Mike was very easy to work with. He absolutely exceeded all expectations in regards to our wedding video. He captured the moments in real time so beautifully and now we will forever be able to relive this special day, thanks to you Mike! Highly recommend Mike for any videography services!

Mike shot our engagement photos and provided video service for our wedding day. We couldn't be happier with the results! He is patient, professional, and pays attention to detail. Amazing Vendor - 10/10!

Mike and his team were absolutely amazing! They were easy to work with, brought a relaxed vibe to a stressful day, and always kept us laughing. They made posing for all of the pictures easy (which isn’t always the easiest with my husband). We both had genuine smiles and truly were able to relax knowing the team had everything handled.

The photos and video are phenomenal and I truly was blown away! I will cherish them for years to come. Mike was easy to communicate with, organized, professional and had the best attitude all day. He brought a sense of comic relief throughout the day that my husband and I truly appreciated. I can’t reccomend MJL enough - 10/10!

Excellent!

I cannot recommend MJL Photography & Film enough, Mike and his crew were absolutely exceptional. We took our engagement photos with him which were stunning, and today we received our highlights video which I am in absolute awe over. He is not only professional and accountable but he goes above and beyond with everything he does. He will also keep you laughing literally all night. I am so grateful that Mike was able to capture all of the moments of our special day. Thank you Mike for absolutely killing it!!! I 1000x recommend if you are looking for a photographer/videographer to hire Mike and his team you will not be disappointed.

Excellent!

Mike recently did the videography at our wedding in Newport and we were just blown away by his work. On wedding day, Mike brought a great energy, he is easy and fun to work with while also very professional. He makes you feel super comfortable as having so much attention on you can feel awkward but he definitely helps with that! He recently sent us our highlight video and I honestly cried more watching the film he made for us than I did on our wedding day. He captured so many great moments and puts it all together in a beautiful cinematic film. Honestly truly amazing work! Highly recommend! Book him for your next wedding, you will not be disappointed!

Best Wedding Photographer Hands Down!

Mike is amazing! From the moment we met with him to discuss what our visions were for our wedding we knew he was the perfect fit. We viewed some of his work prior to meeting him so we knew his ability to take a beautiful video and picture was there - we just wanted to make sure he could vibe with us- and let me tell you he did! And he did with our huge bridal party and 300 person attended wedding as well! His personality is so welcoming he made everything run so smoothly from finish to end. You truly would not be making a mistake if you chose to hire Mike- the only mistake you would be making is if you DIDNT hire him for the special day you want to remember forever. 10 out of 10- I will refer him forever. Kept us laughing the whole night

The best experience with photo and video

We used MJL Photography for photography and videography and both services far exceeded our expectations. Michael and his crew were amazing. Michael’s dedication to his service was radiant throughout the day. He went above and beyond to be sure he captured every moment of our day. He was efficient to get our pictures taken prompt. Michael’s calm personality was greatly appreciated on my wedding day. I recommend Michael to anyone getting married looking for the most beautiful wedding pictures and video.

We had mike for our engagement photos and wedding! Most amazing photographer and videographer ever! Mike is so kind and cared so much to take every photo/video we wanted! He does an amazing job and his work is incredible ! His whole team is amazing and caring and went above and beyond . I highly recommend him and his team to anyone!

My wife and I had our wedding on 10/14/17 and booked Mike Larson from MJL Photography & Films after seeing a lot of his work in research we were doing. We were looking for a certain style of video and photography and from the work we saw that he did, and when meeting him we knew we were going to be happy with his work. Mike is so passionate about his work that my words don't do it justice. We booked Mike for both video and photography as well as using him for our engagement photos. He also agreed to work out a contract with us that included an engagement style video. Do yourself a favor and check out some of his video and photography work because honestly words in this review truly do not do it justice. Any questions or concerns throughout the wedding process he answered and took care of it. He worked tirelessly on all of our stuff and the product was unbelievable. We want to thank Mike and his team for their hard work and dedication on capturing every moment of our special wedding day as well as the engagement photo/video work. I will definitely stay in contact with Mike and hopefully we can do some more work in the future together!

I absolutely loved our wedding photos and video Mike did for us! He puts so much thought, creativity and effort into his work. He is also super easy and flexible to work with, and is certainly a protectionist. All my friends and family were very impressed with his work. Highly recommend!

We booked MJL photography for my son’s Bar Mitzvah. Michael and his team were absolutely fantastic! We talked about what I was looking for during my first meeting and he not only met but exceeded my expectations. The photographer was so nice, accommodating and fun. He captured every moment. The pictures came out beautiful. I loved having them a part of my event.

I can't say enough about how great our experience has been with MJL. Both Michael and his assistant were extremely professional - they captured everything we wanted and more (beginning while we were getting ready and then all day and night at Castle Hill), yet we didn't even notice them on the day of the wedding. Following the wedding, Michael worked with us to make the end product better than we could have even imagined. We are so happy to have this video forever to re-watch and re-live the day they captured so beautifully.

I can’t say enough good things about Mike and his crew. My husband and I are so happy we chose him to capture our day. From our engagement photos, to wedding photos, to the video of our special day.. Everything was perfect! He was extremely flexible with our schedule when we were planning a day to take engagement photos. He captured everything we wanted, exactly how we wanted it! We are from NY and literally watched videos, looked at websites, and read reviews to find a photographer and videographer for our wedding. Michael J was the best decision we made!! We did our engagement shoot with him and when those turned out perfectly we knew we made the right choice for our wedding day. He captured every special moment as well as the feelings and emotions of the entire day. The wedding video and photos are everything and more. Hiring Mike as the videographer for our wedding was the best decision I made!! He has such a talent for capturing the feeling of the day and all of the important little moments. We heard about MJL Photography from family members who used him and were blown away! Look no further! Michael is accommodating, flexible, and on top of it all his videos are THE BEST!!! I had to have copies made because everyone I show wants one. The cinematic edition is one of a kind and will crush any expectations you have.

Mike was absolutely amazing. Once we met him the first time, we knew he was the one! He was very reasonable and so much was included in our package! We got two short videos and ALL of the raw footage. We also got an engagement session and hundreds and hundreds of beautiful pictures! Finally, we got a beautiful, quality wedding album! (This was NOT the case for any of the other photographers/videographers we looked at). Mike made us so comfortable. He was like a friend taking our pictures, and he made us laugh the entire time. From our engagement shoot to the wedding, Mike was always there through text, call, or email. Mike was always available and ready to answer any "bride panic questions/moments" I had. I gave him a list of every picture combination I wanted and sample pictures, and he did EVERY SINGLE ONE! He was organized and knew exactly what he was doing. We have recommended him to everyone and two of our friends are now using him for their weddings. We could not be happier with Mike and how everything came out. Our friends and family cannot get over how beautiful the pictures are and how much our video looks like a real movie. :) Thank you Mike for capturing the best day of our lives!!!!

MJL Photography and Film was absolutely amazing! I can't express how easy they were to work with. MJL responded to my initial inquiry within hours and answered all my questions. As soon as we booked- I never looked back! MJL's team was professional, personal and friendly. They captured my wedding day through photography and film so my husband and I can literally re-live the day any day of the week.
Our final product of photos, films and our beautiful wedding album are something out of a magazine. MJL has an eye for perfection and his work shows it! MJL thank you!!!

One of our best wedding decisions was choosing Mike and his team to do our photography and videography. Mike has the best personality for this job- he's is so easy to get along with and there are no awkward moments with him, even when he's sticking a camera in your face. We did an engagement session months beforehand and the pictures came out incredible. Mike has such an obvious passion for photography and you can tell he is proud of the work he does. He lets you see glimpses of the pictures throughout the day and constantly asked us if there were any shots in particular that we wanted. Our family loved him- my photographer-wannabe mother is still raving about how he took her on as his apprentice for the day and taught her all kinds of tricks. Mike is laid back and easy to work with, but also professional and reliable. We can't wait to see our wedding pictures and video!!

Hiring MJL to video our wedding was the best decision we have ever made. They were able to capture our magical day and create an amazing wedding video for us. To say our pictures and video left us speechless is an understatement! We are so in love with everything Mike did!!! If you want amazing, beautiful pictures and video that will capture every moment of your big day, then you have to hire Mike!

Michael was a pleasure to work with! He was professional, fun, easy going and creative. He made me feel at ease when I'm usually uncomfortable being video taped. I can honestly say that going with MJL for our videography was one of the best decisions we could have made. When we first met with Mike, I knew that we were going to get along perfectly. You could tell he loves what he does, and still gets excited about new projects.
Prior to the wedding day, I didn't give Mike much direction, as I just wanted him to have free creative reign - and I'm glad I did.
In addition to the full length video, we opted for the 15 minute cinematic trailer. I loved that this was an option, because you can show off your wedding video without making someone sit down to watch 6 hours of footage! Seeing the video, it surpassed my wildest dreams of what it could have been. It was so moving - so touching - that I couldn't help but well up with happiness when I saw it. To be honest, I cried like a baby, hahaha. It told a story. Our story. And I am so happy that I have this beautiful masterpiece to call my own, and show so that everyone can get a feel for that wonderful day.

I am so glad that we booked Mike for our wedding photography. He did an amazing job capturing every moment of our wedding day. Not only that, but he even provided some "therapy" on the wedding day when the timeline wasn't going as planned! I almost had some tears but Mike was able to talk me through it and let me know that everything would be fine and that he would get all of the photos we wanted, no worries. He basically saved the day because I was about to ruin my make-up and probably say some things that I would regret! He was able to keep everyone in the bridal party comfortable and made sure to keep things light hearted and easy going. It's hard taking pictures for a long time, and he made sure to keep things go but also give some breaks so our pictures didn't look forced or lackluster. I received all of my photos within the promised timeline and they are GORGEOUS! He truly delivers great candids, along with beautiful posed family pictures. I should also mention that our engagement pictures were also by MJL and Mike was super flexible with our ideas and the photos were also beautiful from the engagement session. I highly recommend MJL photography & films to all brides. He is awesome!

I would, hands-down, recommend MJL to anyone seeking videography services. We were very much on the fence about getting a videographer, given that expenses were adding up for the wedding, however it was probably the best decision we made regarding the entire wedding weekend. Everything goes by so fast and you miss so much of the action, so when I received the very high-quality, quickly delivered, amazing video from MJL, I could not stop crying. Mike exactly captured my day the way I wanted to remember it. There were some stressful moments that day, but he remained cool, gave me space when I needed it, and worked so well with everyone in the wedding party. He was very punctual, responsive and everyone who has seen the video remarks on the "Hollywood" quality of it, putting other wedding videos to shame. The best part was the cost. Unbelievable product for the cost...it was refreshing to have a reasonably priced wedding vendor! My favorite part was his use of speeches and emphasis on showing my family members and showcasing the dancing and all the elements that were important to me. People have remarked that they have watched the video multiple times because it is such a great reminder of the day. I love the use of powerful, yet elegant music for the trailer and emotional (but not cheesy) music that sets the perfect tone for the long film. The use of aerial shots added an element of breathtaking drama to the video that is unparalleled in other video samples I have seen. Again, given all of this, I can't believe that he was able to turn around both videos so quickly. I am a very picky person and I am 1000% happy with putting the most important day of my life in Mike's hands to document, package, and present to all my family and friends.

Mike was awesome! We wanted someone professional and fun for our photographer and that’s exactly what we got. My husband and I were planning our wedding from out of state because we recently moved and Mike went above and beyond to work with us. Much more than what we signed up for in our contract. He was even willing to meet in person with my parents (as we were out of state) to discuss pricing and show them his previous work and portfolios. He was always quick to respond to email and easy to reach by phone. He even met up with us a few times in person when we came home to plan. We were also really impressed with how affordable everything was and the value was fantastic.

He was energetic throughout the entire process. Completely open minded with any ideas that we had for pictures and also used his own judgement capturing some great shots. Even on my actual wedding day, it ended up being so hot outside and the air conditioner broke in the bridal suite. He figured out what was wrong and fixed it, literally saving my sanity! I would highly recommend MJL photography to anyone.

Mike was fabulous to work with for
our wedding videography! From the very beginning he was very professional, so easy to get in touch with, and always very quick to respond to my emails. The day of my wedding he arrived on time and was so fun to work with. He captured the most amazing shots without us even realizing he was videoing. Our wedding video is better than we ever imagined it to be. Every aspect of the day was captured to the fullest and I still cry every time I watch it!! You will not be disappointed with Mike if you hire him for your wedding video. We were very impressed!!! Reasonably priced too!

Michael and his assistant Eric were a pleasure to work with. We had a great time with out engagement shoot and the pictures came out beautifully. Michael came up with a lot of great ideas for the day of the wedding. He had my check list in his phone and made sure that we didn't forget or miss any shots that I wanted. He was great with the family shots and got through them very quickly, which made them very happy. I haven't received the pictures yet but she few he sent me were great. I am very happy and glad that we booked him. We also bought our photo album through him and I can't wait to get it!

I wasn't going to have a videographer until I saw Michael's work. I was moved to tears watching a wedding video Michael (MJL Photography & Films) made of a friend's wedding. After watching that, I made a deal and let my husband keep his second motorcycle, just so I could add a videographer into the budget…although the videographer was much less expensive!

Michael and his employee worked diligently during the wedding to capture so much more than I even realized until I watched the video. He is charming and will put you at ease, which is especially helpful if you don't like being in front of the camera. Thinking back to that day, beyond the frequent laughter we all had with the wedding party and Michael and our photographer, we hardly new they were there. They were professional and captured everything while being seemingly invisible.

After the wedding, I didn't get much of a chance to talk to Michael about things I might want in the video or the music I'd like so I was a bit surprised when he said the videos were done. I was a little apprehensive because I didn't provide much input but after watching the videos, I realized I didn't need to. Michael is absolutely gifted at videography and while I didn't use him for photos, I've seen his work and he is amazing at that as well. I have only shown people the shorter version of the film so far and everyone has been blown away and was even told it was the best wedding video they've ever seen. I am so very thankful I came across Michael's work and that he was able to film our wedding. Take a few minutes and check out his website, you will be absolutely hooked as I was!

My fiancé and I were blown away at Michaels keen eye for detail and creativity. He is so much fun to work with. We had such a enjoyable time taking our engagement photos with him at Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard in Newport, RI. Mike made us feel very comfortable and it showed in our pictures. They all came out so natural. We cannot wait for our Wedding day and can only imagine what a beautiful job he will do on our special day. We would recommend him to any bride and groom.

Words cannot describe how happy I am to have chosen Mike to be our photographer. He was very laid back and so relaxed throughout the process. He was flexible with our budget and answered any and all questions I had. I knew going in to the day that he knew exactly what I was looking for and he would know exactly how to make us feel comfortable. He somehow "blended in with the crowd" as so many of our guests said (nothing is worse than the photographers that are annoying and seem to be everywhere you look) but he also managed to be super personable with our friends and family- making jokes and talking away. I asked him to get a shot on the wedding night and he had already taken it. That's the kind of photographer he is. He knows exactly what you want and delivers before you can even ask for it. He got our pictures to us so quickly and even touched up a few and Photoshopped some things on a couple of them to make sure I was 100% happy with the final product. He truly went above and beyond. He captured pictures of things I never even had the chance to see. I am so impressed with everything he did and cannot say enough positive things about him. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone!

We used MJL photography & film for both services photography and videography. We loved the final product for both and the price was affordable. The pictures were beautiful and loved what he was able to capture! Mike was very easy to work with and always made me feel comfortable right from the beginning. From the first time we meet, to answering many of my questions thru email or text till the day of the wedding. I remember we had lots of laughs the day of the wedding when doing pictures with the wedding party and just our pictures! We truly felt so comfortable with Mike! This review has been long overdue.... My husband and I got married last August 2013. Michael Larson and his team were very professional but at the same time, very easy and comfortable to work with. He really captured the most memorable moments from our wedding day. He took so many beautiful photos--not only are they crisp, high quality but most importantly, they tell a story. To this day, we still get so many compliments on our photos!! He kept tight communication with me and my husband throughout the entire process and was very open to our ideas. He has a creative eye, passion for photography, and his price is very reasonable. We're happy we hired him as our photographer!

I got married in August of 2013, and hiring a videographer was a last minute decision. And I am so glad I did; I am even happier that I hired Michael Larson. I chose him for his very reasonable prices for full day video coverage, and after seeing a few video samples from previous weddings, I knew the price wasn't sacrificed with quality. Michael arrived on time, was very professional, but also laid back; he knew exactly what I was looking for in my wedding video and it showed in the final result. Upon delivery of the video, we were able to re-live the day again.. It was perfection, the highlights of the day combined with background music and blurbs. I am so delighted, and would highly recommend Michael as a videographer!! I have seen his photography as well, and I just wish I had used him as my wedding photographer as well!!! We had the opportunity to have MJL Films and Photography film our wedding day. We could not have been happier with the service he provided for us! We used MJL Films and Photography for my wedding in April. My husband and I looked for a long time and had given up on the idea of having a videographer at our wedding. We just couldn't find someone that was up to date with videography. I didnt want to feel like I was watching a video from my aunts wedding I was in 15 years ago. We wanted a CREATIVE video to watch for years to come.
Literally 2 weeks before our wedding I contacted Michael after a recommendation from my photographer. Michael rearranged his schedule to make himself available for our Friday wedding.
The day of our wedding was the first time we had met. Michael and his brother showed up looking completely professional and ready to work. I could not say one bad thing about these two. They captured our day better then I could have imagined. They kept in mind all the ideas we had talked about over the phone and ran with it. I recommend them to EVERYONE I know getting married because I don't think anyone should "give up" on finding a videographer that they will love, like we almost did. You will never regret hiring this amazon duo to capture your special day!

Michael and his assistant were the only vendors that did their jobs properly the day of my wedding. In fact, he helped me stay calm when my photographer went to the wrong location and was late at picture time. What a great job he did all day, he was extremely accommodating when my groom changed his location bc of a bow tie malfunction several times. Nothing was a problem with Michael. I would highly recommend his services! He made my wedding enjoyable and that's alot to say about a videographer! Also, his prices for the quality and service you receive are unbelievable! All this said and I still haven't scene my video yet- I'm sure it will blow my mind! Thanks Michael!! You truly saved the day:)

As soon as DH and I met with Michael we knew we wanted him as our videographer. Michael is courteous, professional, friendly, and responsive to all inquires. I just received my wedding video from Michael and I cannot say enough. We received a two disc box set, one was a highlight reel (which is a great recap to share with the family) and then a longer version that we can enjoy on our own. I would recommend Michael to anyone looking for a videographer!

We hired Michael as our main photographer, not videographer (i know that he's doing more of the latter these days) and couldn't have been more pleased with the way that our photos came out. Michael is definitely a bit different from many of the photographers we talked to - he has a laid back style and made us feel very comfortable in both our engagement photo shoot and during our posed shots during our wedding day. One of the important things for us was that we have a generous helping of candid photos throughout the evening - we made this clear and Micheal over-delivered in this area - there are so many shots that are perfectly captured that it makes you wonder how he got the timing just right. Overall the quality of our pictures are just amazing - that was what originally stood out when we compared his work to other photographers we were considering - there's a real artistic quality to many of them. We also appreciated the fact that he didn't try to up-sell us on a larger-than-needed package w/ albums, etc. We just wanted the pictures and the rights, and he was happy to oblige with that type of setup.

Very good experience, would recommend

Michael shot our engagement photos himself, which turned out amazing. He is very friendly and made us feel comfortable during the shoot. On the wedding day we had James and Mike for photographers, and Steve and Kevin for videographers. They were great to work with, flexible with the craziness of the day, very skilled and came in with a plan. They did a great job getting all the shots we specifically requested as well as guiding us through additional shots they knew would look good. Michael kindly gave us a few sneak-peak photos just a couple weeks after the wedding, which was great, until the full photo gallery was ready a couple months post event. We got so many good photos and so many to choose from. Michael got us back our videos faster than expected and was good about making minor changes that we requested. The cinematic video was stunning, they did an incredible job with the cinematography and styling. Would highly recommend. To note: our package included an engagement shoot, and 2 photographers and 2 videographers on the day. Would highly recommend booking your photo and video for at least 8 hours. Michael was an AMAZING photographer. He did our engagement and wedding pictures and we could not be happier. He worked with my desire to get a very 'naturey' feel, while also making the sure the shots show-cased our love. He was especially fantastic when I first got ready for the wedding. Mike's work is so beautiful and he captures a lot of different shots from posed to candid, photos of my guests to all the intricate work that went into decorations and food and they are all amazing. I hate getting my picture taken so Mike did an excellent job getting the shots that I can look back on and remember everything about my wedding, he got all my guests plus all the ltittle details and memorable moments (the beading on my dress, the exchange of the rings, etc) Mike has an amazing talent and manages to get the most beautiful pictures and the whole time he makes it comfortable and not stressful which is the last thing you need on your wedding day. Overall my husband and I are very happy with our experience with MIke as our photographer. I definitely recommend Mike to anyone who is looking for quality pictures and a photographer that captures every moment of your special day at an affordable rate.
