Absolutely book Lorel! She was responsive when we contacted her; inclusive in creating the repertoire/playlist; and played beautifully at our ceremony. The performance was a great value for the money and made our day incredibly special. Lorel is also just such a lovely person - she felt like family by the end of the day! -

We cannot say enough positives about Laurel with North Light Strings. Our ceremony experienced a delay with the start time, she continued to play filling the wait time seamlessly. Family members approached her with requests and she accommodated in a professional and friendly manner. Our ceremony was everything we could have imagined and we could not picture it without Lorel.

Lorel was amazing! Responded promptly and with great ideas of music for my daughters wedding. I was worried that one violin wouldn’t be enough for the large church my daughters wedding was in. Lorel assured me that the acoustics in these older cathedrals would be enough to carry the sound. She was right. It’s was beautiful and classic. She also worked with a young girl that sang the Ava Maria and together the created the most beautiful music I had ever heard. People are still talking about it. Her prices are reasonable and she’s very flexible. I highly recommend her!!!! -

Lorel was wonderful
Lorel really completed our perfect wedding ceremony. She was great to work with in advance, had a large selection of music including classical pieces and more modern songs, and even was able to learn our requested song, as it was not in her repertoire previously. Her music is absolutely beautiful, and our guests said she was a true compliment to the sentiment of our ceremony. I would hire Lorel again in a heartbeat -- you won't regret it! Thank you for everything!! -

Laura Sent on 09/12/2017Northern Lights Strings played music for my wedding ceremony last month. While I don't remember much of my actual wedding ceremony, the glimpses that I do recall were filled with lovely string music, courtesy of Northern Lights. They have more options of music than the samples on their website, and Lorel was so accomodating and easy to work with in the planning process. A week after the wedding, she even wrote my mom a thank you note for the gratuity - I think our feelings of gratitude were mutual! I definitely recommend NLS for those brides looking around. These ladies are down to earth and know their craft. -

Lorel is a professional. Her music is polished. She provides very clear communication. She made our ceremony magical: violin music drifting in the wind for our intimate ceremony on the rocky Maine coastline of Cape Elizabeth. We were extremely happy with her services. Her presence was joyful and she melted right into the dance of it all. -

We were married in the middle of COVID so this was a unique experience. We had a very small gathering with just family. The violin was a very nice touch to our intimate ceremony. I would recommend Lorel for any wedding day.
