A truly magical venue with an amazing team of professionals!
My partner and I had the best experience with Nestldown for our minimony. We had toured a few other venues but after seeing Nesltdown, there was no competition. There is nothing quite like it - it truly looks like something out of a fairytale and there are so many little touches that make the property so magical.
The booking process was very smooth for us and shortly after, we were paired with our SEM, Danielle to discuss the timeline and details for our minimony. Danielle is such a sweet person and was integral in bringing our vision to life. She kept us on track during the planning process and she was such a calming presence for me on the day-of as my nerves were through the roof! Our ceremony and cocktail hour went off without a hitch, and I know Danielle did so much behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly.
I had so many of our guests compliment us on how beautiful the venue was and how kind all of the Nestldown staff were. We couldn't have picked a better place to get married and we are so grateful to Danielle and the rest of the team at Nestldown for all the work they put into making our day so special! -

An Ethreal Venue Full of Magic
Nestldown is truly the most magical place. Not only is it physically beautiful with the scenery, but there is a real sense of magic in the air that makes you feel like you’re in a fairytale. My husband and I toured Nestldown shortly after getting engaged, and didn’t need to tour any other venue after because we knew it was the one. We booked a minimony due to wanting a very intimate ceremony of 20 guests and it was absolutely perfect. We were so lucky to have Diana as our SEM, and she is a rockstar!! Her communication was consistent and she was always friendly and responded to questions quickly. Nestldown knows how to run any event seamlessly, and Diana ensured our day was absolutely perfect and ran smoother than I could have dreamed of! My only concern with a minimony was that it might feel rushed due to a shorter rental timeframe, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. It was the perfect length to have a first look, a 30 minute ceremony, family photos, additional photos of just the bride and groom, and all the special moments such as toasts and a Father of the Bride dance! Our guests and I felt it was a smooth schedule with ample time to socialize and take candid photos in the reception area! No one felt rushed at all and just kept commenting on how beautiful the venue was and how amazing Diana was! Diana not only made sure our wedding day was perfect and ran smoothly, but she also made our families feel special and cared for! She helped our family members with accessibility issues get to all areas of the wedding events and went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable. All of the staff at Nestldown were friendly and helpful during our event as well as any time we visited for the planning process. We seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about Nestldown, Diana, and the team. It was the most perfect day and we are so grateful for everyone who helped give us live out our fairytale moment!-

Wonderful experience, from beginning to end!
I first became aware of Nestldown in 2007 and visited it in 2016; I instantly was smitten. When my husband and I got engaged, it was at the top of my list for venues. We toured the property and booked our minimony there immediately afterward, without even looking anywhere else. It's hard for anything to live up to what you've built it up to be in your memory, especially after such a long period of time, and yet, somehow Nestldown ended up far exceeding my sky-high expectations.
First of all, Nestldown is absolutely breathtaking. There are so many whimsical and special touches everywhere you look. Our guests loved walking around the grounds and taking it all in. The ceremony site is gorgeous. But even more importantly, the owners and staff are what truly make Nestldown stand out for me. Every staff member we interacted with there was professional, responsive, and genuinely kind. Once we had booked, Barbara Beck, the owner, was assigned to be our Special Events Manager. She guided us through the planning process, and was consistently thorough, organized, and invested in making our wedding day visions come to life. She was phenomenal, and an absolute delight to work with. It is apparent she loves what she does, and that was seen in every interaction we had with her.
On our wedding day, Barbara was the calming force throughout, keeping us on schedule and everything running smoothly. She somehow managed to be seemingly everywhere all at once and all of our guests who interacted with her could not stop raving about how amazing and lovely she was. She and the rest of the staff made our experience there that much more special and magical. My husband and I were able to simply relax and enjoy the wedding, and never had to worry about a single detail that day.
I wholeheartedly recommend Nestldown! Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. -

Wonderful venue!
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. From the moment we visited, we were captivated by its stunning ambiance and beautiful scenery. The estate was absolutely magnificent offering spectacular views that resulted in amazing photos. The reception area was sophisticated, highlighted by a beautiful chandelier, setting the perfect tone for our celebration. Our wedding at Nestldown was nothing short of enchanting!
Barbara Beck, the owner, along with her daughters Diana Einfalt and Alexandra Beck, who is the founder and executive director of Nestldown Therapeutic Riding Center, were exceptionally kind and professional. The staff, particularly Ashley Yore went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating, ensuring every detail was meticulously handled and working seamlessly with our wedding planner. Overall, the venue made our special day even more magical, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to celebrate their wedding. -

A fairytale
Our wedding at Nestldown was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of the redwoods, the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop that made our special day feel like a fairytale. The towering trees and serene environment created an atmosphere of peace and beauty that our guests are still talking about.
A huge part of our wonderful experience was due to the incredible staff, particularly Danielle and Diana. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Danielle's attention to detail and calm demeanor made the planning process smooth and stress-free. She was always available to answer our questions and provided invaluable advice that truly enhanced our wedding day.
Both Danielle and Diana displayed exceptional professionalism and genuine care for our wedding, making us feel supported and confident throughout the entire journey. Their dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for their contributions.
Nestldown itself is a venue like no other, combining natural beauty with a touch of elegance. If you are looking for a place that offers stunning scenery and a dedicated team to help bring your vision to life, Nestldown is the perfect choice. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue or better people to work with. Thank you, Danielle, Diana, and the entire Nestldown team, for making our wedding day unforgettable. -

Fairytale Come True!
Nestldown is truly a fairytale come to life. Not only is the property full of natural beauty and exquisite landscaping, but their team is truly top notch. We fell in love with Nestldown on our first tour and can't image getting married anywhere else. The sprawling property has so many areas available for you to use on your special day. From the redwood chapel, apple knoll, koi pond, and gorgeous barn - there is no shortage of stunning photo ops and beautiful settings to celebrate in. On top of the gorgeous venue, the entire Nestldown staff is truly exceptional and set the industry standard for event planning. We were lucky enough to work with Danielle for our wedding and she went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect day! I am still in awe of this wonderful venue and highly recommend Nestldown to all couples!-

A Truly Magical Day!
We are forever grateful to you, Nestldown staff! My husband and I made our tour appointment over three years ago in March of 2019. This was our first venue we looked at and we were completely blown away with the beauty of Nestldown and how friendly and personable the staff was. Standing in the chapel as they played music, my husband and I could not see ourselves getting married anywhere else. After our tour and when we received the open dates, we immediately put a hold on a date for July 2020.
Our contract signing appointment was so memorable. We met with Barbara and Mark. The morning was filled with getting to know each other and making sure they understood what we envision for our special day. My husband and I felt so comfortable and excited.
Nestldown makes the planning process seamless! They provide you an extensive list of preferred vendors that they have worked with for many years. However, if you want to use a different vendor, you sure can! Just need to complete some paperwork and get the vendor approved. We went with all preferred vendors for our special day! Also, you are assigned a Special Events Manager (SEM) who will meet with you many times before your big day to sort out all the logistics. This is included... they contact all your vendors the month before to make sure everything is ready to go, they send them your timeline, they are the day of contact so you, the Bride and Groom, have nothing to worry about day of! Jo Ann was our angel of an SEM. She was attentive to our needs, she offered expert advice, and she showed that she truly cared about us as people, not just a client. Our day would not have been as perfect as it was without Jo Ann. Thank you, Jo Ann!!
Then COVID entered our planning process. Nestldown clearly communicated our options for moving our date as July 2020 was going to be affected. Yes, this was frustrating BUT this was completely out of Nestldowns control and our control. Nestldown was responsive to our situation and we made a plan everyone was comfortable with. We moved our date to July 2022.
After a long wait, we finally had our wedding! On the day of our wedding, we rented the Nestldown Guest House where I (bride) and my bridesmaids spent the night before and got ready the next morning. The home is gorgeous and the location made getting ready so easy and convenient. I was golf carted to meet my husband for our first look. It was so seamless!
Our day was magical! We had 140 guests and they were blown away with the beauty of Nestldown. There is something for everyone; sand castles, dragons, cottage, tree house, horses, fire pit for s'mores, koi pond, an active train, beautiful barn with an exquisite chandelier, etc. You feel as if you walked into a fairyland when you are Nestldown and can't believe you are still in the Bay Area.
We are beyond grateful to have had our wedding at Nestldown! My husband and I can't stop talking about our day. Our guest have told us many times "that was the best wedding I have ever been to!" It was a day we waited over two years for and completely worth the wait! -

The Best Wedding Venue!
The most magical day we ever had! Nestldown truly is a fairytale come true. My wife and I couldn't have been happier to spend the most important day of our life at such a breathtaking location.
From our first steps on the property during our tour at Nestldown, we knew that this venue was like no other. After seeing multiple wedding venues, we couldn't go back to any of them once we saw what Nestldown had to offer. From the professional and organized staff to the gorgeous and well maintained gardens, choosing Nestldown was a no-brainer.
Our SEC, Jo Ann, was an absolute delight to work with. She helped us with our wedding timeline, all the details about our vendor, what to prepare for leading up to our wedding, and answered all our questions. I'm not sure how she had time to organize and remember every detail about our wedding while helping others as well.
Our wedding itself was better than we could've imagined. Nestldown truly knows how to pamper and spoil the bride and groom. As soon as we entered, we were constantly being looked our for. We were handed appetizers when we were hungry, our cocktails when we took breaks, and everything was organized down to a T. We also had the luxury to work with the owner of Nestldown, Barbara. She was the perfect blend of sweet and professional. She somehow knew where every vendor was and what they were doing at all times!
My wife and I are still talking about how magical our wedding was. Our guests also can't stop bragging that they went to the best wedding ever. We wish we would experience this day again!

The perfect, stress free day!
There are tons of clichés about weddings: "whatever can go wrong, will" and "as the wedding couple, it's so hectic and stressful!" But we found the opposite to be true in our experience with Nestldown. Everything ran so smoothly! We didn't have to stress, we could just relax and enjoy the day. Every tiny detail was perfect. It was clear that they're experts!
If you've visited, you know that no words can capture how amazing the grounds are.
1. The guest house is a simply amazing place to get ready. Beautiful for pictures and spacious so that you don't feel cramped with your bridal party. The large windows, decks, and abundant sunlight add even more magic to your day!
2. The gardens feature a wide array of flora and fauna. Everything is kept beautifully manicured without feeling too rigid.
3. The ceremony area has amazing redwood trees as well as a lake with a fountain. Take your pick for your backdrop! The staircase down is a stunning entrance for the bride.
4. The Apple Knoll is a relatively new area, and they've really made it great. Probably my favorite area on the property.
5. The lawn is a great place for dinner in the warmer months, but the barn is also gorgeous.
I can't say enough about how much we loved having our wedding at Nestldown. The team there is so nice and makes you feel like family. It was perfect! -

The most magical wedding venue in the SF Bay Area
Nestldown is one of the best wedding venues we’ve ever been to and made our wedding there an absolute DREAM.
The venue itself is, of course, incredible. There are flowers everywhere lining the paths around the beautiful property, with its gorgeous barn, apple knoll, and the gorgeous redwood-tree-lined ceremony space. There are two tranquil ponds, whimsical decorations including a fairy cottage and giant chess set, and a lovely small train that they operate during the cocktail hour for your guests to ride around in. They have everything you could think of (including golf carts for older guests and lawn games) on the property to make your dream wedding come true.
Their team prepares with you from over a year before your big day, and proactively checks in and plans with you throughout the year. Nestldown took agency and ownership of our day being special without us ever having to ask or push. They also provide a day-of coordinator that ensures everything runs well on the day with this unique property. And they take care of you - when our events manager left the company about a month before our wedding, the owner Barbara personally took over our event and made sure it went off without a hitch.
Nestldown is a truly special place for any event, but especially a wedding. You will never find a more beautiful ceremony space or property at any comparable price. You will be taken care of from the very start to your wedding day by a team of pros. And your day is set up with tons of special touches and thoughtfulness that show they really care about you having a wonderful experience. We cannot recommend Nestldown highly enough.

Absolutely magical!
Fantastic venue, service and experience!
My daughter got married at Nestldown in September 2021. We had a fantastic experience, from the absolute beauty of the venue (no words can actually describe how beautiful it really is), to the very helpful staff, the recommended vendors, especially Poetry in Motion catering. Our wedding planner was Megan Burton of The Blue Book Events. It was a magical day and worth every penny. Cannot say enough about this place and the staff.

Highly recommended!
Even before I started wedding planning, I knew that having my future wedding at Nestldown would be a dream come true. For years, I had seen pictures of the beautiful redwoods, flowers, ponds, and buildings, not realizing that this gorgeous venue was local. When I got engaged, I knew that the first venue I was going to want to tour was Nestldown! In hindsight, touring Nestldown before any other venue may have been a mistake, as I knew that no other venue could live up to it. The property even more beautiful in real life and I felt like I was transported into a fairytale forest.
It is clear that Nestldown really knows what they are doing when it comes to weddings. The entire planning process was extremely organized, with plenty of paperwork provided to outline every guideline. I'm not going to lie, the guidelines were pretty strict, but completely justified considering all of the efforts made to keep the property wedding-ready. Diana, the Events Director, sat down with my husband and me and patiently went through all of the paperwork and its legalese to ensure we understood everything. We were also given lists of their recommended vendors and Diana was able to provide us with personalized recommendations that suited our needs.
We were initially assigned Jaynie as our Special Events Manager (SEM) who would be our point person leading up to and on our big day. Jaynie was such a delight, but unfortunately we only got to meet her once before the pandemic hit and we had to change our wedding day plans.
With the uncertainty of planning a wedding during a pandemic, my husband and I ultimately decided to downsize our guest list and cut out our reception dinner altogether. Diana was wonderful, keeping us updated on how our wedding would be affected by the county guidelines as well as providing us with various options for keeping our original date or postponing. We opted to downsize to a "minimony", which is essentially just the ceremony and cocktail hour, but were still able to incorporate aspects from our original full length wedding.
Samantha, our new minimony SEM, and her team really went above and beyond to make our day special. We really wanted to make our grand entrance on the train, but when it was discovered that there would be no one available to drive the train, she arranged it so that someone got trained literally the day before our wedding to make it happen! On the day of the wedding, there was a motorcycle accident leading to the venue, with the resultant traffic making me arrive 45 minutes late. By the time I showed up, I was completely frantic and convinced we were going to have to cut things out of our schedule to get back on track. Samantha was totally on it, calming me down and worked her magic to adjust the timing of our schedule, making everything play out as originally intended. At the end of the night, after we returned to our hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find that someone from the Nestldown team dropped off a ring box we had left at the venue. I can't even begin to express how grateful we were to Samantha and her team for making our day absolutely perfect. We can't thank her, Diana, and everyone at Nestldown enough!-

Incredible- dream come true
To say the least, getting married at Nestldown was a dream come true. My (now) husband and I instantly fell in love with this property. I had viewed 18+ properties and had very high standards. Nestldown met every single one of those and more. There are so many beautiful features to this property including the stunning redwood trees, lake, small train, horses, twinkle tree lights, and more! While we had our wedding reception, deer actually walked down and fed in the meadow next to guests-- it was out of a fairy tale.
My wedding day truly went off without a snag. My goal was for each guest to have a blast. I was told multiple times by various guests it was the best wedding they had ever too and the most stunning venue they had ever visited. I truly cannot say enough positive things about Nestldown and my wedding day-- I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful memory. In addition to the incredible day, the Beck family is also incredible! They truly care about each and every bride. They welcomed us into their home for the contract signing and we spent hours just chatting and bonding. I grew very close with the family over the 1.5 years of planning and never had a bad encounter. They are beyond generous, loving, warm, compassionate people. It is so rare to meet people like the Beck family. Diana Beck and I have continued to stay close since my wedding (2 years ago) and can truly say she is one of my closest friends.
You will be so so happy to get married here and make the most fabulous life long memories and friendships. -

We absolutely loved our experience with Nestldown!!! Such a beautiful setting and fantastic atmosphere! Every person we dealt with from the tour to our wedding coordinator, Sophia, was absolutely amazing! The staff took so much pressure off the bride and groom and made every guest feel so welcome! We got married almost 2 years ago and people are still talking about how great our wedding was and Nestldown had so much to do with that wonderful memory!! -

Nestldown was the BEST decision we made for our wedding day!
First of all, the venue is stunning. If you have not seen it in person yet, I highly recommend that you check it out because it is even more beautiful than what the pictures can capture. When we went to see the venue for the first time and I heard the music from the speakers that are hidden throughout redwood trees, I fell in love with it immediately.
Secondly, the Nestldown staff and their preferred vendors are extremely professional and great to work with. They help a TON with the planning process and made me to feel so at ease every step of the way. My wedding coordinator was Barbara Beck and she was amazing to work with! She is so sweet and incredibly organized. I felt like she genuinely cared about making sure our wedding day was all we had hoped for it to be!
We got so many compliments from all of our guests about how beautiful the venue was and how perfect everything turned out! The entire day was better than we could have ever dreamed of! Thank you Nestldown! -

My fiancé and I visited Nestldown and two other venues, all in the Santa Cruz mountains. Nestldown was initially our #1 choice because of the venue's overwhelmingly beautiful gardens, buildings, romantic atmosphere, and playful elements (the fairytale cottage, train, and s'mores pit stole my heart!) We were immediately serious about the place and wanted to sign.
There was just one problem... since the venue was so popular, only 4 weekend days remained in the coming year, all Sundays. This was difficult to accept since 70% of our guest list would be traveling from out-of-town, and most would have work the following morning. But we were smitten, and signed anyway for Sept 11... but asked that the staff inform us if any Saturdays became available Aug-Oct. Within two weeks, Lita emailed us and declared the the couple who had booked the day before ours (Sept 10) had decided to get married closer to their families, and the date was ours if we paid the remaining balance. How lucky! They had that check within two days!
Once we'd finalized our date, we received an email from our Nestldown SEM (Special Events Manager), Sofia, who quickly became our confidante, trusted advisor, and checklist master in the remaining 9 months until the wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sofia! She kept us well aware of the Nestldown's regulations, explored vendor options with us, sent reminders at each stage of the planning process so that we never missed a deadline, and conducted two super-thorough walk-throughs with us! I've never met anyone who is both so joyfully present and diligently bulldog-ish. Nothing slipped past her, and she was always smiling.
Our wedding day was a dream come true! Sofia & her coordinators were on top of everything, with the result that I couldn't have been stressed if I had tried. Our guests were blown away by the day, and my husband and I can't thank Nestldown enough for all they did to make our experience so smooth! -

Nestldown is a dream wedding venue. It’s gorgeous, everything is run super smoothly, and the people are super nice and go the extra mile to make sure everything is awesome. Pricey, but worth every single penny!
Some highlights:
- They 100% have weddings figured out. They helped us with every detail (even if they weren’t organizing it, they were still reminding us to). Every single thing is thought of ahead of time, so when the big day comes, it just all happens so smoothly.
- They do have a lot of rules and restrictions, but we loved it! Made decision making easy and everything was buttoned up. It never limited what we wanted to do.
- Barbara and Claudette were so kind. Great communicators. Organized. Each meeting and walkthrough was fun and productive.
- The venue itself is BEYOND stunning. The redwood chapel was the most magical place to exchange our vows— it alone was unforgettable. Foxglove Meadow was everything I could have imagined for a cocktail hour with lots of yard games and gorgeous treeline. The barn was the perfect place to dance the night away. The landscaping is gorgeous. Lush and manicured without being prissy.
- Highlights: Whisking us away briefly for 5-10 minutes right after the ceremony so we could spend some time with ourselves (plus champagne, appetizers - so smart). Bringing blankets out when temperatures started dropping at dinner. Knowing the barn was a backup plan in case of rain, so no need to worry about tents etc. The miniature donkey, Starbuck! We actually knew him from his previous residence down near Aptos, so we had a special fondness. For our wedding day, they groomed him and brought him to hang out and take pictures — it was so special, and we really appreciated all the extra effort. -

We absolutely loved our wedding at Nestldown! We looked at so many different places and Nestldown was the last on our list. We didn’t have high hopes for this venue as the only thing we had to go off prior to visiting was the picture of the “hobbit house” on the website—in fact we joked the place calling it the “Shire". Boy were we wrong. When we got to Nestldown and saw what it had to offer--magnificently tall redwoods, beautiful lakes, streams, a dragon, yes, a dragon--nature in all of its beauty and splendor. The site is so well manicured...it’s a really a gem nestled in the mountains of Los Gatos—an unforgettable place. We chose Nestldown as our venue for all of these reasons but most importantly because my wife and I both connected to it and felt it would be the place that we and our children would remember for many years to come. A place that our friends and family would feel was unique, open, warm, and just beautiful. Nestldown also provided us with a same day wedding coordinator, My-Dung, and she was truly awesome as well. She kept us on track and focused, answered our questions, and basically kept us sane throughout the entire process. It even rained on our wedding day but My-Dung and her crack commando team kept our spirits up and made sure that our wedding moved forward as planned despite the weather. Our photos and videos also came out fantastic--a testament to how beautiful and picturesque Nestldown truly is, and how great of a job My-Dung did for us. Keep in mind however that Nestldown can be strict with their contract and how they run things but rightfully so, to maintain upkeep of the site and to ensure it is pristine for the next couple that is expecting the best wedding experience possible, just as we were. Choosing a wedding venue is no small matter and to be honest, we stressed over this decision so much. And, if we had to make this decision again, it would not change. Thank you Nestldown and thank you My-Dung! ~Paul & Anna -

Hands down the most incredible wedding venue in Northern, CA! My wife and I are in the business and have seen them all. There are no words to describe the beauty of the site, and the professionalism and service provided by the staff and owners demonstrates a passion and love far above and beyond the call of duty. We are in love with Nestldown and everyone associated with it!!! Our daughter's wedding was such an incredible event. If you select a site without seeing Nestldown you are making a big mistake! Do yourself a favor and view the video on their website, you will see what we mean. Nestldown should be a World Heritage Site for weddings!!! Looking to impress your guests, here are some comments we received, all of them from professionals in the business. "Hands down the best wedding I have ever been to", "The event of the century", "the most beautiful venue I have ever seen", "we were honored to be invited to such a special event". Every day we get another call or card thanking us, as do our daughter and her husband. Amazing! -

I recently had the opportunity to officiate a large wedding at Nestldown. This wedding venue is utterly fantastic in that it combines the best of nature’s redwoods with immaculate grounds. The wedding area itself is located in a beautiful area with a small lake and a grove of the big trees.
Allison Lefferts was the coordinator and was a great “logisticator”!

All I can say is Nestldown is magical. Our wedding was perfect and I honestly think it's because of that beautiful place and the wonderful staff that works there. All of our guests have said it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to and they truly loved everything about the venue. Our day felt seamless and our coordinator Jaynie was truly the BEST!! Nestldown will always have a very special place in our hearts and we will always be grateful for the experience. BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!!!!! -

We are the luckiest two people on earth; our wedding day was a dream & Nestldown was the most beautiful venue imaginable.
The staff knows the property & are ready for anything; there is a system in place for every scenario. They have checklists for you that include every little detail you never thought to think of! This makes all the difference. Our wedding ran so smoothly thanks to Barbara & her team, & Nestldown's incredible preferred vendors.
The staff keeps the grounds glowing with natural beauty all year long. There is so much care put into keeping everything up. We visited several times before the wedding, & Barbara would take us on tours of the property to "walk us through" how the day would go. This was invaluable; I did nothing but relax & enjoy every moment on the day of the wedding because I knew how everything was unfolding for all of our family, the bridal party, & our guests.
My Bridesmaids & I got ready in the Guest House on the top of the hill-- just beautiful & serene! We were driven down to the "first look" in the old London taxi. My husband & I had our ceremony facing the water in the "chapel" area. There is not a more romantic & sacred area I could imagine; they have speakers in the large redwoods & the music just sounds magical. They have a great sound system with lapel mic's so all of our guests could hear the ceremony. We road into our reception on the train-- the train rides & lawn games were a huge hit! When it began to get dark we noticed that they had beautiful twinkly lights set up outside the barn to keep the area lit.
Everyone was safe & happy all evening; that's all we could have hoped for! Barbara had tons of advice & suggestions for us on how to handle photos, transportation, directions, weather, etc. She went as far as to send me weather records for my wedding date from the past several decades so that I could feel confident that it most likely would not rain. Nestldown was a dream for us; thank you! -

Our wedding at Nestldown was just beautiful, and Allison, Barbara, and Alex all helped to make it happen. The grounds at Nestldown are a fairytale come true, and our guests were blown away with it all. We heard the word "magical" repeated over and over. The train that circles the fruit orchard, the tree house, the fairy garden, bocce ball courts, the elegant barn and the koi pond; we had deer show up in the back meadow, and wild bunnies that came out to play during our dinner hour.
We can't thank Allison, Barbara, and Alex enough for helping us to pull everything together for our big day (we planned a big wedding in just five months), and for being so charming and professional while doing it. -

Nestldown Amazing
Married at this venue years ago and visit every year since. The staff is friendly, helpful and make your day as important to them as it is to you. The owners take pride in their piece of paradise and it shows with all the details they have added through the years, not just on the property, but with the team they have working and the options they have added to make your day magical.
Recommend Nestldown for the perfect day. -

The price they gave us was upfront and comprehensive. There were no hidden fees, no cost of labor. The people that run Nestldown are organized, responsible, and really know the business, and the respect trickles down to the staff.
Our morning ceremony only event is still the talk of our family and friends. They allowed us to bring our own food and decoration and set up on our own (however, the assistance they gave us went beyond what was stipulated in our contract...so they really went above an beyond). They pulled out all the stops and whistles for our Ceremony Only event. If you visit- you will know EXACTLY what I mean by "stops and whistles". Please note they did not have to do ANY of this b/c it was not stipulated in our contract. And c'mon- an English cabby is included. Who can beat that?
I visited many venues with redwood groves, and Nestldown is the most reasonably priced for what it offers, the most beautiful, and I never ever felt like they were pressuring me to spend more money (b/c like I said: their package is comprehensive- their is no additonal fees for *extra* services on top of their initial price). There are no unpleasant surprises an hour into the interview like we had at other venues ( for ex: to book the venue is this much $$$$, oh, you want to bring food? We have to add this much $$$$ to your price. But if you cater with us, its another $$$$). Just good ol' honest folks at Nestldown who want your day to be the greatest it can be. They're not seeing dollar signs, just making dreams come true. If if you're going to spend a lot on your wedding- spend it here b/c it won't afterwards. That is my honest impression.
I believe Nestldown is fine tuning the packages they offer to fit a greater variety of modern and demanding brides. I believe what we got (for what we paid) was exceptional. Thanks Nestldown! -

This venue is simply amazing! It was the star of our wedding and everyone enjoyed it. We had wanted to get married in the outdoor chapel but rain forced us to have the ceremony in the barn. It was gorgeous in there, though, and quite frankly I cannot imagine a better indoor venue than the barn so it was a win-win situation in the end. Brooke was amazing at helping us run the day and you really do not need a day-of coordinator there with her to keep on top of everything. With it pouring at the end of the night, they even helped transport our guests back up to the parking lot which I though was very nice of them. I highly recommend you check out this venue if you are in the area. It is truly unique and no one will forget it. I only wish the sun had been out so we could have ridden the miniature train :) -

Do you want a stunning ceremony reception amongst redwood trees and your first dance next to a fireplace in a beautiful barn? If so, Nestldown is for you. My husband and I were married here on November 3rd and we had the most incredible day! Brooke and her team worked tirelessly behind the scenes and everything ran more smoothly than I could have imagined. Our guests were blown away and no one can stop talking about how beautiful it was. I would recommend Brooke and Nestldown to any bride and groom who want a picturesque wedding venue with a great team! -

Nestldown is such a magical place to have a wedding. You wouldn't need much decoration, for the beauty of the trees, flowers, lake, bushes, & greens speak for itself and brings you to an awe.The place is also very clean & well maintained.
The property manager Brooke Greene is wonderful. She helped us out from beginning to end. She responded quickly to every question we had and was very organized, flexible, & positive about everything. Because of her, our wedding turned out the way we wanted it to be. We had a Disney Fairy Tale wedding and with every idea we had, she made sure that it turned out the way we wanted & even suggested better ideas. If something wasn't going to work out, Brooke helped think of alternatives that would be just as equal to our idea or even better. -

I fell in love with Nestldown the minute I came across their website and watched their slide show of wedding pictures. If you ever dreamed of a fairytale wedding with gardens and trees this is your spot. It's in the santa cruz mountains and was a beautiful backdrop to our wedding. Brooke the event manager is regarded as one of the best in the industry and I would completely agree. She was by my side to answer any questions I had through the entire process. She offered suggestions for the right vendors, was detialed down to the minute on our time line for the day, and even walked behind me to hold my dress as I went down the stairs to the aisle. The one thing I will mention is it is a pricey site but it includes so much that in the end I felt it was worth every penny. I suggest getting married their on a weekday if possible and off season if you can. It will save you alot. Best decision we made for the wedding. -

I think Nestldown is one of the best venues I have ever been to for a wedding. Working with them was amazing and Brooke their event manager is the most organized and professional people in the business. The price is high so if you can get married during the middle of the week it will save you about half. We got married on a Thursday and it was prefect. We had 4 different spots on the site for our event and everywhere you look there is a beautiful view. If you can come up with the price tag and are looking in the area it will be the best wedding decision you ever made. -

If I could do my wedding all over again (or go as a guest) I would definitely have it at Nestldown (again).
The setting is stunning and magical. The service (provided by Brooke, who is sort of an event-coordinator/superwoman person) is exceptional. She basically walks you through what you need to know about your event.
I have to be honest, my husband and I were totally entranced by the place after our first visit and didn't really check out many other venues. We considered museums, other outdoor locations, hotels, and stuff but Nestldown was perfect for our outdoor-loving selves.
Nestldown doesn't come cheap, but for us, it was totally worth the extra $ to have it here because it was so special.

Nestldown is a very special place for a wedding. We had our wedding at Nestldown a few weeks ago and all anyone can talk about is how incredible the venue was. Not only is Nestldown perfectly landscaped and a beautiful hideaway, the staff is terrific. They are extremely detail oriented and help to perfect the flow of the event. Brooke was extremely helpful from the moment we walked the grounds of Nestldown to our last dance. She DOES NOT miss a beat. The price of Nestldown may seem a bit much, but after my experience, it was worth every penny. It was straight out of a fairytale. Thank you Brooke and the entire Nestldown staff for your help in making our wedding the best day of our life! -

Why did we choose Nestldown for our wedding? Just take a walk through this deep forest-like venue and everything will come together. My wife and I were already married on paper since November of 2013 which made us somewhat ambivalent about our wedding day on May 11th 2014. We visited a few venues around the Bay Area and the ambiance was either too tacky or grossly overpriced for the physical location and/or amount of space available for use. Then our wedding photographers recommended that we give Nestldown a shot.
The instant we visited Nestldown, we knew this was meant to be the perfect place for our wedding. It literally feels like you are in the middle of an enchanted forest with a mid-sized cottage in the middle. There’s a train on the property where the kids can circle the forest along with a pond filled with fishes and several waterfalls. The place is so spacious that we had to ensure that our guests would not wander off volitionally. The most amazing aspect is that the event price is completely affordable. Regardless of how great this venue is, the owner Barbara Beck is what made all the difference.
About a month before our wedding, Barbara contacted us and raised her concerns about the lack of organization and planning for our wedding. I happen to be a very lucky man to marry a woman who didn’t go crazy and bizarre about her wedding day. Both nonchalant about our wedding, Barbara was worried that we would mess up our special day and decided to take control of all the planning and organization for us. She contacted all the vendor, sent us emails regularly to inform us, and responded all our inquiries in a timely manner.
As a lawyer already married on paper, I had limited expectation and enthusiasm for my wedding day. Nonetheless, I was absolutely surprised as everything went so perfect and far exceeded my expectations. With my wife somewhat carefree about our special day, it is only fair that I give Nestldown and Barbara credit. -

The most magical day of our lives!!
Our wedding day was pure magic because of Nestldown and the Nestldown staff! I honestly don’t think there is a more beautiful wedding venue out there. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous year round and are so well maintained. The ceremony space amongst the redwoods was exactly what my husband and I were looking for and it made for the most beautiful and special ceremony. We’ve been told by so many of our guests how it was the most unique and breathtaking wedding ceremonies they’ve ever been to. One of the things we loved the most about Nestldown is how vast the property is and how each part of our day had a unique vibe and feeling. We had our cocktail hour in Foxglove Meadow which was perfect for all of the activities we had for our guests (including a golf hole!). Dinner on the main lawn was absolutely gorgeous with the trees lit up by the pond and the surrounding gardens bloomed with beautiful flowers. The barn made the perfect setting for our dance party. Every part of the day was perfection and we feel so lucky to have gotten married there. Nestldown definitely has a lot of rules and policies that worried us at times during the planning process but when it came down to our actual wedding day it was all worth it.
Also, a huge shout out to our SEM Danielle! She was SO amazing to work with every step of the way. Always there for us to help with any questions or things that popped up. On the day-of she was extremely attentive and really made sure everything went super smoothly and according to plan. Thanks to her we were able to really relax and enjoy our day!
They offer every couple the chance to come back on their anniversary for a celebratory picnic and we can’t wait to come back! Its the most magical place ever!-

The day couldn't have been more perfect and I would, without hesitation, recommend other couples to trust their special, magic day with Nestldown.
My wife and I got married at Nestldown in 06/2019 and couldn't have had a better experience. The venue is unbeatable, which goes without saying. I am someone who appreciates essential contact (I am busy!), and Nestldown did an excellent job of matching us with a coordinator who did exactly that. I was not flooded with unnecessary emails, nor was I not wondering where the communication was at - it was perfect! If I had questions, they were answered in a very timely fashion (often within the hour). Nestldown works like a WELL OILED MACHINE and as a consumer, you need to trust that. We did and would do it all again the exact same way. They do have particular policies that you need to be aware of, but they are not at all detrimental to the day and if anything, they add magic to the day without you even noticing. They know their property, their staff, the flow of how you want your wedding. The "preferred vendors" list was also a game changer - we saved so much time, money, and energy by trusting our day, food, videography, photography, and many other services to this list. The day couldn't have been more perfect and I would, without hesitation, recommend other couples to trust their special, magic day with Nestldown. -

The BEST Wedding Venue EVER!!!
I cannot stress enough how gorgeous this venue is. My, now, husband and I went hunting for the perfect venue a little over a year ago. We only viewed 5 places, Nestldown being the first. After our 5th location, I decided that Nestldown had to be the spot. Yes, Nestldown is not the cheapest venue, but we just had to make it happen and we were not disappointed at all.
The owners were very personable and friendly. They invited us into their home to sign the contract. They made us feel welcome - like family during our whole process.
We signed the contract and begun our planning adventure for the next year. We visited this venue a few times to meet with our coordinator, Marissa, and to get a feel for how we wanted to set everything up the day of our wedding. The flowers hadn't yet bloomed the days we visited prior to the wedding, but they were in full force on our special day! It was a pleasant and beautiful surprise on the day of our wedding to see how beautiful and majestic this place truly is. The weather was a wonderful 78 degrees, sunny, and warm. Marissa made sure everything ran smoothly the day of. The staff was superb. Seriously could not have been a better day for us. It was worth the money we spent - every single penny. (We celebrated 4/19/2019.)
Things to know:
1.) They provide a day of coordinator and coordinating team. "Day of" means she will organize and set everything up that the caterer and florist do not handle. She makes sure everything gets done pre-wedding and is there with you and your party making sure the day runs smoothly. There is no need to hire a wedding coordinator, at least, the day of. Also, the "day of" coordinator will meet with you a few times throughout the wedding planning process. They will create an intensive timeline so you know exactly what's going on from start to finish and everything in between. Literally!
2.) There are a ton of additions you can choose to have like the fireplace on, the piano available to play, the firepit on (we used this for s'mores table), lawn games (extra fee), the train on during cocktail hours for the guest to ride (included).
3.) I cannot stress this enough - you can pay for 2 hours of extra time. It is not cheap but it is WORTH THE MONEY!!! After taking pictures, schmoozing with the guests, taking more pictures, schmoozing more, eating, pictures, barely getting a drink at the bar, more pictures, first dance, walking around to see the whole set up of the venue - when open dancing comes around...there's no time left for yourselves to just let loose. This made a huge difference. If we did not add this extra time, we would have maybe 45-min to dance and just be ourselves without worrying about anything else.
4.) We chose all our vendors off the vendor list. Best idea since they have been to Nestldown several times and know the layout and how everything works. Makes things run so much better.
All in all, this was the best decision we made. Definitely considering celebrating our 1-year anniversary here. Thank you, everyone!-

Nestldown is hands down the most beautiful ceremony/reception site in Northern CA!! We looked at many many places and Nestldown was the most perfect, special, magical spot that we just HAD to have it! It is expensive, but is definitely worth it. It MADE our wedding. We stayed the night before in the guest cottage with our wedding party which was adorable and perfect. It was really nice to be at the location of our wedding so there was no driving or stress. Brooke Greene is the wedding coordinator for Nestldown and she is absolutely fantastic. She really helped get everything together which kept me calm and happy. More about the site though, there is a train that travels through the property, a fantasy childrens cottage, a beautiful lake surrounded by huge redwoods and a beautiful "barn" that is more like a large lavish cabin etc.. My photos are so gorgeous because of the Nestldown surroundings, I highly recommend this sought after paradise! -

Nestldown is simply stunning. It's truly a very special venue. It's gorgeous, playful, whimsical and the staff is all amazingly professional and incredibly helpful. My guests are still raving about how "unique", "fun", "amazing" the venue was. It really is a one of a kind kind of place.
The *only* caveat is the price. It is expensive, but if you're looking to spend this much money on a venue, this one is the one to spend it on.
I also highly recommend the bridal party staying in the on property cottage the night before. The cottage is adorable and luxurious at the same time, and it was so much less stressful to have everyone already onsite and together when trying to get ready. -

Nestledown is in a beautiful location, and the service is very good. It's high up in the Santa Cruz mountains, so your guests will have a bit of a drive. The only caveat is the expensive price. -

Picturesque venue! 7/19/15 wedding
Wow! What a stunning venue! I knew Nestldown was the place I wanted to get married the moment I laid eyes on the grounds. The grounds are always well kept and surreal in sight. They have made it physically acceptable for all, utilizing golf carts to help cart people around if needed. They provide a variety of activities for the guests to enjoy. The on-site coordinator is there from the beginning of the process to assist the bride with planning needs at the venue. My coordinator, My-Dung, was very timely, professional, and cordial during the planning period in her communication with me. She even made the extra effort to video chat with me for our "first meeting" since we could not meet in person due to distance! She made it her goal to make sure all of my desires were met for that day.
A couple drawbacks would be a lack of communication with the bride regarding the time during the reception, causing rushed feelings during dinner and the grand exit at the end of the night. I barely greeted any of my guests at dinner due to a lack of knowing how much time I had before the other festivities began. Some guests, as well as myself, felt rushed to leave the venue at the end of the night, some feeling that the staff were more abrupt in manner. If you can get through the limitations, many pages of contracts, and specific instructions, this venue is very much so worth it! I have heard numerous praises of how beautiful it was, and I agree! I cannot wait for the pictures! -

I was recently married at Nestldown in Oct 2014. We absolutely loved the venue, and we are so so glad we chose it. We bought the Nestldown+ package for a day of coordinator, and I'm really glad we did that too. We had a 150 person fusion wedding, so it would have been very difficult for me to coordinate that without extra help. Thank you to Jaynie!
The 4 star rating for responsiveness is not because of Jaynie. Our coordinator was switched from Alexandra to Jaynie, and I think before the switch over, Alexandra might have had too much on her plate. Once Jaynie was our designated coordinator, response time improved greatly!
It's interesting; there are a few difficult things to deal with at Nestldown, but it all feels worth it because it is just that beautiful and professional. We had a blast at our wedding, and I know a lot of that is because it is gorgeous and has really great management.
Now to describe the difficult parts, Nestldown is very expensive and very strict about their rules. They have you sign a long legal contract that threatens charges for violations. I'm sure this is common practice, especially in the privately owned areas of Los Gatos. You need an approved caterer, DJ, and shuttle driver. You're also not allowed to take shots?! Use of the driveway is very strictly enforced for the safety of the guests, but that can add hours and $$ to your vendors, like a photo booth. I honestly forget the other rules now, but it felt like a bit much. Again, they run a very good business there though so it makes sense. A good business protects itself. I'm still giving them 4 stars for flexibility because they helped us incorporate important Indian traditions.
Despite the above caveat, when our entire event came together, we realized how wonderful it was that the venue looked as beautiful as we dreamed our wedding would look. I don't miss wedding planning, but I do miss visiting Nestldown!! We might stay at the house on the hill for an anniversary... -

Amazing and magical. I only needed to see one venue to make my choice for my wedding day. Nestldown can't be described in words. Almost every guest came up to us to express their awe at our beautiful surroundings. If you want a truly special place to be married, choose Nestldown! -

Nestldown made our wedding dreams a reality. The grounds are just beautiful - vibrant flowers, beautiful pounds and lush greenery. Our ceremony was held in the chapel area, surrounded by the tall trees and overlooking the pond. We loved the dramatic entrance from the staircase. Our reception was on the lawn and then moved inside for dancing. For evenings, the lawn provides great lighting for photos.
Brooke and her team were so nice and responsive. Everyone was a joy to work with, and they made us feel like our wedding was special despite the number of weddings they have each week.
They are a bit strict with their curfews, but it's expected given the location. -

Nestldown is unlike any other wedding venue and I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. It is expensive, but I thought it was worth the cost. Brooke, the coordinator, was such a sweetheart and organized. The only caveat is since it is such a big venue, although doable, it will be hard to plan a wedding without at least a day-of coordinator. It is also a little hard to find so prepare your guests for that. -

This venue was amazing!!! I looked online on a few different websites to see what venues are around the area and my bff actually mentioned Nestldown to me since her boyfriend went to a wedding there. When she told me about it, she said it was a barn and in my head I was like mmkay, let's see this so called barn! So we looked up pictures on yelp and it was just gorgeous! I fell in love with the place from just seeing it online. There weren't any other venues that caught my eye so Chris and I checked it out and knew when we were there that this was the one.
We booked a year in advance and chose Friday, August 8th because Friday is more affordable, 10k (for up to 150 people) versus 15k (for up to 150 people) for a Saturday. The price to me was totally worth it, the ambiance was amazing, being surrounded by all the redwoods was truly breathtaking and ALL our guests were as amazed as we were being surrounded by nature. Plus, the venue does not need a lot of decoration, it is already gorgeous all around. We did minimal floral decoration in the ceremony area and added personal touches to the barn area. Even though it was summer, I chose to have dinner in the barn mainly because of the flies that are out in the summer. The barn seats up to 125 guests comfortably and we had 115 guests. After dinner, we just pushed the tables back to make room for a dance floor. Oh man, we had so much fun! The only thing I wish is that we could have rented the venue out for a longer amount of time- we had to do the last dance at 9:30pm since everyone had to be out by 10pm since ND is in a neighborhood with time restraints on parties (boo!). -

STUNNING Venue; Watch Out For Extra Fees.
Venue:
After touring several venues in the Bay Area (including The Hastings House, Villa Montalvo, and Santa Lucia Preserve), we saw Nestldown and immediately loved it! Its stunning grounds, tinkling waterfalls, fantasy garden, and the variety of setting options for your event are breathtaking. I particularly appreciated that guests would not be bored while we did photos, there was so much to explore and see.
Nestldown has a motto of "gardens first", which means they are a garden first and a wedding venue second. There are a lot of rules for the vendors to follow to keep the grounds as stunning as they are (if you choose vendors off the recommended list, they will be well versed in those rules). Once you see the venue in person, you quickly appreciate the rules and respect how much they care about the gardens! :)
Pricing:
It's quite pricey.
We got married in April on a Saturday, and the base price was $20k. The price fluctuates by the day and the season. After additional add-ons, such as extra time to set up/tear down, extra golf carts to help people around the very large venue, games for the lawn, any extra headcount, etc., we expected the grand total to land close to $28k.
What to watch out for:
- Headcount. Our date had a minimum headcount of 125, with a max of 150 (with a $200 fee for each person between 126-150). Children 3 years and younger do not count towards the final headcount.
- Some hidden fees. There were some last-minute surprises.
Example 1: if you are renting furniture such as tables, chairs, or other furniture, each vendor is allotted *exactly* 1 truck. Each additional truck is an additional $500, just to let them park it. You might not know the number of trucks a vendor will have until the week of your wedding so this can easily be a last-minute surprise.
Example 2: If they require you to change your plans last minute due to rain you will get it with late fees. We were going to hold cocktail hour in Foxglove Meadow, and dinner on the Main Lawn. It rained a few days before the wedding, and because of "gardens first", they forced us to pick new spots on the venue the day before the wedding (their grounds master will confirm the ground is dry enough the day before your wedding; this is normal). It's absolutely fair to not want chairs digging holes into the grass, so we moved cocktail hour to the Koi Pond and dinner to the Tent. We weren't changing the date, bringing in additional people or furniture, no additional setup, we simply moved from one spot on the venue to another at their request. It didn't feel good to then get hit with unexpected late fees for the changes that had to occur at *their* request and requirements. Additionally, because we had to use the tent for dinner, they added additional fees for cleaning it, running torch warmers, etc. - all fees that were added last minute and we were not informed of ahead of time, due to the fact that they made us switch locations.
Value:
After extras and last-minute fees, our total for the venue came out to $33.5k. It felt like they knew we wouldn't back out the week of the wedding, so they could charge any additional fees they wanted. When challenged about this being bad business practice, they leaned on "fair and equal"; in other words, because they have always charged these last-minute fees, it'd be unfair to all previous couples to update their policy and stop charging these fees to future couples... you can decide how you feel about that business reasoning. Having run a business, it didn't feel right to me, especially given that their reasoning for "fair and equal" was that "every couple has complained about this, so changing it now wouldn't be right." Well, if every couple has complained, perhaps it's *due time* to change this policy!
The venue itself was absolutely magical! It was the most beautiful venue I've ever seen, and I'm so glad that in the end, everything worked out. Every guest told us it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to, and I believe them! :) The staff were kind and extremely well trained. Everything ran smoothly, thanks in large part to our wedding planner (HIGHLY recommend working with Lisa from BloomingWed). While I could have done without the last-minute, very stressful, and pricey shenanigans, I wouldn't change the venue. The day was perfect!
Advice:
-Read the fine print. :)
-Use recommended vendors.
-Get a wedding planner (the Nestldown SEM is not a planner)!
-The extra venue time and golf carts are worth it.
-The extra train time is not worth it.
-Having the Nestldown Therapeutic Riding Center horses is worth it, and this is a charitable contribution!
-We didn't use the house for getting ready, it only holds 12 people (including vendors). Instead, we got two Parlor Suites at the nearby Toll House Hotel, which worked perfectly.
-Consider having a shuttle for your guests to/from the Toll House Hotel.
-Consider a rehearsal luncheon or after-party at Campo di Bocce in Los Gatos.
I hope this was helpful and informative, and congratulations on your upcoming event!

Cathedral of redwood trees
We got married at Nestldown in September 2019 and our wedding was better than I could've imagined! We selected this venue because of the breathtaking ceremony space that makes you feel like you're in a cathedral of redwood trees, the expansive lawn for outdoor dining, and beautiful barn for dancing. The staff at Nestldown are absolute pros at executing weddings seamlessly and giving guests the best experience possible. Several of our guests have remarked that it was the best wedding they have been to. Much of this credit goes to our Special Events Manager, Marissa Barnes, and the rest of the staff at Nestldown. The only issue we faced was Nestldown's insistence that you use a wedding planner off of their approved list, or pay a $1,000 fee. I understood this policy and willingly paid the fee when I found an off-list planner that I loved, but Nestldown still made me feel like it was a big inconvenience for them to work with someone off-list. That was the only hitch. My wedding planner learned the venue quickly, and the day was perfect! -

Nestldown is the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever seen. If money isn't an issue, then Nestldown is a no-brainer. The only real down-side to this venue is that the party ends at 10 p.m. NO exceptions because it's in a rural area with homes nearby. -

All I can say is this (Venue) is amazing. Its a ferry tale wedding venue. Its family run and they TRY to do there best to make everything go smooth. They need to tighten up there professionalism and follow through. I understand that they have 3 events every weekend but that does not mean that they can slack on follow through. They charge enough to hire extra people to help out with the details. paper work, layout, vendor follow up, etc. I wish they would pretend that your day was special and not just another event that they have done so many of. They are too relaxed through the planning process and the day of little things come up that they didn't go over with vendors or let you know about and you need to react on the fly. We had an amazing wedding and every guest loved it. I just knew what was really going on and I got frustrated. I take a business deal seriously and when i'm the client I expect to be treated as one. I would recommend the venue but interview all the in house coordinators for the venue before you choose one. -

Completely Mistreating Couples During COVID
They have completed mistreated all of their during the COVID pandemic. They have falsely told couples whose wedding was canceled that they can keep their deposit without having to refund them or given them a new date. They have also charged couples who asked to be rescheduled for a similar date (ie a weekend if they paid for a weekend) an extra 40% on top of their original price. They've refused to reduce their price despite massive changes in how the wedding will be put on, and have kept all deposits of those who canceled because of COVID concerns.
It is a beautiful venue, and if your wedding goes off without a hitch, you will like it, but know that you are dealing with people that value their bottom line over doing the right (and legal) thing. -

COVID Wedding Disaster
I was supposed to be a groom in a wedding originally scheduled for August. Nestldown has really let my fiancée and I down and we are extremely disappointed by our experience Nestldown. We choose Nestldown because its beautiful property reflected our dreams and we hoped that it would become a reality for our wedding day. Unfortunately, that dream has been shattered by COVID 19 and our poor experience with Nestldown during this pandemic. It has been a painful experience.
Shelter-in-place restrictions began in March & soon after we reached out to Nestldown to ask about our options (See what the venue's safety guidelines, additional challenges & rescheduling options). After several emails we were contacted by the events program manager who directed us to wait until June 1st when she would share the options available to us. We were patient because we knew that there were couples before us who had to cancel due to the restrictions. Throughout our communications, we were under the impression that we would be able to reschedule our wedding for an equivalent weekend date sometime in 2021 depending on availability, but this was not at all the case.
My fiancée and I waited all day on June 1st, for an update from the events manager. Finally, in the evening, we received an email with some very unexpected options. Instead of Nestldown rescheduling our wedding for a comparable date, the options they provided were:
1) Keep our Date & Wait & See. Not only would keeping our date put our guests in danger (many of our guests are from out of town), but as of June the social gatherings limit for Santa Clara County was 25 people. Meaning we could only have 25 people including the photographer, etc., & we would have to uninvite some of our 150 guests. Please note that with the pandemic, we’ve been "on hold" since March unable & uncomfortable to continue with any additional plans & new deposits.
2) Reschedule our wedding for the contracted price for an available Mon, Tues or Wed.
3) Reschedule our wedding for one of Nestldown's available Thurs, Fri or Sat in 2021 & pay an additional 40% on top of what we originally agreed to in our contract. (To hold our new date, we would have to pay 100% of the original cost & we were not guaranteed the same time of year - in the original contract, there is an extra cost for weekends & an extra cost for "peak" season).
4) Cancel our Wedding & Lose our 50% Deposit. Meaning, that we have to cancel our wedding but Nestldown would keep our deposit.
All of these options were not acceptable or viable for us. We were shocked and disappointed. We had already invested so much into our day and we felt misled & were particularly upset when we found out that they had known these were the options since April. We felt betrayed & taken advantage of. We asked for a call with the owners to better understand the options and see if we would be able to work something out. They did take our call but they refused to deviate from their prior positions or return our deposit.
In a follow up email, we asked if it would be possible to get even a part of our deposit back & they refused again. All we want & have asked for is a reasonable amount of our deposit back so that we can have a wedding later when it is safe. We are truly crushed and disappointed at Nestldown’s poor partnership. We feel like they do not care about couples at all and only care about their bottom line.
To help future couples avoid this painful process & disappointment, I am sharing our story to help inform couples considering Nestldown for their venue. -

Beautiful garden, but too many snakes
Nestldown is such a beautiful venue. My fiancé and I fell in love with it when we visited. They were so courteous during the whole process. Although they are pricey, we signed to have our wedding with them for this year and have worked very hard to save for our big day.
Then COVID-19 occurred. California was sheltering in place and their communication to us was non-existent. When we inquired about rescheduling due to the pandemic in April, they told us that we had to wait until July to talk about it. Then we heard about other couples having trouble with Nestldown from a deleted thread on WeddingWire. When we asked Nestldown, they confirmed that they were giving couples the options of:
1. Keeping the wedding date during a pandemic that has killed 135,000 people in the US, with numbers climbing.
2. Cancel your wedding so they get to pocket the deposit.
3. Choose a Monday to Wednesday date for next year, without a charge. Even though they charged you extra for your weekend date and weekday weddings are tough for many reasons.
4. They charge 40% extra rescheduling fee for a Thursday to Sunday date because they want to make up for lost income due to the pandemic.
None of these options have the couples' best interests in mind. Nestldown is acting like they are the only people hurt by this pandemic. Other venues and vendors are struggling through this, losing out on possible income, and yet they are kind enough to reschedule with couples without any fees or just refund them. Nestldown is charging up to $10,000 to reschedule our weddings to 2021 or 2022. Couples are struggling through this. Some of us, having lost our jobs. But Nestldown thinks it is perfectly fine to take advantage of struggling couples by forcing them to choose between 4 bad options.
Nestldown has been replying to our negative reviews by using the narrative of them being a family owned business, which would go broke if they refunded couples or rescheduled weddings to the same day of the week in a safer year for free. How will they pay their staff and keep their business running if they truly cared for couples? Well, I was extremely disappointed, shocked, and angry when I found out that they received hundreds of thousands of dollars in a PPP loan to help during COVID-19 in May. While couples are struggling, many not able to afford another venue without the deposit or to pay Nestldown an additional 40%, Nestldown had hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep going. Please remember that Nestldown is not a 35-acre garden. It is actually 180-acre property owned by a family. How large is your family's property?

Poor Partnership, Bad Experience and Extremely Disappointing - COVID Nightmare
I am saddened and extremely disappointed in the poor partnership and experience I have had with Nestldown. Many people dream of having a fairy tale wedding and it is true, Nestldown has a beautiful property but how they have treated couples during this pandemic has been shocking and unsettling.
COVID 19 and the shelter-in-place restrictions began in March and soon after I reached out to Nestldown multiple times throughout March, April and May to see about potential challenges, the venue's safety guidelines, & rescheduling options for our late August wedding. After several emails and a meeting with our coordinator (who was recently assigned after our first one left) to go over the timeline, we asked the same questions again and shared our concern. We were then directed to the Events Program manager who said that we would need to wait until June 1st before she would share the options available to us. Toward the end of May, I requested that we schedule a meeting for June 1st but the Event Manager said that she would send an email. We tried to be patient because we knew that they were presenting this opportunity to other couples who had to cancel due to the restrictions and since their wedding was first they were given priority. We were under the impression that we would be able to reschedule our wedding for the same day of the week and cost sometime in 2021 depending on Nestldown's availability. This was not the case.
On June 1st, we anxiously waited all day and followed up with the Events Manager mid day for the promised update. Finally, at 6:15pm, we received an email with some very unexpected options. Instead of Nestldown rescheduling our wedding for a comparable date, the options were:
1) Keep our Date and Wait & See. Not only would keeping our date put our guests in danger (many of our guests are from out of town and would have to travel), but as of June the social gatherings limit for Santa Clara County was 25 people. Meaning I could only have 25 people including the photographer, caterer, etc., and I would have to uninvite some of our 150 guests. (For those of you with larger families, you understand why this is not an option). Not only that but with the shut down and our wedding being in August, we have been "on hold" since March unable and uncomfortable to continue with any additional wedding plans and new deposits.2) Reschedule our wedding for the contracted price for an available Mon, Tues or Wed.3) Reschedule our wedding for one of Nestldown's available Thursday, Friday or Saturdays in 2021 and pay an additional 40% on top of what we originally agreed to in our contract. (Please note, in order to officially hold our new date, we would have to pay 100% of the original venue cost AND we were not guaranteed the same time of year - in the original contract, there is an extra cost for weekends and an extra cost for "peak" season - meaning Late Spring through Early Fall).
4) Cancel our Wedding and Lose our 50% Deposit. As in, you can cancel your wedding but Nestldown would keep your deposit.
We were shocked. Not only were these options egregious, but we felt misled and were particularly upset when we found out that they had known these were the options (since April) and had made us wait. (We found this out after seeing some posts on WeddingWire). We felt betrayed and our patience used. We then asked for a call with the owners in hopes that maybe we can gain some additional insight into our options. They did take our call but they refused to deviate from their prior positions or return our deposit.
In a follow up email, we then asked if it would be possible to get even part of our deposit back and they refused again with hostility.
All we want and have asked for is our deposit back so that we can have a wedding later when the regulations allow gatherings of this size and it is safe. Without our deposit back, we can't have the wedding that we originally hoped for.
To help future couples avoid this pain and disappointment, I am sharing our story to help inform couples considering Nestldown for their venue. -

Choosing their bottom line above love during COVID-19
My fiancé and I were scheduled to have our wedding ceremony and reception at Nestldown in September of this year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its continuing worldwide impact, it is impossible to hold our event as planned. We have been deeply troubled by Nestldown's response amidst the crisis, and it is with much sorrow that I share my experience here.
To date we have had no proactive official communication from Nestldown regarding COVID-19. It was through Yelp that we were first made aware that Nestldown had closed due to the pandemic, and we have had to reach out to Nestldown each time we have sought any information or updates. We first reached out to Nestldown regarding COVID-19 on March 31, 2020. Further, we first learned of the current Nestldown rescheduling options from a wedding website community discussion thread. We continue to be told that we will not be able to begin rescheduling discussions until an unspecified date in July. The failure of Nestldown to provide proactive and timely communication robs us of the full exercise of our rights and options. We recommend that, moving forward, the Nestldown team prioritizes proactive and transparent communication with all potentially affected couples in order to engender trust and provide much-needed support during such unsettling times.
The Nestldown rescheduling options that have been provided to us are as follows:
1. Continue with our original wedding date with the current guest + vendor count capped at 25 people (everyone must wear masks). No discount given for lower guest count (originally set at 150).
2. Reschedule to a Monday through Wednesday in 2021/2022 with no additional charge. No discount given for moving to a much less expensive day of the week (Nestldown has historically only offered weddings Thursday through Sunday, each with a different not-inexpensive price point).
3. Reschedule to a Friday (as originally contracted for) in 2021/2022 with an additional $8,400 charge (for a date within July through October).
4. Cancel and forfeit our $10,000 deposit.
None of the options meet the expectations set forth within our contract, so are not acceptable. Unfortunately, Nestldown has communicated that these options will not change.
There is so much turmoil in California, the US, and the world right now. It is incredibly disappointing that Nestldown is choosing to value their bottom line above the sanctity of human life, and it is quite unfortunate that they're taking such a hard line in response to our request to reschedule to a Friday in 2021 without an additional fee. Our trust in their ability to operate ethically within our Bay Area community has been seriously degraded.
I hope that, in sharing my story, other affected couples will not feel as isolated or powerless as we have. We believe a moral compass should drive all business decisions. Nestldown is being unethical by taking advantage of couples attempting to reimagine their dreams amidst a surging pandemic. It is hurtful, and it is wrong. We hope Nestldown will have a change of heart, and choose love before their bottom line.

Is Nestldown beautiful? Yes, absolutely; however, after talking with over 30 wedding venues, they are the absolute worst with communication, follow-up and common courtesy, and are simply not worth the hassle. Due to them being so popular, they are not worried about following up with potential clients or even responding to emails. After touring the site on Sept 1, 2018, we were given an email of available dates on Sept 4th. We requested to place a date on hold that same night (within an hour of the email) and the following day (Sept 5) were told the date was previously on hold (though the first email did not have that marked). Devra stated she was scheduled to have a phone call with the other couple the next day, on Sept 6th, at 1pm and would get back to as soon as she knew after the phone call. However, she NEVER emailed me back. Instead, I sent her a follow-up email on the evening of Sept 6th, only to hear nothing back from her. I again reached out with another email, one including my previous attempts to contact her, on Sept 13th and still have not heard back from her. As previously stated Nestldown is beautiful, but so are many other venues. Nestldown has by far the worst customer service, especially considering the price for booking there. I would not recommend booking your wedding at Nestldown.
