We cannot say enough great things about Mike! When we were planning, we knew that photography was one of if not the most important vendors to find. Our goal was to find someone with an authentic, timeless, crisp and real style… and boy is that what we found! From our initial call, Mike was so kind, helpful, and honest. He helped us create the vision of what we wanted captured and we can confidently say he absolutely nailed it. He even braved a torrential downpour early August for our engagement shoot because it was the only weekend we were going to be in Connecticut for a while and the photos were incredible! Mike truly is the best of the best, and we are so fortunate we could have him capture our special day so perfectly. -

We absolutely love Michael!!!! We could not have hired a better photographer and can’t recommend him enough! He is kind, courteous, professional, fun, and an excellent photographer. He is good at making you feel relaxed and has a great eye. Above all, he rose to the difficult challenge of not using any flash for our wedding. I am photosensitive and can’t be around flashing lights. One camera flash could have ruined our entire day. We looked into finding a photographer before we even figured out a date or venue and Michael not only rose to the challenge, but exceeded it. Right from our first meeting he gave us the great advice of choosing May so we would have two additional hours of daylight. I’m pretty sure he also invested in fill lights to make sure he was set up for success. We have so many beautiful photos we love and will always cherish and were able to fully enjoy the day. I love weddings but can never enjoy them because I have to always hide from all the flash photography. Michael allowed us to have the time of our lives without any fear, all while capturing stunning photos; It meant so much to my husband and me. -

We hired Michael Orzell to photograph our wedding back in July (2024), and opted for his Love package (included engagement photos, wedding photos, wedding album). I cannot say enough about how wonderful of an experience we got. From the initial call, Mike was incredibly patient, helpful, and thorough. He made suggestions and ideas that I would have never thought of but loved, and went above and beyond in helping me plan/execute the most wonderful day.
He was super helpful in guiding my husband and I through the engagement session, despite us feeling out of our element. We got to have multiple outfit changes and locations. Plus, he got the photos back to us in a timely manner, and was very open to editing them as desired.
During the wedding, he captured the day, timeline, and important people in my life just as I had pictured, and in most cases, even better. He really shines at capturing couples in natural, candid moments, and my guests could not say enough good things about him, and the previews we got to see shortly after the wedding.
He went above and beyond in making my 4th of July wedding theme dream come true, with a final hour delivery of smoke bombs so we could capture my husband and I in front of red, white and blue clouds. He also was professional but fun, and got out on the dance floor to capture some incredible action photos of our guests dancing.
He delivered the wedding photos when he said he would, and then moved on to crafting the wedding album of my dreams. He did a fantastic job showcasing the timeline, and answered every edit/ request within 24/48 hours. Once we finalized the album, he got it sent out within a week, and the quality was even better than I had been anticipating.
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Mike; and look forward to future opportunities to work with him again as our family grows. Highly recommend. -

Without hesitation, my husband and I would HIGHLY recommend Mike as your photographer. After we got engaged, finding a photographer that captured one of my life's biggest days through photographs was my most important job. Once we stumbled upon Mike's page, we were instantly hooked! Mike makes a point to build a rapport with you before your big day to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. His communication to all of your questions is prompt via text or email. He listens to what you are looking for and asks questions you don't even think about while planning. Not only did our wedding photos turn our stunning, but our engagement photos also did. For many years, we will be admiring and reliving our wedding day by looking at our photos and photo album. We can't wait to work with Mike in the future! -

Mike was absolutely amazing! He did everything he could to get some really great shots. I love his candid style. He went above and beyond for our wedding at Bill Miller’s Castle. He talked with our family and guests to make them more comfortable with him around. He was so personable and friendly. He even tied all the groomsmen’s ties because he noticed they were having trouble. He was there to help and to take the most memorable pictures. I got a sneak peak of my photos 3 days after the wedding. We all went wild when we saw them! I am not a picture person and he made me look like we belong in a wedding magazine. I cannot sing his praises enough! I am so glad we booked Mike for such an important part of our wedding. -

Mike was so professional and took all the pictures I was requesting despite the fact that the list was a hundred miles long of all the different combinations of people I wanted. We had such a blast with him at both our engagement shoot and our wedding. After receiving our photos today, I couldn't recommend anyone more. I normally hate 50% of the photos taken of myself and I LOVED ALL OF THEM. He captured moments I didn't even know were happening because of how busy I was and I throughly enjoyed spending the evening going through all of them! If I could scream my praises from the rooftops I would. literally a dream come true, and the photos are magical. 11/10 would recommend him as your photographer!!! -

Highly recommend!! We had a wonderful engagement shoot, and when we learned that we had to postpone our larger reception Michael was very accommodating. We still held a smaller COVID friendly ceremony and reception that we decided to have Michael come shoot. He goes above and beyond, and it was a great experience! Cant wait to work with him again next year! update: Michael came back and shot our vow renewal at our original venue a year later! We also ventured to City Hall in Hartford for a different backdrop. He is so great to work with and the sneak preview of our photos came back great!! I can't wait to see the rest. Highly recommend!! -

There are not enough good things to say about Mike! He is very responsive which is something I needed as an organized (borderline OCD) bride. He has the best personality which makes it easy to feel comfortable around him. Mike went above and beyond for us and even braved the rain to get some cool outdoor pictures during our cocktail hour. He genuinely cares about his clients and wants to provide the best experience. We also had a second photographer, Seth, who kept us laughing all day. You can’t go wrong with Michael Orzell Photography! -

We are so grateful we booked Michael to be our photographer. He was so easy to work with and was extremely thoughtful. The day of our wedding he worked so hard to get all the pictures we requested, which is not easy with two HUGE families! He was so kind and genuinely cared about capturing our day and making everyone comfortable (even on the hottest day of the summer). We had tons of guests complement him. We got our pictures and are so excited about how they came out! We highly highly recommend Michael! -

Photography review
Mike was fantastic!! My husband I hired Mike for our engagement and wedding photos. He was amazing all around: very personable and professional, so talented, and even put in my wedding veil for me when my mom and sister weren’t getting it right! He was easy to reach for questions, and always on top of sending photos by the time estimates he set. A member of our bridal party already hired him for their wedding :) -

If I only had to use one word, it would be WOW. I cannot explain how happy I was to stumble across Michael Orzell Photography at a bridal expo. I did not think those actually worked until I met him! Mike was amazing during the entire process, start to finish.. and ours was a long one because we were a covid couple who had to postpone another 7 months!! Mike stuck through it all with us and never hesitated to continue to assure us that everything would be amazing. His calm demeanor also brought a lot to my wedding day morning as I am a naturally anxious person. We honestly are so glad we hired Michael Orzell Photography and have been nothing but amazed at the presentation of our photos. Hire Michael Orzell Photography - You won’t be disappointed!!! ❤️ -

Highly recommend! The pictures for our wedding and engagement shoot came out fantastic. He captured some very special moments, that will forever be memories we can look back on. Mike is super easy to work with and makes you feel comfortable taking pictures. He traveled to us in Boston for our engagement shoot, and the pictures came out even better than I imagined. Mike pays attention to detail and is very professional, but he also makes it fun! Our wedding photos are amazing, and I'm so happy we chose Mike. -

Michael is an amazing photographer. We were absolutely floored with our photos from our wedding and engagement session. We had the opportunity to work with Michael for our wedding on September 12, 2020. Through this pandemic, we were nervous that we would not be able to get authentic reactions and beautiful pictures since mask wearing was required during our ceremony. Somehow, Michael found a way to capture our love, our guests reactions and minimal pictures with masks. We have no idea how he got certain angles and pictures, because he did not take away from the moment at all. We are so lucky to have worked with Michael and are excited to look at our photos for years to come. If you are looking for a photographer that captures authentic moments and is a true professional, we highly recommend Michael Orzell. -

I don't have enough great things to say about Mike. We just loved working with him for the engagement shoot and on the wedding day. He got things done and was wonderful to work with while doing so. Our families absolutely loved him, and the photos we've seen so far are incredible. Also, the price is right on top of all of that. Highly, highly recommend him! -

We cannot say enough good things about working with our photographer, Mike. His work is truly stunning. Mike really cares about his work, and he also truly cares about the couples he works with. Bonus, he’s also a lot of fun, and you spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day. He was reachable and responsive from our very first inquiry to any questions we had even after our big day. Some of my questions planned down to very small details, and Mike was always extremely helpful. We elected to have a second photographer as well, and Mike brought along Nick, who was also a pleasure to work with.
When you’re wedding planning, everyone tells you how quickly the day goes by and to really enjoy each moment. Thanks to Mike’s creative and thoughtful eye, we will be able to look back on all those special moments whenever we want and we are so thankful for that. We highly recommend picking Mike Orzell as your wedding photographer. -

My husband Bobby and I have worked in the wedding industry for years now -- we are both professional musicians, and I am also a professional florist. Between the two of us, we've probably worked 250+ weddings. We've seen it all -- the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between. We hired Mike Orzell for our own wedding and he is by far the best photographer that we've ever worked with.
Mike was amazing from start to finish. We first booked him because we liked the work featured on his website (especially all the candid shots) and he seemed like a really nice guy, which he absolutely is. He went out of his way to learn as much as possible about us as a couple and what we were looking for in capturing the event.
The day of the wedding, Mike brought a joyful energy to his work and made everyone feel comfortable. Through the family portraits he kept everyone in our families organized (and we both have big families!) and he kept the mood light.
We couldn't have been happier with the way the photos turned out. He was really able to capture the JOY of the day through the emotions on everyone's faces. His action shots of the ceremony and our first dance were amazing, and his candids were spectacular. Everyone looks good in all of them.
We are so happy to be able to look back on our Big Day through his photos forever! Thank you Mike!! -

I went with Michael as our wedding photographer on 6/22/19 because I liked his photography style, his down to earth nature, and maybe a little blind faith BUT HOLY COW I am so happy I did!
Michael is super easy to work with, especially planning a wedding from across the country. He was the very last thing I had to worry about during the planning process and it made a big difference. He's professional, very talented, and an overall great guy.
And the photos! I had a park ceremony and backyard reception and he captured the entire day perfectly. Our families were blown away by the photos and how hard he worked during the day to capture them. He captured a great mix of our wedding day events, us as a couple, our family, and great candids of our guests.
I would absolutely recommend Michael in a heartbeat!! -

I really can’t thank Michael enough for his phenomenal work. Michael goes above and beyond expectations and his work is really stunning. My wife and I were nervous about being the center of attention with photographs but Michael made us feel really comfortable throughout the wedding day and during our engagement shoot. The pictures from both the wedding and the engagement shoot were absolutely beautiful. He did an amazing job getting some candid photos and capturing our entire wedding day. Family and friends keep commenting on how great his work is! Michael is very accommodating and easy to talk to, and he helped us a lot throughout the entire wedding process. My wife and I ordered a photo book from Michael after the wedding and the pictures came out exactly how we wanted them to! -

We had our engagement session at the end of December and had a very enjoyable experience working with him the day of and leading up to the shoot. He was flexible when we switched locations and when the weather didn't cooperate on the day that we had originally scheduled. To top it all of, the pictures we received are absolutely gorgeous! Michael did an equally amazing job photographing our wedding. He and his assistant were attentive throughout the day and made sure to photograph all of the important moments plus many candids of all of our guests. He did a wonderful job capturing the emotions of the day too. Choosing Michael to photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we could have made! -

Megan Sent on 07/19/2015Michael one the first vendor we booked and it was one of the best decisions we made! Michael took our engagement photos and he was so wonderful to work with. My fiance really wanted to take Lord of The Rings themed fun photos and Michael was all for it! And they came out way better than we thought they would and all of our guests loved them! In the whole planning wedding process after that initial photos taken we ended up changing our wedding venue at least twice and completely changing our wedding date as well. My now husband and I were so worried that he wouldn't be able to take our photos for our big day but Michael was so accommodating and was so easy to work with us in all of our requests.
On our actual wedding day we wanted to take our photos in the same place we took our engagement photos but we had to change the location slightly due to other wedding parties being in the same area. But we were so happy that we did, the pictures came out beautiful and gave us a different scenery than we had for our engagement photos. And in order for us to not have to pay overtime on the limos we had rented for the day Michael and his assistant Allie offered to drive us back to the reception venue. They did not have to do that for us and were so kind and made our day run more smoothly with all of their help. His assistant Allie was so wonderful as well and really made the group photos a breeze.
Michael was on of our favorite vendors to work with. He was so kind, professional, and the quality of Michael's work is worth way more than his what he charges.He was able to capture our wedding day and all of the love we had on our day in such a beautiful way. I recommend Michael Orzell Photography VERY highly for any of your photography needs!
