Mike was an amazing wedding DJ. He made the whole process so smooth and even gave us suggestions to make the ceremony and reception flow smoothly. We LOVED his DJ booth with the custom screen! It was such a nice added touch to the space! We are so lucky he was part of our wedding day! Highly recommend Mike!

Mike was the greatest to work with!! He was recommended by our venue and every vendor we spoke to also highly recommended him. From our first call to the very end of the wedding night he was there for anything we needed. He was very attentive to detail and made sure all of our needs were taken care of. Highly recommend!

Mike was one of the vendors who felt most on top of things when it came to the wedding planning. Very communicative and made sure he understood the ceremony/reception structure and what songs we wanted where. During the reception, there was a point in the night where I was worried we were going to have a barren dance floor for the rest of the night, but Mike turned things around and had people on the dance floor all night long. and the uplighting was amazing! Very subtle for dinner, but went wild during the dancing. An absolute recommend from me!

Highly recommend Must Be the Music DJs. Our experience was easy and enjoyable from beginning to end. Mike was super fun and very easy to talk to. He helped us incorporate special moments just the way we wanted. Everyone was on the dance floor all night long! He communicated effectively behind the scenes with our officiant, photographer/videographer, as well as day of coordinator to ensure that the day/night was perfect for us. Mike did an absolutely incredible job with our wedding! He has such great energy that it will bring any wedding to life. When selecting a DJ numerous things stood out that made us choose MustBetheMusicDJs. First being the level of reassurance that Mike provided to us with the multiple microphones and backup microphones that were utilized during our ceremony leaving no room for error. Second was his knowledge of acoustics and how they would be effected within our venue. Third was his attention to detail within appearances, whether it be the fancy imported speakers, the mood setting uplighting, or Mike dressing to blend in with the rest of the wedding party, he really has thought of it all!

All of our wants and requests were played, his song choices were phenomenal and everyone said they had the best time on the dance floor. From our initial email/meeting until after our wedding Mike from Must Be the Music DJs was more than fantastic! He was always timely and responsive to all our emails, texts and calls. He was professional and personal all at the same time. He understood our vision for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception from the very beginning while also giving us his professional opinion because there is so much more than just "playing music" to being a DJ at a wedding. Mike knows exactly how to execute a wedding - from microphone set up, to up lighting and getting everyone out on the dance floor. - he did it all! The entire day was exactly as we had wanted. Our guests are still complimenting Mike 3 months after our wedding. Mike 1000% hit it out of the ballpark! We truly cannot recommend him enough!!!

Best DJ Ever!
We had our wedding at Deerfield in Newark, DE, and met Mike at an open house there over a year prior to our wedding. After hearing from 2 different vendors that we had to check out the DJ in the corner, we decided to see what the hype was all about. Instantly, we knew Mike was going to be our DJ. As we stood there, he answered all of our questions about music that we had written down. Then then continued to answer questions we didn't even know we should have asked! Throughout the entire planning process (a year and a half for us), Mike reached out to us several times to check in and see if there was anything he could help with. When it came to the final plans, Mike was extremely thorough and ensured we had the exact music we wanted, even down to a shortened version of our first dance (we didn't want to be on the dance floor for any longer than we had to). He had fantastic suggestions for songs my husband and I couldn't agree on, and provided us expert advice on our venue and the layout of the day's events. The entire night he had people up on the dance floor, and ended our night with our favorite song. All of our expectations were surpassed and we couldn't have asked for a more amazing time thanks to him!

Mike Simmons is a fantastic DJ, professional, responsive, and all around on top of EVERYTHING. He thinks of things before they happen and it prepared from the moment you first speak with him. Wedding DJ Perfection
My husband and I chose Mike to DJ our belated wedding reception earlier this October. He walked me through the whole process and was an absolute professional in making sure the day went smoothly. I think the highest recommendation I can say is that whenever I mentioned we had booked Mike to the coordinators at our venue, every single one immediately went, "Mike is the BEST," completely unprompted. ike is the best! From the day we met him to the day of our wedding he was basically a second event coordinator for us. He was always checking in and making sure planning was going smoothly. The month leading into our wedding he was on the ball and had us fill out a planning sheet for all of our music which was just so helpful 1. to see what things we needed songs for and 2. to keep me organized. The event itself was amazing. Played all the songs we asked him too and did a good job filtering in the classic hits/ other songs of the genres we liked. LOVE mike and would 10/10 recommend.

Mike Simmons . . . . . the best! I knew he was the man for the job after his first email. Super down to earth and great personality — two traits you definitely need in a DJ. Flexible to say the least — made time to chat with us on his road trip with family. Incredible DJ — The dance floor literally was NOT big enough for everyone (never seen that honestly). All around great human, you won’t regret your choice booking with him.

We were so happy we went with Mike Simmons! He helped guide us before the wedding and played a crucial role during it. By working with event staff he knew when and where we needed to be throughout the night. The music he played was exactly what we asked for and even came up with songs that blended right into our celebration. He kept our guests in party mode the entire time. From the very beginning, Mike was fantastic to work with. He is very down to earth and easy to talk to. He put us at ease from the start, asking all the right questions. We really appreciated how detail oriented he was. Mike truly saved the day on our wedding -- we had to wait until a few hours before our ceremony to decide whether or not we'd be outside (thanks, hurricane Ian!), and Mike was the MOST flexible and supportive. He made sure the dance floor was bumping all night. If you are looking for a solid DJ, Mike is your man!

We were deciding between several different vendors, and couldn't really decide who to go with, until we had a video meeting with Mike and we were 100% on board with him. And then during the wedding, he proved to be the most valuable person, keeping everything about the wedding on track and energetic. Mike was the absolute best from the start. We had been recommended Mike from some friends and my parents photography studio. We initially chose a wedding date of 9/17/22, but Mike wasn’t available so we moved the wedding date up to 9/10/22. Boy are we glad we did. He made the process feel very simple, and gave us some great ideas for the timeline and wedding songs.
The wedding was seamless. Mike had backup plans just in case which made us feel secure. At the actual ceremony and reception we felt like we didn’t have to do anything and it was amazing. We had full trust in him and he delivered. The music was outstanding. The whole wedding was dancing all the way to the end, and almost half of the wedding even came to our after party because they were so pumped up from the music. The wedding DJ can definitely make or break your big day, and DJ Mike definitely helped make this the best day of our lives. The day you get engaged, make sure you enjoy it. The very next day, make sure you book DJ Mike.

What an amazing experience we had working with Mike for our September, 2022 wedding! We knew from our first phone call that he was going to be the one to execute an AMAZING event! He is super personable, extremely knowledgable on music and lighting technology and made our wedding night so much fun! He stays on top of communication with his couples, and was always the one reaching out to us leading up to the big day to finalize details!
