Wedding Review

Jim did sound for both our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Leading up to the event, he was responsive and helpful. On the day of our wedding, he was punctual and worked hard to ensure good quality sound for the outdoor ceremony despite the wind. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed his presence during the reception as well, and he kept the crowd excited throughout. I would highly recommend Jim!

Great DJs, easy to work with

Moonlight melodies was perfect at my wedding. They kept the dance floor going and also dismissed tables and made announcements through the evening. They are very professional and friendly. They also have transparent pricing that explains exactly what you get for the price, which is reasonable. Would recommend!

Moonlight Melodies made a wonderful wedding!

Jim Greene was a great DJ and had a lot of professionalism and humor in his service. He was super flexible to music suggestions and the schedule.

He is a great value for the price you pay. I would highly recommend him for a DJ and MC.

Jim from Moonlight Melodies

Jim did a great job communicating with us before and during our wedding. He was very active at responding to emails especially in the week leading up to our big day. He was amazing and kept the night running smoothly. From the moment he got setup, he helped keep things rolling and make sure everything got accomplished throughout the night. His crowd interaction kept smiles on everyone’s faces.
We highly recommend Jim. He is so good at his job and is so much better than we could have imagined.

5 Stars across the board!

Jim was by far the best DJ I’ve had ever experienced at a wedding and I’m glad he was my Wedding DJ. Very reasonable price for the experience he offers. Jim listens and Jim truly cares. The music kept playing even through our dance wasn’t popping all the time he kept the music coming. All my must plays were played, along with all the requests my guests requested. I would highly recommend Moonlight Melodies if I am ever asked about a DJ!

Highly recommend Moonlight Melodies

Jim was fantastic! He was very responsive leading up to the ceremony. I had multiple revisits the plan and Jim was more than accommodating. He kept the music jamming all night. He did a great job with the games we asked him to help us with as well.

Great Choice

DJ Jim Greene was a great addition to our wedding! He listened to what we wanted and what our guests wanted to hear and he made for a great time! His response to questions was fast and professional! Super glad we chose him!

Moonlight Melodies was recommended to us from a friend and we are so grateful we booked with them! Jim did an amazing job! We had many compliments that the dinner music wasn't too loud but people could still hear it if they were listening! We also used the uplighting and it made the reception venue look amazing during the dance! We highly recommend Moonlight melodies!

Service was excellent!

Jim was the best DJ I could have imagined. I was hesitant to hire a DJ because I didn't meet him until the wedding day, but his responsiveness to emails, online portal, and enthusiasm on the day of surpassed my expectations. The music was perfect, and everyone was getting up to dance by the end! I would totally recommend them! Thank you, Moonlight Melodies!

We had a great time!

DJ Mike was amazing! He kept everyone on the dance floor by switching up the music, if one song didnt get people on the floor, he would do a 180 with music and BOOM the floor was full. I haven't talked to a single guest who hasn't said they had an amazing time.
I would definitely and highly recommend Moonlight Melodies and DJ Mike. My son is getting married next year and I'm positive we will be hiring Moonlight Melodies and requesting DJ Mike.

Wedding DJ

Moonlight Melodies was absolutely fantastic and met all of our expectations and then some. We had an outdoor wedding with an inside reception and they were so flexible and willing to accommodate our every need! The vibes and positive energy made the dance floor alive and full! Would recommend 10/10 and would absolutely use them again in the future!

We were very impressed with DJ Mike! We didn’t get to connect with him directly before we booked (talked to owner Jim), so we were a little hesitant at first. But his service was excellent! Mike also did the music for our ceremony- and it went perfectly smoothly without us even rehearsing. Comments from couple/guests were: “great playlist” “he catered the playlist to our preferences/style” “never took and break and kept people on the dance floor”. Very professional! Flexible in calling to connect/ hear our preferences before the day. Thanks Mike!

Incredible DJ for an incredible night!

Music was SUCH a huge part of our wedding and Moonlight Melodies made certain that it all went smoothly and beautifully! Not only was everything perfectly timed, but the MC portion was equally perfect! Everyone adored Jim and we had tons of guests tell us they were actually jealous they hadn't hired him for their own weddings! Communication leading up to the day and throughout the day was phenomenal. Literally no complaints, was a fantastic experience!

Jim is the man!

We loved every second of the reception because of Jim! We couldn't have picked a better DJ for our wedding day. He was very outgoing, flexible, and did an amazing job tending to our guests throughout the evening. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to celebrate with us all. Jim was the bomb.com. He was super flexible and personable! He was there early and had everything set up quickly. Everything went off without a hitch. During a toast a song was mentioned and Jim had it playing in minutes.

Moonlight Melodies did a fantastic job picking out the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. Jim was so flexible with any changes to our schedule, requests from guests, and he even stayed later then planned!

Jim was awesome to work with for our wedding! All of our favorites were played during our wedding dance and the dance floor was full all night. We had so many complements that the music was so good and the mood was just right all night long. We had an amazing time and so did all of our guests. He was very flexible when we needed him to come set up early because the ramp wouldn’t be accessible at the time he normally would set up. Jim dresses for the occasion and his DJ booth looks very professional. He listened to all of our special requests and chatted with our guests, so easy going! I would highly recommend Jim to DJ your special event or wedding.

Jim Greene is the owner/founder of Moonlight Melodies, who also happened to be my 6th grade teacher! I wanted a DJ I knew and Jim Greene was the man for it! He did an amazing job with song selection, speaking to guests, and making us feel important and cared for! Best DJ ever!

WOW! Jim did an AMAZING job at our wedding. He was extremely reasonable for pricing and provided the highest quality of service. He was great to work with from beginning to end. Our dance floor was PACKED ALL NIGHT!!! He knew what the crowd wanted to hear. We were given a client portal to fill out with timeline, music requests, etc and that gave me a lot of peace of mind before the big day. Got so many compliments on the DJ. Seriously, there is no need to pay for DJ Jer, Pinnacle, etc. Jim did a better job than other weddings that had these DJs. Thanks for everything, Jim!! You helped make it the best day ever!!

Both of the DJ from Moonlight Melodies were incredible. They reached out to us multiple times to make sure things were the way we wanted them. The website was incredibly easy to use to make sure our information was there and ready. Jim was so personable on the phone and was so eager to make sure our experience was amazing. DJ Mike did such a great job! The music was on point (there were always people on the dance floor), he did a great job doing exactly what we wanted, he listened to requests, he played the types of songs we wanted, and was just so very flexible. He also did awesome getting the crowd to the dance floor!!! We are so very pleased and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will recommend these guys to everyone I meet!!!

Moonlight Melodies provided an absolutely stunning experience at our wedding. The DJ, Dakota, was very attentive, catered to our needs, and carried us through the night with so much fun and enthusiasm. The music was very specialized, and they provided everything we requested. Fantastic! Jim was great about communicating and even as we added details in the days leading up to our reception, he had no problem making it happen. Moonlight Memories' website made customizing ensuring the music we wanted made our dance extra special. The dance floor stayed busy and we loved every song. Our DJ was above and beyond. We had a malfunction during a video and there was no sound, and the DJ saved there day by playing his music over the video. I thought that spending $1000 for a DJ always seemed a little crazy, but Mike was worth every penny and then some.

I would definitely recommend Moonlight Melodies to anyone looking for an amazing DJ. He did such a great job at our wedding!! Our dance floor was packed until it was time for us to shut down. He did so many fun things throughout the night- some of our guests told us that our DJ was the best they had ever seen at a wedding!

Picking a DJ is a huge part of planning for a wedding. My advice is to chose Jim at Moonlight Melodies and you will not regret it. We were very picky about the music and Jim rocked it, he even let the bride do some Karaoke! He was very well presented, had good equipment, and was very enthusiastic, friendly and kept the dance floor rocking right until the end.
Couldn't have asked for better.

We researched several DJs in the Sioux Falls and surrounding area before we chose Moonlight Melodies, and we're so glad we did! Not only is Jim the most reasonably priced, he also provides top-notch service and is extremely friendly and easygoing. We loved that we could customize the services by choosing specific songs online, as well as how many hours, lighting options, etc. In addition, Jim was very professional in his email communications, which is always appreciated. Working with Jim was such a breez. He did everything we asked of him and then some! He played all the songs we requested and our guests requested. If he didn't have the song he went and bought it right on the spot. Our guests said he was so polite and easy to talk to and he played a great variety of music. Moonlight melodies made our wedding reception a success! Jim was not only able to entertain the crowds and keep people on the dance floor but was very welcoming to any things we wanted to include. Comparing price wise to other DJs we looked at, this was the only one where the value was phenomenal. You could tell that we didn't just hire a DJ for our wedding but someone who is truly passionate and driven by what he does. Moonlight Melodies has provided entertainment for a few events I had been to and all were uniquely created to fit the crowds!

We hired Jim for our parents 35th wedding anniversary. I told him the year they were married and that they like the band The Eagles and his song selections were fantastic! He also provided karaoke which was a favorite. EVERYONE young and old had the time of our lives! We are STILL raving about that night 5 years later!

Working with Jim at Moonlight Melodies was easy, flexible and fun! From when I made my initial inquiry with Jim through the big day, he was available for questions and very timely on email responses.

One feature we loved about Moonlight Melodies was the fact we had an "online customer portal" where we were able to schedule out the exact music we wanted played throughout our night. It was easy and helped put my mind at ease. We had some last minute scheduling changes the week of the wedding, and Jim went with the flow and adjusted his schedule to match ours. It was perfect.

Throughout the dance, Jim did a great job of reading the crowd and took multiple requests from our family, friends, and us!

I've heard nothing but good things from our reception and the music made it what it was.

Jim- thank you again for everything! I will be recommending you to our engaged friends in the Midwest :)

It was a great reception, excellent music & kept the guest dancing! Had many compliments on the DJ and the music!!! There was always people on the dance floor! What I liked best, the music was not so loud you could not visit with the people at your table, it was great! I don't like yelling when I am visiting with friends and relatives we have not seen in a while, so it was all good! We were very satisfied, and will be recommending you to anyone that is questioning us about music for an event!!! Kudos for Moonlight Melodies!!!

You can create a profile on their website where you can plan out your entire reception, request music, etc. This helped ease a lot of stress during wedding planning. Our DJ himself was very personable, very friendly, and just the right mixture of involved but not taking over the entire reception. He had limited guidance from us, and what he did get was probably chaotic anyway with the craziness of wedding planning, but we completely trusted him to do his thing and keep the party going, and he did not disappoint! As the bride and groom, we were very pleased, but we got lots of compliments from family and friends as well. It's not easy to appeal to all generations! :) Awesome job - would highly recommend!

He was so flexible with all of our music requests! My maid of honor incorporated music clips into her speech and he did a great job playing the correct music at the correct times.He only found out about the music/speech when we got to the reception. He also provided karaoke. It was a blast. He did not tell us when we could us it and could not use it. He also provided DJ service to a friend the following weekend at her wedding and he did an excellent job there as well! Did I mention he is affordable.....

Jim is an awesome DJ. He was willing and enthused to do or play whatever we asked. He was flexible and fun!

We had him stay over two hours past his scheduled time and he was more than willing to do so. We also had him do the slideshow of pictures, play music through the dinner and introduce the bridal party. Everything went fantastic and he definitely kept the party going!

Jim was so great! We had such a fun time at our reception, and received so many compliments from our guests on the DJ.

Not only was the music perfect, but he also had the mics set up so that if guests wanted to sing along with songs or sing karoke, they were able to! This was HUGE for us because we both love to sing, and so did many of our guests - we had a blast!

Jim had the perfect music playing during the dinner - my husband commented on how great the songs were - and he had all the songs we had requested, plus some great ones that I hadn't even thought about. He had a wide range of music for everyone to enjoy, and he had great activities for the wedding party and guests to join in on.

Our guests had such a wonderful time, and I could not have asked for anything differently for our DJ services. I definitely recommend Moonlight Melodies!!

We highly, highly recommend Jim Greene from Moonlight Melodies. He is very professional (came to dance wearing a tux) but down to earth. Jim is very kind and easy to work with. We did all of our corresponding via e-mail and he responded to each very quickly. His music was as we chose and I could tell he adapted to our dance crowd, playing songs the younger crowd really enjoyed. We heard many comments about our dance being the funnest wedding dance they had been to. The music was clear and just the right volume so guests could visit in the off-dance floor area. He needs just a small area to work from which left more room for the reception. He even helped clear tables from the dance floor after the reception. His light bar was just right and everything looked very modern. Jim was so accommodating that he took music requests all night long from the very young to the elderly. There was never a break. We were allowed to use his microphone equipment during the reception for prayer and speaches. He also allowed the groomsmen and brothers of the groom to sing karaoke to the bride which was hilarious. We would definitely hire Moonlight Melodies again and will look forward to it. Absolutely a 5 star service!

My husband and I were soo happy finding Jim Greene to be our DJ for our wedding reception. He is great to talk to and very easy going. When we had questions, he was open for emails/phone calls/ and stopping by if he was around. When everything was done, my family and friends said how awesome and fun he was and wished that they would of had them when they got married. I totally recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!

Jim did a great job at our wedding. Our dance floor was TOO SMALL for all the people dancing!!!! He did a great job of gettting everyone involved and was very keen on listening to what my husband and I wanted for our dance. We had a wonderful dance and received many positive comments about it. Jim had a great sound system, lights etc. But I think his greatest asset was that he listened to us and the dance went exactly as we hoped it would!

We had Sarah as our DJ and she was amazing! She checked with us to make sure everything was done our way and even checked the pronunciation on a couple names. It sprinkled a bit through our ceremony and even though the were providing the sound they stuck with it and everything was great. The lighting the provided for the dance floor was a nice touch too!

Jim is one of the best at what he does. Could get any song we wanted on demand. I would recommend him for any wedding or party. He made my wedding reception great even with all the chaos we had. When we showed up in the limo he was waiting outside to ask, how we wanted our introduction done. Would recommend him to everyone.

They should definitely be on your list to choose from and really should be the ones you pick. They were very easy to work with showed up on time and had the music we requested. Was very flexible with on the spot changes/additions. The price was for 5:30 start all the way to 1am. So keep that in mind when you look at the total and compare with others. That is 7.5 hours worth!

Mike did an awesome job at our wedding! He was great with interacting with the crowd and small children! Jim was great at handling the last minute changes we had. I would recommend Mike as a DJ to anyone!

Great experience overall

Only note was that are must play songs were mainly played at the end and in a row would have preferred them split up throughout whole dance other then that did a great job

Wedding dance

DJ Mike exceeded our expectations. He was very easy to work with and willing to make any adjustments we needed. We really enjoyed that he was able to read the party and keep everything more family oriented.

Best Day Ever!!!

Jim was amazing to work with. He was helpful and responsive leading up to our wedding day, and the reception was perfect. Jim played a great mix of music for our guests, and we had so many comments from friends and family after the day about how much fun our wedding was.

I worked primarily with Jim in booking our wedding and working out all the details. He was always very quick and helpful in resolving any issues or questions we had. Mike served as our DJ for the evening. He ran the sound for the ceremony as well as the rehearsal. It was very helpful that he was also able to come to our rehearsal the day before and run through the program. There were a few discrepancies in the songs we requested, but overall we were very impressed with the service and received many compliments from guests.

Jim was great to work with! We loved the fact we could basically choose every song at our reception. His customer portal site was extremely helpful! We were able to list to the minute, what song we wanted played when at our reception.
