Norm McDonald is an absolute gem of a wedding officiant! From our very first conversation, he made us feel completely at ease and truly listened to what we wanted for our ceremony. On the big day, Norm was professional, calm, and incredibly warm. His delivery was perfect — touching, funny, and deeply moving all at once. Our guests were raving about the ceremony afterward. He handled everything seamlessly, from the rehearsal to the vows, and even had a few lighthearted moments that had everyone laughing.

The best!!
Norm officiating our wedding was seriously one of the best decisions we made for our big day. We were hoping for someone with a warm personality and humor to match, and he was all that and then some. From starting our ceremony recreating the wedding scene from “The Princess Bride” (per our request!) to moving everyone with reciting beautiful words and offering his own sentiments on marriage throughout the entire ceremony, making it so very very special. He honestly felt like a close family member marrying us. He truly, and I mean truly, made our entire experience perfect. I cannot recommend him enough! -

Norm was such a wonderful officiant for our southern charm wedding day! Under some semi-stressful circumstances (tornado warning, needing to move entire ceremony up by an hour, no-show coordinator) he remained calm, cool, and collected putting myself and the groom at ease. The length of the ceremony was perfect! Norm has a voice that puts the audience at ease and makes everyone invested in the ceremony. He will also send you options for what you want read at your ceremony so it fits your vibe. He signed all of our paperwork promptly and made sure everything was handled before heading out. With our semi-stressful day, he helped our photographer and the owners of the property to coordinate so everything ran as smoothly as possible. Highly recommend Norm! -

We asked Norm for an unconventional option - to have him sit in and view the ceremony while my cousin performed (since TN won't let just anyone get ordained online). Norm was up for the assignment and even helped my cousin curate the ceremony and walked her through his tips and tricks as officiant. He was incredibly kind and pleasant to work with, we would absolutely recommend him to any couples looking for an officiant! -

We found him via Thumbtack, and my husband and I were lucky enough to conduct our pre-marital counseling with Norm prior to our wedding. Therefore, he got to know us very well so the actual ceremony was personable, fun, enjoyable, and absolutely beautiful. We received many compliments about the ceremony and Norm specifically. Norm was the perfect person to officiate our wedding and calm our nerves. He sent us templates of ceremonies based on the type of wedding ceremony we wanted and helped guide us through what we wanted out of our ceremony. We got rid of the things that didn't make sense for us as a couple and added in things that did. Norm's calming voice kept everyone bound to each word he said. I'll never forget the nerves I had standing at the altar (out of pure happiness and excitement) but the sense of peace I felt as he guided us through our ceremony with poise and care. He stuck to the ceremony and the vibe we wanted, but also had a way of making the script his own without venturing too far. My husband and I were blown away with the care he put into the details by printing his own ceremony (and giving it to us afterward) and making sure we were all on the same page before the ceremony with final thoughts and details. You will not be disappointed hiring Norm as your officiant! We are so honored to have him marry us! -

When our original officiant fell through, just when we thought our entire wedding day would be ruined, Norm stepped up and even offered to drive an hour and a half to our venue! My husband and I found Norm on the website, Thumbtack, and messaged him to ask if he would be able to provide both premarital counseling and officiant services for us. He promptly responded to us in the positive and, once we had decided to use his services, he quickly provided us with details about the materials we would need for counseling. As this was in the midst of the 2020-21 pandemic, he was very flexible and allowed us to do counseling virtually. He worked with us both over Skype and over Zoom video chatting services. We were very happy with his professional but warm and kind demeanor during our counseling sessions, and even more pleased with his officiating on our wedding day. When our wedding ceremony had a few mishaps (such as when our unity candle blew out during our unity candle ceremony and we had to relight it - oops), he saved the day with just a few spontaneous words that lightened the mood and relieved the pressure and dismay we felt. He added to our day so much, and afterward at the reception, everyone commented on what a great job he did and what a nice person he was - including both my parents and my husband's parents. We could not have had such a wonderful start to our marriage without Norm's help. -

Having both of us not been originally from Nashville, one of the biggest things we struggled with when planning our wedding was finding someone to officiate it. We were a little apprehensive booking someone based solely off of online reviews for something that was so important in our lives. From the moment I reached out to Norm, we were immediately put at ease. He touched based with us not even ten minutes after me contacting him and right after the initial phone call, I knew that I no longer needed to continue looking for an officiant. Norm was very flexible with how we wanted the ceremony to look, and from the moment he arrived, he felt like an old friend rather than someone we were just meeting for the first time. He was professional and warm and made our ceremony a breeze. He took the time before the ceremony to chat with us a gave us advice that we all take with us throughout our marriage! We cannot recommend Norm enough! -

Great Experience
We could not have asked for a better officiant! Norm was like an old friend, so friendly and easy to talk to. Also very quick to respond to our inquiry and questions. We had our ceremony at our home on the lake complete with three dogs running around, and Norm took it all in stride! He truly made our most special day even more special and memorable! -

Wonderful man!
Norm was a godsend! I contacted him with basically a week and a half left before my wedding. Due to Covid, all of my plans were trashed! From the start, he was there to save the day. He was very in tune when it came to doing anything special that we wanted, and even though we kept it pretty generic, he managed to make it super special! From holding my bouquet and cracking jokes during the ceremony, to taking awesome pictures afterward, he helped make everything amazing! My husband accidentally left our paperwork in the glove compartment of his car and Norm not only went to get it, he filled it out and left it in the glove compartment along with our program and some of the leaves from the Ginko trees we were married under. 12/10 would recommend him to anyone and everyone! -

Perfect person to have for your day you want to never forget!
Do you want the perfect person to not only officiant your Wedding, but also make everything AS EASY as it can be? Then hire Norm! Norm officiated our Wedding in November 2019; he traveled for us, created a custom ceremony for us that fit our needs and personality. But also helped make the entire rehearsal go smoothly! When you look back at our Wedding pictures from our Ceremony, you can see the love and engagement during the entire ceremony. I am beyond grateful for him and would recommend him to everyone. -

Professional, amazing, calming and charming
Norm was amazing. He has a very calming manner which helps a very nervous couple. He knew when to slow things down to aid my wife and I get through our vows in between the tears..
