Working with Kelly and the Mixology crew was an absolute dream! They were so professional and had so many helpful suggestions when it came to the music throughout the day. Mixology provided a classy jazz trio for cocktail hour, a beautiful pianist for the ceremony, and the most fun dance floor for the reception! They kept the party going! The only thing I regret is not spending more time on the dance floor!! -

Having good music was something that was especially important to us when planning our wedding, but Kelly, Lindsay, and the rest of the band absolutely blew all of our expectations out of the water when we heard them on our wedding day.
Kelly was so easy, kind, and responsive to work with throughout the entire planning process and made it as stress free as it could have been for us. When we realized literally a week before the wedding that we had no plan for ceremony music/AV, he made it happen, setting up piano, sound, and even what our family members needed to play a song for the ceremony without missing a beat. The music was seamless and continuous throughout the entire day, from piano at the ceremony to jazz at cocktail hour to the reception music.
And the reception music!!! This band is SO GOOD. They learned three songs for us for our first dances (and one was bluegrass-y, one was jazzy, so entirely different genres) which they crushed. Then came the dance floor - everyone kept raving to us about how good our band was. Were we at a concert or a wedding?! It was hard to tell, in the best way possible. Lindsay's voice is so gorgeous, and the band kept literally all of our guests on the dance floor the entire night. We had so much fun.
So truly, if you are looking into bands for your wedding, stop looking right now and book Mixology. You seriously won't regret it - this was one of the best decisions we made when we planned our big day! -

We hired Mixology for our wedding last weekend, and they were incredible!! I truly cannot say enough good things about them. Not only are they incredibly talented, but they played songs that totally matched our vibe, keeping everyone on the dance floor all night. The band leader, Kelly, was super responsive, organized, and thoughtful throughout the planning stages. They also setup the sound system for our ceremony, played our ceremony songs, and played during our cocktail hour - everything went so smoothly. I wish we could get married all over again just to use Mixology's services again. 10/10 recommend them!!!! -

Kelly & the rest of the band were a pleasure to work with! Leading up to the wedding, Kelly was easy to communicate with, listened to our tastes and dislikes, and were able to learn a few special songs for our night! They even learned a song I requested with 2 weeks notice, that was pretty awesome! All of our guests have been raving about how talented Mixology is. They kept the dancing going all night, even during their break. We would definitely recommend them for your event and hope we can see them play again at another event! -

Mixology was an amazing band. They played everything from Pachabel's Canon in D for the ceremony to Leon Bridge's Beyond. to Sinatra's Fly Me To the Moon. The final request was a song that they had never played and they played it like the pros they are!! You would be lucky to have them! We all danced all night! -

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Mixology as our wedding band! They sounded absolutely incredible on stage, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed all night long. Their ability to read the crowd and play the perfect songs at the right moments was truly impressive—our guests couldn’t stop raving about them.
We were initially hesitant about booking them after hearing they had a new singer, Lindsay, but she completely blew us away! Her talent and stage presence were phenomenal, and she exceeded every expectation. She truly added something special to the night.
On top of their amazing performance, the band’s professionalism stood out. Kelly was incredibly helpful and gave us the time and space to figure out what we wanted. He asked thoughtful questions that helped us plan details we hadn’t even considered, ensuring everything was seamless.
Mixology played a huge part in making our wedding day unforgettable, and we’re so glad we chose them. They’re simply the best! -

Mixology was a perfect match for our Portland Maine wedding. They easily accommodated our rooftop ceremony/cocktail hour followed by the reception down the street. Kelly was so easy to work with and really helped capture our love for music into our wedding day. My husband even got up to join the band for two songs which was such a treat for our guests! We are so thankful that we found Mixology and that we got to share them with all our friends and family. Book this band, you won’t regret it! -

We were so fortunate to have Mixology for our wedding! They exceeded all of our expectations in every way! Not only did they provide the perfect entertainment for the reception, but they also provided our piano ceremony music and jazz trio for the cocktail hour! Kelly was super communicative and provided guidance as needed along the way. At every step of the planning process we knew we were in good hands. My husband and I didn’t leave the dance floor all night - their energy was unstoppable and carried over to our after party too. Everyone was on the dance floor until the last note was played. They also read the room perfectly and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. They helped create a magical day and one we will never forget 😁 They are an exceptionally talented group of musicians and if you are lucky they will have your date available. Excellent wedding band. I would re-hire them in a heartbeat! They learned 3 new songs for us without any hesitation. They performed during our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception - everything was perfect for the setting and they adapted based on crowd noise. Kelly and his team took our wedding from good to great. Its stressful booking a band, and Kelly took all of the stress out of that. They communicated well, took our suggestions on the few songs we wanted, brought a few extra members at our request, were amazing during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then crushed our first dances and reception. Mixology was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding! I can't rave about them enough. The level of SKILL of these musicians is amazing!! Kelly was SO easy to work with, he worked with us to make sure our day was what we envisioned!! They were accompanied by a trumpet and saxophone player, and I was just AMAZED. The solos!!! EVERYONE was on the dance floor! Some wedding bands play the same kind of songs and their energy stays the same throughout the evening, but not Mixology! Susie Pepper sang LOVE ON TOP by Beyonce (with 5 key changes) and jumped around all night in HEELS!! This band is so beyond impressive and I would highly recommend ANYONE CONSIDERING to book them. Thank you thank you thank you Mixology !!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Phenomenal partner during the planning process and performer to keep the party going.
We hired Mixology for our Fall wedding and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Leading up to the big day Kelly was easy to communicate with and made the planning stress-free. Originally we asked them to just play during the reception, but when we changed our mind last minute they made it super easy to add ceremony & cocktail hour entertainment, which I highly recommend! They really brought down the house after dinner and played banger after banger to keep our rowdy crowd on the dance floor ALL night. Countless people, including musicians and self-proclaimed “professional wedding guests”, went out of their way to tell us how amazing the band was. If you’re looking for a good time and to work with good people, you won’t regret booking Mixology. -

Mixology made our wedding day! All our guests were on the dance floor all night long having a blast. So many of our guests raved about the band. In addition to making the night so fun, they were easy to work with, communicated well, provided suggestions, etc. Highly recommend Mixology if you are getting married in Maine! -

I truly cannot recommend Mixology enough. I had never expected we'd have a live band at our wedding -- truthfully wedding cover bands can sometimes feel a bit cringey to me. But trust me when I say Mixology was the absolute highlight of our wedding. Their talent is unbelievable and their song choices were perfect for the crowd. From the time they started to the very last song (which was after at least 2 encores -- we couldn't get enough) they had all of us in awe. The ceremony music was beautiful, every transition period was handled perfectly with no awkward silence, and we danced harder than I could have imagined at the reception. Truly the best vendor we hired!! -

Exceptional!
All 5 talented musicians of Mixology brought so much joy to our daughter's and son-in-law's October wedding day in Bar Harbor. Before playing a wonderful set of songs that pulled everyone onto the dance floor and kept them there for the duration of the reception, Susie and Kelly cantored at their wedding Mass.
It was clear from the start they knew exactly what to do throughout the Mass, elevating the ceremony with Susie's angelic voice and Kelly's considerable piano-playing abilities. The music was truly something special and added a fullness and meaning to the wedding ceremony.
I agree with 100% of the other great review comments left by others who've also had the pleasure of working with the band for special events.
You can try, but you won't find a better band than Mixology anywhere!

The Mixology team was on point with every detail on our wedding day - set a very classy scene at the ceremony, good vibes at the cocktail hour, and absolutely brought the house down during the reception. Kelly was super responsive with every question/request we had and the whole crew was very professional. You could tell that they love the music they were playing.
Our first dance was "This Must Be The Place" by the Talking Heads and they made it into an all time moment for us. They also played "Good Lovin" and I came running in from the pier to hit the dance floor. Everyone had a great night and Mixology brought the energy! -

We searched in bigger areas like Boston for wedding bands, but none felt like a good choice for us. We had one Zoom session with the more local group from Maine, Mixology, and just from their fun, gracious personalities decided we had to book them. And to our delight, not only are they great people, they are incredible musicians. They are the complete package. They played beautiful, more traditional piano during the ceremony, perfect background music during cocktail hour, and absolutely rocked the reception. They are experts at reading the room -- every song they played made people dance, jump, and sing along. Guests kept commenting on how awesome this band is! Additionally, they learned our first dance song, and their version was even better than what we had hoped for. Not having to think about the music helped us to truly enjoy the day, and be 100% in the present moment! We can't recommend Mixology enough. -

Hiring Mixology for our wedding was, hands down, the best decision! Kelly's communication and expertise made the planning process so simple and fun. Even through a Covid-related postponement, Kelly handled all logistics with empathy and attention to detail. He was very responsive with an ideal mix of flexibility and offering the benefit of his past experiences. He was always willing to provide suggestions and kept us organized.
Mixology was with us for the duration of our wedding day. They played piano for our ceremony, acoustic jazz for cocktail hour, and packed the dance floor all night during our reception. They also provided a mic so our ceremony could be heard by all. It was such a relief knowing from the moment they showed up that all things sound and music were taken care of.
This band is ultra-talented and our guests were raving about them at every turn. More than that, they genuinely love what they do - and it shows! It truly felt like they were having a blast the whole day/night.
Susie's vocals put everything over the top. She kept the energy up and was the perfect MC for the evening. The band's song selection was also perfect! They were able to read the crowd and keep everyone excited and engaged. One of our wedding guests said he could barely find time to leave the dance floor for a drink or bathroom break because the band just kept playing "bopper after bopper!"
Overall, great musicians and great people! Hire Mixology now! You won't regret it. -

I found Mixology online when searching for vendors, and the demo of their songs blew me away- especially Suzie's vocals on "At Last." We met in person will band member Kelly before booking, he was responsive, friendly and attentive to our questions. The band was so easy to work with, willing to learn songs for our special night and gave us no difficulty with rescheduling for COVID. Mixology was professional and experienced enough that we trusted them to play songs that worked with our crowd, and they nailed it. Our guests were raving about them during the wedding and weeks after. One guest said whenever they sat down for a break from dancing they had to get up moments later for another great song, another guest was impressed by the age inclusive song choices, and I, myself was impressed by their ability to read the room and deliver! -

Mixology is unbelievable! A key thing for us when planning our wedding was how responsive potential vendors were and Kelly Muse of Mixology was awesome at getting back to every email we sent. Our main goal for a wedding band though was finding quality musicians. We are so happy we found Mixology!
Kelly was able to provide sound equipment for our ceremony and run sound during it, which was very helpful and something we added later on. Mixology provided a jazz trio during our cocktail hour outside, which was perfect. Suzy Pepper introduced us into the barn for our reception with excitement while Kelly ran sound which was music clips we selected prior. During dinner Kelly was able to manage our playlist that we created, which he ran off our laptop through their sound system. For our traditional dances, the whole band played songs of our choosing. Then for our reception, the whole band played mostly dance/pop/rock tunes and it was so fun! Suzy engaged with the crowd and kept the energy up the whole time.
In the end, Mixology was able to learn and play 4 songs that were not on their list online. They seemed excited about the opportunity to learn new material and did an amazing job with the songs. We did tell them what songs and artists not to play from their list online, and they followed our request. The quality of detail, talent, and energy they provided made our wedding so memorable. We are still getting compliments about our wedding band and friends of ours even hired Mixology for their wedding this year! -

Hiring Mixology was the BEST decision we made during our wedding. Kelly & Susie did our Catholic wedding music, which was absolutely beautiful and well executed. The full band was absolutely phenomenal during our reception- they are absolute professionals and so talented. We loved the way everything flowed during the reception, from the announcements, to the first dance, to the speeches. Our wedding guests are still talking about how special it was to have this band perform at our wedding and we can't stop talking about them either! I can't speak highly enough about Mixology and would encourage couples not to hesitate in hiring them for your special day. -

Mixology was the band for our wedding this past weekend and they were absolutely amazing! I highly recommend. People have been talking about the band for days and how they have never seen a wedding with such a high percentage of people dancing all night long. Some were feeling rather sore the next day, but that is a definitely a sign of an epic night. They were all very nice friendly people, the piano for the ceremony was perfect, everyone loved the jazz trio, and Susie’s voice was amazing! People have actually talked about Kelly’s voice as well, but Susie sure blows you away! Prior to the wedding, Kelly was also extremely easy to plan with, responsive via email and everything could not have been simpler (something I greatly appreciated with all of the wedding planning chaos). Overall, they were easy and wonderful to work with and they performed the greatest evening we have every had. Highly highly recommend. We could not have been happier. The night was incredible and they were one of the biggest reasons it was so great. -

We can't even begin to describe just how incredible Kelly and Mixology was to work with - from our initial inquiry 10 months ago through the end of our wedding, Kelly made everything seamless and fun. He was extremely responsive, and shared so many wonderful ideas with us that helped make our wedding truly personal and magical. Whenever we had an idea for our big day, Kelly worked with us to make it happen - including Rick Rolling our guests during our ceremony and reception :) Kelly also graciously worked with one of our dear friends who is also a vocalist and invited him to join the band for several songs, which made our experience even more personal. When it came to the actual wedding, Susie's voice was incredible. She sang during the ceremony and brought tears to everyone's eyes. She also kept everyone dancing all night - even before dinner was served, the dance floor was packed! Mixology was not just our wedding band, they were part of our wedding and made everyone at our wedding feel part of the fun too. We cannot recommend Kelly, Susie, and The Mixology band highly enough! -

I spoke to many bands before making my choice and by far Mixology was the best choice. From start to finish Mixology was easy to work with, flexible and all in all, could flat out perform. The proof is in the singing and they did not disappoint. They played for much longer than I had anticipated and brought all of their gear down to a small island in Maine without any issues or complaints. The professionalism exhibited by the entire group was impressive. I couldn't imagine having a different band at my wedding. If you hire Mixology you won't be disappointed. -

Alana Sent on 09/05/2018We booked Mixology after hearing a friend rave that she would "get married all over again just to dance to the band (Mixology) again." We booked them without ever even hearing them play - this was probably the best decision we made in our entire wedding planning process. Kelly was wonderful to communicate with, timely with responses and always accommodating. While he was open to any request we had, he also really didn't need any guidance from us (in fact, we needed it most from him). He was able to answer questions about day of timing, give ceremony and processional song suggestions, and arrived early to set up and give our officiant the in's and out's of the PA system. Susie was a wonderful MC throughout the wedding. We did not have a day of coordinator, but we gave a timeline of the day to the band and she announced and directed the order of events in such a wonderful way. In regards to the music, these guys are so talented and so fun. We didn't create a playlist for them as the band naturally reads the crowd and plays the music that keeps everyone out of their chairs and dancing. I'm not quite sure how they did it, but they played a mix of music that everyone from age 6 to 60-plus loved. One of younger guests was sharing her 8th birthday with our wedding date, and Susie took the time to sing happy birthday AND 'Let it Go' from Frozen to her. Needless to say, the 8 year old declared it the 'best birthday ever!'. She and my 6 year old niece were handed tambourines from the band and 'played with the band' the entire night. My niece was in awe of Susie and still has not stopped talking about her. And lastly, talent aside, one of the best things about this band is that they all just seemed so genuinely happy to be there and playing together. We didn't at all feel like we were just another wedding in their long line up of summer weddings. Their joy and energy level made the night - we highly recommend them! -

Taylor Sent on 06/02/2017Mixology made our wedding day. From the ceremony piano music to the cocktail hour jazz and the reception dance music, everything was incredible. Kelly was so responsive and helpful throughout the process. He was so accommodating and understanding even when we made a change to one of the special dance songs the day of the wedding. Susie has an incredible voice and the instrumentals are great. At one point, everyone in the room was dancing and it stayed that way through much of the night. All of our guests raved about the band. We are several hours north from Portland so our fee was likely significantly more than a local appearance, but it was worth every penny. I hope to find a reason one day to hire them again! You will not regret hiring Mixology if you want great ambient music and a killer reception.
