Erick was absolutely fantastic at our wedding back in September. He was super easy to work with, has great taste in music, and did a great job at keeping the party going all night long. I can't recommend him enough! -

Erick seriously made my wedding SO much fun!! Music is a very important thing to both myself and my wife, so we naturally had so many concerns when it came to hiring a dj. We worried about our dj not getting our vibe (we both have very specific music tastes and hate the popular songs that are played at weddings, especially the structured group dances) and we also wanted to strike a balance where the music represented our tastes but also were songs that everyone could enjoy. Erick was very good about communicating his style and also gave us many opportunities to let him know what we were going for. From the initial consult to us meeting for a beer to go over details, I felt like Erick really listened and wanted to tailor the night’s soundtrack to our interests. He asked for a playlist from us to get a general sense of what we wanted (this helped tremendously because we both love creating playlists) and he was able to play a lot of songs from the list but also incorporate popular songs people enjoyed that also fit the same mood/feeling! Everything he played flowed together really nicely and he even graciously took requests from folks on the spot. Erick was also great at making announcements, hyping people up, but also was able to feed off of the crowd’s energy. Another thing that stood out to me was that Erick noticed my 10 year old nephew taking an interest in his dj set up and allowed him to co-dj for a bit!! That was really cute and meant a lot to me :)! Do not hesitate to hire Erick- he is a great communicator and knows how to help you deliver a party that everyone will remember! -

Thanks to Erick/My Fellow DJ, I was able to live out my dance floor wedding dreams. We provided him with a playlist of some songs we were thinking and he BLEW US AWAY. Not only was the music outstandingly lit, he was extremely professional, helpful, and had the best vibes all weekend. Couldn't recommend using Erick for your wedding enough - best night of my life thanks to him. -

Best Night Ever!
Erick was amazing! I’ve been to a lot of weddings and he is definitely the best I’ve experienced. Everything went perfectly, from our ceremony music to our intros and reception. Many of our guests even made a point to compliment the background music during cocktail hour and dinner. When it was time to start the party Erick really got it going! It was a non stop party with no lulls! Our wedding had a wide range of personalities and ages and every single person got on the dance floor. We can’t thank Dj El Capone enough! -

Best DJ in VA!
Eric happens to also be my husband's barber, which is how we initially found him. We loved his easy going demeanor and cool style. For such a stressful process, Eric really helps keep you comfortable. He also has a ton of experience working weddings, local events, and DJ's at bars all over Richmond+Va Beach most every weekend.
Eric makes the process very easy and fun, by allowing you to provide him a a playlist of music you generally like. He is not your standard DJ, and keeps the party going continuously by mixing tracks back-to-back. Multiple people who attended our wedding told us this was by far the most fun they'd had partying at a wedding. I had to take a couple breathers myself from constant dancing...All in all, we are so happy we chose Eric, and would recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. -

I've been waiting since 2017 to have Erick as the DJ for my wedding. (Note: I was super single and didn't find my dude until 2019). The moment I got engaged, I made sure to book him ASAP. I mean I was competing to get my vendors before the rescheduled 2020 weddings booked him. I wasn't gonna let him slip through my fingers. He was super easy to work with at the wedding and even during the preparations. Need a DJ? Hit My Fellow DJ, Erick, up. Trust me, he will not fail you. -

Despite having a relatively small wedding, we knew that we wanted a DJ and hiring Erick was hands down the best decision! Erick not only made our reception a better party than we could've imagined, he helped us have the perfect music for our ceremony and did not even bat an eye when I had very specific timing requests for all of our songs. He was the easiest vendor to work with in the entire planning process, which was such a relief when trying to juggle so many different aspects of planning!
We didn’t think our reception would be that much of a party but Erick had every guest out of their seats dancing. He’s an absolute pro and if you are even considering hiring a dj for your wedding or event, you will not regret him. Our only regret is not having a longer reception because we truly did not want the party to end. Such an all around great guy and we will recommend him to everyone we know! -

Erick was super responsive and flexible working with us. A friend had recommended him after attending a couple of weddings he was DJing at. So fortunate to have him emcee and DJ at my wedding. Good vibes and music all through the night. My guests kept telling me how much they enjoyed the DJ & I couldn't agree more! He also was helpful working with us on the uplighting at our venue. 10/10 recommend! -

Erick did an awesome job with the music for our ceremony and for our reception! He listened to the types of music we love to listen to and curated the playlist according to our requested style. We were jamming all night long due to his song picks. Do not hesitate to book with Erick, he is friendly, professional, and is fantastic at what he does! Erick, the owner and DJ for My Fellow DJ, went above and beyond to make the music and atmosphere at our wedding perfect and match our personalities. He has fantastic taste in music-- both what he listens to personally and what he plays at events. He also has the exact personality you’d want from a DJ-- fun, energetic, happy but also cool under pressure and professional. We had some really specific requests, which Erick was happily able to do. We also had very vague requests and didn’t know what we wanted for some things and Erick knew exactly what we needed in those cases. Our setup was really unique and required Erick to move locations a few times and bring multiple PA systems. He moved with ease and there were no interruptions to our event. When we told other DJ’s about relocating throughout the event they were very hesitant or told us it wasn’t possible. Erick accepted the challenge and knocked it out of the park.
Most importantly, everyone had a phenomenal time. We've heard from several guests that they loved the music and had so much fun dancing. I've even received a few "best wedding ever" compliments, which are all attributed to Erick.
Erick was timely, flexible, professional, and just plain fun. He knew how to get every guest on the dance floor -- from 3 years old to 90 years old, Erick played music that made it fun for all ages. I recommend Erick to anyone and everyone!
This fella is the Indiana Jones of DJ’s. Cool guy. Great taste in music. Would absolutely dance to his music again. -

Erick is an awesome DJ; my husband and I were so happy to have him! He was very flexible with our schedules and made sure that he understood exactly what we wanted for the big day. He played the songs that we wanted + chose more songs to satisfy my guests! He did a great job reading the crowd. We were so pleased with his service and friendliness!! -

Erick was great to work with! I'd heard him play at gigs around rva and knew he'd crush it at our wedding, and he exceeded our expectations. We told him we wanted to have a dance-heavy reception for our friends and family, and he definitely delivered. Everyone was raving about the music, and he easily incorporated the songs I had requested for the night. We had one minor mic issue, but because he had a backup handheld mic, crisis was averted. He somehow moved between three different locations at our venue (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) at the speed of light which made the flow of music super smooth. I highly recommend My Fellow DJ! -

The Perfect Choice to Keep Guests Dancing!
We are so glad we found Erick - AKA My Fellow DJ, AKA DJ El Capone - via WeddingWire (& ecstatic that he was available to DJ our wedding)! As a couple, music is extremely important to us, and so we wanted to find a DJ with real musical chops. Erick is just that person! He's a club DJ who is amazing at mixing tracks, but he was glad to play a number of songs we requested without mixing, too. That willingness to be flexible meant the world to us. At one point during dinner, my husband and I looked at each other while Erick was playing a great mix of "Such Great Heights" and then fading into another song, and we gushed about how awesome it was. Throughout dinner and the reception, guests approached both of us to share how happy they were with the DJ (when they needed to take a quick water break from dancing, that is)! The dance floor was full the entire night, which was exactly what we wanted.
Leading up to the big day, Erick spoke with us on the phone and emailed back and forth when we had wedding prep questions. He worked with our budget to give us exactly what we wanted for our celebration. Not only was Erick extremely professional, he was friendly and fun, too! We loved Erick so much that I even connected him with my company to DJ our holiday party (unfortunately for us, he was already booked for that night)! -

We cannot say enough good things about My Fellow DJ and loved having Erick DJ our wedding reception. The entire experience was wonderful. He was extremely professional, attentive, and truly cared that we had the perfect wedding ambiance. He met with us in person to discuss our timeline, we picked out songs together and he also mixed a few songs of his own to make sure our day was super special. He made sure the reception flowed seamlessly and did a flawless job as an MC. Everyone stayed on the dance floor the whole night and left saying "Best DJ ever!!" -

He did a great job of capturing the feel that we wanted during dinner and also getting people out on the dance floor (and kept them dancing all night). He easily took our song requests, but also chose songs on his own that fit the mood: His song selection was perfect. He was very professional and met up with us before hand to get to know what style of music we wanted. He showed up on time and stayed through the whole reception. Several people from the wedding asked who our DJ was and wanted his information for their future events. -
