  A Stunning Lakefront Venue Filled with Love

  The North Shore House is a family owned and operated venue that leaves everyone who visits, feeling like family. From the moment we met with the team, through the EASY planning process, to our romantically rainy-day wedding, and after... they made it perfect. Excellent communication, clear package pricing options, flexible with requests, works well with vendors, impeccable food and service, just incredible hospitality for those staying the full weekend in the Inn.
  When our day was destined to be rained out; the North Shore House created the most intimate, and romantic ceremony and reception that exceeded everyone's expectations - as a Bride & Groom it felt like a big hug having everyone right there with us. All my guests were blown away by their team assisting with parking as the guests arrived, and then stationing themselves to create a tunnel of umbrellas to keep each guest dry as they entered.
  I would do it all over again, exactly the way we planned. A+B

  North Shore house is the best!!

  We knew that the North Shore House would be our wedding venue from the moment we walked in for the first time. We fell in love right away with how beautiful it is, both inside and especially outside by the lake. We were already convinced by that alone, then we met Eric, Kelly, Emma, and the rest of the staff who were so kind, professional, accommodating, and wonderful to work with that we were even more certain. We then went for a food tasting and were blown away. The food is amazing. (Don’t just book a wedding there for the food, go to the tavern and have dinner there. You’ll be glad you did.) Every single aspect of the planning from day one was made so easy by the staff. They made us feel special, like we were their most important clients ever. The people there are just absolutely the best, that can’t be emphasized enough. Then there’s the venue itself. The grounds outside by the lake where our ceremony and cocktail hour were are absolutely gorgeous. It’s all very well kept and you won’t find a more beautiful spot to get married. Inside where we had the reception has all been refinished and is just stunning. We loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the whole place. It’s not glitz and glamour, it’s classy and elegant and perfect. There are also a dozen or so rooms on the second and third floors, which we loved because we were able to stay the night with our family and friends after the wedding. The rooms are all refinished recently too and are equally beautiful. Let’s talk food. We did all night hors d'oeuvres rather than a traditional dinner, and the food was amazing. There was passed food as well as stations, and never a shortage. Everyone there said the food was great, zero complaints. There was so much, I couldn’t possibly list everything we had so I won’t even try. But it was SO. GOOD. If you’re thinking that maybe this is your kind of place for your wedding, don’t even think twice about it. There is no maybe. It’s definitely the place. We can’t thank the staff enough for everything they all did to make our wedding perfect. We love that we can even go back, eat at the tavern, and book a room for an anniversary perhaps. We couldn’t be happier that we chose The North Shore house!

  Our Wedding Weekend at North Shore House

  My wife and I wanted our wedding to be a weekend experience, where we would feel the warmth of a home and the beauty of nature. We were given that and more at North Shore House.
  
  I was not surprised to hear that the Van der Haeghens receive Christmas Cards and Overnight Anniversary Reservations from past Wedding Couples. During the time that you spend there, they make you feel like you are a member of their family.
  
  We had to stretch our budget a little bit to include a Friday Night Rehersal Dinner in the courtyard, but would not change a single thing. It was the wedding weekend we had dreamed of and more.

  So happy we went with the North Shore House for our big day!

  Eric and the North Shore House family helped us make the easiest decision for our wedding, where it was going to happen. The North Shore House was exactly what we wanted, a beautiful waterside venue with amenities to enjoy for all. Being able to stay on property for our after party and wedding night was the icing on the cake, but the centerpiece was of course the stunning peninsula for the ceremony. It didn’t take much to add our own personal touches, and the staff was great from beginning to end. We wouldn’t have held our wedding anywhere else and look forward to visiting for anniversaries to come!

  Excellent, elegant, we are so happy

  We were married at the north shore house 9.30.22 and it was nothing short of perfection
  From beginning to end Kelly and Eric were so helpful, every little detail was taken care of, went above and beyond for us and really made our day so special. They helped us with details I didn’t even think of and made everything go SO SMOOTH
  The food, incredible, the grounds, so well kept, the drinks, strong!
  I am so grateful to have been able to have such a special day at such a beautiful location, I don’t think I could’ve asked for anything more!
  Most importantly, we had fun, so so much fun

  Hidden gem of Sussex County, NJ!!

  We fell in love with this venue the first time we visited. The setting, size, and decor were perfect. We even did our engagement photos across the lake at Swartswood Park. Eric and Kelly were pleasant, easy to work with, and friendly. They didn't pressure us and were willing to work with us. They made planning a wedding easy and fun because they knew how to make our day perfect. We can't say enough wonderful things about the staff on the wedding day. Their service was exceptional; from the bridal assistant to the team during the reception, it made it easy for us to enjoy our day without worries. New Jersey’s best-kept wedding venue secret. Top-notch wedding venue! We recommend that anyone book for their wedding or event or go to the Blue Heron for dinner. You won't be disappointed. Thank you so much, Eric, Kelly, and the team! You made our day extraordinarily.

  Met Every Expectation We Had!!!

  We could not have asked for more from a venue!! Everything from the attention to guests, to the food, to how smoothly our big day went was absolutely amazing. We did not have a wedding planner so chose to go with the top package available where the venue acted as our planner and we couldn't have been happier. We got rave reviews from all our guests and were so happy with how amazing the day was. If you are looking to get married in this area we highly recommend The North Shore House and Kelly!!!

  Perfect venue!

  Our entire experience with them was fantastic! Our daughter was a COVID bride- wedding was postponed for 2 years. When our previous venue screwed us over, we were lucky to find The North Shore House. From the very beginning, we were treated with care, respect, and compassion. They bent over backwards to give us the perfect weekend. We had the rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and wedding there. Kelly and Eric, along with the entire staff, made us feel like family! Any glitch ( none of which were the fault of the venue- fallen tree took out power lines due to wind, and they have generators) was handled with quiet efficiency, and nothing stood in the way of the perfect wedding!!! We recommend them to anyone!!!! Gorgeous lakefront setting, beautiful old buildings, incredibly delicious food, wonderful accommodations, and amazing people… the perfect combination for a perfect wedding! This is the best place to have a wedding, or any event!!!!

  Absolutely perfect experience with on-site rooms

  Hosting our wedding at North Shore House was the best decision. From the first 2-hour long viewing to the checkout the morning after the wedding, we felt treated as perfectly as one could imagine. The ambience is beautiful with the lake front and the many custom-designed spaces around the property. Most importantly, North Shore House is not a wedding factory like many others. We had the space exclusively to ourselves for the days of and around the wedding and Eric, Kelly and the team were always open to individual wishes or ideas. So, we had specific German beer, custom chairs and other decorations. Also they were personable yet professional along the way and did whatever it took to honor our and all guests' needs. Lastly, the quality of the food is impeccable, so that we came multiple times for dinner leading up to our wedding and always loved everything. The food & drink choices for the wedding day were extensive and as we went with several food stations and passed appetizers along with a plated salad and buffet, we received many compliments for the food from our guests. Finally, we never felt this was about the commercial benefit, but North Shore House truly wanted to create the best experience for us every single step along the way - something that we can't praise highly enough during a time with COVID that put every venue under pressure.

  Absolutely Breathtaking Venue and Accommodating Hosts!

  North Shore House was focused on every little detail to give us a terrific wedding! It must be an absolute headache to host a pandemic wedding, but they were incredibly professional and hospitable! I'm a trained chef from a culinary background and have very high standards for my food. The chef there not only met expectations, but exceeded. Highly recommended!

  Beautiful wedding experience

  My daughter had the privilege of marrying her best friend at this perfect venue. The location is stunning, right on the lake. The staff was wonderful to work with, accommodating us well within the current climate of a pandemic. The lodging was all beautiful, and the food was delicious. We could not have been happier with our choice! It was lovely to wake up the next day and still enjoy our guests, and the atmosphere, with a relaxing breakfast outside. Thank you so much, North Shore House!

  Our Dream Wedding

  My husband and I were married at the North Shore House and it was everything we had dreamed it would be! The staff was very professional, the food was superb (especially the crab cakes, my guests are still talking about them!), and the views from the lake are beautiful. Eric, Louise, and Kelly put my mind at ease while moving forward with the planning process and last minute changes. I loved that the venue has one wedding a weekend and that my guests were able to relax by the lake any time before or after the wedding. If you are looking for a venue that provides beautiful scenery, excellent food, professional and accommodating staff, and a place your guests will be still be raving about after the event, than the North Shore is the place for your wedding!

  Incredible experience!

  We are so glad we found North Shore House! Our wedding was postponed due to COVID, and due to circumstances at the pervious venue we had to move. From the last-minute visit in the middle of December to view the venue, through leaving Sunday after the wedding, they made everything as simple and easy as possible.
  
  We chose to stay the whole weekend, arriving Friday and leaving Sunday. We did our rehearsal dinner and after party on site, and utilized the hotel rooms above the restaurant as well. The hotel was amazing, and had some of the most comfortable beds we have slept in in a long time. Each meal was just excellent. Dietary needs were always considered, and all the food was fresh and delicious. The flourless/allergen friendly chocolate cake was mind blowing.
  
  Everything contributed to a great experience. The hotel rooms, the food, the staff, the location, everything was incredible, and every person who works here was so kind, helpful, and accommodating.
  Guests are still telling us about something or someone that made the day even more memorable (beyond the whole marriage part), and we have received so many comments on how the staff went above and beyond to ensure our guests had the best possible experience. There was a bad traffic accident that closed the road outside the venue, and a downed tree that damaged some power lines, but Eric had such seamless coordination with the local fire and police departments that as the bride I didn’t know anything was wrong at first. We had to delay the start of the ceremony due to one of the guest busses being stuck, but Louise generously offered to extend our end time to accommodate the delay for no extra cost.
  
  We cannot recommend enough that you should hold your wedding or other celebration at North Shore House. Be it for the day or for the weekend, Eric, Kelly, Louise, and everyone else made us feel incredibly well taken care of, and we hope you allow them to do the same for you on your special day!

We had to delay the start of the ceremony due to one of the guest busses being stuck, but Louise generously offered to extend our end time to accommodate the delay for no extra cost.
  
  We cannot recommend enough that you should hold your wedding or other celebration at North Shore House. Be it for the day or for the weekend, Eric, Kelly, Louise, and everyone else made us feel incredibly well taken care of, and we hope you allow them to do the same for you on your special day!

  Magical Venue!

  You don’t have to look anywhere else! The North Shore House is THE place to get married. From the location, to the food, and people running the show… everything was absolutely perfect. I cannot thank the North Shore House enough for working with me through a pandemic. Everyone was so patient, supportive, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. My guests haven't stopped talking about our day! Thank you, The North Shore House. My wedding was perfect because of you.

  Absolute perfection’

  I had my wedding at North Shore House and it was 100% perfection! The entire planning process was a breeze - Eric and Kelly were on top of everything from day one. During the initial process they weren’t pushy and the family-owned work ethic really shows through in everything that they do. Firstly, the venue is absolutely gorgeous! The lakeside views are to die for, and the indoor space is just as beautiful. The bridal suite was finely detailed - they really though of every single detail when renovating it. The lighting is great for photos, there are so many mirrors for getting ready, a hair/makeup chair with plenty of outlets, the bathroom has double sinks and great toiletries - really top notch from top to bottom. While it did rain on my wedding day and we had to move the ceremony inside, the views were still outstanding. They tried to do everything in their power to wait as long as possible to make the call because they knew how much we wanted it outside, and I appreciated their flexibility so much. They made the indoor ceremony as beautiful and special as humanly possible. During the cocktail hour they made sure that my husband and I (and our bridal party/ family) had drinks and food while we finished photos. And speaking of food, it is five star quality - both at the restaurant and the wedding, the best meals I’ve ever had. Their chef is amazing and took into consideration that myself (and a few guests) have food allergies and made it clear to us what was safe for us to eat. And the service...it honestly spoiled me. I don’t think I’ve ever had such amazing service and nothing will ever stand up to my experience at NSH. They went above and beyond on a few occasions for myself and for guests also that night. As the night dwindled down, the guests who were staying on site at NSH were invited to stay for an after party. For a small additional cost, they provided a bucket full of the most popular drinks from the night. And the owner was super flexible with letting us stay until almost 12:30am when she (understandably) had to go to bed and lock up the bar. Honestly, the fact that she stayed up that late for us to continue to party was incredibly selfless and very much appreciated.

  BEAUTIFUL venue/restaurant

  The North Shore House is a beautiful venue/restaurant. Eric and his family were so easy to work with. We had to switch our rehearsal dinner date because of the Pandemic and they were so flexible with the changes. Our entire bridal party stayed in the hotel rooms and my husband and I stayed in their bridal suite. Their suite was gorgeous! Very clean, cozy, and secluded. The food is FANTASTIC and the hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful. Our guests were in AW. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!
