Wedding Dress Preservation

Oakwood Cleaners is amazing! I had used them previously and when I wanted my wedding dress preserved, I knew I would use them again. My dress had been hanging in a closet for about a year and not been professionally cleaned post wedding. I was so happy with the time they took to make sure it was perfect before the preservation process and my dress is beautiful! Highly recommend if you are looking for the best to preserve your dress.

Professional and Friendly

I brought my daughter's wedding dress in for cleaning. Rhonda the owner of Oakwood Cleaners took the time to explain the difference between cleaning and preservation. I decided to preserve the wedding dress and am so very happy with my decision. I know that the dress will now last for years to come.

Wonderful experience!

I have a friend who highly recommended Oakwood Cleaners after having her daughter’s wedding gown preservation done there.
I talked with Rhonda on the phone prior to taking my daughter’s gown and veil there for the preservation process to be done. I made the decision to have the work done there.
Once I got there and talked with her in person, I knew that I had made the right decision. She explained the process and expected completion date in detail.
Communication was excellent throughout the process.
I found the entire staff to be very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating!
My daughter’s dress and veil were in excellent hands with the Oakwood staff!

Daughter’s Wedding Dress

My daughter’s wedding dress was designed by Jean Dudley Smith and hand sewn—an heirloom masterpiece, and she had a rip roaring blast at her wedding while wearing it! Oakwood cleaners restored it to pristine condition! It takes a
long time, but I trust them, and it’s worth the wait!

Can't believe my trashed bridesmaid dress came clean!

I took my bridesmaid dress here for cleaning after a somewhat "wild" wedding. Believe it or not, I have a bridesmaid dress I think I'll actually wear again. So i was pretty disappointed when i saw the state if it after the wedding. I had all sorts of spray tan, frosting, & general gunk all over it. I brought it in to Oakwood Cleaners & they explained the process very clearly. They seem to be very knowledgeable, as much of the technical info was way over my head. They do a complicated inspection process - photos, listing all the spots & damage in the computer. I have never seen another dry cleaner even come close to that amount of attention to detail. They said that they couldn't guarantee that all the stains would come out, but I wasn't surprised. I trashed that dress! However, when I got it back, it was in better condition than when I got it. All the gunk came off and it was pressed really nicely. It was wrapped in an inflated plastic bag with a cardboard hanging mannequin, which is keeping it from getting smooshed in my closet. I'm really happy I splurged to get my dress cleaned here. It was worth every penny. I'd definitely recommend Oakwood for nicer clothes - and everyday clothes, if you have the budget for it. They do a fantastic job. I'll be coming here for all my formal dry cleaning in the future.

This is the best place to take your dress.

Stop looking. This is the best place to take your dress. Beyond the normal 5 star care taken, there’s a black light inspection that helps with the removal of stains you can’t see today that will show up in years to come. The finished product comes in a quality box with a zipper dust cover. Once opened, you’ll find a pair of white gloves for any future handling. As you unfold the dust cover and layers of tissue paper, you’ll find your gown meticulously laid out and carefully folded, the bodice packed with tissue paper to preserve shape. Every detail has been considered for the placement of your dress accessories from veil to extra straps and panels. In addition to all this the work is of course guaranteed. This vendor has certain certifications that set them apart in this part of the industry that you can ask about as well.

Is this expensive? In a word yes. Though I’d consider this a relative question depending on how much you paid for your dress and how sentimental you are. I feel very confident I could easily show my granddaughter this dress someday and it look exactly as it does today.

How long does this take? Current wait times are between 12-14 months. The actual cleaning portion does include several different phases. Between that, the care taken, the finished product, and the demand, this made sense to me. I wasn’t in a hurry so the wait did not bother me. The communication was perfect for me. Calls and texts. I was notified of anything of importance but not overwhelmed with extra information I didn’t need as the customer.

When you pick up your dress, everything is explained and the box is opened so you can view the dress. I even received a hand written note from the person who did the preservation portion for my dress and happened to be the owner, thanking me for selecting them for this service and explaining the details of where she had laid my gown’s accessories.

I’m very satisfied with my choice and the finished product. I would happily recommend Oakwood Cleaners for Wedding Gown Preservation to anyone looking for the upmost professionalism, stellar customer service, and careful handling of what is often the most expensive and cherished dress many ever purchase.

Great service and professional work

Oakwood beautifully restored several formal gowns for us for a dress display in our new archives museum! Several gowns were in a fragile state and they repaired them to a like-new condition. We were thrilled with the results!

Beyond Expectations

My parents are about to celebrate 60 years married. They were in the process of downsizing and my mom thought that meant she would no longer have room to keep her wedding dress. She had never preserved it; it had simply been kept hanging in her closet. The dress was in need of some love and restoration (stains from 60 year ago / discoloration of the material) and I luckily found Oakwood. Rhonda treated me like her own family! The whole staff made me feel like they were all there to make this dress beautiful again for my mom. AND THEY DID IT! It is gorgeous and looks just as perfect as it did 60 years ago! My mom cried! Two daughters, Two beautiful dresses

As my twins got married within a few months of each other, I had 2 wedding dresses to preserve. After meeting the staff at Oakwood Cleaners, I felt very comfortable trusting them with two wedding dresses. Above and beyond!

Oakwood cleaners did my alterations and cleaning/pressing before my wedding and planning dress preservation as well. Birdie, the seamstress did such a wonderful job with my dress, she was able to add in pockets to an already difficult dress and sew in some personal touches in the skirt. There were some last minute details and Oakwood handled them professionally and timely. I appreciate the care and detail they put into everything!

Couldn’t have had a better experience!

Can't recommend Oakwood Cleaners enough for wedding dress cleaning!! My wedding dress was GROSS when I took it to them to get cleaned, stained with dirt, spray tan, makeup, and spilled wine. I honestly didn't have super high hopes about it being restored to perfection because it had been so stained throughout the day but they did it somehow! It was given back to me in pristine condition, steamed and nicely hung up so it would minimize wrinkles in the dress. It gave me even more peace of mind that they use a text number you can request updates from, respond back to any questions they have come up, or get updates on when it will be ready for pick up. It was a long wait to get back since it is hand cleaned but well worth it.

The best alteration experience I could have asked for

I bought a wedding gown on sale and thought "This will do." But it needed some slight alterations, and I didn't know who to trust. A friend recommended the alteration crew at Oakwood Cleaners... and I'm incredible grateful. Birdy hit it out of the park. She took a dress that "would do" and transformed it into a dress I was in love with and never wanted to take off. I'm still pretty stunned. She was professional, caring, and thought out of the box to solve problems with the dress and make it the best it could be. I am incredibly grateful and can't recommend her work enough!!!

Phenomenal 61-yr-old, 3rd Generation Wedding Gown Restoration

If I could give Oakwood Cleaners 100 out of 5 stars, I would. Oakwood Cleaners took on a HUGE project of both restoring and tailoring my vintage 61-year-old, 3rd generation wedding dress and turned it into the most beautiful heirloom dress I could have ever asked for. This dress was made in 1961 for my grandmother's wedding day. Then her daughter, my mother, wore it again in 1989 for her wedding. Since my grandmother's wedding 61 years ago, the dress was never once properly preserved or stored. It was in poor shape, to say the least. When I started planning my wedding in 2021, I really didn't entertain the idea of using my mom's wedding dress as my own because I knew it wasn't in good shape and that it was quite old. But after reading some of Oakwood Cleaner's reviews on vintage wedding dress restorations, I decided to take the dress in, and have it looked over - and I am so glad I did. From the second I walked in Oakwood Cleaner's doors, I was treated with nothing but the utmost professionalism and sincerity. They treated my vintage dress with love and reverence, as if it was their own mother's. Their team was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with the dress, the fabric, and the structure which allowed them to manipulate and restore it to its previous beauty. Oakwood Cleaners even had an in-house seamstress, Birdy, that was able to take on my dress as another project. Since she was knowledgeable about the restoration process and how to deal with vintage fabrics, she provided expert advice and skill in fixing the structure of the dress and tailoring it to my body. This allowed me to have my vintage dress restored, tailored, and pressed all in the same building by the same experts. I cannot say enough how thankful I am for the team at Oakwood Cleaner's. They made it possible for me to wear the same dress on my wedding day that my mother wore on her wedding day and her mother before that wore on her wedding day. This meant more to me than I can possibly explain in this review. But if you're reading this review, wondering if you should take your wedding dress into Oakwood Cleaner's, please deliberate no further and go in!

Quality, professional, service-oriented experience

The bridal gown of your precious daughter usually exceeds your idea of “budget” for obvious reasons. Preserving is of prime importance in the event the dress should be worn again. I studied the process and who was the best. I had plans to send to NYC until I learned of the accreditation of Oakwood in Nashville. They exceeded every expectation. Rhonda, the owner, attends to every detail. The dress needed small repairs which they did. It was prepared and preserved beautifully for the next generation…hope that time does not pass too quickly!

Amazing Experience and Beautiful Preservation

Let me start by saying that the ladies at Oakwood Cleaners in Nashville did a wonderful job with my wedding dress and veil. From the moment I walked in, I felt like my dress and I were in good hands. I was very apprehensive about leaving my dress anywhere, but once I understood the process, I was confident I had made the right choice. The young lady that helped me answered every question I had & explained so much that didn't even occur to me before I went in. They have an extensive inspection process to find any spots or damage - they even used a black light to find invisible spills that may not show up for years. The seamstress was also able to repair the spot that I accidentally tore with my heel and I was amazed to see how the stitches were barely visible and the hole was gone. I wouldn't have ever known if I wasn't the one to put it there lol! My dress also had some spray tan on the top and dirt around the train. They said they couldn't guarantee that it all would come out, but it looks as good as new now! I can't believe how clean it is! The preservation box is heavy duty and I'm even able to open it to look at it when I get it home. They even gave me a pair of white gloves so I can touch my dress once I get it home. I'm so excited to show my family when they get here for Xmas- and maybe one day I can pass it along to the next generation to be loved again. Overall my experience was excellent and totally worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Nashville’s Best Wedding Gown Cleaning service!

I had my wedding on a pretty rainy day which lead to mud getting all over the bottom on my gown. I was nervous that it wouldn’t come out. But Oakwood did wonders! It looks great, I am pleased.

Vintage wedding gown veil and lace restoration

Rhonda at Oakwood is amazing! I took my grandmother’s 100 year yellowed wedding veil to Oakwood. Not only was it beautifully restored to perfection, it was also cleaned to it’s original color. They are the experts to go to for preservation. I would highly recommend Oakwood Cleaners !!

Highly Recommend Oakwood Cleaners!

Oakwood Cleaners is the only cleaners I trusted to clean and preserve my daughter's wedding dress and veil. I was amazed at the detail of their preservation process and thrilled with how beautifully the gown was arranged and protected in a muslim-covered box. I was shown how to meticulously handle and care for the dress in the future, and a pair of white gloves was even included in the preservation box to wear when touching the gown. They also did a wonderful job cleaning my daughter's rehearsal dinner ensemble, a white jumpsuit with a lace bodice and train. I am so impressed with the caring and loving approach that Oakwood Cleaners takes when dealing with such precious items.

Great Experience

Even with a delayed completion date, Oakwood cleaners still managed to exceeded our expectations when it came to cleaning and persevering our wedding dress! Their service and staff have made the process so easy and even kept us up to date with future care.

Oakwood Cleaners

I had a vintage wedding dress repackaged. My daughter decided not to wear it, so I wanted it stored in a new memory box to keep it from yellowing & deteriorating. I was helped by two ladies. I am terrible with names, but I know they introduced themselves. They were very helpful and informative. Oakwood Cleaners is run like a professional, experienced & specialized boutique. They handle your dress with care & really know how to pick out all the details they need to take take care of. My daughter and I felt like we were at another bridal gown showing.

Restored wedding gown to perfection!

Oakwood Cleaners is simply the best! When you decide to restore a wedding gown, you are making a major investment. After a night of dancing, my daughter's wedding gown definitely needed cleaning. The restoration process was explained in detail by Oakwood staff. I would not have trusted any other cleaners. I highly recommend Oakwood!

Absolutely Amazing Work!!

My Step Daughter is getting married, her grandmother has passed away. We decided to have her grandmother's wedding dress turned into pillows, a garter belt and handkerchiefs. Kayla did an amazing job and her grandmother can be there!! They have taken excellent care of this dress, it is 60 years old. They drew sketches and communication was impeccable.

Wonderful experience and service!

Wonderful wonderful experience! I got married in Napa last August and my wedding dress came home with several wine spills. I wasn't sure any of them would ever truly come out, but Pat assured us that they could clean and preserve my dress. They didn't return the dress until it was as good as new! Very pleased with the result and the level of service and care. It took a couple of months, but they were diligent about updating us throughout the process. Phenomenal service - Highly recommend Oakwood Cleaners to anyone looking to clean, restore and preserve their dress to like new condition!

Fantastic experience!

The whole staff at Oakwood Cleaners was fantastic when it came to making sure that my wedding dress was ready for the big day and taken care of afterward as well! They made sure my dress was perfect in plenty of time for my ceremony and did an amazing job cleaning and preserving my dress afterward. Fantastic work, customer service, environmentally friendly dry cleaning

Oakwood Cleaners cleaned and prepared my daughter’s wedding gown on short order with gracious flexibility and professionalism that could not possibly be matched. It was a very detailed beaded gown which made it even more challenging yet they managed it without difficulty. Customer service was superb with manager, Rhonda Wernick and her front desk staff. I highly recommend and will return for my precious and valuable gowns/heirlooms.

Perfect Restoration

My daughter was married in 2009. After her wedding, I had planned to have her wedding gown preserved but my husband and I had to begin caring his aging mother. Somehow, taking care of my daughter’s beautiful wedding gown kept getting moved back down on my priority list. Fast forward to 2018, I took my daughter’s wedding gown out of the wedding gown zippered protection bag. I was horrified when I found brown stains all over it. I just sat down and cried. I blamed myself for allowing her dress to become damaged. I called Oakwood Cleaners and took her gown to them. Everyone was so kind and I was assured that they had the expertise to restore her gown. I knew at that moment that I had made the right choice to entrust Oakwood Cleaners with my daughter’s wedding gown for restoration and preservation. When I received the email that my daughter’s wedding gown was ready to be picked up, they included a picture of her gown. Tears of joy flowed down my cheeks. The gown had been restored to its original beauty. When I went to get her gown from Oakwood cleaners, they opened the preservation box and once again my eyes filled with tears of joy as I viewed my daughter’s beautiful gown. I would highly recommend Oakwood for preserving wedding gowns.

I had a lot of trouble dress shopping and could not find a wedding dress that I loved. My mother-in-law asked me if I would like to wear her 30-year-old wedding dress. She said I could alter it and make it however I wanted. I took it to a tailor and they helped me figure out how to make it the dress of my dreams. The problem was that it is a dress older than me and it had already been through one wedding. It needed some love. I took it to Oakwood before my wedding and they returned the shine and the beauty in the dress. It truly became the dress of my dreams.
My dream dress took a beating during the reception from dancing and whatnot. Some of the original beads had come off, some of the original lace was torn, and the lace hem was so dirty. I thought I had ruined it. I was terrified. I took it back to Oakwood and they once again performed a miracle and the dress is back to being the dress of my dreams. They removed every single inch of dirt and it looks as if they found replacements for all of the original beads and helped restore every bit of the original lace. When I saw it I almost cried. When my mother-in-law saw it again, she did cry. She thought after two weddings there was no possible way to bring it back to life but we were so so so wrong. Oakwood has restored the dress of both of our dreams and has made it an heirloom that we will try to continue to pass down. Oakwood now has a place in my family forever and we can not thank them enough.

I can't speak any higher of this company. I had a nightmare of an experience getting my wedding gown cleaned at another "green" company in Nashville back in 2015. I went to the other company first because they were "green" (I thought they didn't use harsh chemicals, etc) and because they were reasonably priced. When I picked up my gown, I immediately panicked. It was gray and no longer the beautiful white it once was. It looked like it had been dipped in dirty water (come to find out, it had!). And the stains at the bottom were exactly how they were when I dropped the gown off. After two months, the gown started developing yellow spots. I thought my $2500 wedding gown was ruined. That's until I went to Oakwood Cleaners!
I was so hesitant because I didn't think anyone could fix it. However, upon talking with Pat, she immediately put me at ease. She is knowledgeable about wedding gowns (accurately estimated the price of mine, asked great questions regarding the material), knowledgeable about the cleaning process (educated me on what this other "green" company likely used on my dress and how the dress was machine cleaned), and was honest about expectations regarding their capabilities. She walked me through how they would treat my dress.
They don't use harsh chemicals (while not flaunting this "green" name). They meticulously hand wash all layers paying close attention to stains and also vulnerable areas that may turn over the years. And they take their time (several weeks, which shows the amount of care they give your dress).
When I picked up my gown, I was almost in tears. It was the beautiful white it once was, no yellow spots, and the stains on the bottom from my wedding day were gone. Mrs Pat took the time to show me how to care for it in the future, including how to pack it in a safe box with acid-free tissue paper while using gloves and how often I should take it out to check it. THEY ARE MIRACLE WORKERS!!

I forgot to clean my wedding dress after my wedding, and when I pulled it out 10 years later it had a few stains on it. I took it to Oakwood hoping they could save it. I just picked it up and it looks fantastic. I am so happy.

We could not be more pleased with the work done at Oakwood Cleaners on our daughters wedding dress. The dress was a pretty simple gown and not overly stained, but a tragic accident took her husband away just shy of 3 years of marriage and my husband and I wanted to have her wedding dress cleaned as a way for her to remember one of the most beautiful days of her life. My husband built a chest to store the gown in and the store worked with us on the best way to be able to store the dress in that chest. The gown turned out beautiful. We were thrilled and so was our daughter. The staff was over the top accommodating and I would recommend Oakwood Cleaners to anyone who is looking for a perfect result and beautiful way to store a memorable gown. Thank you!

I highly recommend Oakwood Cleaners in Cool Springs for wedding gown preservation. When I first went to Oakwood Cleaners to inquire about their services, they took adequate time to explain their services, their pricing, and time frame. During my initial meeting, a bride stopped by to pick up her dress and I observed how they took personal interest in delivering a finished product to their customer.

When I went to pick up the dress, I again received excellent service and instructions on how to take care of the dress and veil when we open the box. Katie's wedding dress was very traditional and had a lot of beading. Her gown is beautifully preserved in an easy to store box which slips into a nice canvas envelope for storage and gloves are tucked inside the box in case you want to open the box and examine the gown.

It was a pleasure to work with the professional and courteous staff of Oakwood Cleaners. Thank you for helping us preserve a Lee family heirloom!

I recently picked up my wedding gown after preservation and was stunned when
the box was opened for me. The dress was so beautifully displayed. I can only describe the feeling as excitement without the anxiety of the upcoming wedding. I almost cried. The people that I worked with seemed sincerely concerned that my dress be as beautiful as possible. The dress took a little longer than expected. Oakwood seems to do a lot of dresses.

It is my pleasure to share my experience at Oakwood Cleaners (3 locations/Nashville metro) having the opportunity to observe a bridal gown cleaning and muslin preservation, a natural eco-friendly way to properly preserve wedding memories.

The intake and approval process is so thorough that after thoroughly inspecting the gown for tears, rips, stains, spots, even pin holes from safety pins, etc., it is then hand-sketched highlighting any areas that the cleaning experts need to be aware of to achieve optimal success in cleaning the gown.

During the muslin preservation process, the bridal gown specialist nets her hair and wears cotton gloves to prevent any body oils from being passed to the gown while it’s being preserved. Oakwood Cleaners are true wedding gown specialists and experts. The intensive labor required is truly a labor of love and artistry above and beyond the science.

I just received my wedding dress back from Oakwood and it is more beautiful than I ever imagined!!! I was married outside and there was a lot of mud I never thought they would get it out. They good almost all of it out and it all of the wine( I spilled out of excitement). My dress was preserved so I can keep the memories clean and safe. I would recommend all brides to go see Rhonda and Rachel at Oakwood so they can work their magic. I am now getting all my dry cleaning done at Oakwood!!! Thanks you guys are the best!!!

I loved working with Leana on my gown. She is the sweetest! Each time I came in there were a couple more little nips and tucks that needed to be altered leaving me a little hesitant throughout the fittings. But, on that last fitting it was absolutely PERFECT! She made my gown fit my body EXACTLY how I wanted it to and on the day of our wedding I felt completely comfortable and confident in it. The bustles stayed in and there wasn’t a single flaw. She does fabulous work and I’ll certainly send referrals your way :)

Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Deneal altered my (Sample Sale from The Bride Room) wedding gown from a size 10 to a size 2. It was cleaned before my wedding day and came out sparkling and beautiful. Also, she crafted the most unique and breathtaking bustle for my Amsale "Caroline" gown -- I almost love the pictures of my gown from behind the most!

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Alterations and a good cleaning (and eventually preservation) are worth shelling out good money -- don't regret your decision by going to a cheaper cleaner!

For weeks after my wedding my designer dress hung in my house needing a lot TLC. I researched dozens of possible methods for cleaning, even considered doing it myself. I was ecstatic when I discovered Oakwood Cleaners. T

Oakwood offers free pick up and drop off services, wedding gown alterations and preparation. I took my dress in myself so I could get the run down on the cleaning and preservation process. First, the dress was fully inspected and a hand drawn sketch is marked with every area that needs attention, from rips and tears to any pleats out of place.

The cleaning process begins with "Green Earth Cleaning." Oakwood employees spot treat every trouble area by hand using eco-friendly chemicals. Next, the dress is put into a water free washing machine. Once the dress is out, the process is repeated if any spots remain. To maintain the integrity of the fragile fabrics, Oakwood waits a week between each cleaning to ensure that the dress is restored correctly (which is why they keep it up to three months). My veil went through a standard dry cleaning process while my newly cleaned dress was hand pressed from top to bottom.

A little less than three months later I picked up my dress that was stuffed with tissue paper and in a large acid-free box and tucked into a muslin bag. Oakwood suggests that you store your dress in a temperature controlled place and open the box at least once a year to inspect (with the white gloves provided) for discoloration, spots or moth holes. Oakwood Cleaners is the only cleaners in Nashville to be a member of the The Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. This guarantees against yellowing and carmelization and allows for a free pressing if the dress is needed in the future at any dry cleaner that is also a member, a very convenient option should I ever move. Oakwood was easy to work with, friendly and very informative about the process. My dress is perfectly preserved and looks like the day I bought it.

I loved working with the staff at Oakwood Cleaners! Oakwood's seamstress Deneal did the alterations on my wedding gown. I lost a lot of weight for the wedding and my dress had to be taken in a little over 2 inches on both sides, it also needed to be hemmed, and the strapless bra sewn in. Deneal did a fantastic job with my dress! I looked incredible! It fit me like a glove! The dress was the highlight of my wedding and I have Deneal to thank for much of that. After the wedding I took my dress back to Oakwood Cleaners for them to clean it for me. I didn't have a lot of major spots, but there were definitely a few and the dress had also gotten dirty around the hem. When the dress was returned from being cleaned it looked like it did the day it arrived from the designer! I am so happy with the work, service and professionalism of the folks at Oakwood Cleaners!

Kumar, who works with Oakwood was so great to work with! He arranged for my gown to be picked up the day after my wedding & I had it back in just a few short weeks!!!

Do research on cost before you contact cleaners, as - you may be shocked! It is very expensive to get a wedding dress preserved the RIGHT way - but SO worth it!

Deneal Deangelo is an exceptionally talented seamstress. I had only heard great things about Oakwood Cleaners. I came to realize quickly that it is due to the mastery that Deneal possesses. Though price was not an issue (I didn't let that be a factor in choosing my wedding gown seamstress) I was pleasantly surprised at how fair the final charges were. The gown was done exactly on time and looked stunning.

In my opinion, there is no reason to look anywhere else.

I had bought a dress at a sample sale that needed a lot of alterations and cleaning. (I had someone else do the alterations) The gown was silk organza and had some dirt spots, a few drips from being in the store, and Oakwood got everything out. Oakwood even called to let me know ahead of time they were working on the spots on my dress and really trying to get them out. My gown was pressed perfectly and provided to me on a form with a new garment bag, and I was so thrilled when I saw it!! The cost is expensive, but I would not trust any other cleaner to work on a silk wedding gown.

Family Heirloom

Over the last three years Oakwood Cleaners has earned my trust and confidence by providing quality cleaning care for my clothes and soft furnishings.
After my daughter shared the news of her engagement, she asked if she could wear my wedding dress for her ceremony.
While my dress had been cleaned and preserved over thirty years ago, when I took it out I found the fabric had yellowed and some alterations were needed.
The cleaning process transformed the Egyptian cotton dress and revealed a fresh, white, flowing gown.
I was especially happy to see the beautiful fabric was still in excellent condition.

New color!

I had my mothers cream colored wedding dress that I wanted to wear but needed some adjustments to fit me comfortably (apparently I have a wider rib cage and it was a bit tight in the shoulder/upper arm area). We easily found a solution to improve the fit and I left the dress to be cleaned and freshened up. When I went to pick it up I was shocked to see that it was actually white. The staff were friendly and the improvement of color shows their quality and attention to detail. While the price is a bit high, it’s 1000% worth it.

Amazing quality and fantastic service!

I took my wedding dress here for cleaning and preservation and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! I had a silk and chiffon skirt and lace/beaded top, both of which were no problem for Oakwood Cleaners! It is spotless and museum-grade preserved, which will be a lifelong keepsake. Communication was great throughout the process and they completed the cleaning perfectly on time. I highly recommend them!

Every Detail from Fitting to Preservation Was Excellent

I was referred to Oakwood Cleaners for my wedding dress fitting. I had fallen in love with a beautiful, classic Catherine Dean gown in two separate pieces (top and bottom) from BHLDN, and I wanted to have the pieces put together to make one gown. The seamstress at Oakwood Cleaners was so sweet and amazing! She was so careful to make sure that I was happy with every step of the process. She combined the top and bottom to form one seamless gown. She continued the little satin buttons from the embroidered tulle top all the way down the romantic satin train (200+ buttons). She hemmed the bottom of the dress for my height and added a bustle. And she added a little satin trim (taken from the scrap of the skirt) to the embroidered tulle edge that irritated my neck. I purchased a large beige satin sash on Etsy to tie around my waist (with a romantically sized bow in the back and long tails that reached near the end of my train), and she helped me play with it to make sure it was the right size and length (so that it wouldn't drag). I always felt so pampered, and I had no issues with my gown at all on my wedding day. I was super comfortable in it for all 9-12 hours that I was in it.

Of course, I took it back to Oakwood Cleaners when the time came for me to have it cleaned. I had no idea that they preserved gowns. I loved every detail of my dress, so I had them preserve it. It is pricey, but it can save money in the long run if the dress is reused. And the amount of work that they put into the preservation is worth the money. It took a year, but that was ok because I didn't need the dress for anything during that time. ;) I am so happy with my dress, and I was so happy with how Oakwood Cleaners took care of it so very well. It was nice to have an expert to trust.

excellent and trustworthy cleaning services

I trust Oakwood to handle all my cleaning needs being mindful of the use of chemicals (no chemical smell or residue) and able to safely clean even the most delicate of items. I use them for all my clothing, bedding and table linens and all are returned well pressed, and safely hung or folded as needed. The staff is knowledgable and have even been able to remove old stains. They are the best.

I took my wedding dress to Oakwood for alterations and worked with Megan Pippenger. She is the sweetest girl and SO TALENTED.
