Highly recommend Rev. Crystal
Rev. Crystal was amazing to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant in Northern Michigan. Once we agreed on a contract and plan, we met over the phone/FaceTime multiple times leading up to our wedding date. She was very receptive to our wishes and suggestions, and we also loved the way she proceeded with the spaces of creative freedom we agreed on. We most loved how she incorporated fun and lighthearted, but very touching personal aspects of both my partner and I, making it feel so absolutely personal. Again, absolutely loved working with Rev. Crystal and thank her for everything she did! -

Could not have chosen a better minister
We are very grateful that we found Crystal as she really made our wedding extra special. She provided helpful ideas and feedback in writing our vows and took the time to really get to know us to make our ceremony extra meaningful. Crystal is a real gem! :-) -

Simplistic elegant ceremony
I don’t know what we would have done if we never found this officiant service. Everything was perfect and so personable! We were so nervous during our ceremony but she brought a calm. Everything went perfect and even though it was windy and some floral fell over she was not shaken and went with the flow and made everything so natural. I would 100/100 recommend to any of my friends getting married in the area. -

For a tailored, unique, and truly special ceremony, look no further!
We were so very blessed to have found Rev. Crystal to officiate our wedding!! From the many FaceTime calls to get to know us better to our meeting in person the summer before our wedding, we knew instantly when we contacted her the year before that we picked the perfect person to officiate our wedding. Our guests were deeply touched by the ceremony as were we. Great Personal Experience!
When we decided to get married up in the Traverse City area, we were very excited to find our venue and plan all of the details around our big day. Our wedding was truly a destination wedding for all of our friends and family. Since we were traveling in from Chicago, the biggest question we had was who would we find to marry us as we were not getting married in a church and we were not local. We wanted to find someone that would bring a personal touch and was trying to find the perfect person that could be a part of such an intimate moment in front of our friends and family. I had read some reviews and we based on great reviews, we went with Crystal. We opted to pay a bit more to have a more personal ceremony and it was one of the most unique and great ceremonies!! Guests commented on how personal it was and what a special ceremony it was. She spent time leading into the ceremony to really get to know us, and those close to us to create such a truly special ceremony for us. I would highly recommend Crystal to anyone looking for an Officiant!! She was so great!! -

Crystal is the best!!!
Crystal was the perfect fit for Ken and I. She took the time to get to know us and the details of our lives that she in turn incorporated into our wedding ceremony. She made us feel comfortable and at ease at being center of attention, which is hard for both of us to be. I couldn't have asked for a better person to officiant for us and help us along the way. She was always available and quickly responded to all of our questions. She had the perfect mix of serious and humor and seemed to know just what to say at the right time to make us feel like we knew her forever. Crystal is just awesome, and not sure how she pulled off the rainbow that appeared as we were pronounced man and wife but she sure impressed Ken and I. -

Wonderful experience
Crystal was amazing to work with! She spoke with my fiancé and I in a video chat to discuss different ceremony options and was very punctual in responding to my questions via email. During the ceremony she was sincere, professional, funny, and everything you would hope for in an officiant. She made sure neither of us "blacked out" during the ceremony and made it a relaxed environment where she pointed out certain things such as the birds chirping which brought us back into the moment instead of being nervous in front of a large crowd. After our ceremony was over, multiple people commented on what a wonderful job she did. We would highly recommend Crystal! -

Crystal did such an incredible job. She made our ceremony feel so personal and intimate. My husband and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. Genuine and Personable
When searching for a destination officiant we wanted someone that could incorporate tradition and modern while adding personal touches about us. We thought this would be impossible, but Reverend Crystal Yarlott, did all of these things, plus so much more. She wanted our ceremony to be about us, our love, and focus on things that are important to us. The entire process was a wonderful experience for us from phone calls to welcoming us into her home. Our guests all raved about the ceremony and how it perfectly represented us. -

So much time and effort go into planning a wedding, it’s easy to forget the most important part is when you actually get married! My wife and I got married in August, and I took over the responsibility of finding our officiant, one who was rated very highly but was also open minded since I has some fun surprises planned for our ceremony. Our wedding venue provided us a list of recommended officiants, and Reverend Crystal Yarlott was listed first. After emailing Rev. Crystal, she got back to me the same day, luckily letting me know she was available on our wedding day. Just a few weeks later, we scheduled a virtual meeting (since ours was a long-distance destination wedding) to get to know one another and discuss particulars. She was so fun to talk to, and it was quite obvious she’s passionate about her work. Over the following months we kept in contact, and she always responded quickly whenever we had questions. One thing we really enjoyed were the monthly newsletters she sent us, which always include helpful tips and advice, much of which we used. As the big day drew nearer, she continued to be supportive, and she worked with us as our vision of the ceremony became clearer and clearer. Since neither my wife nor I have been part of a wedding party before, we requested a rehearsal to ensure our big day went smoothly. Rev. Crystal was punctual, and it was so nice to finally meet her in person! On the day of the wedding, I was the first person to walk down the aisle, and it was comforting having Rev. Crystal’s gleaming face to walk toward! Since my wife and I had opted for a rehearsal, we had a general idea of how our ceremony would flow, but what we didn’t know was how Rev. Crystal had chosen to implement the personal anecdotes and details she knew about us from our discussions and those she’d had with our family to make it extra special, and she certainly did an amazing job! Our ceremony lived up to our perfect vision of what we hoped it might be, which rarely happens in life, and Rev. Crystal played a HUGE part in that! We couldn’t recommend her enough to be your officiant too! -

Crystal Yarlott served as the officiant for our wedding, and she was absolutely outstanding! We felt lucky to have found her, through the Northern Michigan wedding officiants website. Her style really worked for us. We live in Washington state, and married in Northport, MI as part of a family reunion. Crystal valued getting to know us as a couple, and spent time talking on the phone learning more about us. We tried a FaceTime call, it our internet connection is not so good where we live — on an island in WA. But we probably talked for an hour or so on the phone, and Crystal’s easy going and friendly demeanor helped her get to know us well, as it was simple to share our story with her. Her words at our wedding were just beautiful, and my family all raves about her! Very strong recommendation! -

We would like to thank Rev Crystal Yarlott from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible work she did on our wedding day! Her incredibly kind personality, loving energy, and connection to Source were unmatched. Rev Crystal created a special and customized ceremony that was completely unique to Ryan and I. We received an enormous amount of compliments from our guests for her sweet and caring message and presentation of love. We especially appreciate her willingness to meet with us beforehand and help facilitate the rehearsal. It was such a gift to have her beforehand and it made the actual ceremony much less intimidating! We also appreciate her partnership with the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, which made the process much easier as we were married at that location.
We are so thankful for everything she did behind the scenes that made a difference for us! Her customized stories and support for our love and marriage really made an impact. Reverend Crystal is so nice! She is very experienced, professional, and easy to talk to. I especially love how she donates part of her fee to an animal rescue. She's also quick to respond to your questions, knowledgeable, non-judgemental, and she offers quite a bit of variety so you can really make your wedding ceremony just how you want it! You only get one shot at choosing the right wedding officiant, and we are so happy that we chose Crystal. She was warm, and friendly. We were so excited to be married up north and weren't sure who to ask to officiate our big day. After reading other great reviews, we decided to have Reverend Crystal be a part of our special day! After meeting via FaceTime, we soon were even more excited for our wedding ceremony. Reverend Crystal spent time to get to know us as a couple. Our ceremony was personal and included what we love about each other. We were looking for a family ceremony with my husband's three children and she had an amazing sand ceremony option that was so special. We loved the ways she included our guests in the ceremony as well. Everyone commented on how our wedding ceremony perfectly captured the love my husband and I had for each other. We couldn't have been happier! We would (and already have) recommend Reverend Crystal to any one looking for those special personal touches to their ceremony! -

This is the most important part of the entire wedding process, and you want someone who will embrace who you are and celebrate that with family and friends. Crystal stayed true to the values that were important to my husband and I, and went above and beyond our expectations by adding in even more special touches that reflected our personalities. if you are looking for a genuine and spiritual ceremony, Crystal is amazing. We chose her for many reasons but one of them being that she is passionate about equality and will not use objectifying phrases like "man and wife". The majority of our guests commented on how wonderful the ceremony was and how much it touched them. Many said they cried! Both my father and sister changed their speeches at the wedding citing the ceremony and how it inspired them. Crystal has lots of choices of readings, vows, etc to choose from, from seriously sentimental to funny. You can incorporate more religious readings but she has lots of options for those who are more spiritual. You won't be disappointed! -

When looking for an officiant in Northern Michigan, Crystal is the best! She is responsive and takes the time to get to know you as a couple without being overbearing! I wanted to suprise my wife with a wedding renewal (10 yr anniversary) in a vineyard in the Leelanau Peninsula. I found the perfect winery and reserved a date. The challenge was to find an officiant who put thought into the renewal, and didn't just read a boilerplate renewal. Crystal came recommended to me. After a few phone conversations with Crystal (we live 4 hours away from each other), I was confident that she would provide a fantastic renewal. She cared about what I wanted in the renewal and involved our children into the ceremony and made it very personalized. I didn't meet Crystal until I arrived at the vineyard for the suprise with my wife. It was the perfect ceremony and I highly recommend Crystal for your wedding or renewal. Thank you Crystal! -

My husband and I got married last year on 6/13/15 at Grand Traverse Resort and we had Crystal officiate and our day could not have been more perfect. We found Crystal by doing some online searching and she seemed like a good fit so, we set up a meeting with her in Traverse City. She welcomed us into her home so graciously and we sat and chatted with her for about an hour. She made us feel so comfortable and was completely interested in getting to know about our relationship and what we wanted the tone of the wedding to be like. When we left Crystals house we felt so great about choosing her to officiate our special day. The ceremony went flawlessly and she spoke so eloquently about our past, our present and our future together. It was simply, beautiful. She has a great spirit and that really shines through when you meet her and when she officiates a ceremony. I highly, highly recommend her! -

Crystal did an absolutely fantastic job with our wedding! One of the biggest things we wanted in an Officiant was someone that would make our wedding about us, and she did just that. We did not have a clue who was going Marry us, and found her on line, therefore we were not 100% sure how we would like her. We are so happy that we went with her at the end of the day. We live in New York, therefore we were a bit concerned about finding someone that would be able to get to know us as a couple, and properly portray what we wanted said. She met with us while we were back in Traverse over Christmas, and also skyped with us a couple times. I would highly recommend Crystal to anyone, and had several friends and family members comment on how our wedding was one of the most personal they had been to in a long time. -

My husband and I couldn't have chosen a better officiant for our wedding. Reverend Crystal is very experienced, personable, fun and professional. She gave us the christian focused service we wanted and made it very personal to us, interjecting specific things about me and my husband throughout the ceremony. It seemed she had known us for years, however, we only met with her personally one time prior to the wedding. She is very attentive to details and knows the exact questions to ask in order to make it personal, which comes from her years of doing this I'm sure. We had many compliments on how beautiful it was! We absolutely loved having Crystal perform our wedding ceremony. She was very flexible -- not only willing but excited to welcome our dog (Charlie) as the ring bearer! She provided us with many sample ceremonies, and encouraged us to choose/create something special that felt completely appropriate to our love/life/beliefs. We couldn't have possibly asked for a more personal wedding experience! Crystal made it easy and was a total joy to work with-- and to get to know! We actually live in the mountains of New Mexico, but got married in Charlevoix, Michigan (where most of Les's large family still lives). The wedding was held on the old family farm where Les was raised, which his brother has now turned into a very nice event space. Crystal performed the ceremony outside, in the grass, under a charming/rustic grapevine arch decorated with hundreds of tiny flowers -- and then we had the reception in the barn -- where Crystal also performed a Unity Candle Ceremony for us prior to the cake cutting. There were some challenges to planning such a long-distance wedding... but working with Crystal was extremely easy (for instance, we Skyped our interview with her, and exchanged several emails -- we never actually met her in person until the day before the wedding). Based on our experience, I strongly recommend Crystal -- she is a lovely person! -

It was a pleasure and delight working with you. Even though our ceremony was quite small, and I had to make many date changes, you were always willing to help and be flexible. The actual ceremony itself was lovely, and both Robert and I were deeply moved by your words. I loved that you gave us a packet afterwards of the written ceremony. This will become a part of our marriage scrapbook, and I will be taking it out every year on our anniversary so that Robert and I can both revisit this special time in our lives.

The wedding ceremony was perfect, and she was available to help out before the ceremony with the order of the ceremony. The ceremony was perfect, it was loving and spiritual, but not overly religious since my husband and I aren't very religious. I would recommend her services to anyone that needs an officiant for their wedding. -

I really liked that Crystal met with us via Skype before the ceremony, and got to know us better. Her ceremony style was exactly what we were looking for with our plans for a laid-back wedding. She included our dog in the ceremony with enthusiasm as well! -

Working with Crystal was one of the BEST decisions I've ever made. Planning a wedding long distance was a bit more stressful than I had anticipated, but working with Crystal helped make things so much easier. From flexibility scheduling the consultation appointments to how helpful she was collecting the marriage license, working with her really did remove a lot of pressure. After meeting with her a couple of times before the weding, it wasn't difficult to feel like we had made a new friend - Crystal's professional and personal demeanor is respectful and gentle but she is a riot and so much fun to be around. I would like to have Crystal as a friend and when it came time for the day of our wedding, it was so reassuring to have someone leading the ceremony that we feel like we knew well and that knew us. It brought a dimension of comfort to the day that I hadn't been anticipating I might need. We have gotten so many compliments from our wedding guests about what a great job Crystal did. The ceremony was short, which we had wanted, but she was able to get a lot of emotion and touching anectdotes into the 20 minute experience. Literally every guest that we have seen since the wedding was so impressed with the job Crystal did and has told us how much they enjoyed the ceremony.
If I had to do this over again, I would pick Crystal every single time and I would strongly recommend her to any of my friends getting married in northern MI. I love ya Crystal!! -

I originally chose Crystal due to my need for a non denomination and frankly a non-religious ceremony. She was happy to oblige and had many ideas on what we could do to make it feel a little formal for my husband's family. It was beautiful.
We skyped with her since we were in Boston with the time and she was so warm and friendly that we knew she had to be a part of our wedding. We're glad she was - she definitely made things easy and delightful.

Rev. Crystal was wonderful to work with. We planned our wedding from long distance and Crystal did everything she could to facilitate the process and make sure our event exceeded our expectations. She even FaceTimed with us so we could build a connection prior to the wedding. She is a super sweet and kind person, and speaks very eloquently. -

Rev. Crystal Yarlott was a very sweet and kind hearted person. She has a contagious smile and a wonderful presence about her. She donates 10% of her fee to animal rescue organization of your choosing. Very pleased with the ceremony and presence she gave at our wedding. Make sure you look over your vows once the options are given to you with your fiance. It is important to have this done in order to discuss options at you meeting with her. -

Crystal performed our wedding ceremony and she just did an amazing job. We got so many compliments about the service from guests at the wedding. It was a great blend of humor, spirituality, and joy. We had not originally asked her to come to the rehearsal, but decided later on that it would be better to have her there, since we were having kids in the wedding. She was great about it, and was able to come even with the late notice, and it was a huge help that she did. When I think about the wedding, I can't imagine having had anyone else perform the ceremony. -

Great, Personalized Ceremony from Crystal!
Crystal took the time to get to know my husband and I before the ceremony which helped to craft a more personalized experience. The ceremony did not feel "run of the mill" at all and was perfect for our intimate ceremony. Crystal was very responsive and available for all questions we had. She was also available via Facetime which helped us develop a closer relationship with her as well! Go with Crystal if you're looking for a unique ceremony! -

Recently, Rev. Crystal Yarlott officiated at our ELOPEMENT ceremony. We hope that others will benefit from hearing of our experiences with this insensitive officiate. Regretfully we wrote her “Thank You” letter BEFORE the ceremony ever took place.
Rev. Crystal Yarlott suggests a 12- step group for compulsive eaters to the newlyweds!
While making arrangements Yarlott asked if she could take pictures of us for her websites, we politely declined for privacy reasons. After the wedding she asked again as she readied to snap a photo... this made us anxious. We declined. She then offered a photo for a personal keepsake only, we happily agreed. We’re excited as her email would contain the ONLY existing photo taken on our wedding day! Her email arrives, but there’s no photo.Why? Her reason: SHE DID NOT THINK WE TOOK A GOOD PICTURE! What?? Wouldn’t WE be the ones to make that decision? QUOTE: “The photo didn't come out very well ... I am a member of CEA-HOW a 12 step group for compulsive eaters, and I know what it's like to not want my picture taken. “
WHAT?!! 12 step what?? Compulsive eaters?! We couldn’t believe we were reading this from the woman who just officiated our wedding! We’re both in shock and deeply hurt. We NEVER mentioned not wanting our picture taken because of our weight. We had told her we are simple and private people who work AND are caretakers for the elderly. Agreed we have weight issues, but what type of person suggestions to the bride and groom one of her old 12-step programs on their honeymoon?! You can imagine how we felt...and how you would feel. Are you willing to RISK your special day on this unrestrained and ill-mannered wild card? Once damage is done, you can NEVER go back and repair the memories. -

Disrespected
When we first met with Crystal, had a small disagreement on how the bride should be handed from the father to the groom. We talked about it and came to an understand. However, a few weeks before our wedding we received the itinerary for how she would do the ceremony and it did not reflect the changes that my husband and I had asked for. We reached out via email and again had a small disagreement about how that part of the ceremony should go. We expressed that it was important to us to have it said the traditional way and Crystal agreed to do it this way. HOWEVER, the day of the wedding Crystal completely ignored our wishes and did it her way instead. This felt extremely disrespectful towards me and my husband on our wedding day. If we would have known that she was just lying about how she would do that part of the ceremony, we would have found another officiant (regardless of the non-refundable deposited). We just feel disrespected, lied to, and now will have a reminded of this every time we watch our wedding video. Very sad. If you disagree with something that Crystal has in her ceremonies I suggest finding someone else! -
