Beautiful, perfect

Staff and owners are so easy to work with and polite. The venue is so beautiful without any added decorations and the view is stunning, thank you so much for helping my wedding go perfectly

Great venue!

Millikan Farms was great during the wedding planning process. They are reasonably priced, very responsive and overall a beautiful venue. Cynthia was easy to work with and helpful in bringing my ideas to life. Highly recommend!

So seamless and smooth! And perfectly beatiful!

The team at Millikan was so so easy to work with, especially Cynthia! She is the most responsive person ever; if I emailed her about something at 1030 at night (not expecting a response until the next day) she emailed right back! She made it easy to schedule my pre-wedding walk throughs in a way that worked with my schedule (and about 8 other people's when I brought a group to one of them!) Cynthia also has so much knowledge about the wedding business and decorating that was super helpful. Although she was not my hired decorator, I bounced ideas off of her and rented some of her things!
On top of all that, Millikan is truly so beautiful. The setting is gorgeous and both the inside and outside option is perfect. That's what sold me on having my wedding there! I knew that no matter what the weather looked like on wedding day, that the setting would be beautiful!

Amazing Vendor and Venue! The Red Barn of my Dreams

We booked Millikan Farms way before COVID was a thing and unforunately had to go through the wedding planning process during COVID. Cynthia and her team were fantastic to work with! They made everything so painless and safe. Any questions I had she was always there to answer them. The venue itself is a beautiful two story red barn with plenty space to spread out. We even had to make a morning of change in our plans of having an outdoor reception and moved everything upstairs. It was seamless. The lights on the inside created an atmosphere that was loved by all of our guests. I can not tell you how many times I was told how beautiful the venue was by our guests. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Beautiful Venue

I had loved Millikan Farms since I heard about it years ago! I always said I would get married here and I'm so glad I did! Millikan Farms is beautiful and very reasonably priced! All my guests complimented on how beautiful the barn was! And if you think it is beautiful in the day time just wait until the evening!
Cynthia was amazing to work with as well! She is very responsive and was very helpful throughout the whole planning process! They even accommodated our mini horse who was the ring bearer! I am so happy we were able to spend our special day at Millikan Farms!

Excellent Customer Service!

Getting married during Covid-19 has had its challenges but Cynthia with Millikan Farms went above and beyond. It is a gorgeous venue with a great price. Cynthia was very responsive and helpful during the whole process. I would highly recommend Millikan Farms to others!

Could not have been more pleased!

This venue was perfect for us! Let us use our own vendors, as well as helped when we needed advice on some. They were very helpful and responsive to questions before the big day and the crew there on the day of was so nice! They even offered to help with getting ubers for our guests! Could not have been more pleased with the venue or the experience! Highly recommend! Also, very affordable!

Best Wedding Ever

This venue is perfect. It's so versatile. You can have your wedding and reception all in one and can fit 150 people at one time comfortably inside, outside,by the water, or on the huge covered patio. Chairs and tables were already there and the venue has a room with a large bar area. A huge bridal suite with a private bath was a big benefit. A kitchen area for prep and a ramp for moving equipment from upstairs was so easy. The upstairs is so pretty it really needs very little for decorations. The staff were great and were so helpful! All of my guests loved this place. I would recommend Millikan to anyone I know.

Absolutely Loved

We knew from the moment we pulled up that this was where we wanted to get married. The scenery around the barn was the perfect place for our big day!

Everything was very clean, and there were so many lights already set up that it made things so much easier on the day! We were assigned to Laney for all questions and she always answered them very quickly and was extremely helpful with everything we needed to know! Their staff was friendly and kind and was always willing to assist with tips and questions to make sure everything went smooth.

The barn had everything we needed and more! Their price was very reasonable for all that’s included and they were great at accommodating any special needs or requests! I was very pleased with our decision from the very beginning, to the second we pulled off the lot married. This is a breathtaking place!

This venue was perfect! It had everything you need!! Loved it!
The briday suite was very spacious - we had eight girls plus the bride and the flower girls and had plenty of room. The owner Ben did all that he could do to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this venue.

This venue is absolutely gorgeous all on it's own, but with our added touches our dream wedding came to life. We got rave reviews about how beautiful the barn is and it had plenty of space for everything we needed. We were able to host the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all in one place and it was all beautiful. Ben (owner) is wonderful to work with. Throughout the planning process he was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had and always available when I needed him. Wedding weekend he was there and helped out in any way he could. We needed several last minute items that we're left behind like hammers, scissors, batteries and he came through on every little thing. He even went as far as to go get a Keurig that Friday before and stock the bridesmaids' room up with a huge coffee and creamer selection. He was a refreshing person to work with in an industry that can often not be so flexible and helpful outside of the "contract". I would recommend this place to anyone I knew looking for a beautiful rustic venue!

Just started looking for a venue for our wedding. This was the first place we visited. The location is BEAUTIFUL!! They have really put a lot of work into the barn and it shows! The owner, Ben, was running late, but his dad was there and showed us around and answered all of our questions. Ben was extremely helpful. We left and called back an hour later to book the location. We absolutely fell in love with the place and cannot wait to show it to all of our friends and family on our big day!

I could not have asked for a better venue for my wedding day. It is absolutely gorgeous. The venue has multiple options for ceremony locations which is something I loved, and all the locations are beautiful! We chose to have our ceremony upstairs in the loft. It is huge and naturally beautiful. Our wedding day was perfect and I have to think that the main reason it went so well is because of our venue choice. Ben is great to work with and I would recommend Millikan Farms to anyone!

I booked Millikan Farms for my August 2, 2015 wedding. Ben and his team were absolutely amazing and I couldn't have found a more picture perfect venue. The barn and the grounds were amazing and Ben couldn't have been better to work with. He was very flexible and I couldn't speak higher about him. He helped make my wedding day a day to remember for not only me, but for my guest as well.

I am honestly in love with this place. I've looked online at tons of venues, but when we went to visit this place yesterday I fell in love. Our guide was Laney, a close friend of the owner. She was wonderful, and took a few hours out of her evening to show us around and answer my myriad of questions. She was friendly with my family, and had tons of great recommendations for vendors in the area. The owner lives right across the street, which gives the place a homey vibe.

About the venue itself:
The loft is beautiful. The lights and white draping add a beautiful touch and provide a great base for personalization. We plan to have our ceremony in the loft, and the reception under the covered patio and the field. Parking is provided, which is great. Tables and chairs for up to 200 people are also provided.

They offer a friday/sunday price, a saturday price and a two day package. We will most likely be going with the weekend package, which is super exciting for us!

My advice: go see this place. It's a super affordable, and great venue that is super dedicated to catering to the individual. We cannot wait to see our dream wedding happen here.

Beautiful place to have a wedding! I will say it has air conditioning however if you have a wedding in the hot months ( I had mine in July) the air does not keep up and it was very hot inside.

Millikan farms did an awesome job! The day of our wedding they pitched in and helped us flip the top of the barn from the ceremony to the reception. We could not have made this happen without their helping hands!

Amazing and totally worth it!

We got married 10/24/20 at Millikan Farms and I can honestly say I regret nothing. We live in Charlotte but we were determined to have a wedding in the country and this place was perfect. Cynthia was great super helpful and dealt with all my annoying questions throughout the whole Covid process and planning a wedding around it. So if you’re wondering if you should do...wonder no more and JUST DO IT!

I thouroughly enjoyed having this venue for my wedding! The big red barn was a perfect backdrop for my wedding. Me and Ben had some communication issues which is why I marked him down. But the venue is great! Especially for the price!

Beautiful venue!

Milikan Farms is a beautiful venue. Very accommodating. 1 stop shop for a lovely event.
However, a lot left to be desired as a wedding coordinator.
Not up to date at all. Extremely rude and condescending to the bridal party. At the rehearsal, not the day of the wedding, a request was made for the parents to see their sons face, not the back of his head during the ceremony, she dropped her papers down and said, “we have to switch all the seats, “ in frustration. The bride and groom agreed to just switch themselves and the wedding party. Problem solved. But because of her need to hang on to the old, as each couple left in the front of the venue, instead on just allowing the ladies to be on the left arm of the men, she made them crossover in front of the men and put them on the right arm. ‘Men is the only time you’ll be on the right’ was her reason. It looked ridiculous.
Their were not enough tables saved for the wedding party. Okay to be fair, for the wedding party, sure, but not for their spouses(or plus one), and/or family. They wedding party was scattered all over the reception area.
Definitely, positively, absolutely use this venue!!! Wonderful rates, very helpful with filling your wishes for your decorating for your event.
B-E-A-tiful place and location. Just bring your own coordinator.

Do not choose here if you are people of color!

The venue is beautiful HOWEVER you are people of color you may want to find another venue! My baby girl, who is a NC Public Schools Teacher, struggled and sacrificed to have her wedding here. The lady that was at the venue got a serious attitude and changed the whole vibe of my daughters wedding reception so much so that basically everyone had left by 7 even though she had the venue until 10! And it wasn't a cheap place to rent! My daughter had paid for a DJ to be there until 10 and had planned to just enjoy her reception!! BUT NOOOO!! That hostess that was there had the vibe changed so bad!! We were doing a soul train line to a Beyonce song and they told us to cut off the music and we had to leave!! My daughter was basically devastated!! She didnt even get to toss her bouquet!! The owner came and his attitude was redneck white big man...my daughter ended her reception 2 hours early, ended up crying and that made everyone upset because to know my baby, you know she don't get upset like that but her wedding reception was ruined by a woman with a very bad attitude and an owner that sure knows how to RUIN a wedding!! THANKS MILLIKEN FARMS for showing just how racist some businesses can be!!!

A Bride's Nightmare

My wedding here was a complete disaster. This is lengthy but worth it!

This venue is breathtaking, so much that I hardly had to decorate.... I can not take that from them at all! However, weddings are about an overall experience and my experience was a nightmare. I have several points here so let's start:

1) Poor communication: My husband and I had 3 sit downs with the coordinator prior to our wedding. During these times we discussed license/insurances needed for catering and the bar. In addition, these conversations mainly discussed logistics, decor needs, and set up needs. HOWEVER, the one thing, THAT HAD US REMOVED from the facility wasn't discussed not one time. And that was music. Our music was too "vulgar" and contained the "F-Word" which was not allowed, although other degrading words were. The contracts state several rules which were all supposed to be discussed at our first meeting, but that rule in particular was never discussed and according to the owner that will be changed moving forward.

2) Disrespect: Several times we were screamed at, to the point their faces were red. Guest left due to the event coordinator sweeping over their feet while they were eating. Without our knowledge our DJ was approached and slandered for an issue we were unaware of. When we were made aware, we were sure to talk to him and he was very diligent in making changes. Our final song,the one that got us removed that is, was Part II (On The Run) By Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z. The husband of the coordinator was the one who shut it all down, my husband tried so hard to talk to this man respectfully but not once would he look him in the eyes.

3) Nit-picking: All though there were complaints from staff all day about my party and my guests, the one that takes the cake is the complainant about decor flying off the tables.... There was a literal wind advisory on my wedding day. If there is a way for me to control the wind, please point me in the direction of the person I need to talk to about that because I'm quite confident it is beyond my power.

4) Bribes: My dad was tricked into paying an insurance fee after I told the coordinator that I had it! What really took this a step further was the discussion we had with the owner. The day after my wedding we had a phone call with him and he apologized and said he would refund us our last two hours. We met with him that following Wednesday, he hands us the money he promised and then asked that "we make him a deal". This "deal" was that we "take down the bad reviews" in exchange for a full refund. I proudly declined because not only is this unethical, but him and his team completely RUINED my wedding day. A once in a lifetime opportunity. A moment I could NEVER get back! Hear me when I say, I would have paid DOUBLE what I paid this venue to not have gone through what we went through.

I still feel as if I'm at a loss for words, I can't believe this really happened. I've attend 2 weddings at this place prior to mine (different demographics than mine) and not once did they have an issue which was really why we booked here to begin with. Repeatedly we've been blamed for the coordinator being scared to leave her house. This is the same lady who had a truckload of men pull up on my people when we were asked to leave.... That's fear! Fear is also when you're a person of color and the cops have been called on you for a situation in which you've done no wrong. 4 county sheriffs to be precise. I legit left my wedding in tears; and not those of joy but of rage, sadness and disbelief.

Let me start off by saying the venue was beautiful but that’s where I stop with the compliments. If you are a person of color or plan to have people of color attend your event then you may want to rethink booking this venue. Two of my friends I’ve known for years were married here recently and the reception was ruined by the venue coordinator. First, it started with her rushing us out of the rehearsal a few days before the event. Second, as the reception was going on the venue coordinator began to clean up and rudely sweep around guest feet as they were enjoying the event. When she begin doing this that changed the entire vibe of the reception guest begin to leave because it appeared that were were being kicked out or asked to leave even though it was only 8pm and they had the venue until 10pm. Third, they cut the event short because they said our music was too vulgar but the song that was playing wasn’t vulgar at all. They forced us to end the reception early even though we had paid to be there for a few more hours so we didn’t get to do any of the traditional things you do at the reception (speeches, bouquet and garter toss, etc)

The Bride was devastated and brought to tears from how they were treated. As expected the Groom was very upset as well it was supposed to be the happiest day and an exciting occasion but it was ruined by the Venue Coordinator. I just felt it was genuinely a race issue do to the fact they could not give any valid explanation on the reasons we were asked to leave.

The reception was beautiful the party planning was amazing but the service was HORRIFIC our party was treated very poorly.

Beautiful Place, Bad Service

I attended a wedding as a bridesmaid and this venue was really nice but it was a bad experience. The coordinator kept sweating the bartender, she was sweeping around people, and when I asked her questions she was nice but she seemed very agitated. Towards the end of the wedding we were forced to leave because of our music choice, and the cops were at the end of the street when we didn’t even cause any drama.

RUINED Sisters Wedding

My sisters wedding was RUINED by the venue coordinator and it was extremely evident they didn't want us there. They had been looking for excuses all day to get us out the venue. We were asked to leave after doing the soul train line to a Beyoncé song. My poor sister spent SO MUCH money on this wedding for it to be shortened by two hours, not even getting the chance to do the bouquet or garter toss. There is definitely a certain demographic they like there and it wasn't ours...a sad but true reality!
