We met Ian Cruess when we planned our wedding through High Mountain Weddings. We knew we wanted to be married at Emerald Bay and wanted a private ceremony. Ian was our officiant. We were able to share our ideas for the ceremony with Ian. We were touched by the vows that Ian had prepared for us. It felt really personal and had us both in happy tears. In our short time together with Ian, he made such an impression that we invited him to have dinner with us to celebrate. We highly recommend Ian to anyone looking for an officiant. -

I have had the pleasure of working with Christa for years as a local Wedding Planner. She has always been amazing with my couples, so when it came time to plan my own wedding...she was the clear choice! From the initial hiring all the way through to processing the marriage license, she was with us every step of the way. My husband was unable to attend our meeting, so she went to his work to introduce herself so he felt comfortable with her too!! She goes above and beyond. On the wedding day, she made sure to come see me at the hotel to check in with me and gather the marriage license. I also noticed she was introducing herself to our friends and family which meant a lot with such a small wedding. The ceremony itself was perfection. Everyone was in tears but there were small moments of humor that helped with nerves. She helped us with a ring ceremony to include our daughter as well. She was genuinely excited to be there and help us tie-the-knot. After the ceremony, she ensured our witnesses signed the license and everything was squared away. She even met us after the wedding day to notarize the license and handle everything to get it processed. If you are looking for a professional, calm, heartfelt officiant for your wedding, look no further! -

It was an absolute breeze to get married in Tahoe with Christa as our officiant. The convience of being able to eliminate a step to get our marriage license made it so easy. Christa made our intimate elopement so special. We were able to easily customize our ceremony to make it unique to us. She even provided a printed copy of the ceremony script so we had this as a lasting memory. She also processed our marriage license right away so that the name change could happen within a couple weeks of wedding day. Thank you for everything, Christa - we recommend you 10/10 -

A great experience!
Christa made our wedding so easy, and also special. We wanted a simple ceremony and did the Table Ceremony in her garden. It was a lovely setting, in front of some Aspen trees. Her ceremony was very moving and we are so glad we found her. She even had a tripod so we could record it on a phone. -

Christa is such a wonderful woman. She made our sunrise wedding in the snow such an amazing experience. It was only 14 degrees outside but everything turned out perfect. We live in Colorado, so we didn't know anybody local in South Lake Tahoe, and we were lucky to have found Christa via Weddingwire! Christa was so wonderful to work with, she was very personable and kind. She was very helpful with creating our ceremony! We gave her a lot of the pieces we wanted to include in our ceremony, and she helped us put them all together in a beautiful and coherent way. She was also super great to work with, and since she was able to take care of all of the paperwork for us, we didn't have to make any extra trips to the social security office, which was extra nice since we live out of state! We got lots of great compliments on our officiant and our ceremony from our guests. I highly recommend Christa as your officiant! -

I can't say enough about how amazing Reverend Christa Deane is!
We wanted something super small since this was a second wedding for both of us! An early morning beachside ceremony was just the ticket! Where do I start?! She married us on 3/9/21 on the beach of beautiful Lake Tahoe while the snow lightly fell on us. Gosh it was so perfect. My husband and I are not religious so we didn't want a "godly" like ceremony. She had just the right words us and vows. My husband and I did this randomly. We had been engaged for 2 years and just wanted to be married already! I called her and she was ready for us. Great personality, easy to talk too....and shes a Green Bay fan. 💁♀️ Thank you for the most intimate , personal, experience. Had us both in tears. It was perfect. -

Highly recommend
We decided to elope and needed someone to officiate a ceremony that same day. We called Christa and she was there within 2 hours. We had a brief conversation on the phone about what we wanted for the ceremony and she came totally professional and prepared. She did all the paperwork for us, mailed it out and even sent us emails on how we should go about changing my name. She is so sweet, I would highly recommend her. -

After two postponements for our wedding, we weren't sure how getting married would look. We knew we wanted to celebrate with our community, but we didn't want to put off marrying each other until then. We found Mountain High Weddings and couldn't believe how easy and carefree deciding to marry on whim could be. Christa was so helpful, and having our intimate ceremony with her could not have felt more natural or comfortable. We got married at sunrise over Lake Tahoe--how dreamy! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a way to bring intimacy and romance to the upheaval of your wedding plans, or for anyone looking for a smaller ceremony. -

Perfect for the Occasion!
We were very happy with our decision to have Christa officiate our ceremony. Due to COVID we planned a last minute elopement in Lake Tahoe. Christa was very helpful with making recommendations and was also very accommodating as our plans were constantly evolving. She made herself available for whatever we were up for and we were so grateful to have her friendly and supportive nature on our day. An added bonus was that she was able to provide us with the marriage license & certificate, which saved us a trip to the county office! Christa was an essential piece of what ultimately turned out to be a perfect day. -

Christa was so helpful and great from the moment we contacted her ! Being a new bride and groom we had no idea at all what to look for in an officiant or who would be the best for our special day . We are beyond happy that christa was available on our wedding day and for a rehearsal dinner the night before. The moment we contacted her she was quick to answer any and all the questions and concerns we had and she was so kind and nice.
Having to postpone our wedding date was a stressful moment although christa was so great and flexible and it worked out perfectly with no problems at all.
The day of the rehearsal she came early she right away talked about what we will be doing and made us feel really comfortable and confident. With everything else going on the night before the wedding day my husband and I didn’t know what order the wedding party will be walking down the aisle but christa helped and recommended some ideas for the order during the rehearsal and it was so helpful and easy !
She was so easy to talk to and made the whole experience so fun! Which really made everyone feel confident for the wedding day .
On the day of the wedding she came early she checked in with me and my husband in our separate rooms as we were getting ready and answered any last minute questions and really made me feel at ease when it came to the ceremony . Minutes before the ceremony she came in again to check on me and the plan and I had a last minute change that the rings would not be on our dog but instead the best man will hold them and christa helped bring those rings to the best man and even talked to him about it minutes before the ceremony !
during the ceremony at this point she was a friend standing up there with us marrying us ! She so kindly printed out our individual vows we wrote ourselves and handed us the paper when it was our time to read them during the ceremony which was extremely helpful that we didn’t have to memorize them.
Before the ceremony she kindly put a copy of the whole ceremony and a copy of our marriage license application for keepsake.
Overall christa made the whole process from the very beginning so easy and helpful and fun. She mailed our marriage license to our house and even now a month after the wedding she is so helpful about changing my last name which I was feeling lost with but she is still going out of her way to continue to help us !
We are so happy we choose christa to be our officiant things couldn’t have gone any more smoother or perfect for the ceremony and the marriage license.

Lake Tahoe Wedding
Christa performed our ceremony in a remote location over looking the lake. This was a very personal spot and she hiked in the dirt and bushes from the highway to the perfect location to perform the ceremony. Christa recommended the photographer, and completed all the paperwork for the marriage license to the local county office. We told her the story of how we met, and she incorporated this into our vows. This was a very personalized wedding, and it made us feel very special like it was "our day". -

The Best! Christa was amazing!
Christa was extremely flexible with our wedding location changing due to covid-19. We went from having a 120 person wedding in Gardnerville, to having a small ceremony in our backyard with our immediate family. Christa was a huge help with getting everything organized, doing the paperwork, and even putting the boutonnieres on for us. I had some last second changes to the vows and she had no issues with that as well.
You will definitely be happy having her officiate your wedding. Thanks Christa! -

We were so happy with Christa as our wedding officiant! We decided last minute to elope in Lake Tahoe and Christa was super flexible fitting us in on our desired date and answering our questions by email and phone. We loved that she made suggestions on the location for the ceremony and where to take pictures. It all turned out so beautiful! She also made sure to involve our only guest, Brian's son, during the ceremony and photo shoot. We were actually running late for our own wedding were feeling pretty nervous, but Christa made us feel comfortable and in a matter of minutes we were all relaxed and enjoying the experience. The pictures Christa took turned out beautiful, we get a lot of compliments on them. You can tell that we were having a lot of fun during it all. It was also great that Christa is a notary and got our paperwork filled out correctly. We didn't think that was a big deal, until we heard from friends who got married 6 months earlier where this went wrong and they still don't have their marriage certificate. So with Christa as your officiant and notary you will have nothing to worry about! -

My husband and I recently got married at Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe. Christa was our Officiant and we absolutely loved her. Our wedding was a destination wedding in the snow which created some difficulty hiring vendors, but not with Christa. Christa was happy to stand in the snow with us while we tied the knot. Christa's communication was amazing, and she went out of her way to meet us in person so we could get to know her better. She handled all the paperwork for our marriage licensing and certificate giving me one less thing to worry about. Christa also took the lead at our wedding rehearsal making sure our wedding party and family new exactly where they were supposed to be on the day of the wedding. If I had to do it all over again, I would have hired Christa to be our day of coordinator. She is extremely positive, has great energy, and the experience needed to instill confidence for the big day. Thank you Christa for being a part of our special day. -

Christa is an amazing officiant. She is very professional, all the while making you feel comfortable and at ease. It was like having a close friend marry us. She is easy to talk with and very knowledgeable. We had quite a few questions for her, and she knew everything! She did a great job with being flexible and adapting to our wants and needs. For example, we shortened our ceremony the day before the wedding for the comfort of our guests due to the weather being cold and windy. We met July 22nd and wanted to celebrate it by getting married. We wanted a short ceremony. We called Christa to book July 23rd as it was the best day that worked for Rya and I. However, our family couldnt make that day. They didnt know what our surprise was but we needed to change it. Christa was so helpful changing the date to the 21st. Our Ceremony was no more than 5 minutes and tailored to our goofy personalities. We like when things are quick and easy and Christa made everything perfect for our day. When we found Christa with Mountain High Weddings, it was no accident! Right from the start she was so easy to talk to and accommodating to our requests. We wanted a small, intimate wedding, on the shores of Lake Tahoe. No chairs, no arbor, just us, our family and the natural beauty of the area.
We were not familiar with with areas around the lake or which spot would be best for us... I trusted Christa to pick a beautiful location and did she !
We asked did a location that was easy walking to, as well as a place that had a place we could get a beverage before hand. She recommended Gar woods restaurant and pier. Gorgeous!!!
We met Christa out front and she led us around to the lake side of the building to a lovely grassy area right on the lake shore... we assembled and the ceremony began !
Our parents and our 3 children witnessed our union.
Simple, beautiful , no hassle , no stress!!!
I would absolutely recommend Christa’s services to anyone looking for someone who genuinely is passionate about their job! -
