I followed Nicole’s Instagram before I was even engaged. Every picture evoked an emotion in me like I knew these couples and they were all so beautiful. I knew that I needed her as my wedding photographer. After I got engaged, I saw she posted that she only had certain dates available for the month I wanted to get married, so I reached out to the venue to make sure they had that date available and booked her immediately! From the very beginning, she treats your wedding like it’s the only one she’s doing, and believe me she is booked and busy. You feel like you are a priority, she’s genuinely excited for you and your day, and then on top of that she’s a magician behind the camera. Her communication is top notch as well.
Her vibe is exactly how I wanted our wedding portrayed. Romantic, natural, with some direction and not over powered with staged photos. Also her turn around time is impressive with previews and full galleries. Also get the Fuji film! You won’t regret it.
I felt so lucky to be able to have her photograph this important day, and she captured everything perfectly. She also took amazing pictures of our dog, who was a part of our wedding, and we will cherish them forever. I really hope I can work with her again in the future. -

We couldn’t be more grateful!
We can’t say enough good things about Nicole. From the start, she was transparent, easygoing, and communicative. She was happy to answer any questions and work with us to tweak our timeline to match our wedding day plans. We knew she was talented, but we are in absolute AWE of our photos. They capture the exact feel of our day, and really match the venue and vibe of our wedding. We told her that what was really important to us was capturing not only us and our special moments, but also the moments of our guests, and she totally nailed that. We had 170 guests at our wedding, so we went with the second photographer which we would absolutely recommend in order to get a full view of the day. We also recommend the film add-on…the photos are SO dreamy. -

Nicole was the first vendor I reached out to after getting a date from the ceremony venue and I am so glad I did! She was out of our initial price range, but her talent is undeniable so I was really set on booking her. We have had friends admit to skimping on the photo budget and hugely regretting it, so I am so glad we decided to book Nicole!
Nicole was an absolute dream to work with and incredibly professional. After she gave us a sample timeline, we really did not need to do much for photos. My husband and I have both stood in several weddings and Nicole has honestly been the best photographer. I know everyone probably says that about their own wedding, but we have been in weddings with photographers giving copious directions/discussion, making inappropriate jokes, screaming, or forcing endless, overly-engineered poses. None of that with Nicole, she is truly the best of the best! Everyone was absolutely blown away by how STUNNING her final photos were!
If you like her style, absolutely book her (early)! It is incredibly impressive that she stands behind all of her work and posts every wedding she shoots on her social media/website. After following her work for YEARS now and having her at our own wedding, I can assure you that the breathtaking photos you see are the ones you get. Dreamy and romantic
Nicole is absolutely amazing to work with and nothing compares to the way she captures love!! From the planning stages to day-of and follow up after, we truly could not have asked for a more personable and professional photographer for the most memorable day. Nicole is a professional and an artist. We chose our wedding date based on her availability and we are incredibly thankful we did! Nicole was the first vendor we booked after our wedding venue, and from the moment we booked her (a year and a half in advance of our wedding) until post-wedding, she was nothing short of exceptional. Not only did she capture the most beautiful and genuine moments of our day, but she did it in a way that felt so effortless and natural. The photos are TRULY beyond what we could have ever imagined, and every time we look at them, we're reminded of all the joy and love we felt. That's ALL thanks to Nicole's incredible talent.
But it wasn't just about the photos (though they are amazing)—it was about the experience of working with her. Nicole was always super communicative and made sure to respond ASAP to any questions we had sent her over email, which made wedding planning that much easier. We knew we could rely on her to guide us or provide good advice. And on the day of the wedding, she was such a calming presence, it felt like we had a friend there with us, not just a photographer. Nicole is the best! Look no further!
Having Nicole as my wedding photographer was a no brainer. Her work speaks for itself. It’s moody, expressive, and timeless. She doesn’t just capture your wedding, but more so, her photography tells your love story. She has such a good eye for not only the usual wedding shots but also the more artistic ones that I was looking for. She was a dream to work with from the very first time I reached out. From our engagement shoot, to the wedding, and to the very end with receiving all of our edited wedding photos. She was communicative, answering all of my many questions with ease, and even helped me figure out what other vendors I wanted to use that she worked well with. She didn’t go more than 24 hours without emailing me back EVER. It was so amazing as a nervous bride to have a vendor who was truly there to help. She brought a mellow, calming energy to my wedding day that was so very appreciated. On the actual wedding day she was like a well oiled machine. She arrived on time and got right to work. After the wedding she got my photos back to me quickly and all were edited and looking gorgeous. A nice touch is that while you are waiting for your photos to be ready, she writes a blog post with a bunch of them so you and your family can get a sneak peak! She truly brought my vision to life and documented every detail that we spent so much time and effort on. I would 10/10 recommend Nicole for any of your photography needs. Tl;dr version:
If you CAN hire Nicole for your wedding and you DON’T, then you are a very silly person. Stop looking now - if she’s available, this is the last review of a wedding photographer you’ll ever need to read.
Long version:
If we could do our wedding all over again with unlimited resources, a few things might have been different. We may have invited a hundred more people, opted for filet mignon and lobster entrees, arrived in classic Bentley’s, and rented a venue twice the size with a private creek running through the building. But when it comes to wedding photography, I can’t imagine going with anyone other than Nicole Nero.
My wife is a designer and I work in marketing so I’d say we have pretty discerning visual tastes. We looked at the first four or five photographers on our venue’s vendor list; some were pretty good and we ranked them and sent out a couple emails. When we found Nicole, we stopped our search. Her style was so perfectly us: her photos had that warm hipster-y quality while still feeling very natural and letting the personalities of the subjects shine through. The photos let the people captured be themselves, but the most elevated versions of themselves. We reached out in August 2021 for our October 23, 2022 wedding and it was one of few remaining dates on her calendar so DON’T WAIT to lock in your vendors people!
I learned immediately that Nicole prides herself on her fast response time. She was incredibly communicative; I’ve noticed she frequently updates her email auto-response with her almost-weekly plans so that her clients can set expectations accordingly. Even during her busiest times of year, an email never went more than a day or two without a response.
One of my most favorite things about Nicole is that you’re not just getting a photographer - you’re also getting an experienced wedding consultant and a valuable member of your TEAM. She has worked a million weddings, she knows what works and what doesn’t work, and is more than happy to share her wisdom and insight with you. We scheduled a video call to introduce ourselves and go over our vision and she mocked up an entire schedule for our wedding, giving us advice on the sequence of courses, speeches, dances, etc. She gave us her impressions of the other vendors we booked and recommended the hair/makeup people that we ended up using. Our venue provided a coordinator/planner who was great...but we always deferred to Nicole’s advice. We checked in with her a bunch in the year leading up to our wedding and she remained helpful, responsive, and enthusiastic. For real. I know a vendor kinda has to appear like they’re excited for every client - but I truly believed Nicole was (almost) as excited for our wedding as we were. You can tell she loves her work and we were so on the same page as her and lucky to have her along our journey.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Nicole was her attentive self. She checked in with us the day before, we exchanged numbers, and locked in all the final details of scheduling. On our big day, she showed up exactly on time to-the-minute. Working with her in person was just as seamless as over email. She gave clear directions but also went with the flow and was happy to work with us if we had a spontaneous idea for a shot. She was incredibly kind to our families and friends, and even gave our maid of honor a lift from the hotel to the ceremony site. For the first look and couples portraits, she made it all feel so natural and effortless. You’d think smooching your fiance a bunch of times just a few feet in front of someone you met that day would be super awkward, but Nicole is such a pro. We were really able to lose ourselves in the moment and I give her a lot of the credit.
Once the festivities start, Nicole becomes a ninja...and not just because she’s wearing all black. We got so many comments about how stealthy and unassuming Nicole was during the ceremony. When your wedding day comes, you’ll find that some of the best vendors are the ones you don’t even notice, and Nicole somehow just dissolved into the scenery once the party started. At the same time, she always seemed to have eyes on us. If something magical happened, Nicole was there. If we were looking for her, she’d magically appear. We had gone over some key events ahead of time (costume change, hora, cupcake bites) and she was always ready to capture them. Between her impeccable planning and perfect intuition, she is always in the right place at the right time.
When it came time for Nicole to leave, we hugged her twice. At this point, she had become so entwined with this incredible moment in our lives that we couldn’t help but think of her as a friend. Plus, she likes her wardrobe and coffee black and is outspoken about progressive causes so we had a lot in common! Nicole is as wonderful a person as she is a photographer. We live down in Brooklyn but we’ll definitely reach out to her about meeting up whenever we’re in the capital region....just not on a weekend because she’s probably BOOKED! :)
Finally: the photos. They are, of course, perfect. We look at them all the time. There is a black and white getting-ready photo of my wife that is the greatest photo that anyone has ever taken of a person in the history of photos. So many amazing smiles, laughs, tears, and special moments perfectly captured. The pictures of our parents being lifted up on chairs during the hora are priceless and still get a laugh out of me. We purchased an album from Nicole and we’re in the process of laying it out with her. We plan on getting many more prints made to put around our home and gift to family members.
In summary: a better wedding photographer does not exist. Nicole goes above and beyond for her couples. Our wedding was so amazing, my wife and I always say we want to do it again and again and again every year....if we could, we would hire Nicole Nero every single time. -

Nicole Nero is bottled magic
The subject line of Nicole’s first email to us was “Let’s make magic” and that is exactly what she did. Her photos transport you back to the best day of your life and capture not only what you experienced but how you felt when you experienced it, the smell of your bouquet, the beat of your heart, the warmth and love felt with family and friends. She does it so well, so quickly, and with such artistry, like magic, you almost forget she’s there. And if that didn’t already wow us enough, for her best act, Nicole turned around our wedding photos in only 13 days.
Choosing a photographer is the most important decision in the wedding planning process. When the wedding ends, the champagne is popped, and you settle into married life , the photos become the closest thing you have to relive the day again. Thank you Nicole for the gift you have given to us and to our family. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to freeze time and for bottling the magic of the day. We appreciate you more than you know and will continue to be under your spell for many years to come. -

Book Nicole before you do anything else!
Hiring Nicole was one of the best decisions we made as part of our wedding day. I don't know how she had our date avail, with everything ramping up after COVID, but thank goodness she was. She was the first vendor I secured after booking the venue.
I didn't talk to a lot of photographers before I met Nicole, but I had spoken with a few who had different vibes, who I ultimately didn't think would fit my personality. A lot of vendors were actually booked already, but then I was referred to Nicole and knew instantly that she was the right photographer. I think with vendors, you have to trust your gut, especially with how they communicate. She was very fast in getting back to me, spoke to me on the phone a few times before booking, and fielded my million questions, all with patience and grace. She was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, letting me know how she would manage the schedule, guide my hubby who doesn't smile in photos much (spoiler alert, he was so happy that wasn't an issue lol), and was SO FAST in getting our photos back to us. People I know who got married around the same time as us waited MONTHS for theirs. We ordered the album as well which is GORGEOUS. Every single penny spent was worth it. She also suggested Love N Pixels for a videographer. They've worked together before and were an amazing team! Fun fact, after our wedding I found a blog I had saved of Nicole's work way before I we even got engaged, so this really was destiny!

Nicole is literally the most amazing person and photographer you could ever dream of hiring for your wedding! From the very first phone call I knew Nicole was going to be the best fit for us. She is thoughtful, professional, and such a great nice person to be around. So easy to get along with.
Our original date was set for 8/8/2020, of course Covid ruined that for us, but Nicole made it so incredibly easy to change to our new date for the next year.
Leading up to the wedding Nicole really helped with so much, including the time line. Day of everything went great. Even had some extra time before ceremony and got in some extra shots of just my husband and I.
We've had multiple shoots now with Nicole, she even went along with my ridiculous idea of doing a shoot here post honeymoon with us and the cats 🐈. All of our photos are amazing, she made me feel so comfortable when I never really loved having my photo taken. We love Nicole so much and all the beautiful photos we now have to remember our amazing day 🥰❤️

There are not enough good things to say about Nicole.
From day 1 she was responsive and clear about her style of photos and what she stands for! Nicole was always very transparent in communication before, during and even after our special day. She will not leave you high and dry! She even creates a structured itinerary that helps guide your wedding day.
When we met in person, Nicole and I clicked immediately, it was if I knew her my entire life she is so sweet! Nicole was there for Matt and I and kept us centered throughout the wedding day. She anticipated our needs, asking us if we preferred to do certain photos now or later -she even got in a first look photo session since we were running 20 min early before the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Nicole was really a fly on the wall - able to take the most intimate photos without obstructing the view of the ceremony/being a distraction for the guests. After the ceremony (during our family portraits), Nicole gave clear directions, was prompt in organizing family members and captured all our planned photos in less than an hour, what a dream.
Ultimately, Nicole made my husband and I feel so comfortable and safe. We were able to be ourselves in all our photos even though we aren’t the most photogenic/shy people when it comes to portraits. She took the most beautiful candid and posed portraits of our wedding, I couldn’t have asked for anything more in a wedding photographer. -

Run, don't walk, to hire Nicole for your wedding! She is the most incredible person and photographer and made our wedding planning and wedding day experience an absolute joy. She is incredibly kind, personable, professional, and thoughtful - she truly cares so much about each and every one of her couples.
Our wedding was originally planned for 2020 and we of course needed to postpone - a process that should have been stressful was so easy and smooth because of how accommodating and understanding Nicole and our other Upstate NY vendors were. As soon as it was clear we needed to postpone Nicole immediately worked with us to ensure we got a new date on the calendar and even helped us find another photographer for a small elopement we ended up deciding to do several months after deciding to postpone.
Leading up to our wedding, Nicole's timeline development and planning was absolutely priceless. Many people think that photographers simply "show up and take photos at your wedding" - and we are here to tell you this is NOT TRUE. Nicole not only created us an incredible seamless timeline that drove the entire flow of our wedding day but she also took time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple to understand our personalities and how we wanted our wedding to be so that she could capture us and our day in a way that truly represented us, our love, and our friends and family around us.
We would both categorize ourselves as people who feel a bit awkward when being photographer professionally, and Nicole made ALL of that anxiety float away. She makes you feel so comfortable and at ease, allowing you to just be yourself. She is also up for anything - as you walk around with her she'll see something that sparks her creativity and our advice is to roll with it because trusting her will get you the BEST photos.
My husband and I couldn't be happier with every single photo she took of us and our day -- from portraits to group photos to candid and decor shots. We got married at a venue that she photographs often and I can tell you that NONE of the photos in our album are replicates of what she showed us in other albums at that venue - she truly captured what was our unique day and experience.
We love Nicole and we loved working with her, she is the best! -

Whatever you do hire Nicole immediately! Our experience working with Nicole was amazing, her galleries and website speak for themself, but she is also a wonderful person to work with! Nicole was the first vendor we booked, and due to the COVID restrictions at the time, vendors counted in the headcount for our venue so we were looking for a photographer that could shoot our wedding without a whole team and we hit the jackpot!
She was responsive, gave great advice and answered all questions we had. I was worried that I would feel awkward taking so many photos, but she made us feel at ease throughout the whole day and I am in awe of the beauty and emotion that she captured in every photo! She worked with us to get everything on our shot list and first look including pictures with our dog. She was flexible and gave great direction.
Last but not least her turnaround time is beyond impressive. We got a sneak peak a couple days after the wedding a blog post the week after. By the time we came back from our honeymoon the full gallery was done and we’ve been enjoying the photos and memories of the day ever since! Thank you Nicole!!! -

When we had to postpone our wedding due to Covid, the two main things we were not willing to lose with the date change were our venue and Nicole- and thank god she ended up having our new date open! An Absolute DREAM!
There aren't enough words to explain how amazing Nicole is as a photographer and person. We booked her in February 2019 for our wedding that was meant to take place in October 2020. My husband and I had a few hiccups along the way (change of venue due to breach of contract, a date change, then postponement due to COVID), and Nicole was by our side throughout it all. She is responsive, professional, flexible, and incredibly kind. Our wedding finally took place last week, and Nicole was just simply wonderful. Our perfect elopement ceremony captured by an excellent photographer
We had a great experience with Nicole for our elopement ceremony. Simply amazing!
We can’t say enough amazing things about Nicole! We initially had booked her for our August 2021 wedding in Vermont. After rethinking our plans due to COVID and not wanting to wait to get married- we decided to get married last week on 9/12/20. We reached out to Nicole in August (yes, 5 weeks before our newly chosen chosen date!) and she was beyond flexible and willing to accommodate our new plans! Incredibly Talented
Nicole is truly an exceptional photographer, capturing the exact moments of emotion that I never thought were possible! She is one of the most genuine, kind and professional humans I know. I feel as if I am so lucky to have had the pleasure of receiving Nicole Nero’s photos. She has such a natural way of making you feel so comfortable, and not to mention, she is beyond talented and always open to do what you want for your day! Getting married in a pandemic was no easy task, with the many decisions that we had to make (do we move the wedding, cancel the wedding, what do we do?!). Where do I even begin? I met Nicole about 4 years ago and from day one she has been not only my wedding photographer but my life documenter. From boudoir shoots to wedding photos to professional website shots & promo shoots, to maternity & baby photos. When it comes to loving moments captured, she does it all flawlessly and timelessly! I can’t think of one friend who hasn’t asked me who did my wedding pictures and then instantly hired her...or at least tried to hire her if she wasn’t booked. She makes women feel like queens, men like kings, her prices are so reasonable and you literally get more pictures (quick!) than you even asked for. Her style and vibe is unmatchable! Best Photographer and Person
I do not know where to start with this review. After the pandemic started we had no idea how our wedding was going to go. Nicole was the first vendor that jumped in head first helping us rewrite our day. She was more than flexible with dates and locations that she had available. I remember meeting Nicole on our engagement shoot and I was so nervous to do it, and she made me feel like we were friends just messing around. She took the best pictures of our family and I couldn't imagine using anyone else for our day. Also, the pictures are beyond amazing. Every single picture from both days looks like works of art. If you are looking for a true professional look no farther then Nicole. -

Perfect Elopement Photographer
Nicole was exactly what we needed on our day! Due to COVID-19 we decided to elope and Nicole worked with us the entire way through the process. She even recommended a great officiant and florist that helped make the day even more special. She was willing to work within our budget and time allotted to create some beautiful moments for us. Absolutely incredible.
We were so, so, SO fortunate to have had the chance to work with Nicole for our elopement! Nicole Nero Studio came highly recommended by our venue, and it's easy to see why...not only is Nicole an incredibly talented artist, but she's an expert at every step of the process. We decided to elope on a very short timescale the week before Christmas. Since our families weren't going to be present at our elopement, we knew professional photography was going to be important. We had *no* idea what we were doing, but Nicole truly put us at ease from the moment we first reached out to her. We eloped in a town about 5 hours away from where we live -- we didn't know any local businesses and had only booked a location before reaching out to Nicole. She helped us build a timeline for our elopement day and also recommended a wonderful chaplain (Chaplain Claudia!).
There was a snowstorm the night before our wedding, and it was -17F the morning of. We were worried Nicole would have difficulty making it to our location and it would be impossible to take outdoor photos in the wintery conditions. But of course, Nicole got to town very early to circumvent travel delays, and scouted out an easy-to-access location with amazing natural lighting for some snow-covered outdoor shots (where we alternated quick shots outside and warming up in her heated car!). Nicole was an amazing manager of our time together without making things feel rushed -- I didn't understand how much we'd appreciate her organizational and time management skills until the day was over, when we realized we didn't have to think once about what time it was or whether we'd be able to squeeze-in everything we wanted during our time with Nicole.
Perhaps most importantly, Nicole managed to make us (two people who have never been professionally photographed in our lives) feel so at ease and comfortable, and look AMAZING, despite the inhospitable weather and our innate awkwardness. We weren't expecting to get our photos until well after the holidays, but Nicole promised to have digital copies with a surprisingly quick turn-around time, and she delivered a wonderful photo website to us even faster than she promised. When we saw the photos, we couldn't believe how stunning each one was. All of Nicole's work is gorgeous, but she surpassed our expectations with her ability to capture meaningful moments we didn't even realize had happened! We also got a physical wedding album from Nicole... if this is an option for you, DO IT. Nicole was super responsive during the album design process, and every aspect of it was seamless. The finished product is a beautifully-constructed story of our wedding day that we truly treasure.
Bottom line, we will be forever grateful to have worked with someone as talented, professional, and kind as Nicole! -

We are so thrilled with our photos from Nicole! We picked her for the style of photos on her site, which is very professionally done and speaks a lot for a small business. I liked the kind of dark sultry feel of her photos and I let her know that and that’s what we got! I was a little intimidated when I got her contract and thought she was going to be intense and all business but she’s just a safe business woman it seems. She was so kind, soft and friendly. We were going for pretty laid back and she went with it, made great recommendations and was totally flexible. Most importantly though, her photos are truly amazing! We only wanted a few of the staged family photos and she got those but did a great job moving around the room getting candies. Our photos aren’t overly touched up but we didn’t ask for that. Book Nicole now! -

Nicole is basically a unicorn of the photography world. Nicole is incredibly talented, organized, sweet as pie, a blast to work with, professional and the list of why she is a unicorn could go on forever! Nicole is one of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met. Not only is she an incredible photographer with years of experience (really, she's a true artist) , but she is also the exact type of personality you want around you on the most important day of your life. She is organized and professional, but also hilarious, caring and sincere. On top of that, she's a pro when it comes to handling the demands and critiques of family members (in our case, my mother in law). All of my family and guests raved about how wonderful she was at the wedding, and the results were unmatched. I fall in love with my wedding photos all over again every time I look at them!

Working with Nicole was one of the easiest choices we made for our wedding day. She was highly recommended by my sister-in-law who is also in the wedding business, both for her incredible talent & vision, and also for her sweet personality. She was the person we spent the most time with on our wedding day, and I loved having her around with us! She even saved the day when my makeup needed a touch up, offering me some she had on hand...she was just so accommodating and thoughtful. What I most appreciate is her speediness in getting our wedding photos back to us. We had a preview (100+ photos, seriously!!) on a blog post within 4 days, and all 600+ photos back in 2 weeks. Other photographers quote a few months for their turnaround time, so this is really amazing. She just understands how important seeing these moments are and reliving them as soon as possible after the high of your wedding day. I think I flipped through all 600 photos everyday on my train commute for a month following the wedding :) I have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful and unique our photos are. Some friends have even suggested they get re-married so they can hire her! -

Nicole was above and beyond in every way. Not only is her work magazine-cover quality, she went out of her way to make sure my husband and I felt comfortable every step of the way. She never hesitated to answer my many questions via Instagram messenger. She even gave me vendor recommendations when my HMU people backed out last minute. Before she arrived on my wedding day she texted me to tell me she was on the way and asked if she could pick up anything before she got there. After the big day there were some issues with her photo hosting site and she was relentless at making sure the problems with downloading were solved. I can't recommend Nicole enough!! You will be getting incredible customer service, but most importantly, stunning photographs!! -

Nicole is beyond amazing and I can’t say that enough! Her photos speak for themselves but she is just beyond wonderful to work with as well! Very responsive, I don’t think we ever waited longer than an hour or two for a response on anything even from the beginning. Very patient! We brought along our not very well behaved dogs to both our engagement shoot and wedding not thinking we would get any good shots but Nicole amazed us with so many great shots and never once became annoyed or impatient with us but encouraged us to bring the dogs along! She is just an incredible person herself. Between our meetings, engagement shoot, emails and texts, by the time we got to the wedding we felt so comfortable with having her there. I felt like I didn’t even see her most of the night at the wedding but she got so many incredible shots which was amazing that she wasn’t in your face all night but getting these amazing candid shots. We got all of our pictures back in about 2 weeks which I thought was incredible! I highly recommend hiring Nicole for your wedding because you won’t be disappointed! We were very nervous that we were going to look awkward and terrible in our photos and once we looked at them we were asking each other how she made us look so good and natural in front of the camera!
