Easy to work with and exactly what we were looking for

We did not want a story-esque wedding video and wanted to prioritize being able to watch the ceremony, important dances, and toasts for years to come. Michael’s package gave us that with a short “music video”, a middle length ~40ish minute video, and then a 2 hour video with all the extended moments.
He captured all the moments we wanted and the videos gave a great highlight of our wedding! He worked with the officiant and DJ to have a bluetooth microphone during the ceremony so that the audio was clear, even with it being an outdoor ceremony.
Michael was very quick to turn around and send us our videos, he provided exactly what we were looking for, and more! He was able to provide a few “music videos” that were shorter highlights than we had in our agreement, and turns out we really enjoyed those! We did request some edits based on our favorite moments, and he has been quick to provide the updated edits!

A great choice!

Michael was amazing! He stepped in literally two weeks before our wedding as our initial vendor was unreliable. I'm thrilled he was available and fit us in under such short notice. He truly captured our day wonderfully. He showed up on time and was super easy to communicate with beforehand. He answers emails in a timely manner and keeps you totally informed. After the wedding he was quick to provide the film and has been incredibly responsive to any feedback I have. 10/10 recommend working with Michael. The value for the imagery is undeniable.

Incredible experience!!

Not only was he amazing at the time of my wedding but after 9 years when I lost the footage I reached out and without hesitation Michael pulled it all out again for me. Even with my dad passing last year he put together a separate video of just footage of my dad from the wedding for me. Incredible guy. I can't thank him enough for saving my memories

Amazing wedding videos

We hired Mike as our wedding videographer. He created a highlights video and two longer videos - they are all great! The videos captured the essence and highlights of the day. We appreciated the quick turn-around on the videos. He was also very responsive to incorporating our feedback.

Look no further for your wedding videographer!!

Mike was recommended to me by a friend and he did not disappoint! He responded to my emails right away and was right on time. He worked seamlessly with my photographer and captured our wedding day beautifully! He got us our wedding videos super fast and they are wonderful! They captured every part of our big day! Mike even stayed an extra hour and a half to make sure he didn't miss anything! After our wedding he worked with us to make edits and compile the perfect wedding video and highlight video! He will make any edit or change you ask and was super flexible when it came to the perfect video! The video came out spectacular and I find myself constantly rewatching it and reliving our wedding day! I highly recommend Mike for your wedding day! He met all our expectations and more!

Great videographer! Do not hesitate to use!

My fiance and I had Michael video our wedding in October and he was awesome! He was very professional, prompt, courteous, and friendly. From our initial emails, to the day of the wedding, we felt like we were his only client. On the day of the wedding, we didn't even notice he was there (which is a sign of a good videographer), yet somehow he still got all the footage we wanted! He showed up on time, and was even willing to stay a bit later than scheduled in order to get all of the shots we wanted. We thought his pricing was very fair. Do not hesitate to use Michael for your event!

Perfect, perfect, perfect

PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT (and at a phenomenal price). That is the only way to describe our experience with Michael Brazda. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Michael, his professionalism, the quality of his work product, and how far your dollar goes with him. My wife and I were married April 13, 2019 in Annapolis, MD. We initially did not plan to hire a wedding videographer because of price and because we’ve all seen friends’ wedding videos where it looks like their Uncle Jack filmed the wedding with a 1980s’ handheld camcorder (that was my fear). My wife took the time to extensively research “budget-friendly” videographers. In all honesty, our top choice was unfortunately unavailable for our wedding. While Michael was our second choice (though almost first), it should have never been a question he was our guy. First, just go to his website and look at the amount of work product and time you receive for the pricing. Seriously, you cannot beat Michael’s pricing! Trust us, we did our homework. And, I have to say, the few selected videos on Michael’s website do not do his work justice. We believe our three videos from Michael are far superior to others in his price range (though we’re likely biased because it was our wedding).
We reached out to Michael only twice before the wedding after signing the contract. Michael was very responsive prior to signing the contract and remained so thereafter. During one conversation we had with Michael he described himself as providing a “Toyota” product at a “Toyota” price. I believe that is incorrect: Michael provided us a “Cadillac” treatment at a 1995 “Honda Civic” price. We especially feel that way after obtaining pricing from our friend’s wedding videographer who was amazing and had amazing sample videos on his website, but wanted over $3,500 just to provide us ultimately with a 3-5 minute video and the original footage from the night.
The day of the wedding Michael was prompt and “Johnny on the Spot” with videoing. Some reviews comment that Michael may be too close and uses a light, which is likely why Michael asked before the wedding how “interactive” we wanted him to be. Looking back at out videos we have said numerous times we cannot believe Michael got some of the video he did because we do not recall his presence during much of the day. We received no complaints about Michael being too close, using a light, etc.
Michael did do some impromptu requests for “say something to the camera.” Honestly, it caught us off guard, but if done at the right time it captures the moment. My only suggestion is maybe being aware of that beforehand and going into your day, but that is likely something every videographer does and can easily be edited out of the videos. It certainly was not a negative aspect of our experience, but just something to be made aware of.
We received out videos less than TWO WEEKS after our wedding. That alone is amazing to us. The videos were so well edited, it is clear how much time Michael put into the editing process. We received exactly what we hoped for, and video that we will watch for the rest of our lives. Michael captures every moment perfectly and we cannot express enough how satisfied we are with his work.
Because we know how difficult this process is to navigate for wedding couples, and because of how satisfied we are with our choice of Michael as our videographer, we are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding working with Michael. Great Wedding Video!

Michael did a great job with our wedding video! He really captured every part of our wedding day and so many small details which we were really happy about. He showed up on time the day of the wedding and was very easy to communicate with leading up to it. He was also very reasonable compared to other videographers that we looked at. It did take him about 12.5 weeks for us to get the final copy of everything and I did need to send him a few emails to follow up but he was in constant communication the whole time and explained that he was very busy. He also made sure we were happy with all of the edits before he sent us the final copy. We were very happy with his work and I would definitely recommend him for your upcoming wedding!

What can I say except I was beyond happy with Michael as my videographer! He arrived on time as scheduled and he began working immediately. One of the best things was that he blended in well. He wasn't in the way of anything and he got all of the best shots. One moment that he got was of myself and my sisters dancing. I highly recommend Michael Brazda as your wedding videographer. He did an amazing job capturing our wedding day! He was super easy to work with and it resulted in really amazing footage! We were on the fence about whether or not we needed videography but I'm so happy we hired him. It was one of the best vendor decisions. He really captured so many beautiful moments that could not be captured in stills. He did really great editing of the final pieces and great music selections and has a knack for capturing all the beauty and special moments of the day's events. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Michael. I emailed Michael about him being part of my wedding vendors and couldn't believe his response with pricing and packages. He offered exactly what I needed, plus more for a great price! He was responsive to my emails and answered all of my questions. I decided to add more time the day before the wedding and Michael, without hesitation said "no problem"! We were able to cover my getting ready all the way to the end of the reception. As for Michael's work- he got EVERYTHING! All I can say is for someone who really didn't feel the need for a video and argued with my Mom about this- I have watched my video 5 times!!! He caught all the moments I wanted to see again, that I didn't get to see and all of the moments of my friends and family having a great time. Michael was basically like a guest with a video camera- he didn't get in the way! He captured the moments without being in my face or my guests. He caught moments of people smiling at him and enjoying themselves. He was calm and kind. I would say, if you are looking for someone to video your wedding, you will not be disappointed with Michael. Michael was so great to work with - such a stress free experience! He was on time, very professional, and got all the shots - and more - that we wanted at our wedding. My mother and I just rewatched the raw footage recently and were talking about how we didn't even notice that he was around. I wanted the video to capture everyone walking down the aisle, but the church we got married at was very strict about where the photographers and videographers could be. Michael even called the church manager and wooed them into getting into a spot for the perfect shot. It is honestly amazing being able to relive the entire day since it goes by SO fast and Michael helped us capture it perfectly. He got a shot of my husband's grandmother dancing (she hasn't been able to walk without a cane in years and was dancing without one!) and that is a shot that we will cherish forever. Not to mention probably the best deal I found in all my research!

If you are debating between videographers go with Michael. He is awesome. My wife and I are very detailed with high expectations and he did not let us down. My wife was skeptical and needed a lot of convincing. However, looking back on the wedding, we both agree this was one of our best decisions. She said I was right about Michael and she never says I am right. Lol. We had already spent a lot of money on the wedding including hiring a photographer so my wife was not sold on adding a videographer. Although our photographer was great, he was in an accident and came late. Luckily Michael came early and made sure our entire day was captured. Video captures aspects that pictures can not such as your parents reactions and the fun time your guest are having. A lot is going on in a wedding and you can not be multiple places all at once. The wedding will also go by fast and Michael’s video allows you to relive the best aspects of the special day and focus on the highlights rather than the stressful parts. Plus relatives who can’t make it and if you have kids one day will all surely appreciate it. Michael uses the latest HD technology and great editing techniques to produce a high quality end product. We are so happy with Michael. It was hard to tell how things would go just based on our initial conversation, just like for anyone, but I went with my gut instinct. When considering different options, you want someone like Michael who is creative, talented, passionate, and knows he is good. Our initial proofs were fantastic. We had a few minor comments but he has been willing to work with us to get the video just right. We look forward to receiving the final video after all edits have been made. Michael has been exceptional thus far! I spoke with several videographers and did my due diligence before selecting one and I would pick Michael again without hesitation.

I am so happy we decided to get a videographer! We were debating whether it was something we should do since everything about the wedding was quickly adding up, but I can say it was definitely worth it. My grandma who couldn't attend was able to watch the long version and said she felt like she didn't miss anything. My family all loved watching the longer versions as well, and my friends and family love rewatching the music video version. My dad said it perfectly captured the feeling of the day, and I think many of the shots are better or at least different then the still photography, so there is definitely an additional value there when compared to just having a photo album. It is also so nice to have different length videos, specifically for the reasons above. I know we will want to re-watch the longer ones some day too, but for now, the short one always makes me smile. Michael was very helpful with making the edits I wanted and worked with me to get it just right. I would definitely recommend working with him and if you're wavering about video like I was, it is so worth it!

Excellent choice in videographer! We are continuing to work with him to develop the Highlights and Music Video, but the quality of the full-length video (2 hours 15 minutes) was stellar, and already cut together very nicely with good musical selections - I think he has a good ear for the music we played and found songs that fit in very well. I've watched it quite a few times with family, who enjoy being able to see everything again. We had a lot of musical performances and dancing that made it very worthwhile to have a quality video. If you're not sure about videography, I think it is very much worth it, and especially worth getting someone like Michael to shoot a very solid video that captures all the important parts of the day.

My husband I knew from the beginning of our wedding planning that we wanted a wedding videographer. We had heard from so many friends who had regretted not getting one, and the friends that did said it was the most valued keepsake they had from their wedding day. Initially, we booked a videographer through a large company, but the downside was that we wouldn't be able to meet or speak with our videographer until the day of the wedding. This was such a turn off, and we decided to cancel that contract and contact Michael Brazda. His website showed several films he had made from previous weddings that were exactly what we were looking for, not to mention the price was amazing for what was included.

Now that our wedding day is over and we've received our wedding film, I must say this was the best decision we could've made. The 2-hour full length film had every important part of our wedding, our vows, our speeches, dancing and everything in between. We have watched it many times, and cry and laugh so hard each time. We also get to work with Michael to make a highlight film to show all our friends and family. He is so accommodating and lets you choose all your own shots and music too. We cannot recommend him enough, for the price and quality of the wedding film, you won't regret I!

By the time Michael Brazda was mentioned to us, we had already done a lot of research on videographers based on friends’ recommendations and wedding websites. The rates for videographers are all over the place and we couldn’t use the rates as a factor for our decision. So we asked the wedding photographer for advice and she mentioned something very important to her as a photographer and it was that Michael was unobtrusive: there are moments that the photographer only has one shot at and some videographers can actually interfere. The fact that Michael’s rates were very reasonable and highly competitive and the sample videos posted on his website were very nice, made us decide to go with him. From the beginning Michael was very responsive, we communicated several days before the wedding to go over the final details and timeline and Michael arrived early and was there until the end. I know he was there because I have seen the long video (two hours) of the wedding from which the shorter highlight videos will be made. But he was totally unobtrusive to the point that my daughter said she never noticed him filming and was amazed that he had captured every moment, every dance, every significant detail! He is excellent! My husband said after watching the video “if there was ever any doubt about whether to hire a videographer, this video convinced me that we absolutely did the right thing”. The video is very high quality and the content is exactly what you want to keep in your memory. Forever. A videographer allows you to relive the wedding day in a way that nothing else does. It is the gift that keeps on giving...Everybody who has seen the video had the same reaction: they are in awe, emotional, and have nothing but compliments for Michael! I highly recommend Michael Brazda to anyone looking for a wedding videographer! My husband and I were not planning to have a videographer due to the high cost but decided a few months before the wedding that we really wanted a wedding video and we started to look for a more affordable company. We were not having any luck (everything was extremely expensive) until one of my coworkers sent an email out to a community group she belongs to asking for affordable videographers and Michael was recommended to her. I contacted Michael and looked at a few of the videos he had on his website and I could not believe the incredible costs of his packages for such high quality videos. His prices were much lower than other videographers I had researched and also offered a lot more (more coverage, more flexibility, longer videos, etc.). Michael was available so we booked him for our wedding date. Working with Michael before our wedding to go over things we were looking for in a videographer, venue regulations, etc. was super easy and on the day of our wedding Michael was great! He was fun to have around and half the time you did not even know he was filming. I have been to a lot of weddings where the videographer is really in your face and Michael was the complete opposite of that. When we saw the proof of our video after the wedding, we were amazed at how awesome the video was. Michael got everything we could have wanted on the video! He allowed me to make several edits to the video, choose songs I wanted played on the video, and add a few extra still images within the video. He was always willing to make one more edit here or there until we got the video exactly how I wanted it. My husband and I both feel that booking Michael as our videographer was one of the best wedding decisions we made. I would absolutely recommend Michael Brazda to anyone looking for a truly high quality wedding video at an affordable cost!

I don't even know where to begin. I just received my wedding highlight proof today and I am beyond pleased. I needed a videographer and it was pretty much very last minute (booked him one month out from my wedding). If you've done your research, it's almost impossible to find someone who is cheaper AND good. Luckily, my friend recommended him and the pricing packages were definitely in my budget (way below might I add). Simply put, he was affordable, his package included many more videos (highlight video and full length), longer hours that other videographers would charge you for after the contracted time, has experience with Chinese/Vietnamese weddings (lion dancing, the informality of Chinese restaurants, over 450+ people in my case) and he has a quick turnaround with amazing work. You won't be disappointed.

Michael Brazda did a phenomenal job of capturing our wedding. The video he edited was stunning in its quality and detail. He "knows" weddings - he was always in the right place at the right time to get the best view with no knowledge of what our ceremony would be like. He had a wireless microphone for me to wear so every word of the ceremony spoken by us and the officiant was crystal clear, as though he was standing right next to us. Michael also graciously worked with our photographers to make sure everyone could get an unobstructed view.

Michael was very professional throughout the whole process. He was very responsive to all of my emails, often responding within an hour, which I really appreciated. He put together the first video proof within a month, just as he promised, and made every change we requested. He showed up early on the day of the wedding and he didn't let the sweltering heat affect his work. We asked that he film our wedding ceremony and reception in the background as a sort of "outside observer" and he did just that - we hardly even noticed he was there.

Michael captured more details than both of our photographers combined did. When we realized there were certain photos that weren't taken but we wanted to have included in our album, Michael took high resolution still shots from his video and sent them to us so we could use them. That was above and beyond of him to do and we are so grateful he did that.

Getting a video for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. There were countless moments that my wife and I just didn't remember happening, as the whole day went by so fast. We are so happy we will be able to relive all the special moments and details of our wedding day through Michael's video for the rest of our lives. I would absolutely, without reservation, recommend Michael Brazda for anyone who wants a truly professional videographer to capture the memories of their most special day.

I originally did not think I was going to get a videographer for my wedding day due to budget. As the day got closer I worried I would regret this decision. From our first emails and phone calls with Michael, we were very impressed with his knowledge and honesty. He called himself a "budget videographer" but after working with him and seeing his videos, we would say the only thing budget about Michael's work is the price. He was extremely reasonable compared to so many of the other videographers, but we were extremely impressed with him! We purchased a package that had him film us in the hotel getting ready then to the church then around town for photos and then to the reception. It was an extremely long day but Michael never waivered in getting every shot. We were disappointed that a lot of our guests were not photographed by the photographer we had hired, but Michael made up for this by ensuring everyone was in our video. We cannot thank him enough for capturing the moments of our special day - it is something we will treasure forever!

Michael did the video for my daughters wedding this past August, 2014 and the quality is just stunning ! My wife and I and our entire family are very happy with the video - it's really lovely the way it's all put together. It's not just the unreal high-definition crystal-clear clarity of the video, the actual footage is really, really good - Michael is an expert with the camera and really knows how to shoot a great video that captures the moment - and the way its edited - the closeups, slow motion, music, and just the way it tells the story of our daughters wedding day is perfection, and we couldn't be happier. We just had our wedding about a week ago, so we haven't received our proof yet. However, Michael was wonderful during our wedding. You wouldn't even know he was there. He went above and beyond to make sure our shots would be great. Even doing some last minute sculpture with a hanger and scissor to get the wedding dress to hang in the right spot! Although my (now) husband and I were debating in the beginning of our wedding planning whether to hire a videographer, it was the one thing that I was very passionate about. I knew that the whole night would be a blur and I wanted to be able to watch our ceremony and reception after everything calmed down, but I also did not want to break the bank in hiring a great videographer. I’m so glad I found Michael! From the beginning, he was very responsive to my emails and questions and very reasonably priced, especially compared to all of the other video companies I was looking at. I saw his videos on his website and really liked what I saw.
We initially hired him to film for 8 hours but once we realized the timing of our wedding was changing, I simply emailed him and asked if we could do the unlimited package for only $100 more. It was not a problem. Along with our photographer, Michael took video of us getting ready in our hotel room and he filmed some really cute, casual interviews of my husband and me talking about how we met and our relationship, which will be so great to see.
Although we have not seen the finished product yet, we saw clips of the wedding ceremony while we were waiting for the reception to start and it looked wonderful. I can’t wait to see the finished product.

I’d highly recommend hiring Michael if you want a responsive videographer, quality work and reasonable prices.

I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said. From our initial phone consultation, I was pretty certain that this could be the videographer for us.

After speaking with Michael on the phone, we couldn't come up with a day and time to meet, so he said that his associate, Marc Fuller, could meet with us. It was as if the stars aligned and angels began singing. You see...Marc looks like he could be a part of my family. In fact, he reminds me a lot of my stepdad, so I instantly felt comfortable with him.

Their studio in SW is simply put: AWESOME! They have all of the latest computer equipment, and a huge viewing screen and comfy chairs. We probably spent well over an hour talking to Marc, explaining our vision, and seeing his work. No question seemed too annoying or repetitive, and by the first 15 minutes, we knew that we wanted him as our videographer.

We'd barely left the building before I called Michael to negotiate our contract. I didn't want to hurt his feelings, but I knew that Marc needed to be our guy on our wedding day. We kept in touch over the ensuing 5 months, with me keeping him abreast of each detail I added to our day so that he'd be ready to shoot.

On our wedding day, he spent a lot of time in my suite while we got ready, and he captured some of the most beautiful footage there. He was so unobtrusive that everyone was able to be who they are, and didn't play to the cameras. Their second shooter was also amazing, and we can't wait to receive the final edit of our video.

The highlight video that we received shortly after the wedding was STUNNING, and captured so many moments that I'd missed in my bridal fog.

Their prices are highly competitive, and their work is better than some others' whose work, to me, isn't as good.

I've been deejaying for almost 15 years and I believe Michael may be the best videographer I've worked with so far. At first I just thought he was one of the guests at the wedding taking pictures, until he came over and introduced himself and showed me some footage he had taken earlier. I was amazed at how clear and awesome the images appeared. When the party went into high gear, he encouraged me to use my lights and it really enhanced the images as he enthusiastically showed them to me. He is one of the most creative and professional videographers you're going to find and I highly recommend him!

If you're looking for a videographer that is non-intrusive, artistic, and a pleasure to work with Michael Brazda is the one to go with! Michael was very easy to work with and very receptive to what we wanted. Most videographers we researched were reluctant to give us just rough footage rather than a heavily edited highlights video, which was really what we wanted, but Michael was very amenable to this. I debated on a videographer for our wedding, but with so many of our out-pf-town family unable to attend, we decided it would be nice to have video to show them. Michael was very responsive to our emails and calls, and very flexible the day of our wedding. And very affordable! Can't wait to see our proofs and videos soon!

We went with package 2 that included a 6 hour coverage of our ceremony/reception & a 30 minute highlight of our wedding. The 30 minute video highlights is absolutely beautiful! Michael was kind/patient enough to make a few changes that both me and my husband wanted to include after reviewing it. We are so thankful to have been able to watch our entire wedding on video!

The video was really good quality and Michael was the best value videographer I found. They are sometimes a bit slow in following up with email communication and getting the video highlights to you.

Great value compared to other videographers, however I had to spend way to much time helping edit the video. I didn't appreciate how hands on I had to be, but others may like that they have a say in the final product.

There were a few things that bothered me. The biggest was that after I asked him (multiple times) to fade into the background as much possible (which he said was no problem) he stands about 10 feet from us during the ceremony so he's in all my guests' pictures, and he shined this incredibly bright light on us throughout the reception and was always 5 feet away... There were a few other small things but from the sounds of the other reviews it was probably a one time mistake.

We received the highlights video back 2 months late. I'm happy with it the way it turned out though. The only complaint I for the highlights video is the videographer missed half of my walk down the aisle. The full length video on the other hand is not that great. You can tell he was looking for 5-10 second clips and not capturing the night. It's very scattered and jumpy. There is no transition between each shot.

Update: After seeing my review Michael contacted me and was very much willing to work with me to make sure we were made as happy as possible and remedy what he could. I sincerely appreciate this and am happier with his services.

Buyer Beware: Experience from Hell

Highlights for those who don’t want to read the entire review: This film company is completely unprofessional and should be avoided at all costs. We never received our video, were lied to as to why it wasn’t sent, and followed months of negotiations (and legal representation) that yielded nothing with the film company involved being neither forthright nor cooperative throughout. They have caused much stress and heartbreak for my wife and I, and have cheated us out of a once in a lifetime memory.

Whole Review:

My wife and I found Brazda Films after reviewing several options based on reputation and rating in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area for our wedding in October 2019. The company was initially prompt in their communications and was able to meet with my wife and I over the phone prior to our wedding to discuss logistics and our questions. So far, so good. Fast forward to our wedding, and without prior advance notice, the backup videographer (who was cited in the contract) from a different production company in the DC area is instead the one shooting our ceremony/wedding. The filming is fine with some slight lighting issues with the equipment used, but my wife and I are enjoying the moment and not stressing on those details on our wedding day.

Jumping ahead to early December 2019, and Brazda Films has failed to meet the initial delivery date of late November for our digital highlights proof based on the signed contract. After contacting them, they state that it’s only 7-10 days more that they need to prep it all, and asks for music selections (which had been previously provided in October) for the video track. My wife and I provide the same tracks as before, and then we wait. December becomes January, 2019 becomes 2020, and we are still waiting for not just the highlights proof (now over six weeks late), but the other videos promised in our contract. We contact the company again; this time, they say the backup videographer who was present at the wedding has all our footage, and to contact him directly. This came across as odd to both my wife and I, but nevertheless we make multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach the other production company for our footage.

It’s now mid-January 2020, and we still do not have our video. Multiple messages to Brazda Films yield convoluted and long responses bordering on rambling, but all point to some breakdown between the company and the backup videographer...with our footage being held hostage as collateral. The company suggests my wife and I initiate Small Claims Court proceedings to compel the production company that has our footage to produce it. However, as my wife and I are both now beyond frustrated and very suspicious, I instead go to the courthouse to speak to a publicly available defender about which court avenue is best. This is where I find out Small Claims would not mean our video shall be produced, but only that we would receive financial damages if successful. Extremely annoyed at this point, we communicate to Brazda Films (now late January 2020, and some three full months post-wedding) that we will threaten Civil Action instead to resolve this. The company agrees to be a party named in the suit, and pledges in writing they will edit and compile everything once produced. This, unfortunately, is not the end of our problems.

It is now late February 2020. In our preliminary attempts to resolve this outside of a court setting, the production company that shot our footage opts to refuse cooperation and signals Brazda Films been untruthful in their accounting of the events through their legal counsel. Through back and forth communication with the production company holding our footage, we conclusively determine that there was, in fact, a business fall out and our video has now become ransom between the two companies. We communicate to Brazda Films that we wish to be reimbursed payment in full, and give them 5 business days to comply. Their response, in turn, is that they need more time (2-3 weeks to be exact) and will only refund us if we don’t write a bad review in the process. Through continued written exchanges, we agree to a reimbursement schedule to be completed by mid-March 2020. Brazda Films agrees, but in the process sends more rambling messages with the central goal of trying to convince my wife and I to not leave a review of this experience.

Moving along in the timeline, and it’s now mid-March 2020. The first two reimbursement dates have come and gone with no checks or money from Brazda Films. We send two messages to them in writing requesting when we should expect our money back. The company finally responds to say that due to the pandemic, they have had all events cancelled and can’t refund us at all. Mind you, our wedding was a) well before the pandemic and b) we had in writing as far back as January from the company that we would be repaid due to failure to complete our contract as written. We draw a deadline for repayment from the company, which they again miss and respond instead with a vague warning that reads more like a copy and paste from a Conspiracy Theory chat room than coherent thought. My wife and I then initiate clawback proceedings through PayPal, who were accommodating and successful in recouping some, but not all, of our money.

My wife and I then shift our attention from Brazda Films to the other production company, who claims to have our footage, yet through their representation will divulge neither the contents of our film nor the length of the footage. These negotiations start in April 2020, and stretch to an impasse as it becomes the summer and fall 2020. My wife and I in this process still have no idea what the footage entails, only that its length represents roughly two hours of shot footage from our wedding day, which is 90 minutes short of the minimum video shoot time cited in our contract. At that point, rather than acquire footage that would’ve been a blind acquisition, we walked away in December 2020…a full 14 months after our wedding footage was shot.

In conclusion, we never received our footage, both parties (main and backup production companies) were not forthright in the process, and we were left with only part of money back in our pockets and a lot of heartbreak and disappointment. We’d strongly suggest anyone considering MJB Productions, Michale Brazda Films, or any other videography enterprise they are connected to, to read this and understand the business practices they conduct before signing a contract.
