Chris was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, he was professional, organized, and a pleasure to work with. He met with us several times before the wedding to make sure every detail was covered, which gave us so much confidence that everything would run smoothly. On the wedding day, Chris was an outstanding DJ and MC. He kept the entire event flowing seamlessly, and his announcements were polished and perfectly timed. Most importantly, he really listened to what we wanted and absolutely nailed the vibe. The music was exactly what we had envisioned, and our dance floor was packed all night. We had so many guests tell us it was one of the most fun weddings they'd ever been to, and everyone was raving about the music. We also hired Chris for ceiling and patio lighting, as well as a ceiling drape, and everything looked beautiful. The lighting completely transformed the space and made our venue feel even more magical. Chris was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
While he provided incredible music and stunning lighting, he did so much more than just DJ our reception. Chris additionally supported us through the planning process. He helped us outline our timeline, ensured everything flowed seamlessly, and even led our wedding rehearsal — which gave us so much peace of mind going into the big day.
The lighting installations were absolutely perfect and completely transformed the atmosphere throughout the evening. From soft, romantic lighting during our first dance and dinner to high-energy party lighting that kicked off the reception, every transition felt intentional and beautifully executed.
Chris also went above and beyond by editing our selected songs to the perfect length for our first dance, as well as our father-daughter and mother-son dances. Those moments felt seamless and so thoughtfully prepared.
During the reception, he incorporated so many of our favorite songs, kept the energy high, and made sure there was never a dull moment on the dance floor. We received many compliments from our guests about how amazing the music was! He was also fantastic at reading the room — graciously taking guest requests and knowing which ones would elevate the vibe and which to gently pass on to keep the momentum going.

It’s been a while…
My husband and I got married 16 years ago and we used Chris. He was amazing then and I have continued to follow and recommend his since. He was attentive to what we wanted and also listened to what we didn’t want. We had the absolute pleasure of working with DJ Chris for our wedding and we cannot recommend him highly enough. Chris was absolutely fantastic for us during the wedding planning in the months leading up to the big day and again during the celebration. He asked thoughtful questions during the prep phase and followed through on every tiny detail during the wedding ceremony and reception. He arrived early to set everything up, and he was a wonderful master of ceremonies throughout the day. The music was never too loud or too quiet for each part of the day, and once the reception and dancing began, he kept the energy high and kept people on the dance floor. Wow, wow, wow....DJ Chris is amazing!!! We used him for our wedding of approx. 170 guests in the berkshires. We were highly impressed with DJ Chris after our first video call with him where we learned that he was much more than just a DJ. He takes on the role of MC/coordinator for the entire event, ensuring the timeline of events is exactly as you picture and assists in making sure things flow seamlessly including communicating between vendors if needed. He is extremely professional, while also being very chill and easy to bounce ideas off of in order to reach your perfect vision for the evening. He completely customizes his music to each individual's interests, and does a great job in asking about details that I did not even think of. I would highly recommend DJ Chris!

The whole perfect-DJ package :)
Chris DJ'ed and provided lights/drapery for my partner's and my commitment ceremony on 8/24/24. From the very first intro phone call, Chris was awesome. So kind, clear in his communication, and passionate about helping us get the experience we wanted. We were planning a few unconventional things, and he was excited about helping us make it all happen. Music/Dancing was a big deal for me when planning, and he took the time to understand me, my partner, and our guests. On the day of our party, he was the perfect professional, and (again) so kind. Several guests (and our photographer) went out of their way to find me and comment on how good he was in some way—how well mic'ed the ceremony was, how fun the dancing was all night, how creative the cocktail music was, and how cool some of his special touches were. One guest asked me for his contact info, for her friend's upcoming wedding. With his help with perfect music and beautiful ambiance, Chris was an essential piece in making the atmosphere perfect from start to finish. DJ Chris Plankey helped make our wedding day the most magical day of our life. He accommodated every last detail I wished for, and went out of his way to help me bring to life a vision I had in my head to create a voiceover recording to play to my husband before I walked down the aisle.
Chris ran our rehearsal flawlessly, and everyone in my party knew exactly where to be and when to be there thanks to his help!

There aren’t enough words to describe how incredible an experience we shared with Chris. He was by far on top of his game from the first day I contacted him. Super responsive, and very accommodative as well. Chris is very detail oriented and makes the wedding planning seamless and stress free!
During the wedding we had a pretty steady unrelenting rain. And he went above and beyond to make sure our guests were comfortable.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We didn’t hire a wedding planner and took on most of it ourselves. I had been to a wedding where Chris was the DJ and it was a blast so when we started planning he was our first call. When we had our initial meeting with Chris, we were instantly impressed with how he conducted himself and how he explained everything he had to offer. We booked him immediately. Since then he was constantly in contact not only with us, but he also communicated with other vendors like the caterer, venue and photographer. He met us at our venue a month or so before but he also coordinated the rehearsal and walked us through every step of the wedding day. Everyone involved felt extremely comfortable with their roles for our big day and my now wife and I didn’t worry at all that everything would happen smoothly. We were very impressed with the website Chris used to get to know us and to better understand the vibe we wanted at our wedding. Our wedding was almost two weeks ago now and everyone I talk to that was in attendance has commented on how much fun they had and how impressed they were with Chris. The dance floor was absolutely packed from the first dance song he played right up until the end. Don’t think twice and book Chris for your next event, worth every single penny. A couple of things Chris coordinated that we highly recommend was the anniversary dance and the photo dash.

The complete package
Chris did our lighting, provided DJ services as well as master of ceremony services. It became very obvious early on that he is a master of his craft from start to finish from all of the planning aspects to the actual execution on the day of nothing would’ve turned out the way it did without his help! He helped us picking out lighting options and pulled it off wonderfully, he provided audio support for the ceremony itself and provided a very professional looking presentation to the whole thing, he provided audio cues to make sure the ceremony and reception ran smoothly, and at the actual DJ booth he worked with us to make sure the dance floor was busy and vibes were at their happiest the whole night! 12/10 could not recommend more

Chris provided both our DJ and lighting services for our wedding and I cannot begin to explain how great he was! He was so incredibly detailed in his planning and collaboration with us prior to our wedding. He helped tremendously with our whole wedding day process and we cannot thank him enough for how smooth and perfect the whole day was! In addition, the dance floor was packed the entire night!
Chris also went above and beyond in many ways for us which we are extremely grateful! For example, we requested a song to be played by a particular artist for our late grandmother. Chris did an unbelievable job. My wife and I ended up selecting all vendors that cared and put in the same amount of effort that her and I put into our relationship. Chris was no different. Personally I think I’m a music lover Chris showed the same passion and interest from our first phone call to our last before our wedding day. We talked as a couple with Chris as scheduled and he and I 1:1 a number of times through the process. Having gone through the process during COVID and shortly after Chris made the process personable and painless. The process was simple and easy to follow. His questionnaire followed the ceremony/reception almost exactly and made my wife feel at ease during the day.
Chris met us the day prior to our wedding at our venue and got the ball rolling for our justice of peace who had no experience. He made the JP, our family and my wife and I at ease about our wedding. Then it was time. Your DJ can essentially run the schedule for the night with a microphone and Chris goes above and beyond to meet your needs. Would recommend him to anyone in the area and anywhere he’s willing to travel.

Working with Chris was one of the best decisions my wife and I made! Similar to what other reviews have mentioned, he is more than just an incredible DJ. As soon as we hired him, he provided us with all kinds of planning resources and worksheets to ensure that he could deliver everything we could possibly want on our wedding day. And whether it was to clarify the pronunciation of someone's name, confirm the order of the day's events, or make sure that a song clip was edited to our liking, he communicated with us regularly to make sure every detail was in place. He also worked directly with our venue's event coordinator to ensure that everything went smoothly throughout the evening!
Although our wedding was two months ago, it's worth noting that we STILL have guests raving about Chris' organization, energy, and music selection. He had songs for everyone there, which kept our dance floor completely full all night long.

DJ Chris came HIGHLY recommended by our wedding coordinator (SomethingPrettyEventsCo) and man, did he DELIVER. All of his meticulous planning prior to the wedding led him to curate an amazing audio experience for our guests that really felt like it was "us" while also being very fun for all of our guests of all ages/generations/musical tastes. He also offers many additional services and we took advantage of the light package DJ Chris offers. Our venue space had the perfect ambiance for the night with the lighting. Our guests have not stopped talking about DJ Chris and his ability to open the dance floor and keep it going all night. In fact, the closest thing to a complaint we heard was that one guest "couldn't go to the bathroom because the DJ was playing banger after banger." Not only was the reception dance floor the place to be, DJ Chris also expertly navigated us through our ceremony music, allowing us to customize the experience how we wanted. He also provided music for cocktail hour and it all went off without a hitch. We seriously couldn't have asked for a better experience with DJ Chris, and would choose him over and over if we could. Wonderful Wedding DJ
DJ Chris was absolutely wonderful to work with! He so clearly loves working on weddings, helping us craft an event that was fun for all of our guests, regardless of age, but also felt like us and felt very personal. Amazing experience from start through our wedding day w great music and beautiful lighting!
We had an amazing experience with Chris! He was extremely professional and great to work with. I was planning my own wedding and he was also very helpful with advice and info that had obviously come from many years of experience, so I knew I could trust him. He also came on Friday and was a huge help with rehearsal, and had everything in the tent setup ahead of time so I never stressed about his work getting done. We are also immensely appreciative of how much effort he put into making our day exactly what we wanted. I have epilepsy and am sensitive to LED lighting, so Chris offered to change each bulb to accommodate that so we could still have the gorgeous perimeter and overhead lighting we were looking for! We also still have guests saying how much they enjoyed his music, as we did! Chris was truly a pleasure to work with, and highly recommend!

DJ Chris came highly recommended and even so, still blew us away. He really ran the show for us the entire afternoon and evening from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, and the reception. He was incredibly profession and fun to work with. When it came time to dance he packed the floor song 1 and the dance floor only grew over the course of the evening. He is masterful at reading a crowd and playing the right songs to keep the dance floor full all night. DJ Chris also had great ideas for how to make calling our buffet more fun and was more than accommodating for all our different song requests.

Chris was amazing for our wedding in August! From the start, he was super responsive, always responded quickly by either phone call or email. He was extremely thorough with multiple worksheets to fill out to help you get organized. I am not a planner by nature and was feeling a little lost through the wedding process. The forms Chris provided laid out all of your options, the order that you want everything, which songs for the Ceremony, Dinner, Dancing, etc as well as lighting and drapery options. We had multiple conversations to go over everything in the few months prior to the event.
At the rehearsal and wedding, he acted as a coordinator. He worked with the officiant to get everyone in place and made sure we knew what we were doing and when throughout the day. He worked with our photographer for a “photo dash” before dinner so we were sure to get some pictures with every table. The music was great and everyone was dancing all night!
The lights, fabric drapery and music was all amazing. We had a great day and couldn’t have done it as smoothly without DJ Chris!

Highly recommend Chris for Wedding DJ, MC, and Lights
Chris acted as our DJ, MC, and did all of the lights (indoors and outdoors under our tent) at our October wedding in Great Barrington, MA. Chris is a professional through and through. Extremely detail oriented, organized, responsive, and respectful. He works hard to understand the couple, learn about their wants and needs, and make sure the family/guests are happy and having fun. He also was excellent during the rehearsal dinner/during the wedding day in terms of keeping our guests to our plan, and did it in a thoughtful, respectful way. The lights he did looked fantastic, and he was very flexible in terms of when he would come and install them (even when the tent company was a bit behind schedule and Chris had to install the lights under the tent in the dark). He does an excellent job learning about the couple's music tastes, but also helping guide them toward a playlist for cocktail hour and reception that makes sense and will keep the party going. Can't recommend him enough.

Wow, what can we say that hasn’t been said before about Chris. With everything my wife and I had going on during all of the planning leading up to the wedding, Chris was a true leader among everyone. He was extremely professional, always organized and on top of every detail, and helped us with decisions that we both loved in the end. Chris went out of his way during our rehearsal, and graciously helped direct and make suggestions when needed…and it was needed! We literally cannot say enough good things about Chris Plankey. I initially hired him because of the detailed set up description he had on his website for our specific venue. He knew already how many speakers, best set up, how to make sure it looked good in photos, etc. From the first call we had such a good feeling. Chris is so detailed oriented. He helps set the entire schedule to make sure the day runs smoothly and even contacts other vendors so that everyone is on the same page. He makes sure that he only plays music you want to hear and knows exactly how to keep the dance floor flowing all night. Many people told us the music was the best they ever heard at any wedding. We had an incredible experience working with Chris for our June 2021 wedding! We planned our wedding from out of state and had our meetings on zoom. When choosing a DJ we knew we wanted someone who would bring life to our wedding that was fun, professional, reliable, experienced and personable. We got all that and so much more with Chris. If you are looking for a DJ where you get bang for your buck, then look no further. When I first sat down with Chris I was impressed by how organized and well informed he is when it comes to weddings. Once we left our first meeting I knew deep in my heart I would be in great hands if I hired him. His packet of questions to know actually helped me with my planning process. He asked me questions that made me realize that even me, the over thinker, completely missed a few things (I opted out of hiring a wedding planner). What I loved most about Chris is that anytime I had a question he was right there and quick to respond. He was always reassuring and is a man with a plan. When navigating through COVID, Chris never made me feel pressured to make a decision on what to do, rather, he listened and gave me his best advice he had and left the ball in my court. Great experience as a DJ and lighting service
My fiancée and I worked with Chris for a short time to plan our wedding for 8/2021. Chris was detail oriented, friendly and very responsive. We signed a contract and planned to use him for both DJ and lighting services. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused us to look at our future plans, and we ultimately decided to cancel the type of wedding we planned and go with a “just immediate family” event. When I emailed Chris I knew he would understand, and he absolutely did. He also offered a partial refund from our “non-refundable” deposit, something he did not have to do and was completely unexpected. If you’re looking for an honest, detail oriented person who is caring only for what you’re looking for, look no further, because Chris is your guy.

I cannot rave enough about Chris!! We hired him for our wedding and not only did he play spot on perfect music for our crowd but he coordinated our whole event!! We couldn’t have done it without him! He also did lightning for us that was beautiful! In addition he was the most professional person to work with and extremely accommodating! HIGHLY recommended!

Chris was professional and extremely detailed in helping us plan our wedding reception. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night and did an excellent job at MC-ing our reception. Dj chris was amazing!
We had the best experience working with DJ Chris! His response to detail, attention and flow was spot on. We had an extremely big wedding party and DJ Chris did awesome working with everyone to keep everyone moving from one thing to another. He had the entire crowd dancing all night and wishing they could have stayed for more! He made sure that everything we asked for was done and was so great at keeping us up to date with everything throughout the night. We would highly recommend DJ Chris to everyone and anyone looking for a event DJ

We planned our wedding based on Chris Plankeys lighting services and then when I found out Chris was booked on the day of my wedding I was devastated. Chris was very accommodating and assured me he would do whatever he had to do to make sure lighting and drapery was done for my wedding. Chris was able to provide his services on the Thursday before the wedding which I cannot thank Chris enough for going out of his way to make sure my vision was complete and not only did he accommodate us....his work was absolutely stunning and perfect and he worked so well with our venue vendor! Miracle Worker!
Chris Plankey did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding. His superseded our expectations!! He helped me so much to coordinate between the JOP and the caterer. He was there for our rehearsal and put so much effort into making sure that everyone fully understood what their job was the next day. He took a lot of stress away from me! On the wedding day, the music made it seem like it was all a fairy tale. Walking down the aisle and hearing the music play softly in the back ground made me feel like I was floating on a cloud. Walking into our reception and hearing the songs that we picked out for our entrance play exactly how we asked was beyond perfect! The cocktail music was so great that our guests were even up dancing during this time as well. As soon as all of our traditional wedding events took place, my shoes came off and we all started to dance the night away. I would recommend Chris for every single wedding near and far. You will not be disappointed by anything and he will make all of your visions become a reality. P.S. The compatibility quiz game show that he does at the wedding was so much fun and brought both sides of the family together with laughter and broke the ice. Chris is a miracle worker!!!

Amazing Vendor!
Hiring Chris as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions we made! From the initial meeting with him, we could tell he was amazing at what he does...and he does so much! We were very impressed with his ability to not only DJ our wedding, but to also plan the timeline and organize the rehearsal and our wedding day. With his help, our entire wedding day went perfectly! I don't write reviews; it's just not something I typically do. However, I would be remiss if I didn't recognize Chris as what I can only describe as the finest DJ in Western Mass, (and beyond), bar none. My wife and I had been to weddings before ours and knew the things that we had wanted out of a DJ. We came to Chris with high expectations, and Chris blew them away. Not only did we get an immensely talented DJ, but we also got a true Master of Ceremonies- one who drove the reception and earned rave reviews from our guests. DJ Chris was wonderful to work with and made sure our wedding ran perfectly. Chris is kind, talented, knowledgeable and a true professional. Our wedding day required movement of 250 guests from location to location on the property of the venue for the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and then dancing. Chris coordinated and executed this movement flawlessly. Chris made sure that our day ran as smoothly as it possibly could have and kept our guests dancing and enjoying until the very end! I never would have imagined that a DJ/MC would have gone above and beyond in his services to the extent that Chris did for our wedding. Not only was he an amazing DJ and made it incredibly fun, exciting and entertaining to be there, but one of the most significant things he did was help facilitate the entire wedding. Making sure the flow of it was correct, ensuring people were where they needed to be, organizing the ceremony rehearsal (for which he didn't HAVE to do since we had live musicians, but did anyway since he provided the mics for it). He was extremely accommodating in meeting with us several times to go over questions, give us ideas, help us with music choices and go over other important details for our wedding. There are countless details that Chris brought to our attention that we would have likely never thought of had it not been for his expertise. His knowledge and skill in making sure the music was exactly what we wanted and ability to carry out all of the reception details was phenomenal. Chris created the entire schedule from start to finish of the whole wedding which was essential in understanding how things would go ahead of time. Oh!!! And our lighting!!! Chris provided bistro string lighting in the ballroom and on the outside deck and did a fabulous job!!! He was able to pick up on exactly the look I was going for and executed it perfectly. He kept everyone dancing, and even made it a point to include our different cultural traditions of the Hora and Dabke dances which everyone loved! To top it off, he facilitated our sparkler exit at the end of the night by organizing everyone and having it go smoothly. We loved having Chris be a part of our wedding and would definitely recommend him to anyone! Thank you Chris!

The best DJ we could've chosen!
We can’t say enough good words about Chris. Since the time we met with him, we told him our vision for our wedding day and he completely delivered. He set up for a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour without any technical difficulties. The extra uplighting he provided completely upgraded the look of our room where we had dinner. He ran us through a “photo dash” from table to table which my guests loved and had a lot of fun with. He held a constant presence where he could hold attention and control the crowd without being overbearing. And most importantly, we had the best dance party! He stuck to our must play and do not play list to a tee, threw in some fun Latin music for my husband’s family and stayed for an additional hour to keep the party going. Thank you Chris for helping to make our day so perfect!!

Chris is TOP NOTCH!!! His professionalism is second to NONE. The constant contact with us leading up to the wedding day was superb. As the mother of the bride I was panicking on many levels about many different things and he put my mind at ease relating to what I was uneasy about!! Everyone there raved about his services. Blown away by quality service
Chris is truly the best in the area. I knew from our first meeting that he was going to be professional, organized, and friendly to work with. Not only did he meet my expectations, but he blew them out of the water. I don't understand how he can be so attentive, timely, and devoted to each event he works when he is clearly a busy man, but he does it somehow. He produced our ceremony & reception timeline and I actually breathed a sigh of relief when I received it. You're probably planning a wedding if you're reading this, so you know how stressful those details can be. He will take your stress away. He even attended our rehearsal to make sure it ran smoothly. Not only this, but the lighting he provided for us was amazing and he kept the dancefloor packed until the last song. A master of his craft and the best in the Berkshires, hands down.

Awesome DJ
We had a great experience with Chris as our DJ. His planning helped us throughout the day. It started with the ceremony music/vows mic, led to grand entrances, dancing, and even the cake cutting and bouquet toss. His questionnaire for planning let us customize so much about the wedding that I hadn't even thought about before, leading us to pick songs for the aforementioned events. Our guests were on the dance floor from the first song to the last and there was never a dull moment. He even played some of our guest song requests that we took note of from their RSVPs. I highly recommend hiring Chris as your DJ.

We worked with Chris for our October 2018 wedding. He was professional and organized from our first meeting. We later filled out a survey about our wedding details and music preferences. He helped us personalized our song choices and even made song edits for our first dances, as well as our monogram spotlight and uplighting to transform our event space. What was very apparent was how much Chris CARED about out wedding, he was quick to respond to emails, and helped us develop a detailed order of events for the actual event to keep everything running smoothly. We used Chris for the lighting for our wedding and could not have been happier. From the moment we contracted him, he was professional, helpful and efficient. He handled setting up a time to meet or coordinator at our venue to get an accurate quote for us all on his own, got us a quote right away, and set up the lights perfectly and better than I even envisioned. From start to finish, Chris exceeded all expectations in helping create the perfect wedding. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We had our first meeting about 10 months before our wedding and continued to communicated through email and in person up until our wedding day. Chris took a chance with us at an up and coming venue that was new to all of us. Not only did he DJ for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, he set up an enormous amount of pipe-and-drape to create more intimate spaces, he hung beautiful string lighting down our ceremony aisle, and he coordinated all vendors and kept us on track. 5 stars are no way near enough stars to rate Chris! From the moment my husband and I met Chris, we knew he was the d.j. for our wedding. He had a face-to-face meeting at our choice of meeting places. He didn't sell himself like a commercial, he shook our hands and said,"Hi I'm Chris, what are you looking for in a d.j., and what can I do for you?"
Chris kept in contact every step of the way through emails, and helped us plan our day. The night before our wedding, he came to our rehearsal and helped us with a walk through of the wedding, so everyone in our wedding party knew exactly what to expect on the wedding day. Thanks to this, he made our wedding go smoothly.
At the reception, Chris took a mixed crowd aged 5-80, (who traveled from various states and where the bulk were from N.Y.C) and literally had them dancing their shoes off! Chris had a FANTASTIC playlist of songs, made sure to include OUR SONG CHOICES, and the dance floor was busy ALL NIGHT LONG!
Trust me when I say, if you dont have a good d.j., your day can be a fail in the end. Chris is a GREAT d.j.!
So, if you are looking for a d.j. that is PROFESSIONAL, ORGANIZED, COURTEOUS, HAS GREAT PRICES, and LISTENS TO WHAT YOU WANT, then Chris Plankey is your d.j.!!!!

I had no idea how much thought and creative design went into even a "simple" string lighting setup for a tent, but Chris went above and beyond in designing something *beautiful* that fit needs I didn't even know we had, transparently keeping us up-to-date every step along the way, driving to our site ahead of time to check out the space and get a vision, arriving several days early to set it up and staying throughout the wedding to make sure everything went to plan and then take it down, all while being an incredibly prompt and polite vendor, and being at or below the rate of all the other lighting specialists we contacted. Our on-site coordinator also said that the lighting was incredible compared to others she'd seen. Cannot say enough positive things!! Thank you Chris!!

I can't say enough great words about Chris's DJ and lighting services! He made the process super easy, he was very accommodating with our music requests, and best of all - he was able to gauge the mood of the crowd during the wedding and play music accordingly. He made transitions between music and wedding activities seamless, the lighting was amazing, and his photo dash idea was a hit! Highly recommended!

Chris did an amazing job DJing and so much more at our event ! His knowledge in music , event time management, his high level of professionalism , his guest interaction , made my job as a hostess so much easier. I would highly recommend Chris for any type of event . His experience is priceless!
