Shaochen recently did hand foil calligraphy for our event and not only was her calligraphy BEAUTIFUL, she was such a pleasure to work with. She is incredibly responsive, accomodating, flexible, and takes on all the logistics to make your event run smoothly. Monstera Gold was great. For our wedding, we needed: welcome sign, seating chart, and name cards. For reference, we had 180 guests at our wedding. Shaochen was really easy to work with and carried out our vision, especially with our name cards. We asked for a name card that doubled as a coaster in the future in various colors to signify the meal. She did a great job with the name cards. Both of our mom's passed away and we kindly requested a special coaster/signifier with a cross on the seating chart. That was greatly appreciated for our special touch to tribute our mothers.
We would recommend Monstera Gold. She was very professional, responsive, and everything turned out beautifully. -

Beautiful work!
We are so grateful to have contracted Monstera Gold for our wedding signage and calligraphy services! We are in the Bay Area so we worked with both Shaochen and Tiffany to curate the signs we wanted. Everything turned out amazing and looked professional. They were incredibly accommodating and understanding when we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID, and we are so thankful to be able to continue working with them for our new date. I really appreciate Shaochen’s ability to recognize certain design elements that will work for our wedding and her willingness to share recommendations. She had recommended a frosted acrylic for one of our signs and the milky-white agate stones for our wedding favors. Tiffany also did a phenomenal job with her calligraphy skills and created the most amazing signature cocktail sign: a custom portrait of our dog! This is our favorite piece and is a proudly displayed at our home after the wedding! We highly recommend Monstera Gold to anyone who wants personal, yet professional signage and calligraphy services done. -

I am a wedding vendor that does florals in Northern California. I have seen the work in the past with weddings that we have done together as well as follow them on instagram. I knew immediately when it was my daughter's turn to get married this was the signage company to use. I wanted the best of the best and they did not disappoint. The quality and details were perfect. They even accommodated the delivery and pick up to my venue. I highly recommend them for any event. -

Shaochen created signages and agate place cards for our wedding. They came in with such great quality and careful packing! Her beautiful handwriting definitely added more elegant and personalized vibe to our big day. Besides that, Shaochen communicates timely and clearly. Highly Recommend!
We used Monstera Gold for our wedding calligraphy needs and were blown away by Shaochen's work. She helped bring our vision to life with a custom welcome sign, gorgeous place cards, vow booklets and other custom signage. Her taste and work is impeccable and I appreciate that she was willing to get creative and work with us on some bespoke ideas. Communication throughout the process was also excellent and she got us all of our items well before our wedding day which helped alleviate any last minute anxiety! I'd recommend her work to anyone. -

I highly recommend Monstera Gold. Figuring out all the small things that go into making a wedding venue look put together and thoughtful was one of my biggest worries, as I really didn't have the time to figure everything out. Shaochen makes it easy to find all those small details in one place, and then she makes them personalized and uniquely yours. While she has a minimum cost that was higher than I anticipated, I ultimately believe I saved money compared to trying to individually buy all the items that she made for me on Etsy or somewhere else. In addition, considering how much time she took to design and hand-make each item, I think her prices are quite reasonable. I was so happy with the quality and the glamor of each item, and it really tied our whole event together beautifully. The communication, progress updates, and clear understanding and execution of my needs was top notch. -

Shaochen came highly referred by our wedding planner and we were very happy with her beautiful signage. She has a very detailed and thorough process for understanding clients' needs and preferences. She was very accommodating of my request for agate namecards even though at the time agate pieces were hard to come by. Shaochen also was very communicative and proactive (we had an issue with the easel we rented and she refunded us the rental fee without us needing to ask for it). We greatly enjoyed working with her and highly recommend her to other couples! -

I originally wasn't planning to add signage to my wedding, but we moved our wedding due to COVID, so I had a little extra money to dedicate to signage and I am SO GLAD I DID! Not only was it very functional (we had a ver spread out venue, so directional signage was essential) but it really tied the event together in a unique way. Shaochen is INCREDIBLE to work with. She's very attentive, a good communicator and was helpful with figuring out how to maximize budget. I especially loved that she offers rentals because they are so much more sustainable! I was able to choose a few vintage items like beautiful mirrors that she customized for us, and then we returned after the event. One of my favorite items was our vow books which were such a special touch for the ceremony. If you're considering signage, don't hesitate to work with Monstera Gold! -

We partnered with Shaochen to create our wedding welcome sign, our programs, custom ornaments, and table place cards. We had a very small wedding - only 12 close family members - and really wanted to infuse the experience with personal details, so we turned to Shaochen to help us with that. She hand-drew a gorgeous welcome sign and helped us to contract an illustrator for our programs. They were responsive, detail-oriented, and produced some of our favorite details of our wedding. I asked her to create customized bamboo coasters as wedding favors, sent her some inspiration photos, and she brought my ideas to life perfectly. She took the time to research all the best materials to fit my budget while creating high quality pieces. My wedding guests kept telling me how much they love the coasters and I still use mine every day! She also created beautiful vow books for me with ribbon to match my wedding color scheme. Personalized Touch to our Wedding
I've been looking for a calligrapher to prepare our guest seating chart, table names, and drink sign, and Shaochen provided these services! She was super responsive. Her calligrapher was Tiffany Padilla, and she did such an amazing job! I love the gold mirror piece that listed the seating chart. We didn't have much decorations for our wedding, and all these pieces made our wedding vibe that more elevated and elegant! All of our signs and table names were personalized to our desires. Our table names were personalized to describe phases in our lives. Our customized drinks were based on our fav summery drinks. Check out their IG pages: @monstera.gold. They create awesome pieces not just for weddings but for any event. I definitely recommend! -

Super talented and professional!
Highly recommend Shaochen! As a fellow vendor/wedding planner, she was so easy to work with. My client's original calligrapher fell through due to Covid setbacks, but in the end it worked out because Shaochen was so much more experienced, responsive, and super professional. We hired Monstera Gold to provide signage for our wedding ceremony + reception in September 2021. We cancelled our original wedding and pivoted really fast to a small ceremony. Overall, we had around 6 weeks to plan our wedding. When I reached out to Shaochen, not only was she super flexible with our schedule, but she was getting married the day after we were, and completely understood the challenges we faced. It was great working with Shaochen and Tiffany on our calligraphy pieces. They were great listeners, receptive to feedback and stuck to our very tight schedule. Not only did our guests rave about the signs and agate name cards, but they really made our covid wedding all that more special. -

Shaochen absolutely crushed my wedding reception table signs!! I had her write names of different places around the world that were special to my fiance and I on rocks. They turned out absolutely GORGEOUS. Better than I could have wished. This was one of the most important decor pieces of our wedding as it was personal & made a statement on the table - something that I had thought through for a long time & wanted to be just right. Shaochen was very quick in communication, packaged them beautifully & safely at the end so they were ready to go. I would 10/10 recommend her to any bride to be needing day of/calligraphy work. Shaochen is fantastic and super talented at what she does! I had the pleasure of being a part of her wedding and had the opportunity to see her work first hand. I can't get over how unique and beautiful the placement cards were that she hand made! The different colors of seed paper were used to indicate the guests' meal preferences, and when planted, should grow into wildflowers! Then she attached the whole thing to a blood orange slice to fit the fall theme. It was absolutely stunning! She also handmade all of the signs and seating charts on the coolest jugs! Her work is flawless and beautiful! All of the extra details really pulled the decor together and made her wedding truly magical! She is thorough, timely, and her work is perfection. I would highly recommend her for all your calligraphy needs! -

Best bridesmaid proposals ever!
I decided to have custom champagne bottles made for all of my bridesmaids as proposals, and I was lucky enough to come across Shaochen to help me bring my vision to life! Shaochen went above and beyond in every aspect. From thorough research on all of our options based on our general theme and preferences (from an initial phone call), to providing possible solutions for every issue that came up. She was responsive, attentive and the quality of her work is UNMATCHED. In addition to everything leading up to the wedding being incredible, due to some changes to our wedding because of the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County, Shaochen volunteered to do extra work to ensure our seating assignment cards were perfect and worked directly with our coordinator and friends to arrange pick-up in San Francisco the morning of the wedding. We were blown away and incredibly impressed and know that Monstera Gold should be a top choice for anyone needing gorgeous signs and incredible calligraphy! -

Shaochen is amazing!
Shaochen is great! She is such a joy to work with - exceptionally talented and so great at problem solving. She was always on time (or early!) with deliverables and was highly organized in how she took in information from us and turned it into beautiful pieces for our wedding. I wanted our place cards to be tied to our favors, which required the calligraphy to be off-center and hole-punches to be added. She was great about accommodating this and they turned out so lovely!
I can't recommend Shaochen enough - she is smart, creative, on-time, organized, and so fun to talk to! -

I don't have the right words to express how much of a dream Shaochen was to work with! I had a specific vision for what I wanted our big day to look like and Shaochen's style fit it and the rest of our decor perfectly. We worked with her on a welcome sign, bar sign, place cards, table numbers and seating chart and everything turned out FLAWLESSLY. Many of our friends who posted about our wedding on social media included pictures of the welcome sign and place cards in their posts - they were such a hit! We love our wedding signs!
We are so happy with our wedding signs! We worked with Shaochen to design a welcome sign and an agenda sign. From staining the wood to designing the layout, Shaochen kept us posted each step of the way. Beautiful pieces for our wedding!
We ordered a custom welcome sign for our wedding to place near the ceremony and loved it. Shaochen was great with communication and gave us ideas on how to best format the sign and it came out perfectly. We also ordered some smaller signs for our guest book and photo area. Everything looked beautiful! No problems with shipment either - Shaochen made sure it arrived with a few days to spare! -

After coming across Shaochen's work on instagram if knew I wanted to have her involved in our Bridesmaid and Grooms men proposal gifts. She put together beautiful monogramed luggage tags and handwritten messages on Whiskey & Champaign bottles. Working with Shaochen was very simple and the project was completed in a timely manner.
