La Lomita wedding with Mistura

When you plan a wedding for over 250 guests, you want a caterer who will treat each guest like they are special. That's what you can expect from Mistura. We had a sit down dinner and the food was as delicious as it was beautiful. The wedding and reception was held at La Lomita in February and we were beyond impressed and our guests are still talking about it.

Art and food

They are now called Mistura! We had tasting on our visit to SLO back in December. We met with Jacqueline and Nicola (the chef), and tasted the delicious and beautiful food at their restaurant Mama's Meatball in SLO. And dare I say, oh my god, the food and the alcohol pairing was beyond what I had imagined possible for wedding food! It was a little over our budget, but we still went with it, as food is a big part and priority of our wedding - to make sure that our guests are wooed by the food and happy and full by the end of the day.

Very excited to eat Mistura food again on our wedding in August. Will come back and post more photos. :)

Top notch food and service. They catered our daughters wedding on July 7th 2018. From our initial tasting we knew we were in great hands,. Their food and menu was fabulous, and many of our foodie guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Their staff was so professional and nice, even though it was the hottest day and they were working in the heat. They were on time, and their presentation was beautiful. HIGHLY recommend

We had the chance to first meet Jackeline and Chef Nicola in February of 2014 when we went to Santa Barbara to finalize the our wedding plans (we live in Calgary, AB so we were planning the wedding from a distance). Our wedding planner (Nicole Chapman) drove us out to San Luid Obispo where the couple have their restaurant (Mama’s Meatballs) and where we had our menu tasting. We proceeded to have a three or four hour tasting of everything that we wanted to include at our wedding and it blew our expectations out of the water. The food was so delicious and got us even more excited about the wedding. Our guests are still raving about the food at our wedding. Hiring Haute Catering is a must do if you have your wedding in the Santa Barbara area!

Jacqeline is the front person who you will be working with, while her husband is the chef. The food is superb and the staff is truly of professional caliber. I insisted on no food warmers due to the toughening of food that results from their use. Nothing worse than bland traditional wedding food. The meal I requested was complicated with subtle flavors. Haute Catering was able to produce the gourmet requested quality without any hesitation or mistakes. Further, corrections in spicing and cooking times were immediately instituted without any egotistical refusal or sabotage. The service, dress, and professionalism of all staff was superb. Complaints - no one is perfect... Jacqeline can be somewhat unintentionally controlling due to who knows what reason and is a saleswoman of too obvious proportions! Subtlety is not her strong suit when selling all she has to offer! However, a firm and honest discussion when dealing with her will result in a good working relationship. Otherwise, all is perfection!

My husband and I are big wine and food enthusiasts. So when we were planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted a high-end wedding, and the food and wine to be excellent. As big LA foodies, our standards were pretty high.

We made a tasting appointment with Haute Catering, and did not need to go anywhere else. We immediately knew they would be our caterers. Our tasting was delicious, and Jackeline was so genuine and caring. We live 3.5 hours away but we never had a problem with communication or ever worried about anything because through the whole process, Jackeline was always there for us. Every detail was taken care of. From the tray-passed hors d'oeuvres, to the seated dinner, on our actual wedding day we were blown away by the opulence of the presentation of the food, it was like art. The rentals were also taken care of, including decorative rentals. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and our guests were beyond wowed by all the beautiful details and the food was the highlight.

We are so happy with selecting Haute Catering for our wedding. We cannot express how amazing everything was. It was truly the high end experience we wanted from start to finish!

Jacqueline & Nicola were heaven sent. I'm the MOB but from the first meeting with Jacqueline and Nicola we were able to fine tune the menu into exactly what we wanted to represent us to our family and friends.
People and still calling to say the food was outstanding and the service no less than perfect. We're food and wine people so it had to be great, not your typical wedding food, it was and didn't break the bank ~ just a small crack!

Not only did they make sure the bride and groom were happy and well taken care of they also made their parents as important, that to me speaks volumes.

Professional, creative, easy to work with and flexible. No matter your budget you must give them a chance. You'll be happy you did.

Let’s just say right off the bat, Mama’s Meatballs is amazing, especially Jackeline. Every aspect of our interactions with them was phenomenal. It started off with the most amazing tasting session either of us had ever experienced. We expected to have a couple of dishes off of the menu. Instead, we were fed for *three hours*. Everything was beyond exceptional, and it was great that we got to try a little of so many dishes because it actually changed our minds about some of our selections. We were also really excited about the gelato bar and s’mores option! In addition, we were surprised to find how affordable their prices were. Jackeline also was extremely helpful in ordering our linens and various other elements that we needed for our outdoor wedding. In the end, she provided several more hours of her time to help us get everything just right with our linens, heaters, decorations, and timeline. The day of the wedding, the whole Mama’s Meatball team worked like a well-oiled machine. Everything was ready at precisely the correct time, and everyone raved about how delicious everything was, from the appetizers, to the dinner and also the desserts! It is worth noting that Jackeline attends every event they cater to make certain everything goes smoothly. In contrast, some of the other caterers we considered did not have a single point of contact, and instead you are contacted by the person who will manage your event just a few weeks before it is supposed to happen. Working with Jackeline one-on-one meant that she really got to know us. She found out we were both DJs in college, and went to the trouble to find a vintage record player and records online for decoration and to serve the appetizers on. She also made a music themed menu for each place setting, which really tied everything together beautifully. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend working with them if you ever get the chance. They made our wedding amazing, beautiful, and delicious!

Hiring Mama's Meatballs was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. They accommodated an early morning tasting and served some of the most delicious food we have ever eaten! My husband and I travel a lot and live in Los Angeles so we are privy to many excellent meals and Mama's Meatballs is one of the ones at the top. They worked very hard to help us create a delicious menu that our guest, and ourselves, would enjoy and exceeded expectations...our guests STILL tell us how amazing it all was. On the day of our wedding, again, they exceeded our expectations. Their staff were very professional tending to each guest as if they were the highlight of the evening. The food was prompt, delicious and extremely fresh! At the end of the night Jackeline and Nicola personally thanked my husband and I for allowing them to be part of our day and left us with two plates to go, some dessert and a split of champagne to take back to our suite - we couldn't have picked a better caterer for our day! I hired Mama's Meatballs Catering to do my son's rehersal dinner at our home for 95 people. I wanted a pizza oven, but it was so so much more. The food was perfect. Pizza, pasta, salad, passed appetizers and all of it was so delightful and yummy.

But it was not just the food that was impressive. The staff was top notch. During the planning they reviewed everything, rentals, glasses, type of coffee cups, layout. They were on it and contacted me when they saw something not quite right. They even helped with the table decorations with suggestions. I really appreciated having that extra attention in the planning.

The serving staff were professional and prompt. They arrived, setup, served, cleaned up and then they were gone. They even went out of their way to find my gluten free guests in order to deliver them a gluten free pizza and explain the remaining menu with them. It meant so much to my guests. So professional.

I would recommend Mama's Meatballs for any type of event. I just can't explain what a wonderful evening and meal we had that night.

From the start Mama's Meatball, made my (now) husband and I feel like family rather than clients. At the tasting they were extremely generous, providing a variety of other choices apart from what I had chosen and everything was delicious! From choosing Mama's to the day of the wedding it was wonderful interacting Jackeline, she is so sweet, has a lot of great ideas and is extremely easy to work with. The night before our wedding Mama's catered our rehearsal dinner, they brought in a pizza oven and made crepes with gelato everything was delicious. After working a long night the night before our wedding, they put together an amazing presentation the next day! All of their staff was extremely professional and kind to our guests. Everything was perfect! I can't tell you how many compliments I received from my guests after the wedding not only how delicious everything was but how everything was displayed. Jackeline worked some magic and displayed our welcoming beverage drinks on an antique ladder and our gelato at the end of the night was displayed perfectly next to an antique sewing machine. All of the small touches were so more than what I had imagined. I can't imagine my wedding without picking them as my caterers!
I am truly grateful to Jackeline, Nicola and their amazing crew!

When choosing a caterer for our wedding, we knew that we wanted to go with a caterer that produced good authentic Italian cuisine. In the Central Coast there is only one caterer that comes to mind, Mama’s Meatball. Mama’s Meatball continually surprised us through the whole planning process of our wedding, might I add which was only three months. Our first meeting was with the actual owners of the business, Nicola and Jackeline Allegretta. Both Nicola and Jackeline were so organized, professional and passionate about our wedding. We told them our budget and they told us they would make it happen. My husband and Nicola designed the menu together to satisfy my husband’s traditional Italian favorites. According to my husband, everything tasted as if his mom cooked it.

Not only was the food amazing, but the actual preparation, organization, execution and clean up went seamlessly. If it was not for Jackeline and Nicola’s expertise and help along the way, we do not think the wedding would have gone the way it did. Jackeline also assisted with design/décor. She helped me with ordering the linens along with all the rentals. Any questions I had she had an answer. She helped coordinate everything so I never needed to worry. They both truly had amazing work ethic!

Honestly, it was the best day of our lives and could not have imagined it any other way. The day was absolutely perfect and we are very thankful for the Mama’s Meatball team.

Thank you Nicola and Jackeline for an unforgettable wedding!!!

We had a rehearsal dinner for 65 people at a sweet little winery here in San Luis Obispo. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Mama's Meatball. We knew when it came time for the kids to start the exciting, yet sometimes overwhelming processes of choosing a wedding caterer for their wedding it would be hard for them to choose. Living on the central coast we are blessed to be surrounded by so many great choices! These kids may be young, but they know food. The menu, presentation and service had to be top notch. After having just one meeting with Jackeline they had completely made up their minds. We had the absolute pleasure of using Mama's Meatball Catering for not only our son's wedding, but also for the rehearsal dinner and bridal shower too. Not only did we have incredible food, wine, presentation and service, but Jackeline and Nicola made use feel like a part of the Allegretta family.

Bottom line: Most important to us was to see nothing but the look of joy on the bride and groom. We saw nothing but pure joy on their faces from beginning to end! We owe that pure joy in large part to Jackeline, Nicola, and their wonderful family. We can't thank you enough. BRAVO!!!

Many people do not know that Nicola Allegretta went to culinary school in France. He grew up in Italy. His menu range knows no bounds. His culinary skills are not only masterpieces, but good for the soul! We have had the opportunity to host world renowned chefs in our kitchen. We can honestly say non can hold a whisk to Nicola! Nicola did an outstanding job with the appetizers for our wedding. I cannot emphasize enough what delicious food comes out of his kitchen! He provided us with a beautiful assortment of food for our cocktail party reception at our home and our guests enjoyed every bite! Overall, the best cater for any event, especially your wedding! My husband and I were blown away at how Mamas Meatball went above and beyond our expectations in every way! Jackeline and Nicola are so wonderful, worked within our budget, were super flexible, understood the look of our wedding and even handmade a table to complete the look. Not only was the staff and service outstanding, the food was delicious. My family has restaurants in Italy, Chicago, and California and everyone was totally impressed with the presentation and taste of the food...believe me, not an easy feat. Working with Jackeline and Nicola was so delightful we decided to use them for our rehearsal dinner too. We didn't have time to view rehearsal locations. Jackeline recommended a location and again worked within our tight budget. Again, we could not have asked for more. People said all weekend that it was the best rehearsal and wedding they had ever been too! We want to throw another party just to work with them again. I highly recommend mam's meatball for your wedding and even your rehearsal dinner!

I could leave an entire review about how delicious Mama's Meatball's food is, but as soon as you arrive for one tasting, you will see for yourselves! It is truly homemade amazing deliciousness!!!! Most Importantly! Jackeline and Nicola Allegretta and their entire waiting & bar staff are absolutely the BEST! From the moment we went to taste their food and met Jackeline, we immediately felt her kindred spirit and true desire to make our wedding special. We walked away from our meeting with her knowing that they were the ones we would hire - and they did not disappoint! She and her husband are both such wonderful individuals to work with - always positive, pleasant, and hardworking. Jackeline came to the wedding all smiles, and gave us the biggest hugs and congratulations, and Nicola personally delivered a small reusable picnic basket with two servings of leftovers, wine, and truffles for later along with a huge hug and congratulations in both English and Italian! All our wedding guests were buzzing about how spectacular the food was, and how polite and professional the staff was. We couldn't have been more happy with our decision to choose them. Its as if we hired a friend to cater our wedding - they were so personable and caring. As soon as we booked them as our caterer, Jackeline was immediately in touch with our wedding planner and venue to make everything perfect and did whatever she could to lessen the stress on my husband and me. There were so many small details that she went above and beyond what we had in the contract, just because she wanted the best for us on our wedding day. She truly made the most positive impact on our entire wedding experience. Even when we were filled with nerves and not quite hungry, she had a staff member always close by to make sure we ate, and the food was so delicious we cleaned our plates! On top of how wonderful everything was, Mama's Meatball was so reasonably priced compared to other caterers we had contacted!

When selecting three vendors to visit for food tasting, I initially hesitated to include Mama's Meatballs on the list simply due to the name. We wanted fine dining wedding food, and the name Mama's Meatballs sounded more like a caterer for birthdays, graduations and anniversary parties with delicious home cooking flare...little did we know! When we had our three caters lined up, we gave them all very simple instructions: "We're from San Francisco. Just wow us!"

Chef Nicola's background was impressive, and I had this nagging voice that told me "don't judge the book by its cover (or name) and be open to life's surprises." Dish after dish our eyes began to widen, our mouths salivated, and our appetites grew. We were in a state of shock (and very pleasantly pleased) that they took our simple request to heart in a very serious way. When we looked across to the next couple who were also doing food tasting, we recognized that their food was different from ours. We really appreciated that they catered the food tasting to each couple's needs based on budget and type of food requested.

Our families all loved the Italian dishes - from Chilean Sea Bass to mango-stuffed duck breast - we selected. Everyone told us our wedding was "amazing, stunning, and the best food they have ever had!"

In addition to Chef Nicola making our wedding deliciously unforgettable, Jackeline also played an important design/decor role in making our wedding details memorable. She created/personalized our menu, and surprised us with a personal touch of beautiful wooden chopsticks to connect to something familiar for my side of the family. She made the wedding planning as if she were planning her own wedding - with a lot of love, beauty and thoughtfulness. They even borrowed / took down their friend's door to use as food station table decor, and even pack a picnic basket of food to send us off!

Mamas Meatballs were the BEST!!! Jackeline and her team went above and beyond to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. She was so easy to work with and truly understood our vision and helped us accomplish all of our goals for our special day. I just loved working with her so much! She not only helped us with all of our linens, but she also folded all of our napkins!! She was amazing!! I don't know of any other caterers that do that for their brides at no extra cost. She is just fabulous!
Besides all of the help they gave us in preparing for our wedding, the food was OUTSTANDING!!! My husband and I went in for our tasting knowing that we would go with Mamas if they food was even somewhat tasty because it fit into our budget. Once we started eating, we could not believe our taste buds!! How could something that good be so affordable?! We were sold. After the wedding we received SO many compliments on how tasty the food was. Our guests keep raving about the butternut squash gnocchi. In addition to the amazing food, I was also blown away by the presentation. Jackeline honestly has such a knack for style because she made the food look almost as amazing as it tasted :) (almost!!).
I am so thankful that we went with them for our wedding. It truly was a blessing having the opportunity to work Mamas and I know our day would not have been nearly as perfect without their help. Brides- going with Mamas Meatballs is a must!!!!!!

Mama's meatball did an incredibly wonderful job. We had an outdoor wedding in Templeton the it was hot and had gusty winds, which was good and bad. They were perfect on everything including improvising like when the wind would knock over different decorations and when our guests started showing up early. We highly recommend them for any occasion and especially weddings.

The Mama's Meatball Family was great to work with! Our wedding guests loved the food, the staff was very attentive. Everybody loved Johnny, he was always around making sure everything was going well and everyone was eating and drinking!! He went above and beyond and we greatly appreciated it! Jackeline was very helpful with the planning and making sure every detail was in order all the way up to the day of. Mama's Meatball had me hooked from our initial meeting at the tasting I has set-up via email. Jackeline was so friendly, accommodating and the food was delicious. She was professional, prepared, and able to provide me with a custom menu and pricing before we left. That was a detail I truly appreciated!

Our wedding was slightly unique as we were hosting it in the backyard of a family friends home. In order to accommodate our guest list in the smaller space, we chose to host a cocktail style reception rather than a traditional seated dinner. That said, we still wanted people to feel as though they got a full meal, and not leave hungry. On top of that, I wanted an event that was unique, fun and that no one would ever forget.

Of all the caterers I spoke with on the central coast, Jackeline and Mamas Meatball was the only one to really seem to capture my vision. She helped us develop a menu that would work for the space, keep the flow of the event moving nicely and to really be unforgettable. In addition to tray-passed appetizers she conceptualized 3 chef-manned stations, a pasta station, grill station and salad station. For the toast they created a champagne sorbetto, and for dessert, a gelato bar.

Leading up to the event, Jackeline communicated with me frequently to answer any and all of my questions, and to help me to keep organized and on-top of things. She helped me pick out service-ware that would not only be convenient for the event, but also stylish. She, and her event coordinator did a venue walk-thru with me the weekend before our wedding and that helped beyond words to finalize the details and make me feel more confident than ever that the wedding would be a success.

The day-of wedding, I still cannot believe how wonderful Mamas Meatball made everything. Jackeline surprised me with so many beautiful detailed elements that truly made the reception a success! They put so much care into making the displays gorgeous....fun details like chopsticks, Chinese take-out boxes, hand-written signs, fabric, table runners, wooden furniture, and so much more really made for a fun and unforgettable food service! On top of the beautiful set-up the food was delicious. Handmade Mini Meatballs, Arancini and Assorted Bruschetta were the tray passed appetizers. A crisp mixed green salad and roasted beet salad were served in martini glasses. The pasta station with butternut squash gnocchi with cream sauce, chicken ravioli with vodka sauce and tricolor pasta with pesto...all with assorted cheeses for topping.... were the rave of the party. Skewers of chicken, steak, calamari, shrimp and vegetables were served hot-off-the-grill, with homemade sauces for topping. The champagne sorbetto was an unexpected treat for the toast that had everyone talking, and the homemade pistachio and vanilla gelato was amazing.

The service from the Mama's Meatball staff was impeccable. The set-up was smooth and quick. The bartenders were friendly and kept the line moving quickly. The chefs were fun and interactive. Every member of their staff was there to lend a helping hand whenever needed...and went above and beyond to make every guest feel comfortable and taken care of. Not only that, the space was kept clean by their staff the entire night, and after they finished their clean-up after the party, you could hardly tell an event had taken place. The place was spotless!

Top cap-it-off, at the end of the night my new husband and I were presented with a picnic basket from Mama's Meatball that included packed up leftovers, snacks, chocolate, champagne and champagne glasses, and a handwritten note of congrats. That small and thoughtful detail really exemplifies the warm, family-style service you receive from Mama's Meatball from beginning to end. I cannot recommend them enough!

We absolutely loved working with Jackeline at Mama's Meatball fine catering! Our wedding turned out amazing and we owe a huge thank you to Mama's Meatball for that! All of our guests raved about our food that was served at our wedding and the service was very professional! I would highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli (this was a favorite) and their meatballs for an appetizer are amazing!! We could not have been more pleased with how our dinner was served family style with a plated salad as the first course to 180 guests in a very timely manner! The chicken piccata was amazing too and the caprese skewers!!
I am one for detail and everything Mama's Meatball did definitely exceeded my expectations! Jackeline said she was going to provide a welcome station with water! This turned out to be a beautiful display of halved oranges (about 50) laid out all over the table with three huge water dispensers with cut up fruit in each one. Each water dispenser had a small frame in front with the fruit handwritten inside the frame letting guests know what kinds of fruit were in each one! It was absolutely beautiful and very welcoming for our guests!
I would highly recommend Mama's Meatball for any special event as their food is amazing and their service is simply the best! Jackeline was truly a joy to work with as she is so warm and enthusiastic! She was always available with any questions and I always looked forward to meeting with her!!:)

Thank you Mama's Meatball and Jackeline for truly making our wedding day a memorable and joyous occasion for us and all of our guests who traveled so far!! We look forward to seeing you when we come back to visit San Luis Obispo and eating at our favorite restaurant...Mama's Meatball!!!!:)

We were so blessed to have Mama's Meatball cater our reception! Nicola was so amazing... the food was all fantastic - the chicken picatta was moist and flavorful, all the dishes were served hot and so delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed my wedding dinner and everyone was talking about how great the food was. The waitstaff was truely a pleasure to have attending to us. They were efficient, friendly, and always aware of what was needed. We could not have asked for a better experience. Jackie was the best to work with regarding all the details leading up to the wedding. I knew I was in good hands since she gave such personal attention and care to the planning process. She thought of things I would not have even known to ask about. Best ever!

I am recommending Mama's Meatball to all of my friends who are getting married or having a big event locally.

We couldn't even imagine how wonderful Mama's Meatballs would turn out to be at our daughter's wedding. I would recommend them to everyone. We decided not to use a wedding planner and Jackeline went above our expectations in helping us. Never have I ever had such a well-organized and professional vendor as Jackeline and I have worked 12 years in VIP services in the casinos. If you want your wedding to be perfect and not to worry about anything Mama's Meatballs should be your caterer. The food is five stars, Chef Nicola made everything fresh and dishes melted in our mouths. All their staff was excellent, I can't say enough about Mary and John!!!!

Im so glad we chose mamas meatball, from the very begining of the planning stage, to the attention to detail on the big day, i could not have been happier. Our guest's were so impressed with not only the delicious food, but also the warm and caring staff. They were so professional and attentive. The entire staff was incredibly professional and we love that Mama's Meatball is so family oriented. They treated us like we were part of the family. The food was fantastic! We continue to hear great things about the quality of food and service from our guests. They loved it as much as we did!

We got married on August 13th of this year and my husband and I are so impress with the professionalism of Mama's Meatball. Jackeline and Nicola made the night magical. Their staff, the presentation and the food was amazing. Our guests are still emailing and calling about how great the food was. We would not change a thing. We consider them family now. Mama's Meatball was beyond perfect. The staff was warm and helpful, the presentation was incredible, the food was delicious, the clean-up was thorough. From the very beginning, the sweet and lovely Jackeline went above and beyond for me. She helped plan, coordinate equipment, brainstorm centerpieces. My wedding would not have been the same without Mama's Meatball. Let me tell you about the wonderful evening we had with you for our son's rehearsal dinner at Mama's Meatball. My bridegroom son gave old mom TwoThumbsUp and that is surely the understatement of the year. The room presentation...the gracious and attentive service from dear Claire... and the food !!!!...WOW...especially those Ravioli de Zucca (my personal favorite ) and then that glorious gelati that was presented so beautifully to accompany my Philadelphia TastyKakes !!! There was just such a wonderful feeling that night, and I know that the local folks who had not been to Mama's before are sure to return. I just wish I weren't 3000 miles away . Mama’s Meatball is our favorite Italian restaurant so they were our first choice to cater our wedding. Not only were they more than accommodating with my menu changes and weather issues, the service was beyond excellent and the food tasted amazing.

Mama's Meatballs was so great to work with for our wedding! We were in constant communication to make sure everything would be perfect for the big day. The food is the best Italian I have tasted in California and all the guests loved it! From the appetizers to the salad and entrées, everything was perfect. The serving staff was friendly. One word-Amazing! Mama's Meatball Catering went above and beyond to make our wedding day amazing! The food was wonderful. Their food is so delicious... My guests remember that detail of our wedding. Nicola was so wonderful to us and was a kind business man. He was honest and very accomadating to our needs. His wife Jackeline helped us coordinate our event. She was very detailed and always stayed in contact with my husband and I regarding our wedding event. The staff was very happy and we enjoyed their company as well. I was suprised by the generosity of the staff in making sure our guests were happy as well as us the bride and groom :) I am so blessed to have had Mama's Meatball Caterer our wedding. My Wife and I were more than excited and pleased with the service of Mama's Meatball. They really made it possible to have a "worry-free" reception, I knew the children were going to be happy and every adult had feel in love with the food and said "Who did your catering? This food is amazing!" So if anyone is in doubt or having trouble deciding what food to have for there special day, or where to go... Mama's Meatball is the long and short of it. Seriously I love there food, my wife and I eat there every time we take a trip to san luis obispo, also a huge plus is the people. They are so welcoming and understanding and totally make you feel like you are apart of their family. The Pork alla Melle is my favorite, but you really cannot go wrong with anything they have, seriously.

My husband and I along with our families were very pleased with everything about Mama's Meatballs! From the delicious food to their being on top of every little detail making sure nobody had to lift a finger! There was a misunderstanding regarding who was supplying the coffee cups. I thought they were but apparently we were supposed to. Once Joey their head server found this out they immediately went and purchased some. We LOVE JOEY! He made sure our drinks were never empty even though we had bar tenders too. Amazing service with a smile! Our guests are still raving about the food! We were on a budget and they made us feel like royalty! The absolute best! Thank you Mama' and crew for putting the cherry on our special day!!!

We have known Nicola for a few years and asked him to cater our wedding. The food was amazing and everything was ready on time with no hassle. He came and set up during the ceremony and was ready right when we wanted him to be. He had a wonderful serving staff who were very friendly and upbeat with all my guests. Everyone loved dinner!

The food was absolutely wonderful. It was the highlight of the event, in my opinion. Nicola invited us down to his restraunt to try a bunch of food for free to pick the menu. Everything was wonderful, especially the brushetta and salmon.

Haute Catering totally exceeded our expectations. They provided bartending, wait staff, and dessert for our wedding. They went the extra mile in every single way, and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone.

The wait staff helped move around the patio umbrellas to keep the guests in shade. They did a great job serving out the appetizers and refreshments and picking up afterwards.

Jacqueline helped us come up with a BevMo order list, arranged for the delivery, and then arranged to return the unopened bottles back to BevMo. The bartenders made delicious cocktails (I wish I had had more!). The desserts were arranged beautifully and were very tasty. The lines for seconds and thirds attested to that.

Working with Jackeline was like having a consultant on all things related to the wedding. She made sure every detail was fulfilled. The food selections were just phenomenal and more than we had expected. The display of food, taste and quality from Chef Nicolas were beyond excellent.
It was a relief to be able to relax on the wedding day and know everything was in good hands. We had welcome drink stations, a champagne bellini station, freshly cooked flatbreads straight from an outdoor oven, gelato, bottles of flavored milk and cookies, ridiculously delicious appetizers, a superb sweet station & carving stations for the meats. It was over the top amazing. You would think Mama's Meatball Catering would be over the top in price, but let me tell you after researching the area, they are extremely reasonable for all they offer.
You will not be disappointed and if you want your guests to talk about your event for years to come, then they are the caterer for you.

My husband and I could not be happier with our wedding caterers, Nicola and Jackeline at Mama's Meatballs. Not only was the food amazing and beautifully presented, the service was friendly and professional. They made us feel like we were part of the family. We feel like our wedding was absolutely perfect, in large part due to the great service provided by Mama's. Our wedding guests are still raving about how great the food was at our wedding. One of our favorite things about our wedding was the late night pizza, fresh out of Nicola's mobile pizza oven!

Mama's did a great job and our food was awesome. Also they don't just do Italian, we had an awesome Tri-Tip dinner with 4 different sauces/salsa/toppings to go with it. The appetizers were so good and the head waiter brought some over to us while we were taking portraits. The servers were all very professional and the day went smoothly. At times during the planning process Jackeline was slower to respond because of the amount of weddings they do in addition to running a restaurant. I felt confident going into the day that the caterers knew everything they needed to to execute their part of the day and they did. I would totally recommend them to a bride that was having her wedding in SLO county.

Everyone from the coordinator to the chef and down to the servers were fantastic throughout our planning process and during the day of the wedding. The food was not only delicious, but served and presented well. The head server was attentive and kept us on schedule without being pushy or intrusive. They were flexible but mindful of our time/budget as well.

I would definitely use them again, and enjoy eating at the regular restaurant as well.

The food was delicious and well presented. Catering staff helped with other duties like the cake and making sure the tables had water filled, extra glasses as needed, etc. Fun to work with and flexible to work within our budget. Nicholas, the owner, added his own creative ideas to stay within our budget while offering the food experience we wanted for our guests. Hooray for a caterer you can count on!

One word: YUM! Vivienne and Nicola at Mama's Meatball are great. Very sweet people and very helpful. They went above and beyond on the wedding day and even helped our coordinator set up tables, etc. They also packed up some appetizers for the wedding party to take down to the beach during our bridal party photos so we didn't starve. All the service staff were very nice and professional. The only negative thing was that we had them set up outside and the day ended up being really cold, so the plates got cold, which cooled the food a little. That was more of our fault than their, though. Overall, HIGHLY recommended. Much better price then Giuseppe's with as great of food. Go to one of their locations for dinner one night!

I really can't say enough wonderful things about Jackeline and the team at Mama's Meatball! Nearly 6 months later, I am still hearing from our guests: "The food at your wedding was absolutely incredible! It was so hot, so fresh, and so flavorful. I'm still craving it."
During the planning, Jackeline answered my 100,000,000 questions and emails, met me at our venue to discuss linens and was so receptive to all the changes I made. At our reception, our maitre d, Shelly brought a new hot plate of delicious food to my husband and me when she realized that we had gotten up to chat with guests and that our food was getting cold. They even sent us home with a picnic basket, 2 adorable to-go boxes, chocolates and a sweet thank you note.

Mama's Meatball really is so attentive to details. They strive to give their clients what they want, and they succeed with warm and friendly customer service and incredible food. I loved working with them!

Mama's Meatball is a delight. Jackie, our main point of contact, is so loving and obviously cares a lot about what she does and about making sure that her bride/groom's weddings are the dream weddings they want to have.

We needed to have an entirely gluten-free wedding because four members of our wedding party (myself included) could not eat gluten. This is a daunting task for a caterer, and Mama's pulled it off extremely well. They even made us our favorite little tapioca breads, pandebono! The food was delicious. Almost everyone raved, and even those who didn't rave (our more picky eaters ;) were satisfied and found plenty to eat.

Jackie even brought out two special treats for us on the day: a lovely tea station with beautiful and delicious teas; a picnic basket at the end of the day with dinner for us in case we hadn't eaten much during the event (which we hadn't... though we ate more than we thought we would because our coordinator, Joyfully Joined, recommended to us by Jackie, made sure we ate).

Their service was fantastic, professional, kind... I honestly cannot say enough. And even when we weren't sure how much ice to buy on Friday (for the wedding on Saturday), Jackie gave us the main chef's (Nicola) number so we could ask his advice. We called him, and he laughed pleasantly and helped us figure it out. This is great service.

The only drawback was in the responsiveness category. The week before the wedding, Mama's was extremely responsive and would absolutely get five stars. Leading up to the wedding, however, there were times were we were worried that they hadn't received messages and were waiting for responses. Jackie knew that this was a concern and always acknowledged it and apologized when we spoke, which I appreciated.

The fact is: they are in high demand (for good reason) and are very, very busy. This can make them hard to reach. But they are really good at what they do, and they will absolutely take 100% fantastic care of you, and you really do not need to worry if you don't get a call back right away. :)

If I ever need catering in SLO again, I will absolutely return to Mama's without hesitation. They are wonderful.

First the food was wonderful and very attractive.
The preparation was fast and unobtrusive.
The service was perfect. AND the staff so freindly and fun.
We did a heavy appetizer rehearsal dinner and it allowed guest to mingle and meet more people and the staff from Mama's added to the fun.

I'm very happy that we used Mama's Meatball for our wedding. AMAZING MEXICAN FOOD: We were looking for a vendor to make mexican food for us, served family style. Mama's Meatball seemed to be an odd choice but as soon and my fiance and I finished our tasting he was ready to book. They made the most amazing mexican dishes with high quality ingredients and taste that made it hard to choose a favorite. PRICING: The overall pricing was slightly less than the other full service caterers. Only one company was less but did not have the mexican entrees we wanted. My 1 suggestion for improvement is to be clear about tasting charges. I was asked to come in for a complimentary tasting prior to getting a quote then I was charged $50. If you book the charge is removed so the tasting is free. I also asked for a bartender from the beginning and assumed the charges were under the service fee so the fee on the final invoice shocked me a bit. SERVICE: The day of our wedding the service staff was great. I marked stars down on service because the end results (and day of service) were stellar but the planning process wasn't as smooth as I would like. There was a few month gap (more than 3 months) during the midst of wedding season that I could not get a hold of anyone to send me an updated invoice. I was going to have to pay in the end. I had to learn to just let it go and trust that Jackie would get everything done and to me in time. She did and our wedding was amazing!THINGS THAT MAKE THEM AWESOME: Will coordinate your rentals and have some vintage rentals that weddings really special. Jackie set up a "welcome ladder" with horchata & pink lemonade to welcome our guests at arrival. They also set up a working chandelier over our dessert buffet and provided a Tres Leches cake as part of the buffet. At the end of the night we received a basket with a thank you note, champagne, two glasses, and leftovers for the next day. I would use Mama's Meatball again and I would recommend that you do!

Mama's Meatball was very responsive from the beginning however their food was not good. The food prepared at the complementary tasting was delicious and the chef gave us good advice about which foods would travel well and which would not. We were having a buffet dinner for about 50 people. On the actual day we had our catered dinner the food was nothing like it was during our tasting. Some dishes were okay but most were terrible and I felt like I was eating cafeteria food.

The food was excellent, but be prepared to be micromanaged! I was originally told they could do our meals for about $17.00 per person, but in the end it all came to $60.00 per person - way more than I was prepared to pay. You will have to create assigned seating, and they will want the names of each person at each table, what they want, tablecards with labels of names and code for the meal (on same side of the card) number of each meal choice at each table, total number of meals, etc, etc. If you don't want assigned seating, they will still insist, rather strongly, that it is absolutely necessary and hint at doom if you don't comply. If you want a wedding where you are planning everything down to the tiniest detail, and don't mind re-doing tables, table numbers, seat assignments, over and over up until the day of the wedding, then great, this place is for you. If you are more relaxed, you might want to go elsewhere. Again though, the food is amazing. And they were very attentive on the day of the wedding during the meal and after, and that was nice.

We chose Ribeye Steak, Chicken and a Vegetarian Dinners to be served. It was a sit down Plated Dinner. We were to receive either a WHOLE Ribeye Steak or a 1/2 of CHICKEN or a Vegetarian. What we got was 1/2 chicken that looked like it was from a baby bird. We DID NOT get a whole Steak but 3 thinly sliced pieces. We had only 120 guests and we paid
$ 8,370.00. That's approx. $ 70.00 a plate. It was a total RIP OFF. We DID NOT GET or did they even come close to providing what was promised. We had guests asking for 2nd and even 3rd helpings. We were embarrassed in front of our guests. This was our Daughters Wedding that we can never recapture. So anyone out there thinking about hiring MaMas Meatball to cater your Daughters or Sons Wedding you better think twice. You can't at the last minute get someone else, your stuck. Again Jacklyn comes off as honest and just wants to give your child the Caterer of a life time and all she cares about is making as much money off you as possible. Also that's why she called us and said if we could pay the entire amount a month early she would deduct $ 1,000 dollars. Actually our total was $ 9,370.00. I should of known then something was wrong with her and her Business. SO ALL BEWARE !

Mama's Meatball catered our wedding. After their staff opted to drink our wine and beer to excess and got sufficiently intoxicated, they failed to serve all the guests dinner and practically passed out before the event was over. After several attempts to mediate the situation, Mama's Meatball decided to charge us for the full cost of the catering plus gratuity of 18.5%. After letters to the owner explaining our dissatisfaction, we were continually ignored and none of the letters were responded to. This type of poor service during and after an event is unacceptable for a company promising to be a quality caterer.
