    We love The Muck!

We toured the Muckenthaler Mansion for our wedding and fell in love with the venue right away. The whole booking process and getting details ready for our wedding was made seamless and effortless by Sheree. We are grateful we found this gem. Not only is the venue beautiful but Collete's catering staff (S/O to Anthony) is amazing and truly what made our whole experience and wedding day unforgettable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Our dream wedding

We said YES to the Muckenthaler Mansion which is an absolutely stunning wedding venue. From the moment you arrive, the historic charm and beautiful architecture create such a romantic and timeless atmosphere. The details throughout the property—from the classic Spanish design to the gorgeous grounds—make it feel incredibly special and unique.

The entire space feels elegant and full of character, and it provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding celebration. There were so many beautiful spots for photos, and the setting truly made the day feel magical.

What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the amazing team behind the venue. Sheree and Anthony were professional, organized, and genuinely cared about making the day perfect. Everything ran smoothly, and their attention to detail made a huge difference. They brought our wedding ideas to life and everything came out perfectly. Our Ceremony, reception, and evening. They also help coordinate our in and out truck we had for our late night meal for our guest to run smoothly.

If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines historic beauty with an incredible team, this place is truly unforgettable.

    Absolutely loved our wedding day

My wife and I got married here and we can’t help but be happy with our wedding day. Sheree, Catering Sales Manager, patiently navigated us though the entire process, kindly communicating while providing every detail we inquired. Colette’s Catering’s food was pleasant, raved by ourselves and our guests. We can’t stop thinking about our wedding day and hope this review helps individuals on deciding which wedding venue to choose.

Beautiful Historical Venue with Garden Vibes

From the first venue visit to our wedding day, Sheree and Collette’s Catering team were fantastic. We were looking for a venue that was within driving distance of Los Angeles, reasonably affordable, and could accommodate our micro wedding in a way where we didn’t feel sucked by the expanse of the space. We also wanted something that was modern but minimalistic garden vibes, and Muck hit all of these spots. Sheree answered all of our questions (Which probably got up to the 100s by the day of) and every staff member we met along the way (from the head chef of the catering company to Anthony, our event captain the day of) were absolutely fantastic. Even the A/V team who helped us do balcony photos, set up our Nintendo Switch, and figured out the connection for our laptop to the ceremony speakers, for our first game were extremely accommodating and friendly. Special shout out to Anthony who was an absolute gem and constantly checked on us throughout the day to make we were well hydrated and fed, and treated our families with the utmost respect. The only criticism I have of the venue is that the ceremony space is all grass so if (like us) there is the slightest bit of moisture the day of your event, the walkway for the aisle will be a bit hard to walk in. Even wearing thick block heels, I still felt a bit unstable. Maybe if we spent more money we could have put down some temporary solid surface but given none of their photos on IG have nothing of the sort, I think all of us brides are just winging it and hoping for the best that we don’t fall haha. I feel like that would have ruined photos anyways. Beyond that though, highly recommend this place as a venue.

From a food and beverage perspective, wow. We’ve always heard friends mention that wedding food is good but not that good. When we were hiding out in the bridal suite and overheard guests raving about our signature drinks (calling them “addictive”) or coming up to us on the dance floor to talk about how good the New York strip steak was or the strawberry rose cake from the dessert bar, that says a lot. As a foodie whose friends know how passionate I am about food and cooking, I would have been disappointed to serve bad food. And then our gem of an event captain Anthony sent us home with all the leftover appetizers and desserts which served as a great lunch the next day once we got home. So in addition to the great venue, I can’t compliment the F&B staff enough either.

Overall just a great venue and F&B experience!

    Beautiful Wedding Venue

After visiting a few venues in Orange County, we decided the Muck was the best for us. You get the whole property for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, so you really get to design a custom experience for guests. The mansion provided many beautiful locations for photos, and had a bridal suite a groom's suite that we utilized the day of. I would definitely hold another event at the Muck.

We had 6 months to plan the wedding and the first and most important decision was the venue. After visiting many locations in OC and LA, we chose Colette's Catering and the Muckenthaler. Without a doubt, we know we made the best decision for us. The location was ideal - as it was central for our guests from all over Southern CA - (IE, OC, and LA). The venue itself is classic, beautiful and incredibly versatile. Its a true "all-in-one" venue to hold different wedding events, we moved our guests seamlessly to each new area - from the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, to dancing. Also, my favorite, was working with Duane and his team. He was incredibly responsive, friendly, warm, and efficient - he has a ton of experience and made the usually stressful process, much more easier for us. He was accommodating to many of my requests and I was impressed that he replied to my emails personally and in a timely manner. Last, but not least - THE FOOD! It really was so delicious. Our guests enjoyed it all- I received compliments from the cake, the steak, the veggie sides, even the salad dressing! OH and the bartenders were amazing. They were incredibly generous and kept the drinks flowing, which made for a very festive time indeed! Overall, we had a great time working with Duane and his team. From the beautiful venue, the professionalism, the flexibility, and quality service and food, we are so thankful that we chose the Muckenthaler.

My wife and I had our wedding at The Muck in October 2017. We couldn't have been happier with the venue. Duane was great to work with. Any question we had was answered quickly. He was accessible by phone or email. His staff made sure that any of our needs on the day of were taken care of. We didn't have to worry about anything. They all went above and beyond to make our day special. All of our guests loved the venue. It was a perfect setting for us.

My husband and I got married at the Muckenthaler last Saturday and we couldn't have asked for a better venue, catering, or wait staff. Duane Greenleaf and Colettes Catering really helped make our dreams come true. Duane's personable approach to wedding planning and his sweet sweet heart made him and this venue stand out. We were living on the east coast, planning a wedding in Fullerton, where I grew up, and I was nervous at first but it was so doable! We got the gold package and added a fully hosted open bar for our guests and it was so delicious and affordable for our guests of about 150. In the last days prior to the wedding, when things felt super hectic and we were finalizing on numbers and details, Duane really put our relationship first and made us feel so special as he and his team were flexible and patient with us. You can't go wrong at the Muckenthaler!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Duane and his team this November for our wedding at the Muckenthaler. We looked at about 5 venues (that we hated) before we stumbled across the Muckenthaler which we both instantly fell in love with. The outdoor space is absolutely stunning and was EXACTLY what we were looking for. We had around 150 guests which seemed perfect for both the spaces we chose.

The food and cake provided by Colette's Catering was AMAZING! Everyone always says wedding food isn't the best but in our case IT WAS, it was seriously just as delicious as the first time we tasted it at the food tasting. We've had multiple people make comments to us both about how good the food was!

All in all our wedding was absolutely perfect!

We got married at the beginning of December 2014. Duane and his staff did an excellent job of making sure we were happy, everything was accomplished and delicious! The staff was very attentive... so much so, I did not even see them in the background taking care of logistics, etc. It was a challenge to coordinate a wedding from the other side of the US, but Duane and Collettes made it worth it and effortless! They were awesome! I cannot say enough great stuff about them. The bartender was funny and great as well. Duane was accessible by cell and e mail at all times and never once did I worry about the event not working out.

My husband and I were married at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, CA. We absolutely fell in love with the place from the moment we stepped on the property. When we decided we wanted to get married there, we were referred to Duane at Colette's Catering. One of the things I loved most about Duane was that he was willing to work with any budget and still make the wedding absolutely beautiful. He is very easy going and extremely helpful.

The food at our tasting was so amazing I wanted to come back for seconds. The best part was the food at our tasting was the same quality food we had at our wedding. It was delicious!

We opted for a wedding coordinator for our rehearsal and day of wedding. Definitely worth it. Sara was very helpful and polite to my family and all of our guests. I didn't have an opportunity to talk to the wait staff, but I had wonderful compliments from my friends and family.

Basically, I wouldn't change a thing about the Muckenthaler or Colette's Catering. I was told several times by many guests that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and that the venue was simply gorgeous.

    Everyone should get married here!

I have nothing but rave reviews for Colette's Evennts and their staff! I was married at the Muckenthaler in March of 2014, and booked my wedding through Colette’s Events. Duane and Sara of Colette’s Events helped me through the entire planning process and on the day of my wedding. They were friendly, professional, and made my whole experience perfect. The food was amazing and the staff at the wedding was friendly and efficient. I will never forget all the things Colette’s Events did to make my wedding day seamless and perfect. I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a dream wedding!

It is hard to start this review because words cannot express how grateful I am to Duane for all his help. My wedding was held at Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton just over 2 weeks ago and my husband and I are still in aww of how magical our wedding was. Duane was put on this earth to keep brides calm and to make these events everything and more than hoped for.

I personally wanted to elope but being an only child (a girl) from a very large crazy Italian family that wasn’t an option but, Duane made the experience of planning the wedding so much easier to get through. He responded to my emails in a timely manner and if there was something he needed to find out he had an answer within a few days… even in the middle of busy season (June-August) he still made time for me even though my wedding was in November.

His staff was polite and helpful and honest… in fact one of my guests lost a gold hoop earring with diamonds front and back and the next morning one of his staff members called my guest and returned the earring. Another favorite moment was right as dinner was served and guests were making their way to the buffet, his staff brought over two plates with everything on it for my husband and I.

I have to give a special thank you to Duane and Sarah for making one of my visions a reality… I have always thought that if I had a big wedding I would serve homemade cannolis to everyone instead of cake but the only problem is cannolis can’t sit more than about 45 minutes or they get soggy… Duane and Sarah were in the back piping cannolis as they were being served covered in powdered sugar and filling! Thank you both for making that special request come true!

    Leah and Spencer I.

All was handled professionally both prior to and on the day of the wedding. Duane was receptive to some changes within a week or so of the event and available on the wedding day to make sure both bride and groom sides were taken care of as well as the vendors. People commented that the food was great at which they were obviously surprised as it seems wedding meals these days are not highly thought of by many. Parking is close by and plentiful. I highly recommend The Muck for both wedding ceremony and reception!

I cannot give enough positive praise for the Muckenthaler Mansion and Colette's Catering! The Muckenthaler is a BEAUTIFUL historic home and garden in the Fullerton, CA area. It was the perfect setting for our wedding when we were looking for a unique place where we could host both our ceremony and reception. The ceremony was in the garden and which was simply lovely. For the cocktail hour our guests were able to explore the grounds or go inside the Muckenthaler house where they could view the art display and gallery. The reception and dancing were held on the side patio with lovely bistor lights hung above. The venue was absolutely perfect with a touch of a vintage feel and lovely outdoor or indoor setting. Colette's Catering manages events at the Muckenthaler and they were a dream to work with! Duane Greenleaf was our coordinator and he was always responsive and so very helpful. He was simply wonderful to work with! The food and cake were delicious-- honestly better than other wedding food I've had before! Other positives for the Muckenthaler/Colette's--there is plenty of parking on site, they have chairs, tables and many linen options to choose from, they have great connections to other local vendors. The serving staff at our event were outstanding! They were all so polite and so attentive! Honestly I could go on and on about how pleased I am that we chose the Muckenthaler for our wedding but I will end and say that I HIGHLY recommend the Muckenthaler and Colette's Catering! They were a dream to work with!!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Muckenthaler Mansion and it was absolutely beautiful -- it was everything I wanted, but better. We were on a pretty set (moderate) budget and I knew I wanted an outdoor venue, so I'll admit I didn't look at too many places. But when I saw The Muck, I just knew it was the perfect place.

The staff was wonderful to work with, very helpful and accommodating, and all of our guests commented on how great the food was, especially the cake, and how beautiful the venue was. Duane helped us plan the perfect menu and Kristen, who we hired as our day-of coordinator, was wonderful. We had a lot of special touches, like baskets of goodies for the bathrooms and a particular goblet to use in the ceremony, plus favors that needed a little extra TLC -- they were small potted herbs that we were also using as namecards/table assignments. We just kind of dumped that all on Kristen and she made sense of it and set everything up in the most beautiful way.

I would recommend the Muckenthaler to anyone without hesitation. The only drawback was that there's a hard out time of 10pm, but we had a small after-party at our hotel and it worked out great.

If you're looking for a gorgeous, green, outdoor place to get married and celebrate, this is it.

I had the most wonderful experience with Colette's Events at the Muckenthaler Mansion. As soon as I stepped on the property I knew it was the ideal venue for our wedding. We decided to have a late evening wedding and an all dessert reception with a barrista (instead of a bar tender), which is something they hadn't done before. Our coordinator, Kristen, was amazing and worked so hard to accomodate our unique requests. She not only understood my vision, but was responsive and made the entire wedding planning process completey enjoyable and stress free. I was blown away on our wedding day when everything looked (and tasted) exactly like we pictured! If you are looking for a goregous outdoor venue with amazing food, I highly reccommend Colette's and the Muckenthaler Manison

Duane and his staff at Colette's Catering were amazing. They were warm and professional, flexible and hard working, always willing to help in any way they could. That was not only my opinion (mother of the bride) but also the opinion of my wedding decorator and my wedding coordinator. The food was incredible...plentiful and deliciously flavorful and fresh. Due to budget constraints, we selected their most modest buffet, hors d oeuvres and cake. I assumed that the quality would proportionately be lesser but that was not the case. Everything was the absolute best...the food was delicious, hot and fresh, the cake was among the best wedding cake I have had and the champagne for the toast was even a quality champagne! I would highly recommend Colette's to anyone looking for a wedding venue/caterer.

My husband and I were married at the Muckenthaler back in March. From the moment I stepped onto the premises, both of us knew that we HAD to get married here. It was the first and only location we looked at and couldn't imagine getting married and celebrating anywhere else. The location is vast and wide with multiple areas to choose from for your ceremony and reception. Originally, we were planning on having the ceremony in the garden section and reception on the patio; however, rain cancelled that idea and so both took place inside the mansion and was just as gorgeous as it would have been outside. The mansion has a very vintage vibe to it and always has exhibits showcasing so before and after the ceremony, guests have the opportunity to browse inside and check it out. The interior is magnificent and the landscape outside is to DIE FOR!!! You have multiple areas where a bad photo can't be shot. Whether you're looking to have a small (ours was 85 ppl) or big wedding, the Mansion is a great location. There's lots of parking (and it's free), they only have one event per day so your wedding day will be all about you and well, it's gorgeous! Guest after guest kept complimenting how awesome the mansion was and enjoyed exploring the ins and outs of not just the exhibit but the mansion itself. Colette's Catering handles the event/wedding processes and covers catering so basically all you have to worry about is photography, floral and entertainment. I can't list enough positive traits about the mansion. It holds such a special place in my heart and to know that my friends and family loved it, feels pretty awesome.

My husband and I very much enjoyed having "The Muck" as our wedding location. We primarily worked with Dwayne and he was amazing! They really take into account your personal ideas and schedule. The site is gorgeous. All of our guests loved it. Colette's Catering, which is the food company they work with, was also worth every single penny we spent. Overall, everything was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a vintage, elegant, organized, and beautiful wedding.

The Muckenthaler Mansion could not be a more perfect venue to have both ceremony and reception! The mansion is gorgeous, I have a hard time picking my favorite spot! We had our ceremony in the italian garden and the reception inside the mansion, our 100 guests fit perfectly, with room to spare. The patio provided the perfect atmosphere for drinks and dancing. I cant say enough about the Muck!

My husband and I were married at The Muckenthaler in November of 2016. The mansion and grounds are beautifully kept and provided a romantic background to our wedding. The team at The Muckenthaler helped us coordinate the ceremony and the reception, even making last minute changes when it rained. One of the reasons we chose The Muckenthaler, other than the history and beauty, was the capability to move inside if it rained. Although we didn't have the ceremony and reception in the beautiful Italian garden with dancing under the romantic lights of the patio, the end result was even more romantic and our guests were happy in the gorgeous art gallery with dancing in front of a beautiful fireplace. I was very happy that the team worked to move the wedding inside without my having to direct them, they reassured me that all would be done and beautiful when I arrived. I had complete confidence in them and I was very happy with the end result. Our wedding was completely different than what we had expected and planned for but the changes were better than I could have imagined and the wedding was perfect, intimate, and beautifully romantic. Duane and Jennifer worked magic and I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a romantic location. Collette's Catering created a delicious menu for us and the Wedding Cake was beautiful and delicious. Every step of the planning and the wedding was perfect due to the hard-working staff of The Muckenthaler, they truly live this venue and do all they can to make your day special and perfect.

Beautiful site. We had the cocktail hour in the art gallery and around the Mansion grounds. The dancing was on the courtyard with lights strung over, very pretty. The dinner was on the lawn with a delicious buffet provided by their exclusive caterer, Colette's Catering, which was also excellent and covered in a different review. Duane, the coordinator, was very fun to work with and was great at being flexible and helping us pull everything together. Our ceremony was at the Fullerton First United Methodist Church (across the street from the Fullerton train station) so the architecture was similar and they were a great pair for our wedding day. I highly recommend the Muckenthaler, especially as an ideal location for that "Old Town Fullerton" feel/a romantic and unique location your guests will remember.

I loved my wedding at the muck!! They whole process was so easy with them! So many things are included and they are such a well oiled machine. Seriously the process couldn't have been easier with them! They only bummer was at the rehearsal we were waiting around for someone to show up.. I was a little surprised at the lack of communication when they whole rest of the process was so smooth. But on the day of it was perfect !

We chose the Muckenthaler for our July 2016 wedding, all outdoors and on the lawn. The greenery and historic mansion made for divine pictures and the overall experience of the day was elegant yet a relaxed and FUN reception! Colette's Catering did an amazing job wowing our guests with delicious, beautiful food and impeccable service! If you're looking for a "classic" feel for your wedding and ease of set-up and planning, this is your venue! Our expectations were exceeded and our wedding day was perfection!!

I LOVED the Muck and the team at Colette's Catering. I booked with Duane, who was obviously born to do what he does and is great at it. He answered so many long emails of questions from me when I was in the early planning/brainstorming stages, and also checked in at our tastings and the day of. I got a great vibe from him from our very first meeting, and he continued to exceed expectations and provide amazing customer service. Sara was our event ops manager, so she handled food, logistics day of, and any payments/contract changes. She was very sweet and accommodating, and also quick to answer emails, especially in the days right before which is when it's most important! Andrea was my day of coordinator, and I have to admit I was not very confident in her at first, only talking over email. But she also exceeded expectations at our rehearsal, corralling a crazy family with ease and making sure we had everything we wanted exactly how I envisioned! It can be scary entrusting your year of planning to someone else, but she was more than qualified. The mansion itself is gorgeous, there's so many spaces to make use of and all of our guests loved the art gallery during cocktail hour. The reception on the patio under the bistro lights what exactly what I'd been dreaming of. Everyone warned me that something always goes wrong at a wedding, but it was literally perfect. If you love the look of the Muck, don't hesitate entrusting Colette's with your dream wedding.

The Muckenthaler is a wonderful location for a wedding and Colette's Catering provides the food, cake, wait staff, etc. We went for the outdoor ceremony, cocktails in the gallery and on the lawn (Duane had some good suggestions with layout!) and the dinner/reception in the patio. It worked out lovely! The two of us planned everything out well, or as well as one can, but the venue also provided that "Fairy Tale" feel that some guests mentioned. Here are a few comments from family and friends:
“It was the most wonderful wedding I've ever been to. I absolutely loved the venue!! The whole event was just so beautiful…The wedding was more wonderful than I imagined, I was thrilled to be a part of it….It was the most beautiful and truly magical wedding I have ever attended!...I have been to some weddings and yours was one of the best. Everything was so beautiful, so well planned, so much fun. The place, the food, the decorations, everything so well done and delicious. Loved the cake. We all could not stop talking about your wedding, everything was just great…I had a great time at the wedding. It was one of the nicest weddings I've ever been to. The location was perfect, the ceremony and celebration were organized and flowed perfectly. I was very impressed. It was very nice to see and visit with everyone and I even got a chance to take a little tour of The Muck.”

Duane is doing exactly what he was made to do! He makes you feel like you are his only bride and his sole focus is on you. His ability to provide an honest yet professional and always supportive opinion helped to make my wedding absolutely stunning - it was simply gorgeous, and exactly how I had envisioned it to be. Weeks after the wedding, guests continued to comment on how beautiful the wedding was, how perfect it was from beginning to end. The Muckenthaler Mansion is stunningly idyllic and the perfect wedding venue. It was a magical night and I am so happy to have had my wedding there.

The Muckenthaler was the PERFECT venue for our wedding reception. We had the ceremony somewhere else, and came to the Muck after for the festivities. The outdoor reception was perfect for June, and the dance area was the perfect size for our guests (around 250). I also loved that the mansion was open for guests to peruse the current exhibit. Overall, the location was great and had many areas for guests to sit, walk, talk, dance, etc.

This was the most beautiful place to get married at. It was less expensive than other estates that we were looking at because it is a public place, versus just a wedding venue (they do close it to a public when a wedding is being held that day). Duane (who also does the catering there) was very responsive to any requests that we made and basically did whatever we wanted with the place. The Mansion was perfect. It made a beautiful setting and backdrop for pictures. It was easy to find for guests as it was right off the street but it also felt so secluded because you are up on a hill. The ceremony area was perfect and the large lawns and patio made it easy to have a place for lots of dancing and a nice, comfortable dinner. This place was AMAZING!!!!!!

We were referred to the Muck by a friend to have our wedding here and I don't regret it for a second! The whole process with Duane was so smooth. He was accommodating to all my questions and changes throughout the whole year of our engagement. As the date drew near we got in contact with Jenny our day of coordinator who was SO AMAZINGLY good at what she does. She's organized, professional, patient, and overall just perfect for the job. We ran 20 minutes late with our program because of Friday traffic but she kept us updated and informed throughout the entire night!! The venue itself has a garden-backyard vibe to it. We were at first concerned about having the patio next to the lawn as the dance floor because we didn't want to splurge on the dance floor ($800!) but it turned out great!! After dinner on the lawn we have speeches and then we all congregate to the patio for drinks in the fireplace area and the first dance, which I was tipsy by then for but it turned out fine. Our outdoor photobooth was on the opposite side towards the parking lot and the guests had a blast with it while everyone else was dancing. There was plenty of room for both and the transitions were very smooth. Make sure you inform your dj about how the transitions work though because it's not a traditional wedding format if you use the patio as a dance floor.
Overall I highly recommend. One quick point is to make sure you love the food at the tasting because I got the beef option at the tasting for a buffet dinner and I didn't love it. The guests commented they didn't love the beef at dinner either! My new hubby and I are very proud of the wedding we put on and had a blast though. Thanks Duane and Jenny!

My husband and I chose the Muckenthaler for our wedding ceremony and reception (November 23, 2013). We wanted a venue which could accommodate the ceremony and reception. We knew ahead of time that Colette's Catering was the vendor at the Muckenthaler. At my work, we use Colette's for catering needs and they have always been very professional and the food has always been exceptional. That was the main reason we visited the Muckenthaler. We ended up really liking the feel of the venue. It was cozy and just the right size for us. We were planning a wedding for 100 people. There were options to have the either wedding indoors or outdoors.

Duane Greenleaf was our contact person from Colette's. He manages the weddings at the Muckenthaler. He was wonderful to work with. He's very warm and knowledgeable about the venue. He answered my endless lists of questions. And he made our daunting task of organizing a wedding that much easier. We communicated primarily through emails with the occasional phone call when needed. A few days before the wedding. We were introduced to Sara, the operations manager and she too was a delight to work with. She and Duane worked really well together as a team.

The food was fantastic. At our tasting wr chose the pot roast, veggies, rice, salad and garlic cheese bread. We chose the buffet style dinner with h'or d'oeuvres before and cake after. The cake was marble cake with hazelnut frosting. There was a sudden change in weather just prior to our wedding and Sara came through with arranging for heaters to rent. Both Duane and Sara made sure everything ran smoothly.

All in all we were very happy with the Muckenthaler and Colette's and would highly recommend them.

I just had my early July wedding at the Muck, and it was everything and more! My fiancé and I wanted two adjectives to describe our wedding: Beautiful and Fun. The Muck and Colette's Catering delivered just that!

VENUE: absolutely beautiful and so unique! The Italian Garden was able to accommodate our 245 guests for the ceremony. During cocktail hour, guests were able to go to the patio to get a drink at the bar, go into the Art Gallery, or play lawn games on the expansive lawn area. And our photographer was practically giddy with how many amazing spots there were to take pictures.

FOOD: delicious buffet of summer salad, tri-tip with chimichurri sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans. On top of that, our guests couldn't stop raving about the chocolate caramel creme brulee wedding cake!

STAFF: on point! Duane was amazing about answering my 1000 questions and having such a warm and positive attitude. Everyone I met was so sweet and so helpful.

We loved our wedding, and I couldn't have imagined a better venue for us!

The Muck is a beautiful venue. We got married here in July 2016 and booked the venue in January 2016. We had our ceremony outside in the Italian Garden and our reception outside on the Adella lawn. When we first booked the venue we had wanted to have an indoor reception, but then I saw some photos online of outdoor-held receptions under a beautiful tent, and was sold on that. We also loved the fact that guests can roam around inside the gallery during cocktail hour if they wish (although ours didn't, because most of the action was outside). With that said, the price we were quoted when we signed the contract and the price we ended up paying at the end of the day were very different. We are partially to blame, of course - we added a lot of extras and upgrades along the way. But we wished that Duane would've told us ALL of our options before we signed the contract. It would've been nice to know that getting a beautiful tent would be $8K more, upgrading chairs would be $5/chair, etc. But to be fair, Duane and Sara were both very responsive, professional, and helpful along the way and we were very happy working with them. On the day of the wedding, my nephew who has a gluten and dairy allergy, was given Mac N Cheese for dinner. I specifically told the caterer about his allergies beforehand and they still didn't prepare anything for him. When my brother told the sever that his son can't eat Mac N Cheese, she consulted her notes and said - oh we only wrote down that he's allergic to dairy, not gluten. HELLO! Isn't Mac N Cheese gluten? Unless you're telling me they were serving gluten-free macaroni at my wedding? Please. A few other things to note: they work exclusively with one rental company called Signature Party Rentals. You have to use the two Bose speakers the Muck provides, meaning your DJ can't use his/her own speakers. There is a hard stop at 10pm because it's in a residential zone.

The Muckenthaler Mansion is a beautiful venue! It has historic charm and provides a number of great backdrops for photos to remember your special day.

We used the Adella Lawn to accommodate approximately 200 guests, which included adults and children. It was the perfect setting for both adults and kids. Our adult guests thought the location was beautiful, and being on the lawn provided enough space for the kids to wander around so that the reception was fun for them, too!

Although I did not end up booking my reception here, I have to say that Duane was incredibly helpful, patient, informative, and overall just a really great guy. When I told him my budget, he worked with me and never made me feel weird or not good enough for the venue. Apparently they use one of the best caterers around, too. The venue is absolutely beautiful with lots lots of places for photo opp's!! There is even an art gallery for guests to view while you and your new husband are taking pictures. You're pretty much set with this place: great scenery, things to do while the newlyweds to take photos, great catering, and good communication.

The Muckenthaler Mansion is so gorgeous! I had my ceremony in the Italian Garden and the reception on the stone patio. I was super happy about the natural beauty of the garden. The atmosphere was perfect for my little wedding. The food was great, too. The only problem I had was it was super expensive. It was nice because the cost included the venue, food, cake, bar, etc. But for the price I paid, I was disappointed in the service. Duane was super nice, but it was sometimes difficult to get any questions answered. I also worked with Rick and he was also difficult to get a response, especially days before the wedding. The service during the reception was good until we cut the cake, then everyone disappeared. Overall, If I had to do it again, I would still have my wedding here, though. It was perfect for us!

Everything was perfect up until the day of. All his promises fell through once we paid all the money. They say whatever they want to make you happy but don't follow through. If you pay cash you get a discount. They are good about being flexible with the money but not so friendly the day of the wedding. They cut our DJ off short even thoguh they said it could last an extra hour and they never gave us appitizers while we took pictures which he promised. I taste tested those and never got one!!! :(

Beautiful and unique venue. It is handicap accessible. There are many options of where the ceremony and reception can be held and you get to rent out the entire location. The staff that worked our wedding was very helpful, friendly and professional. The cake was delicious as well! I enjoyed supporting a cultural center as well as opposed to another venue.

My wedding day ended up being absolutely perfect, but many times leading up to the wedding we had wished we had gone with another venue. The main issue was working with the staff at Colette's. They had a promo going on when we signed, so we thought it would be great to get a discount and be able to save a few bucks. But with that promo came (unknowingly to us) much less communication and service. We felt like they didn't care about our wedding because we were a promo wedding. If they aren't going to treat all clients the same they should not offer the deal!

We hired the day-of coordinator, who was also our Colette's contact, and much of what we discussed in our conversations wouldn't make it into the contract. So just before the wedding they finally added all the items that I thought had made it in 6 months prior, which resulted in a huge price increase we were unprepared for.

They get you hooked in the intro meeting with a very low cost, and say it's all-inclusive. But it is not!! There are so many added costs. And because they are an "exclusive vendor" you can't shop around. You are stuck with what they have, and what they have is expensive.

Duane told us that they only do one wedding a day, and when we arrived at the site to start getting ready, another wedding was going on! I was completely shocked. we were getting ready and taking photos while they were tearing down the previous wedding. Frankly I was surprised they were able to get my wedding set up so fast.

My coordinator came through the day-of, and it all worked out. But the experience leading up to the wedding was not a pleasant one.

I loved the location of my wedding at the Muckenthaler Mansion. However, I feel the level of service was poor. Collette's Catering is the company that manages all events at this location. They did not follow through on providing pricing or other information unless I hounded them. They were very non-chalant during the rehersal and day of the event. They seemed to miss the fact that this was my wedding and I expected them to be tentative and responsive to our requests. They also did not provide any wiggle room for the time of the event, even though nothing else was scheduled for that afternoon. Overall, the venue was beautiful but the service was lacking.
