We had a wonderful experience working with Angie. She was willing to be flexible during the planning process with meeting in person or over the phone to go over details. We had so much fun with her at our engagement photo session as well as the wedding day. We really appreciated how she seemed to enjoy the day as much as we did! She went the extra mile for us with doing a speed round of photos at the wedding (one with each of 24 tables within 3 minutes), and the pictures turned out great! That was a huge hit. We are very pleased how all of our wedding photos turned out and are happy to have them for years to come. We highly recommend working with her!

The amount of flavor choices they have can match anyone's taste! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I often stop there for their mini cakes just to snack!

Monzu is a great bakery with a ton to offer. I have picked up gluten free items a few times for events and they taste fantastic. They are one of few bakery's that actually make gluten free items. Don't get me wrong their cakes and cupcakes are amazing, but it's great to give the bakery props for making other items not as well know! Their macaroons are to die for!

We ordered a cake for our Wedding. Despite the fact that it was kind of a last minute order, they were able to accommodate. The person behind the counter was very helpful in assisting us. (Can't remember her name though :/ ) For the design, we just showed her a picture of what we wanted and we got what we were looking for and more! The edible flowers were gorgeous and the whole thing was delicious! We got a lot of compliments on the cake, both, on the way it looked and on the flavor.
We are exceptionally pleased and would definitely recommend this bakery!

Monzu was able to meet all of requests. We had a destination wedding in Green Bay and they really helped us make our process go smoothly. The desserts looked and tasted great. My husband also loved his Groom's cake, (Packer's Themed)! They set it all up beautifully. The pricing was also very fair. Monzu also is very creative with detail and made each cupcake very unique.

A stunning and delicious cake
My wife and I loved working with Monzú for our wedding cake. We contacted them head of our first visit, and they prepared several cake samples for us to try. Upon our arrival at Monzú for our tasting, they were ready with our samples and lead us through the cake selection process. They worked with us to find a gorgeous cake design that fit our budget perfectly. We chose a cake with three different cake flavors to ensure our guests could find something they liked. On our wedding day, the cake arrived and was perfectly prepared. It was beautiful and delicious. We would definitely work with Monzú again.

A Beautiful Centerpiece for our Wedding
We absolutely loved our wedding cake from Monzu Bakery! They delivered on time and made returning the cake stand a breeze. We chose a two-tiered cake and a traditional Norwegian wedding cake for our party and sheet cakes for our guests, and everyone raved about how delicious they were. There were so many flavors to choose from, and we loved being able to mix their flavor options with our own design ideas. Jennifer was so eager to bring my decorating vision to life and executed it perfectly—the cake looked exactly how I imagined. I’d love to use Monzu again for future celebrations!

Wow! What a delicious cake! We tried one other cake place, and were not impressed, but once we tasted a few options that Monzu had, we were sold! We had a small cake for us to cut - they arranged fresh flowers on it beautifully), and did sheet cakes for our guests. I was a little worried that the cake slices were on the small side, but it ended up being okay since the cakes are so rich - plus this gave guests the opportunity to try a few different flavors if they wished. We had white chocolate raspberry, peach melba, and chocolate peanut butter. They were all delicious! Lots of happy guests!

Jennifer at Monzu Bistro is incredible. We were able to do two tastings (an initial one to choose Monzu and then an additional one later closer to the date to make a final cake decision). From our guests, we have been told that our cake was the best one they ever had at a wedding (we went with the gluten free double chocolate caramel truffle). It was a hit and was eaten very quickly. The decoration of the cake was exquisite and matched our colors and decor perfectly. We also had a groom's cake with our alma mater's seal on it and it was absolutely a perfect replica. The price was right and the people at Monzu are great to work with. I highly recommend this vendor.

I first learned of Monzu bakery at a bridal show in Green Bay as I was planning my wedding day. Out of all the other bakery booths that was at the show, I thought Monzu was by far, the best. I was not wrong. During the planning process, we would travel to Green Bay to handle lots of things for our upcoming wedding and as often as we could, we would stop at Monzu to buy some delicious treats. Everything was ALWAYS over the top scrumptious! Our wedding cupcakes were just as delicious as we knew they would be and many guests raved about them to us! I highly recommend Monzu Bakery for any event in your life. I'm not sure what their secret is but you won't be disappointed!! Yum!!! 😊

We used Monzu Bakery for our Wedding in Door County. We really wanted cake pops and they were the only bakery I could find that made them in large quantities. There were numerous flavors to choose from and they were all delicious! We choose Cherry Cordial and Cookies and Cream. All our guests loved them! We also had a small cake to go along with the Cake Pops. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly, prompt, and attentive to our needs. We had a slight issue with the weather and delivery (it was unseasonably hot for September) and the Cake Pops did not hold up on the sticks during delivery. The Bakery was VERY accommodating with the issue and refunded a portion of our bill to compensate. They were amazing! I would highly recommend! Great staff and treats!

We had a family friend do gourmet cupcakes instead of a big wedding cake. I still wanted a cake (for pictures) and thought a Groom's cake was a great idea! Our wedding cake was amazing, people commented all night that they wish they had more. The flavors that we had were: triple vanilla creme brûlée, strawberry shortcake, double chocolate caramel truffle, and red velvet. Monzu was more than accommodating with our tasting and any changes and additions that we made prior to the wedding. I will be going to Monzu for any cake in the future! They also did a surprise groom's cake for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they did a replica of our dog, it was seriously AMAZING at how similar the picture looked to the cake and how good the cake tasted.

I kid you not... THE BEST CAKE I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! So I am not interested in plain old flavors. I spent a summer in France and had French baked goods regularly so my standards are high. Absolutely loved the cupcakes they made for our wedding! Jennifer and her staff are extremely helpful and very professional. We waited until the last minute to look for a bakery as we forgot this very important detail. They were able to make our date work and were so helpful in walking us through the process. We had tried a couple cupcakes before our big day and they were amazing!!! The flavors we went with for the big day were: Strawberry Daquiri, Carrot with Cream Cheese and Red Velvet with Cream Cheese... all were delicious and our guests loved them!! Thank you so much for making our day perfect!!

Monzu Bakery was absolutely amazing to work with!! My husband and I hired them to do our wedding cake for our wedding in Door County, WI on 6/17/16. Jennifer worked with us to schedule a tasting---SOOOO DELICIOUS! The tasting cake flavors were all so delicious and moist!! We picked 2 flavors for our 3 tier cake and were so disappointed we didn't order a bigger cake!!! We wanted leftovers :)!! We received so many compliments at our wedding. Definitely recommend this bakery!

Jennifer did a great job matching my daughter's ideas and her cake designs. We ordered 25 small cakes and one two tiered cake for the head table. The designs were bright and colorful, creating beautiful centerpieces. Jenn made chocolate monograms to top the cakes and used swirls of ribbon to add texture to the four bright cake designs.The flavors were fantastic and our guests had fun sharing with other tables so they could taste all four recipes. The cost of all 26 cakes was very comparable to a large cake, and we didn't need to spend money on other centerpieces.

As amazing as it always is! Everything looked beautiful, exactly how I had asked, and tasted even better. We ordered 150 cupcakes for our 115 guests, and we had less than 15 left over by the end of the night. The amount of people that were telling me, and are still telling me, about how great they tasted and how they were the best cupcake they have ever had is overwhelming. Even people that don't like cake or sweets thoroughly enjoyed these cupcakes. Flavors we got were Carrot Cream Cheese, White soaked in Passion Fruit Rum with Passion Fruit Buttercream, and Chocolate Mint.

Delightful Wedding Cupcakes
Super late with this review, but Jenn and the rest of the Monzu crew did a wonderful job for my September 2019 wedding! From our initial consult on wedding cupcakes, to the delivery the day of our wedding, working with them was a breeze. The cupcakes themselves were AMAZING. I don't think you can go wrong with any flavor. The decorations were so classy, and I loved how the decorator was able to tie in some copper details-- an accent I used throughout the rest of the wedding decor. So many compliments from our guests! Highly recommend Monzu Bakery!

We met with several bakers in the area some were possible and others not a chance. When we sat down for this cake testing before I could even get a chance to try the first one my now husband was three flavors in - other places I had to force him to try some. He had a grin because he knew I was in love with the cake (I am not a fan of buttercream but their frosting is ah-mazing).
Jennifer worked with us on the feel of the cake, flavors, design, etc. This was the one meeting with a cake vendor where we left knowing what the cake would look like on top of the price...no surprises. We booked her less than 12 hours later. She low-balled everyone else's price, we loved the cake, she was great to work with...we took samples to our parents and for a year my dad who hates cakes was looking forward to the cake (and this girl had dreams about the cake) and it was a huge hit at the wedding.
A few brides to be were in attendance and were disappointed that my cake was better than theirs and they weren't looking forward to their cake now. THANK YOU MONZU (we now hit up the shop every time we are in town).

Without question, this is THE place to go for your wedding cake. We absolutely loved it... and so did our guests! We did a small tiered cake (Triple Vanilla Creme Brulee) and then had sheet cakes made (Triple Vanilla Creme Brulee and Carrot Rum). Exceptional presentation and taste.
When you do your cake consultation you can do a taste test of several choices. The tasting cost gets applied to your final bill... so in essence it's a free tasting.
We will be back for cakes/cupcakes!

Best cakes I have ever tasted. We could not be happier. While we know that Monzu is very talented with their cake designs we chose a simple cake and let the flavored do the talking. So moist and fresh. We now live out of town and buy a cake to eat every time we visit. I always feel bad eating cakes at other weddings because I know that since they were not from Monzu, they won't even compare.

We recently got our wedding cake and cupcakes from Monzu Bakery. The cupcakes were beautiful and more importantly, tasted amazing. We had four different flavors and designs and each were incredible according to our guests. After a few planning sessions, the cake and cupcakes "magically" appeared at our reception venue with no interaction from the bride or I. They were very well priced and very delicious! I highly recommend Monzu!! I had cupcakes for my wedding and they did an amazing job. I am not a huge sweets person and did not think that I wanted to put too much money from my budget into my cupcakes. Monza is super reasonable and super yummy. I ordered five different kinds of cupcakes and they decorated each one differently and made signs to make sure people knew that each cupcake decoration went with a certain flavor. My cupcakes flew off the cupcake table and I end up running out of cupcakes even though I ordered more cupcakes then I thought I needed . My mother in law is still sulking because she thought he was going to bring home the extra cupcakes, freeze them, and eat them the next couple weeks. I also had several people at about who made the cupcakes so they could use them for events of there own. The only reason I did not give them a five on everything is because when I met with the lady for my consultation she was not that friendly and I did need to make my appointment several weeks in advance to be able to meet with her. Do not let these things stop you from going with her. I believe she is just extremely busy especially in summer but is totally worth it. My cupcakes were awesome and set up on time and perfect. I didn't have any worries on my wedding day about them and the only negative comment I had was that people wanted more.

Fell in love with a cake design I found online (picture on the right) and showed her the picture and she was able to make my dream come true. We heard so many people at the wedding talk about how good the cake was and asking where we got it. Overall, I had a very positive experience working with Monzu. Our cake was delicious, and it was decorated beautifully! They were very flexible and willing to create what we wanted. I loved that it wasn't an extra cost to do different flavors. Loved it!
One tiny thing that bothered me a bit was that they were a bit condescending when I said I wanted to keep and freeze the top layer of our cake for our 1 year anniversary. I am well aware that it probably doesn't taste the best, but the reason my husband and I want to do that is purely sentimental. They were pushing their mini recreation cakes (the make a mini version of your wedding cake), and though I think that is a very nice service for those who would like that, I didn't appreciate the fact that they didn't really respect my decision not to.

We got so many compliments about the cake!! Not only was it beautiful but it tasted amazing! Almost a week after our wedding I still have guests asking where it came from! They were prompt with all communication and our reception was held somewhere they have never been but they were willing to work with the vendor for an efficient delivery. My only complaint is that they didn't mark down that we ordered the trial cakes. That cost was supposed to come off of the total at the end but they never marked it down and I couldn't find the receipt. It was fantastic though!

Monzu provided the wedding cake for our June 1st wedding reception. We had three different flavors all of which were to-die-for! We received numerous comments on how good our cake was and are still receiving them now that the wedding is over. Jenn proved to be very flexible when I decided to change the design of my cake a month before the wedding; she pulled it off flawlessly! We also rented our cake stand from her which was beautiful. I was very excited to work with Monzu to get my cutting cake for my wedding. I emailed them a month in advance in detail what I was looking for. The email got lost apparently but I was able to get into communication with the baker what I needed. Everything was set, paid for in advance and set a date and time my now husband was going to pick up the cake. Well, when he went to pick up the cake they were not even open even though he was 8 mins late and when they finally unlocked the door they told him they were adding finishing touches. There were no gumpaste flowers that were promised, the fondant tasted old, and the pour our giltter was cracked. It was heartbreaking because I have seen their work before and it was beautiful but this was not Monzu quality that I know of.

We went to our tasting and had a good experience. Decided to put money down to hold our date. After that we didn’t hear from Monzu. Two weeks before our wedding, we went in to schedule our 2 week meeting and was told we should have done that months ahead of time, but we were not aware of that. They accommodated us for a virtual meeting since the only time they had, we were out of town. Things went well going over what we wanted and logistics. Then on the day of the wedding, the person delivering the cupcakes showed up late and after multiple attempts to contact the bakery (which was already closed), the person showed up 45 minutes after the time discussed. We paid for Monzu to put the cupcakes out on the table, but our venues helpers did because of being so late. We were already seating people for dinner. No phone call came back after our wedding in regards of why there was an issue and no notice was given for being late.

I wanted a chocolate cake. The offerings looked amazing! I couldn't wait to have one of this highly-rated bakery's cakes at my mom's 87th / my niece's 16th birthday. It didn't happen. My dad, aged 88, made a nice Pillsbury cake. He's pretty cool that way.
What I got from Monzu Bakery was: An Auto-Reply email stating they were in the wedding season. I have no idea when this season starts, ends or is the busiest. I would think there would be enough people who could also make non-wedding products.
I had written 2-3 days in advance. Maybe too short notice, for which I am at fault. So I tried again, asking for a chocolate cake. I received an actual reply that they could make a cake and offered two choices. By this time, Dad offered up the Pillsbury option.
Very disappointing.
Maybe please advertise when your wedding seasons are, the specific number of days in advance orders need to be in...or advertise as a wedding business? This would be helpful for me. I'll have to try next year!

This is tough to write because we truly had a beautiful day but just a difficult time with this particular vendor. Working with Monzu was difficult from the beginning. We decided early on that we wanted to go with them based on reviews and friends' experiences. We were canceled on for our cake tasting multiple times, including once during the week that we were scheduled. If we lived in town, we would have been happy to be flexible but this really complicated wedding planning for us. Once we finally got the tasting in, we had difficulty communicating with the staff. Multiple messages (email, phone) went unreturned. Finally, we were informed that one of the staff was having a medical emergency. Again, we can certainly understand when emergencies come up but the communication was so poor and at times unprofessional (e.g., getting my name wrong; complaining about my mother, who was trying to meet with them in person since I wasn't getting responses, to me). We ended up having some difficulty communicating right up until the wedding, which I understand may be due to the medical emergency, but I also think a business needs to be able to function when these things come up. The day of our wedding, the cake was the wrong flavor and the flowers we wanted were not on the cake. Our florist acknowledged that he forgot about this but seemed surprised that no one from Monzu had contacted him. I don't hold Monzu accountable for this by any means but I just think they made little effort to go "above and beyond" when a situation called for it. My mom contacted Monzu and Jenn agreed to give a partial refund. Jenn never contacted us to apologize, which again, in my opinion is unprofessional.

After a few days of not getting a response stopped in again and spoke to the staff again stating we placed the order online. Gave the same info as we did online. Was told we be taken care of and that they will get it handled. Stopped back a day before the expected pick-up and treated like we never stopped in. Refused to allow us to speak to the owner and only offered to allow us to buy a cake out of their display case. Sorry but not going to buy something after they failed me.
Now have a special event that was supposed to have the cake as a highlight of the event but now there is nothing.
If a business wants to offer something great and charge a premium price for they should have a competent staff that can organize how to take care of clients.
Be aware if you are going to order from them that you stop in on a daily basis demanding that you are going to be taken care of otherwise you'll end up like our situation of a complete let down.

After a six week wait for a wedding consult and cake tasting we were treated like an interruption and left alone. The air of superiority when you enter the little bakery is swiftly recognized as undeserved upon tasting the sub-par cupcakes they serve in a plastic cup for $5 a piece. Meanwhile in their display case I could’ve paid $2 more to eat a an actual mini cake to my disappointment in the comfort of my own home months earlier. Even if the product was above average the non-existent and down right rude customer service leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. Save your time and skip this spot- the hype over Monzu was not validated in my opinion. Overall we had an unfortunate and slightly stressful/uncomfortable experience in the bakery, driven primarily by the staff member with the green highlights in her hair.
User625262 Sent on 09/15/2011Jennifer did a great job matching my daughter's ideas and her cake designs. We ordered 25 small cakes and one two tiered cake for the head table. The designs were bright and colorful, creating beautiful centerpieces. Jenn made chocolate monograms to top the cakes and used swirls of ribbon to add texture to the four bright cake designs.The flavors were fantastic and our guests had fun sharing with other tables so they could taste all four recipes. The cost of all 26 cakes was very comparable to a large cake, and we didn't need to spend money on other centerpieces.
