Best venue and staff
I am so grateful we had our wedding with the Marriott. Andrea was beyond helpful from start to finish of planning our event, also Nick the banquet manager went above and beyond to make sure we had all our wedding things when it was over. The banquet staff is amazing!!! The reception was so well organized by them and I am so grateful for everything they did for our day. -

The staff at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest (especially Anna) were so accommodating with everything we needed! We were very impressed with Anna’s attention to detail, timeliness with every questioner had and ensuring we had the perfect day that fit what we were looking for. If you’re looking for someone who you can count on to make your big day, everything you’ve imagined, you need Anna at the Marriott! We are very big on timely responses, and Anna was always in touch with us and answered questions so quick! We loved the “back up” option for indoors as we planned an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. The venue is able to fit up to 500 people with a couple different ballrooms as options. Absolutely perfect and recommended to all!-

We had the best experience at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest for our wedding reception! Anna was amazing at coordinating all the details to ensure everything went smoothly. She answered our questions quickly, provided us alternative and better ideas, and was on-site the day of our wedding. The Marriott team was excellent and the food was outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better reception venue and would highly recommend the Marriott Southwest for your wedding/reception!! Thank you again for making our day so memorable! -

I would highly recommend using the SW Marriot for a wedding venue! Working with their event staff, basically made me feel like I had hired a wedding planner - SCORE! We hosted our grooms dinner, ceremony, reception, photos -- basically everything at the SW Marriot and it was nothing but a positive experience! The event staff was professional, punctual, prompt, honest, helpful, accommodating... I could go on and on! As a bride, stressing out about every detail, I appreciated how detail oriented they were and how they took notes diligently as we met so they could execute everything I had requested. Taking stress off my plate to plan a wedding was a huge bonus! Our big day went flawlessly and I have to thank the SW Marriot for that! -

All I can say is thank god for Marriott SW Minnetonka, Mn., Anna Duerksen and her staff. They helped me put together a beautiful wedding for my son in less than 40 days. Her professionalism and her willingness to go the extra mile was awesome. Marriott staff was on the ball and very cooperative. Now understand this was an outdoor wedding on their grounds and it was beautiful! The dinner and dance was put together with the utmost taste of my son and his bride. I never had such fun putting together an event as this. I absolutely give my praise to Marriott and their staff for all they did in such short notice. Oh by the way the food was top of the line and the guests commented to me how great everything was. I am one happy mother of the groom and was happy to put this wedding on with the help of all the staff at Marriott SW. The wedding was a winter wonderland event on February 4th 2017. -

Our wedding was simply amazing – and The Minnetonka Marriott played such a large part in it – as they say, location, location, location ….
From our first meeting with Lindsay Robin, the Catering Sales Manager, to our very last (how sad) follow up call with Anna Duerksen, the Catering Sales Manager, this hotel was on the ball!
Our main contact there was Anna, and words cannot describe how fabulously amazing she and her team were. Anna held our hand through every step – she was there to answer questions before we even had them, and quick to reply when we came up with any other, she had great ideas, kept us on track, was knowledgeable, professional and such fun to work with!
The food was delicious – the chef wonderful, we even added our own ideas to the menu … he did an amazing job the day of our wedding – people were raving about how perfect the steaks were cooked, how delicious the mashed potatoes were and how great the serving staff was!
The setting for our wedding was wonderful – we were in the Lake of the Woods Ballroom for both the wedding and reception. The staff @ the hotel did an amazing job setting everything up and doing the flip for the reception (as both were in the same room). Everything was so seamless!
From start to finish the Minnetonka Marriott SW was amazing – to the staff, those that helped us directly and/or indirectly – thank you for making our day go off without a hitch!!

The Marriott Minneapolis Southwest was awesome all around! We used the Lake Minnetonka Ballroom for our reception and the ballroom was gorgeous. The hotel is newly renovated and the neutral tones made for a wonderful atmosphere! I highly suggest this location for your recpetion! We had a great experience and Anna was fantastic to work with! -

This venue could not have met our needs more practically, efficiently and beautifully. Lindsay and her team took incredible care of us and our guests. She professionally and graciously shepherded this bride-to-be through all of the logistics and we could not have been more pleased with the results. The food, service, guest accommodations were wonderful and the details were attended to beautifully. The feedback from our guests reinforced our opinion. Thumbs up, Southwest Marriott, I would refer you all day long! -

This venue really is the total package! If you are looking for a romantic, beautiful, all-inclusive venue, look no further! Having the hotel rooms, ceremony site and reception ballroom all in one location was extremely convenient and stress-free, especially for our out of town guests. Don’t be discouraged by the metropolitan area, the outdoor patio was the perfect intimate space for the ceremony with the elegant backdrop of trees and water. The interior renovation of the Marriott was beautiful, the food was amazing and our wedding coordinator Lindsay Robin was beyond accommodating! She was the utmost attentive to all our questions and concerns which she responded very quickly, even going out of her way to streamline our last minute changes. The entire Marriott staff and Lindsay were constantly by our sides helping us with anything and everything! -

We are forever grateful for the services provided to us at the Marriott Minnetonka Southwest for our wedding. From the first time we stepped into the Marriot for consideration, we knew it was the perfect choice, especially with the discounted room rates and free parking for guest. Lindsey, our catering manager was so helpful in many capacities from bringing bottled water to our hospitality suites to make sure the wedding party stayed hydrated to helping tape down the aisle runner. She continuously sent me update via email and information that was both vital and helpful in our wedding planning. We received many comments on how beautiful and comfortable the hotel was, and that the hospitality was impeccable! The garden where our wedding was held was more beautiful than any picture or I could have imagined. It was more than we could have ever expected! I would highly recommend the Marriott as 1st choice and would plan another event there if given the opportunity. The Marriot Minnetonka Southwest is definitely a forever favorite! -

My son and future daughter-in law live out of town and therefore I was the wedding planner for their June 25th wedding. After looking at hundreds of venues we chose the Marriott Southwest. Working with Lindsay Robin and the Marriott Southwest was simply stress free. The entire first floor has been remodeled to beautiful platinum, gold, grays with highlights of turquoises. We loved the private outdoor water features, greenery, flowers and white chair set up for the ceremony. The reception rooms are perfect size for any wedding and the assortment of wedding packages including bar and appetizers, wine pours, and dinner either served or buffet fit any need. The food was outstanding as was the service. Lindsay provided a list of preferred musicians, DJ's, room decorators, cake makers. We selected many of her recommendations and they were outstanding. The final days before the wedding, we completed a detailed list of events and times which were performed flawlessly on the day of the wedding. Access to the hotel is easy from any location, rooms are reasonable priced for guests and there is a breakfast buffet in the morning after the event. It was a five star event and we highly recommend the Marriott Southwest. If you are looking for a full service event planner, the Marriott Southwest is the best in Minneapolis/St. Paul. -

Wow! What an amazing, dedicated staff at the Marriott Southwest. Throughout our entire experience, we had consistent communication and honest, creative coordinator assistance. Our day was full of love and laughter because of the seamless work and service provided by the Marriott Southwest staff. My husband and I got married at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest on 7/18/15. We had our ceremony outside on the BEAUTIFUL patio and the reception inside in the Lake of the Woods ball room. The Marriott exceeded our expectations. Our day was flawless and stress-free! The staff took wonderful care of us. Our event planner, Lindsay, made sure everything was set up EXACTLY how we had asked and even texted me photos throughout the day while I and the other bridesmaids were getting ready in a room upstairs. If you are looking for a venue to have both your ceremony and reception, I would highly recommend the Marriott! The ceremony area outside is absolutely gorgeous! And they have plenty of options for an indoor ceremony as well. The ball rooms are also all recently renovated so everything is modern and looks excellent! The serving staff was excellent as well! We had plated meals and everyone got their dinner timely and the staff was all very friendly. I also think the value was exceptional. I looked at numerous venues online and the cost of the Marriott could not be beat. It is very reasonable compared to a lot of other similar venues in the Twin Cities area. We got nothing but positive comments from our guests as well about how great everything was. I do not have anything bad to say about the Marriott. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great wedding venue! -

My husband and I got married in January this past year and were so happy with our reception at the Marriott. We booked this venue about a year in advance of our wedding, and were working with their head event manager. A few months into our planning, we were slightly nervous to find out that this event manager was moving to California, and we were placed with their new event manager, Jenni Hielke. Turns out, Jenni was absolutely AMAZING to work with! Jenni helped along the way with detailed, organized emails that ensured we had every detail planned the way I wanted it. She went out of her way to have tastings when it worked in our schedules, and personally assisted us in the week before the wedding to get all of our decorations to the Marriott and make sure it was set up exactly how we wanted. Jenni and the entire Marriott staff were so professional, and the night definitely would not have gone as smoothly as it did without all of their outstanding efforts! :) We felt pampered and catered to, and our guests all told us how much they enjoyed the evening. Especially in the winter, the Marriott was great at showing us fun places to take photos, and provided us with a beautiful honeymoon suite for our wedding night. We had many guests stay in our wedding room block, and our close friends and family joined us for a breakfast & gift opening the morning after our wedding. Marriott and the rest of the event staff helped us put together such a nice brunch and gift opening room just weeks before the wedding. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% pleased with our experience. I would absolutely recommend the Marriott, and Jenni, to any brides! Especially as a busy working bride who wasn't using a wedding coordinator, it was so nice to have Jenni there for all my reception-related questions. I hope I can work with the Marriott again in the future! -

I recommend this facility to everyone. My daughter's wedding reception was perfect. I attribute this to the hard work and responsiveness of our coordinator, Jenni Hielke. Jenni made sure to attend to every detail. The room was recently remodeled and looked quite elegant. Food was excellent, but the biggest factor was that service was top notch. Jenni stopped by several times during both the reception and the family breakfast/gift opening the next morning. You won't go wrong with this choice! -

I love the Marriott Southwest! It is a great Hotel! We used it for everything, Ceremony, Reception/Dance, and Room Block.
The Patio is absolutely gorgeous! We received so many compliments on how beautiful it was. It was below average Temps on that day and very windy, but Lindsay and Riana got the hotel to purchase brand new patio heaters for our ceremony so our guests wouldn't freeze. Lindsay and Riana took care of everything! They made sure everything was ready to go and set properly! Lindsay even came up to my room the morning of our wedding and brought me some peppermint tea in case I had a nervous tummy. We booked the Lake of the Woods room and it was perfect. It has its own little hall and foyer area with bathrooms. It felt really intimate and personal. Our Banquet Captain was Debbie and She is AWSOME! She made sure all the guests were happy and that things went according to schedule. At the end of the night she went and got one of our bottles of wine and two glass to take up to our room. She also got a bell cart for us to haul all of our gifts and items back up to our room, and told to leave it outside our room, and someone would come and pick it up.
It was such a great experience. The guest raved how good the food was and how nice the setting and the rooms were. -

We booked Marriott SouthWest Hotel for our reception and catering. We had Matt P. as our first point in contact, and he is what truly made me book the Marriott. I had so many questions and every email I wrote he responded in a timely manner. The superb customer service is what sold me. We booked the "Lake of the Woods" room for about 175 people. Its a beautiful room. It was a little snug but it certainly made the energy that much more personal in the room.
Our wedding coordinator was Jenni H. And again the customer service on multiple emails back and forth was done in such a timely manner. Not to mention I know my mother, and mother-in-law were contacting her as well. She is organized. And the day of the wedding: My Goodness!! It went PERFECT! Absolutely perfect. And the FOOD was delicious !!! I had about a 15 minute conversation with one of my guests just on how good the food was. We had chicken, and pork roast and it was cooked to a T. The servers were so polite and friendly.
Our wedding suite was clean and gorgeous! We should have stayed couple of more nights in that room. (We went to another hotel after our wedding, and lets just say we should have never left the Marriott Southwest)

We are so impressed with the experience we have had with the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest. We worked with Debbie Maas and feel so lucky to have had her as our Wedding Coordinator. She is so professional and personable which helped make the wedding planning process flow smoothly. The staff at the Marriott were fantastic and our wedding guests were full of compliments about the experience. The venue was perfect for the amount of guests we had (340). We utilized the patio for our cocktail hour and our guests raved about the beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere. The reception flowed smoothly, and everyone truly enjoyed themselves. -

I booked the room block for our wedding at the Marriott Southwest and couldn't have been more pleased in my experience with them. Karie and Maureen made sure that me and my husband were well taken care of as well as all of our guests. They went out of their way to accommodate every strange request that I had for them and always did so in a cheery manor. I would not hesitate to use them again for any future room blocks or parties. -

We love the Marriott! We used it for our reception, hotel block and even shuttles to the church. Our event manager, Matt, was more than helpful and super responsive with my tons of emails full of lists of questions. :) It was a beautiful location, our guests were well taken care of, everyone loved the food and raved about the staff. My husband and I had our reception at the Marriott Southwest on June 20th. We are so very thankful for our wedding planner from the Marriott - Lindsay. I don't think we could have pulled everything off without her. She took the time to understand us and what we wanted our reception to look like. She even gave a few great ideas for the use of the outdoor space in the evening. She helped us create a smore's bar which we really enjoyed with our wedding guests. Most people say something goes wrong during their wedding day, but Lindsay helped make sure that everything went perfect. We loved our day and wouldn't change a thing!!! Thanks Lindsay. -

We wanted to serve Indian buffet for dinner and were glad that Marriott let us do that. We had a pleasant experience working with our Catering and Sales Manager ( Lindsay Robin). She was very helpful during our planning phase. Also on the night of the reception, she made sure that the best service was provided. I would surely recommend Marriott Southwest. -

We loved everything about our wedding at the Marriott! We chose to do both the ceremony and reception on site. Anna Duerksen was amazing! She helped us to coordinate the ceremony and plan the reception down to every detail - and on the day-of, she was easy to find and ready to solve any problem.
There's so many other things that are great about this Marriott, but these are the ones that stick out: -The food is AMAZING. I still have guests that talk to me about how much they loved the food. -All hotel/banquet staff, including Anna, were super helpful and timely. -Outdoor areas for made for some really beautiful pictures. -The hotel itself is beautiful and newly remodeled. Our banquet room was bright and open - the rooms are done in neutral tones so you can make it go with any wedding colors or decorations. -We planned this MN wedding from IN, and Anna and the Marriott really accommodated us in planning long distance. Thank you Marriott for going above and beyond to make our wedding day stress free and amazing. -

My son and his bride opted for Marriott Southwest for their reception venue. My wife and I were thrilled with the entire event! We arrived mid-day Friday, and the room was set up already. It looked good at that time. However, when got our first view Saturday evening with full decoration and lighting, it was stunning. I stopped to take a quick picture on my phone so I could show it off! And the really great part was that chairs were comfortable and there was plenty of room at each table, between tables, and on the dance floor – which stayed hopping all night long.
We thought the food for the buffet dinner, cocktail hour and late night munchies was awesome (thanks to the Moravecs). And the bartenders were able to handle a lot of partiers without any problems. When we drained the 4th keg, they did not miss a beat in making bottles available. I did not hear one single complaint about anything the entire evening.
We sent a note to the kids telling them we will never ever forget that day/evening. The facility and service is an instrumental part of all that. The site has a lot of amenities to offer for an event like this. We had lots of travelers, and the hotel easily provided housing for approximately 60 rooms of those folks.
A job very well done.

I think you just need to make sure you book the day you want before someone else does! They were great and their coordinator Lindsay was an outstanding coordinator. Out of our entire wedding experience, they were the most reliable vendor and we really had no concerns about their performance. It was a great reception! They let us book half the ballroom based on how many people we had and our price range. Everything just worked out great for us. -

Everything was amazing at the Marriott Southwest. My favorite was by far my coordinator Lindsay. She made sure I had everything I wanted and stayed close to my budget. My outdoor wedding and my under the stars dance floor in the reception. The food was amazing, I heard :) Though they tried to get us to eat, we were to busy talking to everyone. But I of course tested everything at the tasting that was scheduled. The hotel is being renovated and looks amazing (I would NOT plug the contractor working on the place, because they were not doing a good job, kind of crappy construction and they for sure did NOT know how to keep a neat and clean job site) That was by far my only complaint of our weekend seeing I did get locked in the bathroom due to the crap construction. But I it already made for many laughs and a good story to tell. -

I had a dream wedding at Marriot SW. They made our day complete by provding us with service that was beyond our expectations. Their facility is beautiful and freshly renovated!!! I recomend their services to anyone looking for a wedding that is equally budget friendly and beautiful! -

We loved our experience working with the Marriott SouthWest Events Team. They made our wedding planning experience manageable. Not only was Lindsay great, the entire team stepped up when we needed help. We loved the location because the freshly remodeled hotel made our wedding photos look great. The best part though is that we paid a fraction of what the hotels downtown want for a better wedding package. I cannot recommend the Marriott SW more!!! -

I loved having our wedding at the Marriott Minnespolis Southwest.
Jenni was wonderful to work with! She met with my mom and I numerous times to go over details and always quickly responded to my emails. She was super flexible and had fabulous ideas of how to transform the ballroom to personalize it for our wedding.
We had both the wedding ceremony and reception in the large ballroom with cocktail hour in between in the large hallways. I couldn't believe the how fast the staff was able to flip the room from a ceremony setting to a reception.
Also my guests loved that my wedding was at the Marriott. The rooms are so nicely decorated and clean and people loved that they could just go upstairs after dancing the night away!
I wouldn't change anything about having our wedding at the Marriott! -

The hotel was beautiful! My event planner, Brian May, jumped over hoops to make sure everything was perfect for my reception. They have great wedding packages at a cost per person. Servers were friendly and quick. Everything was set up for me so I only had to worry about getting my hair done and my dress on! -

Great spot for your ceremony
We had our ceremony at the Marriott Southwest. Ideally we were planning to hold it on the beautiful outside patio, however Mother Nature decided to change the weather from 60 and sunny the day before to 40 and windy. Nonetheless, the Marriott was very accommodating and provided the Lake of the Isles as our backup space for situations just like that.
We had worked with Anna up until the month of the wedding. She was extremely responsive and organized. We then were assigned to Taylor. She was very helpful with ensured we could use the space for rehearsal the night before and that everything was ready to go that day for the ceremony. Everything went great!

When we received a tour and a got a quote at the Marriott Southwest for our wedding reception, we were excited what we were quoted since the venue is so beautiful that we didn't think we would be able to afford it. We were super interested in the venue and set up a second tour that we could bring our parents on. When we came back for the second tour, we were super disappointed since the wedding coordinator tried to tell us we couldn't use the quote and menu she originally gave us since she was updating the menu. She gave us a new quote that was $5,000 more! We were very disappointed since she already quoted us to the old menu and then tried to increase the prices which made us out of budget. Through many discussions and talking to upper management, they agreed to the original quote they gave us. We ended up getting a new wedding/p coordinator (Anna Duerksen) who was over the top professional, flexibility, and literally made the entire process super easy! She is beyond amazing and we were very thankful we ended up working with her! -

We worked with the wedding coordinator, Jill, and she was fantastic. She went out of her way to help us and get things down to our budget. She was extremely friendly and professional and we loved working with her. She even let my husband and I have our own special menu for our dinner. Jill was there during the night and I felt like she was watching us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would love to go back for all my events! -

Jim Peterson was our day of corrdinator and was very perffesional and nice. Matt Prohaska was our intial point of contact when we signed our contract; he was through, nice, and helpful. Very knowledgable staff.
We did have a few day of blunders: One of the banquet servers broke our champagne flutes (Which we were credited on the bill) & we had dirty hotel sheets in our bridal suite! (Which was also handled promptly.) Overall, I we had 2 minor set backs but our day went perfectly and was an amazing day.
Jim & Matt absolutely rock and the patio is well worth it on a nice day! -
