Absolutely Perfect
North Star Entertainment had some of the best customer service we have ever experienced. As soon as we had a conversation with a representative we knew we had the right company. They spent lots of time answering questions and finding ways to meet every request we had for our wedding. We used Steve Gamlin as our DJ and Steven Heimlich for live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour. The entire ceremony and reception was beautiful, exactly how we imagined, and so much much fun. Both Steves made sure everything was perfect and met every single vision or request we had for the day. Our experience was absolutely perfect and pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommend over and over.

Steve Gamlin is the best!
Steve Gamlin works through NorthStar Entertainment. Both are great to work with. Understanding and fairly flexible. Steve Gamlin maybe isn’t what you’d expect in a wedding DJ but he’s got a lot of experience. (He even wrote a book about it!) All of that makes him a great DJ. He follows directions, gets the crowd excited, and keeps things moving along all without putting too much of his own personal impression into things. All while being honest and fun. We had a great time at our reception and even though we fell a bit behind on timing Steve was able to make some executive decisions and got us right back on time. We are so glad we chose him and would recommend him highly! -

Steve Gamlin is exceptional!
Steve and his DJing were the life of our wedding and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to end. He helped us make a list of songs to play and not play as well as he work with us and the venue very closely to ensure the day went just as we had hoped. He helped us out when we were so unsure of who to go to. STEVE YOURE THE MAN! -

We contacted Northstar Entertainment to find a DJ for our June wedding. They were very responsive and friendly right from the start and we were pointed in the direction of contacting Steve Gamlin about our wedding. We chatted with him over the phone and we could tell just from that conversation he was super friendly, very knowledgable about what he does, and very enthusiastic. From there we knew he was the right choice! Throughout our time working together, Steve met with us to answer any questions we had and was so easy to talk to about what we envisioned for our wedding. He was always super responsive through many emails we exchanged throughout the process which we really appreciated. Using his own studio time, he also took songs we wanted for our wedding but we thought were too long and cut and spliced them together to make the song shorter and still sound perfect. We are so grateful for this touch he added and for his talent! Come our wedding day, he was calm, cool, collected, professional, and so fun as well! He took all of our suggestions and executed them exactly as we wanted. There were no unwanted or unexpected surprises throughout the night and out of all of our wedding vendors, we agreed he was one of the very best. Steve really made our day special from start to finish and we would recommend Steve Gamlin and Northstar Entertainment to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding DJ or band. -

Steve did our wedding very recently and he was great to work with. Steve always answered us promptly when we communicated with him. He showed great enthusiasm for our song choices and made some great suggestions when we asked for them. He moved the night along greatly and kept our guests dancing until after midnight. We highly recommend him to others!

Steve had been the DJ for a wedding my wife had been to years back. We looked to see if he was still in the business and I will be forever grateful that we did. We met Steve at a local coffee shop and from the second we talked to him, we knew he was the right man for the job. He is laid back, but yet professional and superior in his job performance. He was able to help us with song choices, give opinions, and always available. My wife and I work odd hours and Steve always wrote an email back right away. He was accommodating to several parent dances, 3 toasts, and several other requests we made. He always had a smile, and always made sure we knew he was there for us. I don't understand why anyone would use anyone else besides Steve. My wife and I are so thankful for the amazing job he did. The DJ will always make or break your wedding and we had several guest tell us our wedding was one of the best weddings they had been to recently. That is in big part thanks to Steve. Thank you Steve!! -

Hi, Steve and Dave were great at our June 2017 wedding. They were organized, helped me find playlists of the unique artist my fiancée and I enjoyed, and even dressed with our theme!
Of note Steve and Dave were somewhat last minute replacements when my first DJ fell through. I wish I had been with them from the beginning, it would have saved me the headache! -

Even months after our wedding we are still receiving complements about our DJ Steve Gamlin. The dance floors was packed all night and he played a great variety of music. Our wedding venue even remarked to us about how professional and courteous Steve was to work with. Would highly recommend! -

I want to thank you for finding the best duo ever to play for my event. They are so diverse, they could play any song requested from rock and roll to Burt Bacharach. Kelly has a beautiful voice and Ray is a great pianist. My guests raved about Horizon Duo, and we danced all night. It was such a fun night, we will never forget. Please let John know that his efforts did not go unnoticed. After the party, I received several calls, texts, and cards from friends saying how much they enjoyed the event. -

From the second we first spoke to Northstar Entertainment we could not have been any more comfortable or impressed with their service. We were walked through the entire planning process of our ceremony and reception music, leaving a majority of it in their hands. During our wedding and after, our guests made it a point to say how excellent the ceremony performers and DJ were. Pure class. Come HIGHLY recommended. -

You can't go wrong with DJ Steve Gamlin. Highly professional and very accommodating to our requests. The first time we met Steve was at the wedding, all the planning was done long distance via email and phone.
My wife and I agree that paying a bit of a premium for Steve was well worth it. Everyone danced the night away and had a blast. More than a few of our guests commented that it was the best wedding music they've heard. If we had to do it over again, we wouldn't book a date until we knew Steve could be our DJ. He has our highest recommendation! -

How on earth did we get so lucky as to have the guy who literally wrote the book about wedding DJ’ing handle our reception? DJ Steve is the best! He read the crowd perfectly for our cocktail hour, playing something for everyone. He was great at mixing all of our requests into the flow of the evening and handled the random crowd requests with perfection. Steve was a lot of fun to talk too, as well and we’d recommend him to anyone who is planning an event that requires a DJ. We'd actually like to have a party again, just to have Steve be our DJ. -

I am a wedding photographer who has worked at several weddings alongside Steve (through coincidence, I am not associated with him professionally.) I have worked with dozens of DJs, but when the time came for me to choose a DJ for my own wedding, the choice was easy. Steve was affordable, and very responsive during communication leading up to the wedding. He was cooperative and affable with our other vendors, as well as our guests. His laid back and non-intrusive attitude put guests at ease without any cheesy games or gimmicks. He did a wonderful job of keeping the dance floor full with his music. He gracefully combined the music we had requested with his own choices based upon the feel of the crowd, and people absolutely loved it. I could not be happier; I have had multiple wedding guests tell me that our wedding was the funnest wedding they have ever been to, and a lot of that had to do with Steve; I would recommend him to anyone. -

Working with Steve was easy and simple. Before the wedding, my husband and I met with him at Panera. He is very laid back and genuinely cares about what you want. 11 months before the wedding we went over the do not play list, the general feel we wanted, and started to brainstorm what songs we wanted. Steve has his own recording studio and said he could take anything we found (youtube, other) and clip it based on time according to our needs. A month before the wedding we sent in our final playlist (Steve went above and beyond in terms of flexibility telling us we could let him know of changes anytime... including the day of the wedding).
During the wedding, Steve arrived on time and got every single cue of the bridesmaids/groomsmen/bride transitions perfectly. During cocktail hour and dinner the music was just perfect (not stuffy, not boring... but lively and appropriate for dinner). Even more impressive was his ability to improvise. I asked him to play my college fight song about 15 minutes before it was needed, and he made it happen.
Most importantly, he was able to read the crowd. He was able to keep the music volume fun and lively so that everyone (including the older folks) could get up and enjoy the music. Towards the end of the reception, he turned the music up which was perfect for us 20/30 somethings. I am recommending Steve to friends getting married in the upcoming year and hope you enjoy working with him as much as I did! -

Steve Gamlin was our Dj. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He played every single song on our must play list, didn't play anything from the do not play list, and kept people on the dance floor all night with his song choices and flow. He made sure to get the correct pronunciations of everyone being introduced, and edited our songs perfectly so that nobody could even tell (we wanted our parent dances and first dance to be shorter than the songs were). He even made a change to our entrance song when I called him the night before to tell him we needed it to be longer. We got tons of compliments on him from our guests. We couldn't be happier! -

I cannot begin to sing the praises of Steve Gamlin of Northstar Entertainment Agency, but I will try.
Steve came highly recommended; however, I needed to vet the disc jockey of my wedding.
We met for coffee one evening and after an hour, I knew that I needed to have Steve. He is extraordinarily well-versed in current and classic music. His access to a private studio allows him to create cuts of songs for entrances and for first and last dances.
His customer service is beyond compare. We ended up meeting with Steve again for coffee to finalize the playlist for the wedding. What Steve does best is listen. He was by far the easiest vendor to work with, which translated to a successful wedding day. His flexibility and patience when working with other vendors was superb.
Both families were supremely impressed at his humor, personality, professionalism, and his ability to read the feeling of a room. Once started, the dance floor was never empty, and in fact, people were sprinting up a hill to reach the dance floor at times.
If you are considering working with Steve, do yourself a favor and set up a meeting -- you will not be disappointed. -

Amazing!! Everyone I spoke with a worked with from this company was fantastic. From John & Jamie on the administrative end to our DJ Steve Gamlin. All email inquires & phone calls were quickly replied to from John, Jamie & Steve. Steve checked in with me before the wedding to confirm details that we exchanged over email. He was very concerned with pronouncing everyone's names correctly, having the timing of reception events correct, playing the songs we requested, & avoiding those we didn't want. Over the phone & via email, John & Steve are easy to talk to, they were always sincere & honest in their opinions & always very professional! Steve was also very helpful providing a microphone & sound for the officiant at our outdoor ceremony, & communicating with our ceremony musicians about their needs. I highly recommend this company without reservations! -

Steve Gamlin was our DJ for our October 21, 2012 wedding at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Nashua,NH. I cannot express enough how happy we were with the music and with Steve! He is completely professional, flexible and so very kind.His energy was great and our dance floor was PACKED all night long with guests of all ages - from our 3 year old daughter to our grandmothers! It was so amazing to see. We gave Steve a list of our favorite songs and a few of our 'Do Not Plays" and he followed everything to a T. :-) He has his own recording studio so was even able to edit my Father/Daughter song to the exact timing I asked for. Steve was always responsive during the planning process and happily met with us (out of his way!) in person to go over music details. Definitely hire Steve Gamlin/ Northstar Entertainment Agency for your wedding/special event! You will not regret it.We will definately hire him again for any event that requires a DJ. I most also point out that the staff was beyond helpful and responsive as well. Overall the company is just AMAZING!!! Thanks again for everything!

If you are looking for a professional, kind, stress-free and affordable DJ and vendor site, LOOK NO FURTHER! Northstar Entertainment, and in particular DJ STEVE GAMLIN were amazing to work with. We could not have possibly picked a better DJ. This was one area of my wedding that I did not have to stress about at all, as Steve met with my husband and I, and listened to what we wanted. He provided us with ideas and song lists, but did not push anything on us. We had a list of songs we wanted to hear, and songs that we did not want to hear, and he made sure he played exactly what we wanted. We had quite the age range at our wedding, and he literally played everything from oldies to today, and everything in between. He knew exactly when to slow things down, but he also kept the dance floor moving! My biggest worry that people weren't going to dance- DJ Steve had our dance floor PACKED! He made the day about US, and did not take over the mike for the night, or pull out any corny props or games. He was helpful and professional, and I would recommend him to anybody in need of a DJ. Look no further, DJ Steve Gamlin will make your wedding reception one to remember! -

Steve Gamlin was the DJ at our 8/12/2011 wedding and I can't even begin to describe how great he was. He's a true professional that will get everybody up and dancing throughout your wedding. He's very experienced, and knows that your wedding day isn't about him. He is incredibly responsive, and looks for direction on the music. We even gave him a playlist of songs we had to hear, songs we'd like to hear and songs we didn't want to hear. Using that list he created the ultimate playlist of songs and played each one at exactly the right time. His music knowledge is unmatched and he's an all around gentleman. He's also very flexible, the day of the wedding we decided to change our last dance song and he didn't even budge! He kept everyone dancing throughout the night and played exactly the role he needed to play. He presented people and events when he needed to, but didn't spend the night talking - he let the music do that for him. He really is a true professional, he'll meet with you months in advance, respond quickly to your emails and be with you 100% of the way. Not to mention that North Star Entertainment's prices are very reasonable, go out and compare for yourselves!

Steve Gamlin was our DJ for our July 22, 2011 wedding at Atkinson Country Club in NH. I cannot express enough how happy we were with the music and with Steve! He is completely professional, flexible and so very kind. His energy was great and our dance floor was PACKED all night long with guests of all ages - from our 5 year old niece to our 90 year old grandmother! It was so amazing to see. We gave Steve a list of our favorite songs and a few of our 'Do Not Plays" and he followed everything to a T. :) He has his own recording studio so was even able to edit our Bride/Groom entrance song to the exact timing we asked for. Steve was always responsive during the planning process and happily met with us (out of his way!) in person to go over music details. Definitely hire Steve Gamlin/ Northstar Entertainment Agency for your wedding/special event! -

Steve Gamlin provided our services and was amazing! From the first song to the last song the dance floor was packed and our guests were having a ball! Steve was professional and fun and knew the songs to play to ensure that our guests had a fun time! SO glad we chose Steve. Just a wonderful person to work with! -

Steve Gamlin is an amazing DJ, he it truly the top of the line. Everything was announced smoothly, the music was perfect, and he knew exactly what to play to get/keep people dancing. He's a genuinely great guy, professional, fun, but not cheesy. I would recommend him over and over if I could! -

We had Steve Gamlin as our DJ and he was great! He was very thourough and made sure he had all of the information he needed ahead of time and double checked everything. He played all the music we liked and nothing that we had on our "no play list". All of our guests had a blast and so did we! -

The most amazing wedding band I have ever seen/heard at a wedding--and I am not being biased because I chose them. My guests could not stop commenting on how great they were. I had all of my guests young and old out on the dance floor because this 8 piece ensemble is unstoppable! -

Our band was Rare Form and they were absolutely amazing!!!! They were a pleasure to work with. Everything was perfect! The dance floor was packed all night long! They read the crowd really well. We received many many compliments about how fabulous our band was. I can't wait to hire them again!!! -

We has a great time working with Steve Gamlin, and the Northstar group in general. Steve completely nailed the wedding, and was very receptive to our music requests and preferences. We were very happy with our experience, and would completely recommend Steve to our friends. -

Boss Band was absolutely amazing at our wedding!!! They had everyone dancing from the second they walked into the reception! The music was perfect and exactly what we had asked for and they read the crowd really well and played to us.
During the planning, it was not that easy to contact Miles and and he wasn't extremely responsive, yet when we got closer to the day, he knew exactly what he was doing and it showed. It was just a little stressful during the planning, because he is not very active. But the bottom line, is that he knows what to do and does a great job! -

The band and string quartet through this were amazing, but the manager is so-so. He's got slick answers, but rarely returns phone calls. I hadn't heard from the band 1 month before the wedding and called to check in - he told me that they'd be calling within a week. I hadn't heard back, called several times without a response from the manager and then one week before the wedding heard from the band. The band told me it was totally normal to hear from them only a week before. The manager tells you what you want to hear to make you happy. The quartet was a different story, they called me two months ahead of time to go over everything, and it was lovely. But overall, I had a spectacular band and the string quartet was AMAZING. Use this guy to book Festiva Strings and the Knights band, but definitely try to talk to the band/quartet and don't bother leaving messages as he never returns them. -

I used Northstar Entertainment after the recommendation of my wedding venue Andover Country Club. I needed a piano player for my cocktail hour. The agency recommended that I go with Daniel Webster, because he was close to the venue and the venue itself had really liked him. He was a little higher then I wanted to pay but because of all the recommendations and his proximity to the venue I booked him. Northstar entertainment was quick to process contract and payment.
Fast forward to my wedding day and the piano player does not show up on time. (i only had him playing for 1 hour). Everyone is calling the agency and they keep saying he walking in the door, which he wasn't. I honestly think someone forgot about the event wether it was the pianist or the agency, not sure but he didn't show up on time. Needless to say, my venue Andover Country Club wasn't happy either because they had made the recommendation. My wedding planner contacted them while I was on my honeymoon and no calls were ever returned. -
