From our very first conversation, she brought such professionalism, warmth, and care. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also an amazing listener and conversationalist—she made the whole getting-ready experience feel effortless and fun.
On the day of the wedding, Mia went above and beyond. She wasn’t just there to do hair and makeup—she was a steady, calming presence who made sure I looked and felt my absolute best. My hair waves and makeup were flawlessly executed and lasted all day and night. She even stayed onsite and was right there doing touch-ups in between photos—without ever missing a beat. I truly felt seen, heard, and so beautifully taken care of by her!
If you’re a bride looking for someone who can help you feel confident, cared for, and stunning on your big day, I can’t recommend Mia enough. She is an artist, a pro, and a total gem to have by your side. -

Best Wedding Glam Team!
Working with Mia was a wonderful experience. She is an amazing hair and makeup artists (HMUA) who cares about ensuring you and your crew look beautiful on your wedding day. Mia was recommended to me by my wedding photographer, and I knew after reviewing her work with other brides and during our first meeting that she was the HMUA for me! She is very easy going and funny which put me at ease. Mia and her crew are very skilled HMUAs. As a Black woman, it was important to me to wear my hair naturally curly at my wedding. I did not want to have to find two vendors (one for hair and one for makeup), so it was important to me that I found someone who could do both - and Mia delivered!! I can’t stress enough how beautiful I felt on my wedding day. Mia helped bring my vision for my bridal style to life!
Mia was very easy to communicate with throughout the process and was very easy to work with from an administrative/billing side. Contracting with her was easy and clear! Her pricing is affordable for the quality of the work.
I cannot recommend Mia enough! She is a great professional, fantastic HMUA, and a good person. If you want to look and feel beautiful on your wedding day, she is the perfect fit because she will deliver! -

5 Stars – A Dream to Work With!
I cannot recommend Mia and her team enough! As an out-of-state bride, I wasn’t able to schedule a trial before the wedding, which made me nervous. However, Mia absolutely nailed the look I envisioned on the very first try, and on one of the most important days of my life. She truly has a gift!
From our very first consultation, Mia was warm, personable, and felt like someone I had known for years. She instantly made me feel at ease, listened intently to my concerns, and offered thoughtful suggestions that helped bring my vision to life.
In the months leading up to the wedding, I experienced significant stress that even led to unexpected hair shedding. Mia went above and beyond to support me, not just as a stylist, but almost like a coach and friend. She shared hair and skincare tips to help me prepare and feel more confident, and her knowledge and empathy made all the difference.
On the wedding day, Mia and Nancy created a flawless, glowing look that was so me, elegant, timeless, and polished, while still feeling like myself. My hair held beautifully, my makeup lasted all night, and I felt absolutely stunning.

Mia is outstanding! Communication was amazing from consult call to wedding day. She made my wedding morning so peaceful and calm when I was so anxious and having the wedding jitters. She also helped distract me with laughs and jokes. She has a calming presence as well. My hairstyle was STUNNING , I got endless compliments!! My hair even survived the after party😝 quality work, quality products, attentive to hair details, gentle on my hair and scalp. I had the absolute best experience working with Mia! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she also made me feel so seen and cared for—especially as someone with natural Black hair. It meant the world to work with a professional who truly understands texture, technique, and how to enhance natural beauty. Mia Mo is Fantastic!
Mia Mo and her team impeccably styled my hair and my bridesmaids hair for my city chic wedding in Downtown Los Angeles.
From start to finish, Mia was extremely professional, kind, personable, and ultimately executed the vision I had for my wedding perfectly. I was so happy with my initial wedding hair trial and even more pleased with the final result on my big day.
Mia went above and beyond by ensuring my hair was pristine right before walking down the aisle. And during photos, she would give me reassuring eye contact to let me know I looked gorgeous.

All I Can Say Is WOW!!!
Mia did a great job on my hair. She did a sew in and it was so natural; it matched my hair texture and color exactly. She took extra care to protect my edges (which has been an issue with other beauticians in the past). Lots of complimants. I will be using her again. ;-) -

Mia and her team made my family, friends, and I look and feel beautiful for my big wedding day! Mia and her team handled all of the hair and makeup for 7 people and Mia even followed me to the wedding venue to touch up my lips and eye makeup, as well as change up my hair. Mia was down for a challenge, whether that was a last minute decision to cut bangs, or do a very fast big chop of my hair before the reception as a surprise to all my guests. That is probably one of my favorite wedding memories: after pictures during cocktail hour, we went to “touch up” my hair and makeup, when really we were taking down the giant bun that held all of my very long hair for a big hair cut!! We only had minutes before the reception, so it had to be fast! Mia even thought to ask for a table cloth to cover me and my big dress so no hair got on me! Within minutes, my hair was chopped to shoulder length and styled, ready to surprise my new husband and all of our loved ones. It was truly special. -

I came across Mia when I was searching for a hairstylist for myself and my wedding party. Upon reaching out to her, the response time was really quick and she was extremely friendly, patient and thorough with all the answers to my questions. I was able to complete a trial with her and get to know her and that was really great too. She works quickly, very light handed and is so kind in person. She even gives hair growth tips and tricks and has an online shop. I on used some of her hair serum for my hair and my hair has grown a few inches. All in all, I am so pleased I was able to cross paths with Mia and now will use her as my regular hairstylist. -

Mia and her team were absolutely amazing for my wedding. I hired them for both hair and makeup, and they exceeded all expectations.
Makeup:
I had a big bridal party of 11, plus myself and two moms, and everyone loved their look and felt like a queen! As a bride, I wanted to look like myself and have a natural glam look on my wedding day, and Mia nailed it. My makeup stayed flawless from photos, the ceremony through the reception without needing any touchups. Mia truly listened to what I wanted and created an approach that was custom to me.
Hair:
My group was very diverse in age, skin tone, and hair types—we had braids, weaves, straight hair, and curly hair, and her team could do it all.
Having a diverse HMU team for my wedding was extremely important to me, and going with Mia was the best decision I could have made. The whole team was professional, fun, and kept everything running smoothly and on time. They were a dream to work with and made my wedding day even more special. -

I would like to start off buy saying Mia was INCREDIBLE and a GODSEND!! As a Black bride, with a pretty diverse wedding party filled with mostly women of color, I felt it imperative to pick HMU artists that have experience working on our various textures of hair and skin types. I connected with a handful of different HMU vendors before I came across Mia’s profile on Instagram. From our first interaction over the phone to my wedding day, Mia exceeded my expectations. She was incredibly responsive, organized, and super accommodating.
I booked her within 45 days of my wedding; typically it is advised you are booking HMU 6 months to 1 year out to allow time for trials, etc. but she was willing to work with my timeframe, budget, and large bridal party size. I also do not live in the LA so when it came time to do a trial, her team was able to accommodate me when I arrived to LA a few days before my wedding. In addition, though Mia had a pre-planned trip and would arrive the day before my wedding she made me feel completely confident in her prep and arrival in time for my wedding.
Her and her team were able to accommodate 12 ladies hair requests the day of my wedding, doing a phenomenal job even in the midst of our hotel experience power outages a few times during our getting ready process.
Highly recommend adding on the Bridal Party Touch Ups package as well! Mia stayed with us 3-4 hours after our getting ready time to help with touching up our hair services. But Mia went over and beyond and even supported with touching up my make-up as I was a Bride who had incredibly watery eyes, so even though she wasn’t my official makeup artists she made sure I felt beautiful in every aspect leading up to walking down the aisle and for that I am truly grateful for!!
I promise you will not regret moving forward with having Mia and her team support you in your hair services. Mia is truly an expert in her field but she also helped to take away any and all stress when it came to ensuring me, my bridal party and mom/mother in law were looking our best on my wedding day. Wedding planning is stressful….but when you find the right vendor they should be making your life easier and that is truly what Mia did!! -

Mia is wonder woman!
Mia is an absolute saint, a dream, and more wonderful than words can express! We are two women of color from different races, and we were extremely nervous about finding someone who could do bridal makeup for us both. We were ENTHRALLED with how gorgeous Mia made us look during the makeup consultation. She was understanding, professional, fun, and efficient. We never wear makeup, so she had a ton of wonderful makeup suggestions and advice that we went with because we trusted her vision. It turned out WONDERFUL. We could not stop talking about how beautiful we looked. Mia suggested we get extensions for the type of hairstyle my wife wanted, and Mia was even able to dye the extensions the color we wanted so we didn’t have to do it ourselves. We wanted to do a reveal, and Mia helped us both get our makeup on and did my wife’s hair without us seeing each other.
Since it was a small destination wedding, our witness could not come, so when we asked Mia to be our witness she generously agreed. On the day of the wedding, we told her our venue and she drove out 40 minutes to our location and hiked up and down the side of a mountain to touch up our makeup - in sandals! She stayed with us up and down dirt roads, dodged literal gopher holes, and weathered the freezing nighttime cold to ensure we looked perfect for our photos. Mia was an absolute champion, and we’re so incredibly happy that we chose her. I can’t imagine anyone else working so hard to ensure our perfect day was magical.
When you book with her, Mia will give you a digital bridal book package based on the references you send her, a consultation with the full look you’ll get on your wedding day, and you have her for touchups.
It’s been over a week since we got married and my wife and I still talk about how grateful we are for having her as our stylist! We would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone getting married in her area - she’s a complete gem and such a kind, amazing person. She was a complete delight to be around and made us look like princess dolls. We’re so happy with her work! Mia is simply the best. -

I had a destination wedding and the main stressor was finding a local hair stylist that would be able to do (black) natural hair. My girlfriend was helping me search online and found Mia’s profile on the knot. After our first consultation I was relieved to know Mia was a stylist that specialized in natural hair. She was so easy to talk to and had great input. Her “ look book “ meeting was SO professional and she was so patient while we went over all the ideas and prices. Communication was clear and easy during the months leading up to my wedding. On the morning of she was flexible with adding services for a couple of my bridesmaids that decided last minute they needed help with a style. My hair was AMAZINGLY beautiful and just what we discussed. I opted for extensions and Mia took care of ordering and prepping those for me which made the day of run so smooth. Mia styled me
perfectly and stayed until the last minute I needed her to place my veil. I would recommend her to any girl that needs styling for their special day. I could not have SLAYED my look with her. THANK YOU MIA! -

I’ve always had hints of orange and damage to my hair when receiving services from other stylists. But with Mia lightening my hair it always come out that perfect blonde shade.She is a professional hair stylist I can always trust to do the job correctly and not have to worry when the service is complete that I will not be satisfied with my hair because I know she gots me EVERYTIME. -

When I begun my journey of finding a bridal makeup artist, it was very important to find a makeup artist who had experience working with women of color, specifically black women. I looked at every artist listed on Wedding Wire and Mia was one of few that had Black women in her portfolio.
Mia is the total package! While I did not take advantage of her bridal hair services, I love that she offered those services if I needed them.
I was very nervous about my bridal makeup but Mia relieved those concerns very easily. She was very receptive to the changes I wanted to make after we had our trial run. When wedding day rolled around Mia knocked it out the park. I felt so pretty and my makeup lasted through all my crying and partying.
My bridal party was kind of big with 8 people including myself. I had a last minute addition and Mia was able to accommodate the change with no problem. She let me know from the start she would have an additional makeup artist on wedding day to keep us on schedule. Mia and her team were very personable and nice with my bridal party. On wedding day we had an unruly bridesmaid who threw off the entire day and Mia and her team handled the situation with class and grace. Aside from that hiccup, my bridesmaids makeup came out so nice. Mia and her team did a wonderful job highlighting the beauty of each and every one of my bridesmaids.
Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would recommend Mia Mo Styles, especially if you’re looking for an artist with experience working on Black and POC faces. -

I waited a few months to write this review to ensure my recollection aligned with the photos from the photographer and to provide a fair assessment.
I hired Mia for my destination wedding in Jamaica, and from our first conversation, she was professional and prepared. I was particularly excited that she had Jamaican heritage, as she seemed familiar with the culture and climate. I needed Mia to create various looks for me during my four-day wedding celebration.
On Day 1, during the welcome dinner party, Mia accidentally burned my forehead. While I understand this was an accident, as a professional hairstylist, I didn’t expect to be burned—especially on my very first look, just two days before my wedding. We tried to cover up the burn with makeup, but it remained visible in many of my photos from that day. Three months later, the burn is still quite prominent and will take a long time to heal.
For that first look, I had a middle part with curls, which made it difficult to hide the burn. Additionally, my curls dropped immediately after Mia finished them. By the time I took photos with the professional photographers, my curls had mostly fallen out, and my lace closure was placed too far back. Mia acknowledged this the following day, making adjustments to the closure and going to buy more holding spray to keep my curls intact. However, my bridesmaids also commented that my hair was inconsistent throughout the weekend, and the closure wasn’t blended well with my natural hairline.
Mia is a very kind person, but when you're flying someone out, putting them up in a nice place, covering their travel expenses, and paying for their services, you expect stellar results. The hair on the wedding day was the best of all the styles, but even those curls didn’t last. I don’t place all the blame on Mia, as I understand the humidity on the island posed a challenge. However, we had extensive discussions about the hairstyle I wanted before arriving in Jamaica, and I was reassured that with the right sprays, my curls would hold. Unfortunately, they didn’t.
While the hairstyles looked nice, they weren’t exactly what I had envisioned. Ultimately, I felt disappointed with many of my looks, and to make matters worse, I now have heat damage to my natural hair.Mia Mo Styles's reply:

I typically do not respond to reviews, as I respect that every client is entitled to their opinion. However, I do want to ensure that future brides have a full understanding of the work and effort that went into your wedding weekend.
1. Weather Conditions & Style Choices:
As we discussed prior to your wedding and outlined in our contract, neither party could be held responsible for the state of the weather. The weekend was not just humid—it rained heavily throughout, which naturally affected all hairstyles. Despite these conditions, you opted for heat-styled looks on extensions with a closure, which I executed per your request. Additionally, no leave-out of your natural hair was included in your styles, so I am unsure how heat damage could have occurred. This is the first time I’m hearing this concern, as it was never communicated to me during or after the wedding.
2. Above & Beyond Service:
On your wedding day, I went above and beyond to accommodate last-minute requests and unexpected challenges:
• I traveled to four different locations to style you, requiring me to unload and repack my kit each time—at no additional cost.
• I washed and prepped hair at 6 AM—also at no additional cost.
• I worked through power outages at your prep location to ensure you still received the service you envisioned.
• I stayed until 10 PM for touch-ups—well beyond my standard three-hour post-wedding touch-up window—to ensure that, despite the rain, you had beautiful photos to look back on.
I have never worked harder on a wedding weekend than I did for yours, as my commitment was to make sure you felt beautiful on your special day, even in challenging conditions. I regret that my efforts did not meet your full expectations, but I do hope you were still able to enjoy your wedding and the precious memories captured.
