We brought Michael back for our family reunion this past August. Two years ago, he and his staff wowed all of the family with his great food and his friendly staff. Once again, he delivered his delectable fair for our family.

Instead of having on-site catering, we asked that he prepare trays of food for us. Fish, chicken and BBQ along with delicious homade sides completed the menu. He was punctual and the food was hot!!! How delightful it is not to have to do anything but put the food on the table.

Michael will work with you in your menu and provide great options to fit your budget. He is responsive when it comes to inquiries.

If you want great food, friendly service and want a very reasonable price for yummy food, Michael's Catering is the company for you! We look forward to having him back again for our next event. Thanks Michael!!!

Michael was a real pleasure working with for my wedding! He made every effort to help me plan my reception and was very flexible with staying in my budget. The food was very delicious and his staff was very professional! Five Stars!

Michael's Catering did an outstanding job providing catering service for my Retirement Ceremony. I would highly recommend his businees to anyone for any type of the event. His service was top notch and the food was excellent. My family and friends were very pleased with the quality of food, especially the meatballs and cake. I'm glad that one of my good friends recommended his catering service to me. Michael catereed our wedding at the Frieght Shed in Yorktown. He did a wonderful job with the food, even when he had to cook a variety of different foods for us. Everyone enjoyed the food and his customer service. He was on time to set up and very help with us finding the person who did the wedding cake also

I had an awesome experience with Michael's Catering. My original wedding date was July 24, 2010. However, due to tragic circumstances we had to change the wedding date. Michael had no issues with changing everything around. He contacted all parties involved to alert them of the new date. There were no issues at all. He was very accommodating. I could not have asked for a better experience. He made my wedding everything I envisioned it to be. :)

Michael was very helpful and responsive to my and my husband's concerns about the wedding. He and his staff were professional and provided excellent service. The food was outstanding! My two favorites were the mac and cheese as well as the sweet tea fountain! If you are looking for great quality service without the astronomical cost, Michael's Catering is where you should look.

Michael's Catering provided the exact menu and drink service that my daughter wanted. Their set up and clean-up were prompt and efficient. Michael was also helpful in securing the sound system my daughter and her fiance wanted. He was flexible when the wedding had to be postponed because of a boating accident. All in all, a great value!

I attended wedding on 7/18/10 and I want to thank Michael and his staff for their professionalism, neatness and delicious food. Michael provided great service and worked with me on the price, which was great. The food was absolutely wonderful, my guests were very pleased and i was continuously told how much people loved it. He was also my bartender and he was not only professional but also friendly. I would recommend him for any catered event.

We had secured a caterer for the wedding, when she had to cancel on us. That was about 2 weeks before the wedding! Mr. Davis responded to our request for a new caterer on a very short notice. He and his staff were excellent! The food was delicious! We give him tremendous thanks!

Wonderful service, food and making it personal. Michael worked with me on changing little things to my menu to accommodate for the amount of children I had at my wedding plus the appearance of the food. The staff even went as far to wear the colors of my wedding. Very professional and I had my family telling me for several days after the wedding how great the food was. Thank you Michael and staff.

Michael catered my daughter's wedding in August. The food was delicious and there was plenty tons of it. We were EXTREMELY pleased with our decision to contract with him. His company also provided the large tent, tables and chairs for the outdoor event - even the white tablecloths. We had shopped around at other rental places but he offered, by far, the best deal. I could not have asked for a better experience than this. I would definately use his company again!!!

For my sister's wedding, I had the job of finding a caterer. Once found, the rest of the interaction would take place between our mother and the caterer.

On the day that I called Michael's Catering, I had called several other caterers in Eastern Virginia (as I am out of state) and he was the first to call me back, the most professional out of those that called me back, and had the best price with the food options that we were looking for. He had my approval, so I sent his information to my mother.

Of course I was concerned that perhaps I might like him and my mother might not, but she was so thrilled and had such wonderful things to say about his professionalism, flexibility, and helpfulness. We were planning this wedding out of town and Michael's Catering offered information on rentals for chairs, tents, tables, and linens at an affordable price.

Day of the wedding, the staff was so kind and the food was delicious. All of the self-made cooks in my family said they couldn't have done any better! I even started cleaning up some trash and was quickly shooed away by one of Michael's staff that told me to get back to the bride and they would take care of everything else!

I was so impressed!!! If I had any other function in or around Michael's Catering, they would be my exclusive vendor!!!

Michael was very friendly and very professional. I would recommend him for all of your catering needs. He provided everything I needed to help my husband and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. He was very helpful in helping us decorate out reception hall.

Micheals help with the wedding was invaluable. He worked with us to plan a menu that we could afford w/o breaking the bank. He stuck by our side when our 1st location fell through and was ready and willing to do the whatever ppwk was needed to get on the approved vendor list at other locations we looked at. He even help us find a DJ.

Michael went above and beyond to help make the wedding a success.

Mr. Davis catered my wedding and did food for 650 guests for me. He did a excellent job on my wedding and everyone enjoyed the food and service he provided. I know for sure he picked up 6 clients from my wedding. I would reccomend him to anyone.

The only thing I would say is that the guests felt that the chicken was a bit too dry, which may not even be the fault of the vendor. It was a very hot night and he had to travel a good distance, so that may have caused the chicken to be dry. Everything else was perfect! Roast beef was outstanding, and the pulled pork (which I normally don't like but which the bride and groom requested, was the first pulled pork I ever truly liked in my life of 60 years!!!

Michael was really great. The food was good and everything was really easy to do with him. I like the closeness he has with his clients and I would definitely use him again or refer him to a friend. People are still talking about the food :o)

Overall, our experience with Michael's Catering met our expectations. Michael was very prompt in responding to my initial request for a callback and with taste testing. Everyone at the wedding enjoyed both the food and the cake - no complaints. Michael also was up front about his prices and very fair with his prices.

Micheal was great with flexibility and responsiveness, however I thought the quality of food compared to cost was inadequate. We ordered chicken marsala and baked trout, although the baked trout was very good; the chicken was very dry and it seemed like we could have saved a lot of money if we did it ourselves. Keep in mind, we did order the buffet style however I was expecting a lot better tasting food.

The ony thing we were not happy with was that the food was served late and our guests were complaining about how long they were taking to serve the food. When the food was finally serve my guest complain of the food being cold. Michael had another event that same day so I would say maybe that was the reason for everything being rushed. I do have to say the servers were very young almost want to say teenagers but were very polite and knew what they were doing. I guesss I would say as long as he does not have a second wedding for the same day I guess it would go smoothly. My guests did say that the food had a very good taste to it but like I said was very cold.

I used Michael to cater an outside wedding at the end of June for 100 guests. He also handed our event rentals.

When discussing the wedding, our contract specified that the wait staff would be wearing black tie attire and the tent would be white. The wait staff arrived the day of the wedding wearing striped polo shirts and dark pants. The tent that was set up was bright yellow and white striped. When I called Michael regarding the tent prior to the event start, he indicated that the white tent had been damaged two weeks prior and no other company in the vicinity had a white tent available. He also said that he thought the yellow and white tent blended in to the scenery (an outdoor location on the Mattaponi River). I called another company and had them bring me a white tent; when I informed Michael that another company was on their way, he told me that he could replace the tent himself with a white one (although he had previously told me one was not available). I indicated that this was not necessary, as I had solved the problem on my own. He only gave me a $250 credit for the tent, even though we inititially paid $750 to rent it.

The catering staff did not bring any water and ran out of non-alcoholic drinks (punch, soda) during the salad course. When we asked about that, Michael said that he was not responsible for non-alcoholic drinks, even though our contract indicated that he would bring the sodas and water. We did have plenty of alcohol, but the guests who did not drink or were children were parched! One of our wedding guests had to leave the reception to go and purchase sodas and water from a nearby store.

The food was good - we had the baked chicken and the pork. Our guests had positive things to say about the food. However, the pork was supposed to have a mustard glaze and instead he brought a cold bowl of yellow mustard.

Overall, we did not pay as much as quotes from other companies we contacted, but we also got what we paid for. There is no way that our family would use him for another event as important as a wedding.

I had Michael's cater my wedding & both his staff and himself were EXTREMELY RUDE To my guest. I did not speak to Michael or eat his food the day of so these comments are strictly from my guest but they said the pasta was disgusting! He has his girlfriend working for him & she's rude and unprofessional. He did not want to serve the bride & groom! His girlfriend/worker dropped food & still tried to serve it. They also had a child/teenager serving which was not discussed prior to the event. If I wanted teenagers serving I could have had family cater my event. Also, we have one his workers stealing a brownie off the dessert table. We paid for 90 guest to eat and had about 10-15 no shows and there was no food left at the end of the event like discussed and no one went back for seconds due to it being a Sunday most people left right after they ate. I would not recommend them to anyone. Spend a little more for better service. It's worth it ! Also, this was a private event and Michael can be seen in the wedding pictures taking his own pictures and/or recording things on his tablet that were happening during the wedding. This would have been acceptable IF it was included in our contract or even discussed between with the bride & groom.

The food was good for the most part the potatoes that we had were terribly under cooked. He originally said he would be fully staffed for the event which he only brought one other person with him and she didn't know what she was doing. His staff broke our wedding topper by not putting it on the cake correctly and then blamed us for it. We asked him to reinburse us for the cost he wouldn't do that either. The food was ok but very unprofessional.
