  Excellent experience at our wedding

  We were so happy we decided to hire The Michael Benson Band for our wedding. Michael was so easy to work with leading up to the event and they were very accommodating. They set the tone for the ceremony and brought so much energy to the reception. All of my guests had a blast.

  Great to work with, helped make our day a great celebration!

  We highly recommend the Michael Benson Band for anyone planning a wedding or event.  We originally booked the band for our May 2020 wedding and Michael was great at navigating the whole Covid wedding madness situation and we are so pleased that it all worked out in the end!
  
  The band was a pleasure to work with and we had clear and open communication while planning the wedding.  Darelle was not only an incredible singer, but she was amazing at helping keep the evening flowing, checking in with us and our day of coordinator making sure things were running on time as we wanted and she kept things moving smoothly and help us moved guests between the different parts of the evening.
  
  The band was absolutely brilliant and played a huge part in making the day unforgettable - great tunes, great singing and they were able to pick the right songs to match what was going on at the time. Guests are still talking about how incredible the band was, friends are wanting to plane events just to have the band play at them, the band was absolutely incredible!!

  Michael Benson Band Always Delivers!!

  We have been working with the Michael Benson Band for years now. They always put on an amazing show for our events. Every year we have multiple guests asking for their information and looking to book them for their events. I can't say enough great things about this wonderful group of musicians!

  Wow! Just Wow!

  Michael Benson and his band transformed our wedding from a celebration to an all out party! We are convinced that if the venue didn’t require us to leave by midnight our guests would have stayed on that dance floor all night long, dancing and singing along with Michael and the band. It’s not just the performance that sets Michael apart, it’s the entire experience. From the first time we reached out to Michael he made himself available, answered multiple back and forth emails and we spoke on the phone a few times to sort out the little details like first dance, father/son, etc… Michael and his band rocked every single aspect of the big day whether it was music for the ceremony, a remarkable saxophone at cocktail hour or rapping Jay-Z at 11pm while all the guests sang along! Almost every guest we spoke with in the weeks after our wedding commented on how awesome the band was. Thank you Michael for making our wedding so special, you really did exceed all of our expectations.

  Book the Michael Benson Band!

  My daughter's wedding was in July 2021 - the biggest compliment a MOB can give a wedding band is that they were enjoyed by ALL ages in attendance - literally everyone had a favorite genre of music played which allowed them to hit the dancefloor and have a memorable moment! We had asked for certain songs to be played (and/or not played), and Michael took our lists and created a fantastic experience - experienced professional emceeing also throughout the event. Polished group on all fronts - book as early as you can!

  The Perfect Band for our Wedding

  The Michael Benson band is an amazing group of musicians who sure know how to keep people entertained. Everyone was on the dance floor throughout the night and there was never a lull in the music. They were perfect from dinner music to being the MC and till the very last song. Guests are still talking about them weeks after our wedding! You must book them if they're available...it'll be the best and easiest decision you can make. We could not have been happier with our choice.

  Best wedding band in Seattle

  We used Michael Benson Band for our June 12th wedding at Newcastle Golf Club. We had to postpone our wedding due to covid and Michael was extremely flexible and understanding. His band did such a great job and even saved the day when our officiant’s mic went out (we used Newcastle's AV for her mic) and Michael benson who was there to play our ceremony music ran up to the front with a working mic for us to use.

  Top Class, Top Notch!

  This band made the first big party for all of our guests since pre-COVID... the party of a lifetime! We put their flexibility to the test with COVID shifts over two years, and they rose to the occasion every time with grace. Then they nailed it! This band is better than a dream come true, they literally played the crowd as if they knew every song that could bring out the happy in each and every person: dancing, smiling, and loving on each other!

  Michael benson band - a class act that will elevate your wedding reception to exceptional!

  Our daughter and son in law were intent on one thing as they planned their wedding; they wanted a live band! We interviewed and listened to a variety of different local bands; hands down MBB was the one that our kids wanted (and we agreed)! Michael Benson is professional and very responsive to his clients. He put together a beautiful set of dinner music which was an elegant treat for our reception guests and then had everyone immediately on the dance floor when dinner ended. The band is high energy and super talented; yes Michael Benson can even rap!! On top of that they are a class act; they even wore tuxedos to our daughter's Black Tie wedding. They kept our guests entertained the entire evening and also did a fabulous job of emceeing the events of the evening.
  If you're going to splurge on anything, Michael Benson Band is a must. Having a live band elevates the entire event. Thanks Michael Benson Band for making our daughter's wedding reception a fun and memorable evening!

  Fantastic band, packed dance floor

  A great band was a non-negotiable for our wedding and we actually booked the Michael Benson Band before we had a venue! And we were SO GLAD that we did - they are the best bad we've seen among all of the weddings we've been to. The dance floor was packed the whole night and the guests raved about them for weeks afterwards. During the planning process, they were super responsive, learned selected songs for us and made everything as easy as possible. We would whole-heartedly recommend them to any couple looking for a great wedding band - they are worth prioritizing over everything else.

  The best dance band!

  I have been a Wedding Planner/Coordinator in the Seattle area for over thirty years now and have planned more weddings than I can count, some of them low key and others very high profile. From a Planner’s perspective there are two vendor types, the back-end, which includes the catering, linens, dishes, bar and other rentals and the front-end, which is typically the band, florist and other entertainment. While all are equally important it is the band that drives the energy of the reception and the Michael Benson Band is by far the top band in Seattle.
  
  Michael and his band understand the flow of a wedding, know what music to play and when to play it and he keeps the dance floor packed. The variety of his music is unsurpassed and he will keep the over 50 crowd as equally entertained as the 20 something people at your wedding.
  
  Michael and his band are super entertaining, super fun and he is a pleasure to work with but by no means should you take just my word for it. Please look at his other reviews from his past brides and grooms and you’ll see how happy they were.

  Hot dance band - Unforgettable

  Michael was fantastic to work with and I really appreciated them playing for our wedding. People just danced the night away and even danced during the cocktail hour after the ceremony. If you want q truly professional band to play your wedding this is it. At the time of hire we had a a little sticker shock but would not hesitate to hire them again as they provide the full service and so professional. The lead singer in Michael's absence used to sing back up for names you would know!

  Michael was fantastic to work with and I really appreciated them playing for our wedding. People just danced the night away and even danced during the cocktail hour after the ceremony. If you want q truly professional band to play your wedding this is it.   With all the many fine bands there are to choose from in New York, some of my friends were puzzled when I flew a band in all the way from Seattle for my daughter's wedding. But I had heard the Michael Benson Band play, and from that night on, I knew that when my daughter got married, that band would be my choice. Every band member is a skilled instrumentalist, and together they pack a bigger sound that you would think five people could possibly produce. They are equally at home playing jazz classics over dinner, or playing rock classics for dancing. Their playlist of hundreds of songs encompasses tunes for every age and taste. Most importantly of all, they genuinely enjoy themselves. Their enthusiasm helps get everyone out on the dance floor and gives the evening an indelible air of joy and celebration. Bandleader Michael Benson is an excellent vocalist as well a master at the keyboard. He is also well-spoken, lively and upbeat, which means he is a superb master of ceremonies-not something every musician can say. He is also very good at managing the business of the band, which means he is a pleasure for parents and wedding planners to work with. We were able simply to give him a date and some general idea of the music we wanted and leave the rest up to him. The result was a flawless performance, the climax of a day which my daughter said was the best day of her life. I don't think there is a better recommendation than that. There is certainly no more that a father of the bride could ask of a band.

  When my daughter told my husband and I that she was officially engaged, we told her that there was one non-negotiable item in planning the wedding---she had to have live musicians. When the couple found The Michael Benson Band, the bride and groom knew that live music was the right decision. They had gone to listen to many of the local bands, but felt that Michael's band was the best of the best. When Michael's Band played at the wedding, the dance floor stayed crowded throughout the night until the last song. That is how much energy the band infused into the guests. All the guests were enjoying great music and lyrics and just having a good time in general. Michael Benson's band can play anything. For example, the bride was raised in Texas, so Michael was asked to play the Cotton Eyed Joe. The band had never heard of the song, but Michael was game to learn it and did learn it----and the band nailed it. As the song began, the guests donned their white cowboy hats and hit the dance floor while four of the bride's guests, who were sisters, lead the guests though the steps of the line dance. The band kept everyone going as the song played faster and faster. It really was an awesome moment, but that is how the Michael Benson Band does things. Very well. Everyone had such a good time at the wedding and loved the band. Thank you, Michael. You did everything you promised and people that came to the wedding from all over the country still talk about your great music!

  Michael Benson Band is amazing! They are so professional and great at what they do. If you are deciding between a band and a DJ, go with a band - and go with Michael Benson. It brought our guests whole wedding experience to the next level. MBB did our ceremony piano music, dinner background music, and reception/dance music. I wouldn't change a thing! By far the best wedding band in Seattle.

  It's hard to describe exactly what the Michael Benson Band brings to your wedding. Along with being totally professional, there is just a je ne said quois about them - they know how to bring the party! They are worth every single penny that you will spend on them - their versatility and enthusiasm is enough to create a truly one-of-a-kind wedding experience. For those who worry about not having all the songs that a DJ would have at their disposal, their repertoire is absolutely phenomenal. If by chance there is a song you really want that they don't play, you can request to have it played during the set breaks so you can be sure it will come on. For me, the music was a huge part of the wedding experience because I really just wanted everyone to dance and have a good time and with the MBB it was everything I could have hoped for. There's a reason they have been consistently voted the best wedding band in Seattle and I recommend them 1000% to everybody who can make it work for their budget.

  Amazing - everything everyone says is true. They are busy and booked for a reason. We loved every minute of every song that they played and people all email or tell me about how mesmerized they were by his repertoire and talent. It made our wedding night and I would not hesitate to raise your budget, change your date, book this band!

  Live music for a wedding is a definite must and MBB is the way to go! They not only accommodated all of our song requests but they also got the party going and kept it moving the whole night.

  We LOVED Michael Benson! Everyone danced all night long and the band totally made the reception, most fun a lot of my attendees have ever had at a wedding- thanks to Michael Benson! Can't wait to have another party with them playing!!!

  AMAZING! everyone is still talking about how awesome this band was. Michael was a dream to work with. i wasnt the slightest bit worried about anything with them. During his breaks he would come find me to make sure the band was playing what we wanted to hear. i cant say enough great things about this band. They are so good our friends booked them the very next day for their wedding next year.

  Having a live band is key at a reception. All of our guests were so impressed with the band and had a great time dancing. When we look back on our wedding day, we always think of the band and how entertaining they are. They are pricey but your wedding comes down to entertainment for your guests. If you have good entertainment, your wedding will be remembered by all.

We searched websites after website and listened to sound bites after sound bites - - And then we found the Michael Benson Band - - These dudes are seriously amazing. Their talent crosses every genre of music. Our reception was a little bit of Oldies, Sambas, Blues, to Eminem, Madonna, and JT. Guests didn’t have a choice to sit – and they haven’t stopped talking about how wonderful the music was throughout the evening.
