Michelle is an incredibly skilled hair design artist and an awesome person. When I came to Michelle for my preview, I had a vision for my hair and couldn't quite articulate it yet. However, I showed her one picture and she new all the right questions to ask me and guided me through the process. She created a hair design that was better than I imagined and that made me feel like I was in a magical fairytale. Not only is she an incredible artist but her presence and energy helped create a positive and relaxed tone while getting ready. She was both calm and organized and jump right into the jokes and stories my friends and family were sharing. I could not have imagined choosing anyone else to design my hair and be apart of creating such a magical day!!Michelle Anne Hair Design's reply:

Michelle is amazing!!
Michelle styled hair for both my wedding and my sisters wedding and we couldn’t have been happier!! Not only is she amazing at what she does, she is so kind, personable, funny and easy to talk to. She fits right in with your bridal party and delivers the exact hair style everyone wants! She is always so responsive to communications and flexible - she stayed after to do touch ups for my bridal party during photos in the rain and wasn’t afraid to run around to ensure we all looked perfect! She even sent me an entire album of pictures and videos she was able to capture “behind the scenes” on my wedding day! She is AMAZING!!! Booking her is a no brainer - highly recommend her to anyone who wants to look and feel amazing!!!Michelle Anne Hair Design's reply:

Brilliant Hairstylist
Michelle Ann is incredible! She gave me the fairy princess wedding hair of my dreams. She also did a wonderful job with my bridal party. She considered what everyone wanted and was able to make their hair dreams a reality as well. She is really innovative as well, working to create a 'pocket' for my veil. Finally, she was so sweet with my 5-year old niece. She made her feel beautiful. Highly recommend! -

Michelle provided hair styling for myself, my five bridesmaids, mother and mother in law for my recent wedding at the end of October. She was extremely professional and organized on the day of and I had a fantastic experience from my initial inquiry, hair trail and wedding day! I have only had my hair done a few times prior and had never been happy with it but Michelle understood exactly what I was looking for. My sisters and I have very flat, straight hair and she added fabulous texture and styles that last all day and night. I would highly recommend her services!Michelle Anne Hair Design's reply:

Michelle is the best!
Michelle did my hair on my wedding day, along with 8 members of my bridal party, and she was amazing! I had such a lovely experience working with her, from the hair trial to her efficiency and expertise on the morning of the wedding. She was able to nail exactly the look I was hoping to have, and it was the perfect combination of feeling special and extra beautiful while still feeling like myself. Not to mention it held in place all day through hours of photos, greeting guests and dancing! She was so kind and attentive and carefully listened to what I wanted while providing her own advice and recommendations. She was also such a pleasure to have around while we all got ready that morning, and we all loved chatting with her. :) I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a rockstar wedding hair stylist! -

Michelle did my hair for my big day as well as my mother's and mother in-law's. We were all very happy with how our hair turned out and Michelle took her time to make sure that our looks were executed flawlessly. I also appreciate Michelle's communication leading up to the event itself. I wasn't able to do a trial with her as I was coming in from out of town, but we were able to land on a look prior to the wedding by exchanging pictures and through her feedback prior. Michelle was highly professional and I would recommend her. Thank you for helping to make my day special! -

Michelle is an amazing hair stylist - she did such an great job at my wedding. She was super prompt and easy to communicate with, and she is laid back and fun to be around - she made everyone feel so comfortable. Michelle was also so great with my niece who was beside herself excited to get her hair done and had manyyyy questions for her. My hair style was exactly what I envisioned, and it stayed in place all night long - including a hair piece! She also was able to recommend a wonderful makeup artist for me which was so helpful. I highly recommend booking Michelle - she will be with you every step of the way! Thanks Michelle!! -

Amazingly talented hair stylist - a must hire!
Michelle is the very best. I would highly recommend her for your wedding and I can promise you won’t be disappointed. I had my first trial 8 months before my wedding and really didn’t know what I wanted yet. Michelle took the photo I gave her and copied it EXACTLY (not an easy task). Then, in typical bride-to-be fashion, I changed my mind a few months before the wedding and wanted something completely different. Michelle suggested a second trial, which we ended up doing. Again, she took the photos I showed her and executed it perfectly on my hair. She made many suggestions about what to do with my hair and was just generally so knowledgeable about wedding hair—I knew I was in good hands. The wedding day came and Michelle was on time with her assistant and they got to work. I find that when you have as many bridesmaids as I did (14 to be exact) their hair styles tend to be pretty simple, mostly due to time constraints. Michelle and her assistant made each of my bridesmaids look UNBELIEVABLE. Any of their updos could have been the bridal updo—all so full of intricate details and design. She did exactly what they all wanted and ended up inspiring a few extra girls to get their hair done who had originally opted out. On top of all of this, she was done early, something the photographer mentioned she had never seen before at a wedding of our size. I don’t know how she and her team did it, but they effortlessly executed some of the best hairstyles I have ever seen in my life. Mine was no exception. I wore my hair mostly down which can easily go flat or fall out throughout the night (as I’ve seen in some wedding photos from other brides who attempted this look). My hair somehow still looked good the next morning! I don’t know how she did it, but it stayed put through hours and hours of dancing and beyond. Michelle is a hair magician and is definitely someone I would highly recommend to any bride. She is also professional, super fun, kind, and just an all around wonderful person. We found Michelle off of my venue’s (The Grafton Inn) preferred vendor list. She was amazing to work with! My wedding was a destination wedding and I did not have time to come north for a trial. I consulted with Michelle by phone, sent her photos and we were good to go.
The day of my wedding all of the members of my bridal party and my two mothers looked beautiful. I have to give special kudos for her handling of our 3 year old flower girl. She was so gentle and kind with her. You will not be disappointed if you choose to book Michelle. -

I had hired Michelle Anne Hair Design for my bridal hair, MOH's hair, and Mothers hair. The interactions I had with her prior to her canceling on me 1 week out from my wedding (yes, 7 days out from the day) were very unpleasant. I consider myself an organized and diligent person when it comes to planning and being on top of communication. When I emailed Michelle a week prior to my wedding asking how much time she'd need to do our hair and provided her with the hotel we'd be doing hair at, she responded saying she would need an entirely separate room (from where we were doing makeup, mind you I had also reserved the biggest room the hotel offered) with one in one out at a time due to COVID protocol. This was the FIRST TIME she ever mentioned this. I gave Michelle a call because I was confused by this sudden demand. I explained we are all vaccinated, would wear masks when we weren't getting hair/makeup done, and would keep our distance from her while she was styling. Granted, she was going to be within 6 feet of all of us regardless because of the hair styling, and when I brought that up she couldn't come up with a response to my point. I explained that I was a bit shocked and frustrated that this was coming up for the first time a week out from the wedding and I didn't imagine all of us being separated the morning of. I should also mention, my makeup vendor had no such requirements or demands and she is very professional and highly rated for her services. I said I would do my best to request that my sister's or mom's room be right next to mine or on the same floor, and she seemed to be OK with that and we ended the discussion. An hour later, I get a passive aggressive text from her saying to confirm, she will need a separate room to provide her services with one person in/out at a time. She also noted that I signed her "protocol" upon booking her. I called her again because I was driving and asked her to clarify and explained I didn’t recall that and that this had been a very stressful experience and felt like I as the client was having to bend over backwards to meet her demands. I explained again I was planning on using my mom/sister's room as a separate space and the call ended again. I pulled over to reread the protocol/contract she was referencing and sent her a screenshot of the "Health & Safety" section asking if that is the part she was referring to. See the attached photo for reference - it mentions NOTHING about separate spaces/rooms. She didn't respond to my text and 5 minutes later I received an email saying she cancelled my reservation and would not provide her services. I was blown away by her unprofessionalism and inflexibility. I felt the need to warn future brides about Michelle's business ethic and poor communication through this review. Lastly, I want to state that I am very cautious about COVID and this delta variant and wear a mask everywhere in public. My husband and I also required all of our guests be fully vaccinated if they planned on attending our wedding. At no point did I ever have this kind of experience with any of the vendors I worked with. They were all very communicative, flexible, and kind people. Fortunately, I was able to book a wonderful and highly-rated hair stylist near my venue the same day Michelle canceled on me, so that is the silver lining of this whole situation.Michelle Anne Hair Design's reply:

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective on the experience you had communicating with me. It is disappointing to hear that this was the worst experience ever and was certainly never my intent to make you feel this way.
Upon signing your contract in November of 2020, almost one year prior to your wedding, you had agreed to my "Back to Practice Protocol" which is one of the documents sent with your contract. I have the thread archived in the Honeybook program where this is shown to have been read by you.
My "Back to Practice Protocol" clearly states my required working environment during this pandemic and is put in place to protect not only myself, but all my 40+ brides that I have styled this year. All of whom have been thankful I have been so safe and thoughtful in practice.
When you called me on the phone to voice how upset you were about needing a separate space you became aggressive, hostile and verbally abusive.
This type of treatment is not acceptable in my working relationships and harassment of any kind is grounds for termination of your contract.
Due to the circumstances listed above, I canceled your contract and you received a full refund including your retainer.
Had I not been harassed, I would have been very happy to come to an agreement that was a safe working environment for all.
I am truly glad you found someone that could better suit your needs and I wish you all the best.
