The absolute best wedding band! We are so happy they performed at our wedding

We had The New York Players perform at our wedding at The Tower in Boston and they were absolutely incredible. From the very first song, the dance floor was packed and it stayed that way all night. It truly felt like being at a live concert. Every musician was so talented and the energy they brought was unmatched.

A special shoutout to Mike, the band leader and drummer. He was a total professional from start to finish and made the entire planning process easy and stress free, which we appreciated so much. On the day of the wedding, everything was flawless. Our ceremony took place in the same room where the band performed, which required a lot of behind the scenes coordination and early setup. The venue is very old, so we imagine setup could have been challenging, but we never felt any of that. Everything ran seamlessly and the day unfolded perfectly.

We had acoustic guitar and flute during the ceremony, a jazz trio during cocktail hour, and a full band after dinner, and every part was amazing.

Our guests could not stop talking about how incredible the band was, both that night and in the days that followed. So many people told us it was the best wedding band they had ever experienced, and we could not agree more. We truly cannot recommend them highly enough.

Incredible Band!

The New York Players were incredible. Mike was great to work with through the planning stage, making suggestions that were so valuable, all while being thoughtful about budget. We were absolutely thrilled with ceremony music, the cocktail hour music and the blow-out reception. Mike also organized an unforgettable second line to lead our guests from the cocktail hour to the reception. The day wouldn't have been the same without the New York Players, and I would absolutely recommend them to everyone. In fact, a guest at the wedding turned around and hired the band for later in the summer!

Fun Dancing Wedding

New York Players brought the energy and made our wedding night so fun! Many guests told us how awesome our band was and our dance floor was pretty much packed all night which is always the best sign. They were also very professional with regular check in leading up to the wedding. They were great to work with!

Hire this band!

We're live music lovers and the band was one of the most important considerations for our wedding day. We spent a lot of time researching bands and looking at options but as soon as we went to see NY Players at a show they were doing we were IN. Mike is the MOST professional guy you'll work with. He doesn't miss a thing and is on top of every call and every email. Super reliable and friendly communication. He shared his expertise and recommendations with us and was incredibly accommodating of anything we requested. We are still getting compliments from friends and family on what an incredible band we had!! We are THRILLED we got to work with them...they had the dance floor full the entire night! Wish we could go back and do it all over again and without question we'd hire this band again. They are AWESOME!

Hire the New York players if you want the dance floor to always be full!

Mike and the band were so great to work with and were super flexible with what we wanted to do! We picked all of our top songs and they let us sing a song that we picked out! They kept the party going all night long and the dance floor was never empty! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

The best band

As the groom, my biggest concern for our wedding was having quality, fun entertainment. The New York Players DELIVERED.

From our many planning sessions, to learning a song specifically for our first dance, to the dancefloor that was FULL the entire reception, New York Players CRUSHED it and were the best decision for entertainment.

My wife and I had many attendees specifically tell us that the players was the best wedding band that they've ever seen.

If you're looking for a band that understands how to play FANTASTIC music, knows how to work a crowd, and is responsible/timely, look no further than New York Players.

Energizing

The one thing my husband wanted when planning the wedding was a live band. We have heard the New York Players at other events so we knew. we had to check them out for the wedding. We researched a few bands and went to listen to some but none of them were as interactive and upbeat as this group! When we walked into see them, and saw the saxophonist on the floor playing with the crowd, we knew they would lead a good time! During the planning process, Mike was responsive and open to our thoughts. He and the band were willing to learn a few songs that weren't on their playlist for us for our ceremony and reception which made the day extra special. They did a great job for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They had our guests up and dancing all night!

Yes to the band!!

New York Players are the best wedding band! They rocked our wedding in September at the Wylder Windham Hotel. They had everyone up and dancing all night long and it was so fun. Our family and friends are still raving about how awesome the band was. If you are between a band and a DJ, pick the band and pick New York Players.

They were so communicative leading up to the wedding and learned songs from my fiancés favorite band for him. They are fun, professional and just awesome. 1000% recommend!!

Best decision for my wedding

The NYP were absolutely amazing. The dance floor was packed all night and we had so much fun with the band. They also did acoustics for my ceremony and it was so beautiful. Mike was very easy and fun to work with. I would book them if you can. You will not regret it.

Worth the money!!

We went back and forth wondering if we should go the DJ route or a band. Then we heard about the New York Players and the choice was clear. Yes, they are a bit more than a good DJ, but honestly not that much more considering what you get, and they are worth every penny. We wanted to make sure we had a good balance of music for the older generations at the party, as well as the younger, and the band absolutely nailed it. Mike was so amazing to work with and so accommodating when it came to figuring out the music and what we wanted to hear. The singers nailed each note and the horn section blew away our guests. They interacted with the crowd and there was never a moment when majority of the wedding wasn't dancing and singing. You can cut corners other places to save money, but this isn't one. The only thing you have to make sure of is to have comfy shoes because you won't stop dancing all night.

Amazing wedding band!!

We had a blast dancing the night away with the New York Players at our December wedding! Mike was wonderful to work with leading up to the day. He was thorough in the planning process and we had a lot of fun talking with him during our phone calls. The band played at my husband’s two sister’s weddings prior to ours, and we will definitely be recommending them to others!!

Simply The Best

Can’t say enough, Mike was great at communicating our wants and needs and The New York Players delivered. Not only great musicians and singers, the group delivered the right songs at the right time throughout entire night. Professional from start to finish. Energy brought for one epic night

New York Players played during our wedding in 2022. They sent over a song list for you and your spouse to choose from. Mike the manager contacted us a week before the wedding to go over the music choices, bridal party names and proper pronunciation. They were very attentive, organized and well prepared. The day of the wedding they were fabulous! They brought so much energy to the venue with their instruments and voices. They did an amazing job and sound amazing! Our guests, bride and groom had a great time. Would highly recommend them for any event.

New York Players Owns the Stage

Leading up to our wedding, the band was perhaps the most important part of the night. We loved Mike Emery from the first phone call because we could tell he was confident that NY Players could deliver - and deliver they did. Our dance floor was packed all night, the horns were electric and the vocals were excellent. They even let the bride and groom on stage to sing Born to Run and bring the house down. Best wedding band ever!

The New York Players were absolutely incredible at our wedding at Forest Lake Camp. Our guests were blown away and the compliments haven't stopped coming in, even months later. "WHERE did you find that band?!" "Those horns!!!" "The lead singers were INCREDIBLE!" They brought down the house and we couldn't be more grateful. Don't wait. Hire them now!

Don’t hesitate. Hire the New York Players now! I’ve been in and attended a LOT of weddings, and they are hands-down the very best wedding band I’ve ever seen. Don’t get a DJ - it doesn’t compare. And don’t waste your money on any other band. I first heard the NY Players about 8 years before my own wedding when I was a bridesmaid for one of my best friends. She hired them for her wedding in Saratoga, NY and they were truly unforgettable! I kept them in mind all those years and said that If I was ever lucky enough to find the right person and have a big wedding, I would hire them.

Sure enough, when my time came, I called up Mike Emery and booked them before any other vendor. Our wedding was in Newport, RI, so bringing them all that distance meant extra costs for travel and hotel rooms for the 11-member band, but it was absolutely worth it. I coordinated with the venue to be sure both were available on the date we were looking for, because I just had to have this amazing band on our big day. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! They rocked the house! Everyone raved! When we walked around to the tables to say hello to people, every single table said “wow this band is amazing!” We had a full dance floor all night. The NY Players MADE our wedding what it was. They are absolutely awesome! Truly talented musicians.

You’re getting several vocalists, so they can cover a wide variety of songs, which you will get to choose from their extensive song list. And if you’re looking for a particular song that they haven’t done before, they will learn up to 3 new songs just for you! I thought I would definitely be asking for this, but I didn’t end up needing to - they already know sooo many songs.

Several times during the evening they combined two songs from different genres into a medley - One verse/chorus from the first song, then into a verse/chorus from the second, repeating, until they played both choruses at the same time, with different singers - an “in the round” effect. They picked songs with the same key and rhythm and each time they did it, it blew the doors off the place.

Mike was also incredibly organized. When you hire this band, you are hiring professionals with a ton of experience. They MC the night, and are basically responsible for the flow of the entire event. Mike made sure to have several calls with us ahead of the big day and get all the details down. He didn’t miss a beat.

You will not regret booking the NY Players. They will bring your event up several notches! We highly recommend them!

Simply amazing.

We had known about The New York Players for years. There was no doubt that we wanted to book them for our wedding.

They came out to Newport for ours, and quite simply, we were blown away. Literally every single guest came up to us to rave about how great the band was. They played every song incredibly well, with passion and energy. They even put together a number of medleys that combined different genres and had everyone singing along at the top of our lungs.

You cannot go wrong with The New York Players.

100 stars!! Incredible band!

What a fantastic band! Choosing Body and Soul was the best decision we made. We were absolutely blown away by how incredible Body & Soul was at our wedding. Blown away! Our guests danced the entire night and did not want the party to end! Every song was a 5 star performance. Working with Mike was a dream. He not only helped us prep for the wedding in an incredibly organized and fun manner, but he also became a friend and we looked forward to each of our meetings. The musicians and singer are so incredibly talented! They even learned additional songs that we requested. They were amazing and we couldn't recommend Body and Soul more highly.

Hire nyp asap!

I couldn't recommend NYP enough! We actually didn't get a chance to see them before our wedding as myself and now husband lived in Seattle at the time, and honestly watched a couple YouTube demos and made the decision. We also had many friends recommend them from wedding they had gone too and NYP had played at. Our wedding changed about 5x due to COVID and NYP were amazing adjusting and even making last minute changes quite literally until the last day with us to accommodate. They literally saved my wedding. They had my guests being creative doing 'chair' dancing to comply with the no-dancing rules per the state, and they played great songs so people could get a 'live concert' that no one has even had in a while. Every single guest complimented us on them and said that made the wedding - they even let me sing at my own wedding. If we didn't have NYP- I dont think my wedding would have turned out how it went - we have no regrets and only amazing things to say. The lead singer was FANTASTIC and could cover such a wide range of songs.

The New York Players were amazing!

This review is long overdue. The New York Players were the band at my daughter’s wedding last year. They were absolutely fabulous, professional, and all-around perfect. By way of background, the bride and groom were late 20s…that period of time when many friends from their college and immediately after-college social circles tie the knot. To be specific, their wedding last November was the tenth wedding of the year for their group of friends. All of the previous weddings had been fun…all over the country…some big, some more intimate…some bands….some DJs… all different. So, they wanted theirs to be FUN as well…they wanted a dance party. The Players were spectacular. Mike made the planning process easy and was very accommodating. The actual music selection couldn’t have been better. The dance floor was pretty much full the whole night. The best part, in my view, is that this band uniquely appeals to all age groups. The bride and groom and their 20 and 30 something aged friends were out there on the dance floor the whole time having a blast. Equally happy, were our 50 and 60 year old friends and family who danced all night as well. It’s now exactly a year later and we still get compliments from wedding guests on how great the band was.

Best NY Band!!

Hire the New York Players for your wedding!! They were INCREDIBLE and all of our guests loved them so much. Mike, the manager, is super responsive via cell or email and did a great job answering all our questions and making us feel super confident going into the wedding. Incredible!

New York Players is the best, and we absolutely loved them. We researched a LOT of bands based on what we'd heard at other weddings (spanning from Tennesee to NYC to upstate NY). We really wanted a band whose players were guaranteed (i.e. not a group of 30 musicians that rotate). With New York Players, who you see and hear at events is who you will have at your event. We were never worried because we knew that that the group we loved to listen to would be the group performing at our wedding. Additionally, we loved their structure! They took two short breaks throughout the night, otherwise, they were playing. This was very important to us because we didn’t want there to be a lull of people not on the dance floor. We didn’t do a traditional sit-down dinner (instead we did stations), and throughout the whole night, the dance floor was PACKED. Guests had a blast. Working with Mike Emery throughout the process was enjoyable, easy, and fun. My mom and I tend to get nervous, and Mike always put us at ease. Leading up to the wedding, we had three short phone calls with Mike to talk through everything (evening timeline, toasts, bridal party entrance, etc.). We revised our song selections a few times, and it was never an issue. Mike was so personable, and we were touched that he researched my nephew’s fatal disease after hearing about it and brought him a special present. Additionally, New York Players learned some songs for us! They learned the Backstreet Boys song my husband wanted for the mother/son dance, and they also learned a Coldplay song for our wedding party entrance. We thought this was really, really amazing. One highlight was our first dance: my husband and I worked with a dance instructor to choreograph the first dance, and we briefly chatted with Mike to time when the band would start playing our song after they announced us. We had a blast, and our guests went wild over the dance! All night everyone commented on how lively, fun, and amazing the band was. Everyone wanted to know they were and where they were from! I cannot recommend them enough. The entire process was enjoyable, and the day of the wedding was absolutely AWESOME.

Extremely Talented and Completed our Wedding Celebration

Players Nouveau (one of the bands from New York Entertainment Group) were a huge hit at our wedding this past September! So many of our family and friends still talk about the band and music whenever our wedding is brought up! The bands voices and sound were beyond talented and they could sing a huge variety of songs, so much so we had such a hard time creating a playlist because we liked ALL of their songs! Players Nouveau were extremely professional and organized and made our party fun and lively all night! Dance All Night With These Rock Stars !!

We got married on December 8th at the Canfield Casino in Saratoga, NY. This venue has an amazing stage that is perfect for a band so when it came time to select our band we knew we had the select the perfect one. After talking with Mike and the New York Players, we knew all the reviews that they were the best band in New York had to be 100% true! From our first consultation on the phone to the end of our wedding, the New York Players rocked! Mike made sure to go over every aspect of the night and clearly has tons of experience on how to plan and execute a perfect wedding night. He’s super organized and had monthly calls starting 3 months out to go over the itinerary for the evening, the set list and other details. About a month out, he was willing to meet as much as we needed to finalize the details. So much of what a Band does isn’t the music, but the MC’ing and coordination of the night along with your caterers and other vendors. Mike and his team seamlessly integrated our music selections into the evening and gave us great recommendations for music choices at key points in the night like our entrance music and cake cutting music. They are even willing to learn three songs for you if they don’t know how to play them!
If you’re looking for the best Band in upstate NY who will guarantee that you and your guests will be on their feet dancing all night long, look no further. Mike Emery and the New York players are the real deal!

Kept everyone dancing all night

Players Nouveau (from New York Players Entertainment Group) were a huge hit at our wedding! I've received so many compliments about how amazing the band was from several of our guests. Not that these guys need another amazing review because everyone knows how good they are, but we just had to take the time to say thank you to them for helping us throw the best party ever at our wedding. Body & Soul (the smaller band that is part of NY Players Entertainment group) played at our wedding and were great! The band had tons of energy and good quality music. They learned our first dance song that we had chosen and we had many calls with Mike leading up to the day to ensure we were aligned on all of the pertinent details for the day. The pianist also learned several songs for us for the ceremony as well. The guests had a good time and we had lots of compliments on the band at the end of the night!

The New York Players were absolutely amazing on our wedding day!! We heard them play multiple times beforehand, and knew that we just had to have them for our big day. They certainly did not disappoint! From the beginning, Mike was so easy to work with...very professional, helpful, and quick to respond. They provided an extensive song list to choose from, and even allow you to request additional songs that may not be on their list. Our "first dance" song was not on the list we received, but I reached out to Mike and he said "no problem"! They performed an amazing rendition of the song, and we couldn't have been happier. Once the party started, it was right to the dance floor! We have quite a rowdy bunch, all of who love to dance. Not only did they know how to get things going quickly, but there were multiple occasions where a couple of the guys came right onto the dance floor with their instruments - it was AWESOME!! They kept the party going all night, and I don't think there was a second where someone wasn't dancing. I can't thank them enough for a job well-done! If you chose them for your big day, you definitely won't be disappointed!

NY Players were my wedding band this Fall. They kept the party going non-stop. They learned and played my wedding song and the parent dances songs. They played the music we requested during their set breaks. Music is SO IMPORTANT at your wedding...you won't go wrong with NYP. My guest were talking about them for months after. THANKS!

The NY Players were absolutely incredible. They made our wedding day perfect. They are totally worth it!!! Everyone is STILL raving about the music! This review is long overdue -- 3+ months later, people continue to rave our wedding and specifically, our band, the NY Players! Music was an essential element of our day as we knew that we wanted the reception to center around fun and dancing. NY Players surpassed every expectation we had and the testament was packed dance floor from start to finish (even after we extended 30 minutes!). Importantly, you made the groom's dream come true of being a rockstar for the day, and allowing him to accompany you on stage for two songs. You also made planning the music selections a breeze (every bride's dream come true) with your flexible scheduling and bullet-proof recommendations, including our ceremony. NY Players was undoubtedly a major reason that our BIG day was perfect. We are recommending them to all of our friends because we want to be at another one of their weddings! From the very first phone call made inquiring about their services, to the last incredible song played at our wedding, The New York Players were the epitome of professional music entertainers. Honestly, we can't say enough amazing things about The New York Players. They are a 10-piece band: 2 male singers, 1 female singer, 2 guitarists, 1 drummer, 1 pianist, and a 3-piece brass section (sax, trumpet & trombone). They provide all their own lighting, sound equipment, power, etc. Mike Emery, the band leader / drummer, really took the time to get to know us, the style of music we like, and truly made our reception a night to never forget. You'll get a copy of their setlist (which is HUGE) and can highlight the top ~50 songs you want them to play. And they'll even learn a new song just for you if it isn't on their setlist (they learned "Feel It Still" by Portugal The Man less than a week before our wedding)! We haven't stopped receiving compliments from our guests on how great the music and packed the dance floor was all night long. If you're in the upstate NY area, we promise you won't find a more energetic, fun, and downright entertaining band than these guys! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, you won't be disappointed!

Just WOW! Mike and The New York Players were the best decision we made about our wedding reception. My husband and I were super picky about finding a band. It was our #1 on our list of reception vendors that we cared about the most. After a few weeks of searching and seeing other showcases, we met with Mike and were blown away by the talent in his group. Leading up to the wedding, Mike was so professional-scheduling calls and working with us to plan out the night. Being a band manager for years allowed Mike to give us some great advice as well to keep the flow of the night perfect (small things you would never think of)! The band is so talented and can play a wide variety of song/genres. Perfect for our mix guest list of college friends, family, grandparents, etc. Our guests are still complimenting them and raving about how much fun the wedding was. Our only complaint was that the dance floor just wasn't big enough ;) Hire them, just do it!

New York Players were the highlight of our wedding! They definitely set the tone with high energy and high quality music. Everyone loved them and the dance floor was jam packed the entire night.

In addition, they are definitely organized professionals. Mike was great to work with incorporating our requests and filling in where we needed. When you hire a band, the price is definitely higher than if you hire a DJ but they are beyond worth it!

I'd recommend this group for any wedding or event. They are top notch!

Booking the NY Players was 10000% the right decision - if you want a band at your wedding, they're the best!

Mike and the whole group were absolutely outstanding - from our initial conversation to the night of the wedding to the follow up afterwards, we could not have been happier! He was incredibly willing to meet with us, discuss options and helped us make a great decision. He worked with my then-fiance, now-husband and me to select songs for the key events and was happy to make suggestions where we needed them and let us decide on places we had opinions. The band was fantastic night of - we had to, quite literally, kick people off the dance floor at the end of the night. Two big thumbs up for the NY Players. If you want a band, you can stop looking now - they're amazing!

The New York Players were hands down one of the best parts of our entire wedding weekend!! From the very beginning, Mike was a pleasure to work with, and we knew he would do everything he could to make our day as perfect as possible! We were very particular about our first dance as we had planned out choreography, and Mike worked with us through multiple phone calls and emails to make sure it went off without a hitch! The entire rest of the night they had the whole party on the dance floor. We received so many comments from guests about how amazing they were - the music was truly the highlight of the night! They certainly delivered on bringing the party to the best wedding ever, and I cannot wait to go see them in action again soon! They are the perfect choice for a wedding band, and you will not regret your decision!

We booked Body and Soul to play at our daughters wedding last week. The planning went smoothly, the versatility and musicianship were excellent, and the energy level was high. Body & Soul from the New York Players are such a highlight of our wedding. My husband and I are both musicians and, seriously, Body & Soul is the best. Throughout each phase from planning to performing, the New York Players were fun, professional, and immensely talented. The atmosphere they created was priceless; people continue to rave about them. The dance floor was incredibly energetic and wonderfully populated from start to finish. These guys are beyond worth the investment. You would be crazy not to book the New York Players for your wedding. We couldn't even count the amount of compliments we received the night of our wedding. They were so accommodating and flexible to help make our night be exactly what we wanted. They are a large band and it is exactly what we wanted and more. We loved Body and Soul for our wedding! They were very accommodating of all our requests, a pleasure to work with and pulled everything off flawlessly. They kept everyone dancing ALL night and we received lots of comments from guests about how great they were. I would HIGHLY recommend hiring the New York Players for your wedding, or any event. A band brings an entire different life to any kind of celebration. My husband went and watched the NY players before we hired them for our wedding. He knew right away they were it! They can play any song, but make it even better with all of the acoustics and different instruments. We had the NY players for our ceremony music (modern and traditional), our cocktail hour,and of course our Wedding Reception. No one left the dance floor ALL night. Members of the band interact with the crowd (Trumpet players come on the dance floor and play) and they dance to the music on the stage. It is so much fun. We are receiving endless compliments about how talented and incredible the NY players were at our wedding. Also, Mike Emery is so professional and easy to work with. We spoke several times by phone to set everything up. He also helped a lot when we needed suggestions for certain songs. Thank you NY players for making our wedding so memorable. My husband and I said that NY players were the best part of our entire wedding. You are SO much fun! Again, a band is the way to go....and not just any band, the NY players, without a doubt!

Talented and professional. The New York Players are hands down THE BEST BAND for your wedding. All of our guests were blown away. They handled the entire event. For one great price, The New York Players provided a string trio and microphones for the ceremony, a DJ for the cocktail hour and band break and 4 hours of the most incredible live music covering all genres and eras. What an amazing night! Having 3 talented singers also adds to there ability to perform any style of music. You will not find a better band. They were also very easy to communicate with and were quick and courteous in responding to inquiries. They were also very helpful in music suggestions for various aspects of the ceremony and in helping with the flow of the evening which was very helpful to us. We can't wait to go see them play out again so we can relive all of our wonderful memories from our night.

This was the greatest band ever! Everyone raved about them for weeks after the wedding. I would highly recommend them. They were not only incredible at the wedding but also leading up to it. After experiencing them all other event bands have a high bar to live up to. If you are able to book them I would 100% recommend it! Body & Soul played our Cooperstown wedding on Saturday night and they were FANTASTIC!!! Our guests hit the dance floor pretty much from the moment they entered the reception and it was packed ALL night long. So many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the music and said it was the best wedding they had ever been to -- even the guy who ran our photobooth emailed us to say how great the music was. The lead singers were incredibly friendly and came out to meet us before the reception started. They also learned several songs for us (including "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac for our first dance with about 2 weeks notice) and they all sounded amazing. Mike Emery was wonderful to work with as well and he coordinated the whole thing with patience, humor and professionalism. I will actually miss our calls with him!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Body & Soul for making our wedding so much fun!!!!!!

Wow! is all I have to say about Body & Soul. I'm not easily impressed and Body & Soul blew me away. They sounded amazing. the videos on line really just didn't even come close. Our guests have all mentioned how great the band was. They had EVERYONE dancing. The saxaphone player was out on the dance floor for a solo. And the most memorable part- there was a huge storm during the reception and the power went out mid song. Without missing a beat, with no power or lights, the band stuck up and everyone kept right on dancing. Also I should mention they were very professional looking group, with the female lead singer in a gorgeous gown and completely done up make up and the men looking good on stage. And pre-wedding Mike had a few calls to go over all the details including pronunciations of people's names for the introductions. And they learned a few songs just for us. They really know how to be a wedding band.

If you have the opportunity to book the New York Players for your event...do it.

We contacted the New York Players based on a recommendation and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They are the most professional and talented band we've ever seen perform at a wedding. The musicianship and vocals were world class.

Mike was always available and set up numerous check-ins throughout the planning to make sure we had all our questions answered and that we were always on the same page. Their song list is outstanding. You'd be hard-pressed to need a song played that they don't already know. They even learned to play a song for us since we picked such an obscure first dance song. Mike allows you full control over the set list if you prefer.

The band was so fun and read the crowd extremely well. They even came into the crowd and passed the mic around. Young and old were on the dance floor and it was packed all night.

Months later people are still talking about how awesome the band was. We were so lucky that they had an opening on our date. Book them soon!

• Simply put, the New York Players are worth every single penny necessary to secure them for any event, but especially your wedding. We got married 9 days ago and our families are still talking about how epic our wedding was and how the New York Players were the best band they have ever seen. The New York Players are AWESOME! My wife and I chose the New York Players on reputation alone, as we had never seen them play live but had heard amazing things about them. To say our expectations were exceeded is a tremendous understatement. The New York Players had our dance floor packed and rocking for the entire night, to the point where when they played the last song of the evening and all our guests were chanting, One More Song! One More Song! Throughout the planning process we worked with Mike who helped coordinate all of the information. He was tremendous and really catered to all of our wants and needs. The energy and passion that Mike bought to the planning process was infectious, and my wife and I always left those meetings incredibly happy. The band also learned two special songs for us, both with special meanings to each one our families. One of the highlights of the evening was when these songs came on to the shock of all of our guests and the pure joy that could be felt in the room. I can’t say enough great things about our experience with the New York Players. They were fully engaged throughout our entire event, and really made us feel like the most important people in the world on that day. I would highly recommend the New York Players for anyone’s wedding and I would pay money to see them perform live again.

After hearing the New York Players at a friends wedding in Saratoga, we knew that they were "the" band for our wedding (we were yet to be engaged.) A couple years later they played our wedding in Cooperstown, NY. From the start, Mike was great to work with; we are from Colorado so we did everything from a distance. He anticipated our questions and gave us great guidance, for example, that we wanted a five-hour reception instead of a four-hour one.

The band learned some songs for us, Grateful Dead's "Shakedown Street" and Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" (wide range!) and they did a fabulous job covering both. Every single member/musician is so talented and the dance floor was literally packed all night. They really read the crowd and every song was something we wanted to hear and got everyone dancing and singing along. The enthusiasm from the band was always apparent and they were just plain fun!

Highly recommend this band! They were amazing! They had the dance floor packed all night long at our 250+ guest wedding. Mike was great to work with and the band arranged to learn a couple new songs for our reception including our first dance song! We always knew we wanted the New York Players as our wedding band after hearing them for years around Saratoga. NYP were the perfect wedding entertainment right from our first interaction with Mike. Both he and the band were easy to work with and walked us through every step of the way. They were easy to book, and worth every penny. They customized our wedding experience so that we had the ceremony and cocktail hour that we wanted, then we left the reception in Mike's hands. With both their emceeing and playing, the 11-piece group threw us the greatest party ever! They learned our requests perfectly, and our guests are still buzzing about "the band!" They truly MADE our wedding!

Body + Soul was AMAZING. The entire process was seamless - I had known ahead of time that I wanted to use a band with New York Players; my sister had used a band with them when she got married, and they were exceptional. Mike at NYP suggested Body + Soul, and after listening to a few clips, I could tell they were exactly what we wanted. We wanted a big band with a lot of energy, and Body + Soul delivered. They learned a bunch of difficult songs for us, re-interpreted the songs we requested in the best way possible. The dance floor was packed all night, and the crowd was begging for more at the end of the night. The planning process was super simple, as well. Now my father is trying to marry my brother off, specifically so he can host another party with Body + Soul. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Amazing! Had our guest dancing all night! Georgia did a gorgeous rendition of our wedding song! Would reccomend the NYP to anyone!

Body and Soul of the New York Players Entertainment Group played last weekend at our daughter's wedding and they were beyond fantastic! The dance floor was overflowing from the first song to the last. We had over 200 guests from D.C., NYC, Boston, all ages and they all raved about the music, the male and female vocalist and fantastic energy. The evening was a huge success and much of the credit goes to Body & Soul!!!

If I could give them more stars, I would. If you are considering a band over a DJ, New York Players are it. Don't even bother looking into anyone else. New York Players had EVERYONE dancing, even the guests that never dance or hate dancing. They were so much fun to work with along the way and the evening was a non-stop celebration. When I got engaged, they were one of the first vendors I contacted. I didn't care what the cost was, because all I wanted was for my guests to have the most fun celebrating our wedding. I would have worn a white paper bag as my wedding gown if it meant I could have them play at my reception.

If you want your guests dancing all night long and enjoying themselves from the first second, contact Mike with New York Players. I can't say enough about them. They're incredible, amazing, fun, talented, professional, accommodating, and the absolute best!

These guys were fantastic. You could not find a better band. We danced and danced and danced the night of our wedding. There was something for everyone. Incredible talent. All our other vendors raved about them, so we knew they were going to be good, we just did not know how good. Could not recommend them more highly.

The best decision we made in planning our wedding was choosing the New York Players as our band. Mike was incredibly easy to work with, ready with great suggestions, and willing to be flexible around some of our unique requests. And the band was AMAZING. The only criticism or complaint people had about our wedding reception was that they didn't want to stop dancing at the end of the night and wished the reception was an hour longer. In retrospect, I wish we had figured out some way to keep the party going - it was so wonderful seeing my 85 year old grandmother rocking out on the dance floor, and my new father-in-law (who doesn't dance) unable to resist the siren call of Pharrell's Happy! Special thanks to the Players for indulging me in learning the background music/vocals for "Whatta Man" so that I could rap with my best friend as a surprise performance for my husband!

New York Players were amazing!

Working with Mike Emery leading up the wedding was easy, providing great suggestions and answering any questions we had. Our dance floor was packed all night and my husband and I danced non-stop. They played a perfect mix of music to keep guests of all ages on the dance floor. All of my guests raved about how great the band was and several took cards for their future events! We could not have asked for a better band and group of musicians for our wedding. Would recommend them to anyone looking to have a fun filled night with non stop dancing!

You can't have a rocking wedding without New York Players as your band. Let me tell you, they are spot on. They truly know how to get the party started and everyone on the dance floor. Such a great night with true talent!

The New York Players were absolutely awesome! My wedding guests and my husband and I danced all night. They were so talented and professional. I can't say enough about their performance. My guests are still talking about the New York Players. The pricing was a bit expensive, but totally reasonable considering I got a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception package. NYP also offers other options if you're looking for something a little less expensive. If you want the wedding all your friends will be talking about, book NYP!

The New York Players were absolutely incredible. Working with Mike was a total breeze and I felt confident throughout the process that we were in the best hands. These guys totally killed it the night of our wedding! They were AMAZING... all of our guests were asking us how we found such an awesome band. The dance moves, voices, tunes and array of music was perfect. We couldn't have done anything better! We will definitely use New York Players again!

The New York Players are made up of legend in the capital region. Long before we were engaged, we had heard of the players but did not see them live until a friend’s wedding in 2009. From that night forward, we were hooked! Having the players play at our wedding was such an important choice that we actually scheduled our wedding date around their availability. We were not disappointed.

Our one regret is that we had to conduct our business over the phone (as we live in NYC) and we never got to hang out with Mike Emory until the day of our wedding. Needless to say we missed out big time on face time but it did not complicate planning at all. Mike is a wonderful to work with. He is accommodating, honest and makes planning the music for your day easy. He spends time learning about you as a couple and your musical preferences to customize your wedding. He made time for us despite our distance and hectic work schedules and we are so grateful to him for that.

We used the players for our ceremony, cocktail hour and extended reception. Using them resulted in a wonderful soundtrack of our day. The singers, musicians, sound quality of their equipment were above any expectation I could have set for a band. Even in the Hall of Springs (which frequently echoes due to the high ceilings) were managed perfectly by the players. They were engaging to our guests, high energy the entire night and most importantly made us feel unique (even though they’ve done hundreds of weddings).

The New York Players came dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate with us. It was a true honor to have them a part of our day.

There are other great bands in the capital region but only The New York Players have that “wow factor”.

We loved the players and are so thankful to them for being such an amazing part of our day!

All I can say is WOW!! Mike Emery the band manager and drummer was such an awesome person to work with,he helped me decide my ceremony music and how things would pan out!! The day of the wedding was truly amazing thanks to them!! Our guests kept asking me for there information so they can hire them for events or parties!! Our guests never once left the dance floor when they were playing,they exceded my expectations!! I knew we were getting a great band but I really didnt know that until the day of the wedding!!

We had Body & Soul play at our wedding. Hiring the right band was probably at the top of our list when we began planning our wedding, and Body & Soul did not disappoint. The dance floor was packed from the moment they started playing and stayed that way through the entire night. The music was amazing and a perfect mix of old and new party favorites.

Mike, the New York Players manager, was great and always very responsive. Mike also connected us with the musicians for our ceremony, the Northland Ensemble. They were also fantastic.

Incredible! That's the only way I can describe the NY Players. They are so talented and really know how to get a party started. Mike Emery was wonderful to work with - very professional and responsive. We had a call with him shortly before our wedding to iron out some final details - he made so many great suggestions and incorporated everything we wanted into our reception. He made what could have been a very stressful part of our wedding, one of the parts we were most excited about!
We even requested they play an extra hour. We have had so many guests compliment on the band and even more ask for their contact info to play at their own upcoming weddings! So awesome!

We hired Body & Soul for our wedding last weekend! Amazing doesn't even begin to describe them! They had the party going from start to finish. They provided us with the wedding reception we always wanted. They had everyone from our best friends to our grandparents on the floor. Not a bad review in the house. If I could I would hire them again, again for every party I have!!! Can't say enough about them!

I'm a firm believer that the band or DJ can totally make or break a wedding. I obviously prefer a band to a DJ and this band is amazing! No Joke.. Their repertoire is so extensive, their energy is amazing.. The announcements bring the excitement, first dance and parent dances will bring the tears, and the dance floor will be full all night long, I promise. They also provided music during cocktail hour.
They also directed us to our ceremony musicians. We had a string trio which played beautifully prior to the ceremony and after the ceremony.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The New York Players! I cannot express how fantastic they were! When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we really only cared about one thing - it had to be a great dance party! I'm so happy we brought the band down from Albany to play out our wedding in Brooklyn - they completely made the party! Our guests are still talking about how great they were. The dance floor was packed all night light. Looking forward to them playing at my brother's wedding next year! On top of them being the best band around, Mike is a total pleasure to work with.

Mike and his band keep the party goin'. He also has suggestions in the planning stage to ensure that everything is communicated clearly and turns out the way you hope. I have received so many rave reviews from guests who were enamored by the band. SO SO good. Everyone seemed to have so much fun and the band just sounds phenomenal. Very professional. After having heard the NY Players perform at a venue over the summer before our wedding, we knew we had to hire them. They did not disappoint! Many of our guests approached us during and after the wedding to say how impressed they were with our band. They will play everything from Aretha Franklin to Lady Gaga and it all sounds amazing. They even learned my groom's favorite karaoke song so we could give him a surprise performance! They were flexible and professional in the planning process and then absolutely rocked it the night of our wedding. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend.

All I can say is that our wedding reception definitely wouldn't have been the same without the NY Players! They played something for everyone and kept the dance floor packed the whole night! I found that not only were they fantastic performers but Mike was also very helpful during our planning process. Having performed at so many weddings in the Capital District they have been to most venues and worked with a lot of vendors. I did consult him for his opinion on a few things and he was very helpful and responsive. Can't say enough good things about them...they rock!!!

The band was amazing! It MADE our wedding! They did a fantastic job! They did classical music at the ceremony, jazz music at the cocktail hour, and fun party music the rest of the night. It was like going to a concert. They are the best wedding band ever. Everyone at our wedding could not stop talking about how amazing the band was! We had so much fun! They sing everything from Ella Fitzgerlald's "Our Love is Here to Stay" to Lady Gaga! They were professional and as stellar at playing as they were at coordinating the first dances, the cake cutting, etc. We loved them!

I worked with the NY Players to provide live music at my wedding: a harp and flute at the ceremony, and a 3-piece jazz band at cocktails. It was a breeze to work with them, and each of the musicians was wonderful. They were recommended to me by my wedding planner, and I would recommend them to anyone as well.

The New York Players gave us exactly what we wanted: a packed dance floor all night long. I think the truest testament to their abilities is that all of our guests, young and old, absolutely LOVED this band. We had an outdoor wedding at my parents' home and even the neighbors admitted to dancing in their yards because "our band was so good!" Mike was so professional. I felt completely at ease with him, and confident that he would make sure everything went smoothly--which it did! Now I'm looking forward to attending the wedding of our friends who hired the New York Players on the spot once they heard the band at our wedding!

100% reccommended!!!!!!!!!!! They made our wedding fantastic! I can't thank them enough for the everything!!!!! I would love to have another party jsut to hire them back! Expensive but well welll well worth it! Wouldn't have went any other way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are busy so the manager of the band was hard to get a hold of at times!

Awesome reception band! Total professionals, excellent musicians. These guys moved the party along beautifully. The bandleader emceed the event without being cheesy or stealing the spotlight. They played the best soul/funk/top 40 songs and did a wonderful job with the ballads, first dance and father-daughter dance. We had both very young children and senior citizens at our reception and everyone danced until the wee hours. Wonderful!
