Miki and Sonja were a dream to work with. From the very beginning, they brought a sense of calm and professionalism that made everything feel effortless. Their pleasant demeanor was just the icing on the cake. What truly stood out were the timelessness of our photos. -

Miki and Sonja were so wonderful to work with. They really put me and my wife at ease at both our engagement shoot and during our wedding. We unknowingly chose a super tourist-heavy/busy area for our engagement shoot and brought our very hyper puppy to be included in the photos and they somehow managed to get us some beautiful photos of our little family! Our wedding day was very busy and we booked some extra time for photos and we do not regret that one bit. Miki and Sonja captured all of our beautiful moments and worked very well as a team. They edited the pictures beautifully and even provided us with all the raw photos (literally several thousand!) within a month of the wedding! -

My husband and I learned about Miki and Sonja through our reception venue preferred vendor list. They were the first photographers we hired, and needless to say we had an instant connection with them. They have over 20 years of experience, and we loved their dynamic as they worked together. They were also very responsive to emails, so it felt reassuring to communicate with them.
We felt immediately comfortable around Miki and Sonja when we first met them in person for our engagement photo shoot. That was one of our favorite days of our engagement. They completely understood our vision and found an AMAZING location for the photo shoot that exceeded our expectations. It was even better than the vision.
On our wedding day, I barely noticed their presence. They had tons of amazing shots without taking away from the moment. They also did not interfere with each other's photos nor the videographer (who we hired from a different company).
I have nothing but positive things to say about Miki and Sonja. They are not only professional, but approachable and easy to work with. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! -

Miki and Sonja are a perfect photography pair: quick witted, knowledgeable and easy-going (which you REALLY want on your stressful big day!). Professional but with a friendly rapport, they give instruction that is easily understandable and will make you look like royalty in the photos. We were inundated with compliments after the engagement shoot (it was AMAZING) and so we had complete confidence in Miki & Sonja to capture everything beautifully when our wedding day arrived. We cannot say enough good things about these two--HIRE THEM NOW!! -

Simply Amazing!
This August, my wife and I had a small wedding ceremony and Miki Sonja Photography provided our photos. In a single word, amazing.
My wife and I have always wanted professional photographs, but had never gotten them taken. Our ceremony was the perfect opportunity for us to have the photos of our dreams taken, and we weren’t disappointed.
Miki and Sonja were extremely professional capturing our beautiful day. They were professional and courteous, and were able to find the most amazing backdrops to produce the most incredible photos we could have imagined.
We received our photos shortly after our ceremony, and were absolutely amazed at the quality; truly professional.
I would highly recommend Miki Sonja Photography, and my wife and I now have the professional photos of our dreams!

This review is based on my experience with Sonja and not the actual photos. How bummed I am that we won’t actually get to have our wedding captured by these two, their work is beautiful and I become jelly every time I see their Social media updates. We unfortunately had to cancel our wedding after the third attempt and regroup for a small Kansas wedding. HOWEVER, Sonja was amazing from our very first phone call and incredibly flexible as we rescheduled again and again during this crisis. We were not able to recoup the majority of our deposits from vendors however, Miki and Sonja were kind enough to offer the deposit as a credit for the future. I highly recommend these two, you won’t regret it. -

The best wedding photographers!
Miki and Sonja are an amazing team who photographed our wedding at the Resort at Pelican Hill. From our initial inquiry to our wedding day, the whole experience was super easy and enjoyable! At our first meeting we realized we had friends who had their wedding shot by them and without hesitation knew there going to be the perfect fit! It was evident they had many years of experience which turned out to be super helpful as the entire day ended up being coordinated to perfection and we were able to get all shots requested. We had such a fun time shooting from the individual portraits to working with our families to capture everything efficiently and allowing everyone to enjoy the wedding. The photos turned out perfect and it was because they went above and beyond for each and every shot. We have recommended them to friends, family, and coworkers and won’t stop! They were both an absolute pleasure to work with and we look forward to our next event together! -

We just got married last week – and we’re sooo happy we went with Sonja and Miki to do our wedding photography. They were so nice and so good and what they do, we can’t imagine working with anyone else.
Sonja and Miki met with us months before the wedding to discuss the details of the big day. They really took a lot of time to understand our vision and our family dynamics to help us build out our list of target photos. They were also experienced at doing shoots at our venue – Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes – so they were able to help us plan the entire shoot so that we took all the best shots in all the best locations at the perfect time given lighting conditions.
On wedding day they were organized and ready to roll. You could tell they really took an interest in us, and the event, and that they were pumped up to do a great job. And they did an excellent, excellent job capturing everything. Getting ready, first look, the bridal party, the families, the ceremony, etc. They got it all. And they didn't mind getting their shoes dirty to get some incredible shots. They literally went all out and we loved every minute of it.
Among all of our wedding vendors, Sonja and Miki really stood out as being top-notch, real professionals, worth every penny and more. They get our highest endorsement.
Thank you Sonja and Miki for making our big day PERFECT!!! -

The most magazine worthy wedding photographs EVER! :)
The big day goes by so fast. It's such a whirlwind. I'm so thankful I had Miki and Sonja. I'm terrible at taking photos and they made me look absolutely stunning. They caught the perfect lighting. Angled me just right so I wasn't squinting, took some amazing sunset photos and they were SO SO SO efficient with their timing. I didn't want to spend my wedding taking photos all day. I made that clear when I spoke with them and they accommodated above and beyond to make that happen for me. They were never in the way and yet they always caught the best moments. You would be lucky to have these two at your wedding, I know I was. They play so well off of each other and are so fun and incredibly professional. -

Zara Sent on 10/12/2018MIki and Sonja photographed my wedding this summer at the Adamson House in Malibu and my husband and I (plus our friends, family and other vendors) could not be happier with the way the photos turned out!! They are absolutely perfect in every way. Miki and Sonja captured every little moment, interaction, and facial expression beautifully - with gorgeous framing, lighting and everything - so that we've been able to relive our special day and even see moments between our guests that we missed the day of! I can't wait to get tons of photos & phonebooks printed for myself and everyone else as holiday gifts. On top of the beautiful photos, Miki and Sonja were a pleasure to work with. They put us all at ease right away and gave helpful cues for flattering and natural-looking photos. My dad is a photography enthusiast and they even chatted with him about their cameras and let him take a few photos himself! We are all so grateful that we chose them and can't wait to work with them for future events! -

Simply the Best
Sonja and Miki are really wonderful! They are so talented, easy to work with, and professional and made the entire process seamless. We are somewhat shy about being being photographed, but Sonja and Miki made the process so fun and easy. The final product is outstanding, and our entire family loves the photos. Cannot say enough wonderful things about them, and I recommend them wholeheartedly! -

Lovely to work with!!
I adored working with Miki & Sonja photography! They were extremely professional and a joy to be around on our big day! I really appreciated how organized they were leading up to the wedding, all of my vendors loved working with them! They really did their due diligence in learning exactly what my husband and I wanted, we were so thrilled with our pictures!
Our wedding was in Palm Springs, CA. We did a big Greek wedding at the church and then pictures outside and inside for the reception! We had a lot of logistical moving parts on the day of the wedding. The bride and groom got ready in who different locations 30 minutes away and the church was an additional 25 minutes away from the bride and groom....to top it all off the reception was even more travel!!! I mention this because Miki and Sonja were FANTASTIC at assisting with coordination of the timeline....exactly where to be and when (also took daylight into consideration!) these were details as a bride I didn’t want to worry about, and thankfully they had it covered!!!

John Sent on 01/31/2018We have been so impressed with the fabulous collection of wedding photos Miki and Sonja have sent us. I have hired many professional photographers in my career as an ad agency art director, and in my opinion the body of work they produced is top-notch. We love the depth of field with the focus on certain areas, the rich colors, and the variety of angles. The coverage the team provided was terrific - they work well together.
We were hopeful that details were covered, like the garden altar, unity candles, details of the flowers and chairs, guests arriving, the ceremony participants and we saw what we were looking for. Then the cocktail hour, again the guest shots, our family remembrance table, the first dance, the dining room, place settings. the dancing, and again more people shots. My wife was especially pleased because Miki and Sonja caught many of the details she worked so hard to get.
The photo proof book presentation is top notch and I'm sure we will review it for years to come. The USB drive is also a very handy tool. -

I am writing this review wayyyy too late (a little over 2 years after my wedding) and it has been eating me away inside because I am in awe of my gorgeous wedding photos and need to give Miki & Sonja all the praise they deserve. Their photos are absolutely beautiful and I find myself constantly looking at them to bask in that perfect day over and over again.
As a wedding planner myself, I knew I needed a photographer that could be flexible with all my crazy ideas. Miki and Sonja are the absolute sweetest and were game for everything. When I ran a bit behind schedule on the day getting ready, they were on it and got through all the family photos as quickly and seamlessly as possible while still getting some glorious glamour shots of myself as we were hustling to get it all done. My husband isn’t the most comfortable in front of the camera and hates taking posed photos, Miki and Sonja made it quick and seamless for him. Miki had an amazing idea during our romantic photos to pose like The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan album cover, it made my husband instantly relax and get into the idea of capturing this photo and we had so much fun doing so!
One thing that was super important to me besides the style and quality of the photos was I wanted someone who was great at capturing candids. The candids are some of my favorite photos of the day, especially during the reception when I cut off my hair and came back out in a sequin jumpsuit. They captured the best reactions and some of them still make me laugh and smile.
Miki and Sonja are the utmost professionals and truly truly talented. They went along with my crazy vision and ideas, captured my day perfectly and I will be forever grateful to them. 10/10 recommend forever and ever. -

Laura Sent on 07/25/2017We wer so honored to have the sweetest, most talented photographers shoot our wedding - even in the intense heat they never were without a smile always guiding us kindly and with humor (trust me you need humor with all that posing!!!) on the most flattering poses that would give us the best light and photo.
We interviewed a lot of photographers, and we were most impressed with their ability to work so well with digital and film photography, day of it was amazing watching them switch back and forth never losing time or energy waiting on memory cards or film. They work really well together and make you feel in great hands. I would give them 10/5 stars if I could. You won't be disappointed! THANK YOU SO MUCH MIKI AND SONJA FOR MAKING OUR WEDDING DREAMS COME TRUE! xo L & W
