I am not a bride, but instead a makeup artist who has had the pleasure of working alongside Charisse while she was in Ithaca, New York. During my time assisting Charisse I was consistently blown away by her professionalism, talent, and expertise in all things skin. I was so pleased with the the makeup services that Miel Beauty provided for my wedding day. I'm never one to wear much make-up and Charisse's ability to enhance my natural features without making me feel "overdone" was so appreciated. I felt like the best version of myself. She did the same for my entire wedding party, who all had different skin and hair tones. Her calm presence would be such a gift to any bride on their big day. I would recommend her without a moment's hesitation!

Miel Beauty Bar is one of the few hair and make up teams that will travel to your house to get you and your girls ready for the big day. I loved this since it allowed my bridesmaids, mom and I all to relax in the comfort of my home while we got ready. Ashley (make up) and Whitney (hair) were fast, accommodating and flexible. They were patient while minds changed and they were incredibly friendly. They also do a trial at the salon for the bride, which i loved!

So far, I have only had my makeup and hair trial by Whitney and Ashley and let me just say, they are both incredible and it leaves me little fear going toward my wedding day. Both of them listen to what you want but also are willing to offer advice if you ask them but I felt like both of them knew what I wanted without me even saying a word. I also got assistance in all the pre-wedding services I inquired about: facials, waxing, spray tanning etc. and we created a timeline. I also had the pleasure of getting my eyebrows filled by Charisse while I waited for Ashley before my appointment. I consider myself to have very high expectations and this place is professional, welcoming, and make you look and feel beautiful.

Charisse and Amelia did such a wonderful job on hair and makeup for my bridal party and I! They were extremely responsive and easy to work with, which was really important to me planning a wedding from out of town. One of my biggest worries during wedding planning was how my hair and makeup would turn out (especially after I had a bad trial with another salon), but as soon as I met them at my trial any anxiety went away and I knew they would do a terrific job.

On the day of the wedding, they arrived early and finished with all of the girls ahead of schedule and everyone was thrilled with how their hair/makeup turned out! My hair doesn't hold a curl very well and I was worried about how my half up/half down style would stand up to August weather, but Amelia did a fantastic job and it looked great all night! My makeup turned out very natural, but also beautiful in photos! I couldn't recommend Charisse or Amelia more!!

Miel Beauty Bar was absolutely fantastic for my wedding! I did a full body spray tan (trial and for the wedding) and makeup too. For the make up, I did two trials and was able to pick my favorite. All in all, they are amazing! Highly recommended.

Charisse and Yvette and their team at Miel are AMAZING. I’ve use their services for spray tans, facials, waxing and make up. Every experience was top notch in service and skill.

My number one worry about my wedding day was having a “bad skin” day. I’d been to several derms in the area and they made my skin worse. I started seeing Charisse about 5 months before my wedding day. She figured out my issue, recommended products/treatments (without ever being pushy) that got my skin glowing way before the big day arrived.

During my hair and make-up test run, Charisse could tell I was not happy with my hair. She offered to find a new stylist and do a second test run. I was confident the stylist would figure it out day of (she did and I loved how my hair looked), but I appreciated the offer.

Ashley was my make-up artist. My make-up looked exactly how I imagined and stayed put the entire evening. My mother was worried about looking too “done up” and not “age appropriate.” Ashley did a perfect job and my super picky mom was very happy.

The customer service is second to none. I did not have a whole team of bridesmaids who needed hair and make-up (just me and my mom). They never ever made me feel like my wedding wasn’t a top priority. I got a huge zit on my chin the week of my wedding and emailed my “glam squad” for emergency treatment. They fit me the next day.

If you are getting married in the Finger Lakes, there is no one else in the area who is as knowledgeable and skilled on current make-up/hair trends and skin products/treatments. Book Miel Beauty as soon as you know your wedding date! Their wedding season calendar fills up fast because they are the BEST!

I got a spray tan for my wedding and it was just perfect. I'm fair-skinned but wanted a nice glow for my white dress. Charisse listened and gave me exactly the tan I wanted. She's very nice and easy-going, and ensured that the whole process was comfortable. My sister also got a spray tan by Charisse, and was equally pleased. Highly recommended.

Charisse was wonderful! Every member of the bridal party felt beautiful and no one felt like they looked like they were "going to prom," (overdone, too much, unsophisticated etc.) she got everyone done in a timely fashion and our make up lasted through the hot ceremony, pictures and well into the night. Charisse is amazing!! My makeup looked incredible and it didn't move throughout the entire day where it rained and everything was very wet and humid. She also covered two tattoos on my back with her airbrush machine. My dress was open in the back and I did not want them to be seen. What she did was almost unbelievable. If you didn't know I had tattoos on my back, you would not have found out that day. Charisse is a beautiful make up artist and she's personable and very accommodating and easy to work with. She went above and beyond for me and I am sure she treats all her clients that way! I will recommend her over and over again!

Charisse and Whitney are fabulous ... I found them through wedding wire because I live in Boston but was getting married back home in watkins Glen. I only was able to do one trial run because I couldn't travel home very often begore my big day. The trial went very well and the day of our wedding, they made me look and feel so beautiful. I was so happy with the result on my wedding day... Everyone kept commenting how pretty my makeup and hair was done. To me, it was so important to look my best and they both helped me do so. They were excellent and offered to come to hotel to get us all ready. I can't say enough what a great team they are. I feel so very lucky that they could help me and my wedding party look so beautiful.

Charisse and Amelia did an amazing job on hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids! Throughout the whole planning process, they were easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. At my hair and makeup trial, they were able to look at a few of my inspiration pictures and create a unique, but natural look that was exactly what I wanted. On the day of the wedding, they came to our hotel to help me and my girls get ready, which made things so much easier for us as we had all traveled from out of town. They were fun and professional and made all of us look gorgeous - and everyone's hair and makeup looked just as great at the end of the night as it did before the ceremony! I could not have asked for better hair and makeup artists.

The absolute best! Look no further really! Charisse is so attentive to every detail. She made everyone look amazing and she completely listens to what you would like and follows through exactly. We were only in the area for the wedding so unfortunately I can't use Miel regularly but I would never look any further if I did. From the initial contact, through my trial, and on my wedding day, Charisse and Amelia were very professional and personable, and they both provided me with beautiful results. Charisse is absolutely wonderful and professional! She showed up early and stayed after to ensure we all had our last minute touch-ups! She convinced me to get fake eyelashes and I am SO glad she did...they help your eyes pop in the pictures and you cannot even tell you are wearing them! She also provided spray tans for a few of my bridesmaids and they looked so real...not orange at all! Having Charisse do make-up for my wedding was one of the best parts of the entire event. Charisse did my make-up as well as my mother, the mother of my groom and a bridesmaid. Whitney did my updo and my six bridesmaids. They were not only incredibly responsive, professional and AMAZING at what they do-but they are FUN and the biggest sweethearts you will ever meet! We each brought in photos of our desired look and they made us look exactly how we envisioned in such a short time frame . Whitney worked her magic so quickly and provided us with updos that were flawless and lasted all night without any touch ups necessary. And Charisse made me look incredible! she knew exactly what to do in order to make my features pop in pictures. Several guests came to me and told me how amazing my hair and make up were. I felt SO beautiful on my wedding day-and thats exactly how a bride should feel.

Both women were very approachable and listened to what each of us wanted. They both showed up on time and really managed their time well. They made the morning so easy and stress free. I am recommending all brides I know in the Ithaca area to reach out to them. Thank you ladies -you were such assets on my Big Day!

We hired Miel Beauty for my wedding and had a wonderful experience, from our first meeting to our last. Charisse, Amelia and Ashley were so responsive, and did a fantastic job of helping me brainstorm my look and pick out the best hairstyles and makeup. I searched high and low for a makeup artist for my Seneca Lake wedding, I feel so fortunate to have found Charisse and in turn, hairstylist Amelia. Charisse was so responsive to all of my questions and e-mails. I met them both for the first time at my trial run and they did a fantastic job! I felt so confident in their skills and that they would make me a beautiful bride! On the day of my wedding, Charisse, Charisse's assistant Ashley and Amelia traveled to our Bed & Breakfast to do my hair/makeup, one junior bridesmaids hair, four bridesmaids hair/makeup, and my mom's makeup. All I can say is - WOW! They worked so quickly that we had time to spare and relax! Everyone looked so beautiful! The hair was fitting for each lady and the makeup looked very natural! The team from Miel Beauty was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I had a great experience with Charisse at my make-up trial so I knew she would be the perfect choice for my wedding. One of the best things I noticed while we were getting ready is that Charisse and her assistant asked each and every one of my bridesmaids to go look in a mirror and let them know if there was anything they wanted to change. A few had minor suggestions (i.e. more eyeliner) and they quickly made those changes until all the bridesmaids were totally happy with their make-up. They did a great job on 4 bridesmaids and my mom/mother of the groom - everyone looked like a glamorous version of themselves - not overly done-up and fake. And they were quick...we actually had time to relax before pictures! Not to mention it was very affordable. I highly recommend Miel Beauty.

Miel beauty did an absolutely amazing job on my bridal makeup, my bridesmaids' makeup, and the MOB makeup. Everyone looked gorgeous, but not overdone, and Charisse gave us all exactly the looks we wanted. The wedding day was very warm and humid, but my makeup stayed flawless all night and never looked cakey or oily. Charisse was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with, and you won't find another makeup artist that is a better value!!

In one word, Charisse Koba, the owner of Miel Beauty, was exceptional. Beyond making me look gorgeous on my wedding day (which was a feat in itself, really!), the whole process in working with her was a joy. Not only did she do the makeup for me (the bride) and my 7 bridesmaids the day of our wedding by herself, she also was flexible in doing spray tans for some of us a few days before the wedding. Rather than having our hair and makeup done at a salon, she came to us the morning of the wedding which made it so much more convenient and less stressful. Beyond her beautiful makeup application, she calmed my nerves that morning, and reapplied my makeup again once I started crying!! Charisse really made me felt more beautiful than I've ever been before. Her prices are beyond reasonable and the service was outstanding. Using Charisse and Miel Beauty is your best decision when it comes to wedding makeup!!

Charisse and Amelia were phenomenal parts to my wedding day! They were extremely easy to schedule trials and day-of services with, and very professional but not at all stuffy while working their magic on the bridal party. Together they did the hair and makeup for me and three members of my bridal party, including my mother. I had a few ideas about what I wanted for hair and makeup, but Amelia did simply amazing work on my hair based off of just one picture!! I was also impressed that they worked so quickly and only needed about 30 min per girl for each service. Charisse's makeup was lovely, and she carefully considered my dress, earrings, and theme when picking her palate. Charisse will consult with you about your makeup preferences and any allergies. The makeup stayed on despite a lot of happy tears, picture outside in the elements, and energetic dancing! Charisse also did a great job with my mother, who has mature skin and different makeup needs. My mother ended up liking Amelia so much that she is going to become her regular client!

I initially picked Charisse and Amelia based off of Wedding Wire reviews and was a bit nervous because their price was so reasonable - could their service actually be good? Please take my advice and book them today for your event, because they produce top of the industry work at prices that won't break your budget!

Charisse was an absolute joy to work with in preparation for our wedding. If first impressions are everything, I noticed immediately how radiant she was and wanted to learn all her secrets! Living in Philadelphia, most of our initial communication was over the phone, and I always received an immediate call back and she was always excited to chat and get to know what I liked and didn't like.

During my trial, she helped me figure out how to better care for my skin and gave me so many helpful tips that I have since adopted. I knew from the moment I met her that I was in great hands.

Then came the wedding and she gave me the most natural airbrush tan as well a beautiful natural makeup look that everyone commented on. I felt healthy and gorgeous all day because of everything she helped me with!

She is such a delight and put everyone at ease with her infectious laugh and kind spirit. It was so fun getting to know her and if I ever move closer to Ithaca, I'm calling her first to grab a glass of wine and chat! Thank you Charisse, I adore you!

Charisse did make-up for me and my bridal party and it was truly a pleasure to work with her. She is very flexible and will work with you to meet any and all of your needs. Scheduling a trial was a breeze and she came to my wedding venue which was super helpful. She is an extremely talented aesthetician who was able to translate my vague descriptions such as "I want to look glowy and dewy but not too overdone" into exactly how I wanted to look on my wedding day. I've never felt so beautiful. And besides all that she is so friendly easy to get along with, it felt like she was just one of my girlfriends helping me on my big day.

Charisse and Amelia were a dynamite duo on my wedding day. Not only did they make me and the women in my party feel and look beautiful, but they were timely, efficient, and SO MUCH FUN to be around! We had a great time just talking while they did our hair and make-up. They are HANDS DOWN the best deal in the area for hair and make-up. The quality of their work is superb, but they are very reasonably priced. Being on a tight budget meant that I was careful with my vendor selections--I couldn't have been happier with Charisse and Amelia. Charisse went out and hand picked my lip color and brought me my own lipstick for touch ups throughout the day (she even made sure one of my BMs was in charge of it for me!). Whitney was fast and did EXACTLY what the girls wanted with their hair. ALL of my Bridesmaids raved about their hair and make-up. It's too bad I live in Washington, DC, or I'd be banging on their door to do my face/hair up for everything! I would not hesitate to recommend Charisse and Amelia for any event!

Charisse made every single women feel beautiful on my daughter's wedding day. She was flexible, added in the brdie's grandmother at the very last minute. My daughter commented to me that she was so calm walking down the aisle because she felt so beautiful.

Charisse did my makeup for my wedding and she was fantastic! She suggested lip color during my trial and purchased a lipstick and gloss for me the day of my wedding. I was so happy she did because I certainly didn’t remember to! The products and brushes she uses are great and she is very friendly and knowledgeable. My makeup looked very natural , yet stayed-put until 3am!

I was lucky to have had the opportunity to have Miel beauty do my and my bridal party's make-up. I was unable to do a trial because I was an out of state bride, but felt more than comfortable with her to go ahead and do our make-up the day of the wedding. Her flexibilty also helps calm any pre-wedding stress by traveling to your location so you dont have to rush from a salon to get back in time to get dressed. She also recommended a hair stylist to do our hair, who was also great and did exactlay what I envisioned. Miel Beauty's professionalism, experience, and service made us all feel comfortable and most importantly, beautiful on my wedding day!

Mielbeauty is the best makeup and mobile spray tanning service in Ithaca and surrounding areas. They are professional, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. I hired Charisse to do my makeup, as well as my bridal party's, for my wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. I am very particular about how I like my makeup done, and was nervous that I would look overly made-up in my pictures. Charisse took the time to really listen to what I wanted, and the end result was perfect. I still get compliments on my makeup when when people look at my wedding photos. She was a joy to work with. She was punctual, got me and all the girls done on time and stayed while the photographer took the pre-wedding shots to assure I was pleased with how I looked in the pictures. I've since referred their services to many friends who have raved about the professionalism and quality of their work. I have also used the mobile spray tanning service on multiple occasions and the only downfall is how addicting it is! The convenience of the service paired with how natural and beautiful my tan looks have made this a staple in my beauty routine! Charise did a wonderful job! I've never had my make up done before so I was a little nervous, but we did a trial and she was always very quick to respond through email to any of my questions. She did a wonderful job, arrived early the day of and was so sweet. My make up lasted all night and looked wonderful in my pictures!

Charisse at Mielbeauty did my spray tan and make-up for my July 2011 wedding. She also did the make-up for all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my fiance's mom on the morning of the wedding. Throughout the planning process, Charisse was very quick at responding to my inquires and was very flexible with scheduling my make-up and spray tan trials. Charisse is an amazing makeup artist - I have worked in the cosmetics industry for years, and have always been fussy about the makeup that I have done by others (usually means going home to wash off what was done by the artist). This concern definitely applied to wedding makeup, as we've all seen the caked on look, as well as my general concerns being an Asian American woman, with different features than the standard American face. Charisse worked with me at my trial and listened to the look I was hoping to create, played around with the colors until it was just right. We tweaked a little here and there, but got exactly what I had wanted with the first attempt! She is relaxed, listens to what you want, and loves what she does which instantly puts you at ease. She also uses amazing products that feel lightweight, not cakey - I can't tell you how many guests at the wedding complimented me on how great my skin looked! I would recommend Charisse to my closest friends and family, which means I'd recommend her to any bride/woman who wants to look amazing on her special day. Case in point, my friend getting married next year asked Charisse if she is available to travel to Long Island!

Charisse is an absolute pleasure to work with! She came to my house to spray tan me and my girlfriends before my bachelorette party and it was so easy and convenient, plus we all looked great for the trip to the beach. Charisse also did my wedding makeup, as well as my mom's makeup and my entire wedding party. It was a blast to work with Charisse, she had great ideas and knew what looked best on everyone. I had Ashley for makeup and I booked my hair through them as well with Whitney (Haute House salon next door). They both arrived early to set up and had arranged plenty of time to get all the girls ready. Everyone looked fantastic! I didn't even have a chance to do a trial but everything turned out amazing! Charisse was very responsive during the makeup trial and during the wedding day when she did makeup (and her colleague did hair) for me, two bridesmaids, a ring bearer, flower girl, and mother. The makeup trial was absolutely necessary, since it gave me a chance to really refine what I wanted, and Charisse went along with it (i.e. less makeup, no foundation, etc.). She has an idea about how to make you look good for cameras, and as long as you know what you want and come to a compromise between looking photo-ready and looking like yourself, she is absolutely fantastic.

It was really great to work with Charisse and her crew. They were very accommodating even with last minute changes in our numbers. Everyone's hair and makeup looked absolutely beautiful. The only problem I had was that by dinner, my hair did begin to fall out of its updo a little. This was most likely due to the heavy hair comb I had in, but it would have been nice if it were a little more secure.

Charisse came highly recommended as the makeup artist for my wedding outside of Ithaca, NY in October. I was so impressed by my trial (before my engagement photos), spray tan (it was the perfect color and didn't flake off and I got it done the Wednesday prior to my wedding), and makeup the day of! Charisse and her assistant quickly and efficiently finished 11 full face makeups for myself, MOB, MOG, 7 bridesmaids, and Jr Bridesmaids! They were personable, hilarious, and kept everyone moving but comfortable the whole day. I can't say enough good things about Charisse!

Charisse did an absolutely fabulous job at my wedding! She and an assistant, Ashley, did the make-up for myself, 6 bridesmaids and 3 mothers. I worked with Miel Beauty and their hairstylist Amelia for my June 7th wedding. I unfortunately did not have the chance to meet Charisse due to her accidentally double booking me with another bride, however the makeup services my girls and I received from her assistant Ashley were nothing short of amazing. Ashley did my trial and was very easy to work with (and hang out with!) both leading up to and on my wedding day. I typically don't wear a lot of makeup and did not want to look super done-up on my wedding day. Ashley was able to make me feel gorgeous and get 9 ladies all done up perfectly in only a few hours. Nobody felt rushed or forced into a makeup style they didn't feel comfortable with.

Amelia was also also super awesome. I was a little worried after my trial that I had not been assertive enough in what I wanted to do with my hair, but Amelia did my hair beautifully and exactly how I had envisioned. She also did great work on my bridesmaids, who ranged across the full spectrum of possible wedding hairstyles. Everyone was really pleased with how their hair came out and we received many compliments from other guests throughout the night.

If you are considering Miel, just make sure you get full, signed confirmation that they are available for your wedding date. Though everything worked out in the end, that was a stressful element that could have easily been prevented!

Charisse is a true professional! I hired Miel Beauty for make up services for my wedding. Also, I had a spray tan for the wedding which Charisse applied a few days before. The tan turned out perfectly golden, exactly the tone I wanted to match the occasion. On the day of my wedding Charisse and her assistant worked on myself and my bridesmaids and the result was exceptional. Our skin was properly prepped and each person was given enough time and attention. My own makeup was exactly what I wanted! It lasted the whole day and felt wonderful on my skin. Charisse is easy to work with and very responsive which was important given that I was planning my wedding from another state and we corresponded mostly by email before the big day. Can't say enough good things!

I worked with Charisse and Whitney for hair and makeup for me and all my bridesmaids - they were fantastic. We were kind of annoying, in that my bridesmaids changed their mind on the day of and wanted hair and makeup (instead of just hair or makeup), and they were both able to make everyone look incredible and happy within our time limits. I didn't even do a trial for hair or makeup, but everything turned out great on my wedding day, which was a big ask! We were a big group, so we had to rent out the salon, but it was nice to have the run of the place. We had a few issues with this vendor but she did a pretty good job; the make up artist (aesthetician) Charisse Koba is very nice, friendly and knowledgable. The make up, however, did not last long and we did not have a touch up base. It did last through most of the photos so that was awesome. The look was exactly what I wanted and I think she did an amazing job with the wedding party.
She also lost our cheque which sent us running to the bank during our honeymoon - the only real reason we lowered her rating.

The girls are really talented from hair to makeup, but I think the hair stylists came too early. Some of my bridesmaids hair was starting to come undone before the ceremony even started. My hair and my mom's hair was perfect! Charlotte did our makeup and everyone looked even more beautiful!
