Engagement photos & wedding photography

Michael is so easy to get along with and takes the awkwardness out of taking professional photos. He is SO talented and you are guaranteed to love your photos. Our photos are so unique and capture both our relationship and all of the fun that took place at our wedding. I am so thankful for Michael capturing moments we can look back on over the years and remember how beautiful our wedding day was. When I began planning my wedding I knew one of, if not THE most important thing was to capture each and every special moment- which meant I needed to find a great photographer. After contacting Michael David initially, I could tell it was already a match. The way he described his love for documenting weddings and the love between husband and wife was what initially spoke to me. He focused more on capturing the moment, then staging the moment... which was also really important and what I wanted my photos to reflect years down the line. Day of the wedding, Mike + team was SO SO attentive. Literally the nicest group of people, truly focusing on each and every detail of the day. Throughout the night Mike would go out of his way to ensure my husband and I were 100% satisfied, and this was more than just with our photography (asking if he could fill up our drinks or if we needed anything, etc). ABOVE AND BEYOND. Truly blew my expectations out of the water. AND, although we havent yet got our photos back, Mike would show us a few periodically throughout the wedding day/night to give us a glimpse of what was being captured... (of course leaving us anxiously wanting more and waiting for the day that we get to see all of the photos!!)
Needless to say, Mike is your guy. He is detail oriented, prompt, so kind and attentive and truly will exceed your expectations. He is the BEST!!! I am so grateful we got to share our wedding day with him!

Booking Mike to photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. I'm a TV producer and was very nervous about selecting a photographer and videographer for the big day. Just ask my husband who had to sit through my endless questions during countless interviews with vendors! One of the first things we noticed about Mike was his passion. He truly loves what he does -- and it shows! Thumbing through his portfolio, we instantly fell in love with how he captured emotion and his eye for candid shots. We also loved how vibrant and crisp his photos were. We also did an engagement shoot with Mike back in February in Jamestown. We live out of town and specifically flew in for the shoot. As luck would have it, it rained the entire weekend. Since our selected site for the shoot was outdoors, Mike quickly came up with a list of alternate sites. But our original location had sentimental value so he told us he'd be willing to shoot in the rain as long as we were game. So, we did our engagement shoot in the rain...and it poured! But it turned out to be one of the most memorable days. And our photos from that day are so unique. It's a testament to Mike - he's willing to do whatever it takes to get the best shots. When it came to our wedding -- Mike captured traditional photos but also looked for more creative angles and moments throughout the day. At one point he even broke out dancing with my Mom! (My family loved him!) We are so grateful we found someone as talented, passionate and creative as Mike. And we feel like we made a lifelong friend in the process.

Mike is AWESOME! The photos were an important aspect of the wedding for me, and I agonized over the decision. We met with Mike twice before officially booking him for our wedding. He answered and addressed all of our questions and concerns, as well as put my mind at ease. The quality of his pictures speak for themselves. They are beautiful, dynamic, candid, and captured all the beautiful, wonderful moments of our wedding. I can’t stop looking at them! Mike was a pleasure to work with. He is fun, considerate, genuine, and kept us laughing with his great sense of humor. I would highly recommend him to any couple looking to have the perfect pictures for their special day.

My husband and I cannot say enough about Mike. He is amazing at what he does and he has an eye like no other. His pictures always come out beautiful and it really doesn't matter where you are when he captures your photo it always comes out amazing. Upon meeting Mike for the first time, he greeted us with hot chocolate and was very friendly and made us feel at ease. It did not take long for us to make the decision to go with Mike. Our engagement session was very fun and flew by. He made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and made us laugh the entire time. On our wedding day he was very attentive and captured everything we asked for. He even added last minute ides like a beautiful shot of just my husband and I in a church pew and it came out absolutely gorgeous like out of a magazine. Mike is very prompt with answering e-mails and phone calls. I will admit I did experience some wedding panic moments in the last two weeks before the wedding and Mike helped me threw it all.

We couldn’t have been happier about having Mike as our wedding photography. From start to finish, he was responsive, attentive, flexible, and fun! Mike took absolutely beautiful photos of our wedding and he even photographed our pre-wedding tailgate in lieu of engagement photos. Since we planned our Boston wedding long distance, we were unable to meet Mike until the day before our wedding but we clicked with him immediately. On the day of our wedding, Mike was constantly checking in with my husband and me to make sure we were ok and to remind us that the day was about us, and to do what we wanted to do! Our wedding party and guests also raved about how great and fun he was. Mike worked with us to design a custom photo package that suited us and our budget, which was very a big relief after talking to many photographers whose set packages did not cut it. I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone looking for a great wedding photography in the Boston area!

Michael was a pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning process. He is so friendly, energetic and full of enthusiasm. Upon meeting him, you will be reassured that you have picked the ideal photographer for the job! Mike truly understands the value of love, friends and family (he is madly in love with his wife), which I think is very important, because he knows exactly what to look for when shooting couples. He makes great recommendations for pictures, and really captures the true moment. As a photographer, he makes you feel very comfortable as well, which is very important! I am so thankful I found Mike and we had him for our wedding. Our pictures are so special and came out SO AMAZING. My wedding was over a year ago so I am a little late with this review, however, it now allows me to emphasize how important it is to hire an amazing photographer. My husband and I agreed up front that a good photographer was really important to us so we cut corners in other areas of the planning process so that we could hire a photographer that would give us memories to last a life time. Yes cutting corners in other areas is going to cause many headaches and tough decisions but trust me Mike is worth it! I am not exaggerating in any way when I say that hiring Mike was the best decision that we made for our entire wedding. I look back at the pictures from that day quite often (ok daily if I am being honest) and every time it brings me back to what an amazing and special day it was. I am not a picture person at all I typically feel uncomfortable and awkward in front of a camera but Mike has this way of making a person feel so relaxed and comfortable in their own skin. A lot of wedding vendors today have become extremely complaisant and your wedding is just another day on the job and another paycheck for them. Mike is not one of those vendors, he will make you feel like your wedding is the most important thing he could be doing that day from the moment that he arrives to the second you drive off with your new spouse. If you still are not sure go to his website and check out his work, if you are like me you are thinking.. wow these are great but can he really make my DIY decor and rustic location look as amazing as these photos...the answer is absolutely!

When I began planning our wedding I knew that one thing I really wanted was an amazing photographer. I am quite shy so I needed someone who made me comfortable enough to look natural in pictures. Mike exceeded all of our expectations. During every meeting he was friendly and genuinely cared about you and your ideas. He is funny and can certainly make anyone laugh or do whatever he is looking for to get that amazing shot that he is envisioning. Throughout our wedding night he was attentive to us, always making sure we had anything we needed. He went above and beyond as not only a photographer but he became a friend through this process. Mike simply put, is outstanding at what he does! He has a way of making you feel really comfortable and at ease. Mike also has a fantastic personality and knows when to hit you with a joke to make you laugh to capture the shot! He is also super easy to work with and always accommodating! He always makes you feel like you are the most important thing that is going on at that moment. Personally, I don't think you could have a better photographer! I received SO many comments about how fantastic Mike was after the wedding from a number of our guests who found him not only very memorable and fun, but that he went above and beyond in so many ways. Aside from marrying my husband, Mike was the most memorable part of the day for me! He made everything seem easy, effortless, and captured every special shot and moment. My husband and I were lucky enough to meet Michael when he shot a family wedding two years ago. To say he does an amazing job is STILL an understatement. Michael is phenomenal. He is easy to work with, easy to talk to, and works with you on your budget to ensure you get the package you need. It rained all day on our wedding last week, and although we still had the time of our lives, we did not get any outdoor shots. Michael offered to take us out as soon as we could to shoot some outdoor photos, free of charge. Those photos came out beautiful, and it was completely worth it to get all dressed up again. I will recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer for ANYTHING from this point on!! Thank you Michael!!

From the start, Mike was an amazing photographer to work with. After putting in an inquiry on his website, I got a call back right away. He put me at ease, joking with me about the craze of wedding planning and offering up some advice from his recent marriage. He listened to what I wanted for my photographs and what kind of budget I had, and worked with me to come up with a package option that worked for us. Since we were having a destination wedding in Newport, RI, we didn't actually get to meet Mike until the day of the wedding. He showed up right on time and came in with a smile and a bunch of jokes to helped me to laugh and relax a bit. I'm not exactly a natural in front of the camera, but Mike offered suggestions. He spent a lot of time setting us up in different locations to give us lots of picture options. He captured the whole day for us, and the pictures came out great. We have some great family photos with my Nana that I will treasure forever and lots of hilarious candid shots of friends dancing the night away. Finally, we ordered a wedding album and two parent albums. It took forever for us to pick out the photos we wanted to use in each one, but once we did, Mike had the books made super fast. They are really nice quality. I really recommend Michael David Photography for your wedding. You will love the results.

Where do we even begin? We cannot say enough amazing things about Mike. Mike is like your long lost best friend, the high school comedian, & the best photographer ever all wrapped into one! Mike was recommended to us by a friend (also a photographer) who went to photography school with him. He came highly recommended & after being thoroughly impressed by his website, we gave him a call. Mike was enthusiastic and extremely accommodating. When he says his main goal is to make his clients happy, he means it! We live in New Haven, CT & Mike is out of Warwick, RI. Our wedding was planned to be in Old Saybrook, CT but he was willing to travel & even meet us face-to-face before we decided to hire him. We were looking for a photographer with a journalistic style instead of the traditional posed photos & Mike was a perfect match. We hit it off immediately & actually sat in Starbucks for close to 2 hours talking about what we were looking for, our story, his story, and everything in between. We hired him on the spot. We contracted to get 10 hours of coverage with 2 photographers & customized the album we received including a 2-hour engagement session which he traveled to New Haven for. He made us feel comfortable right away which showed in our pictures. They looked as if we were on a date & someone was sneaking photos of us - exactly what we were looking for! Our wedding day photos were no different. He captured the laughter, happy tears, smiles, crazy dance moves, details - all of it! We can literally relive our wedding through the pictures. Our contract promised us 3-400 photographs & Mike sent almost 800 completely edited only 4 weeks after the wedding! Then to our surprise, we received a package in the mail a couple weeks later with a wooden box with our pictures printed on the cover & the most amazing decorative USB drive with all of our images. Mike is a class-act & we hope to use him again in the future. You cannot go wrong! Hint hint - he has a Photo Booth too!

Words cannot describe how great Mike is! If you want gorgeous photos that you will cherish for a life time, you want to hire Michael David! I never thought that I could look as beautiful as I did on that day and he captured that to the fullest extent possible. He has wonderful ideas, takes amazing shots, and truly makes you feel like you are the only two people on the planet for your special day! He is extremely flexible when it comes to different photos you want to take too (we took like 10 jumping shots until we got the perfect one). Another bonus with Mike, is his amazing personality. He will make you feel comfortable with the camera, even if you think you aren't the most photogenic person, he will make you a photogenic person, I promise! He kept us on time and still made everything look flawless. I highly recommend the photo booth that he has too because our guests still cannot stop talking about how much fun it was. We ended up just using those photos as the "favors" for the guests and everyone loved that idea. YOU WANT TO HIRE HIM! Take an extremely happy brides advice, you won't regret it!

Michael and Trevor did an amazing job photographing our wedding! Their creativity, professionalism, and relaxed/fun personalities made our already perfect day even more perfect! My husband and I wanted a simple wedding. We’re not ones for super formal occasions. The groomsmen didn’t wear tuxes, the bridesmaids wore sundresses with flats and with the exception of my hair, I took a grand total of 5 minutes to get ready on our wedding day. I knew that I wanted Mike to photograph my wedding years before I had even gotten engaged. His work is and has always been beautiful. Truth be told, I was nervous that my wedding pictures wouldn’t be as beautiful. Our ceremony and reception weren’t in super elegant locations compared to all the rest of the pictures he’s done. The ceremony was in the church we grew up in and the reception was in our backyard. Yet, I was incredibly pleased with Mike’s work (as I knew I would be) He captured moments that I honestly thought that I could only save in my memory!! Only a true professional can capture such strong emotions like love and joy in its purest form like that. What’s more, Mike made me feel comfortable to be in front of the camera. Any other photographer would have probably heightened my awkwardness. My husband and I are eternally thankful to Mike for capturing the spirit of our wedding day. He can make beautiful pictures, even in a simple, informal, backyard setting.

Michael's professionalism and work ethic goes above and beyond to make sure his clients are happy. Although it rained on our wedding day, Michael was just as daring as we were to go outside in 40mph winds and rain hoping to get a couple outdoor shots. Our friends and family haven't stopped complimenting some of the outdoor shots he took and posted them early as a "sneak peek." From the engagement shoot to the wedding day he was always there when we needed him and put 110% effort into everything. Michael is fun and outgoing and taking pictures never felt awkward! We are so excited to see our wedding pictures from Michael because we know they are going to be beautiful!

Michael photographed our wedding on June 21, 2014 and we absolutely LOVED him. From the GORGEOUS "teaser" pictures he sent us days after our wedding to his professionalism and great work ethic, we couldn't of asked for a better team to have with us on our wedding day. Beginning to end Michael responded quickly and made us feel at ease with any question we had. On our wedding day they went above and beyond to photograph every detail that we wanted and constantly checked in on me and my husband to see if we needed anything throughout the whole night. We can't wait to receive our photos because we know they will be stunning. I've had many people in my bridal party say how great he was and how they want him when they get married!!! Mike and his team were absolutely the best! Not only did I receive beautiful pictures very promptly after my wedding but after almost a year, he has stayed in touch and been incredibly accommodating. Mike is still willing to go above and beyond to make sure that I get everything I need quickly. His responsiveness speaks volumes to his honest desire to make wedding photography a positive and effortless experience for his clients.

I would be remiss not to mention that Mike's first daughter was due to be born around the time of our wedding. He made sure to have photographers that he trusted with his own wedding on call in the event that he would have to miss our wedding, which we were comforted by. As it turned out, his daughter was born a few days before/day before our wedding. Even then, he made it to our wedding!! The only change was that the "getting ready" pictures were taken by his back up photographers who made us feel just as comfortable as Mike. Mike made it to the "first look" pictures, the ceremony and the reception. Not only did he make it to our wedding, he also had the photographers who took our "getting ready" pictures there with him the whole time, free of charge. I was impressed by his dedication to us as clients and incredibly grateful. He is the most reliable and dedicated photographer and I only have good things to say!

I also appreciated that Mike and his team were very good at taking the pictures we needed such as family pictures but also giving my husband and I space so that we could enjoy the day. At the end, we received all the shots I had wanted without feeling like I was taking pictures all day.

Overall, I can't imagine trusting anyone else with our wedding pictures. If I were to redo my wedding day, I would hands down choose Mike for our pictures again. He is truly the best out there! Best of all, looking back at the pictures, I'm immediately transported to that day! What more could I ask for?

Michael has been a good friend to my husband and I for years. We where overjoyed that he could photograph our wedding. The photos of our wedding came out beautifully! He captured so many great candid/action shots. He did such a great job that when it came to choosing our photos for the Wedding Album, it took us quite a long time to narrow it down to 50 photos. There were almost too many great photos to choose from!

You will not be disappointed if you hire Michael for your special event. He is first and formost an excellent photographer, but also he makes it a personal experience. He is very accommodating any time any place give him an idea of what you are looking for and he will make it happen. Michael was an amazing photographer!!! Having had a negative, bad experience with a different photographer, Michael made us feel at ease and gained his trust! On our wedding day he was on time and very efficient! Most of the day we didn't even realize he was there, it was as if he was a guest at our wedding! The second shooter was also great! Both of them even danced with us on the dance floor! One of my guests was so impressed with our photographer that they said "I hope they are still around when my children get married." I would highly recommend Michael and his team and I can't wait to see all my pictures :)

While planning our wedding last year, my husband and I always knew that beautiful and unique photography to document our day was a top priority for us. Mike was an old friend who I watched blossom as a photographer, and who I shamelessly stalked on Facebook for years as he would continuously post the beautiful masterpieces that he was creating for other couples. I admired his work always, and immediately dubbed him as a top choice when it came time to choosing our photographer. Mike was an absolute joy and pleasure to work with from the day we first got together to discuss the details of what we wanted from our wedding photography. He is fair, kind, accommodating, down to earth, flexible, comforting, and a blast to be around. He is exactly the kind of guy you want with you on the most important day of your life, and brings out the best, most natural version of you. He is nothing less than a master of his trade, and knows how to evoke emotion through photography that will make you look back on the finished product remembering every single moment that his camera captured. Michael was amazing before, during, and after the wedding. Picking him as our photographer was one of the best and easiest decisions we had to make for our big day. Mike is an amazing person all together and instantly you love him. I booked him for my engagement photos and wedding before even meeting him. He came all the way to NJ and he made us feel so comfortable during the engagement shoot that you couldn't wait for the wedding day! On our wedding day he showed up right when I was having a break down with something while getting ready and he was all smiles and laughter which brightened the whole mood.
After the wedding looking back...taking pictures with all of our close friends was definitely on top of the list of favorite moments. When we show his work to others their jaws drop in awe! If you are looking for a photographer to capture true emotion in a photo...Mike is your guy.

My wedding day was everything I could have imagined and dreamed of! My husband and I both owe all of this to Michael David Photography. From the moment Mike arrived he put me at an indescribable ease. He made me feel incredibly beautiful and relaxed as if I did not have a worry in the world. It was the greatest gift he could give me, because I arrived to Saint Peters Church with a glisten in my eye and could not get down that aisle quick enough I was so happy. During the ceremony you did not even know he was there, he was so effective and captured the most beautiful moments. Upon arriving at the reception there were some things that were not set up the way I had anticipated and he took complete control re-organizing the room to our liking. He acted the entire night as my wedding planner consistently checking in and making sure both my husband and I were happy. I truly could not say enough about how professional Mike is and how well taken care of we were the entire time!

Mike is a real up and coming talent in this industry. His ideas are fresh and fun, but his knowledge of lighting, angles, timing, editing and his professionalism are far beyond his years. In the planning process Mike thought of issues no one else had addressed and was always available to give advice or referrals. On our wedding day he made us feel completely comfortable and confident that he was capturing all the special moments and was so smooth, we forgot he was there. Since the day I met Mike, way before I was even close to being engaged, I knew I wanted him to be my wedding photographer. He just has that natural eye for a what makes an amazing picture and really knows how to capture the raw emotion of the moment. Also, he is probably one of the nicest, down-to-earth people that I know, and he has a great sense of humor. The whole experience was fun and he really makes you feel comfortable. Mike was truly a blessing for us at our wedding. First and foremost the quality of his work speaks for itself. The shots and the lighting he makes/uses are artistic and well done. Michael David was extremely professional and creative during all the meetings leading up to the wedding day. My husband and I knew Michael David was good but I don't think we knew just how good. The day of the wedding Michael and Seth made us feel comfortable, let us sneak some peeks at the pics and made sure we were eating/drinking. They really took care of us. They did an amazing job with our pictures so much so we are having a hard time picking which ones will go in our albums. Michael David and Seth are amazing photographers. We were so lucky to have them photograph our wedding. They captured every beautiful and funny moment of the wedding. We highly recommend Michael David to everyone!

It was such a pleasure having Michael as our wedding photographer. Not only does he have an unbelievable talent he is also a wonderful person. At our first meeting I knew we had found the perfect photographer for our wedding and I was right! Not only did he create and capture beautiful images he also made everyone feel so comfortable.

Every bride is both nervous and excited on their wedding day and he made the process that much more enjoyable by making the bridal party and myself laugh during the whole day. It was a pleasure to have him be a part of each process from the hair to the makeup to the actual ceremony.

In the package we purchased, my husband and I can choose 50 photos to go into a leather bound album and one photo to be printed on canvas. My wedding was about there months ago and I am still having a hard time just picking 50 photos! I am sure this is a dilemma all brides wouldn't mind having!

Last weekend Michael David donated his Snap Berry booth to an open house we were having for Per Caso Salon and Amy's Apples in smithfield. It was a huge hit! Michael and his wife were very professional and a lot of fun to work with. They made the photos so fun and they came out beautiful. They truly were very good quality while still having a traditional photobooth feel. We even got to play with tons of fun props (: I'll definitely be recommending this service to any friends with an upcoming wedding or event. So much fun, thank you!

Mike did our engagement photo shoots, as well as our wedding. We were completely satisfied with his work. He is a very talented photographer. Mike is a fantastic photographer and I will gladly recommend him to anyone that wants beautiful photographs of their special life moments. From the first day I met him, I could tell Mike was the perfect photographer for us. When I was explaining what style of photos I was looking for, he was just as excited as me. My husband loved his easy going and joking atmosphere. Mike manages to be a professional while making you smile the whole time.

Mike was a wonderful photographer to work with. His quality of work and samples were wonderful in aiding in our decision for picking package. Mike set up meetings with us at our convenience and the meetings were informative, profession yet had a casual relaxed feel. He was available to answer questions via email and phone at anytime. His portfolio was always available to review online. On the day of the big event, Mike was professional but made us feel at ease. I felt he knew my needs before I vocally expressed them. The shoots were fun and offered a variety of traditional and nontraditional poses. We had a blast and were are more than satisfied with the final product. If I could rank Mike a 10 out of 5 on each of these categories, I would. From the first time we spoke on the phone, I knew Mike was the right match for us. He is an incredible listener and really focused on what makes my husband and me "us," but he also brought a lot of unique and creative ideas to the table. Mike took the time to meet with us before the wedding at our ceremony location and block out potential shots, talk about the sun and shadows, and get to know us as a couple. I really appreciated that he made us "the bosses" and constantly encouraged us to give our ideas, but that he came to the table completely prepared and did an excellent job at managing bigger groups.

On the day of our wedding, Mike and his assistant were a perfect combination of "always there when I wanted a specific picture," but definitely not in the way. I loved watching both of them work; they snapped pictures of some incredible moments and I'm so grateful we hired Mike to capture the memories from our big day. I would encourage each bride reading this review to hire Mike - you will not regret it!

We can't say enough good things about Mike and his sidekick for the day, Brad. These two photographers were beyond amazing. The shots they got were heartstopping; and we haven't even seen the proofs yet! We got to see the photos in the raw as the night went on, and we couldn't have been any happier with the shots they got. They were fun, got really into everything, and were a pleasure to have around all day and night. The even snuck us out during dinner for a sunset photo session on the golf course. Well worth the 15 minutes, because everyone got to see the shots in full motion! We can't wait to see the final products, but the fun we had that day are definite great memories!

Pictures are a way to capture ones memories. After setting a wedding date, the first thing my husband, Tyler, and I wanted was a good photographer. We both agreed to not hire a videography team, so having a photographer was essential to capturing our day. We started viewing work from other photographers in the Rhode Island/New England area, when my brother and sister-in-law suggested we look at Michael David Photography. With the tough economy, Tyler and I also agreed to use vendors whom we had a connection with. (Florist lives across the street and caterer goes to same church as us). Michael and us went to the same church, but we did not know him well. Tyler and I viewed Michael’s work on his website www.michaeldavidphotography.com and fell in love with his work. His unique style and the way he is mindful of the personalities of the people he photographs made us quickly decide that we wanted him to be our photographer. We had a couple of meetings with Michael to go over details of our wedding. While in the meetings Michael asked us questions about what we like to do and he learned that Tyler and I are a go with the flow couple. On the day of the wedding Michael and his partner in crime Jen, were very professional, while remaining upbeat and energized. Michael was also excited about one picture idea he came up with. I recommend Michael David Photography to all of my family, friends, and newly engaged friends. Michael was AMAZING! We had booked a photographer in early stages of our wedding planning. Less than a month before our wedding, that photographer was no where to be found. Michael really took the time to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I love details, and he made sure to capture every detail of the day: from the subtlest decoration to the most important moments. Our pictures were not only beautiful, but fun and different.

One thing I really appreciated was him coming out to the farm we were getting married at to ensure being on time that day as well as prepare and look for potential photo spots.

We were very happy with our wedding pictures and the turn around time was so quick! We are very grateful for Michael's hard work and for our amazing wedding photos.

Mike was outstanding. He went to extreme lengths -- lying in the mud! -- to get great shots of our kids, and everyone has raved about the images.

Mike photographed our engagement shoot and will soon be photographing our wedding. He was awesome! We loved the pictures that he shot. He never once made me feel self conscience or uncomfortable and the pictures came out awesome! Mike is very professional and is great to work with. My fiance and I would highly recommend him.

Michael was simply a joy to work with and is so creative! He seeks to make your day extra special by capturing moments in time that will last for a lifetime. After having Michael shoot photos for our engagement pics and wedding we often seek out other opportunities for him to capture additional memories for us and every time we work with him we enjoy it all the more and see he gets better and better with his craft.
