Brian was extremely communicative. I wasn't familiar with the Carmel area so he made a few suggestions based on what I was envisioning and we found the perfect spot! He was also very knowledgeable on the timing as well. I suggested evening and he said if I wanted to "seal the marriage with a kiss at sunset 6:30 would be the time" and it was definitely the perfect time! I felt very confident in hiring him to officiate my wedding. I plan on recommending him to a few people I know looking to get married soon. :)

Brian was a fantastic officiant! We really appreciated our in person meetings and the pre ceremony questionnaire. He was easy to schedule and communicate with. We did not have microphones at our small backyard ceremony and he did a great job projecting. He laughed at our lame jokes and I think he especially enjoyed our four legged ring bearer, haha. He also discreetly took aside our witnesses to have our marriage certificate signed after the ceremony, I didn’t even know it was happening, it was great because I was so busy!
I would say his services are a great value for the money, highly recommend!

Amazing Experience with Brian!
Brian was a fantastic officiant throughout the entire process. He was very clear and concise in his communication and always responded quickly.
We eloped in Big Sur and had a small hiccup before our ceremony as our parents got lost and did not have cell service. This set our initial time back by 30 minutes but Brian was incredibly patient and understanding. He was a very calming presence in a stressful situation. During the ceremony, Brian spoke kindly and personably and it was truly beautiful. We opted to do personal vows privately but recited traditional vows. Brian’s delivery and presence created a peaceful and meaningful ceremony that we are so grateful for. We are so glad we chose Brian for the most special moment in our lives and would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

Brian was the man! STAND UP GUY, professional and eased the process of reading our vows for my wife and I as we were already in tears of joy. He was also very accommodating as we changing our meet time from 7:30am to 10am due to cold weather. October Carmel Elopement for 10 people
If you're looking to have a super special, personalized wedding, I highly recommend Elope in Monterey.
I had the best experience working with Brian to plan my October elopement this year. Brian was super personable and communicative prior to the official day, and I always felt like I could reach him if I had any questions. As someone who has no experience with weddings, Brian provided really helpful guidance to create a super personal and special ceremony for us!
Our wedding day was during the peak of a heat wave, so there was unexpected traffic and people at the beach. However, even though we arrived a little late, Brian was already there waiting with our photographer Catherine scoping out the best area to have our ceremony. He was patient and kind as our group of 10 and a baby with very different needs settled onto the beach.
The ceremony itself was wonderful, too! For background, my parents always wanted me to get married in a more formal setting, and were a bit nervous that I found my wedding officiant on the internet :). However, Brian truly wowed my parents and created such a memorable and meaningful ceremony for us.
As someone who always kind of dreaded the overwhelming nature of a wedding, I am especially impressed by how easy Brian made everything including all the paperwork to send our wedding license in. Our wedding day was truly amazing and was everything I could have ever wanted. Thank you again, Brian!

Eloped in Big Sur with a quick ceremony (~15 min) at a cabin. We told Brian we would just do traditional vows and a non-religious script and he delivered a beautiful speech. He was on time, dressed lovely, and very kind in the small time we had together. Forever grateful and would highly recommend!

Lover’s Point Nuptials
After deciding to keep our wedding intimate and simple we found Brian to officiate our ceremony.
In attendance were only a witness and two guests, which allowed for the simplicity of meeting at my favorite place in the world with no formal planning.

My micro wedding exceeded my expectations

Our perfect wedding in Carmel
We were planning our wedding in Carmel from our home in Florida when we heard about Brian Borgia from our photographer Joshua Rose. Brian was so punctual in all of his responses while writing perfect vows for our marriage incorporating our personal touches. He directed us to a location to obtain our marriage license once we arrived in California. Everything was perfectly planned and arranged for our arrival and the entire service, although private, was flawless.

Brian made our wedding ceremony so meaningful and extremely special for us. Talk about the wedding ceremony of the year! All of our guests were blown away with how wonderful Brian beautifully captured our love story. No amount of words can describe how wonderful and incredible of a partner Brian is when it comes to planning for the big day. He was extremely prompt in his email responses (always responded within 24 business hours), provided such wonderful tips, explained the marriage license process thoroughly, and always provided such clear next steps for us to follow. Where do I begin? Our ceremony was so memorable and so beautifully written. My husband and I are not from the area, and Brian made our experience so easy and put us at ease with his professionalism, communication, and his ability getting to know us as a couple. He wrote the most beautiful ceremony that I will never forget. Carmel / Monterrey renewal success!
Through reviews I found a list of Wedding Wire officiants to help narrow my list for a surprise 25th anniversary renewal in the Carmel / Monterrey area. After reading reviews and philosophies, I selected Brian Borgia to help me out. He helped us select a beautiful beach side gondola for a personal renewal. Best officiant ever
Brian Borgia was absolutely amazing from beginning to end! He was so helpful and always responsive (promptly) when I sent him and email as I was figuring things out with our destination wedding. He has a wealth of knowledge for all "wedding information" in the Monterey area and will gladly share this with you. When my husband and I decided to do a "Whole Package" wedding and reception we knew we still wanted Brian to be our officiant no matter what. We already felt that we had a rapport with him and he was the only one we wanted to perform our special ceremony. His questionnaire was very detailed and easy to fill out. This provided him with some good, solid background information to personalize our ceremony just as we wanted. When we met Brian over Zoom (we don't live in the Monterey area), we felt like we already knew him and were old friends. Our wedding day ceremony was incredible...he had everyone in tears (joyful tears) as he told our love story and laughing at just the right moments. He made us feel so comfortable and made it easy for us to get through without getting too emotional. Brian is very flexible, professional, and kind. I know a few of our guests spoke to him afterwards to share their thoughts of his "performance" and were very impressed with him. Everyone that was there shared this same sentiment with us as well, some even multiple times. They told us how beautiful our ceremony was - the words he chose to describe our relationship (past and present) and the way in which he conveyed our story was meaningful and sincere. We could not have asked for a more "PERFECT" wedding ceremony. It was everything we dreamed of and more! Thank you so much Brian!!

Brian officiated our mini wedding at Hyatt Highlands Inn Carmel in June and we were so thankful for his kind presence and expertise! He provided all the information we needed regarding wedding license info, tips and checklists, and was always available via email and zoom. I loved that he set up a zoom meeting a few weeks prior to our wedding so we could do a face-to-face, get to know us, and ask him any last minute questions - especially because we live over an hour away from Carmel! I appreciated how friendly and kind he was with our friends and family. He also works with his wife Heidi who does photography at weddings, but unfortunately she was doing another wedding on our date. I am so happy that Brian was the one officiating our wedding. His speech was perfect, funny, and had everything we wanted to include in a short period of time. He even mailed our wedding license for us and sent us a follow up email with FAQs about how to obtain a copy etc. Thank you Brian for being a part of our wedding journey!!!!!

Amazing Monterey Ceremony!
Brian went above and beyond as our wedding officiant. He really takes the time to understand your personal love story and made our ceremony very memorable. He knows all the right questions to open you up. He made the whole process stress free, which gave us time to focus on writing our vows. When I accidentally said “I do” too early he turned it into a memorable funny moment with a quick joke about my eagerness to be married. Oops!
I would recommend him to all my family and friends in the future.

Best Officiant Ever!
Brian is the best officiant ever! Before we had our ceremony in August, my husband and I decided to get married early in May of this year. Brian was able to meet with us in May, which was very accommodating. During our meeting in May, he also spent some time asking us questions in preparation to make a custom-written ceremony script.
On the wedding day, Brian was very professional and well-spoken. We were happy that he customized our ceremony and many of our friends/family had great things to say about him.

Brian was a great help planning the wedding. He put me in contact with the hotel that hosted the wedding and was always prompt responding to any email communications. Our Perfect Wedding
Brian was a fantastic officiant. We got married at the Tickle Pink Inn in Carmel Heights. Brian communicated several times before the event so we knew exactly what to expect. Excellent Officiant Service
Brian is a very experienced officiant. His calm and confident aura really helped to ease our nerves during the entire ceremony. I'm very grateful that we rehearsed the entire ceremony the day before. During the rehearsal, he explained every step to us in detail, which really helped to prepare us for what was to come.
Due to the concern of covid, we had to reschedule our wedding date twice. Brian was very nice and very flexible in rescheduling. I'm very grateful that Brian took the time to understand our personalities/backgrounds. He did such a brilliant job drafting and presenting our love story during the actual ceremony.
My husband and I initially planned to just read the vows off our phones (noob mistake - obviously none of us had done it before), but Brian wisely suggested that we should have a printed version of the vows and offered to print them out for us.
I'm very grateful to have chosen Brian to be our officiant, as the person that will guide us into the realm of marriage. I would certainly recommend his service to anyone who's looking for an officiant or general wedding planning in the Monterey area.

Big Sur Elopement
Brian was everything we had hoped for. Coming from Virginia to elope in California, my wife and I were unsure of what legal steps to take and locations to check out. Brian was very attentive to our situation and provided thorough answers to all of our questions. He was so helpful!! Even on the day of our ceremony when fog ruined our original spot, Brian was cool calm and collected as we went searching for new locations (went back and forth down the coast about four times and he didn’t complain once). The best officiant in the Monterey Peninsula

We had Brian officiate our wedding on 5/23/21. The package through our venue gave us a few officiants to choose from. But as soon as we first met Brian we knew that he would be a perfect fit. After that we didn’t even bother looking into the other options. From start to finish, everything with Brian was seamless and easy, even in the middle of a pandemic. About a week prior to the ceremony, he emailed us a copy of our ceremony. There were just a few small changes we wanted to make at that time. We let him know, he immediately fixed them, and the updated ceremony was sent back to us and it was everything that we wanted. We had Brian attend our rehearsal (for an extra fee) and are so thankful that he was able to attend. He helped out so much with all of the little details and he made us feel very comfortable going into the ceremony. At the ceremony, there were a few technical difficulties with the microphone. He was so professional about it, spoke up a bit so everyone could still hear, and kept the whole ceremony flowing and moving forward. I would recommend Brian to anyone in the search for the perfect officiant! We are so thankful that we had Brian with us on our special day.

Look no further!!
We hired Brian to be our officiant for our micro-wedding in Carmel Valley, and couldn't be happier with everything he did for us! I was once a wedding planner myself and my husband was an officiant a few years ago, so we both know how important the role of an officiant is for the big day! From start to finish, Brian was the total package in his responsiveness, graciousness, professionalism, thoughtfulness, and, most of all, patience! The ever-fluid county COVID restrictions had us trying to navigate whether we could have a beach ceremony or a ceremony at our rental property, and he kept us calm and in the loop every step of the way. We ultimately had to have the ceremony at our rental property, a "venue" he had never been to, and on top of conducting a beautiful ceremony, he provided the chairs and a beautiful arch with a greenery garland that we ordered this through his recommended floral vendor. I watched him hard at work with a shovel anchoring that arch into the ground while wearing a nice suit, I was thoroughly impressed at all the hard labor he went through while staying cool as a cucumber! He emailed us his final script the week prior and it was perfect, no changes needed to be made! He personalized our ceremony beautifully and included a very touching reading at the end, and our family had many kind remarks about Brian throughout the rest of the wedding weekend! His wife, Heidi, was also our fabulous photographer and the two of them are truly stellar at what they do! Thanks to the both of them for being the best dynamic wedding duo anyone could ask for! :)

Excellent Elopement Service at Big Sur
Brian prepared a wonderful elopement service for our wedding.
With his professional direction we were able to put this together in just three weeks.
Brian worked well with our chosen photographer in providing suggestions for coastal locations to have the service. The questionnaire he gave us provided him with excellent material on which to base our personalized wedding service.
COVID-19 restrictions provided us with a couple of challenges. Brian was able to help us through all these challenges and suggest alternatives.
On the day, Brian's quiet, professional style helped to calm our nerves. His polished service really highlighted the things we were looking for.

Wonderful Officiant!
Brian conducted a beautiful ceremony for our elopement. He was professional, punctual, flexible, and took the worry out of the ceremony for us. Brian let us read the ceremony beforehand and include our own customizations. If we were having a large wedding as originally planned, he would have been great for that too. Very happy we had Brian there!

Absolutely Amazing
Where do I start? I found Brian online, he built a package to my needs, he was attentive and answered all my questions leading up to the event because I was coming in from out of state I feel like I had a lot! We received a few questions beforehand and Brian used it to create a ceremony that was meaningful to us, more importantly Brian was able to get through the whole ceremony without stumbling over our names (Ke’s) which I couldn’t even do when reading it beforehand! Brian was great, professional and I had no doubts walking into the ceremony that everything was going to be perfect and it was!

Excellent Officiant!
Brian was the best officiant that we could ask for. I love how he took the time to get to know us and crafted a very personal ceremony, which took into account how my husband and I met, how we are blending our families, what we love most about each other, and also had a religious touch that we wanted. He was incredibly professional and knew exactly what to do. Throughout the whole process, Brian responded promptly and helped guide us through every detail. Five Stars!

Big Sur elopement

Brian did a great job making our wedding day a special one. Before the wedding, he communicated with my husband and I regularly through email and phone. He gave us reminders and answered all of our questions, even helping us pick a location for the ceremony. On the day of our wedding, he officiated our wedding beautifully and Heidi, his wife was our photographer. Although it's too soon for us to see our wedding photos, I can tell that they will be great because of how knowledgeable Heidi was. I recommend Brian and Heidi to anyone looking to get married in the area.

Brian Borgia is the BEST
Brian officiated our wedding on June, 30 2020. He exceeded our expectations in all ways. Our original plans to have a destination wedding in Europe didn't work out due to COVID19. Brian was able to write our such a beautiful ceremony for us. My husband, myself and our families were completely blown away with how he captured our stories and made our ceremony so personalized. We thank him forever for making our special day so perfect especially on such short notice! I highly recommend to any couple getting married on the Monterey Peninsula. He is the best!

Pastor Brian was excellent to work with. He provided us with a questionnaire that allowed him to get to know us as a couple prior to meeting. Pastor Brian provided us emails with clear direction on what to expect from him and the direction of the service. Pastor Brian also provided follow up after the service to help us ensure we receive our marriage license. I am so thankful for Pastor Brian and his services. Perfect elopement ceremony
Brian was an absolute pleasure to work with. With other officiants I'd met, they wanted to try and rope me in with "packages" that included a lot of extras that I didn't want. Brian listened to what I wanted and delivered perfectly. The ceremony was not quick but still meaningful (per my request), he gave my husband and I privacy to read our vows, and was had a really pleasant demeanor all around. While still honeymooning, my dad was apparently showing off some of our pictures to his coworkers and someone recognized Brian--she also hired him around 5 years ago and also had great things to say! Picture included is from my photographer capturing what he does best in the absence of something to write on!

Our dream day!
Our wedding ceremony was so special and stress free thanks to Brian. Not only did we plan the entire wedding in less than three weeks but that day, we were wrangling 5 kids and with Brian's help, trying to find the perfect spot on the beach. Brian's unflappable demeanor and flexibility was exactly what we needed! Brian created such a beautiful ceremony for us and it was even better than we could have imagined. Sincere and Kind. Gentle and caring.
We are a gay couple from Canada who adore the Central Coast, and wanted to make it the home for our wedding. We didn’t know how to find an accepting and kind officiant and were so lucky to find Brian. He helped us find a beautiful secluded location, he brought some of his own camp chairs to accommodate an abilities issue and being the only other person with us for our elopement sincerely offered us his caring and gentle warm. His respect and appreciation for our love and relationship and his words that were so beautiful and meant much to us, set the tone that captured everything we wanted and needed. We could not have had a more sensitive and beautiful ceremony. Thank you Brian.

From the first time my husband and I met Brian we were extremely impressed. Brian officiated our wedding in Carmel, CA in July 2019. Brian was always responsive, professional and very personable throughout the planning process, rehearsal and the day of. He took the time to understand us as a couple and listen to what we hoped to see in our ceremony, executing it flawlessly. He made us feel comfortable and our ceremony was so special because of him. Mr. Borgia was the officiant for our wedding July 30, 2019 on Monastery Beach. He was so kind, helpful, and very responsive to all emails and questions. We had a destination wedding through Wedgewood Carmel and Brian made it stress free as we were planning from Illinois. He was able to be at our rehearsal and we received lots of compliments on our ceremony. He was able to put our words into a cohesive love story he could share with our guests. Would definitely recommend!!!

Warm, professional and personal wedding officiant
Brian provided a warm, relaxed and touching ceremony for our private (just the two of us) wedding. He was very low-key and professional, while getting to know us enough to add personal touches to his remarks, which is exactly what we wanted. We were so happy with his service, and highly recommend him. As an added bonus, his wife, Heidi, is an excellent photographer and provided stunning photos despite the gloomy weather. They are a great team!

The best officiant!
After spending hours researching officiants near Monterey, CA and considering officiants from Sacramento as well, we've decided to see if Brian was available. We even switched our wedding date just so he can be our officiant -- that's how much I really liked what I saw -- from his web page to his ceremony examples. From his detailed web page, I can tell he was going to be very detailed and informative in other aspects. Brian was very responsive from the very beginning. He was easy going and easy to work with, flexible. Our wedding day was unforgettable and perfect thanks to him! For me -- the ceremony is the most important part, and Brian is the officiant to make that beautiful and perfect!

Best officiant ever!
Brian was simply awesome. After asking a family member to officiate and having them decline (they hadn't done it before and were nervous), we found Brian online and hired him after reviewing his website, which includes pricing and sample ceremony scripts. This was really helpful in deciding whether he would be a fit. In the end I'm so thankful my family member passed on officiating because Brian played a huge role in making our wedding day absolutely perfect. We filled out his wedding questionnaire (which was a fun couples activity in itself), met with him once in-person a month before the wedding to go over additional details, and he sent us the ceremony script for review. It was perfectly lighthearted but thoughtful and written as if he had known us for years. He attended our rehearsal (recommend) and impressed our family and wedding party with his laid-back but professional persona. If you need an officiant in the Monterey area, don't think twice - hire Brian! Thank you for making our wedding ceremony beautiful, Brian!

Amazing Officiant - Brian Borgia
Planning for a wedding is stressful enough and without the proper players, it can turn into a nightmare.
Brian Borgia is amazing in what he does! My fiancee and I did not have a clue on what to do or expect during the ceremony but with Brian's experience he was able to guide us and keep us on track.
First, we scheduled an introductory call where he goes through our needs, wants, and expectations. Since we didn't have much of an expectation he gave us examples and ideas on the ceremonies that he has done in the past. We were bouncing ideas back and forth and he was not just sitting there taking notes instead, he provided his input. He also provided documentation on readings that helped quite a bit.
After the initial phone meeting, we scheduled to meet for an onsite at a hotel in Monterey where we went through the final checklist and interviewed us on details such as how we met, why we can't live without each other and how we see ourselves in the future.
In all, Brian brought us a memorable wedding ceremony which we will treasure in the future. It was beautiful, it was amazing and it was unforgettable. I look forward to our renewal of vows and we will definitely hire his services again.

Amazing Officiant!
Brian was amazing! My husband and I eloped in Garrapata State Park in Big Sur, CA on the side of a cliff. Despite the lack of cell service in the area - which made communicating with each other on the day of the elopement difficult - and the unique location, Brian arrived early. He put together a meaningful and beautiful service that showed just as much care as if 100 people had been in attendance. I highly recommend him!

Thoughtful, prompt and a great personality
Brian was a complete joy to work with! We found him through a suggestion from the venue where we got married, and couldn't have been happier with him. He is accessible and communicative every step of the way, from the initial conversation to after the wedding. He'll work with you to create your ideal ceremony based on what you and your fiancee are dreaming of. Our guests were so impressed with his aura and energy, he added a wonderful touch to our wedding day. Moreover, he clearly explains the (confusing!) marriage license/ceremony process. He made sure we brought our unsigned marriage license to the ceremony, had our witness sign, and promptly mailed it to be processed. After the ceremony, he kindly reminded us that we needed to reach out to City Hall to request the certificate for our records/any name changes. So thoughtful and a joy to work with!
