If I had to do it all again, the very first thing I’d do is make sure we were working with Kala and the MOD Events team.
The standout part of working with Kala is her incredible wealth of experience. From the moment the day started, it was clear she was completely comfortable directing every moving part. She has worked with every member of our vendor team for multiple weddings, and that established rapport made the entire day flow seamlessly.

We went into our wedding planning with very little vision of what we wanted our wedding to look like. Kara helped guide us through every step of the planning, from the big choices--venue, food, etc.--to the small ones--plateware, votices and lighting. She was always available for a call, even if it was just to talk my fiance down from a potential crisis or to kindly remind us (for the fourth time) that she needed us to make decisions. She was organized, knowledgeable, professional and, most important to us, always willing to offer her opinions, expertise and insight.
By the time the wedding arrived, we had high hopes of what it would look like, which was unusual given our lack of vision at the outset. That day we finally got to see the product of Kara's hard work, her dedication to our wedding and her desire to make our wedding what we hoped for, even if we didn't quite know what that was. We have such amazing memories from our wedding, and we will always remember how special it was, not only because of the people who were there, but also for the people who made it happen.
MOD Events, and specifically Kara, were absolutely flawless over the course of nine months and delivered our perfect wedding. I cannot express my gratitude, or my recommendation to work with them, enough. -

The Greatest of All Time!!!
Kara at ModEvents blew us away with her kindness, vision, and execution. My husband and I were not from Charleston, but knew we wanted to celebrate our wedding in this beautiful city. Kara was the best at guiding us with ease through what normally is a stressful process. She matched our personalities with the vision and it came together flawlessly. Our guests were raving for weeks about how beautiful our wedding was and how well this team kept the night moving. Communication was key for us, being from out of town, and we never felt out of the loop. We were well cared for and had so much fun along the way. We could not recommend this wedding planning group more. What a fun group of ladies!!! Thank you for everything you did for us. We are still on cloud nine! -

From start to finish, the entire process was flawless. Kara takes care of so much for you and your partner, and on the big day, she goes above and beyond in every possible way.
Not only are they a dream to work with, but they also never pressure you to spend more than you're comfortable with. They offer thoughtful guidance on how to get the most value out of your budget and help you avoid unnecessary expenses.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with both Kara and Kala from Mod Events, and we cannot recommend them enough! Kara helped us plan our original wedding date, and although we had to cancel and reschedule, she was incredibly responsive and supportive throughout the process. When it came time for our new date, we worked with Kala—and she was phenomenal.
Both Kara and Kala have such warm, bubbly personalities and were so easy to work with. They also had fantastic vendor recommendations and gave honest advice when asked, which we greatly appreciated. Kala truly went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. She was attentive to every detail, and the florals and overall design of the venue were more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. She took everything I described and somehow made it even better. Kala was by our sides throughout the evening, making sure we didn’t miss a single moment of our special day.

Peace of Mind in a Planning Vortex
I could not have asked for a better planning team!
When I picked a venue and a date 10 months out, I quickly started panicking at the million things we needed to get lined up in what felt like no time at all to do it.
If you're a Bride to be and you're spinning with anxiety - MOD eased so many stresses in our planning and day.
MOD worked with our crazy schedule for setting up meetings with vendors from lighting to food to rentals and so many things I didnt even think of!!
Their decor selection that they offer as part of the package included way more than expected including table numbers, vases, dessert displays, lanterns and more! This in itself saved my Husband and I hundreds of dollars. They made everything look cohesive which made our photos really feel like art.
Working with Hannah each month helped us stay on track (financially and with to dos) , but the best part was day of. I watched RomComs and ate snacks all morning and didn't once fret over what was going on at the venue , if things were getting done, or what it looked like because the MOD team understood my vision and holy crap did they deliver.
Kala also offers floral design. I know nothing about flowers, so I had a very open mind and kind of gave Kala free reign to match my wedding vibe with white and purple flowers. Almost a month later, people are STILL telling me they loved my wedding bouquet and all of the variety of centerpieces. The lavender roses really brought my whole aesthetic together and that was all thanks to Kala's incredible eye for floral design
So if you're wondering if a wedding planner and coordinator is for you, look no further than the MOD team. Your stresses will melt away, you'll be able to truly enjoy the best day of your life and I wish you every love and happiness in your adventure!! -

MOD Events literally became my fairy godmother. I am type A- very much a stressor and a planner- but not with Hannah. Hannah was unbelievable. Words cannot describe her. She orchestrated my destination wedding in which all 180 of my guests were out of town and she did it so smoothly, so perfectly. Not one hiccup. I was never stressed. Not once, I never had an opportunity to be with how amazing hands on and thorough she was throughout my 14 month engagement!!! She handled it all, and she exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Her whole entire team did. They are all fabulous, flawless. In fact, the morning of my wedding I did not like my makeup, and I tried to just hide it and push it away and redo it myself in the church bathroom (30 min before I was going to walk down the aisle) but the moment Hannah saw me and tore out of me what was wrong- she had found someone to redo my makeup within ten minutes of me telling her what happened. THEY WERE WAITING FOR ME AT THE RECEPTION HALL when I got there!!! I think she is magic. They all are. And I love them. You won’t find better than them ♥️♥️🥹🥹 -

Working with Kara from MOD Events Charleston was truly a dream come true. She was an absolute angel throughout the entire process, bringing our wedding vision to life and making sure everything ran flawlessly on the big day. We didn't have to think or worry about a single thing because she had everything perfectly under control, planned down to the last detail.
From her vendor recommendations to seamless coordination and communication, Kara made the entire experience stress-free. As a wedding vendor, who not only works with MOD Events but also hired them to plan my own wedding, I can not say enough amazing things about them! They are so sharp and so creative when it comes to planning. They have years of experience and REALLY know what they are doing. I leaned on them so much for helping coordinate with vendors, find vendors, design the layout and style of the wedding, and they knocked it out of the park. They were very hands on leading up to the wedding day and on the actual wedding day. From a wedding videographer perspective I also just LOVE working with them. They have referred our services to dozens of amazing couples over the past 7+ years and we are just so grateful for them. I consider the ladies of MOD my friends and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding planner! -

Kala at MOD is sooooo amazing!!! I could email/text her whenever and she was so quick to respond. She was helpful in keeping everything organized and handled all of the coordination with the vendors, which is a HUGE help. She also had great ideas for things that we did not think about. She's also so personable and felt like a friend at the end. The most important part to me was how helpful she was the day of the wedding. I did not want to have to worry about anything or be handling answering questions the day of & thankfully for Kala, I didn't have to do any of this. She made my wedding day such a breeze so that I could just be present in the moment and not have any worries and I'm forever grateful for that! I could not recommend MOD Events enough!!! My husband and I had the pleasure working with Kara. From day one, she made it so easy and as stress-free as possible. I was the groom at a wedding Hannah and her team planned, the whole process from our first conversation to literally getting back to the room after the reception was planned and seamless. The day of the ceremony I could actually enjoy the ceremony and reception without worrying about the schedule, having time to eat, or even get my own drinks. They had our requested drinks and a big plate of food ready for me and my bride immediately after the ceremony, kept track of my phone, wallet and sunglasses, got refills for my bride and I before I realized I was almost out, and even planned getting the gifts and pictures back to the hotel for us. Hannah and her team not only took any stress out of our wedding day, but made it much more enjoyable. -

Kara Hicks and MOD Events made all of my dreams come true. I don't even think my dreams dreamed what our wedding became at the William Aiken House. Kara was such an incredible resource and confidant. She was always straightforward and kind, and oh my goodness is she on top of it. Every piece of our wedding was delicately orchestrated.
As a couple who had a destination wedding in Charleston (live in Texas), Kara's vast resources in Charleston made our lives so easy. She saved us an enormous amount of time. Instead of us having to feverishly search the internet and look up vendors we liked, reach out, and then just hope they are available on our wedding date - Kara did at all for us. We received a list of 3-4 vendors of photographers, florals, hair/makeup, entertainment, and cake providers, who were already available on our date along with pricing. All we had to do was pick from the list. It was an absolute breeze.
On our wedding day, Kara and Hannah with MOD Events coordinated every vendors arrival, their set up, and timing of when our family and friends needed to arrive who were in the wedding. We didn't have to worry about a thing. We just got to enjoy every moment with the people we love the most. It was beautiful.
I will tell you, I went into planning our wedding assuming this would be a stressful and overwhelming process, because that's all I had heard and seen from my friends. We had a short window to get married too with our work schedules (whole thing was planned in under 9 months). Hiring Kara and MOD Events was the greatest decision we made. I couldn't have had a more opposite experience from what my expectations were leading into it, and that is all because of Kara. I am so beyond thankful. Hire her! You won't regret it! -

Kala with Mod Events was everything I dreamed and could have hoped for. Her attention to details, ease with making a stressful year & day stress free, & personality make the planning process so much fun to complete! Mod Events various packages allowed me to pick the one that best fit my needs & budget + her packages are very budget friendly & well worth the investment. She also offers florist services which allowed me to utilize her as my florist as well - and her flower arrangements were stunning!! Her vendor relations & recommendations allowed me to pick the best vendors & find vendors I may not have found on my own. Those relationships she had guaranteed I had the best vendor team for my day under my belt. I am so sad my wedding is over, but I know I have a friend with Kala for a lifetime - she was more than just my wedding planner. I cannot recommend Mod Events enough, my experience would to have been as easy or the same without them - check them out! -

I do not know where to begin! TEN STARS truly wouldn’t be enough for Kala and her Team at MOD events!
From the moment we met Kala, we knew she was meant to be our planner. I am a project manager for a living and was upfront when meeting Kala to say I need timelines, will require a lot of reassurance, have a lot of questions, struggle to delegate tasks, and am an organized freak myself - and basically asked her… can you handle me? Lol. She said yes and my goodness… did she handle ME and our wedding like an absolute ANGEL!
Kala was extremely knowledge and professional from day 1. I knew if I had a question or an idea, I could shoot her a quick message or schedule a call and she would give me all the answers and peace of mind I needed. The planning process was a dream with Kala because she really does hold your hand through the process, and I personally really appreciated and needed that (especially planning our wedding in Charleston from another state).
Fast forward to wedding weekend - everything went so smoothly. Couldn’t have gone better - magical and perfect to say the least.
1. I’ve never seen a rehearsal executed more efficiently
2. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing on wedding day - like 0 concerns (and if you know me that’s not normal) even with it raining on my wedding day, Kala handled it all and never once made me stress or worry
3. When I walked into my reception, it was exactly as I envisioned it, Kala and her team NAILED it - everything was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Having a planner to shares your vision as you go through the meet ups, walk throughs etc is KEY.
Kala and her team were by far our best investment as a vendor choice - I can not say enough good things or recommend them enough to anyone getting married in Charleston. If you are looking for a supportive, knowledgeable, responsive, efficient, and FUN wedding planner - look no further! Kala and MOD are THE DREAM TEAM. -

5 Stars Aren’t Enough!!!!!
My goodness - where do I even begin? From my first phone call with MOD events I knew they were going to be our planners and my right hand woman.
Kara is literally an angel on earth. She worked through everything with me with such patience - all my worries/concerns/questions/needing things explained again. Our wedding day was beyond fantastic and more than we ever dreamed. We feel so blessed, we truly hit the vendor jackpot, but we owe it all to Kara!!! When the first round of photographers weren’t really grasping my vibe, Kara went out and found the most AMAZING video and photo team who nailed our vision and then some!! When I was overwhelmed she explained everything over and over. When we had to ship things to Charleston she received it all with open arms and treated us like we were her only wedding this month meanwhile she had countless other events she was simultaneously planning for. 48 hours before the rain call when I was crying on the phone she eased my worries and consoled me better than my own sisters could, haha. She was so organized through the planning process and had everything I ever said noted down or engrained in her memory and her and Hannah executed it perfectly the day of.
I am a very Type A person, so handing off tasks is difficult for me, but I’d do it over and over again with the MOD events team by my side. I will never be able to thank these ladies enough for the wedding of my dreams!!! -

I could write a novel about how amazing Kara was in helping to plan and coordinate our wedding but will try to narrow it down to just a few examples! Charleston was a destination wedding location for us and we only had time to visit twice in between the trip where we toured our venue and the wedding weekend itself. Kara went above and beyond to make herself available for both of our trips and to make sure we maximized our time. She happily responded to my lengthy emails filled with questions and requests, and provided her expert advice when I needed it, all while emphasizing that it was our day and that our preferences mattered most. Over the months of planning, she ensured all of our vendors were on the same page with timelines and made sure nothing fell between the cracks - all with her cheerful, kind, and patient demeanor. When we arrived in Charleston for the wedding weekend, she went out of her way to meet up with us and take our reception decor off of our hands so we could relax and enjoy the few days leading up to the wedding. We also borrowed some beautiful pieces that were already in their decor inventory! On the actual wedding day, we received so many comments about how relaxed we seemed, and it truly was because of all of the hard work Kara and her team put in to make the day run so seamlessly. If anything went wrong behind the scenes, no one had any idea, and we were able to relax and enjoy all of our amazing food and dance all night with our favorite people. MOD also did our flowers which were beautiful, and they went above and beyond for us at the most reasonable price. The MOD Events team is incredible! We opted for their partial planning package and worked with Kala to bring our vision to life. Kala is such a sweet person and we felt like we were in great hands with her and the team. She is detail oriented and crafted our day-of itinerary perfectly. She did an amazing job bringing my décor inspo photos to life. We also used MOD Events for our florals. The team did an incredible job incorporating my favorite flowers as well as tropical greenery that pulled the entire venue together. Leading up to our wedding there was a significant threat of thunderstorms and Kala was there with a Plan B and C if needed which eased our worries (luckily the weather turned out perfectly). The day of our wedding Kala managed everything flawlessly. If something went wrong we had absolutely no idea, the day was perfect! We even heard compliments from our guests at how smoothly everything ran from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. We are so thankful we worked with MOD Events so we could enjoy our special day. We 100% recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in Charleston! -

We absolutely loved working with Kara and the team at MOD Events! They came highly recommended from our venue and choosing to work with them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. One of our concerns was that we were planning a destination wedding for our guests and we didn’t live in Charleston so we didn’t know how to find the best vendors other than via google and through wedding websites. Kara was able to work with us to find the best vendors and scheduled time to meet in person to help us pick out our rentals. She also made suggestions on items MOD had in their own inventory we could use that would work with our decor. At no point did Kara ever try to push us to spend more than we were comfortable with and offered great advice on rentals where we could actually save on. Whenever we had a question no matter how small Kara and the team were great at giving us their advice and thoughts. What was truly amazing was how great Kara and her team were the week of the wedding. We felt absolutely no stress and every detail was handled beautifully. Kara and her assistant helped us have the most relaxed day. We can’t say enough about how much they went above and beyond for us on the day of the wedding. If you’re getting married and want to hire a team you can trust completely to help you execute the wedding of your dreams please hire Kara and Kala! -

If you’re getting married in Charleston, PLEASE hire the MOD Events team! We worked with Kara for partial planning for our wedding and had Hannah with us on our wedding day too. Kara recommended and coordinated amazing vendors for us. MOD Events also did our florals and they were perfect – exactly like my inspiration photos and so beautiful! It rained on our wedding day and Kara was two steps ahead all day, making sure everything was perfect even with the last minute change of plans. If anything went wrong on our wedding day, we didn’t even know about it because they took care of everything. My husband and I were able to just enjoy the day and spend time with each other and our friends and family. We are so grateful to have had MOD Events for our wedding! They’re the BEST!! -

MOD events and their team did an absolutely amazing job! They worked with us leading up to the day, helped us pick, coordinate, and communicate with all of the vendors (it’s a lot of moving parts). Go with Kara and Kala! We had a destination wedding at Legare Waring House and worked mainly with Kara. She was absolutely incredible every step of the way. Read this review if you want to know more details, but the TLDR is stop your search and hire MOD Events!
Our venue required vendors for absolutely everything. She gave us just the right amount of options so that we wouldn't be too overwhelmed. If we didn't like any option, she listened to feedback and found exactly what we wanted. She took our priorities very seriously and was very flexible with her schedule. She never lost her patience with us when we went back and forth a million times on a decision or took too long to respond. She was always extremely kind.
We received discounts with many of the vendors thanks to MOD Events and we were happy were every vendor we had. All of them were professional throughout the whole process. Thanks to Kara, booking the vendors was an easy process and she was there to help and advice at every moment. We had a destination wedding so there were several events going on outside of the wedding. Kara helped us with all of that, recommending spots for the rehearsal dinner, brunch, spas, etc and giving us hotel room blocks which all of our guests used.
On the day of the wedding, Kara and Kala set up everything beautifully and perfectly. Everything was done on time and looked absolutely incredible. There were no issues on the wedding day and everything from our point of view was seamless, which means that Kala and Kara did their job perfectly! All of the vendors they provided us with were incredible and professional too. My sister officiated the wedding, but didn't actually have a license and even that was solved by MOD Events since Kala does have a license so she signed our papers! MOD Events also do flowers which is great because it's one less vendor to deal with and at a great price. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! In general, the ladies have great taste and all of the suggestions were spot on.
The most important thing is that you can trust Kara and that she communicates very well. We had a long engagement and at first, the response was a little slower. As the wedding got closer, Kara's response rate was super quick and she was always available for any question we had. She made sure communicate every detail with us, especially around pricing and we had no issues with the budget we had decided on at the start.

Charleston Wedding
Kara helped plan and execute the wedding of our dreams. Everything was so much better than we could have ever imagined. Her recommendations for vendors were spot on! I think the biggest testament to her work was how quickly she came up with a plan B for the impending hurricane with all our other vendors. If you’re currently looking for a wedding planner, your search is over because you won’t find anyone better!!! I really wish I could put into words how amazing Kala and Kara are. I worked with both of them for about a year or so throughout the planning process and they are both so organized, helpful, thorough, patient, and are really just so good at what they do. Our wedding went flawlessly thanks to them and we got multiple comments of how our wedding planner was “on it”. Seriously, no detail was missed! MOD Events did our florals too and they were stunning (also extremely affordable). Kala and Kara really made our vision come to life and working with them was the best wedding planning decision I could have made. I’m so thankful I had their help, recommendations, and expertise to make our day go perfectly and I could not recommend them more. They are truly the best around y’all!!!!! -

Made our dreams come true!
We hired Kala and her team to coordinate our wedding in Charleston. We were based in Texas so we really needed help determining vendors, etc. because we would never get the chance to meet anyone in person. She was FANTASTIC! Every detail was thought about and executed to perfection. When the only issue arose the day of our wedding she handled it and it suddenly was not a problem! My family commented on how they had never seen a wedding where something fell apart and I attribute this to Kala and her team! -

I am in absolute awe of MOD Events and all they did to ensure that my daughter's destination wedding In Charleston was absolutely flawless! I consider myself to be a perfectionist and it's usually hard for me to relax and trust others to take care of things. Kala and Kara took all those worries away with their attention to detail and organization skills. During the planning of our week-long itinerary of events, they were extremely knowledgable, responsive, and helpful. We made several trips to Charleston and they scheduled hair/makeup trials, tastings, and meetings with vendors. They even attended several of them with us. We had multiple in person and Zoom meetings with Kala. She is SO much fun and you can tell she has a passion for making sure your wedding is exactly like you imagine it. We exchanged lots of emails with both Kala and Kara and they were quick to respond. On the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about anything. I was able to enjoy the entire day knowing that they had everything under control. Hiring MOD Events was hands down the best decision we made when planning this wedding. After seeing what a great job they did and hearing me go on and on about how invaluable they were, my cousin hired MOD Events for her daughter's wedding too. Thanks MOD Events Charleston! Hire MOD Events it's a no brainer!
Kala and Kara are worth their weight in gold! I did a partial planning package with MOD events and it was a god sent! Kala and Kara helped me stay on track and on budget. They have great relationships with so many vendors and typically can get you discounts with their preferred vendors. There was not a single vendor they recommended that did not go above and beyond what we could have asked for. I think the discounts they where able to negotiate almost made up for their fee and defiantly surpassed the time and effort it would have taken us to toughly vet all the vendors in Charleston.
I know I gave all my vendors, including MOD events, a major task by having my 150 people reception at the aquarium. The venue that does not close to the public until 5 and our reception started at 7. Kala has done many weddings at the aquarium and knew to have a big team there for a quick turn around. Everything was set up exactly as I had dreamed.
Getting to know Kala throughout the process lead me to have no fears that everything was handled with her as my day of coordinator! I could relax and enjoy our big day knowing that any bumps that may, and more than likely did, happen would not get in the way of you enjoying one of the most amazing days of your life!
Kala and Kara would come to appointments with you wanted them to but would also step aside if you and your fiancé wanted to take the ball and run with it. With the partial planning package, anything I ran with Kala still asked to review contracts to be sure nothing was missed, this was helpful because of her expertise in the wedding industry.
Do yourself, your relationship, your family and your friends a favor and hire MOD events to help coordinate your wedding. I can guarantee you will not regret it! -

How do I put into words what Kala and Kara did for our day... In planning they recommended some of the best vendors that we got so many compliments on, they helped me stay on task and get things done in a timely manner, and they helped make our vision for the day possible. Weekend of the wedding they handled EVERYTHING - our flowers were stunning, better than I could have ever dreamed. They handled all vendor communication, fixed any issues (like they went and got the cake when I left it at the hotel), and made sure we were 100% taken care of. If you are getting married you need your fiance and Mod Events — and guaranteed it will be everything you could ever dream of. Kala and Kara THANK YOU - we couldn’t imagine our day without you and we feel so grateful to have found such amazing people to share our day with. If you need a wedding planner in Charleston or Mount Pleasant - act fast and book them, I promise it will be one of the best decisions you make.

I can't say enough about Kala and her team from MODevents! Charleston was a destination wedding for my daughter, so I was a little nervous about not being local throughout the planning process. From our first conversation with Kala, we felt so comfortable with her and her knowledge of everything Charleston--on top of that, her upbeat personality makes her simply wonderful to work with!
Kala was available to us on a moment's notice, and was not only well organized and detail oriented, but has a great eye for design--and could make suggestions that would work for the venue always keeping my daughter's vision in mind.
Kala was a great calming presence, she is unflappable! We had a small snafu right before the ceremony--the musician was not able to make the ceremony, and Kala quietly relayed the information to me, and handled it with a great option without missing a beat.
Kala has relationships with so many vendors in Charleston and was able to make multiple, really great recommendations, while at the same time, making cost saving suggestions.
I truly felt relaxed and able to enjoy our daughter's wedding because we were in the capable hands of Kala and MODevents. I would highly recommend Kala and Kara! -

I have never been the girl who dreamed about a wedding. I did not have a “vision,” and I didn’t know even a tenth of what was required to pull off a successful event -- and that’s a generous estimate. I did know that planning a destination wedding from 600 miles away would be impossible, and I reached out to a number of vendors, but from the first communication, I knew Kala was The One.
In my first email to Kala, I made some dumb joke about my cats, and my. girl. just. rolled. with. it. Over the course of a year, she kept me on track with what to do when, communicated and negotiated with all the vendors, saved me A TON of money, and was the first to reach out if I dropped “off the grid” just a little too long.
On the day of my wedding, my girl handled EVERYTHING -- even a last-minute location change when it started to rain literal before the outside ceremony began. There were no problems; there was no drama. I just had to show up in the right outfit and not forget the rings. I just can’t express how stress-free this all was.
And the flowers (she did those too)… When she originally asked me about flowers, I think my response was, “there should be flowers” or something equally dumb. I sent her a picture of a bouquet that I liked and was like, “something like this.” She did exactly that -- well, to be fair, she did it better -- and at a very fair price. She even threw in some extra flowers (at no cost to me) to make it special. They were gorgeous, and my bouquet lasted three weeks after my wedding!
Kala’s personality makes you think, this is a person who has found her niche. She is made for this career. She’s funny, fun, engaging, bossy when she needs to be (but always with that kind Southern charm), and an absolute pleasure to work with. I honestly think she knows everyone in Charleston, and I have no doubt if you said something like, “For the reception, I would like a guy dressed as a pirate who jumps through flaming hoops while playing the accordion,” she would respond, “totally. I know this guy Steve. Let me see if I can get him to knock off a few hundred dollars.” And BOOM. You’d have your Polka Pirate at a discount.
Kala was perfect for and with my family and me. Of all the choices I made -- from the venue to the food to even the dress -- she was the absolute best one. My only regret is that, now that it’s all over, it’s a little like losing a friend. Although I think if I invited her out for tacos and drinks when I’m back in town, she’d make time for it. She’s just that kind of person.
Oh! MOST TELLING OF ALL: she managed to pull all of this off with a newborn. That’s some next-level commitment there.
In short, hire ModEvents. Get to know this lovely, lovely woman, and rest assured your wedding will be in the best, most capable hands in Charleston. -

I was lucky enough to work with both Kala and Kara at MOD Events. I got the best of both worlds- Kara is thoughtful and organized while Kala is creative and spontaneous. These ladies make wedding planning look easy- they know all the best vendors and always responded right away whenever I had questions. I was so impressed with how smoothly everything went on my wedding day. They were a joy to work with and if you are planning a wedding in Charleston you should book them ASAP! I hope they still want to hang out with me now that the wedding is over. -

Guys. I’m hard to please. People that don’t do their job well drive me INSANE. Kala at MOD events is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!! She was my day-of planner, but went above and beyond with everything. She must have met with me 10 times before the wedding, met me at the rental company to help pick things, and did all of this while pregnant! My wedding day was STRESS FREE because of her. She had everything under control, ran the whole ceremony rehearsal, set up everything so beautifully, cleaned up at the end and packed my car with everything after I left. She even got in her car and drove around the neighborhood for 20 minutes looking for our drunk best man who was an idiot and left at 8 pm walking home in the dark 🙄. She is an angel and really cares about making your day the best day of your life. I am super picky and a perfectionist and she literally did everything perfectly. My wedding day was perfect because of HER! -

Where do I even start!? For a year, Kara helped me to plan my wedding. What she did was ABOVE AND BEYOND and I couldn't be more grateful. Every little detail was perfectly executed. She listened to everything that I said I was hoping for... and made it happen!
Fixing my dress bustle...bringing us food after the ceremony... keeping us on our timeline... and keeping me calm... she did it all! She listened and helped with every important decision, every silly decision, and all of the fun things in between! I never wanted a big wedding, but I am so glad we did this. People STILL can't stop raving about how beautiful it was and how smooth everything went.
Kala Williams (the owner of MOD Events) did our flowers for the wedding, and they were stunning! My bouquet was so beautiful. (She was so excited I wanted to use a lot of color, and really gave some great suggestions!) Kara and Kala helped with wedding vendor recommendations, and each one was top notch.
We have had multiple guests ask us who planned our wedding, so that they can also use Kara in the future! I would absolutely recommend MOD Events for any bride and groom looking to throw the celebration of a lifetime. :) -

She was responsive, friendly, patient, encouraging and always had good recommendations for how to design/create what I wanted. She was there for day-of ceremony to set up and brought my flowers to the beach house. She always was smiling and positive. A reliable friend through the day. She added some extra flowers and greenery to the tables and venue free of charge because she wanted it to look top notch. She allowed me to use some lanterns and even went above and beyond to place them in the trees for me as I had shown her in a picture before. A perfect coordinator and wedding planner! We had amazing compliments from our guests and they all had a wonderful time. Thank you MOD events!!

Anne Sent on 06/18/2018I will start by saying I don't think I can write a review to brag enough or show just how grateful I am for MOD Events! I can not say enough about Kala and Kara, not only as wedding planners, but as genuinely wonderful people! They are the absolute BEST!
From the first phone conversation with Kala, I felt like we had known each other forever! She was so responsive to emails, texts and phone calls.. no matter how often I bugged her! She saw my vision perfectly, and made every small detail exactly how I dreamed it would be.
The day of and days up to our wedding, my bridesmaids kept on saying they couldn't believe how calm I was. I even expected to be super stressed about having everything perfect that day, but with Kara there I felt super at ease and knew everything was going to be flawless! MOD Events also did my flowers.. they were absolutely ideal! From my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets, to ceremony and reception flowers... I could not have imagined them fitting our wedding so perfectly.
My wedding day could not have been any more perfect, and a HUGE part of that is due to Kala and Kara! Having them there through out the whole planning process will be the best decision you make! -
