I had Macy do my hair and makeup for my wedding and she did a fantastic job! She was able to give me the look I had dreamed of for my wedding day and was so friendly and had great communication throughout the process. My hair and makeup lasted all night even through all the dancing and sweating! Highly recommend Moxie to Go!Moxie To Go's reply:

I booked Moxie To Go for my wedding hair and makeup, and I was blown away! I planned my Florida wedding from out of state, so I was unable to do a trial run, which made me a little nervous. But Macy was a magician! She showed up early and took plenty of time to understand what I wanted. I tend go to very natural with my makeup, and when I've done professional makeup in the past, I haven't looked like myself. But Macy struck the perfect balance of natural yet special for my wedding day! I honestly have never felt more beautiful. Oh, and my hair usually does not hold curls, but again, Macy worked her magic, and my hair was perfect all night (and even the next day!). Thank you for giving me the absolute best experience. 15/10. Nicci, Fallon and the barber that helped my husband were great! Nicci worked with me to create a cranberry eye look for my winter wedding and Fallon was able to incorporate the silver leaves I found into my bridesmaids hairstyles. The make up lasted all day! My husband and his groomsmen were happy with their services as well. The barber was kind enough to come over to the bridal suite to ask my opinion before he did my groom's hair and beard styling. We liked that they were able to have styling done on site too!

My makeup artist was Rachel Cole and she did a PHENOMENAL job on my makeup look for my wedding! I told her I wanted a soft glam look with a little bit of sparkle and glow, and I got exactly that! My complexion looked bright and glowing, and it stayed on ALL a day (which was the most important to me). Rachel was very responsive (which took away a lot of stress), and got to my Airbnb with plenty of time to spare. I was in love with my look, and I can’t thank Rachel enough for making me look beautiful on my wedding day!Moxie To Go's reply:

I hired Moxie To Go to do my bridal hair and makeup and the hair and makeup of my three bridesmaids, my mom, and my sister/usher. I had a bridal hair and makeup trial several months before my wedding and I was incredibly happy with the results. I also took pictures to have for reference the day of the wedding. My bridal party did not have hair and makeup trials because they were not local, but they each brought pictures of hair styles they liked for inspiration the day of the wedding.
My wedding was a Sunday morning wedding scheduled to start at 11AM and Moxie To Go was thankfully understanding and accommodating. The makeup artist and hair stylists met me and the bridal party at Sweetwater Branch Inn at 7:30AM and had us all ready on time; we were able to start our wedding ceremony on time because of their skill and efficiency. Not only were we done on time, we all loved our looks! We had a range of age, skin type, and hair type, and the hair and makeup artists were able to work with each of us for a look we each absolutely loved.
I would highly recommend Moxie To Go to any bride looking to book hair and makeup for her wedding!Moxie To Go's reply:

I did a trial for makeup and hair with Rachel and then hired her for myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding day. I was overall happy with the final results and everyone looked beautiful, but I was dissatisfied with the service. My assumption for wedding makeup was that during the trial, you are creating the almost exact look that you will be doing for the wedding so that there is no confusion on the day of. However, it seemed like with Moxie, if you do a trial, you are essentially just trying out the business to see if you like them, not working on making sure you know what it will look like on the day of. I liked the results of the trial, but she didn't seem to take any notes or photos, it felt rushed and after I decided to book they reached out for Pinterest inspiration. On the day of, it was like we had not even done a trial and as she was showing me what my makeup looked like during the process, it seemed really different from anything we did in the trial. As you can imagine, with a tight schedule and a lot going on the morning of the wedding, I started to panic a little as it seemed like we weren't on the same page with my makeup look, resulting in me actually in tears on my wedding day, explaining I just wanted to go back to the trial look or what she had done for my bridesmaids. It ended up working out, and I was satisfied with the final look, so I would recommend them for their services, but just know it might be a stressful and frustrating process to get there.Moxie To Go's reply:

As we grow and expand our business we appreciate helpful feedback regarding our services and will use your review to further improve the client experience. When we send a quote we always mention that after the deposit is made we create a custom Pinterest board for you for collaboration and for reference if needed. For those brides that choose a trial for hair and/or makeup, it is the perfect time to work out details of what they like and what they don't like. We always encourage our brides to be very vocal during the trials about their preferences and to take pictures. When scheduling services on the day of the event we allow plenty of time for hair and makeup so that the bride and her bridal party can get exactly what they want even if they haven't had a trial appointment. We also try to be flexible with the timeline in the event it takes longer than anticipated or services are added. Thank you again for taking the time to review our services and we hope to have the opportunity in the future to style you for hair and/or makeup so that we may give you a more positive experience. -

*Editing to 1 star after the owner's reply* The response is not truthful and blames the customer. The owner could have easily reached out to me privately to clarify and I could easily update the review, but the reply she wrote is not accurate and it's hurtful. She really mischaracterized the experience. That is all anyone really needs to know because I feel it is not worth it to go tit-for-tat after that reply. I am horrified that the hair stylist was terminated because she offered to do more when people were not satisfied; she was fired for doing the right thing. I did not even realize this until the owner wrote about it in her reply.
I did not reach out after the wedding because everything was so stressful and overwhelming I did not know how it could be fixed-especially with the poor prior communication and reactions to our concerns. Part of me regrets not reaching out, but after the owner's reply I'm 100% positive I cannot recommend this vendor.
We cannot recommend Moxie to Go to another bride or bridal party. First, the bridal hair and makeup trial was rushed. The hair trial went over an hour and the MUA was visibly upset that her time would go over also. I would have paid more for extra time, but there was no communication about what to expect. The salon refused to make/help make a schedule for the bridal party and bride for the day of the wedding; they also would not even provide any guidance for how to schedule or what to expect. The Wedding Coordinator was shocked and had never had that happen before. The makeup artist was a lovely person, but she was not a licensed cosmetologist (we did not think this was even legal??). Several bridesmaids had to re-do parts of their makeup. The hair stylist was tasked with 8 styles and there just wasn't enough time for the bride to have extra time even though the cost for bridal hair was much more than the bridesmaids-she worked so hard and it just seemed ridiculous that there was not another hair stylist to assist. Overall, it was lackluster communication and service from the owner and salon coordinator(s); the artists did the best they could within the parameters they were given and the owner should not blame them in any way.Moxie To Go's reply:

We’re sorry your experience was not what you expected and caused you stress on such an important occasion.
We would like to address your complaints as best we can.
On November 2nd, your sister sent us a quote request. (We do our best to have a quick turnaround for quotes due to knowing a bride’s excitement at beginning the planning process and to also generate business since we are a business.)
The quote said the wedding was for December 30th. That’s 59 days…for a wedding. We tend to book quickly and not available for such last-minute reservations, especially during such a busy time in the season. Not only busy for weddings but also busy for the holidays. Your sister received the quote the next day, November 3rd. The deposit wasn’t paid until November 8th, further limiting time to plan a last-minute wedding.
Your hair and makeup trial was booked for 2 hours. Typically that is a sufficient amount of time for each service to be completed. Your friends brought in bottles of champagne, you were talking to them nonstop, and you were also far more indecisive about your hair which is what caused that to take longer. We love for brides to have fun and enjoy their appointments, and we encourage it, however, we were not informed beforehand you would be bringing people and bottles of alcohol and therefore could not make adjustments to allow for that extra time due to appointments for other clients in the salon.
Your interpretation of the makeup artist as being “visibly upset” was just that, your interpretation. The makeup artist informed us you seemed happy with the appointment. She is a licensed esthetician.
We did not “refuse to make/help make a schedule for the day of the wedding”. We have the extensive email thread to prove that. We explained why we tend to not want to make a timed, set schedule for each person due to the nature of hair and makeup. We give a set timeframe that would allow for the services to be completed. And they were. If a bride has high needs we will work with her and the planner to come up with a timed, set schedule for each bridal party member getting services with the knowledge that it will not be strictly adhered to due to the nature of hair and makeup.
Our hair stylists and makeup artists are independent contractors. They all have their own style and skill level. We trust them to be honest with us about their skill level and ability. Your hair stylist assured us many times that she could handle all the hair. She was not “tasked” with 8 hairstyles, she volunteered and was adamant she could complete them. She did, on time. We are happy you were pleased with her. Even though your services were completed on time, the choices she made in regards to this wedding were not in alignment with our guidelines and for that reason, our working relationship with her has been terminated.
We take seriously the treatment of our stylists/artists and we do not blame our makeup artist at all for things that were out of her control. She is professional, and experienced, and has never had a complaint.
We answered all your emails. Your responses the entire time indicated you were happy and content with the process.
Despite your experience with us, we do hope your wedding was enjoyable.
