Island Mike is the BEST!
We originally contacted Island Mike via email from his website. He was very responsive and helpful. He provided clear instructions for how to obtain our marriage license, helpful hints about travel to USVI, and recommendations for things to do while there. Every interaction was professional and informative. We wanted a sweet simple wedding at sunset with just the two of us and Island. Mike provided exactly that. Our ceremony took place around 5:30 at Limetree Beach on St. Thomas. He took some amazing pictures and enjoyed the moment with us. I highly recommend him. -

If you plan on getting married in the USVI, there is no better officiant than Island Mike. It is as if the gods themselves put him on earth to do just one job. Perform Weddings. From the very first video we saw of him drinking rum on his advertisement, we knew we had our man. Don't let the rum fool you, he was 110% professional the entire time. He walked us through getting our marriage license, helped arrange transportation, recommended venue's (we chose Sapphire Beach, and it was amazing). We had come in on a cruise ship, and had a very tight window, but due to Island Mike's skill, knowledge, and tutelage, everything went PERFCETLY. I swear, I think he even was able to control the weather, although that has not been confirmed. After our wedding we went for tacos at Greengo's in downtown St Thomas, and Island Mike is so famous, that even our waitress was married by him years earlier. (That is a 100% TRUE story) And Greengo's has the best tacos I have ever had! So to sum it all up, if you are planning on getting married, espoused, united, joined or hitched, Island Mike is your man! -

Working with island Mike was an absolute breeze! He made everything so easy (almost too easy..... we weren't sure he was real). We were nervous about planning a wedding in a place we had never been, but Mike made the experience so enjoyable. We sent him some inspiration pictures and he took it from there. Mike was professional and we absolutely fell in love with his personality. For everything you get when booking one of his wedding packages, the price is unmatched. The website walks through the exact steps you need to take to get married in the Virgin Islands. He also shared places to stay, things to do, transportation, and numerous wedding tips. Mike was flexible with date and time changes due to traveling to the islands via cruise ship.
We did have an issue getting copies of our marriage license (an issue with the courthouse), that Mike helped resolve quickly! Booking with Mike will be the best decision you'll make! -

Over the Top!
From the very first response, Island Mike was there every step of the way and replied to our questions lightning fast. We planned an elopement in less than two months and it could not have more perfect due in big part to Mike making sure we were covered. We decided on Sapphire Beach and when we finally got to meet in person, we could not have been more thrilled with how everything went. From the attention to details to an amazing personality (just the type of person we wanted to marry us), you can't go wrong with the decision to elope to St. Thomas with Mike's. If you want to have an easy, wonderful and no fuss process - this is for you! Our experience matched everything we were looking for for our big day! So lucky! Oh, and Mick, our photographer was awesome, too! -

“Island Mike” has everything you would need for a beach wedding. No vendor contact is needed, his packages include everything plus any add-ons you could think of. The photographer, videographer, hairstylist/makeup artist and cake were beyond expectation. He has extremely reasonable prices, is very communicative and is all around a great guy with a good sense of humor. We were married on Pretty Klip Point at Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas. It’s absolutely stunning and I can’t suggest that location enough. Thanks for a stress free wedding Mike, it was a dream! -

Mike and the photographers at Mango Works made our wedding for two the perfect experience. Mike has been awesome to work with throughout the planning and it could not have been easier. Everything was set up beautifully for us whenever we arrived at the beach and we were greeted with giant smiles. The photographers put us completely at ease and did an amazing job with our photographs. The palm frond and conch shell aisle with the archway along with the delicious cake and champagne added just the right touches. It was absolutley perfect and we couldn't be happier. -

If my husband or I loved Mike any more, we would probably have to marry him, and that would be weird. If I could write this all in caps and emojis I would, but again, that would be weird, lol. I reached out to Mike (because of all his awesome reviews) after our mountaintop wedding in Colorado was canceled per the 2020 virus that shall not be named. We decided we would just elope at the honeymoon destination, St. John USVI. With humor and confidence, Mike helped us through quickly trying to patch together details for another wedding and court system. He recommended everyone else we used for photography (Chad Hay!), cake (Liz at Queen of Tarts), music, helicopter, and make up which made a stressful process SO MUCH EASIER! My only regret is that I took so long to write this review (it has been a rough year ok? The delay does not reflect how much we truly appreciate Mike and Chad!). We arrived as the island went into lockdown so the courthouse was closed and we couldn't pick up our marriage license- we thought perhaps we just went on an expensive vacation to not even get married. The courthouse recording at 9am said they were closed, but shortly after that Mike let us know that by some miracle the courthouse staff would be willing to let us sign papers if we stood outside and they could swear us in from a distance, so we were able to be married after all!!! The next day (8/18/2020) Mike kept my husband calm while I was accidentally locked out of our hotel, without cell service, and not picked up by the taxi on time- meaning I was late to my own wedding as my husband half joked I had fled the island!! When I arrived, frazzled, windblown (thanks open-air taxi...), and a little sweaty, Mike calmly told me to breathe and that everything was fine, which helped a lot with my guilt (and sweating!). He was insanely patient while I composed myself and got ready to walk down a socially distanced, open-air, beach aisle. To this day, my husband loves the pictures with Mike in them the most, as a reminder that we couldn't have pulled off such a feat without the help of genuinely amazing people. My favorites are us laughing like crazy during the ceremony, truly enjoying the moment when Mike said in a marriage "mistakes will happen" after the debacle of a morning I had just to get to the wedding. Mike and Chad even made my underwater picture dreams come true! We had SO MUCH FUN meeting Chad the next day for an underwater picture session and some really great memories. Trust me, if you're getting married you want Mike and his team on your team!!!! -

So easy! Mike was so professional yet relaxed through the whole process! He really put me at ease since my chosen wedding day turned out to be super rainy. I had to change my venue from the beach to a villa last second and he was soooo accommodating, like it was no big deal! Our Wedding...
Island Mike was absolutely wonderful. I got his number from a friend and right away I fell in love with his personality and his service. He was always willing to assist no matter what. At my wedding ceremony which was held at Magens Bay beach he called right before the wedding to make sure that I was ready and to me that was the sweetest thing. The Perfect Wedding at Megans Bay!
From the very first email Michael was very helpful in answering our questions. When you are planning a destination wedding online of course you may be a little nervous, not with Michael. He helped us plan and prepare us for everything. Michael answered all our questions in regards to preparing the documents for the marriage license, making all the arrangements for picking us up at the cruise port, and getting us in and out of Courthouse very quickly. Upon arriving at Megan's Bay the photographer Chad had everything set up on the beach for the ceremony, and our steel pan man provided great music for the ceremony. Our wedding was very small consisting of us and another couple who stood up with us. The ceremony that Michael perform was very well prepared and just made our wedding day complete. After the ceremony we had plenty of time to get all the photos that we wanted and had our champagne toast. Michael would have provided transportation back to the cruise ship however, we decided to spend the day at the beach. Megan's Bay has facilities to change your cloths which was very clean. Within just a short time after returning home we received our certified copy of our wedding license and then just a few days later we received our link to all of your wedding day photos which turned great! We would highly recommend Island Mike to perform your wedding. There is nothing Michael left our and he made our wedding day PERFECT! -

Excellent, stress free wedding!
Michael performed our wedding back in October and did a phenomenal job! We booked with him really far out and touched base with him via email periodically throughout the year leading up to the official day (on top of the emails he sends with tips and advice after booking with him). I didn’t have many questions leading up to the wedding but he was always really responsive. A couple of weeks prior to the wedding, I started to (slightly) worry that there might have been some human error: maybe our wedding license application hadn’t made it to the St. Thomas courthouse and what if Michael didn’t show up to marry us? Needless to say there was definitely no need to worry, the courthouse had received our application and everything was super easy when we went to pick up our license and of course, day of the wedding, Michael was right on time to take us to our location! Initially, I was thinking about getting married on Magens but after Michael’s suggestion settled on Lindquist and it definitely didn’t disappoint; it was well worth the site fee! The ceremony itself couldn’t have gone better, it was absolutely the perfect wedding and I wouldn’t change one thing about it! Long story short, hiring Michael to officiate our wedding made the semantics of planning a destination wedding a breeze and he was the perfect choice of officiant. -

Island Mike was perfection from the very beginning. He helped us plan our wedding through email.... about 90-100 email exchanges!!!!! I never once doubted everything would be exactly as discussed. We booked island Mike about a year in advance. We only had my sister and brother in law as witnesses so there was no big bridal party. Just the four of us. We did get the cake, upgraded flowers, photographer, videographer, and violinist. Since we were eloping, we wanted to share our wedding once we shared our news so we decided to go with the videographer. Something I won’t regret since we can cherish it forever.
Despite the fact of never actually speaking to island Mike until a few days before the wedding, I never doubted everything would be perfect. Every review you find on Island Mike is absolutely true. He is responsive, efficient, Trustworthy, affordable, and over all excellent at what he does. He made our wedding the absolute best. A day we will forever remember. He exceeded every expectation and then some.
When you decide to book Island Mike, it will be the best decision you ever made. I know it was our best decision! -

We just had the most amazingly perfect wedding ever! Michael was the most remarkable person and officiator ever!!! We loved working with him and HIGHLY suggest using him for your ceremony. He will help you through the entire process and even give you some tips along the way to make your day the best ever. We were picked up promptly from our cruise and taken to the courthouse to complete our paperwork. Even the lady there said "Oh, you are gonna love Island Mike!” Then off to the beach. Michael met us with bouquet in hands and walked us down the beach to our spot. Michael was very professional yet still made us laugh and feel at ease. We loved working with Michael for our destination wedding! Michael is flexible, willing to answer any questions you might have about your wedding, and makes excellent recommendations. Oh my gosh, Mike was the best we could have asked for! He was playful and professional. Near the end of the ceremony he told us to just pause and take everything in, which we definitely will never forget. Our guests just fished over how wonderful (and quick) he was with his service. Fabulous, stress-free wedding planning
Don't be afraid to look at a wedding outside of the United States, if you hire an experienced planner in the islands. Michael was fabulous from day one. Everything was taken care of for us. We arrived by cruise ship and ended up getting off the ship 20 minutes early, but Michael was already there waiting for us. He took us to the courthouse to pick up our license, then to the beach we had chosen. He already had our flowers with him and the photographer joined us at the beach. Everything was perfect and I believe he pays very close attention when you speak with him to get a feel for what type of couple you are and how formal he should be. He struck the perfect note for us between the seriousness of the ceremony and throwing a few jokes in. I'm so glad we chose Michael for our officiant.... we wouldn't change a thing. -

Dream wedding in paradise
My now husband and I were toying with the idea of getting married in St Thomas after realizing we didn't want to do the big traditional american wedding. We knew we wanted to do a cruise, but didn't want to be married on the boat. After doing some research cruise weddings can be beautiful but very expensive.... So we started with google and quickly found island Mike.
I was incredibly hesitant to plan a wedding from so far away especially with someone I had never met. I emailed Mike and he quickly responded. I was also very worried about time and transportation for our group. We had a few phone calls during the planning process, Mike gave us some wonderful recommendations or he was able to handle it with his team. All we had to do was tell him what we wanted and he pretty much did the rest.
On the day of the wedding our boat docked and we met Mike and the Taxi guys with our group of 16 there. Mike took myself and my husband to deal with final court house documents. Then we met up with our group. I had told Mike I didn't want my husband to see me in the dress before the wedding so I would like to change at the beach. This was not a problem and luckily for me Lindquist beach has bathrooms.
The wedding itself went so smoothly and I couldn't have asked for anything better. It stopped raining just before the ceremony and the clouds broke just in time for photographs. The only thing I will say is that some of our photos where a bit hazy from the rain and the photographer needed to wipe his lenses.(you can tell in the photos when he did). Not too big of a deal though.
We also had a videographer, that mike recommended and she was fantastic.
I will say that this style of wedding is not for every bride! If you are one that wants to know every detail and control every aspect of your day this is not for you.
For my husband and I this was PERFECT, everything went off without a hitch!
I ABSOLUTELY recommend this for the couple that wants a low key but beautiful wedding in the USVI.

From the moment we started wedding planning to our actual arrival on St. Thomas was one year. Island Mike and I had been in contact with me the entire time. He answered every emailed question, set up a timeline (we came in on a cruise ship), arranged other vendors. The process was so easy and convenient. He was excellent to work with. From all those details, to finally being greeted by his smiling face and friendly hug, I knew we made the right decision. I would recommend Island Mike to anyone and everyone. I know it's not exactly easy to plan something in a place far away where I didn't live, but he made it happen. It was fun and enjoyable and not once did I stress. What I enjoyed about his wedding packages ( and what I've shared to some family and friends) is that I wasn't stuck with unnecessary or unwanted wedding items or decor. I only paid for what I wanted....chairs, musician, photographer. Where else can you do that??? That is what sold me on this idea, and of course having him be so easy to work with. -

We were thrilled to find Mike's online information. We were eloping and wanted a simple, meaningful ceremony on the beach at Cinnamon Bay. Mike didn't let us down and made the day stress free. Island Mike was one of the best decisions of our wedding! From the get-go he was super responsive. He would send follow up emails with all kinds of juicy information on St. Thomas and getting married there! They were so helpful. The day of, he showed up smiles and all and looked so professional. He gave an amazing and touching ceremony never reading off his card. I loved it. Would definitely recommend him. -

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! He is so friendly, funny, experienced and everything else you could want in an officiant. He could also be considered a wedding planner because he helped organize all of the vendors for the ceremony including flowers, cake, set-up, photography and more. The ceremony was perfect. I asked him to do it short and sweet and non-religious and he did exactly that. He definitely allows for customization. Honestly he is so awesome, I would hang out with him! We are so so so so so happy with his service, communication, and everything else he provided. Thank you so much Michael for making our special day so perfect! -

Amazing ceremony
Michael was great! He answered all my questions in a timely manner and was able to give recommendations for hair stylists, cake, and florists. It definitely was helpful in my planning process. The day of we arrived by cruise ship. After a morning of getting ready, Michael picked up my parents and I to take us to a Magens Bay. The rest of my guests rode by taxi. When we got there everything was set up ready to go. All I had to do was put on my dress ( restrooms were very clean). I loved every minute of it. It was simple but oh so beautiful. I would recommend Michael to everyone! He truly is awesome! -

I can’t tell you how Amazing our experience was with Island Mike! To be honest doing a destination wedding I was stressed to use an officiant that I didn’t really know but from the first phone call until we got on island and met Mike a few days before our wedding he made the process so easy! Mike made our ceremony so so special, he blew us away with how perfect our ceremony was! I seriously want to renew my vows just so I can have Island Mike as our officiant again! Trust me, he’s the best! -

Island Mike made this experience better than we could've possibly imagined. He took care of everything. He responded to us quickly while having no power after the hurricane, he answered all our questions, picked us up from the cruise port, took care of everything at the court house, made an incredible suggestion for our location (stunning and we didn't have any one else at the beach with us), reworked our vows as we requested, had a great photographer, and overall was just a cool, nice guy. He made us super comfortable as a same sex couple as he was excited at the opportunity to officiate for us. With the transportation to the court house, Lindquist beach, doing the ceremony, and pictures, we still had time to snag some beers at a local bar before getting back on the cruise ship! Lindquist beach was also well worth the extra cost for having a ceremony at a private park. Top notch experience. -

I changed my mind so many times over the corse of a year but he still managed to get everything right. I loved everything about my wedding day. The photographer and the videographer were extremely nice and prompt. The cake was delicious. He told me how it would go from the first email and that’s how it went. I did not disappoint me not one time. Thank you so much!

My parents continued to ask me about details and my response was always "Island Mike is taking care of it!". They were beyond impressed as well. The ceremony was beautiful in every way. Michael picked us up at port & he took us to the court house & took us to Magen’s Bay! He was so nice! He is absolutely amazing. The ceremony is PERFECT! We couldn’t have ask for anything any more perfect. I was so nervous that I was going to be disappointed as any Bride is, BUT it exceeded my expectations! Even my Husband said this was perfect!

Michelle Sent on 04/30/2018You know that age when all of your friends are stressed out and broke because they are getting married and even the simplest wedding seems to cost much more than it should? Well, my now-husband and I knew we wanted to get married, but we didn't want the headaches or empty wallets. We were in search of an affordable, reliable wedding officiant and photographer in a beautiful location, and that's what we got in Saint Thomas with Island Mike!
Island Mike made our big day the best! Right from the start, he was easy to communicate with via e-mail. There wasn't much we had to do to prepare which was great and stress-free! Day of, we didn't really know what to expect, but what we got as better than we imagined! The whole hour we spent on the beach was perfect. The ceremony was short and sweet - and we were extremely happy with the photographer from The Mango Works and the photos we received. If you want a relaxed wedding, especially if you're eloping like we did, I highly recommend the island of Saint Thomas and Island Mike!
PS we got married on Magen's Bay - highly recommend! Totally worth the $100 site fee!! -

Connie Sent on 04/16/2018Since this was not our first marriage, we were opting for something simple and intimate. After reading many reviews, Michael was our choice. His website explained everything anyone would need to know to get Married on St. Thomas. The process was so easy, following his explicit instructions. Michael arrived at the cruise pier to pick us up exactly at the time we were told. We proceeded to the court house to pick up our license, (which took all of 5 minutes), and we were off to the beach. Michael chose Magens Beach for us, which was absolutely beautiful, and performed a beautiful, intimate ceremony for just the two of us. This was the perfect start for the rest of our lives. Michael is the BEST!!

Tammy Sent on 04/15/2018We had booked our Wedding with Mike months ago. When he came time for the big day, he was there to greet us off the cruise ship. We did not have to wait for his arrive he was right on time. He was totally wonderful! We had told him we wanted a bouquet to include native island flower, the flowers were gorgeous! Everything was as we had wanted and pictured. Mike is so easy going, such a pleasure. We had also decided to do a FB Live video, Mike was fabulous with this adventure, he was checking the video to ensure it was still taping. If you have any doubts, DON'T, if we had to do it all over again we would definitely go with Mike!!! Contact him for your big day.

Pat Sent on 04/10/2018Ed and I were married by Island Mike on 3/21/18 at Magens Bay St Thomas. Mike took all the stress out of wedding planning. It was totally fun!! My Maid of Honor was in a wheelchair, but he arranged a beach wheelchair so she could take part in the ceremony. Also the photographer he arranged for us did a great job.

Carol Sent on 02/15/2018After planning our wedding with Mike in May and then seeing two hurricanes devastate the island we were a little concerned about having our wedding there. Mike kept assuring us all was well. We trusted him and are very glad we did. He made the process easy because he lined up the flowers, photographer, videographer and decor. Lindquist beach was beautiful on 12/30/17 , even just a few months after the hurricanes hit. Mike suggested the vendors for the cake and our hair. The hairdressers came to our condo on Saturday morning. We would not have changed a thing. As you can see by the photos, the view was breathtaking!

Trish Sent on 01/31/2018We got married on Megans Bay beach in St. Thomas on 09/03/17. Island Mike was amazing! He picked the perfect spot on the beach. From the months leading up to our wedding he was great in answering all of our questions & helping in any way he could. He even helped months after to make sure we got our marriage certificate & photos. The reason I mention that is because 3 days after we were married, Hurricane Irma devastated the island. The ceremony he preformed was absolutely perfect! The day was perfect! Everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend Island Mike! He has a great attitude, very professional & has a great sense of humor! Our photos were amazing too! If we ever renew our vows, we will definitely contact Island Mike! Thank you so much, Mike!
