EXCELLENT Historic-Artsy Venue
We had a beautiful wedding 11/26/2022! Our daughter and son-in-laws wedding was stunning with the vintage brick walls and the huge arched windows. The team at Morean Center for Clay were outstanding to work with and provided great suggestions on vendors for the rental pieces (chairs, tables, etc). We had everything from the ceremony, to cocktail party on the patio, to full reception there for 100 guests and it went off perfectly. We can't thank Christina (manager) and Ryan (bar) for their outstanding service! I also love that this is a non-profit historic venue that provides artists with maker-spaces to work so by renting this historic building for your event supports the arts! HIGHLY recommend this venue and staff. We had a beautiful wedding 11/26/2022! Our daughter and son-in-laws wedding was stunning with the vintage brick walls and the huge arched windows. Beautiful space and great customer service
My now husband and I chose this venue, but it was unique and not a main place that people were choosing. We also chose it because of its history, and it went with the feel we wanted for our wedding. The staff was amazing, Heather was out main contact and she was always on top of everything. She responded to every email, made arrangements for us to view the space several times even if they weren't going to be open. The space was clean and ready for us to go. They worked with us on the hours of set up and breakdown. I would highly recommend this venue. My now husband and I chose this venue, but it was unique and not a main place that people were choosing. A perfect match
We loved the space the first time we saw it! All the old brick and built in ceiling lighting system were things we were really drawn to. We liked the idea of a little vintage and a little urban and artsy. I wish there were a few more restrooms but for about 130 people, we made out okay and our guests LOVED the look of everything. My contact, Heather, was very helpful with allowing multiple site visits and answering all my questions as they came up.We loved the space the first time we saw it! What a spectacular venue for an intimate wedding! Anyone who is looking for a unique venue that "not everyone else has done" should consider the Chihuly Collection. It was an easy process to rent and everyone at the Chihuly Collection was amazing and some volunteered to help after the wedding just to make it easier on us as the bride and groom. Staff was professional and courteous and made our experience worry free. It was magical. For pictures go to Bara Miller Photography and look for Chihuly Wedding and you can see for yourself! What a spectacular venue for an intimate wedding! The Perfect Historical St. Pete Venue
Our wedding and reception at the Morean was on January 21, 2023 and we absolutely loved it. Having the venue just 5 minutes from DTSP in the middle of hotels and restaurants and breweries made entertaining the friends and family in town SO easy. The romantic string lighting against the wood and brick totally sold us. I only scored slightly lower in flexibilty due to certain restrictions the venue has due to it being a historic building - which was understandable. They also require you to use their bartending team if you don't have a full food caterer that includes bar service, however the fact that we were able to do food trucks instead of traditional caterers totally outweighed that limitation. They also require you to use their valet service - who were great though!
The venue's management team Udream was extremely easy and quick to communicate with which was one of my favorite things about this venue. They were so pleasant to work with, and you can tell they truly care about the space. It was very cool to be married in a quintessential historical St. Pete building that didn't break the bank, we would definitely recommend! Our wedding and reception at the Morean was on January 21, 2023 and we absolutely loved it. Such a Unique Space!!
I love love loved the aesthetics of this space! The brick walls and beautiful windows add so much!! I was going for the urban minamilist garden them and it gave the perfect vibe I wanted for my wedding reception (they even have color lights on the ceiling that you can adjust to your liking, if you want to add more fun to the dance party experience, however the string lights are not included, I had Downy at Classic Events Entertainment install them). Heather was our main mode of communication; she was super helpful and responsive! (Thank you Heather!!) She'd arrange times for us to come and see the venue on short notice. However roughly a month before our wedding (Oct 2019) she no longer worked there, so there were some miscommunication in the last month with whoever took over her position, hence the reason I gave quality of service a 4 instead of 5. This is only a space, we had to rent tables, chairs, decor, etc, as long as you have a great wedding planner or you yourself are great at planning, I think this space is worth it! It was $3000 for Friday with $500 for mandatory valet (bc of our 150 guest count). Thank you Morean Center for Clay for being a part of our special day!!! Beautiful space!
This venue is literally just a big hall, but man is it beautiful!! The exposed brick and pipes really gave it a unique look and feel and we got a ton of compliments. The price was excellent and they were really helpful with recommending vendors and giving tips on what past brides had done in terms of placement or decoration. They give you enough time to set up and you can pick stuff up the following day. There is a little garden area outside that gave our photographer some gorgeous photos and the brick backgrounds were super pretty as well. If you are looking to have DIY wedding, then this venue is a wonderful choice! We did a food truck out on their patio and it worked out great. This venue is literally just a big hall, but man is it beautiful!! My husband and I had our fifth date at the Chihuly Collection in St. Pete. They do corporate events, but have only done one other very small wedding. I convinced them to let me do my wedding ceremony there (71 people) and it was PHENOMENAL! We also had our cocktail hour there. They let guests walk around with their champagne and beer and even provided docents for questions! Every time I stopped in to ask questions they were more than helpful. My only suggestion was that there should be only one contact person. Communication did fall through the cracks a couple of times, but once sorted out they were GREAT! I LOVE THEM! And I would do everything the same way again!!!!My husband and I had our fifth date at the Chihuly Collection in St. Pete. They do corporate events, but have only done one other very small wedding. Simply put, they should not be in the event business
The event space is treated like the proverbial red-headed stepchild. Several items: (1) They barely have space in their catering prep room due to all of the art supplies they've chosen to store there. If they're going to use the space for events, these items should be removed (2) They do not have a waiting area for the bridal party and if you dare try to stage near their office you'll be met with a surly attitude (3) This is a working artist space and there is clay dust all over the floor, meaning that any floor length gown will get dirty (4) They don't allow you to begin load in until noon. This is simply not enough time to set up for a late afternoon function (5) Event details are not their strong suit. Even if your planner gives them a detailed timeline, they'll claim to not have seen it (6) The general attitude is that they'd rather not be doing events (7) It takes quite a bit of money to put lipstick on a pig. Although the venue looked beautiful once all of the decor was in, it took quite a bit of money to get it there (8) I'd definitely recommend finding another venue. The event space is treated like the proverbial red-headed stepchild.
