Unique, beautiful venue!
We had so much fun working with April and her team! April had so many great ideas and really helped bring our wedding vision to life and make our day better than we could have imagined! She was very flexible when COVID changed our original plans and is such a warm, caring person. We loved picking out artwork for our wedding and being able to customize based on our theme. There are also closets full of candles, vases, and other decorations that really helped pull everything together. We also rented our linens from April (she has every color you could possibly imagine!) and some beautiful dinnerware to match our colors. Our guests really enjoyed the venue and we got many compliments on how unique and beautiful it was! We definitely recommend choosing Mulberry Arts Studio for any event you’re planning! -

My daughter was married at Mulberry Art Studio two weeks ago. We had the best experience, and my daughter and husband said it was one of the best days of their lives. April and staff were so helpful, and helped create a wonderful day. As the mother of the bride, I could relax and just have fun! I recommend this venue to anyone. It was a very unique, and beautiful day! -

Working with April, Heather and the staff at Mulberry Art Studios was a true pleasure. They are so kind, upbeat and diligent. They really made wedding planning less stressful. April put my mind at ease by laying out a clear vision for the design of the ceremony/reception in the Mulberry Room, that I felt confident it would look great. April gets to know your personality and is really attentive to detail- she seriously knows what she's doing! You can honestly throw out any idea or theme for your event or wedding and she and her staff will pull it off and make it look spectacular. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful! Mulberry is awesome! You're guaranteed to have a unique wedding at this venue. All of our guests raved about how gorgeous, fun and different the venue was. A perk of this venue is you hardly have to buy or rent any decorations. They have a huge room of beautiful linens, glassware, baskets, vases- almost anything you could think of. Another bonus- it's very affordable. They also respond very quickly to email and phone calls! It's safe to say my Husband, family and myself loved working with Mulberry. They definitely gave us the magical wedding day I've dreamed of. -

The Mulberry Art Studios is such a beautiful location. Little to no added decorations is necessary. I love the fact that you are able to choose the artwork that is displayed during your event. April and her staff are very attentive and do everything they can to make sure that you have everything you need and that your wedding runs as smoothly as possible. I would definitely recommend this venue! It's simply gorgeous! -

My then-fiance and I visited a couple of popular wedding venues in the Lancaster area before we came to Mulberry. Whereas everyone else told us what we could NOT do, Mulberry was open and accommodating and provided us with a ton of ideas and suggestions, even only in our first meeting. And when I first walked into the Mulberry room, I had goosebumps right away. It was so charming and romantic and almost ethereal in the way it's decorated. April not only is one of the nicest people to work with but she pays attention to details and has an eye for the arts and colors, which absolutely comes into play when helping you choose your linens and artwork you want displayed. Yes, Mulberry allows you to choose your own artwork for the day! They have a huge collection of paintings and works that add such an elegant and personal backdrop to your event... and all your photos! They have closets-full of vases, flowers, beads, etc. that you can use for your centerpieces and decorations. This was great for us because we didn't want to pay for these disposable items that we would never use again so keep this in mind as you're planning your event. My husband and I couldn't be happier with Mulberry and April and would whole-heartedly recommend this as your ceremony and reception venue. -

We recently had our wedding at Mulberry Art Studios, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we went to visit MAS, we knew it was the venue for us. April and her entire team at MAS worked with us every step of the way to ensure the design and layout of everything was what we wanted and that our big day ran smoothly. They also have a wide variety of art work, decorations, centerpieces, etc right there for you to choose from, which was very helpful and alleviated having to go elsewhere to buy or rent things. I would highly recommend Mulberry Art Studios to anyone! -

We approached Mulberry Art Studios within 5 months of our wedding date, and we were absolutely blown away with their service. April, Linda, and the entire staff did everything they could to make sure our day was perfect. They were a delight to work with, and the venue has so much to offer! It's a beautiful venue, and they allow access to so many of their decorations/centerpieces, that very little was required of us in terms of decorating the place ourselves. They also provided a very personal touch; from making sure their lobby colors matched our wedding colors, to providing my husband and I with an AMAZING team of workers that met our every need.
We would highly recommend this venue to anyone, and we would definitely utilize their services again in the future! -

We recently had our wedding reception at Mulberry Art Studios on August 16, 2014. We had an approximately 200 guests at our reception. April is an amazing person to work with! Her and her fabulous team did an outstanding job with the set up and tear down of the reception. April was able to be reached at any time we needed to speak with her about our planning. She was very accommodating and made sure we had a great time! We used all three locations in Mulberry Art Studios for cocktail hour, dinner & dancing. All of our guests enjoyed themselves and could not stop raving about the venue! -

I used this venue for our son's Bar Mitzvah party and could not be more thrilled with the outcome. I had a tiny seed of an idea that I wasn't even sure would work and April made it happen with breathtaking results. The venue itself is full of character so you really don't even need much in the way of overall decorations. There are multiple rooms both big and small so there's a lot of flexibilty in terms of getting spaces to meet your needs. April and her whole staff made me feel like my event was the only event and she always made time for me. She had so many ideas and such a creative touch that there was no need for me to hire a separate party planner. I was able to get my linens through her which saved money, time and aggravation. She has a large stash of vases, easels, table number holders.... available for general use and she was even kind enough to lend me some of her own personal belongings because she felt they added to the overall look I was trying to achieve. One of my friends had prepared a special presentation but realized that she had left her props in Columbus, OH. April immediately worked with us to try to pull together things she could use. I also had vendors coming from New York with large attractions and April coordinated well with them both before and during my event. The entire staff went out of their way to accomodate me and make my event special. There's also plenty of parking for guests. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with MAS. -

Wow what can I say except for mulberry is amazing. The staff became part of our family. Can't wait to go back and visit. Theydid everything we asked and much much more. April Jessica Paul everyone is so awesome. It looked so perfect and I feel fortunate to have worked with them. Thank you and love you guys. I got married here in May and absolutely loved it. I had an intimate wedding (sixty guests) in the two downstairs rooms with a cocktail hour, ceremony, and dinner.
First of all the venue is beautiful. Dark wood floors, high ceilings, and I got to pick the art on the walls from the in house collection. We took our photos outside the center and they turned out really nice.
Second, it was cheap and fairly convenient. We live in Washington DC but most of the guests were coming from Philadelphia, and Lancaster is just on a different price level than the bigger cities without being too far. Also, the owner (April) sat down with us and gave us a list of all of her preferred vendors. Since we are from out of town that really helped, we got deals on the DJ, caterer and flowers through April.
The staff was really good. We had wedding in the main downstairs room with one chair setup, then drinks in the other room, and her staff switched everything in the main room into a dinner setup super quick. Plus they were responsive to our questions as we were preparing, I really felt like I didn't have to sweat all the little details.
Defiantly a recommended experience. It was a unique venue, easy to work with, and our quests enjoyed it.

Stellar! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We told them what our theme and ideas were and they took it to a whole other level. We stopped by in the morning to drop off our supplies and returned in the evening to find the art studio completely decorated perfectly. All guests had a wonderful time and I wouldn't hesitate to use the facility for another function. Worth every penny! -

Everyone loved Mulberry. It was a beautiful wedding, from the ceremony to the reception. April is a blast to work with & so is Linda......loved both of them. They took so much stress off of me. Only thing is that April is a busy lady & sometimes it is a little difficult to keep her focused on your appointment sometimes. But the end result was there on our special day & that is what matters the most!!! My husband & I loved everything!! -

We recently had our wedding at Mulberry Art Studios on June 28th. We had approximately 150 guests at our evening wedding. I wanted to choose a venue in the Lancaster area that was unique and had its own story. I was able to get just that with Mulberry Art Studios. The building has so many unique touches. We used the entire building; we had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the first floor, and used the second floor as our reception area. I was hesitant about choosing Mulberry Art Studios because of reviews from several years ago, but those are definitely outdated. April and Lynn couldn't have been more accommodating to the ideas we had for our wedding. We were allowed to choose the art that went on the walls, and while I don't have much of an artistic touch, April was able to put pieces together which looked absolutely beautiful.
As a heads up to some brides, April is easier to reach on telephone rather than email. I set up my wedding from Maryland, but it was easily doable! I went up a few times and met with April to review everything we wanted for our wedding. She was able to meet with our caterer too. She was incredibly organized and was such a pleasure to get to know when planning our wedding. She and her crew worked so hard on the day of the wedding to ensure everything was set up exactly as we wanted. We couldn't be more grateful to Mulberry Art Studios for giving us a wonderful night. -

April and the Mulberry staff made our wedding a great success! From the moment we walked in and met April we knew it was the place. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and people are still buzzing about how wonderful the space was.
April was a joy to work with. She let us have the wedding of our dreams. Many other places we visited tried to steer our wedding ideas towards a direction we wouldn't want to go (vegetarian reception, dogs in wedding, large number of people with plenty of dancing) April and her wonderful crew strived to make our wedding vision a reality and was so enthusiastic with each and every (albeit strange) request we asked of her.
She was there helping us and guiding us, giving her opinion when we asked, and taking our requests when we thought we knew what we were doing.
Even though Mulberry Art Studios was incredibly busy with other events in the 4 or 5 months leading up to our wedding, they always made us feel as if we were the only event that mattered.
I have never felt so special as I did when April and her crew were tending to us.

I had a great time working with Mulberry! They did so much work and there weren't any hidden charges. Everything was executed in a timely manner and done extremely well. The ONLY complaint was that our "cocktail hour" took a little longer, either due to table set-up or the caterer. My guests didn't seem to mind as they were entertained with a slide show, music, plenty of food and good company. -

Paul and April and the rest of Mulberry's Staff are the most flexible and creative people we met with. We knew right away that THIS was the place for us. They have lots of great ideas but are very willing to work with whatever you want. There are very few rules as far as what you aren't allowed to do. They allow you to bring in your stuff 1 week prior to event and pick up stuff 1 week post event. This is a rare perk. They set up in plenty of time for you to stop by before the ceremony and make sure things are perfect (no bad surprises this way!). They did a better job than I expected. You can trust them! Some reviews say there are hidden costs. This is not true. All costs are very up front just make sure to read the contract where it explains what is included and what is extra. You can rent linens from them (beautiful and cheaper than other premium linens I saw) and tables are not included. Chairs, all set up, as many personal planning sessions as you want with them, as well as using their stash of baskets, candle holders, table numbers etc (tons of stuff!) from the bride and groom closet. This saved us a lot of money. Like I said, they did a beautiful beautiful job and I loved that they let us plan the wedding WE wanted, not the one they are used to putting together. Oh, and you get to pick your own art, so fun! We looked at many venues and none were nearly as flexible as MAS. Check it out! -

Mulberry was absolutely amazing to work with for our wedding. There was nothing they weren't willing to do or to try for us and they also offered some great suggestions that made our wedding even more special. The week before our weddign they sat with us for an entire afternoon so we could plan out every detail. We did not have to think about or worry about one thing on the day of our wedding because they took care of every detail and every change. Not only were they great helping us prepare for our wedding, but they were so efficient on the day of our wedding as well. They did not get in the way of our celebration, but were still there to make everything run smoothly. We received SO many compliments on how beautiful our wedding was. I couldn't be happier for having chose Mulberry for our wedding venue. -

April, Florance, John and the rest of their Mulberry family are the absolute BEST! Our wedding day was perfect from beginning to end. The moment I walked into the reception and saw everything looking the way I had hoped down to the last detial - it took my breath away. They are such a warm group of people and so much fun to work with. I received so many compiments on this amazing venue and you can really see all the care April puts in to her work. Originally, our plan was to go with a venue that had food and everything in house, but quickly we realized that what we'd save in outside vendors, we'd lose in food/drink choices and creative control. That's when we found April and Mulberry Art Studios. Saying that she was a joy to work with is an understatement. She worked with us on our budget and our needs every step of the way and made herself available at all times, the woman is a workaholic! One major thing that we loved about going with Mulberry was that there are a lot of extras that are included (e.g., chairs, some tables, centerpiece materials, etc.), but just be sure you know what is and what is not. We ended up using the whole building for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and couldn't be happier with the result. Everything looked better than we had envisioned, it was just beautiful. We found it helpful to have a few point people/vendors to make sure things kept running smoothly and on time, but honestly couldn't be happier and certainly recommend this vendor to others! -

I want to say that I was extremely happy with the decor and how beautiful my reception looked which was due to the staff at Mulberry Art studios setting everything up. Almost everything was exactly as it was supposed to be done. I left very specific instructions & the room was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I was extremely happy with the venue in the end & would recomment them to other brides. The only reason I didn't give them a perfect score Is that we were told during our walkthrough right before we booked the venue that certain items would be included in our quote. Paper balls hanging from the celiing, extra tables, barrells for the ice, and black satin napkins. When it came time to confirm everything, the extras that we had agreed on as part of the price where charged to us as extra amounts, even though they were clearly written on the contract as included. In the end after alot of back & forth most items did get included for our quoted price. But during the process we were dealing with different people & they did not respond in a timely manner. Many items & decor are shown to you during the walkthrough and sound like you can use them to decorate when you book the venue, be prepared to be charged for them if you want them at your reception. Despite this I would absolutely recommend them & my reception was the most beautiful I have ever been to. -

Our April 9 wedding reception at Mulberry was more incredible than we could have imagined. The space is a blank canvas, and April, Paul, and the team transformed the Loft and the North Gallery into a really beautiful venue. They were accommodating in meeting with us to plan our day, although most of these meetings turned into several hour events. At the first meeting, April provided a list of extra details (with price listing) and was upfront about possible additional fees if we chose to add them. They have an incredible selection of linens (extra fee), rooms of decorations (free), and catalogs of artwork (free) to choose from to customize your event. All in all, we were pleased with how everything turned out! -

This was the most beautiful venue I could have asked for. They worked with us to create the perfect place. They were flexible with payments for us. They helped us save money with the amount of decorations they have that you can pull from. The only problems we had with them were the day of the ceremony. We didn't feel that they pulled through as the "wedding coordinators" once we got to the reception. There was a lot of confusion among all the vendors as they arrived. Things were misplaced. But had we known this and been more on top of it ourselves rather than depending on Mulberry, this place would have been absolutely flawless! -

Beautiful space, friendly staff. The day was more than we could have imagined. The staff was not always quick to respond to emails or phone calls. -

I really liked our venue. Was a great environment that did not need a lot of decorations. They provided a lot of the decorations, including the centerpieces, which helped being on a tight budget. If you are looking for a very unique place to get married and do not want the cookie cutter venue then this is the place to have a wedding. -

great place to get married. they are very flexible, just takes some getting used to dealing with them-they are very laid back, but they will do anything to make your day perfect and it all turned out wonderful! a little pricey but they do have a lot to offer in that price (decorations you can use, staff to set up and tear down, etc). -

First, I had a wonderful wedding. . .but i could see where brides that feel their wedding must be finished exactly to their specifications might feel frustrated with Mulberry Arts Studios. The location is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and warm. They are flexible with their pricing and open to every idea. Value wise, I compared the cost of having my event here with the cost of throwing it on a friends farm. . .. the cost of running electricity, renting all those tents, tables, linens, flatware, etc..... just wayyy more than having it at this charming arts studio. Their art collection is lovely and you can pick out what you'd like hanging on the walls for your day. The closets full of centerpieces, vases, candleholders. . .anything you need to borrow to decorate. ..are all there for you to use.
Things that were frustrating: They are very disorganized. I'd make an appointment and nobody would show up. I'd be there for an appointment and would be asked to wait while they take a phone call, or go talk to someone who just showed up. I'd expect to be there for about an hour, but end up there for three, due to interruptions. The day of the event i show up 3 hours before my event and there's a rehersal dinner going on and nothing is set up. As my guests are showing up they're still setting up the tables and the beverage station has yet to be set up. These are things i full expected them to handle. . . when i asked a few questions, like "where are the pumpkins that are supposed to line the walk, or where are the candles i wanted in the centerpiece trees?" Their response would be "If it's noted here, it"ll be done.", referring to the notes taken during our meetings. It was noted, it was not done.
Others mention they were charged later for extras. . it's been 3 weeks since our wedding and i haven't gotten any extra billing, but if i do, i'm prepared to read them this list of things that didn't happen. . .
given it all to do over agian, i still would have had it there... it really was beautiful.. i just wish they had followed through with what we agreed on. -

Though I love the space here, I felt very out-of-control leaving the decorating to a group of employees other than the one I had spoken to and walked through with. Generally, everything looked beautiful, but there were details that were missing because they were lost in the translation from one person to the next. -

At first I felt Mulberry made my day/reception absolutely perfect! Every thing was set up how I asked them too, even though I was quite worried because I didn't think April was paying much attention to me during our 3 hr meeting of where to place everything. BUT
BEWARE of extra costs. I got a bill 3 months later for 870$. Half the items I never asked for. So I tried to take care of it..payed half of it and didn't hear anything until a year and a half later saying i owed 470$!! WTF! Then over and over tried to talk to April, calling back and forth for a month. Then since I don't just have almost 500$ laying around..I asked to pay 150/month until it was payed. I then got a letter saying they were taking me to court if I didn't pay the whole bill in a week.
I figured if they could wait 1.5 yrs, they could get the total in about 3 months but no, they dont work with you.
They blamed placing out items on "it would have been distracting to guests if I didnt put it out or hide the item" PISSED OFF and it was not right.
Read the contract, you have to pay all the lawyer fees, and any extra items that they freaking want to put out.
Would never have gone to mulberry if I would have known. -

Everyone tells us how beautiful our wedding was, and I have to say that most of the credit goes to Mulberry Art Studios. They did above and beyond what we asked for as far as decorations and setting up for the guests. The people who work at MAS are very friendly.
That being said, we do have some fairly major complaints with respect to the customer service at MAS.
First, trying to get a hold of anyone at MAS was very frustrating. The only times anyone got back to us in a timely manner (i.e. within 24-48 hours) was: 1) when we were initially considering to book with MAS, and 2) on the week of our wedding. Most of the time we had to call back several times before we got someone who could answer our questions. Or, they would tell us that someone would call us back, but no one ever would.
Second, there were several times when we set up appointments to meet with a specific person at MAS but they weren't there. They would either give us a proxy who could not actually help us with what we specifically said we needed, or no one was there to help us at all.
Finally, the process of paying for the event itself was very confusing and stressful. When we signed our contract no one properly explained the fee process. We were given one amount in our contract with little to no explanation as to what this amount meant. We found out after the wedding (when they sent us the bill) that the amount on the contract did not include the cost of some services and linens etc. That would have been fine, except that we felt blindsided when we realized we owed them several hundred dollars more than we expected.
Previously, we said they went above and beyond what we asked for. When we met with them, we asked for a certain number of linens. MAS used extra linens to make our wedding beautiful. They did not tell us this would incur additional charges. They also charged us for removing lights that we did not want, rather than telling us that it would cost us to take them away.
We took a very laid back approach to our wedding. All in all, we were very pleased with MAS on the day of our wedding. However, the details leading up to and following the wedding make it hard to give more than a mediocre review.
We do not believe that the problems we experienced with MAS were an attempt to take advantage of us. It seems more likely that the way MAS is run is very disorganized. They are very good at making a beautiful venue. It's the numbers, the schedules and the money that are poorly managed. -

Appalled and concerned!! My husband and I helped our friend with her wedding at Mulberry. We were met at the door by a man who worked there. He let us in, said nothing and walked away. We later found out that he is the janitor and he lives in the basement. Every time we tried to talk to the owner, the janitor would rudely interrupt and pull her away. He lost his temper and began yelling at her, using profanity. His temper became so violent, we became afraid and wanted to leave as soon as possible. There is something very wrong there. Beware!! Especially if considering an event for children. Unfortunately, my friend had already paid the money to have her wedding there and was stuck. Needless to say, it was a nightmare from start to finish. -

April will sell you false hopes and dreams. She won't deliver half of her promise. Make sure you check the refrigerator before putting anything in it, it was absolutely disgusting. There were mice running around and the man that cleans up is rude to anyone who walks through the front door. I wish I would've known the disappointment I was going to have by booking here. Be careful and MAKE SURE everything is in writing. April will always find a way to cover her own ass. -

I used this venue for my wedding reception. When my wife and I first found this place, we met with April, and we just really enjoyed the feel of the place, the style, and the old style of the place. We checked out other similar venues and this was more expensive than most. However, when we met with April she had promised that they work with you and just the way she talked we felt very comfortable with everything. This turned out to not be the case. We had originally planned to have out wedding August 2013 and had to change it to May 2012 due to circumstances out of our control. When I called and emailed April, no one ever got back to us at first. Once I did get in contact with her, changing the date wasn't an issue. However, this left us with 2 months to plan and April told us how helpful they would be. We scheduled a planning meeting which turned out to be a waste of time. They were late, answering phone calls, etc and NOTHING was done at that meeting. April asked if for our vendors and when she found out we didn't have a DJ yet, she recommended Lynn Strayer from Top Class Productions. We were led to believe that he was someone other couples used and had great success with. He promised to be this great DJ who would provide us the atmosphere and "party" we wanted. This turned out not to be the case and then we find out he has a relationship with Mulberry Art Studios (he works there) that wasn't disclosed. We definitely feel misled. My wife and I had to take another day to go down before our event because our first "planning" session didn't work out. We did everything ourselves with help from our Aunt. The day of our event, Mulberry's staff was more helpful. Another issue I have now is that I was prepaid everything and we didn't have a final guest count so I paid on the high side. When we contacted April with the final guest numbers she said I would get some money back. This hasn't happened. When I picked up our items the Monday after our event she said she would call me that Friday with how much she would refund. She hasn't called me since and my emails and phone calls are left unanswered. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. I definitely wish I would have researched the venue on here before we booked. I would not recommend this venue to anyone!! -

HORRIBLE! The venue is BEAUTIFUL but the service and professionalism is horrendous. They made me feel so relaxed for my wedding day and than broke every promise. They were understaffed and bossed my friends and family around all day. Everything they had promised to do ended up being done by my friends and family when they should of been enjoying our cocktail reception and wedding. Some of my friends even missed my wedding because Mulberry was putting them to work to set up the cocktail hour. Thanks to my friends and family, my wedding wasn't ruined, but without them it would of been. I was, and am VERY disappointed in Mulberry's lack of follow through. They didn't even apologize. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. The beauty of the studio is not worth the work you'll be doing on your wedding day. You pay ALOT for services they don't follow through on. -

The reception was beautiful, but I have so many complaints, I don't know where to begin or what to type. The week before our wedding, the manager (once we FINALLY got ahold of her) sat down with my father and I to go over table arrangement and last minute decorations. She literally FELL ASLEEP while we were talking to her (not once, not twice, but three times!!). As we went over everything we would like in the room, she never mentioned the extra cost for round tables as apposed to rectangular tables (why round tables have an extra fee, I'll never know). A month later, we received a EXTRA BILL for $1000!! Before the reception, during the reception, and right after the reception, we checked with the manager to make sure we could pick up all of our belongings the morning before our honeymoon. We were assured we could. The morning before we left, we called and called. No one answered. We drove down anyway. No one was there. Later, we drove down again. Fortunately, one of the artists renting a studio was there. He let us into the building, but the bridal room was locked!! I had to scale the wall (not all of the walls reach to the warehouse ceiling) to unlock the door from the inside.
This may be a beautiful place, but if I had to do it over again, I'd go somewhere else. I'd even pay twice as much just to prevent the headache. -

The owner, April, does not follow through with anything. She is very difficult to work with. When you are there, she is always on the phone and is not attentive to her visitors. The place has a lot of potential, but is not set up well at all. -

Do not book here my wedding was nearly a disaster
DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO DO THE VENUE’S JOB!!!! At first this venue seemed absolutely perfect! It’s beautiful and April seemed so lovely and helpful.. It turned into a disaster. From the very start April assured me that she and her crew would set up the rooms for us and we didn’t need to worry about anything but decorating, she assured me that changing the Mulberry room from the ceremony to reception area would be no problem and timely, and she maintained that most of all she wanted my vision of my dream wedding to come true. The day before the wedding when we had arrived to decorate the venue, April had not done anything to get it ready for us. She had not cleaned, not fixed lights that were burned out, no tables or chairs were brought out or set up, and the whole venue was stuffed with all of her junk—random decorations, paperwork, fake plants, supplies, etc. We had to clean out the entire space FOR her, when she had insisted the space would be ready for us upon arrival. It took us four hours (and by “us” I mean my amazing bridal party and family, a total of 14 people) to clear everything out. When I asked her why things were not ready for us, and if she could show us where to get linens and tables and chairs (again, this was her job to do, not ours) she responded extremely rudely and told me I was setting her behind schedule. The entire day she and her staff did next to nothing to help us set up—when it was their job to have cleared out the space for us. In fact, while we were all running around to get stuff done, April asked us if we could organize one of her storage rooms and water her plants. April told us they didn’t set up for us because she knew I had people coming to help me (meaning she expected free labor and for us to do her job). It nearly ruined the whole venue, as we had other things to do that day and almost didn’t even have time to finish decorating the space! April was very rude during the process and one of her staff, James, got in my face and yelled at me at one point, which made the whole day very difficult for me, the bride, who already had a lot on my mind. If we had not had 14 of our own people there to help us it would have never gotten done—and the large amount of people needed to clean up her stuff shows just how dirty, cluttered, and unprepared the venue was when we arrived. The day of the wedding was also a disaster. April had not finished hanging artwork in the ceremony room—and 15 minutes before the ceremony began she was still trying to hang artwork while guests were waiting to be seated, including older guests who needed to sit down. When the room needed to be changed over from the ceremony to the reception, April had originally assured us that she would be able to do so in the hour and a half we gave her during the cocktail hour. April took an extra hour and therefore dinner was set back an hour late (food was cold because the caterer had planned on the original time and schedule we had given them), the photographer had to leave before we finished everything we were supposed to, and there was barely time for dancing because the DJ left at the time originally scheduled for as well. The extra hour April took from us cost us dancing time, photos that we were looking forward to have taken, and guests who were unhappy with their meals. The caterer told us that this is always the case when they work with April. April also tried to blame her lateness on us, and again was very rude. -
