Level Up Your Natural Beauty or for Boho Bridal Look!
I could not recommend Susanna of MG Hair & Makeup enough. She really listened to me when I told her what I was looking for and was even willing to come out for two trials to ensure I really loved the hair and makeup. On the day of my wedding, not only did I truly feel like the most gorgeous version of myself but my best friends looked stunning as well. Susanna is also just such a truly sweet and wonderful human being—she was a beautiful addition to our day. And MG Hair & Makeup is the best as well. They made it so easy to book and were extremely flexible and great to work with. Basically, if you’re looking for a level-up of your natural beauty or a whimsical boho wedding look, Susanna is your gal! I was THRILLED with the final result! -

I did a same day service with no trial. Although I was a little nervous, Meg was great! She arrived on time and had reviewed the photos I sent. She listened to everything I asked for and really did a beautiful job! Also Denise was so responsive and helpful with emails weeks leading up to the big day ! -

Great experience!
I had an exceptional experience with MG Hair & Makeup from start to finish. Their online booking gave me plenty of opportunity to give specific direction and preferences, and their response time is great. I was able to lock in my wedding day hair & makeup within 24 hours of reaching out, and there was plenty of follow up between then and the wedding day so I always felt reassured that everything was going to go as planned. I appreciate how communicative and thorough they are.
Their professionalism, particularly during these unusual times, was amazing. I felt extremely comfortable having an hair & makeup artist in my home after reading through all the safety precautions that MG Hair & Makeup is taking - to protect both their customers and their staff.
Gianna was on time, friendly, and extremely talented - I requested simple makeup and an up do for my daytime wedding, and Gianna took a lot of time talking through different options and reviewing examples to make sure we were on the same page. She also put a lot of effort into matching the foundation to my skin tone perfectly (as I am very fair), which I really appreciated. She gave me plenty of opportunities to review as she worked, so I could give further direction. I never needed to because she did a beautiful job!
Overall I was incredibly impressed with the level of service I received, both from the central booking team, and from the artist herself. I'd highly recommend MG Hair & Makeup to anyone!

I’ve known Meg for years and was so excited for her to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. She’s an incredible person with the biggest heart, and extremely talented. She listened to my vision and made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I was very particular about using fake lashes in that I didn’t want them to be too dramatic but just enough to create a full, natural, beautiful look, and she gave me the best lashes I’ve ever had. I also had a specific vision for my hair and she nailed it. Her team did my girls, mom and mother in law’s hair and makeup as well and everyone looked amazing! I would highly recommend Meg and her team who have been in the business for years, are in the know on all the best beauty brands, styles and trends, and will make you feel incredible on your day. -

I'm very happy I worked with MG for my wedding day. Coordinating everything from the beginning to the end with Denise was very easy; she answered emails immediately and I felt very taken care of throughout the entire process. I had the pleasure of working with MG's artist Gianna & I'm very lucky to have gotten her to be my girl for the day. She showed up to my trial early & ready to go. Both my mom & I had her do our hair and make up and we both felt gorgeous at the end of it and a nice plus was that she's just a doll- so of course, she was our girl! She gave me skin care advice, long lasting lip stick/stain suggestions & we emailed back and forth leading up to the day and she was more than happy to answer any skin/makeup/hair questions I had. She's very knowledgable & took time to write out thoughtful responses to my questions, which I really appreciated. The day of was so relaxing having her by my side. She knew exactly the look I was going for & executed it perfectly, also telling me how beautiful she thought I was all day & I know that added a ton of smiles to my photographs and video! She was my cheerleader :) I added extra hours for touch ups because I knew I'd be crying a lot throughout the day haha, but I barely needed any touch ups because the final product at the beginning of the day was so solid! Having her there for my special day felt like having another friend getting ready with us. Also (this is not about hair or make up) but right before the ceremony, we realized I had no one to fluff out my train before walking down the aisle and without even hesitating, Gianna said, "I'll do it!" So not only is she a super talented hair and make up artist, but she's a great team player and jumped into a position that she absolutely was not obligated to jump into. Artist Vanessa was the 2nd artist we had working on my bridal party and she also did a fabulous job, making everyone look beautiful. All of my girls felt beautiful and that absolutely radiated throughout their smiles. I will definitely be working with Gianna in the future whenever I need to feel like a princess again and if you can get her for your big day- do it!! You will be very very happy with your results :) -

Chantal Sent on 08/05/2018MG Hair and Makeup exceeded my wildest expectations! From the start, Denise was responsive and informative, ready to answer any questions or concerns I had. She set up my trial run with Talia, who was incredibly kind and patient. Leading up to the wedding, I was sent a detailed breakdown for hair and makeup for each girl, along with specific instructions on how to prepare for that morning.
It was really important to me that I still looked like me on my wedding day, just an enhanced version. I also have pretty short hair, so I knew working with that was going to be a challenge. My pre-wedding consultation with Talia went well, but she BLEW me away on my wedding day. She showed up on time (really important for an already anxious bride) and was on schedule down to the minute the whole time. I let each of my bridesmaids do what they wanted for hair and makeup, and Talia was careful to listen to each them and make sure they were happy with the outcome, which was really important to me. When my turn came along, Talia mentioned that my hair had grown some since our consultation and that we could probably do something extra with it. AND DID SHE. My hair turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I had it colored shortly before the wedding, and the way she styled it mixed the light/dark pieces and gave the updo amazing depth. My makeup was also exactly how I wanted it. I was concerned about my hair and makeup staying in place through a humid June day full of pictures, an outdoor ceremony and heavy dancing, but I had nothing to worry about. My hair never budged and my makeup still looked great in pictures from later on in the evening. Not only did Talia do an amazing job with everyone, but she was also just really great to have around that morning. She made me feel at ease and comfortable, and it was like having one of the girls around while we got ready. I absolutely recommend MG Hair and Makeup. You won’t be disappointed!

Jamie Sent on 06/13/2018I could not have imagined a smoother process booking hair and makeup for all my bridesmaids and mother of the bride! Alicia with MG Hair and Makeup was a SAINT and so patient and helpful during trials. We did two of them and each time I had feedback for her and she ran with it and day of NAILED all the wedding party looks. She did hair and makeup for 6 ladies and was completely on schedule and everyone ended up happy! As the bride I worried about my makeup because I've had bad experiences in the past but Alicia and MG achieved the exact look I wanted! It was not overdone but just right. Book immediately! Pricing is very reasonable for the level of talent you get, too!

Kelly Sent on 04/15/2018Hiring them was the best decision. By far the best price and the quality of the work was top notch! I looked EXACTLY as I had pictured in my head, better actually. Talia was patient, kind, a great listener and calming presence the morning of! I am thrilled with the service! The makeup lasted from 10am until midnight! The pics are at dinner when we had a noon outdoor ceremony!

Denise was extremely responsive to all questions and ensured everything for the big day was scheduled to perfection. The artists arrived promptly and the timeline was maintained, providing for a stress free experience. We had 11 people getting hair & makeup done, and Cynthia & Martina were able to keep everything on schedule while perfecting each person's preference for both hair & makeup. Absolutely everyone looked amazing, and both the hair and makeup stood up for the entire day and evening.

She put us all at ease and she was so sweet and easy to work with. We actually finished all the hair and makeup early -- Cinthya made sure everything ran smoothly. -
User3094967 Sent on 06/18/2017I cannot say enough great things about MG Hair & Makeup as a company and also about the artist Nikolette! Nikolette is so versatile in her work, she did the hair and makeup for several of us in my bridal party and each lady had different ideas of what they wanted (some very natural/barely there makeup and others a heavier "made up" look) and Nikolette was able to fulfill all of these requests! The same goes with her hair styling, some girls were very simple and others had way more intricate updos/braids/whimsical curls and Nikolette was able to do this all. She is also a pleasure to work with in general she is very kind and professional.
MG's management and customer service is also TOP NOTCH!
I ended up asking for 2 trials initially because I did not love my makeup the first time, and the second time I loved my makeup because Nikolette is very open to opinions and she appreciates feedback, I felt very comfortable asking her to tweak some things here and there with my hair and makeup. Then a few months after my first 2 trials I changed my mind about my hair and Denise (who is the one who always promptly responds to any emails) quickly offered a 3rd trial! They were so accommodating I didn't ask for the 3rd trial but right away they offered it in order to make me more comfortable/prepared for the actual wedding day. -

User1668806 Sent on 06/18/2014My husband and I got married on Shelter Island, NY and Erika did my and my bridal party's hair and makeup. She was the best! I had done an initial hair and makeup trial with another artist. I liked her work and had scheduled her for my wedding day. After some time, I changed my mind on the hair style so I tried to schedule a second trial with that artist. It was then that I learned she was no longer available, which was a little concerning. However, MG Hair & Makeup made it right by scheduling that second trial with Erika, at no extra cost. I absolutely loved Erika's work and it turned out for the best! She was so friendly and extremely calming and patient. She drove the 3+ hours to Shelter Island the morning of my wedding and was able to do 5 updos and 2 makeup applications (including me). She was just as calming and professional as she was during the trial. She made me feel absolutely beautiful and I am forever thankful. I highly recommend Erika -

Booked with MG Hair and Makeup for my wedding and wedding party. Very responsive and Michelle who did my, and my wedding parties hair and make up was wonderful. Very relaxed, came on time for both the trial and wedding and had everyone finished looking perfect by the end of their time slot.

Shaya Sent on 03/29/2018I booked MG for hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my sisters (bridesmaids), and our junior bridesmaid. We had Rachel and Val, Rachel and I did a trial session a few months prior to my wedding.
They arrived promptly at my hotel room the morning of the wedding, with a clear schedule of who would be getting hair or makeup done at what time. The other girls had brought photos of what they wanted (and didn't want!), per MG's recommendation, which was very helpful. My mom doesn't wear makeup (literally have not seen her in makeup since I was 10 years old or so), but did so for my wedding. She looked amazing, Rachel did a great job of smoothing her complexion and enhancing her features while still leaving her looking like herself! My sisters also loved the makeup jobs they received.
I got a lot of compliments on my hair and makeup, and I was so happy with it. I really wanted a soft, dewy look while enhancing my eyes, and I think Rachel did an excellent job of that. I also changed my hairstyle from what we had done at the trial, and she accommated that easily. It looked great, and my hair and makeup held up all night even though I spent most of my reception on the dance floor! -

I did a trial with her and loved the way she did my hair, so we hired her to do mine and a few others in the bridal party on the day of. She is a consummate professional - she was pregnant and was due in a month or so, but you would never know it! She was on her feet working hard the entire day, and she did a truly incredible job. I am very picky and I have really long hair, so it was rough coming up with the right style for me. Ashley worked with me every step of the way to make sure that I had the best updo. It stayed up the entire night and never fell out, which was quite a feat.

Carly Sent on 12/26/2017I contacted MG after reading the wonderful reviews about their responsiveness and customer service. The Director and the Assistant were both great to work with. I had a bad experience with the first trial (junior stylist) and was really overwhelmed and worried, but Denise fixed it with scheduling me for another trial with one of their top stylists, Ashley. Ashley was wonderful. She took feedback well and created a look that made me feel like the best version of myself.
I had a little bit of a rough morning the day of my wedding, running out of time to get ready, and Ashley handled it like a pro. My girls looked beautiful and I felt confident throughout the day, even when my curls fell victim to the brutal waterfront wind! -

Brikida from MG Hair & Makeup did my hair and makeup and my bridesmaids' hair for my wedding this fall, and we were all very happy with the results! Denise, who coordinated all the details, was a breeze to communicate with and responded nearly immediately to any questions I had. My makeup was pure magic - by far the best professional makeup application I've ever had. Only concern would be that my updo was slightly different than what I asked for, and some pieces did fall throughout the day, but it looked beautiful nonetheless. The company was pricier than the average for my wedding's area, but definitely worth the splurge to have my girls and I feel so pampered on my big day. -

Be sure you do a trial with your artist and try a few styles to make sure you love their work, especially if the girls in your bridal party all want different looks. The team were on time, ready to go, and did whatever was needed to get us looking beautiful.

Not worth the price
I wouldn’t recommend using MG. I used them for my hair for me and my bridesmaids for my wedding. I was having a hard time finding a hair stylist I liked and bought MG’s whole “high end wedding specific hair/make up” platform they advertise. I mistakenly moved forward with them after an okay hair trial since they had the 24 hours post-trial book policy - this had me personally feeling a bit pressured and at the time felt if they were in fact “the best” I wanted to lock down the services. In retrospect, I realized their policies are very strict and pricing outrageous compared to pretty much every other local hair stylist out there. I thought these policies and prices were justified due to the high quality of their work but I think they only have a few artists who maybe produce this level work. The artist I had was fine (she was sweet the day of and everyone was happy with their hair) but really it was not worth the price point. I liked my hair at first but in the end my side bang really wasn’t curled into my hair great and most of my photos include an oily piece of hair covering half my face. I don’t know how much of this is within a stylist’s control but it was a disappointment especially at the price point and when I’d had my hair done for my shower in a similar way by my local hair stylist and the hair had not fallen in my face 5+ hours into the day the way it did on my wedding day just an hour later. -
