In Awe! My Geode Cake was Better than I Could Ever Imagine!!

Anita and her team really outdid themselves from the very beginning. We met Anita at the wedding fair in Jan/Feb 2019 and right away after trying some samples, we knew we needed to book her as our cake artist! We set up a consult to try some flavors at her shop so easily, and after picking our two wonderful flavors, we designed the most extravagant geode cake one could ever imagine! She was so welcoming to all ideas and gave us her professional advice on others. Both my husband and I being "rock nerds" thought an elegant blue geode cake was what we wanted. This was her first and wow, I shed a tear when I saw it. So much that I did not want to even eat it! It was stunning and I was beyond excited to eat the top for our anniversary. We also bought the Special cupcake of the Month (Raspberry Lemonade) and we received so many compliments on it all! Thank you Anita, you are a dream come true!!

Anita made, delivered, and decorated our wedding cake and cupcakes. Everything was beautiful and delicious! We had tons of guests telling us how yummy the cupcakes were. Anita was so fun and easy to work with! We highly recommend Midnight Sun Cakery and will definitely order again in the future!

Anita makes delicious cakes that are out of this world and have an amazing talent with her artistic skills! She was extremely flexible when we changed our topper for our cake. She was fun to talk with and when you do the cake tasting, IT'S GOING TO BE HARD TO DECIDE ON WHAT FLAVORS YOU WANT!!!!! So, we decided on four flavors :D
mango, raspberry, almond joy and red velvet....

Wow! If you are not a cake connoisseur you will be! The light fluffiness of the cake and subtle sweetness was to die for! We had a half naked cake for those who liked frosting and those who didn’t. This was a match that made our dream cake amazing!

Not only did i love my cake and how it tasted/looked, but the whole experience and customer service was great. I scheduled a sampling and was so impressed with all of the different options presented to me, and the day of the wedding it was delicious and definitely met any expectation. Would recommend them to anyone needing a wedding cake! (or any cake really).

Anita is the greatest baker on earth. She did both my rehearsal dinner and wedding cake - both were stunningly beautiful and delicious!! I cannot rave about her service and baking enough, I will most definitely be using her for every event (big or small) in the future. I look for reasons to order to cake! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Anita is amazing! I have enjoyed her cakes at several events, including my wedding, and her cakes are always delicious! She brought our ideas for the cake to life, and she is a pleasure to work with. If you need any kind of cake, see Anita. I have worked with her for birthday cakes, and a close friend also went to her for her wedding cake/cupcakes. Her flavors are all amazing, and she is an artist with icing!

Anita is the best!! From our very first meeting with her when we sampled all of the delicious flavors, to the final meeting to go over last minute details, Anita really made us feel welcome and at ease knowing that she would deliver the most amazing cake! On our wedding day, she exceeded all of our expectations. The cake was so beautiful and truly delicious! Everyone loved it and has raved about it. About 6 months prior to our June 2016 wedding, my mom and I met with Anita at Midnight Sun Cakery for a cake tasting consultation. Not only was our meeting with Anita very professional and a lot of fun but we also both left the meeting talking about how it was the BEST cake we had ever had! The consistency was perfection. We got a 4 tier cake (each tier a different flavor) and an extra sheet cake to ensure we had more pieces of cake than guests and there was not a single piece of cake left over! All our guests raved about how delicious it was. Aside from the cake tasting phenomenal, it was also impressive in its presentation - very pretty! I definitely recommend Midnight Sun Cakery to anyone looking for a tasty and beautiful cake for any type of event. I know my wedding will not be the last time I indulge in that goodness! Big thanks to the team at Midnight Sun Cakery!

Anita's cakes are delicious! And because we were about 200 miles out of town for our wedding, Anita was very accommodating about a third party picking up the cake and delivering it, where our wedding planner set it up on-site to save the fee. It arrived with no issues and assembled easily. Our consultation and tastings were wonderful and her cakes are so, so good! Highly recommend for wedding cakes and any other special occasion cake you may need! The cakes are a dream...

Couldn't be happier with the service, presentation, and taste. I wasn't even sure I wanted a wedding cake, but after having some of Midnight Sun Cakery's cake at another wedding, I knew I had to have one from them. Anita was friendly, professional, and was able to take my ideas and make them into something beautiful. Wedding guests are still raving six months later!

There is nothing more to say about this place other than it is one of the best places to come for edible pieces of art. They have so much talent that they can do any design you ask them to and it will look flawless!

Beautiful cake, and wonderful baker who takes time to listen to you and your desires. The cakes and fillings and frost its are moist and delicious! Best bakery we tried for our wedding cake, and we are so glad we chose Midnight Sun Cakery. She does cupcakes too! They have awesome artistic abilities, as well, and they made our cake look amazingly realistic!

Anita with Midnight Sun Cakery was so easy to work with and really did an amazing job. She was flexible, had the most delicious cake base, and really did a full service by bringing her desserts to our wedding venue and setting it all up. I don't know if anyone has ever tried to transfer a two tier or taller wedding cake, but it's scary. With Midnight Sun Cakery, Anita takes all the hassle out of the dessert process. She is the best!

My cake was a complicated order, but Midnight Sun Cakery took it in stride. It's an everyday thing for them- no order is too complex or difficult. They made my dream happen, and I can't put a price on that. (But if I did, I'd say Midnight Sun undershot the price, making their products both reasonable and beautiful).

Midnight Sun Cakery did a great job on our wedding cake. When we first met nearly a year in advance, we were presented with nearly a full selection of samples. It was great to have time to taste each cake flavor, filling, and frosting option during our initial meeting. We were convinced from that point that this was the right choice - the samples were delicious. Just before the wedding, I dropped off our cake topper and changed our order around (adding an extra layer and a sheet cake) - Midnight Sun Cakery had no qualms about it. They met all of our needs, remained flexible with our changes, and delivered. The wedding cake decorations were just as we envisioned and everyone loved it! The cake tray provided was a beautiful match to our cake design. Best of all, the cake was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. We had 3 different layers: chocolate/raspberry ganache, almond/chocolate ganache, and chocolate/coconut ganache w/buttercream frosting and fondant overlay. It was superb and all our guests loved it too! Thank you!

Anita did my wedding cake and my bridal shower cake. I don't like cake that much but I could eat her cakes forever. I am not joking when I say her cakes are the BEST cakes i have ever tasted in my life. I got a snickeredoodle cake with cream cheese frosting, and my wedding cake was vanilla with strawberry for my husband. She can do anything. My bridal shower was Breakfast at Tiffany themed and she made my cake a giant Tiffany box with a big fondant bow. It was beautiful and there wasn't a piece left. On our honeymoon I told the caterer not to worry about the food, just pack me up the rest of the cake. Over the course of a few days my husband and I ate the whole thing. There was no top tier to save!!!

Not only is Anita a wonderfully talented baker and cake artist but she was an absolute pleasure to work with! My husband and I got our wedding cake and groom's cake from Midnight Sun Cakery and we could not have been more pleased with everything. The cakes were beautiful, tasted AMAZING and were HUGE hits with our guests! Anita really listed to us and created two custom cakes that truly reflected our personality as a couple. There aren't even words to explain how please I was with midnight sun. Anita could not have been more accommodating and professional. She took care of EVERYTHING, so that when I arrived to my reception everything was ready!! Our cakes were beautiful, they tasted amazing, and her prices were fair. FANTASTIC choice. I had a wonderful experience with Midnight Sun Cakery.
From the beginning Anita was very responsive to my emails. We met and I was able to taste many different types of cake and frosting and create the specific combo we liked. I even had a very specific idea of what I wanted my wedding cake to look like, so I brought a couple pictures and she made it happen, even though she had to order a couple extra supplies to do it. We got a three tiered cake with each tier having different flavors on the inside, with the smoothest buttercream frosting on the outside - no need for fondant to make a beautiful cake (unless you really want it).
I wasn't around for the delivery of the cake (I was a little busy getting married) but I heard it went smoothly and they arranged the extra floral additions to the cake on location, as well as the cake topper I provided.
Most importantly, the cake was SO TASTY and beautiful! I recommend them to all of my friends.

It might sound crazy, but I'm honestly not a huge cake fan. However, my husband and I tasted Anita's cake at a wedding expo and we were both blown away. Our venue (which also did all of the catering) included a cake free of charge, but my husband and I both definitely wanted to have a cake from Midnight Sun Cakery instead. It really is that good! We had a white chocolate raspberry cake and it was the most moist and delicious cake of all time. We can't wait to order a mini version of it for our anniversary! :)

Anita made my wedding cake and was my favorite vendor to work with! We had a unique situation of planning the wedding from 3,000 miles away with us not arriving to Anchorage until two weeks before the wedding. In all of our correspondence Anita's bubbly and excited personality showed, which just made me that much more excited to work with her--- none of my other vendors showed the same enthusiasm via email. After the future-in-laws did a cake tasting we we sold. To make sure the cake turned out the way I wanted she held off making final decisions until I arrived in Anchorage and could do a cake tasting of my own; my oh my so many delicious options! So I did two because she has no problem doing multiple flavors. From there it was so easy to decide what we wanted. Definitely a professional who truly loves what she does and it shows!

Midnight Sun Cakery did a wonderful job at our wedding. Anita was easy to work with. Her cakes tasted delicious. We had a four tiered cake with three flavors. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say about the cake. I personally loved Snickerdoodle but our guests loved the chocolate with coconut filling. The wedding planning process can be stressful but working with Midnight Sun and Anita was so easy. You can trust that your cake will look and taste wonderful!

I contacted Midnight Sun Cakery exactly one week before my small spontaneous wedding with a request for a gluten-free cake. I fully expected Anita to say there was no way she could do an order in a week, let alone gluten-free. I was ecstatic when she said that neither request was a problem. I asked Anita for a classic and elegant design in all ivory, but left the specifics of the design up to her. She far exceeded my expectations for design and taste. The cake was one of the most decadent things I have ever eaten. It was amazing to have such a treat on my wedding day, and one that everyone in attendance could enjoy. I highly recommend Anita and intend on using her services again.

The wedding cake was beautiful and tasted great! I got lots of compliments on the cake and it was obvious people went back for seconds because there wasn't much left. Anita was wonderful to work with. She took an idea I found online for a wedding cake and turned it into a beautiful reality! She also created an amazing groom's cake that really made the wedding special. Both cakes were brought to the reception which was a huge help on our hectic day. Anita even kept the groom's cake hidden from the groom while bringing it in! Her cakes are delicious, definitely the best I've tasted in Anchorage. I had the pleasure of working with Anita for my wedding. Her work was absolutely perfect. I'd seen her creative pieces and when I told her that I wanted to surprise my husband with Detroit themed cupcakes, she took it on with no hesitation. When we arrived at the reception and saw the cake and cupcakes set-up it was amazing. My husband was completely taken by surprise and loved them(big cheesy smile). :) When it was time to taste the cake, it was delicious! We cannot wait til our 1 year anniversary to have a bite again! Anita baked a very special design of a cake for us, and she was incredible to work with. From the start, she seemed enthusiastic about both our idea and getting to know us, and that level of customer service is rare. When it came to the actual day of the marriage, she delivered the cake on-time and with a smile. Once we cut into the cake, everyone uniformly raved about it. Basically, we couldn't have asked for a better experience, and anyone with wedding cake needs couldn't find a better person to work with than Anita.

Midnight Sun was so great!!! My cake was beautiful and every thing I couldnt have even dreamed. I came to her with nothing, no idea for flavor or design, just a picture of my dress. She gave me the most beautiful cake inspired by my dress, more than once i was able to text her "hey, I have a last minute want" "hey...what did my cupcakes look like??" Anita was perfect and I fully plan on coming back to her for a special birthday cake for my mom's 50th.

Anita went above and beyond my expectations! She drew out my cake, ordered all of the accessories (fountain, columns and stairs), played with the cake flavors to make exactly what I wanted (lemon cake with raspberry fill for two of my tiers, white chocolate cake with a white chocolate and caramel ganach for two of my tiers, white chocolate cake with a white chocolate and coconut ganach for one tier, and a dark chocolate cake with a dark chocolate ganach for my last two tiers), I told her I wanted the cake super moist (so moist you could press the fork against the crumbs and they would stick together) with a cream cheese frosting that wasn't over the top sweet- and she did it! I told her I needed a whole 8" round cake for my cousin who was allergic to egg, and she made a beautiful small little cake for her. I asked her to make a groom's cake that had flames and skulls and she made the most amazing white chocolate cake with a white chocolate and peanut butter ganach fill and cream cheese frosting. She worked with my last minute requests and changes and my cake (all 7 tiers and two side cakes) were AMAZING! She made small trial size cakes so I could taste how it would be exactly when mixed together. And I wanted the fondant to be as thin as possible- although it was very tasty- she did it! I could go on for days about how amazing Anita is! Five stars just does not do her work justice. And her prices made it even better!

I highly recommend the Midnight Sun Cakery to anyone in Alaska planning a wedding. Anita was wonderful to work with every step of the way. I had a destination wedding in Alaska and Anita worked with me over the phone and email to get an idea of what I wanted the cake and cupcakes to look like. Then she was willing to do a tasting with my family and me (5 people total) a week before the event (which was when we flew into Anchorage). All the flavors were delicious, which made it a little tough trying to decide which ones to choose for our wedding. Anita also allowed us to pick up the cake, cupcakes and stands a day early and then drop the stands off 2 days after, since the wedding was not in the Anchorage area. Everyone at the wedding raved about the cake and cupcakes. The cake and cupcakes were both beautiful and delicious. We could not be happier with the service and quality of product that Anita provided.

Anita from Midnight Sun Cakery did an AMAZING job on my wedding cake! From every detail design, texture, and taste my cake was every thing that I had wished for on my special day. Guest left my cake complimenting how moist and rich in flavor the cake was and also how beautiful the design was with her fondant leaves and branches that she made with chocolate. Also she was punctual with time and provided a new form of professionalism with sketching your choice of cake design right their with you adding a feeling of security with knowing your getting the cake you envision. No other cake place in all of Anchorage comes even close in comparison to how awesome Midnight Sun Cakery is!!!!

Anita was great to work with and her cake tastes great! I really enjoyed meeting with her to talk about my even, my husband to be and what I wanted in my cake. She drew a picture of my wedding cake based on what I said I wanted. The picture didn't do the cake justice at all! I was truly impressed with the way our wedding cake and grooms cake turned out. I heard several comments throughout the night on how pretty they were.

Anita was amazing to work with and it is obvious she loves her job. The cake was exactly what we were hoping for. The design was elegant and matched our "theme" perfectly. Even more importantly was the cake itself. It was amazing. We went crazy and had 3 different layers of cake and filling and Anita encouraged us to do whatever we wanted. She made it work. Finally, the cake was moist, light and simply perfect. I would recommend Anita to anyone wanting that moist cake and wanting to dream big for their wedding (or everyday) cake! Thank you!!

I was so impressed with Midnight Sun Cakery. My Husband and myself visited at least 3 other popular anchorage bakery's and Midnight Sun by far surpassed them with great customer service. Are cake was beautiful and exactley what we asked for. I would, and will recommend her!!!!

I loved the ease of this vendor. I met with her once. Tasted cakes, discussed exactly what i wanted, then I didn't have to worry at all. On my wedding day the cake was delivered right on time, exactly the way I wanted it and it tasted amazing!

Midnight Sun Cakery and Anita are wonderful!! Anita worked with us and gave us everything we wanted and more!! Anita made us cupcakes and bonbons and then also did our grooms cake. It was a one of a kind and she did an excellent job!!! She also made a new flavor of cake for the grooms cake and it was to die for!!! Everyone LOVED everything!!
I would recommend Midnight Sun Cakery for any event that needs a dessert!!

Anita was fabulous! She was very flexible with our schedules and just awesome all around :) She brought many different types of cake to taste, all of which were yummy! We met multiple times to discuss what I wanted in my wedding cake and cupcakes and the layout of the wedding table. She delivered the wedding cake and cupcakes to our venue and set up the table for us. She also let us borrow a few of her cake stands for a refundable deposit. I will definitely be using her in the future!

We chose Anita from Midnight Sun Cakery to make our wedding cake. At our initial meeting, we both were very impressed with all that Anita's professionalism and all that she had to offer. She came prepared with many different cake and frosting flavors and when we told her approximately what we wanted the cake to look like, she made a sketch for us right there. It was difficult to choose just a couple cake flavors because they all were so delicious! Furthermore, I really felt like she understood exactly what we wanted and I had no concerns that the cake would be fantastic. On the day of the wedding, I knew I didn't have to worry about the delivery and set-up of the cake. Anita had the cake all set up and had left before I even realized she had been there. The cake was absolutely beautiful. She designed it as we had discussed and it was just how I had pictured it in my mind. After the cake was served, there was not a single piece left. The guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. I would highly recommend Midnight Sun Cakery.

The bow and spruce boughs on the Yule log were so beautiful, they looked real. The guests raved about how delicious it tasted, and some guests had three pieces! We will definitely ask Midnight Sun Cakery to make another cake when the next occasion arises

We were totally thrilled with our cake. Our meetings were very professional, the cake was delivered timely, and the most important part...the cake was DELICIOUS! Worth every penny!

Anita made a four tiered cake for our wedding day and it was spectacular to say the least. It was absolutely a piece of art and was so incredibly delicious. Our guests raved about the cake - some even saying it was the best they've ever had at a wedding. She transported it to us in Palmer from Anchorage and everything went off without a hitch. She coordinated well with my other vendors and was quick to respond via email when needed. We did a tasting with her in her studio prior to booking with her and were blown away by her professionalism and creativity, she truly is an artist. Anita is friendly and knows her stuff. She is also able to listen to what we wanted and give great suggestions on flavor, shape, vision, and deliver! We got a 4 tier cake with alternating shapes and each tier was a different flavor. OMG I am so glad the best man saved me some cake to eat later because it was scrumptious, mouthwatering, and simply almost too gorgeous to eat! (I think I got 3 bites in at the wedding and was posing for photos). She drove the cake all the way out to Girdwood and set it up in the summer heat, and the cake held up for hours and everybody commented on how tasty it was. I thought her pricing was very reasonable, and the flavor variety was pretty impressive. I am requesting my husband to get us an anniversary cake. :)

The cake was wonderful and delicious. Midnight Sun Cakery worked with us to come up with a design that fit our personalities and was perfect for the wedding. The cake turned out exactly as we had imagined it would -- Anita was able to print out photos onto edible paper that added a nice touch to the cake. I had a very specialized custom cake with three edible figures. They were anatomically detailed and exactly what I wanted. The design was a composite of two others I'd found on the site of a London cakery. Anita was very helpful and did a fabulous job. Not only was the cake very attractive and exactly what I wanted in terms of apperance, it was also delicious! Not one of your typical grocery store or big box flat cakes.

This is the first time I've purchased a custom cake so I have no experience with pricing. It was certainly more expensive than I expected, but the pricing was explained in detail and seemed to be in line with what I could find on other sites.

I chose Anita almost at random based on a Google search, and I'm very pleased that I found her.

We met with Anita once for a cake sample tasting and design discussion for our wedding cake. After that, we didn't talk to her again until two days before the wedding cause we didn't need to. The cake we wanted was a hard cake to do, she made it work and of course it was delicious!

Delicious cake

We chose midnight sun cakery for their wonderful delicious cakes! While the cake and decor of the cake were both wonderful, we were disappointed in the responsiveness. Trying to contact them was extremely difficult and when I had changes to make to my order I was getting stressed by their lack of contact with me. We were also shocked by the costs of the cake. Originally we wanted a 3 tier, unfortunately it was going to cost $700 so we needed to downsize to a single tier but because it was specifically for a wedding, it didn’t matter what size, my lowest cost would be $300.
