Chris was awesome! He really helped keep the dancing going ,was open for change at last minute. He was extremely professional, lighting was awesome. Got many compliments from guest about him. Answered all my questions amd even helped us pick a few songs for our special moments. I would highly recommend him for any event

Wouldn't have gone anywhere else!

Stunning location. The ceremony location was incredible — along the banks of the Guadalupe River with a small waterfall and the Faust St trellis bridge as our backdrop and beautiful shade trees over the ceremony lawn. The River Venue for our reception provided a huge deck overlooking the river for our cocktail hour, and even when we moved inside for the reception, two walls of floor to ceiling windows allowed us to continue to enjoy the view. I thought the venue was a renovated historical building and was amazed to find out how recently it had been built with such an eye for detail. Vanessa was awesome to work with from the very first meeting. She was always willing to answer questions, give advice, and generally take care of things. Zach deserves a shout out for all his hard work the day of the event, making sure everything was set up the way we requested. And the fact that bartending and security are provided as part of the venue package of services made it so easy. Can’t imagine having picked any place else for our wedding.

Dont be afraid to call and ask questions! It looked like it was going to rain for our wedding and I was extremely worried because the river venue is GORGEOUS for an outside wedding. I was calling probably 2 times a day the week before the wedding. Vanessa was always extremely nice and assured me if it had to be indoors, there was plenty of space. Luckily the rain stopped the day before and it was perfect for an outdoor ceremony. The bartender through them was great. Brandon was extremely attentive and gave me his cell number for anything I needed through our the day. I was at my hair and make up appointment when my dj came and he needed a few tables so I just texted Brandon and he took care of it! I couldn't have asked for a better location or staff!! The venue is beautiful, you dont have to use many decorations and the natural light that came in for the reception just set an amazing mood.

Wow! What can I say other than we loved getting married here?? It was such a cozy venue, and so beautiful that you don't even need extravagant decorations to make it a wonderful wedding (even though we did kind of go overboard on the flowers and let me just say... it was magical). We chose the River Venue, which was perfect to accommodate our high guest count. It was also a perfect option if you want an outdoor wedding, but are worried about it raining-- because that's exactly what happened on our wedding day! It started to rain 30 minutes prior to the ceremony, and we were so worried that we were going to have to do the wedding inside (which is totally doable, because the reception venue is a stair-climb away from where the guests are normally seated). Luckily, the rain showed signs of stopping and my wonderfully adventurous husband and family decided "Let's go for it!" The great thing about it was that friends and family who didn't want to risk being caught in the mud and rain just watched the ceremony from the reception hall patio! It was actually quite beautiful and I'm glad it happened that way... the guests that watched from above then threw buckets of rose petals down on us when we kissed and walked back down the aisle, which is like... totally movie-worthy, don't you think? I say the River Venue is the way to go, because they even include the River Cabin, a 16-sleeper cabin, steps away from the venue. It's the perfect place for the after-party, even though my new husband and I were so exhausted after the day we never even made it over there. I heard everyone else had a great time though:) The Bridal/Honeymoon suite is also gorgeous!! It was a truly effortless and wonderful wedding, and I thank the wonderful Milltown ownership and staff for making sure everything ran smoothly up until the day, and for being so flexible with us the entire time through. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a seamless and magical day.

We loved having our wedding here! We had our reception in The Gallery and our ceremony on the Faust St Bridge. Although I think you can no longer use the bridge, the setting was absolutely beautiful and definitely sold us on the property. If you are having a smaller wedding, you know how hard it is to find a venue that is made for a smaller group of people! The price was really reasonable as well. Stephanie was an absolute breeze to work with, was super responsive to all of my emails and phone calls, and was so sweet on our big day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! We didn't use any of the in-house services, so I can't speak to those. As a venue though, you can't go wrong with Milltown! All of our guests raved about it too.

We absolutely loved this venue. My husband and I had our wedding reception in Milltown's river venue. The beautiful wooden windows looking out to the river were absolutely stunning, and we received so many compliments from guests. We worked closely with Silvia who was extremely helpful and professional throughout the planning process. I highly recommend this venue!

The Gallery was perfect for my small reception. Stephanie was so helpful with all my questions. I did my own decorations and they let me come in the day before to set it all up. The day of they were there to help of I needed anything and stopped by to make sure everything was going smoothly through the night.

We booked the River Venue. We had our ceremony last Friday outside with the river behind us. The night was lovely with the cocktail hour on the porch and reception inside. Many guests were from out of state and were very impressed with the natural beauty of Milltown. The reception hall needs minimal decorating because it's already adorned with cedar and rock. Many compliments on the beautiful venue. I am very happy with our choice to begin the rest of our lives here.

I chose the River Venue and all of my guest are still raving about how IT WAS THE BEST WEDDING LOCATION ANYONE HAD EVER BEEN TO! This place is stunning! It sits on the Guadalupe River, has a view of a waterfall, & The Faust Historic Bridge. If you want a quick tour you can walk on the bridge and see the entire River Venue from up above. (This is also a fun location for the wedding exit!) The view from the bridge will have you wanting a full tour & when this happens ask for STEPHANIE!!! I met her at my first visit here with my family and WE ALL LOVED HER! She is so genuine and sweet and we all truly felt like we had known her forever. I visited numerous other places in the hill country but the natural beauty of this location and hospitality from Stephanie could not be beat. So last Feb. I ended up booking my date for Oct. 2, 2015. I live in Houston and hours from this venue, which could make for stressful planning. Anytime I called or came into town the staff was so accommodating in answering the questions or request that I had. I visited the venue numerous times in those 8 months and several times it was a last minute trip. Stephanie and Tiana happily meet with me every time and I appreciate that till this day. They have weddings there every weekend but they make you feel like you are their only bride anytime you need something. They genuinely enjoy their job and want you to have the wedding of your dreams. For this reason I also highly recommend their in-house florist ( also STEPHANIE) and photographer (TIANA). We all loved these two. I am having to write separate reviews on those services because the space allotted for this review does not allow enough characters for all the good stuff I still have left to share. :)

Stephanie was amazing! Everyone took such great care of us to make sure everything was perfect. We spent a good amount on the venue but we got so much more than other venues offered for the same price. We had a rehearsal space, ceremony location, reception venue and all the cabins slept our huge bridal part for the whole weekend!

We used the Grande venue for our reception and our ceremony was at the gazebo. Stephanie and the staff at Milltown did an amazing job to ensure our day was special. They were there the entire wedding to make sure we had everything we needed!

I just booked this venue yesterday (The Grande). I have already sent several emails back and forth with Michelle and she is very prompt in responding. So far they have been very flexible with allowing us to provide our own alcohol and security. I also come from a divorced family and they worked with us on splitting the deposit two ways. Its still early in the whole process but I am very confident that we will have a positive relationship. I will say that the people working there (to include Stephanie) were all very down to earth and genuine.

Update- I love Milltown. My wedding was beautiful. Michelle is the bomb, I don't know how many emails she answered over the past year and a half but let me tell you she is prompt. I would absolutely recommend this venue. Also we rented some of the cabins onsite for the night of the wedding. They were so cute and way better than blocking off hotel rooms.

The Milltown Historic was the perfect location for our daughter's wedding reception. The staff met/exceeded ourexpectations all the way from start to finish. The reception was in the Grande Hall. We had photos taken at the gazebo and insdie the hall. The flower arrangements were stunning, made by Stephanie at Milltown. The guests were very happy with the location and we danced for several hours.

You can't go wrong with the bar contractors, Margarita Madness. They are very good bartenders.

EVeryone was very professional. Adam was on site to assist and kept us abreast on the weather, it was a day/evening filled with heavy storms and tornadoes.

Recommend this site for any special occasion, it's an old mill and it's been renovated to be a very elegent hall. You have to check this place out! It's amazing!

BEST PLACE EVER for a Wedding! Every single person who came said it is the most beautiful spot EVER! We loved the river view, the log-style building for the reception: so beautiful that we spent very little on deco. The Staff went overboard to make our day Fabulous: they fixed my daisy headdress, checked in with our planners often, and smiled all the time. Let us visit multiple times to plan tables. The Big and Little Houses right next door were completely outfitted and not too expensive--the Wedding Party loved the access! We recommend Milltown Historic District to everyone getting married anywhere near New Braunfels!

They offer multiple venue locations between formal and casual. Most of the venue's are naturally beautiful and do not require alot of decorations. The staff is very friendly, flexible, and great with communication. They also offer private cottages that may be rented for the event, we chose the honeymoon suite so we don't have to travel that evening. I couldn't be more happy with any other venue!

The wedding was, simply put, amazing! My wife and I really enjoyed every aspect of the venue and the wedding. The staff were very accommodating and courteous. Our wedding reception was in the River Venue, and it fit the mood exactly. The weather was perfect for the ceremony, and the view of the river went well with the proceedings.

All in all, I'm very happy with my wedding at Milltown, and I'll be glad to refer any friends who are thinking about getting married!

We got married at "The Grande" and we could not have asked for a better venue to have our wedding! It was convenient for us and our guests because we held all of our wedding day festivities on the property. For even more convenience, they have cottages for you and your guests to rent for the wedding weekend. We rented one of the cottages for our wedding night so we didn't have far to go after the party was over and it was perfect! Make sure you consider using the in-house services for your event. We used their stationary department and created custom invitations and also used their floral department for wedding flowers and centerpieces. They were all professional and very helpful! We could not have asked for a better team to work with leading up to our wedding and especially on our wedding day! We would highly recommend Milltown to anyone looking for a unique venue with all the services and accommodations to make your wedding weekend perfect!

Milltown is a great place to have a wedding. We had our wedding at the River Venue on 10/12/2014. Stephanie had been helping us since December 2013. She helped with date availability, flowers, scoping out the place for decoration ideas and even the day of making sure everything was perfect. The team at Milltown is wonderful and they all work together to make sure everything goes just as you have envisioned. My wedding day was perfect thanks to Stephanie, the Milltown team, and Tiana, our photographer, who was recommended by Milltown. The venue is beautiful and accommodated my wedding of 100 guests, a small dance floor and about 10 tables and a few extras for gifts, children’s activity and candy bar. I can’t think of any other place to have my wedding ceremony and reception. Thanks you for all your hard work in making my day perfect!

Milltown was all I dreamt it would be! All the staff were always available and helpful but Michelle was the most amazing person to work with. Venue on the River is beautiful!!! We had our Company Christmas Party there and everything was wonderful. Loved it! Diana and the staff were a dream to work with and made sure everything was perfect. Even though a few of us had to work hard to decorate, it was well worth it once we saw how beautiful it looked. We even rented some of the cabins so that we could stay on site which worked out great! Will definitely be having some future events here!

The quality and beauty of this venue was beyond expectations. The service provided from setup, coordination, entry (transporting attendees from parking lot to venue), and unexpected growth of event was of the highest quality and with a personal touch. A beautiful venue and wonderful people to work with! My daughter's wedding was 2 days after the river flooded and everything was cleaned up and gorgeous for her big day. Diana worked with us to make sure everything was just as we wanted and Michelle captured my daughter's vision perfectly with flowers. We had several guests comment on the setting, the flowers and the helpfulness of the staff. Our out of town family stayed in the cabins, made the weekend even more special to have close friends and family nearby to share all of the special details with us. This is truly a special gem, you won't be disappointed and the value is exceptional! They truly work to make the bride's special day all that she has imagined and dreamed about. My daughter told me that her wedding was "everything and more" that she wanted -- a tribute to the wonderful folks at Milltown.

Everything about our experience at milltown was amazing. We absolutely adore michelle and her husband tom. from the very first time i met with her all the way until the end of our wedding i felt as though i had a trusted friend by my side. she was very generous and supportive throughout the entire planning process. she and her team provide excellent customer service and constantly work to keep the venue looking beautiful. the venue itself was such a great deal compared to other places we looked, and the cabins next door really enhance the experience. big hugs and thanks from rey and I! Now I'm sad I won't get to visit with you!

Loved Miltown and the staff..It was a beautiful location to have a wedding and the entire staff were so helpful and accommodating especially Tom and Michelle. Thank you so much for helping our daughter and new son-in-law's wedding be such a success and for going that extra mile when we really needed it most. Ya'll were awesome!! This was a destination wedding for us so it was extremely helpful being able to stay in cabins that were located on the same property as the venue. They lasted a long time. All of our guests had a great time. This venue is one I have seen develop from the get go and couldn't have thoughts of a better place to have my parents surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary!! I have know Ed Thomae and his group for some time and didn't expect anything but the best!! From the quality of the entire site to the actual party in the Hill Country themed reception hall with incredible views out onto the Guadalupe Rive, the falls and the Historic Faust Bridge. An incredible place for any type of event. In fact several of our guest have turned around and booked the facility for their own anniversary, birthday, and other celebrations. If you are looking for a gorgeous setting with a rustic feel, this is the place for you! Michelle at Milltown is totally awesome! She is so kind and willing to help to make your day perfect! She takes all the stress away from you on the day of the event. She even promised no rain, and as it was thundering a couple hours before the event, I have to say I had my doubts, but she was right, It did not rain! :) Everyone at Milltown is so nice and courteous and willing to help with whatever you need! Milltown Historic District is a diamond in the rough. Few people know about it's hidden existence right off 46 and 35 on the Guadalupe, but everyone who visits is extremely surprised by its beauty and picturesque hill country style. From the beautiful backdrop of the historic Faust bridge and waterfall on the Guadalupe river for your ceremony, to the upstairs gorgeous hill country designed reception hall, the entire venue is an absolute dream for outdoor lovers. Michelle and Diana are amazing women to work with and help you every step of the way by providing first class service and amenities for your entire event and special day. I could not recommend or stand behind another venue so highly. A major bonus is that the facility has cute little cottages all around it for your family and friends to rent and stay onsite with you after your event. This was a huge help when it came to breaking everything down and all of us continuing to share in our special day.

This is a wonderful place. Our guests will be talking about it for a long time.
We have had many compliments on the venue.
The staff was very helpful, Michelle was great to work with.

Some of our guest had problems finding the venue with GPS, but the Milltown website has an accurate map. Anyone looking at the website will not have a problem finding it.

This venue is to die for and it's very affordable, considering all it offers. We absolutely LOVED having our wedding there! Michelle Whaley, our coordinator, made everything simple and stress-free. We followed her recommendations for caterer, photographer and DJ, all of which were great. The venue itself is easily accessible from Austin and San Antonio in beautiful historic New Braunfels, TX. It overlooks the Guadalupe River and a beautiful old bridge. We REALLY loved the convenience of their on-site cottages, too. Our wedding party stayed in them and it made things so easy for us with setting up and at the end of the evening. It's more affordable than Austin and San Antonio venues with a comparable setting and the staff are SO helpful and accommodating. Big thumbs up for Milltown Historic District Events Center!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue, overlooking the Guadalupe River and the historic Faust Street bridge. this venue is about 30 minutes from San Antonio and 45 minutes from Austin in the charming Historic city of New Braunfels. Michelle Whaley was our coordinator. She kept us calm, organized and running smoothly from start to finish. Everything was simple, thanks to her experienced and professional hand. our party also enjoyed the convenience of staying in the cottages on the property. We had a wonderful and truly enjoyable wedding and are so grateful we found this fantastic venue and wonderful team for our big day.

Milltown Events Center is an absolutely beautiful venue to have your wedding reception. Our guests said it felt so comfortable and homey yet beautiful. The inside is gorgeous with all the cedarwood and stone fireplace and stained concrete floor as well as the views of the river and trees from the outside deck or from the floor to ceiling windows are breathtaking. Faust Street Bridge provides a picturesque background to your photos as well as a wonderful backdrop just to take in as a view and conversation topic. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful the whole time we were there, from setup to finish. Our friends and family told me they are dreaming of having an event at Milltown in the future!

The Grande was absolutely beautiful! Everyone was so impressed by the simple elegance that this venue has to offer. The chandeliers are the icing on the cake! This venue fit 110 people perfectly with plenty of room to dance! The bridge nearby made the perfect back drop for pictures with the sunset! Milltown has several venues to choose from and are extremely easy to work with. They also provide services such as Invitations, In house flowers, and photography. It was worth every penny!!!

I wasn't a huge fan of the idea of a big wedding from the start so I didn't much look forward to the process of planning a wedding until my now husband and I found the Grande at Milltown. I absolutely fell in love with the restored building and I would take any opportunity to go back to visit. We had seating for 120 and from how much floor was open I think seating for 175 could comfortably be set up but there wouldn't be room for much of a dance floor, I didn't want to invite more than 120 but we could have sat 150 and still had a small dance floor.
The staff at Milltown is very helpful, they can provide linen services and give a comprehensive list of suggested vendors. We went with one of their suggestions for almost every vendor and their suggestions were great.
I rented a cabin there for my girls and it made the morning of so much easier not having to worry about when they would show up and having a place to put some things after the rehearsal was great. The price of the cabins was very reasonable for what you get and for the amount of sleeping space, plus they were very cute.
My only complaint would be that they have a strict lock up policy for 4pm on days an event is not going on so the latest my rehearsal could be on the day before was 3 pm. It worked out, it was just very hot and sunny at that time in August but I was happy we were able to do the rehearsal the day before with people coming in from out of town.

We held our wedding here on May 2nd, 2015 and we could not have asked for a more perfect location. We booked the River Venue which is a beautiful hall with big windows and a bank overlooking the river. The space was gorgeous, it adapts easily to whatever theme or color scheme you have, and all our guests were raving about how amazing it was. Not only that, but the staff are incredibly friendly, always accommodating, and happy to help you with all of your wedding needs. It's a family run business and they do a great job of making you feel like you're part of that family. They also provide a vendor list which we found very helpful, and it was a great bonus having an in-house photographer (who also does stationary, but we did not use that service) & florist. All in all, I'd have to say our wonderful and perfect wedding would not have been possible without the fabulous family running this event center. Two thumbs up from every single one of our wedding guests!

Father of the Bride with a review of Milltown Historical District. My daughter picked this venue for her wedding and while others were looked at this presented a beautiful and unique spin to a traditional church wedding. Yes there were a few problems which were either a misunderstanding, miscommunication between both vendor staff and wedding party. Now every DAD wants his daughter's day to go perfect without question, and once the few items were addressed, they were quickly resolved to my satisfaction. Just in passing I had a chance to meet the owner, Mr..Eddie Thomae. We talked and while a businessman ,I found a truly caring and concerned person to make sure my daughters day was special. Both daughter and her mother arranged, catering,floral,and decorated. While others might look to Milltown to handle everything, they do, daughter and mom did all. They really pulled it all together and was beautiful as mentioned by reviewers seeing their finished work. The staff were attentive and professional, the owner I invited inside to see how everything turned out. Before I walked my daughter down we looked at each other,Mr.Thomae asked was anything else he could do. It hit me my lil girl is all grown up and now its time, tears appeared in both daughters and dads eyes.Mr.Thomae went and returned with tissues for both of us,nodding to both ,and a encouraging pat on my back. How many owners would have even bothered to come to someone's venue? This little act of kindness says volumes of the owner and this venue. He knows he is on our Christmas Card list and a friend was made as well. Happy Dad

Wonderful/Perfect Wedding Venue for the Rustic or Country type wedding, we booked the River Venue which is steps away from the Guadalupe River, our ceremony was held outdoor right on the banks of the Guadalupe River, with an Amazing Back Drop of the river and rustic walk over Faust st. Bridge!! This made for Beautiful Engagement and Wedding Photos!! Staff was Wonderful and Attentive to our needs!! Only downfall would be selection of possibilities for bride and groom exit, but used glow sticks and the pictures came out wonderful!!! Otherwise we were able to choose our own vendors, without having to choose from a mandatory list. Great Service and Venue all around!!

The venue was beautiful and the staff was very helpful in organizing times and allowing us on the property early to decorate. Not many decorations were needed as the atmosphere was beautiful with the green lawn and the Guadalupe with beautiful trees were the background. The reception was over looking the venue and very open to allow for easy flow. It was perfect for the look I wanted, friendly staff and the price fit perfectly in budget.

They are definitely growing and are more in demand. That's not without reason - they were very responsive, attentive, and willing to work with us (they even let us do set up the day before since the venue wasn't in use that day). I was a little surprised at the amount of traffic at the venue on the date we had reserved, as I wasn't aware that there would be showings going all morning before our wedding, but they cleared it all up and finished up long before we were set to begin. They made sure I was comfortable and taken care of all day. There were only a couple of hiccups. One being a slightly awkward convo with another bride when I was setting up. The venue asked when I was okay with her rehearsal at the venue on my wedding day, I told them I'd prefer it done a couple hours before mine was set to start so there was no awkward overlap - her family said they were told that I didn't want them rehearsing. They seemed a little peeved at me, though I was not the one who offered them rehearsal time when someone else paid money for that day - I would have liked a little more professionalism from the venue in that respect. Second hiccup was very minor. A dog wandered in off the streets during our reception. It was clean and well fed, and it managed to hang around our reception for at least an hour before a staff member got it out. My husband had to take a break from the reception to go find someone to get it out. It turned out to be a funny and memorable anecdote, but generally you prefer stray dogs not show up and be allowed to hang around for so long. I honestly feel bad critiquing them at all since Diana and Michelle were helpful and very enjoyable to work with. From the first day we toured to the last minutes of our reception - they went above and beyond to accommodate and work with us. They do a great job, and it's a fantastic venue! It made our day absolutely PERFECT!

My wife and I had our ceremony and reception in the River Venue at Milltown Historic District in November 2016, and we were beyond happy with the place as a venue. The recently upgraded outside patio (which was without a doubt our favorite part of the venue) perfectly accent to the historic Faust St. Bridge, and the River Venue itself, full of glass, and wood and stone elements is a beautiful space that was truly memorable for both us and our guests. The lawn was in excellent shape for being November in Texas, and the venue was clean and accessible to guests with mobility issues thanks to the staff-operated golf carts! They have a monthly payment plan which was definitely a plus when it came to budgeting for this wedding. They offer a good variety of linens, and provide the tables and chairs for both the ceremony and reception. We also rented all the of the cabins on-site for our out of town family and friends to stay in, which was PERFECT. The cabins are comfy, spacious, clean, and decorated in a quaint rustic way that suited our wedding’s theme. Overall, the space is beautiful, the staff professional, and the value worth it.
We were not, however, made aware when we paid the deposit for the space that we were not guaranteed a place for a rehearsal. Our wedding was scheduled for a Saturday, meaning our rehearsal would traditionally be on a Friday. I didn’t find out it wasn’t guaranteed until months before the wedding, and then I was told they would let me know if the space was available in the month before, which led to some scrambling when we found out that a wedding was being held in the space that Friday after all. Being that November in Texas is a very popular wedding month, I think it might be better if all interested parties are informed straightaway that a rehearsal in the River Venue is unlikely.

TLDR; Beautiful and unique venue; linens, tables and chairs available; be prepared to rehearse elsewhere!

Beautiful venue!! We had our wedding and reception recently at the River Venue location by the water. Milltown Staff was very helpful the week of the wedding allowing us to setup the day before the wedding ( which helped tremendously), have rehersal the evening prior and they were available all day of our wedding. They even allowed my bridal party and I use one of the other venue dressing area ( which was beautiful) to get ready until our cabins were ready to enter into. Anything we needed they didn't hestiate to assist with. They even had onsite cabins which our bridal party loved, and shuttle/golf car services for those who needed it. Everything was conveniently located. Our guests all spoke of how beautiful the venue and atmosphere was. Glad we chose this venue!

We had our wedding/reception at the Grande venue. This venue is a beautiful and elegant facility that we HIGHLY recommend. We worked with Michelle throughout the entire process. Michelle made things easy for us and made sure things ran smoothly on the day of. The only complaint I would say was we wished there was a little more communication leading up to the day. We tried to reach out to ask a few questions a few weeks before to make sure we had everything we needed for the day of and it sometimes took them a few days to week to respond. There was also a miscommunication because we were told that we needed to supply our own tablecloths, so we bought them and once we got to the venue the day of, they were laid out on the tables for us and they stated they were there for us to use. This would have been nice to know ahead of time so we did waste money purchasing our own. Besides those few minor issues, Michelle and everyone at Milltown was a pleasure to work with and the wedding could not have been any better!

Milltown is great! I had the best wedding ever there! They are very flexible so you can make your wedding however you want. They also have a list of preferred vendors which makes choosing a lot easier. Michelle is great to work with! The river and bridge make for great pictures as well!

Our wedding was on 5/25/13. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and made for beautiful pictures with the Guadalupe river and faust street bridge as a backdrop. The staff was very friendly and flexable allowing us to take all of the planning into our own hands and putting up tents and lights. We never really had a coordinator for the day of the wedding and had to ask for several things to be done the day of the wedding, but they were very accommodating when we asked. Michelle Whaley worked with us taking note of our catering/rentals/cake services. She was also our florist and did all of our decor from the bouquet to the petals down the isle, I've never seen such beautiful work. I'm very pleased with having my wedding at this venue, I couldn't have chosen a better place.

A Breathtaking Place to Say I DO!

We stumbled upon this beautiful venue by chance walking along Faust Bridge, prior to our engagement. Once we were engaged, we couldn't stop thinking about this place. When we signed with Milltown for The River Venue, Vanessa was our point of contact, and if we could provide Vanessa a personalized review we would! She was amazing! She is amazing! She was incredibly responsive, flexible, and passionate about helping make our day special!

Vanessa left Milltown about 6 months prior to our wedding, and we were so saddened by that news. After Vanessa left, we felt the personal touch from the venue also left. The communication afterwards was not at the same level.

Do not get me wrong, the location is what you are paying for - it's breathtaking. It was the talk of our wedding, and still is! However for the price you pay there were certain things we expected. So here are some PROS and CONS.

PROs:
Location, location, location - you cannot beat it!
The deck is beautiful at night - we had our dance floor outside with string lights overhead. It was magical! They even have a fireplace inside - we lit it after dinner.
On site lodging for your and your wedding party (we rented 4 of the 5 available cabins and stayed throughout the weekend).
Our coordinator (The Perfect Day) has worked with them for multiple weddings and the venue made the site available for vision meetings with our vendors, and we did rehearsal on site.
Michael with the bartending team was incredibly helpful with alcohol numbers and suggestions for our signature drinks.
Security was so kind - they even helped us move items at the end of the night!

CONs:
Faust Bridge is public - so you may have wedding watchers (if that would bother you).
Construction is currently happening (Nov 2021) in view of the outdoor ceremony site (the venue did not communicate this with us, we found out on a vision meeting about 30 days before the wedding). When our coordinator asked the venue if the construction would be paused on Saturday, they said yes. However minutes before we started, workers were on site and about to begin. Thankfully they did not.
The key codes for the cabins did not work, and the hosts were not readily available. This added unnecessary stress and put us behind on rehearsal timelines.
Bar wise - for a wedding venue we were shocked they did not supply drink carafes/dispensers for ease of mixed signature drinks.
The parking lot is shared between their 3 venues - so up to 3 weddings could be happening at once.
The places needs some sprucing up - the deck in particular. Some string lights were out, the paint is peeling and needs sealant.

Overall our wedding was wonderful. The venue was beautiful, and we walked away in love and as husband and wife!! We hope this review helps you find your venue and your happily ever after!

We got married December 11 at the river venue which by the way is gorgeous. Our only complaint is the floral department there. They were always late to charge my sisters card and at the last month they tried to charge her a double amount because of their mistakes. We got things worked out in the end and they acknowledged that they were in the wrong to charge double and waive the last payment. I had such a blast that day though that nothing soured my overall experience there. I highly recommend that you read very carefully your contact, I could have better prepared myself, that's on me though.

I booked the gallery. The price was great for our small intimate wedding ceremony. So I thought, when we were setting up for the reception I noticed a large hole that had been conveniently hidden by an ugly 55gal trash can! It was a complete eye sore! However the photographer was nothing short of amazing! She is beyond talented and her customer service was amazing she is the only reason I rated so high!

Unmistakenly, Milltown Historic district is a beautiful venue. Especially the river venue where we got married and had our reception. My positivity regarding the venue and their customer service ends there. My husband and I joke that Milltown's favorite word is "no". There is virtually no customer service attached to booking their venue. As an example, I never even had the venue coordinator's cell phone number until the day of the event, six hours after I arrived. Despite booking our rehearsal dinner at the venue the night before, we were not permitted to keep anything in the refrigerators overnight (from 10pm to 9am between the events). Each request was met by the answer "no "without any alternative solutions being offered. Stephanie, our "venue coordinator" was generally unavailable even on the day of our wedding. We were simply left to fend for ourselves to find what we needed.

We also booked our photographer through Milltown, Tiana Hoover. We spent hours filling out the provided form detailing the order in which photos will be taken, with which groups of friends and family members before and after the ceremony. This list was never utilized and an entire portion of the grooms family was completely excluded from the family photos. When we realized this, and asked the photographer where the list was and why it wasn't being followed, he pulled it from his pocket with a look of "Oh this??" on his face. To top it all off, it is now 6 weeks after our wedding with no sign of our wedding photos. When I finally emailed Tiana to ask when I could expect our photos (previously promised to arrive within 2- 3 weeks), it appears she had shipped them to the wrong address without any email or shipment notification.

It's a beautiful venue, but don't book here if you don't have the time and/or help to be on top of every single detail yourself. They are poorly organized and not the customer service experience I would expect of a wedding venue at that cost.

We had our wedding at the River Venue and it is an absolutely beautiful venue but the way we were treated was absolutely horrible. The place is amazing and inside is very pretty However, I have received nothing but unprofessional and rude attitudes from all but one employee of Milltown (and the one person who was professional and nice only spoke to me to say "congratulations"). The venue itself is very over-priced and does not include either of the cabins on the property to stay in except to change in the day of. It had been raining the day before and the day of my wedding and during the rehearsal I was told that the "call time" for having the ceremony indoors or outdoors would be over five hours before the actual ceremony began. The day of, I received a call saying the ceremony would be indoors as the field by the river was too wet to even walk in. The field was not too wet to walk into and my shoes were not dirty at all so I told the employee there that I wanted the ceremony outside (since that is the selling point of this small, rustic venue). My request was met with a very rude response. Throughout this entire process they have been incredibly reluctant to help at all. After my maid of honor told the employee that the bridal party could move the chairs downstairs and that the chairs that were set up inside were lacking in amount by 10, the employee began to speak about me as if I was not standing three feet from her. No one from the venue was available during the ceremony in case anything happened and the only employee I saw was at 10pm who began to sweep up an hour before we needed to be out of the venue and becore we were even done breaking everything down. This is a very beautiful venue, however, I would never again do business with them. You would expect their employees and even the owner to be empathetic to the bride and make sure they were happy or at least treated with respect, however, I never once felt that way when dealing with anyone here.

The management at this venue needs to be fired. They overcharged us which they fixed. The flower service quoted U.S. One price for one option. Then 2 months later a higher quote for less flowers. They had no one on site to manage the property during the event. The AC out in the suite where my wife got ready. No one turned on the AC in the venue the night before so it would be cooled off. Just overall not a well run property it's a same because it's a perfect venue. If you use them get your own florist and photographer and hire an event coordinator because they are no help. Also the shuttle we were promised never showed up we were told we had them for two hours.

I had my wedding at Milltown this past weekend. I would have liked more bang for our buck. I originally was going to go with Embassy but decided not to because of the cost per person. We had some incidents with the staff, Diana was way too into our business, waited until the last minute for important details and came off as power hungry/controlling. I said I had everything handled,which I did, but she took it upon herself to call the vendor I used to cater the wedding. I felt disrespected that she got into the business deal between the catering company and myself. That could have cause a lot of confusion. Not everything is in the contract and she even said she "assumed" I knew. Just to have the ceremony there is $500 and if you want chairs you have to pay $300 extra.....I could have had the wedding in the church we originally wanted. I handled everything myself from catering to flowers. She kept telling me how she couldn't believe I was doing everything myself. In my eyes, it does not matter who does the details of the wedding as long as they get done. I felt she crossed many lines of being professional. The cost of the venue is too high for the view. During the time we had to set up the venue, the staff hosted tours of the venue to potential customers, I did not appreciate that. I know there are trashy people who destroy and trash venues. However we are not those people and I was talked to like I was....before we even had the venue. The owner came to the rescue and cleared things up with my father. I wished we would have dealt with him the whole time instead of Diana, she caused way too much unnecessary stress.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the River Venue at Milltown on May 21, 2016. Overall, our event was wonderful and beautiful. For the wedding, we worked with 6-7 vendors and had lovely experiences with all of them…except Milltown.
We dealt with several employees throughout the process. My mother and I routinely, felt like we were bothering the women in the office by choosing to do business with them. What a strange way to make your clients feel! When we tried to schedule times to visit the venue or confirm details, it usually felt like they wished we would not come by or contact them.
One particularly experience stands out. I took a day off from work to visit the venue 6-8 weeks before the wedding. They scheduled an appointment for us in the afternoon. The woman showing us the venue repeatedly told us that we only had a few minutes because she had to pick her daughter up at school and that she could not come back afterwards. The woman did not even walk inside the venue but stood at the door, shaking her keys. We were rushed in and rushed out.
We ran into many, many more issues throughout the planning process and the day of (longer review on Google). Nothing big but so many small things that the venue became the most stressful part of the wedding. If you choose to get married here, a word of advice: If you want it, ask for it and you still might have to take care of it yourself.
My mother and I are or have been professionals in service industries. We truly believe in treating others how you want to be treated and demonstrated that throughout the process. I wish our experience with the staff had been different. The running of Milltown seems like a hobby. Milltown is not an inexpensive venue and our requests were all within what you should expect from a venue in that price bracket (toilet paper? grass mowed?). If they can get these kinks worked out, I would recommend Milltown River Venue wholeheartedly.

First off we are told we have to set up our own ceremony chairs. Well my groomsmen and I did set it up, in the rain, and I have to say it looked pretty darn good, no thanks to the staff. It probably wasn't 20 minutes later and I saw the staff of the venue setting up chairs for another wedding on the grounds. We accepted the fact that its going to rain. They refused to set up a ceremony inside and then reset up for the reception. If we were to do our wedding inside, we would have to use the reception set up and just "deal with it." The lady helping us "Stephanie" was generally nice but not helpful at all. First they set up the reception tables completely different than what we had decided on. They were about 5 tables short, no mats on the floors, and the catering tables were missing. So instead of my wife relaxing on her big day, she was running around trying to get all of these issues fixed. Every time she asked Stephanie something, it would take her an hour to come back and she did not have the things my wife asked for, and then she would ask if there's anything she could do! AHH annoying. We had to start the reception with no dance floor because of space, and remove tables halfway through to make room for a dance floor. When the reception started the lighting was all the way up, no mood lighting, and the AC was on about 72 which caused us to sweat all night. I called Stephanie to try to find a fix for the lights and AC and not only did she not answer, she did not even call back. Not once did someone from the venue stop by to make sure everything was ok and their excuse was "We are understaffed." Here is what made me angry the most. We chose our spot for a wedding because the river was beautiful and it had a beautiful bridge going across it and we wanted all that in the background of our wedding, and that is also the selling point for that sight. Well they scheduled another wedding to take place ON the bridge DURING my wedding.
