We HIGHLY recommend DJ Steve to anyone getting married! HE WAS THE BEST! We thoroughly appreciated his professionalism, his charisma, and the way he interacted with us and our invites at our wedding. He mixed our playlist so well and made the most of our dance time! He also was so organized and MC’d our reception time excellently. -

Can't rave enough about Steve! Hands down the easiest vendor we worked with for our wedding! One phone call and it was DONE! He got a feel for what we wanted and executed perfectly. He did all the hard work for us! Our guests never left the dance floor! His playlist covered all the music we wanted and more! He read the room flawlessly, NO AWKWARD PAUSES, or songs that people walked away for. NON STOP FUN! This is the easiest vendor you'll book, I PROMISE! -

If you don’t want to worry about anything…
DJ Steve is your guy! Not only can he put together the perfect playlist with a few suggestions, but he also has lights and Photo Booth that really add to the party. He created a custom photo strip that perfectly matched all our wedding collateral and then we got a file with all the strips and videos of everyone taking their photos.
He had the crowd dancing the entire time, even my 86 year old dad was dancing to YMCA!
The icing on the cake was our exit 2nd Line parade in honor of Larry’s New Orleans background. We couldn’t find a band and he DJ Steve suggested Louis Armstrong’s “When the Saints Go Marching In”. It revved up the crowd and saved us at least $500!!
No wedding goes perfectly, but if you hire DJ Steve you won’t have to worry about your guests having a blast!!

We hired steve for our wedding in June, and he was the VERY best! He was extremely helpful in helping us create our timeline, and was adaptive when things didn’t go as planned. The day of, he was very attentive, let my husband and I sit back throughout the wedding, and had the dance floor full all night. Our family let us know they also loved him, and a few asked for his information. We are so happy we went with Steve and highly recommend him! -

From the moment that we first spoke on the phone, we knew Steve was gonna be the BEST DJ! How can you go wrong with a guy whose email is @irocktheparty.com??? He ABSOLUTELY lives up to that! Steve provided us with sound for our ceremony, our reception DJ/emcee services, up lighting for the venue space, and our Photo Booth! I gotta say: EVERYTHING was 100% worth it!! We have been getting SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on our DJ/music! Our guests loved him! And one thing that was incredibly special to me and my husband: he made a special announcement to let us enjoy our first meal as husband and wife. It was so nice to have a moment to process the day ourselves while enjoying the lovely cocktails and feast before us. Thank you for everything, Steve! LET’S DO THIS! -

My review is long over due. I got married 10/22/2022 at Clarke Estate in Santa Fe Springs . They have a preferred DJ list - I was not very happy about that cause I wasn’t sure I would find a DJ that would match our style. I took a chance by calling Steve and from the first conversation I knew he was the DJ for us. He is very nice, funny and easy going. He put me at ease. I booked him and then before my wedding we discussed the music for the wedding. I had a diverse guest list that ranged from young to old, and also Hispanic, African American, and white. We worked out the play list and let me tell you - he played the best music. My guests were raving about the music!! Everyone had a great time dancing and really enjoyed themselves. Steve kept things moving and kept our ceremony and reception moving and on time. It even sprinkled heavily and that didn’t stop the dancing! I am so thankful for Steve! If you are like me and was skeptical about picking from a proffered DJ list - take my advice and pick Steve from Mindscape.
Oh one last thing he even organize an all guest photo opportunity for my photographer - it was such a great pic of us with everyone that attended our wedding.

I Couldn’t Have Asked for Better
Steve was everything we wanted and then some. He consistently went above and beyond and made last minute accommodations without complaining. He was extremely organized and provided us a template spreadsheet for the timeline and specific song placement. I also provided a sample list of different song genres and songs within those genres so that he knew the vibe we were going for. He included those songs and added similar songs. Needless to say, the music aspect of his work was exactly what we wanted.
He went out of his way consistently to give us advice, especially about the venue (Clarke Estate) which he has so much experience with. He got us in contact with an umbrella vendor that was within our budget (we couldn’t find one!) and he kept communicating with us about our expectations and filling us in with the timeline.
He was even so kind as to move an umbrella to our table and get us our favorite drinks from the bar while we were in line waiting to get food. He consistently went above and beyond. We would hire him again in a heartbeat and we hope you give him a chance too as you will not be disappointed! -

Tio Steve!
I cannot tell you have thankful I am to have Steve DJ for us! He was amazing and all of the guests are still raving about the wedding two weeks later! I felt like we were family, not only was he awesome with the music, he helped keep us on schedule, asked is we needed anything, got us a drink or two and really just catered to us without asking! He his a genuine human being and I’m so happy that you were there with us on our special day! The running “joke” when someone talks about the DJ I always refer to him as Tio Steve because he literally felt like family that day! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I highly recommended! -

Steve was absolutely amazing!!! We booked him for his DJ and photobooth services for our September 2021 wedding and could not be happier that we did. He was so professional, friendly and organized in all of our interactions as well as an excellent communicator. He really took the time to understand what we were looking for which made selecting our music and planning our timeline that much easier. We had quite a few different songs during our ceremony processional and our grand entrance and Steve executed everything so well. Our guests loved Steve too — we received so many compliments about him after the wedding was over! You know your DJ is good when the guests are happy and having a good time. If you’re looking for a DJ for your wedding, look no further because Steve is your guy! -

Above and Beyond
From the first time we spoke over the phone, we knew Steve was going to take care of us without worry and be everything we needed. He has a great initial presentation that covers so much info. We had to postpone a year due to Covid and making the change was seamless. When our wedding week finally came, Steve was commutative and covered all the last minute questions. We had a friend sing our first dance and Steve and her spoke directly to talk about the sound system and all those details. He was very accommodating! At the wedding, All our announcements and MCing was professional, fun and right on time. People were on the dance floor the whole night! Steve went above and beyond and took a lot of photos and precious video for us and sent them all over to me. Book with him and know that you will be taken care of! -

All I can say is wow!! Steve is the best DJ I have ever come across and I have been to a lot of weddings and events!! He is kind, extremely professional, funny, and quick to respond to all my emails and genuinely seemed excited to be our DJ. The day of, he set up all the equipment for our ceremony as well as the reception. He had lighting that looked amazing on the dance floor. He has a voice made for radio which made all bridal party/bride and groom entrances really fun. During the dance portion of the wedding, the songs he played were amazing and it kept everyone on the dance floor until the very end. My guests raved about him. He sends you a “must play list” a week or so before the wedding and he also takes song recommendations from guests. My Dad had a special request during his toast which he had no problem accommodating. If I could do our wedding day 100 times over again, I would have Steve be our DJ each time, he is that amazing!!!! -

Highly recommend, great job
Steve is so personable and easy to talk to, he ran with our ideas and helped make our day special. We got multiple compliments for the DJ choice. He did a great job of incorporating the type of music and songs we ask for as well as requests from our guests. It was also really amazing when there was more of a singing crowd on the dance floor he pulled out a mic and we basically had a karaoke session on the dance floor! Highly recommend! Would hire again! He even sent us some really great photos that captured things even the photographer missed! -

DJ Steve was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our guests loved him! He was professional, friendly, flexible, and extremely helpful and organized when it came to the actual planning. We utilized both his DJ and photo booth services and we are extremely glad we did! There was constant communication on Steve's end to ensure our wedding day was as special as possible, and we highly appreciated his quick responses to emails and texts. Although COVID-19 came and Steve could have easily decided to cancel on us, he patiently and happily continued to work with us until the very end until we finally received our venue confirmation (days prior to the wedding)! We can't recommend Steve enough! -

We hired DJ Steve for our February 2020 wedding and couldn't be happier with the decision! Before booking him, we hopped on a call where he walked us through a power point presentation outlining his services, and he was very attentive and answered all of our questions. After booking him he sent us these great tools that we could use to send him all of our song requests, search songs, send him details about events our reception would have, etc., and then a few weeks before the wedding we met with him to go through all of the details and the timeline. Steve is super flexible and listens to all of your needs, while chiming in with his expertise to offer suggestions as well. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and Steve did an amazing job. The music he played throughout the reception was great, from background dinner music, to getting the crowd on the dance floor. He also did a fun plate game to give away the center pieces that got the crowd pumped, and he had a fun way of leading into the money dance. Another bonus is Steve is bilingual, which was great for our reception as we had a lot of Spanish speaking family that I'm sure appreciated hearing all of the announcements in Spanish. Booking a DJ for us was a big deal because we wanted to make sure our crowd was never bored and was having a great time, and Steve made sure of that. If you're looking for a fun and professional DJ to keep the crowd on their feet and entertained, Steve is a great choice and we would without hesitation book him for another event - maybe a big anniversary! -

Steve is excellent with his work product. He was flexible in meeting with us and providing us with his expertise. His huge music collection and way of putting together a music list made it easy to select our songs. He listened to our every need and worked with our wedding coordinator to make the reception run smoothly. He is a total professional with very friendly demeanor. We totally recommend him. -

Steve is an amazing dj & emcee!
Steve was referred to us by another DJ and 2 friends of ours. He also just happened to be on the “preferred vendors list” from our wedding venue. From the moment we met Steve we knew he was THEE wedding DJ for us! From the moment we met him, he won us over with his sense of humor and professionalism. Our wedding day was out of a dream and mostly to thank Steve for music/emcee that kept the party going and our guests dancing all night! From our first conversation with Steve through the last song of the night at our wedding reception, we had the BEST experience working together. He is an absolute expert at his craft--a week after the big day, our friends and family still can’t stop raving about how he had everyone dancing the entire night. When you’re looking for a DJ, you’re hoping you find someone who successfully engages the audience and gets people excited during the party; Steve was a master in this arena as well, communicating flawlessly in English and Spanish with our guests and filling the dance floor with no unwanted breaks. His pre-wedding survey and extensive song bank helped us think through our desired playlists and flow of the evening, and he gave so many great recommendations that fit perfectly with our wedding vibe. He set up a cool Gobo for us, along with uplights that brought our wedding decorations to the next level. If we were to organize our entire wedding again, we would undoubtedly rehire Steve in a heartbeat! -
