We couldn't have found a more perfect officiant if we'd made her ourselves!

From the first email Kenna sent us (the same day I sent an info request), we knew we were in good hands. Every interaction we had with her was perfect. She totally understood us, and even though we really didn't know exactly what we wanted, she took our vague ideas and our nerdy likes and designed a ceremony and vows that were better than we could have imagined. It was everything we hoped for and more. She took what might have been a simple fill-in-the-blank totally forgettable ceremony and made it a celebration of our unique and nerdy love that everyone who was there will remember for years and that we will remember forever. We can't thank her enough! If you're hesitating on picking someone for your off-the-beaten-track ceremony, don't hesitate another second. Reach out to Kenna - you won't regret it!

Perfection

Kenna is so amazing to work with. She is so warm, friendly, inviting and funny. Everyone had a good laugh and a good sniffle. Our ceremony was perfect and so personalized for us. It's like she has known us for years.

Magical, emotional secular ceremony

Cynthia's ceremony was a perfect encapsulation of my relationship with my wife and launching point for our married life together. Cynthia is clearly a thoughtful and experienced craftsperson with creating personalized ceremonies. She was very collaborative with including us in suggesting additions to the ceremony. On the day-of, it all ran wonderfully. We both were tearful and joyful with her heartfelt words and the magic of the moment. I would recommend her to any other couples looking for a meaningful secular ceremony in a heartbeat!

Best Officiant!!!

There really are no words to describe how wonderful Cynthia is! She worked so hard to get to know us and make our wedding day so special. I was very overwhelmed the month leading up to the wedding and Cynthia kept things on track and helped form the ceremony. She was wonderful to work with and really went above and beyond. Highly recommended!

Best part of our whole day!!!

Our wedding ceremony was my favorite part of our whole day, and for that I thank Cynthia. She took time to get to know my husband (then-fiancé) and me with fun and thought-provoking written questions which she used in crafting a personalized experience that was exactly what we wanted...even though we started out not knowing what we wanted! She had great ideas about how to incorporate different spiritual views and values into the ceremony in a way that reflected our love and made us and our families happy. She encouraged our feedback every step of the way, and incorporated our every wish perfectly. Having a secular wedding, we did not know what to include she guided us expertly with humor and grace, allowing us to write as much or as little of the ceremony as we liked and providing lots of romantic poetry and reading material for inspiration. I so appreciate that she was willing to make edits until the last minute. Such a gem, I am so happy we found her and so grateful for this most beautiful gift.

Beautiful ceremony

Cynthia did a fantastic job with taking our personal story and turning it into a beautifully written ceremony. She took the time to get to know us and really made our love story something beautiful to share. We didn't hire a wedding coordinator so Cynthia was very helpful to us with making decisions about the ceremony along the way. She has become a good friend to us! Highly recommend her!

Even better than we could have hoped for

I had been stressed out about how to find an officiant for our wedding, because neither of us are religious, but we still wanted something meaningful. I found NC Secular Weddings, and once I saw the sample ceremony on their website, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. My fiance felt the same way, and we did a choose-your-own adventure ceremony where we selected from various options for each part of the ceremony. Kenna added personal touches that were specific to us, and in the end we had a deeply meaningful ceremony that reflected what was important to both of us, yet without having to write our own vows from scratch. She was great to work with. On the day, many people commented that the ceremony was very touching.

Cynthia is wonderful!

Cynthia did an absolutely fantastic job of creating and officiating a personalized ceremony for our wedding in Raleigh. She made our day even more heartwarming and beautiful thanks to her kind nature and her professionalism. We had only been in touch with Cynthia for about a month before our big day, but she is so warm and caring that we had multiple wedding guests thinking she was a long-time friend. She worked with us to create the exact ceremony and feel we were looking for, was very open to our suggestions, and was incredibly responsive to our emails/texts and requests. She was also very accomodating to any last minute changes that may have been needed, which is always appreciated when the big day rolls around. Our family and friends had so many good things to say about our ceremony, and I would absolutely recommend Cynthia to anyone looking for a heartfelt secular ceremony.

Warm and heartfelt ceremony!

Kenna is just the kindest, warmest human being and we are so happy she performed our wedding. She wrote an absolutely beautiful and personalized ceremony for us. We got complements from so many of our guests about how wonderful Kenna was and that the ceremony was just perfect. Obviously, we couldn't agree more!! She even endured a little rain that started during our unity ceremony. :) And as far as the process leading up to our special day, Kenna was very responsive to all our emails and communicated the steps we could expect along the way. We just adore Kenna and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a loving, heartfelt ceremony.

One of Kind, we'll remember her words for a lifetime.

Kenna was incredible, 100% genuine, super organized, and she really took the time to get to know us. She went above and beyond to make our wedding ceremony truly reflect our relationship in all of the quirky, cheese-loving, nerdy, and nuanced ways that we do.

The ceremony was beautiful and perfect. So many people came up to us and said that what Kenna wrote was the most unique and beautiful ceremony they had ever been to and her voice is incredible.

On the day of the wedding, she was a bright light of calm, positivity, and happiness, which was so calming to everyone as we walked down the aisle. If you are looking for a secular officiant in the Triangle, look to further, Kenna is the girl for you!

Kenna is amazing!!

Kenna is such a great person! She’s super nice and you can tell she really cares about the couples she marries. We had a difficult time finding someone who would do an entirely secular wedding and who didn’t seem to be condescending about our choices. However, Kenna was genuinely accepting and excited about our choices. We could tell right away that she was going to be a good fit for us. Even though it took multiple drafts to finalize our ceremony (because we were super picky), it was obvious throughout that process that Kenna was creative and fully invested in designing the perfect ceremony for us. In order to get to know us better, she had each of us answer monthly questions. She gave us a copy of our answers after the ceremony and we had so much fun reading our answers to each other. Her delivery of the ceremony was fantastic, and we are so grateful for her role in our wedding.

Kenna officiated our June wedding and we could not have been more pleased with her service and with our ceremony. She's a pro, super organized, keeps you on track with the logistics of applying for a marriage license leading up to the day and the marriage certificate afterward. Communication was excellent and her fee extremely reasonable. We chose her simple ceremony script and it was just beautiful. We did personalize one part of it and she incorporated it without question. We received many compliments from our guests on the beautiful ceremony. I loved Kenna, and I am so happy that my husband and I chose her to officiate our wedding. She is so sweet and friendly, and working with her was a pleasure. She was very accommodating with everything we wanted for the wedding, and even threw in some great suggestions, such as the idea for a unity ceremony. We told her that we wanted the ceremony to be equal, and in no way favor one gender over another. What we got was a beautiful ceremony that emphasized love, friendship and sharing. It was full of inspiring words that we want to keep close to our heart for the rest of our lives. And even though it started to rain during the ceremony, Kenna found a way to incorporate it, and concluded the ceremony by saying "Every time it rains, you will remember this day." I would definitely recommend Kenna to anyone who is looking for a non-religious officiant. Seriously, you will not be disappointed!

From the moment that my husband and I met Kenna for an initial consultation, we knew she was the perfect person that we wanted to officiate our wedding. She took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple through our responses to monthly questions, and she wrote the most perfect, personalized ceremony for us. So many guests came up to us during the reception and mentioned how special the ceremony was, and how "us" it was. Kenna was kind, flexible, professional, and responsive during the whole process. Also, how could I forget how sincere and warm her voice was during our ceremony?! Our ceremony was absolutely perfect, and Kenna is responsible for that!

Kenna was so amazing through the entire process! When we got married, we had been living on opposite sides of the country for almost a year. Kenna was able to do some webcam conferencing in lieu of sitting down with us. She had great input on ideas like a ring warming and a unity ceremony, and was super accommodating of all our questions. When the big day came, she was extraordinary. The ceremony she crafted was beautiful. People have continued to comment well after the wedding how incredible she was, and wondering if she'd known us both personally because she created such a warm and personal message of love. I cannot say enough positive things about her!

Let me just say, if we hadn't hired Kenna to marry us our wedding would have been dull and lacking all the love that one wants. She is absolutely amazing she had every one there tearing up and laughing. She made it so memorable so unique and so perfect. She was worth every penny and honestly I'd pay double just to have her again if you are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and puts honest time into the ceremony they create for you this is where you need to go. I could never imagine anyone else being there. Not only was she an amazing officiant I think she's going to become a wonderful friend!

Kenna was truly amazing!! She made our ceremony so special and meaningful- so many guests kept saying it was the best ceremony they had ever seen! Everyone was crying! Kenna has such a calming personality and is full of light- she really put us at easy from the beginning and is a great spokeswoman for LOVE :).

She really lead us through the whole process from beginning to end and created a completely custom ceremony for us at a great price. Even our conservative religious families fell in love with her. If you want a meaningful, honest, romantic ceremony she's THE BEST!!

We used Cynthia as our officiant. We had a last-minute thing and needed a new officiant, and she stepped in, worked with us, and helped us pull off an AWESOME ceremony! She's the best, and I would totally recommend her for any type of wedding, although ours had a more secular bent.

Keena was wonderful throughout the entire process. She is so warm and loving. Our first officiant bailed on us and we could not be more thankful that he did. Kenna was a wonderful officiant for our wedding this past Saturday. We loved her at our first meeting. She would send us monthly questions about our relationship to answer separately, which she then used to create our ceremony script. We got the script one month out, and were able to change as much or as little as we wanted. The ceremony was wonderful and we had several people say they enjoyed hearing our vows.

Kenna was one of the best parts of our wedding day! From the moment we met her, she set the tone for how things would go. She came to our first meeting totally prepared and enthusiastic to incorporate our kooky ideas into our ceremony. Throughout the course of our engagement and wedding planning, she sent monthly emails and helpful reminders, then worked our responses into our ceremony. At the rehearsal she was cool and accommodating, even when we completely changed the order of our 24 person bridal/grooms party.

Aside from her organization and attention to detail, Kenna is just a wonderful person. She was truly invested in our happiness and was willing to go above and beyond to make our day special. She even ended our ceremony with an Albus Dumbledore quote because she knew I love Harry Potter. And as we spoke to guests, friends, and family members, they pointed to Kenna, and her beautiful words, as the most moving part of our big day. We are so grateful!!

Kenna was wonderful! We were so happy to meet with her in the beginning and knew right away she was the one we wanted to marry us. Kenna loves love! Her presence during our rehearsal kept us calm and grounded, and on our wedding day she was our rock. I can't say enough about how wonderful Kenna was to work with. From our first emails to after our wedding day, she has been an absolute joy to work with. Kenna helped us craft the most perfect ceremony (seriously, multiple people told us it was the best ceremony they had ever seen). Kenna takes the time to get to know you and be apart of your wedding. She spent two hours with us at the rehearsal, going through every detail to make sure she had everything down perfect.

Kenna not only officiated our wonderful ceremony, but she also gave us so much help along the way. She sent monthly emails with questions that helped her to get to know us better. She reminded us to apply for our marriage license, and gave us the address of the location closest to our home, and provided us with detailed instructions. After our wedding, she handled submitting our marriage license and even provided us with instructions on how to change my name.

Book Kenna! I cannot say enough great things about her! From our initial meeting I knew she was the perfect officiant for us. Such a beautiful smooth voice of an angel and we got along great! Even though we only got the basic (seriously affordable) package, Kenna made subtle changes to the text to make sure we had the perfect ceremony! Love love love how our ceremony turned out! Kenna is awesome. There is a genuineness to her personality that you just don't come across everyday. She really took the time to get to know my fiance and I; and in turn wrote a beautiful ceremony that spoke to who we are as a couple. You can really tell she loves the work she does and finds great joy in bringing people together. I didn't realize how important the officiant was in setting the tone of your ceremony but Kenna truly made ours perfect; she embodies what a wedding ceremony should be, full of love and joy. Kenna is spectacular! She officiated our small elopement ceremony and it was beautiful! I was most importantly looking for someone who could perform a secular, egalitarian ceremony that was warm and focused on love and her words were perfect and lovely!

Kenna loves... Love. She brings joy & light when she enters a room. Kenna made planning our special day stress free, she spent time getting to know us & what we were looking for in a service and used that info to tailor a service that was perfect for us... Including adding a bit of humor & whimsy. We had a beautiful hand-fasting ceremony and Kenna took the time to explain its origins to our guests. Everyone was a bit testy eyed by the end. Everything was just lovely, all thanks to Kenna. A wedding. It is something that is special. Some people want a lot of Pomp and Circumstance. Then there are some who want the Pomp without the Circumstance. Then there are the special people that want the Circumstance without the Pomp. When it comes to that special day you want the someone whom is officiating to be helpful, and flexible to not only the bride wants, but also to the groom. A wedding is taking two people and joining them. So, the officiant has to be able to take what both people want or would like and make it special. Kenna is and did just that. She provided a professional, joyful, and friendly atmosphere that just made every hiccup seem to melt away. Kenna loves love and you can tell that in her manner and way of bringing a sense of light and joy when she is around.
No marital event is perfect and without its own special issues. No matter who you are, all have their issues and small things that go wrong, yet the officiant has to be able to keep a level head. My Wife and I were 15 to 20 minutes late getting to our wedding! We had nothing set up, yet some of our guests and Kenna and her helpers had already arrived before we did. When they saw us scrambling to get things in order, Kenna and her helpers pitched in even though technically they weren't there for that.
Calm, Cool, Collected, Steady and Joyful are just few of the adjectives I can use to describe Kenna. She was able to find the right balance in the service between serious, historical, and even added a few funny things so it wasn’t too serious. Balance is everything.
Kenna is awesome, period. My wife and I love her and the job she did and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a professional who will tailor that special day to them…. and not the basic narrative.

I am proud to share our experience with Kenna because she made our wedding day perfect. In fact, I feel honored that she participated in our special day. Kenna asked a lot of questions to find out what was important to us to include in our ceremony. Kenna knew that we wanted something unique, casual, and intimate. She wrote the perfect ceremony for us, even including our dog in a beautifully unique way.
My wife and I had the honor of being the first wedding Kenna performed as an officiant. Kenna did a wonderful job at our vow renewal. My husband is not one for public speaking and the amount of speaking he had to do was just perfect. We never had a real wedding until now, Kenna did an amazing job making our day special for us.

kenna is so so great - our ceremony involved planting a tree, which she beautifully worked into our ceremony. we got the script for the ceremony a week beforehand and she made the one (very small) addition that we wanted. it was otherwise absolutely perfect.
she handled all of the paperwork, and got to know us via monthly emailed questions about our relationship. the only thing that i would change is that there was a point where we hadn't heard from her in a while, but it was only because she was doing recovery volunteer work from a hurricane. that's a perfectly fine reason!

Kenna was a joy to work with. She took the time to talk to us and get to know us as a couple. Despite us choosing a basic and simple ceremony, she still took the time to personalize it for us for our wedding day. She drove halfway across the state for our day, but it was well worth it. Her calm and pleasant demeanor helped us stay cool when things got exciting and nerve-racking. She handled the ceremony and all the fun legal stuff with ease. I'm sure if we had chosen to do a longer and more elaborate wedding and ceremony that she would have been even more of a joy to work with. Can't recommend her enough!

Kenna was amazing ! She was very responsive from our first inquiry and the actual vows she recommended were absolutely perfect and I felt like they were written specifically for us !
On the actual day she was very prompt, went with the flow for us as our wedding was a surprise to our guests so she was very flexible as well. She blended in so well with our friends that many assumed she was an invited guest. We had so many compliments on the vows and most importantly the delivery. Kenna has a very special way about her. I have been to many weddings over the years and it thrills me to say that we had the very best !

I cannot imagine our wedding without Kenna. She wrote a beautiful and extremely personal ceremony for us, and offered a lot of options when we were looking to break from tradition in a few places. She ran our rehearsal with ease from evident experience. Her demeanor is calming on a day that can be quite hectic, and she is just such a warm presence to have with the wedding party. We got so many compliments on the secular ceremony, as we have a lot of friends who would be equally uncomfortable with the standard religious ceremonies. We wrote our own vows and she offered very helpful advice on that front. Her words were moving and poetic, but not over the top, and not too long winded. It really was a perfect balance. My only negative was that she can be difficult to reach by email, and I share this with the caveat that I understand we got married during the busy holiday season. That being said, having gone through the final product at this point, I am thrilled with our choice of officiant and there is nothing about our ceremony I would have changed.

We are disconnected enough from established religion that both of us felt strange about hiring a religious officiant to do a secular wedding, so Kenna appealed right out of the gate. Now it's 3 days after the wedding, and we are very happy to have picked her!

Early on, we met to talk about what was important to us in a ceremony, and she came in with questions and ideas about different customs, modern and traditional. that would make it feel not just like *a* wedding, but like *our* wedding. Through all of that, she wasn't pushy, and even did research into some customs she was less familiar with that she thought might work well for us. Finally, she wrote a touching secular ceremony that we even got some compliments about later that day.

We wholeheartedly recommend her.
