I was fortunate enough to have found "Occassional Sounds Entertainment" for our daughters graduation party. They have to be the best DJ and Party planners around. I was impressed by the quick response of any calls or email requests that I submitted to JAY. It was also great to know that 1 of the principles of the company is dealing with you on a one to one basis. I can only say that their are many entertainers and DJ's that might be hired for a special occassion but if you are looking for the creme of the crop...... OCCASSIONAL SOUNDS ENTERTAINMENT is your only call. They also recommended a fantastic woman by the name of Marianne who handled scrap booking the nights festivities after our guests laughed it up in our photo booth. She made the evening a memorable one after the party was over. Their staff could not be more attentive to our daughters needs and the requests of our guests. For the best party -- CALL O.S.E. and ask for JAY...

Jay did an amazing job. He was very flexible, attentive and helpful. His website made planning everything very easy and he was always available to answer all my questions. Thank you so much for helping to make my wedding perfect.

Bob and I are so happy we picked Jay, Chris, and Occasional Sounds Entertainment to be our DJ's for our recent wedding. Jay was so helpful throughout the entire process. He was professional, yet fun. He interacted with all of our guests and was a big hit. The dance floor was full all night!! I also liked how they catered to all of our guests, as we had quite a range in ages. Knowing this, Chris offered to sing some Frank Sinatra songs which we knew would appeal to our older guests. If you didn't know any better, you would have thought Frank himself had stopped at our wedding. What a wonderful voice. He was even kind enough to allow a guest to join him. We would not hesitate to use Jay and Chris again. Thanks for making our wedding a blast and a day we will always remember!

Without a doubt, Occasional Sounds is a wonderful addition to any party! Jay and his crew do their very best to accommodate their clients' every request and make the crowd feel comfortable and ready to party. Jay has an extensive category of musical genre that will fit any event; complete with interactive games and organized dances that get everyone involved and up on the dance floor. Occasional Sounds has now provided entertainment for several of our family events, and Jay has become a family favorite not only among the adults but the kids as well. Definatly a "thumbs-up" choice!!!

I hired Jay and Dom from OSE to DJ my son’s wedding on June 15,2013 because we have worked together before and there is no one that I would rather have entertain at my son’s wedding than them. Always professional, always fun! We had many guests from out of state and they were all on the dance floor. Jay took care of all the music and handled all of our special requests. Do not hesitate in hiring Jay and Dom from Occasional Sounds, you will not be disappointed.

I have been to many weddings and events with DJ's but none of those can compare to my experience with Jay and the rest of Occasional Sounds Entertainment. Jay was very interactive with my guests and had everyone up and out of their seats whether it was for dancing or taking silly pictures in the photobooth. Along with the photobooth was a scrapbooking station so I can have memories (and blackmail) that will last a lifetime. Jay truly made my wedding an unforgettable one. I would definitely use him again for any other party I may have.

Occasional Sound Entertainment is very professional and at the same time friendly and so easy to work with! Jay and the crew know how to entertain at a Bar Mitzvah and keep everyone involved in the fun. My son had a baseball theme party and Jay had some great ideas to work the theme in with the music and games. He always responded quickly to my texts and phone calls and was always able to answer my questions. If you are having a lot of children at your affair, I recommend the photo booth. The kids had a blast dressing up and using the props for pictures. The booth prints out one copy for the guest, and one copy the children put into a scrapbook for the guest of honor. Unfortunately, one of my guests passed out and we had to stop the celebration for about a half an hour, while the EMT's attended to him and got him into an ambulance. (he's okay, don't worry :0) Jay approached me and offered to stay an extra half hour to make sure we had time to enjoy all we had planned! (at no additional cost to me!) Luckily, the ballroom did not have another party coming in and the party went on and was wonderful! I just today, recommended Occasional Sound Entertainment, to a woman at my temple who is just beginning to plan her daughter's Bat Mitzvah!! Lisa Zwerin

I thought Jay was the best DJ that I ever could have for my wedding, I have been to many other wedding and the DJ's were not even close to the quality of service and the response from the guests. He had everyone up on the dance floor and got everybody involved. He taught the dance moves and everyone was responding. He also was very accomodating to playing requests from the guests as well. All the songs that I asked him to play, he did gladly. He was also very helpful in helping me choose the music as well.

We used Jay/Occasional Sounds Entertainment for both of my daughters 8th grade graduation parties which was held at Latitudes on the River. Jay has always been extremely professional, punctual and approachable from day one, he would spend forever listening to what we wanted and expected. He is never pushy and is always honest about what he feels will work best with our group/theme. Don't even think twice about hiring them for ANY event. We especially loved the private client log in on his website which allowed my daughters to pick and chose what songs, dances etc. they wanted played and what to absolutely avoid. Jay surprised my dad who turned 75 at our recent party, he celebrated my dad in such a fun yet classy way, having us all out to do the "twist' dad's favorite dance, truly a special family moment we will never forget. Can't wait to have another party and need a DJ!

We hired them for our wedding and they were fantastic!!!! We were so happy with everything. Jay and Dominic were so professional and entertaining. The dance floor was packed all night long. Chris sang during the dinner and he was phenomenal, he blew everyone away by his singing! I would highly recommend them!

Jay was amazing from the very first conversation! We built a personal relationship.He was always sincere and made my daughter feel special. The night of the party was fantastic!!! Everyone danced and had a smile on their faces the entire night. The photobooth was so much fun and captured memories of a lifetime.

We used Jay for our daughter's bar mitzvah. While starting our planning for this event I started my search for dj's online. After extensive research I ran across Occasional Sounds Entertainment. I really got a good feeling from the website and decided to give them a call to check dates and prices. My instincts were confirmed after speaking to Jay and after booking him throughout the planning process. He blew us away at the event itself! He did a great job picking out the music, organizing the special moments of the day and generally making the event the happiest ever! The only problem we had around our event was an issue with our photographer at the last minute. I was desperate thinking we would not have pictures of the day, I called Jay hoping he could somehow give us advice. Not only did he get us a new photographer but also a videographer. Need I say his team did a fabulous job there too! Finally if all this was not enough we also got the photo booth for the party and this really was a hit! The girls attending we're so sweet and my daughter loves the scrapbook of all the party guest being silly! After all the planning and prepping the day went on without a hitch! I am so appreciative of Jay since he and his company were a big part of the success! Now I want to have a party to hire OCS just to enjoy them again. Lots of love to y'all Jay! We thank you and your team bunches for everything!!

Jay was AWESOME! So happy we made the decision to have a DJ and even happier we decided to use Jay! He is professional, knowledgeable and most of all FUN! Phenomenal! I could not have asked for a better DJ. From the website they send you to prep for the wedding, to the final details phone call, to the actual event, they were PERFECT! All of our guests had a great time and the dance floor was NEVER EMPTY! They kept the energy alive and truly made this a special day for us! We hired Jason and his crew for our wedding based on the nice reviews I saw on Wedding Wire.

It turned out that by the end of the night - everyone was exhausted from all the dancing and fun....

Stop searching for a DJ that may or may not perform better than agreed - Because Jason and his crew - GO WAY BEYOND!

I strongly urge you to hire Jay - he is exceptionally professional and refreshingly entertaining to watch. You never know what is going to happen next that will make you just - CRACK UP!

Doug and I could not have asked for a better DJ. Joe and Jay met our every need and every request. We were so happy with every selection of music during our reception. They had a huge selection of music and had people on the dance floor all night. We didn't want the reception to end we were having such a great time. They also provided the music for our ceremony. They were very professional and if we ever had use for a DJ again we would only book them. Thank you so much for such a great wedding!!!!!! And thank you for making the night so special for us.

My new husband and I recently go married and hired Occasional Sounds Entertainment to be our D.J. Jay far exceeded our ecpectations! During the months leading up to our wedding, he was very accomodating and was able to provide us with everything we wanted and more.
The wedding itself was a blast. Joe and I received so many compliments about the D.J. from our guests. A great time was had by all. Jay was funny, energetic and simply phenomenal! We look forward to booking him again for our next event.

Jay did my son's baptism for me on this date. Prior to this, I had used him a few years back for my other son's baptism and 1st birthday. He has always done a great job, and I wouldn't go to anyone else for any of my events. He gave me a great blend of Italian music for my old school Italians, some classic hits for the adults, and of course the current hits for the kids. He gets there early to setup, is very courteous, and dresses professional. He even had a little pump which worked out great to blow up all the inflatables we got for the kids. He is great with passing the stuff out and getting everyone up and having fun. I would definitely recommend him.

My wife and I selected Jay and Occasional Sounds for our wedding and could not be happier. When we met with Jay initially he was very helpful and provided a lot of great ideas for the wedding that we had not even thought of. For instance, initially we did not want to have the garter placement because we didn't want it to be awkward, but Jay suggested having whoever caught the garter put in on the groom which was absolutely hilarious and the crowd went nuts and loved it. Additionally, he suggested having one of his employees sing Frank Sinatra during dinner. He was amazing. He sounded just like him and of course the woman at the wedding became all red in the face. Haha. We gave Jay a general guideline on what music we wanted him to play but just let him run with it since he has the experience of DJ’ing weddings and he delivered. He play classic songs for the older crowd, seamlessly transition to some country for our friends from Wyoming and finished the night off with some awesome dance/EDM music. We were all a sweaty mess and could not walk the next day we were so sore from dancing. I would definitely recommend Jay for any event. He was reasonably priced and doesn't nickel and dime you. He definitely exceeded our expectations of what we wanted.

I would use Occasional sound again for any events in the future. I cant say enough great things about Jaye! He made our wedding reception something that people are still talking about how they had a great time and how wonderful the atmosphere and music was! He was a BIG hit with all our guests and with us too!

We're very happy that we found Jay, because the right choice of a DJ means a lot for the success of a wedding reception. We took a gold package and had a fabulous time at our wedding (the reception took place at the Versaille Ballroom of Ramada Inn Toms River), even those guests who never dance were dancing :-) We had guests ranging in age from 4 to 89 and they all enjoyed the party. We highly appreciated Jay's manner of presentation, choice of music, quality of sound and light show. The gold package cost us $995 , and that was a very good price for such a great job.

Occasional Sounds Entertainment provided stellar DJ services for my son's first birthday party. Jay was was a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. The music was awesome and he interacted so well with the kids. He got out there and played games with them and had all of them very involved. I HIGHLY recommend Jay an his crew for your party needs. Jay, our DJ from Occasional Sounds Entertainment provided us with excellent music for a retirement/60th surprise birthday party. The music was great and made the party a terrific success! This is the 2nd time that Jay has DJ'd for our family and we will definitely have him again. He is extremely versatile as this recent party was a somewhat older crowd and the previous party he worked for us was a young group. Both were great parties because of him. We highly recommend him.

There are too many things to do when planning your wedding. Luckily, one thing I didn't have to worry about was finding a DJ. My friends and family have been using Occasional Sounds for all of our events since Jay started the company 15 years ago, and I knew without hesitation that I wanted him to do our wedding too. He has a real talent for reading the crowd and selecting the appropriate music. His deep library of music not only had my teenage cousins dancing, but he even got my 92 year old grandmother out on the dance floor when he pulled out her wedding song from 1938.

We are so happy that we usd Occasional Sounds for our DJ the ay of our wedding. Jay was so wonderful to work with up to the wedding; he was always very quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Chris was our other DJ and sang our first dance. He also sang a few songs during dinner. Everyone was so shocked when they realized that it wasn't Frank Sinatra singing our song but it was Chris! There were more requests during dinner; everyone loved listening and dancing while he sang. So many people pulled us aside and told us how much they loved our DJ. Jay was awesome at getting people on the dance floor and coordinating with the other vendors to help everthing run smoothly. He played awesome songs and kept the party going all night!

Jay and his crew provided my partner and I an amazing night. Jay met with us and prepared a fantastic evening for us and our guests. The professional, top-notch service we received from our first meeting to the end of the evening was amazing! Everyone was very impressed with the music selection and your ability to keep the dance floor packed all night!
The Photobooth and Scrapbook Station was a perfect addition to our reception! Our guests enjoyed the unique photobooth, props, taking pictures together, getting them immediately and leaving us personalized messages. We love looking at our Photobooth Scrapbook and will treasure it always.

Jay and Occasional Sounds Entertainment provided exceptional DJ services for our wedding. From the time we booked until the end of our wedding day Jay and his staff were extremely professional and carried out everything we wanted. All of our special requests were carried out and all details were covered. Also, most importantly, the dance floor was PACKED the entire night! We also booked the photo booth. It is sleek, modern, and everyone had a blast using it! Along with the photo booth we had the scrap booking station, which involved our guests and provided great memories for us to take away with. Another must-do is to have Chris sing during dinner. He is AMAZING and sounds like he should be apart of the Rat Pack. People could not believe that it was actually him singing live and not a Frank Sinatra recording.

Bottom line...OSE provided great service and entertainment and they helped to make our dream wedding complete. By the end of the night we received so many compliments from our guests about the evening's entertainment. So if you do not book OSE for your next event you will definitely regret it! Thanks OSE!

If you are looking for a DJ Occasional Sounds is who you want to hire. Jay is just the best. His online selection system that he has set up lets you pick the music you want to hear. You can create your own playlist. It is awesome. They are extremely professional. They showed up when they said they would. I had to change where we were originally going to have to set them up because it started to rain before they showed up. I was worried that he was going to have a problem with that and he assured me there would be no problem he would do whatever we asked. Before hiring Occasional Sounds I spoke with a few other DJ's and didn't like their attitudes. They wanted it to be all about them and everyone of them wanted me to have the entire party work around them. When I spoke with Jay on the phone we just hit it off. So easy going, he made me feel like we have known each other for years. It was whatever I wanted, he would make it happen. His equipment was top notch and sounded great. We treated him like he was a part of the family because that is how nice he was. He even let my father do some DJ'ing :) Everyone at the party thought they were so good and I am sure there will be people from the party calling when they are in need of a DJ. Jay thank you for making our special day extra special. Everyone had a great time!!!!!!

We had the pleasure of using Occasional Sounds Entertainment this past weekend for my daughters Sweet 16 party. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I want to say a special thank you to Jay and his team at OSD for providing entertainment and DJ services for our wedding day!!! Jay was absolutely amazing to work with and super personable and professional. Our DJ Jay was great! Our guests had an awesome time and danced non-stop. My grandfather, who I have NEVER seen dance, actually got on the dance floor 3 times!

Occasional Sounds was a huge part of our wedding day. We got married at PNC Reception Center in Holmdel, NJ. They provided uplighting, music, an entertainer to sing at dinner and photo booth. We couldnt be happier with how it all turned out. People are still talking about the photo booth and how much fun they had with it. The singer was great he was a huge hit. The lightening just made the room that much more beautiful and the music was great. Jay is very easy to work with and flexible I would definitely recommend them to anyone :)

We hired Jay and his team to provide DJ and photo booth services at our son's Bar Mitzvah on 10/24/14. Right from the start, Jay stood out when I was researching and talking to DJ's. Before we even hired him, he was generous with his time and ideas, and he helped us figure out how to add in a karaoke aspect to the entertainment. For the months leading up to our event, Jay was always approachable and available to talk with us and answer our questions. His online planning tool was also incredibly helpful for organizing and planning the day, as well as picking out music. He always went out of his way to work with us and help us provide the special touches we wanted. At our son's Bar Mitzvah, he was flexible and read the crowd well. He led great games with the kids and also appealed to the adults. The photo booth was also a huge hit with all of the accessories he brought, and it's great that Jay provided us with those photos digitally as well as in a scrapbook. The whole day was incredible, and we are so pleased with Jay and his team. We won't have to think twice when we are ready to book entertainment for our younger son's Bar Mitzvah.

Our daughter's graduation party was such a huge success!!!! Jay provided the best music selection that was requested by the young kids and even us older folks!!! If you are looking for a fun, affordable, easy going DJ, than Jay and OS are the entertainers for you! To put it simply, Jay and Occasional sounds did an AMAZING job at our wedding and made the day that more special for not only us, but our guests. Their assistants were classy, helpful, and invisible when they needed to be. The music selection and flow was perfect and kept everyone on the dance floor ALL night. The photo booth was flowing nicely and was fun for all; we cannot wait to see all of the pictures! Our Dinner time singing was better than expected, and a MUST for weddings of all ages. It really adds a layer of class to any occasion.

As you can see, we really cannot say enough about our awesome experience. From the first meeting, to the follow up calls and emails, Jay made sure our event had everything we wanted and more. Everything was done very professionally and the presentation was a grade above the rest. Jay and his team provided A+ service and we appreciate EVERYTHING that was done.

If you are looking for a great DJ/Photo booth (or any other service offered) at an affordable price, you NEED to contact Occasional Sounds first. we booked occasional sounds last year for our annual Halloween party and it was the best event to date. He kept the party entertained. Played a mixture of music to please everyone and was very interactive with my guests. We had such a good experience that we are booking occasional sounds again.

We used occasional sounds because of the reviews I read on wedding wire and the great value he gives his clients and I can assure you all of those great reviews were right about him! He was quick to respond whenever I had a question or request during the planning process. On our wedding day he read the crowd really well and played what was working to get people dancing. The dj is so important to have a great celebration, because you want people to dance and have fun and remember the night, and occasional sounds did that for us. Jay was awesome!

We also absolutley loved the photo booth. We used our photo strips as favors for our guests. It was a nice momento for our guests to take home.

Jay was so great at our wedding. When he met with us before the wedding, he made sure we would get exactly what we wanted. On our special day, he delivered. He was entertaining and professional. He had a sense of humor and everyone had a great time. A big part of the event is who you get to DJ and Occasional Sounds was the right choice.

Occasional Sounds is an excellent Disc Jockey entertainment business. I recently had them entertain at my wedding on December 11, 2010! Jay spent so much time preparing for our wedding. It was perfect! His business offers a variety of techniques that other companies do not have, including: Zapshots, music videos, and amazing creativity. My guests are still calling my husband and I and bragging about how much fun our wedding was! It would not have happened if it were not for Occasional Sounds. I will definitely recommend them as an excellent Disc Jockey Company.

Where do I start?? From the day we met with Jay he was awesome!! We told him what we wanted and what we could afford. He was the most reasonable and offered so much with his packages. I was referred to him from a friend and I can't thank her enough! Jay was so personable and we had a connection with him immediately! The music was amazing all night and though things got screwed up due to our photographer on a timely matter, Jay didn't let that interfere with anything! Thank you so much Jay for everything! I am happy to recommend Jay Silverstein (Occasional Sounds Entertainment). He was the DJ for my husband's surprise 30th Birthday party. The music and entertainment were outstanding. He played a great selection of music and played some games that really got the crowd going. We had many, many comments from friends about the great party and how much fun the DJ was.

Jay was very accomodating. My daughter was able to choose the music she wanted played at her party. If he didn't have a song in his playlist he went out of his way to find it for her.The online site for Occasional sounds is so easy to go through. If you have any special requests as far as what you want for the night he is willing to work it out for you. We had the photo booth which was a big hit with the kids. Being able to go through Jay for the rental made it so easy. We didn't have to worry about contacting another company and worrying if someone else would show up or if their product was a good product.
Jay was receptive to the kids coming up to him that night and asking for songs, which you don't always see in a DJ. He played nonstop for the 4 hours too keeping the kids going through the whole party. I would definitely use his services for my next event.

My family had worked with Occasional Sounds Entertainment's Jay before, for a 50th Anniversary party for my grandparents. My wife and I went to see an example of an Occasional Sounds Ent. (OSE) DJ a wedding gig at a fine banquet hall, before we decided to book with him. Jay and OSE are a top-notch, professional outfit that knows how to entertain the guests at any event. My wife and I made a deposit that night since our wedding was on a Saturday in June.
