We knew we wanted a wedding planner that had personality, style, and took both the bride AND groom's opinions into account, and we knew on seeing Michael's website that his clients were the kinds of people we wanted to emulate. We saw the love between the dearly beloveds on his page and knew we wanted to join them in our happiest day; in talking to Michael at our first meeting, he made it clear that our wedding wouldn't be a canned affair, but a truly unique-to-us experience. He heard my groom and myself out thoroughly and let us both have equal time to share our thoughts instead of making it just MY day as the bride, which was very important to us. We told him we wanted magic and to be maybe even get married by a witch, and he was still on board. He asked if we needed to sacrifice a goat during the ceremony and was only a little bit outside his comfort zone (we didn't sacrifice a goat, but we did end up with a traditional handfasting ritual and a lot of celtic harp music).
Michael was honest, sweet, and excited for what lay in store for us every step of the way, and recommended the perfect florist for the all-out overgrown secret garden vibe I wanted. He put us in touch with a tailor and recommended options for my groom's custom tux, brought us one of the kindest officiants in the world when our witch fell through at the last minute, and even PICKED OUT MY PERFECT DRESS AT THE FIRST BRIDAL APPOINTMENT.
Go ahead and find me a wedding planner that knows their couples better than this man knew us. I dare you to try!
I never felt like I was a cookie cutter bride or that I was just another couple. He knew me and my groom's personalities and exactly what would make us excited, and treated us like the only couple in the world. If you don't pick Michael, you picked wrong. -

An expert and a trusted friend
I received so many words from my family members and friends about how wonderful Michael was at our wedding. That's what my husband and I got to experience for the year we worked with him. He is truly an amazing person who goes above and beyond for his clients and provides immense support throughout the entire process tailored to each couple he works with. I know this, because it couldn't have always been easy working with my husband and I, and yet, he stuck with us and believed in us, even through times that we felt stress and pressure as we completed our graduate studies and worked full time. That, I appreciate the most. By having Michael Marcoux as a wedding planner, you gain a wealth of experience, wisdom, and guidance at your disposal, but more than that, you gain a true friend throughout the process, a person who listens and brings to fruition the elements most meaningful to you and your partner. -

First class!!!!
I never thought I would get a wedding planner, until I realized not only how much it takes to make the most memorial day of your life happen smoothly, but how valuable a sense of peace and security can be on the equally most nerve racking day of your life. Michael, along with his team we’re on their A-Game, kind, patient, fun, and did everything to give my husband and I the best day ever. I don’t regret a single penny. Love them!!!! -

We were incredibly lucky to have Michael referred to us after he planned a wedding for a colleague. At our first meeting, Michael said something along the lines of: “My goal is that you have absolutely no stress your wedding weekend because you will have confidence that no matter what comes our way I will have it managed and taken care of so that you sit back and enjoy every moment of the weekend”. And is exactly how we and our parents felt the entire weekend. We had a zero stress wedding weekend because of Michaels meticulous planning, ability to identify problems before they arose, and his incredible dedication to making our vision come to reality.
We did the full package deal where Michael helped us find a venue, all our vendors, and was present our FULL wedding weekend (three days!). He set up countless tours until we found the perfect venue. He set up zoom calls with vendors to make sure that we connected with them prior to booking and he was present for every call in case questions came up. He came to all of our walk throughs at the venue and stayed late after to enjoy a margarita with us as we debriefed. We appreciated that he allowed a nice mix of letting us lead the way to create a vision for the weekend of our dreams, while also knowing when to step in when something didn’t seem right or to suggest additional ideas. What was most impressive was his impressively positive attitude throughout it all. He always had a smile on his face and was eager to hear even our craziest ideas, always happy to find a way to make them a reality.
At the end of the weekend, we had to stop counting how many guests came up to us and asked how we got so lucky in finding Michael. His positive energy is contagious and everyone could tell how he kept the entire weekend seamlessly running so smoothly. If you need a wedding planner, stop searching now and reach out to Michael - you won’t be disappointed. -

Hiring Michael was hands down the best decision we made.
Michael cares deeply about the events he helps to plan. From the big picture ‘vibe’ of the event, to the tiniest flower arrangement, Michael is careful to help craft wedding events that the couple and their guests will remember for a lifetime. Importantly, he responds to you - always focused on ensuring that it is your vision that is enacted, ready to take charge where needed and step back when not. Michael is empowering, helping you to realize the wedding of your dreams.
He is also all the things you hope for in a wedding planner; efficient, organized, and attentive. He has wonderful contacts within the industry, who speak highly of him and admire his work, so we felt confident we were always in good hands. He has thoughtful and creative suggestions, and is happy to help with the logistics of bringing those ideas to fruition. From handling the printing and formatting of quote cards we had made, to testing fabric pens and tying ribbons onto wedding favors, he's happy to take the stress out of the details. He is a very calming presence, handling every twist and turn with grace and ease. He was also tremendous in working with our families, helping our moms find dresses and checking in with each and every person in our wedding party and family to make sure they were comfortable and happy. Michael is adept at dealing with the occasional choppy waters of family dynamics with grace and ease.
On top of all this, Michael is a delight to work with. Funny, personable, and quick to smile, he makes every wedding related activity simply fun - tastings, vendor appointments, fittings - all of it was better, less stressful, more productive, and more enjoyable all around because of his presence.
But, perhaps most importantly, Michael cares about the people with whom he works. He takes the time to check in, both about wedding things and life things. He truly becomes a friend. We found ourselves looking forward to all the meetings with vendors in large part because it was a chance to grab a beer and hang out with Michael!
In the end, our weekend (which included 4 events Michael organized) was seamless and perfect. We were warned many times that “things don't go to plan” on the big day, but with Michael around, everything went off without a hitch. We felt like guests at our own wedding, with our bridal party and family all having stress-free days - able to sit back and enjoy the ride. We are tremendously thankful for Michael, and have already recommended him to everyone we know! -

Mike was a terrific wedding planner and did a phenomenal job for our wedding in Newport, RI in October of 2021! We got engaged in September 2020 - in the middle of COVID - and had to plan during COVID as well. The vast majority of our guests were supposed to travel in from across the country as well Europe. And in addition to our venue, we had to contract with over a dozen other vendors.
When we first met Mike, we had selected many of the vendors and were pretty far along in the planning process. But due to the COVID developments at the time, and the general stresses of planning a wedding, we had lost some of our enthusiasm for the wedding. During our first call with Mike, he immediately understood our vision and was swiftly able to transform that vision into a practical plan to deliver it. By the end of the call, we had both regained our original enthusiasm and then some! Throughout the remainder of our engagement, Mike was a consistent force to help us stay on-track to deliver on our vision and remain excited despite various COVID related setbacks.
The week and day of the wedding were choreographed and executed flawlessly thanks to all the planning allowing us to be fully engaged with our friends and family and enjoy what turned out to be a phenomenal wedding week!!!! -

Michael Marcoux planned our wedding on 9/11/21 in Providence, Rhode Island. My groom and I could not have been happier with how smooth the weekend was and how everything was organized. We are so grateful to Mike for all of his recommendations - including our beautiful venue, The Graduate Providence (formerly the Biltmore). We were absolutely convinced we did not want to get married in a hotel- but one look at the hotel's beautiful lobby and Mike showed us that he knew exactly what we wanted... even if we didn't! There are so many components to planning an event that my husband and I had no idea went into a successful day - Mike was there to organize it all, and everything went off without a hitch! It was a perfect weekend, and Mike made sure of that. All of the vendors he recommended were so helpful and many went above and beyond what we expected. If you are debating whether or not you need a planner for your wedding (or event)... you do! Trust me. Planning successful events is truly a full-time job. And if you already know you need a planner... hire Mike!! He is so flexible, always cheerful, and could not have organized a better weekend for us. THANK YOU, MIKE! Hi, this is the groom, Ted. I count Michael as one of my most favorite people on the earth for the reasons below. From the very first zoom where my now wife met Michael, we knew he was our guy and our wedding was going to be everything we dreamt it to be.
We were heavily involved in the process of planning the wedding and with Michael’s unconditional support, nurturing diligence and sage guidance we were able to navigate every twist and turn that planning a wedding “these days” could throw our way. As a result, we, our families, and our friends were actually able to enjoy our wedding without having to worry about last minute details because of Michael’s beautifully meticulous planning and operational excellence.
His process was truly immersive and collaborative which we really enjoyed. It was a truly perfect balance of documented subtleties that truly made the difference day of, yet keeping the high level vision as a guiding force. We are so proud of the wedding that we planned with Michael.
If you take anything away from this review, please take this: working with Michael was the utmost pleasure. Even at the most "challenging" times, he made everything seem doable and kept us looking forward. Our families were so smitten and impressed with how the weekend went, and I have so many images of him going above and beyond and I'll never forget it.
Any words that we’ve put here are certainly not enough to fully encompass our deep gratitude for everything that Michael has done for us.

Having Michael assist in planning our wedding was the best decision we could’ve possibly made. Michael gave us a true personal experience. He took our ideas and our story and brought it to life for us, our family and friends! He was available to us and through this journey became part of the family. Michael left no stone unturned. He is organized, creative & thorough. When I looked around on the day of our wedding, it was beautiful and perfect and I didn’t have to think about anything other than enjoying myself. -

My husband and decided to find a wedding coordinator when we canceled our original wedding plans due to Covid and decided to downsize to a small backyard wedding. Michael was recommended to us by our wedding caterer and we are so grateful that he was. From the beginning we could tell that Michael was not only very thorough but that he truly cared that we felt comfortable and happy with the result. In the days leading up to the Michael made sure everything was in place with our vendors and even planned for the unexpected. The day of the wedding, Michael felt like family. It felt great to see all of our hard work together come to fruition and Michael seemed truly happy for us on our big day. And when those unexpected moments occurred, Michael made sure they were not only taken care of but that we didn’t have to stress about them. Where to begin!
Michael was the consummate professional during the planning process for our wedding. His meticulous attention to detail, productive goal setting, and ability to provide creative ideas to bring our wedding to life saved us so much time and energy. He couldn't have been more excited to be a part of the process and took the time to understand us individually and as a couple in order to come up with the best solutions to the problems we faced.
Nothing speaks to the value he brought more than to the fact that I had zero worries during the wedding day. All the small details/coordination between vendors the and execution of certain tasks were all handled flawlessly. My wife and I got to enjoy our day together instead of having to worry about the small stuff and that is something we will cherish forever!

Hiring Michael as our wedding planner was the best decision we made through this entire process. Not only is he professional, insightful, creative, and organized..he is fun, present and cares so deeply about pulling together the perfect day. He truly has a passion for this type of work and for making people's dreams come true. He made ours come true this past Saturday.
We got married at my family's barn which was just that...a barn. He transformed a piece of property into everything we dreamed it would be and so much more. He was there from the beginning, giving us ideas and helping us find the perfect vendors that were right for us. Michael was so in tune with us and learned right away exactly what we wanted out of our wedding.
We would look forward to each meeting because he made them so fun. Michael is not only an amazing wedding planner, but he is an amazing person that loves to laugh. My now-husband didn’t want to miss a meeting! You read that right!
He was there for whenever we needed from day one- giving vendors tours through the mud in the rainy season, helping us visualize and create centerpieces, and even hanging pictures on the walls a week before the wedding (I kid you not). He made a day-of schedule for each person in the wedding party. Even more importantly, he guided us through things that we would have never even thought of.
Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially if you are not doing it at a venue that typically holds weddings. I remember the day before the wedding Michael telling me that I was very calm…and I was! He took all of the stress away from my family and I..which allowed us to enjoy every moment. I remember him telling me, “Your only job from here on out is to relax and have fun”. I am so thankful for that.
Michael puts his name on his company for a reason, and that’s because he believes in the work he does. We have a lifelong friend in Michael and there aren’t enough words to thank him for all he has done. M, You are the BEST!!

Best Wedding Coordinator
It is with great gratitude and appreciation that we write this review. Though my husband and I had spent quite a bit of time planning for the big day, it wasn't until speaking with Michael that we realized how much we had not planned for. Micheal respectfully and kindly guided us in all the right directions.
My newlywed husband and I recently attended a wedding where there was a medical emergency, and no one knew what to do including the staff.
We can say with absolute confidence that if a similar situation had happened at our wedding Michael would have dealt with it and the service would not have been interrupted.
Additionally, some of our guests had preexisting physical and mental ailments to which Michael handled them with dignity and respect, everyone had a wonderful time.
Our only regret when working with Michael, is that we will not have the opportunity to work with him again. He created a personal experience to which we will remember for the rest of our lives. -

Mike is one of a kind, from the moment we met him we knew we couldn’t plan our day without him. Mike is absolutely outstanding at what he does, he kept us focused, paid attention to every little detail, and every time I thought I had missed a beat Mike already had it done.
Not only is he passionate about what he does, he is kind and genuine. Everything I mentioned of family and friends in conversations prior to their meeting, Mike remembered, that’s something very special. Every call, text, email Michael answered right away, every minor change, or quick panic attack Michael handled with ease and SO much excitement for our day.
My husband and I cannot express how grateful we are to have worked with Mike, without him our day would have been incomplete, and now that it’s over I’m sad I won’t be talking to him daily.

I never thought we needed a planner or coordinator, and I still don’t think we needed one- but we ABSOLUTELY needed a Mike, and having him with us on this journey was the best thing we could’ve done. Planning with him never felt like planning, it felt like chatting with a best friend who happens to have incredible ideas and (even better) is able to make those ideas reality. As an out-of-town bride, it was amazingly comforting to know that he was there 24/7 to answer random etiquette questions, help communicate with vendors and family members, say “OMG!!!!!” about getting married, and make sure we all had what we needed before we realized we needed it (seriously, I would open my mouth and he would already have what I was about to ask for). On the day-of he managed to be in 8 places at once to keep us on track with that calm excitement of his, and gave us the most perfect fairytale day. I could (and do) talk about Mike forever, but hire him and find out for yourself. It’ll be the best wedding decision you make! -

My husband and I find it hard to put into words how appreciative we are of Mike - for his professionalism, guidance, recommendations, and most of all, his friendship. With the help of Michael Marcoux Events, we were able to plan a day wedding (brunch food and all) so a lot of traditional elements were completely thrown out the window. Mike came up with most of the logistics so that it still felt like a wedding but 100% personalized to us. He kept us organized, calm, and was the reason our day ended up being absolutely perfect. I can't stress how much it meant to feel relaxed on my wedding day - I honestly had zero worries the day of thanks to Mike! We can't thank you enough and we can not recommend your company ENOUGH! Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. We're currently brainstorming ideas on how to hire your services again.. -

I was lucky enough to have Mike Marcoux by my side throughout the entire process of planning my wedding, as well as there with me and my husband on the best day of our lives, making sure that everything was perfect. And it was absolutely PERFECT!! After our initial meeting and conversation with Mike, it was clear that he was listening carefully to what we wanted for our wedding, but more importantly, that he saw my vision for the day exactly as I did. Not only does he have impeccable taste and make spot on suggestions throughout planning, but Mike was also a blast to work with! Whether creating our own planning hashtags (#nofakecandles), looking at the many pictures I sent him over the months, or just sending a light hearted email to check in, I couldn’t dream of anyone better to have by my side than Mike! -

My Husband and I are both hospitality professionals in New York City. Our world revolves around making memorable moments for other people on a daily basis. When the time came to choose a location for our wedding we immediately chose Providence as it was where we first met while attending Johnson & Wales University. We made several trips to Providence and it became clear that even giving our experience and resources in the events world we needed someone on the ground in Rhode Island as we were 3 hours away. Soon we would come across Michael. It was clear from the beginning that Michael was our guy. Given the fact that we do this for a living, we were not an easy couple to deal with as you could imagine we set very high expectations. We wanted to push the envelope on many aspects of our wedding from the food and beverage and décor to the wedding venue itself. Pulling this off was no easy task. Many aspects of our wedding have never been done before at our venue. Michael literally went above and beyond. Michael answered every call, text and email no matter the time, and constantly put our minds at ease. He was also honest and told us when he thought something wasn’t going to work logistically or if he thought something would not look right in the space. But he didn’t just say ‘No’ – he worked with us, stayed on the phone for over 2 hours at 9PM on a Wednesday night, to talk through it with us and find alternative solutions. He didn’t just see dollar signs and ‘Yes’ us to death. Michael’s whole heart was in it and we could not have pulled this off from so far away without him. Michael had an ability to connect with us on another level. He made us feel like we were the only people that he was working with. On our wedding day Michael showed up at our venue long before he should have and I know this because as an event planner myself I made my future husband stop by the venue very early in the morning to ensure load in was going as planned but I did not need to. When he walked in and saw Michael our minds were at ease. Michael truly personalized the experience, and did not treat us like a number on an invoice. If we had to do it all over again we would do it with Michael. Michael was more than a wedding planner, he has become a lifelong friend. We cannot thank Michael enough for carrying the wedding of the century over the finish line. And yes it was the wedding of the century not season or year but century, all thanks to Michael Marcoux Events! -

Hire Mike!
Mike was the absolute best! From day one he was a professional and made us feel completely at ease. Mike was detail oriented, attentive, and made the entire process seamless. He provided suggestions in areas I was unsure of and gave incredible advice. It’s been a few months since our wedding, and our guests are still raving about how he made them feel like they were the most important person in the room. I can’t recommend enough how great Mike was and if I ever host an event again, he will be the first call I make. -
