Tim and his team were absolutely awesome! I wanted a specific verse cut out of my song for walking down the aisle, and they made it happen seamlessly. For the dance party, we gave them a short list of songs we wanted played, and they did the rest! Our guests had so much fun, and the dance floor was never empty. He was also super professional to work with throughout the entire process, and a great value for what we got--he even does uplighting, which we took full advantage of for our outdoor venue and it totally transformed the place at night. The day went perfectly, and it was in large part thanks to Tim! Highly, highly recommend. -

Tim was amazing!! I was totally last minute and he was flexible and attentive and even came out to the rehearsal on his own time. He had enough common sense to ditch the per-arranged game plan and stick with what was getting our guests onto the dance floor without anyone having to ask him. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Few things actually happened in the order we had listed but he handled it all with professionalism and ease!

Steve is absolutely incredible!! Multiple people came up to me and my husband asking who our DJ was and how great he is! My husband had one stipulation for me for our wedding, that I can do whatever I want but the one thing he asked for was to just have an insanely fun dance party, and he definitely got that! You know how at every wedding there are a few dance songs where people kind of taper off because they are not that into it? That did not happen the entire night it was hit after hit, people were raging even people you wouldn't expect were out on the dance floor. Not trying to be bias but I think our wedding was the best one I have ever been too because of how great Steve is and the music he chose! I had a lot of little surprises throughout the wedding that I needed Steve's help on and he made sure he had exactly what I wanted and made 100% sure he understood how it was supposed to go in our meetings before the wedding. Steve made sure the whole wedding ran smoothly and would only go on to the next event if I gave him the go ahead which calmed my nerves! Best of all Steve is one of those people you have felt like you have known your entire life, an extremely comfortable person to be around, great personality! I am so happy that my husband and I chose Steve from Modern Symphony I don't think our wedding would have been even close to as awesome without him! -

Best of the best!
We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our big day! From start to finish Steve kept the energy absolutely perfect. He knew just the rite music to play that had everyone out there celebrating with us. Steve was very professional, SO easy to work with, really listened to our vision and made it come to life. The music transitions were seamless, the announcements were clear and all of our guests cant stop talking about what a great vibe he created. Will recommend to anyone looking for a great DJ for any event! -

This company was amazing! From when I first contacted Tim about using the company for my wedding through the very end of the reception that Mark DJ’d they were friendly, professional, and paid amazing attention to detail. They not only did all the sound for my ceremony and reception, they also did lighting for my reception and I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ! DJ Mark was the best!
DJ Mark was the best! He responded quickly to emails and helped with different song choice ideas. On the wedding day, he coordinated the evening by keeping everything moving smoothly. There was never a dull moment as he knew how to keep the party going! We are beyond grateful for the wonderful experience Modern Symphony provided us. Their dedication to making our wedding day unforgettable truly shone through in every aspect of their service. We highly recommend them to any couple looking for a team that genuinely cares about making your dream wedding a reality.

Best night of our lives!!!
Mark was absolutely amazing at keeping the crowd entertained and keeping people on the dance floor. He was so kind even when I made last minute requests! Definitely could not imagine our wedding being that fun without him! -

Tim and Junior were fantastic! Tim was excellent with getting back to us right away. We had a meeting to discuss our fun choices of music, and sent him a list of music we wanted to hear at our wedding. The music he played was perfect and his choice of lighting fit our taste wonderfully. He even offered to show up early and help in any extra way he could. I can't tell you how kind that was for even offering. The wedding went absolutely perfect! We even had to kick people off the dance floor at the end of the night because they wouldn't stop dancing. Thank you so much to Tim and his assistant Junior! -

Added the perfect touch to our special day
Modern Symphony was highly recommended by our venue, we decided to go with them based on the numerous positive reviews, and we were paired up with Steve. Working with Steve was a breeze and he was very friendly and professional. He met with us on the day of our recital to hammer out some last minute songs we forgot about and meeting him in person went fantastically. He did a wonderful job at the ceremony and the reception. We provided him a playlist of various songs to try and get the musical theming we were going for across and he got the music vibe and expanded upon it. Steve did great song transitions that kept the mood alive and people dancing all night and even took requests from our quests. We both fussed over the music the most out of anything else for our wedding and Steve really delivered on the experience! -

Tim read our crowd very well. We were concerned about our guests dancing because we had an older crowd, but Tim read the crowd and everyone was dancing the whole night! Highly reccomend! -

THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!!! Okay.... so at first, my husband (then fiance!) and I originally were planning to NOT have a DJ because it did not fit into our budget. However, as the wedding came closer, we decided to shop around because our wedding was an all day/night event and we did not want the party to get ruined by an ipod and/or speaker malfunction, especially with 150-200 guests! After calling 12+ wedding DJ's in the central coast, we went with Tim (Modern Symphony) and it was the BEST DECISION!!! He catered to everything we wanted from music choice, timeline, set-up, beautiful uplighting, etc!! He was SO nice and professional. The music was on point all night! We got so many compliments about Tim. He was great to work with and made the day run so smoothly. We were absolutely BLESSED to have Tim and his family (wife and cousin) apart of our special weekend. THANK YOU MODERN SYMPHONY!!!! By the way.. we are definitely planning to hire you again for future events. -

10/10 would dance to again
Tim did an amazing job on our wedding on September 1, 2019. He was able to feel out the wedding and create amazing sets of songs for our guests based on a few songs I gave him for the ceremony! He was easy to communicate with, responsive, and friendly. We were blown away by how seamless everything went. Our guests had an amazing time on the dance floor and I even had a few guests reach out to me for his contact info to use at their wedding! I would absolutely recommend Tim and I am so happy he was able to make our wedding so special for us! -

Mark and Tim were great! Both very professional, easy to work with, great personality, flexible, and fun. Mark came to our vendor walk thru, provided great recommendations, provided DJ services for our Rehearsal dinner and Wedding day. The day of our wedding, Mark set up four different music systems to support our Ceremony, Cocktail hour, Dinner/Reception and Dancing. The mark of a good DJ is helping guide the party while being nearly invisible, Mark nailed it. Great music, great folks to work with. Highly recommend these guys. -

We found his information online and he drove all the way to bakersfield to meet up with us. After hearing is competively priced packages and seeing how professional he was, we asked him to DJ our wedding in April 2014. He included everything we wanted and for an affordable price! We had to tell everyone! One of our family friends used him at their October 2013 wedding and loved it! Can't wait for him to DJ our wedding!! -

Mark was more than we could’ve asked for!
Mark was the epitome of perfection. He showed us that he wanted to be involved as he reached out to us and asked if he could attend our rehearsal dinner to meet us and some of our guests and talk to us about the logistics of the wedding. He kept us in the planning process and made sure that we were happy. We would recommend Mark for any and every event! -

Tim went over and beyond for our wedding! Because we booked him a year out, he made sure to touch base with us throughout the year to make sure everything was on track. After a few meetings and phone calls, we had everything finalized and our wedding day arrived. Since I did not have a coordinator, I had no idea what I was doing and Tim stepped up and helped us with our wedding rehearsal; making sure we all knew what to do, etiquette, etc. During the wedding he made sure that everything ran smoothly and made sure we had everything we needed. The event manager at our venue said that Tim even helped set out centerpieces for another event while he was waiting for our wedding to commence. Thank you Tim for being a part of our special day!! -

Best dj/mc for our wedding!
DJ Mark with Modern Symphonies was hands down the best we could have asked for to DJ/MC our wedding. From the planning stages, answering questions, song recommendations, getting specific song versions we wanted... to being flexible with hours when we needed him to have an earlier start time after we had already signed... he was phenomenal! Our ceremony & reception music was exactly what we had asked for, and his audio/mic set up was perfectly executed so there were no issues when it came down to having our guests being able to hear our vows, speeches, etc. ! He was friendly with guests and kept the party going all night! He made this part of the wedding process so stress free, we did not have to worry about anything other than picking our special songs. Could not recommend him and his services more! 10/10 recommend Mark! -

I couldn't have asked for a better dj, not only was he professional and made sure everyone had a great time, he also arrived early and helped us with every little thing we needed help with. His prices are great and he was always available whenever we needed him for any questions or last minute changes. Overall, I would highly recommend him. -

This is the second time that I've booked Modern Symphony. I couldn't recommend Tim with more than 5 stars or I would have. He is absolutely amazing! Last year, I booked him for my college graduation/birthday combo party that was 80's themed and he had everyone dancing literally all night. I had no hesitations about booking Modern Symphony for our wedding.
First of all, the knowledge and experience that Tim brings to the table is a huge relief to a nervous bride. He gave me ideas for the itinerary, reminded me of items that I may want to have, and kept me reassured that this was OUR special day and our happiness is #1. We kept in touch via email and text (which is super convenient) throughout the entire process. The beautiful lighting, quality of the music, and the awesome way that Tim and his assistant kept the wedding going by navigating the itinerary and keeping the guests entertained made our night 100x more awesome. We even rented a projector to show the slideshow of our Vegas wedding that was a week before our homecoming reception and it was set up perfectly for us.
