Phenomenal
My group LOVED how fast Monique was and felt so beautiful all day and night with our hair. She is so creative and beyond talented. Not to mention a single mama who adopted 3 kids, but is still able to give her all in her work as well! 10/10 would always recommend! -

I booked Boise Braid Lounge for hair and makeup for my wedding. Monique for hair and Jamie from Jamie Lee makeup did a wonderful job! The hair and makeup stayed alllll day, on a hot day. They are absolute professionals and are quite literally the sweetest gals. Thank you for making me feel the most beautiful on my special day!! Definitely recommend for your next event! -

I booked their services for hair and make up, for myself (the bride) and 5 other ladies. They were super flexible and coordinated to meet us at 2 places the morning of the wedding due to the venue’s schedule. Monique gave me the prettiest braid I’ve ever seen and Jamie’s make up was amazing and lasted all night! It helped that both of them were friendly and everyone had a blast chatting with them while getting ready. I’m not able to upload a photo of my make up but you’ll have to trust me, it was subtle and elegant and we all felt so so pretty! -

She was a rockstar, working solo, everyone had their hair done on time, looking amazing, and everyone's hair lasted the whole evening. Monique was easy to book, she helped me decide on a look that worked best for my hair type, and overall was awesome to work with! -

Monique and Lily are amazing. Excellent price and excellent service. They showed up on time, communicated well with me, and were flexible when needed.
Monique is a quick stylist but doesn’t compromise on quality. She needed little direction on what we wanted with our hair and it still it turned out to phenomenal. Our hair stayed the whole time throughout dancing, bouncing, and everything in between. My hair even looked okay the next morning after a sleep.
Lily gets makeup. We did my test run and I took a nap (I’m a sleepy girly) and my makeup stayed. On my wedding day, my makeup stayed as well! I have rosacea and she covered my redness well (even though I wasn’t having a massive flare up). I noticed a little bit of separation of the foundation at the end of the night BUT again I was dancing and everything so a little to be expected and not a dig on Lily’s skills. Just like my hair, my makeup stayed through til the morning (yes I broke a cardinal rule and didn’t take my makeup off after my wedding…again, I am a sleepy girly).
Overall, I will recommend the Braid Lounge. Monique and Lily are an awesome team and I am exceptionally happy they were a part of my special day. Thank you Monique and Lily 💜 -

I cannot recommend this business enough! Monique (hair) and Lily (makeup) were my artists from The Braid Lounge. During my trials they listened to what I wanted and were willing to take a few minutes to let me sit and think about any changes I wanted to make. Monique was able to create a hairstyle based on photos and ended up making a beautiful boho updo with a fishtail braid and braided bun. It was perfect for me. I showed Lily two separate photos of what I wanted for my makeup and she was able to combine the elements I liked. I didn’t feel “overdone” at all. She chose colors that matched me well and brought out my natural beauty. On wedding morning, both Monique and Lily finished with plenty of time to go so we were not stressed at all! They brought such a calm energy to my wedding morning that set the tone to help me enjoy the rest of my day. My hair and makeup lasted all throughout the day and well into the night. All of my bridesmaids were very happy with their hair and makeup too. Thank you so much to the Braid Lounge for making me and my bridesmaids feel beautiful and pampered on my wedding day! I was way behind on wedding planning and so ended up booking hair only about 2 weeks out, and they were kind enough to fit me in. Crystal is an incredible stylist: she showed up about 10 minutes early, she was so calming and helpful, and she took a combination of 3 photos I had found online and created a hairstyle that was prettier than I could have even imagined. Not only that, but it held up all day, and even did that without stabbing my head with bobby pins. She also did my mom and sister's hair, and they looked amazing. I am so pleased with her and couldn't recommend her highly enough! -

Stress-free Bridal Hair Experience
I am so grateful I found Monique and the Braid Lounge team for my wedding day. When I told Monique I wanted to do a sleek bun for my wedding hair, she loved the idea and achieved my vision. Monique also styled all four of my bridesmaid's hair and my mom’s hair. Everyone loved their hair and felt so beautiful. Monique helped make my wedding day stress-free and was extremely professional. Amazing and super flexible!

Beyond expectations
Monique with the Braid Lounge crew did my cousins wedding and exceeded our expectations. She was on time, lovely to talk to, and super speedy! Wedding days can be nerve racking and stressful but she made hair nothing to stress about. Wedding week was wild because half my bridal party was from out of state! Monique was absolutely brilliant because she took the time to blonde half of my bridal party. I have seen a few reviews that align with my experience and I was hesitant to make a review. I got married 10.8.23. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances with the power going out I never completed my trial. The braid lounge is GREAT at braids however when it came to the curls and overall quality of the hair, i felt like it was something I could have done. For myself, 3 bridesmaids and my mother Monique took about 40 minutes all together. The only thing I wish was more time taken on the curls and more product (we each got a small spritz of hairspray). Luckily I brought my own hair tools and products and we were able to touch up. I just felt very rushed and for the price we could have each had more time and care taken for each style. It is about 60 per person so maybe that is aligned with the price point. Braids were great just wish better curls and more product used, -

I hate to have to write this, but I would not want another parent to plan an event with high expectations the way I did, only to be disappointed.
My daughter recently turned 5 and wanted a spa-themed birthday party with nails, toes, braids, and hair tinsel — services she regularly gets and truly loves. After searching extensively, I was excited to find Monique because she offered all of these services at a very reasonable price.
Unfortunately, communication from the start was poor. I had to follow up multiple times to confirm pricing and that we were officially on her schedule. A week before the party, she confirmed we were on her calendar but did not have basic details such as the time, number of girls, services, or location — despite me completing her Google form three separate times. I emailed all the information again and never received confirmation. I later texted to confirm there would be 11 girls so she could plan accordingly, and while she responded “excited,” she never confirmed whether all services could be completed with that size group.
The day before the party, I reached out asking if she needed anything from me (tables, setup, etc.) and received no response. With no confirmation of time or location, I became very concerned. I reached out multiple times and even contacted her team for confirmation, but did not hear back until the morning of the party when Monique said her work phone had died and that she would be there. This message came around 10am for a 1pm party.
At 1:00pm, all the girls had arrived, but she was not there. I then saw a text saying she was running late. She arrived about 20 minutes late, which disrupted the schedule since I had planned rotating stations.
She arrived with one additional employee. That employee handled nails and toes while Monique did braids and hair tinsel. Unfortunately, the nail services were extremely poorly done — gel polish was on the girls’ skin, polish was uneven and see-through, and several gel nails fell off before the girls even left the party. Halfway through toe services, they stopped doing toes entirely without prior notice, leaving several girls soaking their feet and then being told toes would no longer be done. This was very disappointing for the girls.
Given the group size, there should have been additional staff. There was excessive waiting, and several girls (including my daughter) chose not to get their nails done after seeing the results.
I have used Monique in the past for braids and know she is capable of good work, but this experience was very different. The braids were rushed and messy, with only one child receiving a style that looked polished. The hair tinsel was installed using extension beads, which I have never seen done before and is not how it has been done for my daughter at salons.
Overall, the interaction felt awkward and unprofessional.
After the party, they left several supplies behind. I contacted Monique, and she said she would retrieve them on Tuesday if I left them on the porch, which I did. As of Friday, they are still sitting there.
Overall, this was not a good experience and unfortunately resulted in a very disappointing spa party.
The Braid Lounge's reply:
Hey Taylor- I do apologize for your experience.
The communication on my end was terrible due to personal issues arising, but absolutely not an excuse and I apologize for the lack of professionalism. Thank you for your feedback on the day of experience - this will help us to do better. I can assure you we weren’t rushing, and I did not know we had put a stop to nail services. That may have been a miscommunication as my assistant was instructed to do everyone in the party. It was not meant to be that way.
On a brighter note- I hope your daughter enjoyed her gift from us and the girls liked the goodie bags we did provide.
