I had the most amazing experience at Novella Bridal. It was the first place I went to try on wedding dresses (this was a week prior to the pandemic shutdown) . The day prior to my appointment with Lizzie, I came to the store to browse through the dresses and write down a list of the ones I wanted to try. I mostly fell in love with dresses from Essence of Australia and Martina Liana. The day of the appointment Lizzie was so helpful! I had brought my family and I knew they wanted me to wear a ballgown dress and I wanted a mermaid. (I was originally going to get married at Disney's Castaway Cay [private island] so I was going for a beach theme. I later switched my wedding to Disney World). Thus, I wasn't really getting the reaction I wanted out of them, but Lizzie was my biggest cheerleader. At the end I knew I loved the dress I chose but I was afraid to admit that I loved it. She told me, "Just close your eyes and can you see yourself walking down the aisle with this dress?" I put on the dress again and saw myself walking towards my husband (cue the happy tears). I'm so grateful for Lizzie. I'm not sure if she works here anymore since I never saw her after going back for my fittings (which was pushed back since we postponed the wedding for 2022).
Carol is beyond amazing!!!!!! As I mentioned, I bought my mermaid dress (Martina Liana 1092) from Novella, and I ended up buying a ballgown dress (Alfred Angelo 206 - Belle's Dress) from another shop for my photo shoot at Magic Kingdom in Disney World and Harry Potter World. This ballgown dress was too big for me and, thus, needed to be altered. Carol is very talented and altered both of my dress. For my Martina Liana dress, she added off the shoulder straps that went well with my dress and gave my dress a more romantic feel. She also added off the should straps for my ballgown dress and ordered the biggest crinoline petticoat she could find to give me a more princess feel. She was very patient and I went in for at least 3 dress fittings prior to my wedding. Both dresses were absolutely perfect! Thank you so much Carol! And thank you Novella Bridal for making my experience amazing. -

Great Wedding Dress Experience
I bought my wedding dress at Novella Bridal for my October wedding. I visited Novella twice with my bridesmaids to try on dresses and loved the selection and the experience overall. I ended up selecting a Prpnovias dress that could have been purchased elsewhere but decided to buy at Novella based on my experience and their in-house seamstress.
Carol was a dream for my fittings. I ended up needing 5 or 6 fittings because I kept loosing weight and the Carol was so great at getting me in during the evenings to make updates. My dress fit PERFECTLY and I've never felt more beautiful. Thank you!! -

I brought a dress I purchased from BHLDN to Novella for alterations. The dress needed to be taken in, a bra built in, , length shortened and hemmed. I went to Novella multiple times for slight adjustments and every appointment they were on time and prepared. I trusted these women 100% to take apart my dress (literally!) and give me advice on how to achieve the best fit. It worked! The dress fit like a glove and I was so comfortable. Thank you, Novella, for doing an amazing job. Also, benefit! They're a convenient location if you work downtown :) -

I bought my dress online, and needed some alterations to make sure it fit perfectly for the wedding. Every time I came in for a fitting the Novella team was fast and efficient, but also so kind and helpful. They did a wonderful job with my dress, and I was so happy with how it turned out! -

Novella was the first shop I visited and I am so glad! I was so bad at articulating what it was I was looking for, but somehow the team found me the PERFECT dress. They listened not just to my words but to my reactions each time I tried something on. They helped me narrow down what I liked and disliked about each gown and by dress 4 or 5 I found the one.
The team was so accommodating and the great experience didn't stop after the purchase! Carol and her team of seamstresses helped me schedule my fittings in between my busy work schedule and ensured my dress fit like a glove. Novella was so much more than a great bridal shop, they were a partner to me during the wedding process and helped me feel like the best version of myself! -

Emma made me feel comfortable immediately and reassured me that she was there to help me find a dress that I loved, not one my friends loved. She also made sure to that we only looked at dresses within my budget, and would only show me a more expensive dress if I gave the price the okay first. Can’t recommend them enough! -

Cindy Sent on 07/09/2017I was on a business trip from New Zealand and only had one day free in San Fran. I found a gown they had on preownedweddingdresses.com that I wanted to try, so I called through the day before, not really expecting to be able to get in at such short notice! - but they had a time for me that suited so off I went.
The gown was basically in my size, and I knew I was in love as soon as I tried it on. My consultant Sabrina was super helpful and professional, told me all the details of it having been a sample dress, so she pointed out that a couple of buttons were loose and threw in some extra nude coloured ones for me, assured me the amazing train was all intact and nothing wrong with it. I went away to think about it, they said they would hold it for me, and I returned later in the day to purchase it.
All the way on numerous planes back to NZ it made it safely, and only when I was showing a family member did I realise that a couple of white buttons were missing on the back. Wanting to get the exact same of course, I emailed them to see if they could suggest where I might find some, ie if there was somewhere local that would be able to source the buttons for me. But no, they were more than happy to send some (more than I needed), to me, all the way in New Zealand!
I can't praise their friendly service and willingness to help enough. Buying your wedding dress is such a huge step, and the ladies at Novella made it such an easy and exciting process, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. -

I highly recommend Carol and her team at Novella Bridal for alterations. When I took my dress in, it was way too big and really not made for my body shape. Carol knows what she's doing and did a great job making my dress perfect for me. She's also very patient and willing to talk through everything she's doing, which I really appreciated. Antonett Sent on 06/06/2017I bought my wedding dress from here in July 2016 for my wedding on 4-22-2017. My entire experience from shopping for my dress, getting my alterations done, and fittings was amazing!!! First of all, they completely respected my budget and didn't have me try on a dress that would have gone over it including alterations. Secondly, they had a ton of dresses with the look I was going for - lace, vintage, fit n flare. During my first appointment, I probably tried on around 7 dresses - 2 of which were true contenders. I was able to get pictures taken of me wearing each dress during my appointment and from different angles. I scheduled a follow up appointment a month later to try on the 2 contenders, and my consultant helped me make my decision between the two dresses. Since I got a Martina Liana dress, I was able to order it in a custom length which saved me some money on alterations. Overall, my alterations experience was great. I only needed the boning shortened in the torso and the dress to be taken in at the hip and bust. I also had crinoline and beaded straps added to my dress, which increased the alteration cost since I had to purchase the straps. The alterations rep made sure to call me before ever charging my my card. When I went to pick up my dress, they were able to give me an opaque garment bag since I would be traveling with my fiancé to our out of town wedding. After the wedding, they were even able to give me a voucher to get my dress cleaned and preserved. There's an option to get your dress cleaned and preserved through the store (this option is much cheaper), but I was not able to work that in my schedule.
Overall, I felt like I was completely taken care of at this shop from beginning to end. My entire experience was well worth the money. I can't say enough nice things. -

I must have visited every bridal shop in the Bay Area, and the service at Novella was exemplary - no one else made it easier for me to step into all the dresses I tried on. They are very prompt in following up via email (thanks to their sophisticated CRM system), and they helped me envision my dream wedding dress. My fairy godmothers! -

Ellen Sent on 09/30/2013I went to Novella to try on Wedding Dresses with my mom and sister. This was the first time that I had ever tried on dresses and really had no idea what I was looking for. Carrie started to get a feel for what I liked and explained the names of the different styles that I liked. I think she could tell that this was more of a learning appointment than a chance to sell a dress, but that did not stop her from making it a meaningful experience for me. I left with a complete understanding of the type of dress that I liked and the brands that worked best on me. I definitely want to try a few more places, but would love to be able to go back to buy my gown from Novella because of the wonderful experience.
