Amazing officiant!

We are so happy that we had Rev. Derek officiate our wedding. From the very beginning, he was so easy to work with and incredibly kind and friendly. He immediately made us feel like a priority, and we knew our big day was important to him. We met with him a few times several months before our wedding for premarital coaching and it was super beneficial to build a relationship with him ahead of time, along with learn a few things about my husband and our relationship. Rev. Derek was extremely professional and always very responsive. I emailed him numerous times with ceremony questions and got thoughtful responses usually within a few hours. He stayed for part of our reception and fit right in with our family and friends. Numerous people came to us afterwards and complimented him and the ceremony. Rev. Derek is an amazing officiant, and we would definitely recommend him to anyone planning their wedding!

Fantastic!

My wife and I couldn’t be more happy with how Derek made our wedding day complete. From the first email to our wedding day, Derek kept in great contact and was a tremendous help in making sure we had all our ducks in a row in a timely manor for our wedding. Derek gave us a few ceremony outlines to choose from that we were able to customize to our liking which was great. Derek was overall a very easy officiant to work with and we were very pleased in choosing him for our wedding. I definitely recommend him to any couple looking for an officiant.

Rev. Derek is the perfect choice for anyone in search of an officiant! If you are like us and have no idea who or how to select someone so important to your wedding day, save yourself the time and hassle of looking any further and connect with him! I don't think it would be possible to be anything less than thrilled with his services. He is prompt, cordial, professional, extremely helpful, super organized and detail oriented, all of the above! He will help you piece together a ceremony that fits your visions and beliefs, and perform it perfectly. There is an obvious reason for all of the great reviews he has received and you will not be disappointed in your decision. He has a genuine desire to meet your hopes and expectations and goes above and beyond to make this part of your day as stressless as possible. We simply cannot recommend him highly enough. We received many compliments on his role in our day!

Absolutely Fantastic Rev.

Rev. Derek Kiewatt was absolutely fantastic to work with. He really put a lot of effort into making our vision for our wedding come true. His humor and whit was much appreciated by us and he made sure to work through all the details and refine what we deemed acceptable. Amazing experience!

One of the best parts of our wedding. 100% recommend

Derek was amazing from start to finish, he checked in on us, he helped us navigate how to write or help him write our ceremony and provided guidance throughout. He did his homework on us and also provided lots of humor at a very stressful time as planning a wedding is not easy. He took time to talk to us on the phone and walk through the whole process. Day of he showed up early was a calm in a storm of chaos and provided us with some amazing advice and a great ceremony. He was able to combine my Jewish traditions with Zach's faith and write a ceremony that merged us seamlessly. 1000% this guy is who you want there on your special day. He is ready to wrangle a rogue/rough mom or dad for you as well.

Amazing officiant

Rev. Derek Kiewatt was amazing! From the beginning when we first contacted Rev. Kiewatt, he was sooo easy to work with. Even though our wedding day was coming up fast in 2 months, Rev. Kiewatt was able to squeeze us in his busy schedule and made our day special. He was so helpful, organized, professional, funny and approachable. The planning process was so easy with Rev. Kiewatt who gave us lots of tips and was so prompt with replying to our questions and concerns. On the wedding day, Rev. Kiewatt came an hour early to meet everyone and helped us practice the ceremony and that helped ALOT!!!!!! We were so lucky to have him officiating our wedding!

Amazing Officiant

Rev. Derek was an amazing officiant. My husband and I talked to a few different officiants before we chose Derek to be the officiant for our August wedding and pre-marital education and coaching. Derek is personable, funny, and understanding. He listens, offers advice, and will go above and beyond to make your day exactly how you imagine it. If you hire Rev. Derek you will not regret your decision!

Great officiant!

Rev Derek was the best! We struggled to find an officiant because we were planning out of state. He was kind, communicative and reliable. I highly recommend him. He was funny and engaging. He also helped keep our rowdy groomsmen in line. Thank you for making our ceremony so special Rev. Derek!

Reverend Derek is fabulous

Reverend Derek was such a special part of our big day and the months leading up to it. We did pre-marital coaching with him, and it really helped us to hone our communication skills and build a stronger connection. He helped us to craft the perfect wedding ceremony and added a very special, personalized message that referenced some of the things we had discussed in our coaching sessions. We've gotten so many compliments from guests!
I feel confident that our relationship with Rev. Derek won't end with our wedding day, and I feel grateful to have built a lasting connection. Thank you Rev Derek!

Reverend Derek is the best!

We were very happy to have Reverend Derek as our officiant. Rev Derek was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable in knowing how to run a smooth wedding! He took us under his wing, and with his advice, we had a beautiful wedding. He is a great communicator and is quick to reply to any questions and emails we sent to him. Highly Recommended

We absolutely loved having Reverend Derek as our officiant for our wedding! Due to covid, we had to change plans and do a smaller ceremony and then are doing our originally planned wedding in 2021. He was so understanding and easy to work with. He was willing to help us in anyway we needed. We are very excited to have him for our second wedding as well!
We also did premarital counseling with him and it was very help for us as a couple and to have him get to know us before the big day.
He is great at making the ceremony special, personal to the couple and engaging your guests. Our families commented on how great he was as well. He is a great person to get to know, very genuine and many great stories.
We can't thank him enough for being a part of our wedding day (both wedding days)!

Great experience with Rev. Derek Kiewatt

My husband and I are an inter-faith couple (Muslim and Christian) and we loved working with Rev. Derek Kiewatt. He gave us a lot of resources to plan our ceremony and showed flexibility with our requests. I highly recommend hiring him :)

Excellent Officiant

Dr Kiewatt was a great officiant! He is very approachable and nice. We met with a couple officiants but he was the nicest and the most willing to do whatever we needed/wanted. He was even super flexible when our wedding got postponed due to COVID. He had lots of ideas for ceremonies or you could do whatever you wanted and that was super great, because I was completely lost with my ceremony.

Amazing Reverend Derek

Professional, charming, and warm Reverend Derek was there the entire way. He guided our planning with a knowhow that made us rest at ease. When it came to the big day we were confident because we had an amazing officiant who planned out stuff we hadn't even thought of. Extremely accommodating and very good. 10/10!

Truly a perfect ceremony!

Rev. Derek was the perfect addition to our wedding day! From the very beginning during planning Rev. Derek was very personable and responsive with any questions we had about the ceremony. The day of the rehearsal dinner some of our wedding party was running late due to weather, and he was very understanding and accommodating so that everyone could be a part of the rehearsal! Our actual ceremony went so smoothly, and we received many wonderful comments from our guests. Rev. Derek truly put together a beautiful ceremony, and would highly recommend!

We can't begin to express how wonderful Rev. Derek was helping us with our wedding day ceremony from start to finish. We cannot say enough great things about Rev Derek, he was absolutely amazing! We decided to plan our wedding in a short amount of time. He provided resources and knowledge so that we could put together the exact ceremony we were hoping for. Phenomenal Officiant that LOVES what he does

Rev. Derek was absolutely amazing! So easy to talk to and always responded quickly to any questions we had. Loved meeting with him before our wedding to establish our relationship with him. Made our outdoor non traditional ceremony perfect!! Had so many rave comments from friends and family about how much they enjoyed the ceremony. I know I found him on purpose and I thank God for that. Our day was phenomenal and Rev. Derek played a huge roll in making sure everything went smoothly. If you are unsure, let me assure you, he is hands down the only choice for a wedding officiant.

Fantastic experience!

Reverend Derek was an absolutely pleasure to work with. We wanted an officiant who would be willing to get to know us as people so that they could best represent us during our ceremony, and that's what we got! The ceremony went off without a hitch, which is the most important part; perhaps our favorite part, though, was the premarital coaching. Rev. Derek came over to our apartment for a couple sessions, and it was so fun to see how my fiance and I responded to questions, different assessments, etc. And more than fun, it was meaningful. Rev. Derek was a great facilitator through it all and we are so happy we chose him!

Rev. Derek is experienced, personable, kind and has a great sense of humor! He is also very flexible with the type of service you are looking for as he can easily transition from serious to humorous at your request. Based on these qualities, we booked him as our wedding officiant. He had great communication throughout the process and was always available for questions. Following our ceremony, many of our guests asked if Rev. Derek was a family friend, which we had felt like he had been. I definitely recommend Rev. Derek!

Easy and personalized wedding experience

Working with Reverend Derek was such a great experience! He provided us with a ton of resources so we were easily able to personalize a ceremony that was exactly what we wanted. He has many options, both religious and secular so we had no problem finding ceremony elements that worked for us. Throughout the entire process, he was incredibly responsive and flexible which helped relieve stress rather than add more. Any time we had any questions or concerns, he immediately responded to our emails and offered to meet in person if needed. Overall, Reverend Derek was a huge reason our wedding so smoothly.

When my wife and I planned our wedding, we quickly realized, that we had a language problem. As my parents speak little English, and my wife's family no German, we where afraid we could not have the wedding we wished for. Fortunately, we found Reverent Derek, who supported us with a very beautiful, bilingual ceremony, that helped both of our families feel included. Derek has a warm and open nature, and is easy and fun to work with. He also has a lot of good stories at hand to prepare you for your special day the easy way. We thank Derek for his service, and would highly recommend him.

Working with Reverend Derek was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! We were referred to Derek through our wedding planner, and knew from our first meeting with him that he was the right choice. He is a wonderful blend of humor, experience, calm, and confidence as an officiant. He is comfortable with a variety of wedding ceremony styles (we did a combination of traditional, with some Jewish elements, but overall not a strongly religious ceremony) and was receptive to everything we asked of him, and if we were not sure how to approach a topic, Derek provided us wonderful options and selections of vows and other readings and elements for the ceremony. The premarital education was also very insightful and he helped us discover many unique elements about us as individuals, how we related to each other, how we saw ourselves, and how we viewed each other, that we will be able to take with us in our married life. We enjoyed our time planning and learning with Derek, and are so grateful he was a part of our ceremony.

From the start, Reverend Derek was professional. He quickly responded to emails, sent helpful samples and suggestions, and was giving of his time. Rev. Derek is a very easygoing yet professional minister who not only helped us put together the ceremony, but coordinated the ceremony from behind the scenes, which was a huge relief on our wedding day. My husband and I chose him primarily because we felt comfortable around him, but also because he was affordable and was willing to work with us for our custom ceremony needs. Jokes were an added bonus!

Reverend Kiewatt helped deliver our ceremony flawlessly. We had originally had a sibling set up to officiate but given the risk of military deployment we needed a back-up and Reverend Kiewatt went above and beyond a back-up plan. He listened to what we wanted in our ceremony, offered suggestions, helped us with suggestions for our rehearsal and was incredibly professional on the day of. It was great to have someone with such experience to help us deliver our big day.

Reverend Derek was amazing! He fit in perfectly with our personalities and added his own kind words to our ceremony based off his impression of us as individuals and as a couple. Our day has not turned out how we had planned due to the weather but reverend Derek helped smooth the wedding from outside to inside seamlessly and helped to keep me calm during the stressful times. I cannot give him enough praise for being an outstanding officiant and keeping the rehearsal and ceremony light but serious!

Rev. Derek did an amazing job being our wedding officiant. He made our day feel so special and FUN! I can not express the gratitude I felt for the way that he embraced our special day and really wanted to make it an amazing ceremony for us and our guests. Reverend Derek was beyond words the most fantastic officiant we could have ever asked for on every level. It was a phenomenal value to do the pre wedding counseling with Derek to really help guide us in our journey to our big day and get to know him. Rev. Derek did an absolutely amazing job and brought the sunshine to our wedding! It had been raining off and on all day but the sun came out when he arrived. Rev Derek Kiewatt was the epitome of professionalism. He officiated an intimate private ceremony in our home. Reverend Derek was wonderful for our entire wedding process. He took the time to get to know us on a personal level which really made the experience and the moment more special. We opted for his coaching classes as well and they were very beneficial for us to understand more about each other and how to communicate more efficiently. We met with Rev. Derek a year before our wedding and knew right away that he was a perfect fit. He is incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and talented. We had an interfaith marriage ceremony of Christian/Bosnian Muslim and he offered great suggestions for our service and allowed us to share personal reflections of our relationship/courtship. Trying to put together a "later in life" wedding, while living out of town was a challenge! We choose Vadnias Heights since it was close to relatives, time, date, place was picked--29 days!! (65 guests)!!
Rev. Derek Kiewatt answered our email within hours. He sent a sample Christian Wedding ( which we used, with few modifications ) for a short Christian Garden Room service. He was flexible on a fee and he changed his personal plans, to make sure "OUR" day was honored. We were pleased he was able to bless our celebration dinner and enjoy it too. - We can't wait to read his book.

Reverend Derek was more than I could ever have thought to have had at our wedding. I was nervous because my husband I do not go to church and thought it was going to be very difficult and embarassing to find someone to marry us. Derek was the first person we found when researching for an officiant. We only met once for coffee and from that first meeting we know Derek was our officiant. My husband and I dreamed of a romantic elopement. We truly appreciated having Rev Kiewatt as our officiant and were beyond pleased with our decision. He was fun, flexible, and made a point to make the ceremony exactly what we wanted. :) I'm so glad I found him while researching officiants.

I HIGHLY recommend Reverend Derek! My new husband and I planned our wedding from abroad so email was our main communication. Reverend Derek always responded in a timely manner. He was incredibly knowledgeable, insightful and was someone we could turn to if we got overwhelmed or confused about any of the ceremony planning process. Not only that, but he is quite the comedian! He fit in perfectly with not only our personalities, but our family and friends as well. His laid back, humorous personality was what attracted us to him in the first place. And we knew that with his years of experience he would ensure our wedding day would run smoothly... and it was absolutely perfect! He threw in a couple jokes here and there which was great to hear our guests laugh. But he also was serious so people also shed a few tears... a perfect mixture. He's actually more of a friend to us now then someone we worked with. We could not have imagined anyone else up there with us, pronouncing us husband and wife. Both of us were pretty nervous (especially to read our vows), but Reverend Derek's calm and humorous personality made it much more bearable. Our ceremony was a dream come true because of him!

For weeks after our wedding, family spoke of Rev. Derek. People were so impressed with him. He comes off as a soft spoken polite person, but he manages to mix in just the right amount of humor. He did the best he could to make sure that not only we were happy with the ceremony, but our family would be too. His mix of beleifs and ideals helped us say exactly what we wanted and what message we thought we should appropriately displayed. He was kind enough to stay around for the reception and even had a small, nice suprise for us then.

He was the perfect choice. Honestly.

Derek was AMAZING! We worked with him through pre-marriage counseling (I highly reccommend!) and he did our service at our wedding. Our wedding was beyond perfect. The ceremony was so intimate and personalized just for us. Our guests raved about how they all felt like they were a part of the wedding party. Derek made everyone feel something. It was one of the best days of my life. If you are looking for an officiant who takes the time to REALLY get to know you as individuals and as a couple, one who really cares about helping you make your wedding day something that will have people talking for years, PLEASE hire Derek! He is truly a blessing and the sweetest man ever!

Reverend Derek did an amazing job with our rehearsal and ceremony. He listened to all of our request and executed them very well. He made our families very comfortable and they were very happy with how beautiful our ceremony was. Thanks again Reverend Derek!

Derek did a fantastic job as our minister. He was extremely pleasant and helpful however was more than willing to work with us to create a ceremony that was special and meaningful to my husband and I. He had just the right amount of humor but was also careful to not let it get out of hand. We got married outside in a little less formal setting but I could see where he would also easily fall into a more formal situation as well.

We've received countless comments from our guests about what a great job our minister did. We couldn't have asked for a more professional yet friendly and caring individual to help us celebrate our day (and make it legal!). He truly enjoyed and cared about how are wedding ceremony was--it wasn't just another day at work for him. If I wasn't the last one in the crew to get married, I would refer Derek to all my friends and family without hesitation.

Rev Derek did an amazing job at our wedding. He was very professional, answered any questions we had, on time, and was very flexible for some changes we decided to make basically the day of.

I had quite a few people come up to me after the ceremony and praise at how great it was. He adds just the right amount of humor and goes with the flow for anything that may happen.

We can't thank you enough Rev Derek! We are very happy to have met you!

Reverend Derek was fantastic as our wedding day officiant! Both my husband and I could not be happier that we chose him. He made us feel instantly comfortable - from the premarital counseling sessions (which are optional) and through every second of our wedding weekend we felt relaxed thanks to his helpful tips and advice. He fit in so well with our families, and helped set everyone at ease. Reverend Derek is fun, friendly, humorous, and knows how to keep everyone focused on what's important on a wedding day: that you are marrying the love of your life and it is a day of joy and celebration. I would HIGHLY recommend him to any couple, and I will certainly be recommending him to all of my friends and family. It was a pleasure!

Reverend Derek was a very good match for us. We really felt that he was committed to working with us from the beginning, at which time he reminded us that this was a very special day, a "once in a lifetime event." We had several e-mail conversations, which were always prompt and helpful. Most importantly, when we met for coffee, I immediately relaxed because Rev. Derek's demeanor was very calming, and we both felt that if anything went haywire with the ceremony, Rev. Derek would make it work out. We had some ideas of our own, which were dated, and he was very respectful in letting us know that if a certain style was what we wanted he would be most happy to do that. He was very supportive with some things we wanted that he hadn't seen before. We felt like we were in control of the ceremony and that he was there to make everything work out. The additional readings that he sent us were "right on" and we worked some of them into our ceremony.

We arrived at our wedding place quite relaxed. At that point, we knew that we had done everything we were supposed to do, and if something in the ceremony didn't work the way we thought it would, Rev. Derek would make it right. Our wedding was very small, and we wanted everybody to have a part in the ceremony. All of our adult children and their spouses commented as to how intimate and personal the ceremony felt to them.

It was a wonderful ceremony and evening, and we appreciated the respectful guidance that Rev. Derek provided for us.

We could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. We planned the entire wedding from out of state, and never even met Derek until the day of the wedding. His email communication during the months prior to our big day was superb -- punctual, informative, and humorous.

On the day of our wedding, he was on time, wonderfully polite, and helped put us at ease. The ceremony went very well, and his remarks were wonderfully unique, appropriate, and personal -- as though he were a family friend.

We highly recommend Derek. It's hard to think that there could be anybody better.

Our wedding was complex as we had 2 religions and cultures. Derek helped us along the whole process and provided excellent suggestions for how to incorporate both in. He is also very interesting to talk to and has some fun stories of other wedding couples.

Not only was Derek on time, well dressed, and fully prepared for the ceremony and rehearsal, he also did a great job handling stressful situations. First was our rehearsal (larger wedding party with small children) - he handled everyone well and kept us on track. Second, at the ceremony when our sound went out (Thanks a lot, Adagio!!), he thought on the fly and spoke loud enough for the whole crowd to hear him.

I would recommend him to anyone - in fact, I recommended him to my best friend who is using him in 1 month.

Reverend Derek is amazing. He was so easy and fun to work with - down to getting coffee with us and just talking and getting to know my now husband and I.
We were so lucky that he was able to do our rehearsal and made that seamless and fun - he had everyone laughing and enjoying themselves too.
At our wedding, he was on time, helpful and did a flawless job for our ceremony. We felt at ease and it was such a blessing during the ceremony to know that Rev Derek had it all covered. I got so many compliments on his kind words and funny jokes too.
And yes, the wedding rap MADE OUR DAY! :)

From the first contact Rev. Derek was open, responsive and very enthusiastic about our wedding; he was interested in making our day special and what we wanted it to be. He gave us many options and ideas to customize our ceremony that made it unique and special. He has a great sense of humor and joy that shines through; our guests were surprised to find out that we didn't know him prior to the wedding planning because he seemed to really know us.

We feel really blessed to have found Derek. I felt nervous and a bit awkward hiring an officiant however Derek was so nice and easy to talk to it felt like I had known him for years. I will always remember my dad who is a man of few words talking to Derek after our rehearsal and saying "I really like you". :-) Derek is a great choice for an officiant, I actually received many complements on the service which were his ideas. When I first started to plan our wedding, one of my top priorities was to find the best officiant who would fit my soon- to -be husband and my personalities and backgrounds. He was the perfect fit for us. I would recommend premarital counseling with him as well. He was a very important part of our wedding preparation and day. Even more importantly, he provided tools for us to use throughout life.... I couldn't have asked for a better fit.

Rev. Derek was great! Before we signed any contracts he provided a sample ceremony for us to review. At our meeting before the event we got to know each other and discuss the items that were important to us as well as ask questions about ceremony details we were uncertain about. At the rehearsal he efficiently organized our wedding party and gave us a good outline of what to expect without going over the entire ceremony word for word. The actual ceremony was perfect! We had to adjust due to the weather from outside to inside, but it went flawlessly. We would not hesitate to recommend him. As a same-sex couple, we wanted a traditional ceremony that tied in our religious upbringing and got exactly that. He is very flexible and has many great suggestions if you need them.

By far one of the best parts of our wedding. He was so wonderful and really took time to get to know us and make the ceremony personal and it was perfect. He was very flexible with scheduling a time to meet with my husband and I as neither of us lived in the state that we were getting married in. I have literally been complimented on our ceremony from everyone at the wedding. I wouldn't look any further, if you are looking for an officiant, this is your guy! We couldn't be more thankful to share our day with him. I HIGHLY recommend!!
