My husband and I got married at Monte Verde Inn on 7/1/23 and the day went so smoothly. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they’ve been to! We worked with Sydney, the Inn’s coordinator, and she made everything so easy for us! I was worried about planning a wedding up in NorCal while living in SoCal but I believe we chose the perfect venue to do it with. The venue is so beautiful and mostly all inclusive with is very helpful when planning from far away. This also helped me stay pretty unstressed throughout the whole planning process! The venue includes catering, alcohol, cake, reception florals and so much more. The only vendors I had to hire separately were a dj and photographer, and the venue even has recommendations for those vendors which was so helpful. I TOTALLY recommend Monte Verde Inn for your wedding, Sydney and the staff are so kind, helpful, organized, and committed to making your special day one to remember.

I will preface this review by saying that we did not actually get married at the Monte Verde Inn. My wedding was scheduled for September 17, 2022. We booked MVI approximately 1.5 years in advance. We had planning meetings, menu tastings, and plenty of correspondence with MVI staff. About 2 weeks before my wedding, the Mosquito Fire broke out and Foresthill was evacuated. My now-husband and I had to scramble to relocate our wedding to a new venue and all of the headaches and heartbreaks that come with that. Throughout it all, MVI staff, especially our coordinator Sydney Pease, worked their asses off to help us hold a wedding on our originally scheduled date. They essentially provided all of the services we had paid for (food, drinks, linens, event coordination, set up and break down, etc) at our new venue. They worked directly with the new venue once we found it to seamlessly transfer over all of our services. I’m basically in tears writing this, and Sydney and I cried together on several phone calls and on my wedding day. They didn’t have to do what they did for my husband and I, but they did everything in their power to turn around a horrible situation. I would have loved to have gotten married at MVI. The property is stunning. But I am so grateful that I got to work with MVI staff on my wedding in the face of circumstances beyond all of our control. Needless to say I have nothing but good things to say about this venue and their staff.

Our family had a lovely time at this venue. The coordinator was on top of her game, the suites provided for the bridal party were beautiful, the food was delicious - we had a fantastic vow renewal celebration and were treated well!
Now, if we can just locate the photographer who has run off with full payment and not delivered photos of the event, all would be good in the world.

MVI gave us the best day ever. Everything was absolutely perfect! Lexi is the mastermind behind it all and she ensures everything runs smoothly and she really thinks of everything down to the smallest of details. She is very easy to communicate with and was honestly there every step of the way, including the entire day/night of our wedding. We live out of state so the fact that they take care of most everything helped immensely. The venue is beautiful and intimate. We got married at the end of August and my biggest concern was the heat. It was a warm day, but by the time the ceremony it had really cooled down and was not bad at all. We still can’t stop talking about the day and we are so glad we chose MVI! Thank you Lexi & the entire staff!!

Our son was married here on 7/06/19. It was over the top AMAZING! Hard to know where to start. But Lexi, the coordinator, is the obvious choice! She's a great communicator, she's very organized, she's on top of every little thing and she has a LOT of experience doing what she does. She's also knowledgeable and entertaining about human nature and gives great direction throughout the event. Next, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It's romantic, intimate (1 event per day) , clean, convenient (10 min east of Auburn) right off a very modern expressway. The backdrops there are STUNNING for your pictures. The price is excellent for what you get (all inclusive with delicious food, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, flowers and cake!) The florist is top notch who provides the venue flowers, the cake from the designated bakery is delicious, the FOOD is very good! The atmosphere and layout of the venue is very fun and beautiful. You cannot go wrong having your wedding here!

I loved the Monte Verde Inn. It was gorgeous. Perfect setting for a wedding especially in the summer. Lexi, the coordinator, did an amazing job setting everything up and fulfilling our vision. She made wedding planning so easy.

Absolutely everyone should get married at Monte Verde Inn. I have literally never written an online review for anything in my life, but I feel this strongly about Monte Verde that I had to write one!
It was the most perfect day. Not only are the grounds beautiful, but Lexi, the coordinator, is amazing. There was not a single thing she didn't think of or have completely covered. She planned and executed what was, hands down, the best day of my life. She was very personable, friendly, and attentive to every single detail. She went above and beyond in every single way. Get married here, you won't regret it, I promise!! :)

My husband and I had our wedding here 8/4/18. It's hard to describe how perfect of a day it was. The venue is gorgeous and well maintained by the staff. It was the perfect setting for our special day. I cannot describe how painless the planning process was with Lexi (coordinator). Everything is laid out very plainly and you can decide from there. But it is also as customizable as you could want. She is flexible and accommodating when need be, to ensure your wedding is exactly how you want it. The way they do their pricing makes it easy to understand where your money is going and the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. The food was excellent. The cake from Divine Desserts was incredible, honestly the best cake I've ever had. People raved and almost all of it got eaten! The flowers were gorgeous. Everything turned out better than what I had anticipated. It was a completely stress-free day for me, I am sure thanks to Lexi's hard work at keeping any issues away from me. There is nothing I would change about their process, it truly guarantees you have the wedding of your dreams.

The experience that we had at Monte Verde was completely beyond words. Lexi made our wedding so simple and was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. She made sure that everyone knew what they needed to be doing (we did have some rowdy groomsmen :)) and everything went off exactly as it was supposed to. This was the perfect venue and perfect day. Thank you to all of the staff at MVI and I so highly recommend them for anyone looking for an intimate, beautiful venue in the Northern California foothills!

The Monte Verde Inn is a beautiful venue. They are so accommodating and easy to work with. They take care of the set up and tear down, the food, alcohol, and more. The venue is also super accommodating if you would like to provide your own personal items for decorations, etc. They made our wedding day perfect. We used a lot of their preferred vendors, which made the day even easier. The wedding coordinator, Tina, was so helpful before and during the wedding. I am so happy we chose this venue. Our wedding was in early October. The leaves were just starting to change colors, and the weather was perfect. I have also attended a beautiful wedding there as a guest in June. You can't go wrong with this venue!

We had our dream wedding this past September at Monte Verde Inn! We couldn't have imagined a more special day and location. The venue is absolutely beautiful and all our guests had an amazing time. You get a little bit of everything at this location- big trees, rustic inn and gardens. Tina and her staff made the planning easy and fun! The all inclusiveness of the venue (food, flowers, cake, tables, chairs, linens) was an added bonus. The day of, Tina, kept us all on time and made sure everything went off with out a hitch. Dinner was amazing and everyone raved about how good everything was! I highly recommend this venue to anyone!

The Monte Verde Inn is a fabulous venue to have your Wedding. The grounds are breathtaking and the Inn is charming and so romantic.

Our Wedding Coordinator, Tina White was simply amazing. She is organized, professional and extremely detailed. We enjoyed working with Tina and feel that she was a huge reason our wedding was so successful.

Monte Verde Inn was an absolutely amazing venue. The ease of having everything included took a lot of the weight off my husband and I. On top of that, the location was perfect. We decided to have our wedding in the fall, and the changing of the colors made for great photos. Tina (Wedding Coordinator) was super helpful. Not only did she answer every question I had, she got back to be quickly, she coordinated things for me, she and her team setup all of our wedding decor and signs on the day of, and she made sure everything ran smoothly. Having her throughout the process and on the day of, allowed for my husband and I to just enjoy our day with our family and friends. I couldn't have picked a better venue.

We loved Monte Verde Inn from the moment we set eyes on the place. Tina, the coordinator, cinched the deal! The fact that it was an inclusive venue that took care of flowers, cake, catering, drinks etc made it an even simpler choice. We knew we wanted an outdoor venue and given our wedding date in October it was a bit of a risk but everything went simply amazing. We were very pleased with the fact that they take care of all the small details. We loved how organized everything was so we didn't have to worry about a thing the day of. The staff was timely in responding to questions during the planning process. Tina coordinated with the all the other vendors and took care of the timeline as well. The day of, the flowers were just what we asked for, all the decorations were done exactly right and the food turned out amazing. All our guests commented on how beautiful everything looked and how great all the staff were. The venue itself is awesome but it's the great staff that made our day just perfect! I would definitely recommend this venue for a beautiful and stress free experience.

When Steve, my husband, and I first met with Tina, Monte Verde's coordinator, we knew we had chosen the perfect venue. Tina made the planning process quick, simple, and extremely organized. Her acute attention to detail was phenomenal. She put our minds at ease any time we had questions or concerns. Paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves, we were on a tight budget and Tina worked with us to make our wishes a reality. Though we weren’t able to get married outside under the trees due to rain, Tina, the staff, and my florist, Blooms By Martha made sure to decorate the ballroom as if they were bringing the forest indoors. With the abundance of fresh garland, flowers, and candles, the space was magical. From the staff to the event space itself, Monte Verde was the perfect location for our elegant wedding in the woods.

Words can not discribe how amazing this venue was. The professionalize and utter kindness of Tina started a year a half ago when we first booked Monte Verde Inn for our wedding. Tina treated me and everyone that knew me, like we all were apart of her family. And every time we communicated, whether it's in person or just by phone or email, she made me feel like the only bride on the planet; her dedication to her career truly shows in everything she does. She is an excellent communicator and is always punctual! Tina and all of her staff was so perfectly orchestrated the entire day of our wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone for any event.....weddings especially. If you read this Tina & staff, thank you so much for making our wedding day beyond of expectations...it was the best day of our life and I owe a lot of that to all your hard work to make our day beautiful!!

Tina and her staff at The Monte Verde Inn were and are amazing!!! My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams in a romantic, intimate, and breathtaking setting. More than a dozen people have told us that our wedding was by the far the best they've been to. We keep hearing "Everything was perfect" "the food was great!" and "It seemed so seamless and well coordinated" I had little to no stress throughout the whole process since The MVI takes care of everything for you. All we had to worry about was hiring a DJ, photographer, and florist (only for personal flowers, the MVI takes care of all of your centerpieces).

The only regret we have is that we can't do it all over again. I give my highest recommendation to any couple who is thinking about picking the MVI as their venue.

I would recommend the Monte Verde Inn to absolutely anyone. Kelli and Tina were amazing and helped guide us every step of the way, they were extremely responsive to the many, many questions I had to ask (both by phone and by email), and they made our special day everything we could have asked for and more.

The best thing about this venue is that everything is included - the food, alcohol, wedding cake, linens/tables/chairs/place settings, and the best part was having Kelli and Tina coordinate everything to make sure it went as planned. They also worked with my florist and DJ to make everything come together the way my husband and I had hoped for.

I sincerely appreciated the little touches that the Monte Verde Inn put on our special day - two really stuck out in my mind. The first one came immediately after our ceremony - the Inn calls it "7 minutes in heaven" where it's just you and your significant other in a room all by yourself for 7 minutes. They provide champagne and a plate of your chosen appetizers for you to enjoy your first moments of marriage together. It was an incredible moment to share together and I'll never forget it. The second was at the end of our wedding - after the last dance we were having a send off through the crowd and off in to our limo, but I wanted more than anything to see my mom and dad before we left for the evening so I asked my sister to make sure they were around. Unbeknownst to me this was already well coordinated by the venue. They brought my husband and I into the Inn and both sets of parents were waiting to tell us goodbye. It was an extremely special moment and I appreciated the thought that went into having this already coordinated as it was not something I obviously had thought about ahead of time.

The all-inclusive format, the well thought-out small details, the experience, and not having to worry about anything on your big day are why I would highly recommend the Monte Verde Inn to anyone.

I've been meaning to write this review for a month now! My husband and I got married at Monte Verde Inn on August 13. Tina and her staff couldn't have been more amazing. Everything was superb - from our initial meeting and walking around, to the planning and organization and down to every last detail... I honestly could not have picked a more perfect place to get married, (and I'm extremely picky!!) You can tell Tina truly enjoys what she does. She has such a kind, calm, and genuine demeanor about her... something like planning a wedding can be extremely stressful, but she made everything flow so smoothly and always had a smile on her face. The venue itself is just stunning - there's something magical about Monte Verde Inn. Everywhere you look is a beautiful photo op - and I am STILL receiving compliments from our guests on what a beautiful wedding we had. You would be ever so lucky to get married at Monte Verde - don't hesitate to call and make an appointment! And to Tina and her staff: THANK YOU again for everything you did; our day was so special and we are so pleased with all you do.

We were guests at a wedding on September 4th. What an amazing venue. The service was great. The food was really good we had both beef and fish. Well cooked and tasty. Employees were professional but not stuffy. I don't know about the value but I know the bride and groom a valu conscience. Absolutely beautiful space. And we didn't get to see the inside or the barn. Loved it.

Monte verde inn is an all inclusive venue for events. They provide the food, decorations, flowers, coordinator and reception site. Many people do not quite understand how amazing an all inclusive site truly is. For a bride like I was, trying to plan a wedding in two months, having no experience with planning a wedding Monte verde and the coordinator Tina were an absolute godsend. They handled everything in such a way that planning my wedding in such a short time turned into a dream. They were professional, efficient and creative. They took my ideas and turned my day into a magical experience. I could not have asked for a better place to have my wedding. The day of was so stress free, everything came off without a hitch. I can not imagine a better place for a wedding than Monte Verde. I would recommend it to anyone who is planning a wedding. The surroundings are stunning and the venue site itself is magical. I am so thankful I went with this venue for my wedding.

My husband and I cannot say enough nice things about the staff and location at the Monte Verde Inn. Our wedding there on 6/25/16 was a dream come true and one of the happiest days of our lives. The entire planning process with the inn was seamless and their staff are so caring and professional. Although they have so much experience and host weddings on a regular basis they made us feel so special and that our wedding was personalized to us. Tina was our main contact and on-site coordinator and she was kind, responsive, and so professional in how she kept everything organized and on track both the day of our wedding and all of the months leading up to it. Throughout our planning process she was responsive whenever we had questions and made all the work that goes into wedding planning smooth and fun. Many of our guests also told us how much they loved the location and it was wonderful to have our special day held at such a beautiful and private setting.

I live in the Los Angeles area so planning from far away was a challenge. I wanted a wedding venue that was full-service so I could worry about as few moving parts as possible, and they definitely were! Tina let me have items delivered to the inn before the wedding and held onto them for me, and made herself available to meet the couple of days I was in town in the year or so before the big day. She also recommended an AMAZING local florist (O'Shay's) and worked with them to do our table pieces.

Our wedding was scheduled for late April, and considering the weather in the El Dorado region it was a bit of a risk to have it outdoors. Of course we got married on the one day it rained.. and not only did it rain, it hailed during our ceremony! The staff at the Monte Verde Inn were so helpful and accomodating, and offered to move everything indoors and provide umbrellas for our guests at the last minute.

Everything turned out so beautifully, and people are still talking about our romantic wedding in the mountains. Plus, this place is the most incredible backdrop for wedding photos! Amazing forest scenery? Check! Beautiful historic building? Check! Grand ballroom? Check! We didn't even use the barn and vinyard they have, but those are options, too.

We looked all over for the perfect venue for our wedding. We fell in love at first sight with Monte Verde! This venue is not only beautiful but the service you will receive is priceless! From the first showing of the venue throughout the planning process Tina made everything so stress free and seamless!! We had so many people asking us if we were stressed during the planning process and we honestly had nothing to stress about because booking at this venue was the best decision we ever made! We highly recommend if you are looking for a stress free experience then you should book this venue. If we had to book our wedding all over again it would be here!!

Tina did a fantastic job on my wedding day. We were having the issue of rain( i was suppose to have an outdoor wedding) I requested the red curtains that they can hang outside but when it came to time it didn't look like we would be having the wedding outside. Tina actually found a way to move the red curtains inside and it looked amazing. Tina did everything she could to make sure my wedding day was perfect. If I needed another event done I would totally go back there.

Monte Verde Inn is not only an amazingly beautiful location, the top notch staff made our wedding day super special. Tina is did such a great job coordinating and making sure things ran smoothly. The food was delicious and the staff accommodated all our DIY decorations. (We had a ton) They worked extremely well with our other vendors and really take the lead in helping you plan your special day. Our day could not have been any better. It was absolutely beautiful.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get married in the area.

I can not thank Tina and all her professional staff enough for making my wedding day absolutely PERFECT! Everything was just the way I imagined it would be, from the food and cake flavors, to the decor, to the customer service for our guest. They were so easy to work with! I never once had to stress about my wedding because they literally took care of EVERYTHING from providing the cake, open bar, center piece flowers with candles, gift table decor, cake table decor... To lining the bridal party up and telling us when to walk down the aisle. And anything I wanted extra, they set up and tore everything down. All I had to do was load it in the car the next morning after a delicious breakfast they prepared for my family. Absolutely amazing venue and staff! Thanks again Tina for making our day perfect!

we looked long and hard for a venue that both fit our budget and our style, monte verde was unmatched by any other venue. The moment we drove in we knew it was our dream venue. The grounds are breathtaking and combine vintage, and elegant charm. Kelly and Tina were both beyond helpful in helping our vision come to life. To say they are organized and efficient is an understatement. I knew that I wouldn't have to worry about anything with them, and our day went seamless. Being that it's primarily all-inclusive, one might think that it limits your vision and creativity, but that is not the case with this venue at all. Kelly is able to get to the core of how you want your dream day to look and feel and work with you to make sure it comes to life. Her husband, Doug, makes the best food ever! My grandma who was in the catering business for over 40 years said this was the best wedding buffet she has ever had, which is quite a statement given that she is extremely picky. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the venue was, how elegant and intimate it was, and that it felt timeless. The team works tirelessly to make sure every detail goes smoothly. We can't imagine having spent our special day anywhere else. I would highly recommend this venue to anybody regardless of size, budget, or vision. If there was a 6 star option I would choose that without hesitation.

The Monte Verde is the best Venue around. It is beautiful, intimate and the food is awesome. The service was first class from Kelly and her staff. They really made you feel like you didn't need to worry about a thing, which was super comforting. Our wedding was perfect and everyone loved the venue. One of my favorite parts was the seven minutes in heaven where me and my husband sat at our own personal table in the beautiful ballroom by ourselves, and were served all of our H'ourderves and a glass of champagne. It was so intimate and special!

The Monte Verde Inn was the first and only venue that my now-husband and I looked at. We had found it online and seen all sorts of photos and as soon as we saw it in person we knew we didn't need to look anywhere else. My coworker had also gotten married there and spoke very highly of her experience. It is an absolutely beautiful place. The big beautiful redwood trees to provide a canopy over the outdoor ceremony site/dancefloor had me swooning. There are so many different background options for photos too. From the vineyard, to the beautiful old inn, to the fountain, to the tree lined path, and so many more.

Kelly and her team at the MVI are so wonderful to work with. She is an absolute professional and I felt completely comfortable in her hands. She is quick to respond to emails and happily answered any and all questions I had. Working within our somewhat modest budget was never an issue either. She takes away the need for a wedding planner, especially a day-of-coordinator - which is a huge cost-saver and stress reliever. Everything that is included in the cost - dinner, cake, drinks, chairs and tables, table linens, most of the flowers, etc. make it a great value. It may sound more expensive, initially, but when you add up the cost of getting all of those things from individual vendors (especially unforeseen costs like cake serving or having a plated dinner vs buffet), you realize you are saving a lot of money, and a lot of hassle! Which is exactly what I wanted, so that I could stay as stress-free as possible!

The day of the wedding couldn't have run more smoothly. I didn't have to worry about a thing! And someone from her team was always there to make sure I had anything I needed, from a sip of water, to a glass of champagne :) And the food! Kelly's husband, Doug, is a professional chef and cooks the best wedding food you will ever taste! We received so many compliments on what a beautiful, magical, wonderful wedding it was and we couldn't agree more!

Working with Kelly at Monte Verde Inn was easy and fun! She actually spoke to you like a normal person and didnt sugar coat anything! As the bride everyone is afraid to tell you "No" or give you any bad news but Kelly gave it to me straight. The day before my wedding she was watching the weather, she pulled me and my new husband aside and gave us the plan B. We had planned for an outside ceremony and reception but that wasnt looking like it was going to happen. She knew how bad we wanted to get married outside under her beautiful arbor and great big redwood trees that she held out hope and still set up for an outside ceremony. We knew an outside reception was out of the picture due to the rain that was forecast-ed.

Luckily the rain stopped for the ceremony and we even got some sun that peaked out. It lasted until the dinner was served so thank you weather and thank you Kelly and the Monte Verde Inn team for making everything go smoothly.

Now we planned for an outside reception but let me tell you that reception inside was amazing! We were all warm and the inn was set up beautifully! All the flowers from the ceremony outside were brought in and filled the Inn with color and life. The lighten was romantic and Kelly and her team set up the tables perfectly.

I love this venue and the Monte Verde Inn Team. The bar tenders were a crack up and all the guests liked talking to them.

Rain or Shine this is the most beautiful venue!!!

Everything came to life even more beautifully then I could have imagined when we originally planned them. We were even surprised to see the detail she put into our candy bar, utilizing Matt’s and my common bond of soccer (chocolate mini-soccer balls). Too cute! In addition, a fabulous member of the Monte Verde Inn staff stayed along my side throughout the wedding and was helping me fluff my dress for photos, touch up my lip gloss, bustle my dress, provide me with a spare pair of shoes to dance the night away and before I could even say I was thirsty, she was there with a glass of water and champagne. Talk about service!

My wife and I chose to be married at The Monte Verde Inn, in large part, because they are extremely LGBTQ friendly! What we were hoping for was an affirmative marriage equality wedding venue where we could start our new life together as wife and wife with our family and friends in attendance. What we got was so much more and beyond our expectations. Choosing the Monte Verde Inn is among the top best decisions we have ever made and were married there in May of 2014. We knew, from the moment we met with Kelly, that we were truly working with the best of the best. Our guests continue to remark on the perfection of our special day, from the gorgeous design of the venue itself, the stunning mountain greenery that surrounds the estate, the detail on each table, the work of art in the cake and the superb, five stars worthy cuisine prepared by the incredibly gifted chef, Douglas Dalisa. You will not experience such exquisite food at any other wedding venue in our experience. Each of these could easily stand on their own merit for a review, but combined, they are simply perfection. Kelly and her team did not miss a single detail in the creation of our dream wedding…and I mean, NOT A SINGLE DETAIL! I could write pages on this without exaggeration. Kelly and her team took our vision as outlined in the planning meeting and turned it into an incredible fairytale-like reality. Our vision for the alter decorations was delivered to perfection with fabric cascading onto the steps beside us. The event was planned and fulfilled well beyond our hopes and expectations as was the entire design and timing sequence of the event. We did not have to worry or think about a single thing on our wedding day, except for the joy and happiness we felt. The entire day unfolded with precision and dedication to flawless and meticulous beauty and grace. Kelly and her team were there to assist us and guide us through the entire event. True Professionals!

We were married at the Monte Verde Inn in May 2014. It is a spectacularly beautiful venue. A shady grove ringed by huge pines doubled as both our ceremony site and dance floor. The inn is beautiful with an elegant, airy ballroom; late May in California being what it is, however, we opted for ceremony, dinner, and reception all outdoors, and the venue accommodated that perfectly without any interruption to the festivities.
Owners Kelly and Doug put immense care into every aspect of each wedding. Their attention to detail is unheard of, and they ask every question they need to make sure every part of your day goes smoothly. One of the biggest advantages of this venue is the sheer amount that is included in-house: dinner, dessert, drinks, table decorations, most flowers, setup and cleanup. All this makes it a very good value and low hassle—the latter was important to us as we live on the East Coast and didn't want to deal with a ton of different vendors and logistics to work out. The great food is made on site using fresh seasonal ingredients. Our cake was both beautiful and delicious. Monte Verde Inn also has longstanding working relationships with an excellent DJ, several photographers, florist, officiants, etc., so planning was as painless as can be expected!
As we were planning our wedding from afar, it was important to us that the venue be easy to reach when we had questions or needed planning guidance, and Monte Verde exceeded expectations. Not only do they answer emails promptly and thoroughly, but Kelly was always happy to help me over the phone with advice for making arrangements that worked with our needs and budget. For example, when we expressed concern about the price of a charter bus to shuttle guests from their hotel in Auburn, Kelly did some research, called us back and pointed us toward a school bus rental, which proved to be a very affordable and fun option!
On the whole, we can't rave enough about the Monte Verde Inn and its staff and owners!

We cannot say enough good things about Monte Verde Inn. They helped provide us with the best day of our lives. People always say something goes wrong on your wedding day. Not at MVI. Kelly and her team ensure that everything goes smoothly. They tell you where to be and when and control the flow of the day so you as the bride and groom have nothing to worry about. We got to enjoy our entire day stress free. Their organization was well noted by all our guests, and we were so appreciative that we got to sit back, relax, and enjoy.

The natural beauty of the venue is a sight to behold. We kept our decorations minimal so that we could enjoy the natural beauty of the venue. We got married at the end of June, but the grounds were green and lush. The redwood canopy surrounding the ceremony site/dance floor was absolutely breathtaking and attributed to many beautiful photos.

The food was out of this world, and the cake was too! The meat was tender and juicy unlike most wedding food. It was almost like the cook had to cook for only 5 people instead of 110. Every bite was delectable!

Any bride who books here is a lucky bride. Best day of my life!

My husband and I just got married at the Monte Verde Inn and couldn't be any happier with our venue choice. Everything turned out beautifully and surpassed my expectations, which were already high to begin with after reading so many positive reviews. We had to move our reception indoors as the weather was not cooperating (which i was so worried about!) however Kelly made sure everything worked out and the decorations in the dining room turned out amazing! Oh and I can't forget... the food and our cake were so delicious! Everyone was raving about the food, the venue itself, and the exceptional service. I would choose this venue again in a heartbeat.

I cannot say enough amazing things about monte verde inn or Kelly, the venues owner. After many unhappy site inspections around California, we found thee perfect place in Monte Verde Inn. From the multitude of dinner options, to designing my perfect and ideal wedding cake ( which Kelly does herself!) and bringing in beautiful flowers for the reception. PERFECT.

My husband is in the military and nailing down an date is not an easy task. Monte verde went above and beyond to make thing work for us with in reason. She know what works and he's doesn't and had great ideas. We had a winter wedding so the ceremony was outside and dinner/ reception inside. The ceremony was timed perfectly and Kelly, the owner, was able to be my 2 year old flower girl down the aisle with out a hitch. We had a plated dinner and not only was the food perfect but all 63 people were served in a timely manner.

I had my dream wedding at the Monte Verde Inn this past November. If you are looking for a beautiful, serene place to get married, Monte Verde Inn is the choice for you. Not only was this place beautiful, Kelly and her staff was amazing. Let's just say, if anything went wrong on my wedding day, my husband and I have NO knowledge of it. The whole day was flawless. The other awesome thing about the Monte Verde Inn is they are almost ALL inclusive--yes that means they work with preferred vendors, but guess what?!? They work with the BEST vendors in northern California--and yes, their preferred vendors were 100% affordable.
We had a perfect day in November...we got married outside and had our reception inside. The service was amazing. As we were getting ready, Kelly's staff would periodically check on us and ask us if we needed anything. After we were announced husband and wife and made our way down the aisle, Kelly was at the end with champagne for us. Kelly and her staff ALWAYS had a drink in our hands--we felt like royalty. The food was phenomenal!!!! That is one thing that people keep saying, "The food at your wedding was incredible." And, yes it was for sure, thanks to Kelly's amazing husband, Doug. The cake was gorgeous...Kelly took a black and white photo of a cake I liked and recreated it in a way I never thought possible. The entire wait staff was friendly and efficient.
From the moment our bridal party arrived until the time we left, we were treated amazingly. It was by far the best place we could have chosen to get married. Also...we just got our photos back from our photographer and oh my gosh...the grounds of the Monte Verde Inn are like art.

The Monte Verde Inn is where every bride dreams of getting married. From the moment I arrived, I knew this is where I where I wanted to get married. From the beautiful gardens to the rustic Inn it was perfect. Monte Verde also takes the wedding experience to the next level by being an all-inclusive venue that includes food, alcohol, a custom-made wedding cake, floral decor for the tables and wedding planning services. The owner, Kelly Dalisa and her staff Lindsay and Megan took care of us from day 1. We were invited to a wonderful open house where we got to sample just about everything they offer along with cake tasting. ALL of the food was delicious! Through the remaining wedding preparations, Kelly and staff were prompt and helpful for questions we had and offered us tips and advice as we finished planning. On the big day, we were greeted with smiles, champagne and snacks as we all got settled in. They were there to take care of us and helped us with anything we needed as we got ready for the big moment. The ceremony went perfect and Kelly greeted us and our bridal party with more champagne and hors d'oeurves as we snapped more photos after. I never had to ask where I should be for the rest of the evening. Kelly, Lindsay and Megan all kept us on task and my champagne glass full. Dinner was AMAZING! Everyone raved about the food and the wonderful portion sizes. Our wedding cake was gorgeous and exactly what I asked for was simply the best wedding cake I've ever had. People ask me if there is anything I would change and my answer never falters. No. I wouldn't change a thing. It was the best day of my life and all the planning, sweat and tears (of joy!) were all worth it. I've had friends spend much more than us on a wedding and only get a fraction of what we got. The level of professionalism, hospitality and care we received from the Monte Verde Inn was worth much more than we spent. I cannot thank them enough for making my wedding absolutely perfect!

Monte Verde Inn was wonderful. They made my wedding day flawless. They responded to questions very quickly and gave us so many options. They were incredibly professional and were flexible throughout the whole process. The food was amazing and the grounds were beautiful. Dream come true! Kelly and her team are so sweet and quick to respond to any questions. She brainstorms with each couple to make sure that nothing is over looked. The grounds are breathtaking and there are so many spots for photos so that you don't have the same background for every picture. The website alone brought me to tears...yes, it's that beautiful! The service staff keeps everything moving and made us feel like celebrities! I didn't have an empty glass all night!

The food is gourmet all the way! The BEST wedding food and in fact some of the best food period! My guests couldn't get enough and I've had people tell me they dreamed about the food we had! My cousin is a chef and even he complimented us on the food. We had a plated meal and every guest had warm food. We have all been that last table to get to eat and had cold "left-overs". Not here! No way!

Kelly makes the cakes herself and they are both beautiful & tasty! Unique designs and flavors are available. All of the decor and tables/linens are provided. This place is high class in every way! They even provided a few things that I wasn't aware of...a basket of flip flops on the dance floor and a lovely spread of cheese, crackers, and grapes in the bridal suite while dressing. This is a one stop shop that goes the extra mile to make it an elegant affair to remember. My 89 year old great-uncle praised us for having the best wedding he's ever attended. That says it all!

Words could never describe how dedicated, caring, talented and amazing the entire staff at Monte Verde Inn are. From the detailed and flexible planning process, the wedding  rehearsals efficiency, the incredible cuisine and truly personal attention at every step of the way, Monte Verde Inn is real gem.      Thank you especially to the 'master of ceremonies' Kelly Dalisa. She listens to your requests and executes them with absolute perfection. Her entire staff, especially Megan ( who was on hand the entire time) and the calm and cool Lindsey are phenomenal.   
     The venue, let me just say, magical! It was the perfect combination of a charming B&B, a mountain sanctuary and an enchanted forest! The grounds are perfectly manicured and make for outstanding photographs! The gorgeous grove of trees that the ceremony took place in was straight out if a fairy tale. 
     One of the best things about Monte Verde inn, besides the staff was the 'all inclusive' feeling it provided. For a bride to sit down at one meeting and decide on the cake, center pieces, food, table linens, cocktails, wine list and then some, was a dream come true. Kelly was so accommodating and very flexible. Her husband, the talented chef even let me create my own halibut dish....which brings me now to...the FOOD!
    The chef, Doug, Kelly's talents husband is a genius. Every last morsel of food was exquisitely presented, flavorful and absolutely delicious. I am a bit of a 'foodie' and boy was I impressed! The  duck egg roles ( my personal favorite) and the freshest raw seafood bar were some of the highlights from cocktail hour. The main dishes were perfectly cooked and unbelievably delicious! For people who truly appreciate good food, this is a winner for you!! The wedding cake (designed by no other than Kelly) was gorgeous and so divine! Every last bit of the meal was perfection. 
    If I could get married all over again I wouldn't think twice about choosing Monte Verde Inn!

They made it very easy. Kelly is amazing and helped us with whatever we needed. Every guest complimited the food, the cake, and the venue. The food was 5 star, not your average wedding food. The cake was made my the owner Kelly and it looked as good as it tasted. She kept us on time without feeling rushed. When my bustle broke she was there to help fix it. They go out of their way to make the bride and groom happy. I didn't have to lift a finger everything was done for us. The staff is very organized and helpful. This venue is beautiful. I would tell anyone interested in this venue to do it. This place is worth every penny!

I love the Monte Verde Inn! The setting is gorgeous. When I was browsing venues online, I found the Inn and was hooked immediately. Kelly is so helpful and sweet, and her husband cooks the MOST delicious food I have ever tasted! The package deal they provide is such a time saver, I loved that all I had to do was provide a photographer, dj, and ceremony flowers. They did the rest, and they did it perfectly!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Monte Verde Inn. Kelly and her crew made my wedding day spectacular. My husband and I are currently living out of state for my job and I needed a place in California that would take care of all the hassle for me. Kelly completely took the hassle out of wedding planning. She listened to my budget needs and referred me to vendors within my price range as far as officiants and flowers. They take care of venue, food, drink, wedding cake, and all of the floral arrangements except for the wedding party flowers. Also if you want a place to stay after the wedding you can rent the Inn for a reasonable price. We did not do this, but I imagine it would be great.
With regards to actual venue, it is truly a beautiful spot to marry whether you want an indoor or outdoor wedding. We got married at the end of Feb. and there were concerns for a major winter storm to hit the area, but everything went without a hitch. And the snow that did fall made for amazing pictures! As for the food, I cannot say enough about it. I still marvel at the wedding cake and how delicious it was. Kelly makes some of the most beautiful wedding cakes I have ever seen. This place is definitely a great and memorable place to wed.

This wedding venue is fantastic! They took care of everything. As the day got closer I was freakin out and trying to make sure that everyhthing was going the way it was supposed to. Kelly and Annette reassured me that things were going to be great, and of course they were right. That day was amazing and I wouldn't have changed anything. They run the place efficiently and professionally and the food was amazing. All our guests could not stop talking about how wonderful the wedding was all because of the Monte Verde team.

This was the most beautiful spot. My fiancee and I had heard about from our friends whose parents had their vows renewed here. When we went to check it out, we were stunned. It was so great we booked it and ended up having our wedding there!! We loved the feel and the environment of this place. It wasn't exactly close to where we live, but when our guests saw how gorgeous it was it was all worth it. We were blown away by the professionalism of the employees and they are so kind. They work so hard to ensure a great day and "happily ever after" while you are there. I hope people enjoy this place as much as me and my husband did!!

They took care of everything and teh food...WOW...amazing. My wedding was scheduled to be outside, but just my luck...rain! Kelly and staff transformed the wedding from outdoors to indoor in a matter of days and I didn't have to woory about a thing except be sad that it was indoors....but wow it was beautiful and all my guests we comfortable! This place was amazing!

Kelly and Doug (Owners) are amazing. They helped me plan my event from start to finish. THe venue is beautiful and the Inn is worth every penny. They take care of food, flowers, and the cake. As a busy bride the only things I had to worry about were the photographer, DJ and my own personal flowers. Thats it. We even spent the night and had breakfast the next morning at the Inn. My wedding was smooth and stress free, I even got to enjoy the dinner (lots of couples don't)The Inn is beautiful even during the winter when all the tree's leaves are gone. If I had it to do all over again I would definitely go with the Monte Verde Inn again!

The Inn is owned and run by a husband and wife team. The Inn provides a gorgeous location for your ceremony and reception. The grounds are perfect for an intimate outdoor affair with lush greens, trees and flowers. The Inn is a full service location providing the linens, tables/chairs, wonderful food, table center pieces & other decorative flowers (in flowers that coordinate to your wedding colors) AND they even provide your wedding cake! The food is WONDERFUL and you have your choice of several meal/beverage packages as well as cakes to choose from. The Inn also provides the perfect area for the wedding party to get ready for the event as well as rooms to stay in after the wedding. We had our wedding on a Friday night (rates are less expensive on weekdays). It was perfect weather and everything went off without a hitch! After we ate, drank and danced the night away and the guest went home, they Inn arranged for us to open gifts and relax in our pj's with the remaining wedding party. We drank wine (or beer) and opened some gifts and talked about the amazing night we just had. I give the Monte Verde Inn my highest reccomendation!

What a wonderful venue ran by the right professionals to make this an enjoyable event!! This is a husband and wife ran bed and breakfast that is a full service venue... They provide catering, cake, onsite coordination, table arangements and all the tables, chairs, etc. With all this in mind the food and cake are wonderful. On our wedding day my husband and I were able to spend time with our guests rather than worry about all the small details that the staff automatically took care of... They even served our wedding party and family during our pictures!! We had a suprise rain storm right before dinner at our outside wedding and the staff gracefully and very quickly managed to move our entire dinner indoors in their beautiful inn with no hesitation or fuss. Not only were we, but all my guests commented on how well the situation was handled... What a perfect day!!

The staff at Monte Verde was simply wonderful. The grounds were beautiful. Kelly, the owner/coordinator, is such a professional--she was very helpful, had lots of ideas, and very easy to work with. Doug, Kelly's husband/chef, did an amazing job with the food. Our guests were raving about it all. The cake was beautiful and delicious. They took care of all the details and made sure that the whole thing went smoothly. I would absolutely, no question, recommend this place to anyone wanting to get married in the Sacramento area.

We do not have enough good things to say about our experience with the Monte Verde Inn. Our first tour was the Monday before Christmas and Tina, the lead wedding coordinator, greeted us outside in the pouring, freezing rain. Even in the storm you could feel Tina’s warmth, and we couldn’t help but fall in love with the venue. It’s so beautiful and has a little bit of something for everyone. From the moment we decided to sign the contract until our departure the morning after the wedding, everything was smooth and easy. We never second guessed our decision to have our wedding there, even when we learned that the business had been sold to another owner shortly after we booked with them. You couldn’t tell the difference. Tina (and Lexi) always communicated clearly and patiently, and the vendors they contract with are top notch.

Part of booking with MVI means that your linens, utensils, chairs and tables, wedding cake and decorative floral (except the arch and personal flowers) is included with your main package. Cathy with Gimmie Cake Too (cake baker) did such a great job. We enjoyed our cake tasting and trusted her explicitly, and the staff at MVI said they had never seen cake disappear so quickly! Martha with Blooms by Martha (decorative floral) really listened to our vision and brought it to life. Our friends couldn’t stop taking pictures of the floral arrangements! We also used MVI’s preferred DJ, Joe Kalamaras (SJ’s DJ) and boy, was that a smart choice! We LOVE Joe. We also chose one of MVI’s recommended photographers, Jessica Roman (Jessica Roman Photography), and that beautiful and wonderful woman became this bride’s saving grace. Talk about a wedding dream team!!! We strongly recommend Monte Verde Inn as your Gold Country wedding venue, especially if you are a couple wanting your special day to be beautiful, stress free, and memorable. We wish we could get married there every weekend!

Tina is amazing!! I don't know what I would would have done without her. She is so easy to work with and makes your life stress free. The day of the wedding we had to go with plan B and move dinner and dancing indoors, but luckily the weather held out to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The venue itself is gorgeous and I love how you have your wedding outside, indoors or both! Having it all-inclusive is the way to go! You have many options for appetizers, alcohol, food, linens to table floral decor! They even partner with a baker to make the cake! Many of our guests loved the food and cake! Wow, just wow... My husband and I had our wedding at the magical Monte Verde Inn on 8/29/2015. From the moment we stepped foot at the venue we knew we had found the perfect place to get married.

Not only is the venue beautiful, Kelly Dalisa and her team are the best around to plan your wedding. They worked with me very closely to create the wedding of my dreams. I didn't want a "cookie cutter" wedding and honestly, what ever I wanted, Kelly & team made it come true. Red curtains, a peacock wedding cake, a horse for a baraat (we had a fusion east meets west wedding), mini-pies for favors, incorporating indian food into the menu...and so much more.

Kelly & team take their jobs very seriously and with passion. The day of our wedding - it showed! Service was immaculate, organized and on time. Our guests marveled at the beautiful venue, service and ambiance with the romantic twinkle lights. We kept hearing it was the most beautiful, organized, magical & fun wedding that our guests have ever attended. They also raved about the food and how delicious it was. The chef nailed our special request of chicken tikka masala and samosas that we had incorporated into our fusion wedding. Also, the cake was not only gorgeous, but tasted devine.

I wish we could re-live our wedding at the Monte Verde Inn... it was seriously the best day of our lives thanks to Kelly & team. They worked closely with me throughout the months about my vision and have deep passion and expertise on wedding planning.

The Monte Verde Inn was a little pricy, but we were SO happy with our wedding day! It was so beautiful and romantic. It was supposed to be sunny, but then it rained the day of our wedding. We made all the plans for outdoors, but like magic everything was done inside and it was absolutely beautiful. The service was perfect. Someone followed us around, getting us anything we needed, giving us food and drinks while we took pictures. Guests were taken care of with anything they needed as well. They used all the decor I brought to decorate the venue. The property has so many beautiful spots to take pictures. Our photo album is a dream come true! The venue covers basically everything: set up/break down, food, drinks, cake, dishes, linens, table flowers… Basically everything except the music and bridal flowers. Great place to get married :)

I absolutely love this place. I would totally recommend it. Kelly is great and they try to make the day your day. The place is beautiful and the food was great. Everyone who attended said it was lovely. They have indoor/outdoor options available. And you can move inside if it happens to rain. Which was what happened to us. We had the ceremony outdoors but went inside for the reception. But it was still beautiful. I was so happy with our choice. You will be too.

A beautiful location to get married. The inn is all inclusive in the sense that they provide catering, location, flowers, and a place to stay for you and some guests after the wedding (it is an inn after all). We got married here in 2004 and the service was impeccable. We had a beautiful wedding for the total cost. I only had to order flowers for myself and my bridesmaids, find a dj and an officiant. I understand the inn has new owners now.

Ok so I could say a lot about this venue. Overall, I loved them, but there were a few things that could have been better.
The picture here look pretty accurate and a good representation of the venue. There are some small changes to the ceremony background but all good things. One note, however, the arch is off center to the pavement/trees/standing area, so we had to spend a lot on asymmetrical arch florals to make it less noticeable. Our photographers were pros at making it look great but it was something I thought about a lot until the big day.
They had a lot included in the venue package price, the food, the cake, the tables and all the dinnerware, and half the florals and they had a great recommendation list for the rest of the vendors.
I would say that the venue is closer to the road than I expected so there is some traffic noise.
They (and many of my vendors) kept referencing their sister property up the road, to the point that I almost wondered if I picked the wrong one by not seeing that one first. So that wasn't great.
And we didn't get to take any leftovers. We got a few of our cake pieces (but not even from the original cake, but the extra guest pieces) so we literally got 2 bites of a cake that we spent a lot of time getting excited about and that was it. We didn't get any food to take at all, even though we paid for it, even though there was extra, even though they took our plates and put them aside for us for later. So I don't know what happened there and we were pretty bummed. We barely tasted the food we spent months picking and planning and then didn't get a chance to enjoy it later. I will say, ALL of my guests RAVED about the scallop potatoes. So I know the food was good, I just wish I got more of it.
Otherwise, the backyard reception space is like a garden fairytale. It is all green and beautiful with twinkle lights and trees all around. The trees were probably my favorite part. And the inn house was such a fun element to the property. We got to get ready inside and take really gorgeous photos all over the property.

The Monte Verde Inn is one of those tucked-away spots with a deeply beautiful history. From the very moment we entered the main doors, then walked thru the breezeway to the rear, we began to feel just how special this venue truly is! From the exquisite decorum and picture-perfect landscaping, to the naturally rustic beauty of the ceremony site, it is a place in which we connect with emotionally and spiritually. We knew instantly this was the place for us! Lex and her staff were simply amazing, treating us with genuine compassion and professionalism from beginning to end, even during the all madness of the Big Day! We could not be more grateful and hope to return when the time arrives to renew our vows!

Beautiful venue and very elegant. Staff is professional and food is amazing. Best part is this venue is all inclusive meaning bride doesn't have to stress about planning, setting up or cleaning up after wedding. You pick what you want from flowers to food and the owner puts it all together. There's different price packages too. It's like you get a free wedding planner. Received so many complainants from our guests how wonderful and elegant the venue was.

Everything was great, everything I could ask for was taken care of and if never done before figured out how to get it done. Kelly made sure everything was taken care of and that anything I needed was taken care of. Everyone said it was the best wedding they had been too and that was in big part to Kelly and the Monte verde Inn. Thank you so much!

My wife and I wanted to find an amazing place to hold our wedding. This was our day and we wanted to remember it for the rest of our lives. After checking out various venues we saw one that we liked a lot. It was the Monte Verde Inn and is in a really private and hidden area. That is one of the things we liked most about this place. The staff was friendly and understanding trying to take care of all our needs. The staff did a really great job. They were always looking to help whether it was setting up or taking down, and making sure all the details were covered. I felt like they really went over and beyond and we gave them an extra tip. The price was affordable and the scenery was beautiful. They really cleaned it up nice for the venue and my wife and I appreciated everything they did for us.

We had a wonderful wedding day at this venue! The price was lower than many other venues we looked at, and the beautiful outdoor property with flowers and towering redwood trees made for an incredible backdrop. Set up and break down were completely handled by the staff, so I didn’t have to lift a finger on the big day. The team was friendly and professional, and while communication could be slow at times, they eventually answered all our questions. One of the best parts is that their package includes food, cake, linens, and bar service—making it easy to plan everything in one place. Overall, a great experience and a gorgeous setting for our wedding.

I was a bridesmaid at a wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful. They have the whole package and we were even able to stay there overnight which added to the experience! Super fun

It took me a while to write this review because MVI left me with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I got married there in April of 2021, after dealing with pandemic-related delays. However, my negative experience with MVI goes back to before COVID hit. The highlights:
- The initial coordinator I spoke to (Lexi) was wonderful, and a huge part of the reason I booked at MVI. She was let go shortly after I signed the contract. She clearly was very experienced, and a lot of the things she promised ended up not happening (e.g., she always had the bride stop at the start of the aisle, rearranged the train, then had you continue down – that way, the train wouldn’t catch on the light posts at the start of the aisle. Good call, because the new coordinator didn’t do that and my dress/veil caught as I was walking down the aisle... very embarassing).
- They were supposed to offer an open house for couples once you’d signed the contract. The first one was scheduled for Dec. 2019 (pre-COVID) but was cancelled. Then, due to the pandemic, we never got to attend an open house or see any of the setup that was promised to us.
- MVI initially refused to offer any sort of menu tasting (originally, that would have been provided at the open house). When I pushed back – because how am I supposed to select options from a three-page menu without any idea how their food is? – they allowed my then-fiancé and I to come to someone else’s wedding and sample their food. While I’m grateful we got to try something, that was horribly awkward.
- My wedding coordinator, Alicia, had poor communication and even forgot that she had booked a detail appointment with me/my fiancé (about a month before the wedding). When we arrived at the venue, she asked if we were just there to look around – then kept us waiting nearly 45 minutes while she finished with another couple. She rarely reached out via email to check in on planning, which was frustrating because so much of it (flowers, cake, etc.) is run through MVI. At one point, she told me “Some brides don’t like a lot of communication from their coordinator.” It would be helpful if she asked her clients what level of communication they prefer. We also were never able to contact her via phone -- only email or the MVI phone number (which didn't matter because she was working remotely). Response took anywhere from a few days to a week plus, and I usually had to follow up to get a response.
- Due to the pandemic, in the weeks leading up to my wedding the state was not allowing gatherings of more than three households. Despite that, MVI insisted they could continue with our 120-person guest list and refused to let us out of the contract. While I appreciate that some couples did want to move ahead despite restrictions, it would have been nice if MVI respected the fact that state guidance prohibited such gatherings. Instead, they told us that the contract only promised a ceremony and a meal, not a certain guest count or dancing – basically, if they could provide a ceremony/meal for even two people, we wouldn’t be able to get out of the contract.
- Despite myriad restrictions due to COVID, and our desire to reduce our guest count to a) comply with state guidelines and b) be cautious in light of the pandemic, MVI initially refused to lower our F&B minimum. While I understand that we agreed to a minimum of $13,500 in our contract, it would have been impossible to spend that with our final guest count (under 40 people). After a lot of discussion, MVI did agree to lower the F&B minimum, which I very much appreciated.
- Our cake was provided via Divine Desserts. Although I was initially told that we could keep the top tier of our cake, it turns out that was an additional charge (due to guest count, we only needed a two-tier cake – our options were to add a third tier for about $200 or have a sheet cake in the back, for an additional $40 or so). While $40 isn’t much, it was very frustrating that we had to pay extra for something we were told was included.
- The morning of the wedding, I was fielding phone calls from one of our vendors, who had arrived at the venue to drop off chairs/plates/glassware and found that no one was there. Considering I had paid extra for the 8 a.m.-noon guaranteed window that MVI requested, that was extremely frustrating. On top of that, I was never given our coordinator’s cell phone number (just the number for the venue itself) so I had no way of contacting her. After multiple phone calls with the vendor, I ended up telling him to just leave the items by the side of the house so that he could move on to other deliveries – this was after he spent at least 30 minutes waiting. Not sure what he would have done if he hadn’t at least been able to get in touch with me – would I have just ended up without any of our rentals? Super frustrating – the whole point of a day-of coordinator is to avoid that exact situation. Also not sure whether the vendor actually received his tip, which I had provided to MVI the day before.
- We had 38 guests total, and some of the food came out ice cold – not lukewarm, but absolutely cold all the way through. I was extremely unhappy to hear that from some of my guests after the fact; we did not have a large group, and MVI should be able to accommodate a hot meal for all of their guests.
- The food itself is solidly mediocre. We upgraded to the Chateau package (the most expensive option) and the inclusion of filet was the only saving grace. From what I understand, the chef has very little flexibility with the menu and they are serving the same menu they’ve had for years. Some of the appetizers taste like frozen apps you’d buy at Costco… except honestly, Costco’s are better. I also checked in with our coordinator, Alicia, shortly before the wedding to find out what “seasonal vegetables” would be provided so that I could add it to the menu, and what she told me was different than what was provided that day. Small detail, but if it wasn’t possible to get accurate info two weeks in advance I would have rather been informed of that so the menu wasn’t wrong.
- Alicia said she would be there to cue our wedding party when it came time to start the processional. However, she wasn’t, and the party wasn’t sure when they were supposed to start walking. It made for a tense few moments just as the ceremony was about to start, which I didn’t appreciate.
- Following the ceremony, the couple gets 10-15 min to have a glass of wine and eat something before pictures start. What I didn’t find out until after the fact was that during that time, our entire wedding party (including our parents) was standing in a hallway – Alicia didn’t tell them to grab a glass of wine or have a seat for a few moments prior to pictures. Instead, they were all standing around wondering where they were supposed to go/what they were supposed to do. It would have been really nice if someone had pointed them in the direction of the bar so that they could have had a celebratory glass of champagne right after the ceremony, which is what my husband and I were doing.
- Our welcome sign was on a provided easel that kept blowing over. For some reason, it didn’t occur to anyone that they should weight it down – they just said “it happens all the time.” My father made them put weights on it, and the problem was solved. That’s pretty basic, and I’m shocked my dad had to deal with that on the day of my wedding.
- No one knew that cake was available – the DJ mentioned it once, but about half of our guests were seated (instead of on the dance floor, closer to the DJ) so I don’t think they heard the announcement. Since we had a small group and a plated meal, it would have been nice if the cake had been served, at least to those who were still seated. My parents, for example, had no idea that cake was available until everyone was being rushed out the door.
- Prior to our event’s “official” end time (10 p.m.), staff were removing centerpieces, etc. from the tables. It felt distinctly less than welcoming… while I understand there is a noise curfew, it seems reasonable that you wait for the guests to leave before breaking down the event.
- There was no time allotted for us to have the officiant/witnesses sign our wedding paperwork… pretty large detail that went unnoticed until the end of the night, when I remembered and ran back inside to get the papers and a pen. Really wish our wedding coordinator had thought of that so we weren’t scrambling to sign papers in the dark.

Overall, my wedding was just… fine. We got married, everything ran pretty much according to schedule, and the bar didn't run out of booze. Would I recommend MVI? Only if you want to be super hands off with your wedding planning and don’t care much about the food. Also, have your lawyer review the contract before you sign – we didn’t (rookie mistake) and that ended up coming back to bite us. According to our attorney, the way the contract is written, “the place could burn down, it could be their fault, and they still wouldn’t have to return any of your money.”

We fell in love with this venue, and were initially treated very well. Unfortunately, we had to cancel, due to unforeseen circumstances, and then it all changed! We cancelled, understanding that we would get our $5,000 deposit back if another couple booked our date. We reached out to Alicia and her response was that unless someone were to choose our original date, we were out of luck and should not expect any kind of refund. I questioned how we could be at fault in that a global pandemic hit, but could not get any clear answer. The bottom line is, if someone was unable to take our date, due to the pandemic or otherwise, we had no recourse, and would forfeit our deposit.



We accepted the fact that we canceled pre pandemic and tried to make it right by explaining that we would forfeit $1,000 as a cancellation fee. Alicia became very uncooperative. She told us she would contact us for a time to talk, but it would be over a month before we could began our dialog again. We tried to resolve this, but could not get any kind of reasonable agreement. She and Monte Verde Inn would do NOTHING more than just take our deposit and wash their hands of us. They made no effort to make a good faith refund, of any kind. This has truly been an eye opener for us especially during these hard times. We are sad that this venue and the couples interested in the property are being dealt with this way.
