  We worked with Jeff at Niland and Company to make custom rings. Jeff is a true artist and craftsman and we wound up with really, really lovely rings that had both our input and his vision added in. He's got a somewhat flexible sense of timing, so our rings were ready in 2.5 months instead of 3 weeks, but that worked well for us since we went in about 5 months ahead of the wedding. However, had we had a firm deadline, I have zero doubts that he would have worked to make sure we had our rings on time. I love that we have a jeweler now!

  Despite some less-than-glowing reviews here and on some other sites, my fiance and I decided to have my engagement ring made here. We already had a stone and were looking for a simple, elegant setting. Niland is very close to where I work, and seemed to offer the best value for the sort of work we were hoping to have done.
  
  When we met with Jeff, I showed him some pictures of what I had in mind then he walked me around the store (which, OMG, is beautiful!) pointing out details in other rings to get a clearer sense of what I wanted. He quoted us a very good price and said he thought he'd have the ring completed in a week. Well, the ring wound up taking 2 weeks--which is still plenty fast--and costing $50 over what he originally quoted us. Also, it required some effort on our part to check in with him periodically to see how things were coming along. But I'm overjoyed by the end results! My ring is just what I had imagined, and I will definitely be using Niland again.

  My fiance got my engagement ring from Jeff. He was quoted one price, and when the ring was finished, Jeff charged him an additional $2000 over the agreed-upon price for my 2+ carat platinum ring.
  
  We later realized that the ring was actually white gold, not platinum, as my husband had paid for. Jeff re-made the ring, but it took over a month to correct the issue. Upon taking it to a local jeweler to get appraised after finally getting the ring back, the jeweler found two chips in the center stone. Jeff tried to blame me for the chips, even though one was underneath one of the prongs, so it was obviously already chipped when the prong was put on. Jeff refused to admit that he gave me a chipped diamond, so I had to file an insurance claim. When I asked him to pay for the amount of the insurance deductible, he stopped responding to my emails.
  
  This guy is a FRAUD. His business is a SCAM. He scammed my fiance out of an additional $2000 for the ring, gave him a gold ring when he ordered platinum, and gave us a chipped diamond. Do not trust him!!

  DO NOT SPEND ANY TIME OR MONEY AT THIS "JEWELER"
  He lost a precious family heirloom "down the drain" (that was his only explanation!) and as retribution to "make my dream ring" he provided something that was not even wearable.
  
  We had high hopes for this local shop, but have since been no less than enraged at how poor his professionalism and quality of work are. (Note that we were nothing but polite during the entire ordeal.)
  
  After losing my fiance's deceased mother's engagement ring, Jeff agreed to create an engagement ring and a wedding band for me and a wedding band for my fiance. Jeff consistently delivered items weeks after he said they'd be completed, and 2 sizes too big--despite having written down the sizes multiple times. He delivered the wrong band entirely for my fiance (though that was the correct size).
  
  Over a period of 6 months, I've had to have 8 small stones in the engagement ring replaced. This is unacceptable. I had 2 separate independent jewelers appraise the engagement ring and they both reported that the craftsmanship is so poor that they'd "never put their name to something like that." The replacement stones could barely be classified as diamonds.
  
  The wedding band is missing stones in the halos (Jeff said that was "intentional") and is oval in shape since it was created in the wrong size. The rings are completely worthless and unusable.
  
  Do NOT patronize this business (I'm not even sure how he's still in business).
